Ice Cube, Cypress Hill & More Headline High Hopes Concert Series

Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Method Man and Redman are just a few of the rap icons set to headline the upcoming High Hopes Concert Series in Ontario, California.

The 420-friendly lineup was unveiled on Friday (August 19), and will include other appearances from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Berner, Xzibit and Warren G & Tha Dogg Pound – which means Kurupt and Daz Dillinger will take to the stage.

The stacked festival will all go down on Saturday, November 19 at Ontario’s Toyota Arena, and will be hosted by the eccentric Cypress Hill character Dr. Greenthumb, (aka B Real in fake teeth and a creepy surgeon’s uniform).

Presale tickets will be available on August 24 via  Ticketmaster .

Ice Cube has been dominating stages all summer long, and just performed at LL COOL J’s inaugural  Rock The Bells festival  earlier in August alongside other rap royalty like Lil Kim, The Diplomats, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Scarface, Trina, Digable Planets and others.

Speaking of B-Real, the West Coast rap veteran had a lot to say back in May about his group’s lackluster Verzuz against Onyx, and took issue with the platform forcing people to pay in order to access the showdown.

“I have to say although it was great to rock with our brothers @ONYX_HQ in the Verzuz battle, I feel like [Verzuz] shorted us all by not running it on IG live like other battles,” the legendary MC tweeted. “They made it a ppl event & made the battle a side show for the boxing match instead. IMO.”

DJ Skee echoed B-Real’s sentiments and said he wasn’t even aware a Verzuz battle between the legends had happened.

“Both groups are iconic and unfortunately no on even knew this was happening,” he wrote. “I would have watched if I knew.”

Method Man and Redman also stepped into the Verzuz ring back in 2021, and while the duo has always been known for their natural chemistry, the famed pair told HipHopDX that didn’t always use to be the case.

“We used get into little … not fights … ’cause we never argued, but he would try and give me little jewels here and there like, ‘Look, son, you ain’t gotta do all that shit,” Method Man said in 2018. “You just be leaving us up onstage like that. You be leaving us stranded.’

“And it wouldn’t sit in my head until one day, I said, ‘Fuck it. I’m a stay on stage. I’m a see how this shit work out.’ And I started watching them for one show and started imitating a lot of the shit he was doing. From there, it just locked in. It was just chemistry.”

Redman added, “I remember we went through that conversation, and the only reason I told you that is because sometimes you felt you didn’t get enough and I had to let you know, you are getting it on the stage, brother, with your presence. You ain’t really gotta reach.”

Cypress Hill, Ice Cube To Headline High Hopes

Some Hip-Hop legends are set to hit the stage together for the High Hopes Concert Series. Taking place in Ontario, California, Ice Cube, Method Man, Redman and Cypress Hill are among the icons headlining the upcoming shows.

The lineup was announced on Friday (August 19), and will also feature Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Berner, Xzibit and Warren G & Tha Dogg Pound–Kurupt and Daz Dillinger–all taking the stage for the marijuana-themed festivities.

The festival takes place on Saturday, November 19 at Toyota Arena in Ontario; and things will be hosted by the eccentric Cypress Hill character and B-Real alter ego, Dr. Greenthumb.

Cube just rocked the stage at this year’s Rock The Bells Festival, held at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on August 6th.

Presale tickets for the High Hopes Festival will be available beginning August 24  on Ticketmaster.

“This is a legendary and iconic lineup,” said B-Real of Cypress Hill, aka Dr. Greenthumb in announcement press release. “High Hopes has curated the smoker’s ultimate playlist, and it’s a platform that I’ve supported since day one. This is the beginning of a new movement that Chang and I started with our Smoke Out. We’re excited to roll out even more surprises this year and in the future.”

High Hopes Concert Series features world-class artists, iconic headliners, and some of the most influential trailblazers in the music industry, coming together to support cannabis culture and celebrate the legalization of weed.

In other news, it was announced this week that Ice Cube has taken over as CEO of his co-founded 3-on-3 basketball league, Big 3. Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs + More Headline High Hopes Festival

Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony are among the classic Hip Hop acts scheduled to perform at the High Hopes Concert Series in Ontario, California on November 19. Hosted by Dr. Greenthumb, the event boasts additional performances from Method Man & Redman, Warren G & Tha Dogg Pound, Berner, Suga Free and Baby Bash with special guest Xzibit. 

The show will serve as Bizzy Bone's last performance with his Bone Thugs brethren, which he claimed in September. Taking to Instagram at the time, Bizzy wrote: "This one for the Bone Thug fans. I told y’all i got some surprises with this release. I’M BACK ON TOUR WITH BONE THUGS N HARMONY!!! Ya’ll gonna wanna see this! Last time for bb so lets do this sht BIG!!!! Its called the high hopes tour and i will be posting more dates very soon. Haven’t been on the road in a sec so this gonna be good! Big BIG!” Tickets are currently on sale at Ticketmaster.com.

Ice Cube, Cypress Hill coming to Mid-South

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (WMC) - Hip hop legends Ice Cube and Cypress Hill are headlining a tour that will make its way to the Mid-South.

They will play at Landers Center in Southaven on December 1, alongside Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Too Short as part of the High Hopes Tour.

Ice Cube concert booked for Santa Maria creating buzz with local music fans

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Legendary rapper Ice Cube has been booked to headline a concert in Santa Maria next month at the Elks Unocal Event Center.

The event was announced early Monday evening and is already creating a buzz that can be felt with music fans around the Central Coast.

"It's something great for the community," said promoter Pablo Ramos. "We have a lot of people here so,  we're getting a lot of support. We posted it and social media buzz right now is on fire. It's probably the biggest event that we've had in Santa Maria for long time, so we're excited."

Ramos said people have been so excited with the news, many have said they don't believe it.

"People are talking about it," said Ramos. "This is the most feedback I've received for any concert I've promoted. My social media, I can't even go on it because there's so many notifications now. It's unbelievable. It's beyond what I expected. I had expectations, but the way people are responding to it, is like, wow, we did it. We made that flare go off and people are responding."

Ramos said he is expecting at least 9,000 people to attend the concert, which would likely be the highest attended musical performance in the city's history.

The concert, slated for Saturday, Oct. 22, is the second concert held by recently-formed 805Concerts .

The new company has been created by Ramos to book concerts throughout the Central Coast, from Ventura to San Luis Obispo, with an emphasis on Santa Maria.

"We can do big shows here. There's no reason for anybody to have to drive north or south, two to three hours to go to a concert," said Ramos. "We have the connections and we have definitely the population here that wants to see big events."

Local radio personality Jessica Carroll agreed. She's been on the airwaves for more than 15 years, and currently can be heard on 95.7 The Beat.

Carroll said the reaction to the Ice Cube announcement has been immense.

"This has been less than 24 hours and it's blowing up," said Carroll. "People are really excited for this show and I have no doubt that it's going to sell out. I think we're going to have a lot of fun with this one."

She also pointed out how significant having the concert of this caliber is to the Santa Maria and surrounding area.

Typically, the only time Santa Maria will host a concert with an artist as well-known as Ice Cube is during the Santa Barbara County Fair at the Santa Maria Fairpark in mid-July.

"I think this is very exciting to have an artist like this come to our area," said Carroll. "We're used to having to drive to LA or San Francisco or San Jose. We get our couple of weeks during the year during the fair to only have to drive an hour, but to do it where we can drive 10-15 minutes and see an artist of this caliber, it's a really big deal and I think this is something that we can start supporting, so this will continue to happen in the future. That's the goal. We all want to see these artists, but to have them come here, we have to support these shows."

Ramos added his goal is to have artists from across the musical landscape regularly perform at several different local venues.

"We're going to do different genres," said Ramos. "We're willing to bring different artists that drive past us. We're going to make this a stop. We have relationships with Fremont (Theater in San Luis Obispo), Arlington in Santa Barbara, Ventura Fairgrounds, so we want to be able to do stuff up and down the 805 coast and do different size events."

The first show 805Concerts held was the Funk and Soul Festival that took place in July at the Santa Maria Fairpark.

Ramos added he has a country concert booked at the Elks Unocal Event Center on Saturday, Nov. 19 that will headlined by a yet to named artist.

The Ice Cube show will be held from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Ice Cube will headline the show, which will also feature several other still to be announced artists.
