HCR's Long-Travel General kit has been proven and tested over time and given similar design and strength properties such as our full Long-Travel kits built for racing applications. The Polaris General kit offers an additional +5" per side of width setting the General at 72" at the wheel, and an increase or +2" of split wheelbase. With the design of the added clearance in the arms you gain 1.25" of ground clearance under the control arms. This kit is built to utilize the HCR Spec. King 2.5 Series shocks that offer 17" of travel and come equipped with compression adjusters. 

All these factors combine to offer the Polaris General a smoother ride, tougher stance and increased stability in all types of riding conditions.

Has anyone put the HCR long travel ( 72 wide) on there General xp, If so what offset wheels did you go with . Installing mine some time next week and need to get wheels and tires ordered. wanting to go with 15 x 7 with 6-1 offset but finding a lot of 15 x 6 with 5-1 offset.

Yes the HCR kit is on , system 3 wheels,32 x 15x 7, tires BFG KM3 32 x15x 10, with a 5-2 offset or 38mm . What caught me off guard is they brand the wheel as a 7in wide but stamped on inside states 6 1/2 in .I have a appointment with Shock Therapy to do spring and internals . Have not gone off-road yet due to I dont have travel in my front shocks maybe 1 1/2 of movement before I hit the bump stop . Not sure why they say stock shocks will work with this suspension ,not working for me. The rears are fine .Im sitting at 15in clearance in rear and 19 in front just so I have some tension in the springs. I will update after I get shocks done.  

How did it all turn out? Any pictures  

still need to get my springs done and get ride height set . im sitting high in front right now 19in floor to skid and 15 in rear .  

Hope it all works out. They don't give that kit away that's for sure. Its hard to tell from your pictures but a few observations. your back limit straps look short, and it they are you won't get the drop. did you check how far you are from full shock extension vs what the strap gives you ? front don't look 19 in but it may be because your driveway is angled. you front strap look like they have more slack then the back ? aaaaare you measuring it at the bottom of the LCA tab < But in the end Best way to set ride height is with axle angel and not height # as it can very way to much as many variables 12 to 15 degrees shaft angle is the norm

Nice !!! have you turned the spindle/axels at full droop to see if they bind at full wheel cut in and out ? sure is pretty !  

No binding at all.there is a shim kit installed under the front case to align the front axles .. Thanks  

Did you ever get the hcr long travel dialed in? If so how did you like it? Was it worth the money? I am looking at one. But info out there is limited Which shocks do you have. Hcr is saying the their kit won’t work with the walker evens shocks which is what mine has.  

I have the walker evens and had shock therapy do their magic. The ride is great and I got a great deal on the suspension that I could not pass up.Do you have an XP?

yes the travel is good.I got around 17 in of clearance front and rear. I wonder if they changed something ? I do know that ST had a little trouble with getting the rear to where it at ,they wanted the shock to be more vertical.  

Thank you for the responses! I know you said you got a good deal on it but if you could do it again and pay regular price do you think it’s worth it? Do you happen to know total width and height need to see if it would still fit in my toy hauler.  

I think I would, it does ride pretty great ,and looks good. Ive have people saw it rides like a caddy compared to stock . the height is 79 3/4 just say 80, and around 75 at the bulge. my trailer is 82 door height and my rugged radio antenna just clips it . let me know if you need more answers

That is the one I was looking at. It looks like walker evens shocks in the pic. The sales guy didn’t seem to confident I might call and talk to someone from tech. Thanks for the help.

We’ve really come to love our Polaris General as a vehicle that delivers a great balance between work and play. But can you ever have enough “play” in the equation? We think not.

HCR, which is an industry leader in long travel suspension systems, has developed a + 5 kit for the Polaris General which adds 10-inch of overall track width and 2-inches of wheel base for handling, stability and overall performance. The high clearance front arms offer also offer 1.25-inches of additional height for a total of 13.25-inches of ground clearance.

Made from the same custom alloy as the popular Elite Kit, which boast 30% stronger tensile and yield strength, you have the confidence to you push the General to its limits knowing it can take the abuse.

The clever design also makes use of OEM balljoints to increase low speed steering and travel with minimal maintenance and 4130 heat-treated billet balljoint receivers are used instead of tubing for additional strength. Further thought went into the lower shock mounts with use a J-arm style mount that allows for longer stroke shocks and more travel.

Offered with the package from HCR are custom valved 2.5-inch diameter King Shocks which offers 20 position compression clickers along with 30-inches more range of adjustment over conventional shocks. We opted to go with Elka Stage 5 shocks for the added adjustment of high and low speed compression along with rebound adjustment.

Much like the Elitserien Finals, we have a bit of an offense vs. defense match-up in this league Final.  While Ufa let their star top line of Alexander Radulov, Patrick Thoresen and Igor Grigorenko loose on the KHL's Western Conference, Mytischi played a more conservative style, relying on veterans such as former NHLers Jan Bulis, Oleg Petrov, and Jaroslav Obsut.  Just reaching the Finals is a testament to Atlant's disciplined style of play, as they had to knock off much more high profile teams from Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg to do so.  But while they did finish 8th in the league in points, they haven't seen the likes of Ufa, who finished 2nd. 

This series will be a challenge for the underdog, because unlike some of the other KHL teams, Ufa's top players are generally younger and in their prime.  Only Proshkin amongst regular blueliners is over 30, with the work being shared by Kirill Koltsov (28), Andrei Kuteikin (26), Miroslav Blatak (28), Maxim Kondratiev (28) and Dmitri Kalinin (30).  Oleg Tverdovsky hasn't played a lot in the playoffs to date.  Up front, while led by a fairly young top line (24-27), Ufa does have a lot of veterans in support roles:  Vyacheslav Kozlov , Viktor Kozlov , Vladimir Antipov, Sergei Zinovyev and Petr Schastlivy are all over 30.  In fact, the names of all their forwards are familiar to international and NHL fans:  Robert Nilsson , Alexander Svitov, Oleg Saprykin and Jakub Klepis round out the group, all former NHL players.

For Atlant, their veteran roster, with only one of their top six D under the age of 30 (and no top forwards under 30, either), this might be their one shot at a championship.  The team has never won either a Russian Superleague title or the Gagarin Cup, and for players like former NHLer Oleg Petrov, this is probably the last shot at the KHL's top prize.  The team got three extra days rest by winning their Conference Final in six games, and they probably needed to use it.  Atlant does have younger regulars on their roster, but they generally only play a few shifts per game, if that. 

The low event style of game for Atlant probably suits them well, but I don't know how they can manage to keep up against Ufa's speed, skill, and depth.  There is no advantage to be seen in goal, with Erik Ersberg and Konstantin Barulin posting almost identical numbers, and even in terms of recent playoff experience Ufa has them beat.  Luckily for Atlant, Ufa isn't that far away from the Moscow region, so travel shouldn't play a major role. 

I'm predicting that Ufa, winners of the last Superleague title back in 2008, will become the second team to win the Gagarin Cup, and will prevail in five games.  They have a seriously well built team that would honestly compete in the NHL.  They represent the potential of the league, while Atlant represents closer to the reality, as a team full of players who played themselves out of the NHL.

HCR's Long-Travel General kit has been proven and tested over time and given similar design and strength properties such as our full Long-Travel kits built for racing applications. The Polaris General kit offers an additional +5" per side of width setting the General at 72" at the wheel, and an increase or +2" of split wheelbase. With the design of the added clearance in the arms you gain 1.25" of ground clearance under the control arms. This kit is built to utilize the HCR spec EXIT Shocks.

All these factors combine to offer the Polaris General a smoother ride, tougher stance and increased stability in all types of riding conditions.

Shocks Feel confident in the demanding terrain with King HCR Race Series Shocks tuned by Bret King himself. The shocks provided with an HCR Complete suspension system are custom built to work specifically with the geometry of each kit. These custom HCR Series shocks are longer eye to eye and stroke, custom valved and sprung to achieve optimum performance without compromising motion ratio and minimizing shock fatigue. This allows for less compound leverage on the arm preventing further bottoming and damage to components. The KING HCR Series are true off-road shocks with larger internals than a competing UTV shock; providing minimal added weight without compromising performance.
