What Is Blackpink’s Song Setlist For ‘The Born Pink World Tour?’

Danielle Chelosky

Blackpink are having a massive year, if that isn’t obvious. Fans had high hopes for their album Born Pink , and let’s just say the group delivered, at least according to the widespread appreciation of the record . Even before the LP came out, their single “ Pink Venom ” had the biggest YouTube premiere of 2022 and the platform’s third biggest ever by hitting a colossal 90.4 million views in the first 24 hours of its release.

So it’s safe to say that their tour for Born Pink is no casual affair. It kicked off at the end of October in Dallas, Texas, and it’ll be going all the way to Europe, ending in Amsterdam in The Netherlands at the end of December. They’ll be bringing a lot of new songs but even some old material as well.

Check out the full average setlist below.

A Dream Setlist for BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” World Tour

The post A Dream Setlist for BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” World Tour appeared first on Consequence .

As if news of a long-awaited sophomore album wasn’t enough, BLACKPINK are also set to embark on a massive (and massively hyped) world tour . The “BORN PINK” tour will celebrate the album of the same name, and the new era for BLINKs will officially begin with the release of lead single “PINK VENOM” on August 19th. Finally, BLACKPINK will be back in our area.

BLACKPINK are one of the most successful girl groups in K-pop history — their last tour, the “In Your Area World Tour,” remains the highest-grossing tour by a Korean girl group — and the “BORN PINK” tour is set to raise the bar. Dubbed the “ largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group ,” the trek features dates in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and the tour poster promises more cities yet to be announced.

While  BORN PINK will surely contain some new bops, we’ve started assembling our dream setlist from BLACKPINK’s discography in the meantime. Check it out below.

1. “How You Like That”

It’s simply a bop for the ages. Plus, picture this: the lights finally go down. The lightsticks are glowing. Lisa says, “BLACKPINK in your area,” and then they are . Add in a the beat drop before Jennie kicks off the song and it’s a recipe for a truly killer opener.

2. “Kill This Love”

The title track to BLACKPINK’s 2019 EP is an absolute must at any concert. That marching band intro should quite honestly have Vecna shaking to this day. Manifesting it now — let’s hope BLACKPINK brings along a live band, including a horn section, for this tour.

3. “DDU-DU DDU-DU”

A queen to this day, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” is the fastest song by a K-pop group to reach a billion views on YouTube, and it remains the most-watched music video by a K-pop group on YouTube, sitting at almost 2 billion views (!) as of press time. A song so enormous and critical to BLACKPINK’s global trajectory is due for shine once again; meanwhile, we’ll be revisiting the Coachella performance of the hit.

4. “Pretty Savage”

When BLACKPINK performed this one at their 2021 livestream show , the beat drop towards the end was soul-shifting, a cultural reset, the absolute moment. Let’s bring that energy into a show with an audience this time.

5. “Lovesick Girls”

While so much of BLACKPINK’s best jams sit in a space with more hip-hop influences, “Lovesick Girls” is just great pop fun. This song always provides a much-needed burst of energy, and it’s hard to imagine a BLACKPINK concert being complete without a euphoric dance party with this song as the backdrop.

6. “BOOMBAYAH”

One of the earlier tracks from BLACKPINK’s discography, “BOOMBAYAH” still hits. BLACKPINK excel with songs that find a catchy hook and refuse to let it go, and “BOOMBAYAH” is a perfect example.

7. “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez

The group’s first song to crack the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Ice Cream” is so good, so sweet, and still good enough to eat. The final version featured Selena Gomez, but Ariana Grande also received a writing credit on this song — in other words, it was made for an enormous audience.

8. “Sour Candy” with Lady Gaga

Gaga herself has been including this one in the setlist for the “Chromatica Ball” — it only makes sense for the ladies of BLACKPINK to return the favor. It’s likely that Gaga would be down to record some bonkers visual accompaniment to play onscreen for her portion of the collaboration.

9. “As If It’s Your Last”

“As If It’s Your Last” features one of the best choruses in the BLACKPINK canon, no question about it. A little bit of this, little bit of that, get ready to dance as if it’s your last.

10. “SOLO” – Jennie

BLACKPINK have never had the chance to share their solo stages in person with fans — what better track to kick off with than Jenny’s aptly-named “SOLO?” Again, while she had the chance to perform the song during BLACKPINK’s virtual 2021 concert, fans would be delighted to experience it up close.

11. “LALISA” and “MONEY” – Lisa

Lisa shook things up with her dual solo release at the end of 2021. “LALISA” and “MONEY” are both bops with some great choreography — the people want the poles onstage, Lisa!

12. “On the Ground” – Rosé

Rosé’s solo endeavor, “On the Ground,” broke records upon its release for a K-pop soloist. Created alongside long-time BLACKPINK collaborator Teddy Park, “On the Ground” would thrive with some reimagined 2022 choreography — while the original (which features Rosé quite literally on the ground) was perfect for the virtual concert age, it might not work quite as well with an in-person audience.

12. A Solo for Jisoo?

While Jisoo has yet to release a solo track, it’s not too late for an original release! The tour doesn’t begin until October 15th with a kickoff in Seoul, which means there’s still a few months for Jisoo to surprise us with a solo. If not, she’s sure to slay with another cover if the members do in fact embark on solo stages.

13. “WHISTLE”

It would only be right for the group to end with one of the songs that started it all. “WHISTLE” launched BLACKPINK into the public eye in 2016, and when the group appeared on one of South Korea’s music shows ( Inkigayo ), “WHISTLE” earned them a first-place trophy a week after its release, making BLACKPINK the fastest girl group to achieve this feat.

Blackpink’s Born Pink Tour Opens in Seoul With Surprise Performances, Unreleased Track

By Kristine Kwak

Kristine Kwak

Global superstars Blackpink kicked off the Born Pink World Tour Saturday in the group’s home ground of Seoul, South Korea. The girls returned to the KSPO Dome, the same venue where they opened their first-ever tour “In Your Area.”

That was four years ago, when the venue was still called the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, and the tour concluded in late February 2020, right before Covid-19 lockdowns started happening around the world. Since then, the girls have shot up even higher into super-stardom: With The Album , the group’s Netflix documentary Blackpink: Light Up the Sky , and their livestream concert “The Show” all in 2020.

The group kicked off the show with “How You Like That” and “Pretty Savage,” dressed in custom ivory outfits with Asian-inspired silhouettes and prints. “It feels weird to perform in front of our Blinks after so long. I feel nervous and emotional and excited,” Rosé shared.

The KSPO Dome was flooded early in the day with fans eager to check out the merch tents and brand activations taking place. Vendors sold everything from Korean street food to binoculars so fans could get a better glimpse.

“It’s been so long since we performed in front of so many of our Blinks. I’m so happy to see not only our Korean Blinks but also Blinks from overseas,” Lisa said, tearing up. “It’s so meaningful to start our tour in Seoul. We made some mistakes due to nerves since it’s been four years, but I hope you still had fun,” added Jisoo.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

As expected, Blackpink put on a stellar show with some surprises up their sleeves, and the girls’ efforts showed in their solo performance stages. Jisoo performed a cover of “Liar” by Camila Cabello, complete with a dance break routine she absolutely nailed.

Rather than performing hit track “Solo,” Jennie opted to perform an unreleased song reminiscent of her recent interpretative dance video for Tamburins . “I wanted to show you all something new, you might have been a bit surprised,” she said with a smile.

Rosé performed her newly released solo track “Hard to Love” before switching up the beat for “On the Ground,” and Lisa turned up the heat with a pole dance routine for her solo performance. “I watched her practice pole dancing through the pain. It’s much harder than it looks,” Jennie said of Lisa.

Saturday’s concert will be followed by one more night in Seoul before the girls head stateside in a couple of weeks. Blackpink is currently scheduled for 42 shows in total, concluding the trek in June 2023.

BLACKPINK

Since  BLACKPINK  last performed in New Jersey nine months ago as part of their initial Born Pink world tour dates, the  Billboard 200 –topping troupe has headlined massive festivals like Coachella and BST Hyde Park, taken new challenges across music, acting, fashion and social media, and just this week reached their milestone seven-year anniversary as a group.  Jisoo ,  Jennie ,  Rosé  and  Lisa  did not let the celebratory moment go unnoticed by bringing an upgraded version of their show to MetLife Stadium and honoring how far they’ve come as a group.

When the stadium’s main lights came down just after 9 p.m. local time, the stage production drenched the audience in the group’s signature magenta hue that was a mainstay through the night thanks to the sea of BLACKPINK hammer lightsticks that glow bright pink. Except for a few setlist edits (read on for more about that), the quartet focused on delivering stadium-sized versions of their hits and some time to get sentimental in the company of thousands of their fans, affectionately known as BLINKs.

“We’re so so proud to have you in this stadium with us,” Rosé told the audience in between songs, later adding, “We’ve learned so much.”

While seven years together is an accomplishment for any group, the number is particularly significant for K-pop groups as it traditionally marks the initial contract period for artists to decide if they’ll continue with their group and/or record label. While there is still no official news regarding BLACKPINK’s future, Jennie shouting “BLACKPINK and BLINKs forever!” to the delight of her members and the crowd, gives the sense that the group hasn’t shared everything with fans just yet and more history is soon to be made.

Read on for the 8 must-know moments from the opening night of the U.S. leg for BLACKPINK’s Born Pink Encore Tour at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

The Explosive Opening

When BLACKPINK first brought the Born Pink tour to the U.S., most shows took place inside indoor arenas like Chicago’s United Center or the Prudential Center in Newark. The group wasted no time flaunting the scale of growth for the encore’s stadium leg with a slew of fireworks, pyrotechnics and laser lights flooding New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium from the opening numbers “Pink Venom” and “How You Like That.” That dedication to spectacles continued throughout the show and culminated in a massive battery of explosions by the finale.

'All Eyes' on Jisoo's Debut Performance

Jisoo

Earlier this year, Jisoo made her solo debut with her two-song EP, ME , with the single “Flower” (which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard Global 200 chart) and the B-side track “All Eyes on Me” (which hit No. 78 on the Global 200). While “Flower” got a gorgeous music video and slew of live performances, “All Eyes on Me” seemed to take the backseat — until Friday night.

During the solo section of the girls’ setlist, Jisoo surprised the crowd with her first performance of the stomping electro-pop track. The accompanying choreography brought the song to life with Jisoo taking center stage and all her dancers freezing, looking at her, when she shouts the chorus’ “All eyes on me!” line.

The BLACKPINK members later acknowledged the special song, with Jennie saying, “I’m actually sad I don’t get to see it,” while Rosé admitted she was secretly peeping the performance from off stage.

Lisa's Endless Energy

The demanding schedule for a stadium tour can undoubtedly take a toll on any artist’s energy, but Lisa not only kept her vivacious bounce throughout the show but made sure to transfer it to her bandmates as well. The “Money” superstar brought her mega-watt smile, perfectionist choreography, and a continuous stream of powerful and playful ad-libs throughout the show, many times Lisa hyping up her members as well. Fans could almost depend on Lisa shouting out a “Let’s go, Jennie!” or other encouraging words whenever her fellow rapping member took on a rap section.

Meanwhile, there was an endless stream of big grins and affectionate touching from Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé as consistent displays of BLACKPINK’s affection for their youngest member.

The Band's Spotlight in 'Playing With Fire'

Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosè of BLACKPINK

A rare but much-appreciated treat in K-pop concerts is when artists bring a live band. Live Korean-pop productions tend to utilize backing tracks to accompany performers, but BLACKPINK has toured with an impressive full band since their first In Your Area world tour that began in 2018. The full display of how the live band can elevate the songs came during the performance of “Playing With Fire.”

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa performed the number without any dancers during this number, proving how the four of them can just as easily command the crowd’s attention as they do with their entire ensemble. Then the extended outro for “Playing With Fire,” led by the band here, particularly proved how significant having a live guitar, bass, drums, keys and more instruments can upgrade the experience and make for one of the best musical moments in the show.

The 7th Anniversary Cake

August 8, 2023, marked BLACKPINK’s seventh anniversary and with the MetLife concert marking the group’s first show since the milestone, naturally, there needed to be time to celebrate — and there was cake!

Toward the show’s end, the girls were surprised with a four-tier black and pink cake decorated with bows, flowers and cartoon renderings of the quartet. The group seemed genuinely touched by the gesture (making sure to include the cake when they posed for a group photo with the stadium audience behind them) and appreciated the details put into the dessert (Jisoo and Lisa took some of the decorative rosettes off the top of the cake and began dancing the viral choreography of the former’s “Flower” choreography ).

Rosé's Sentimental Story Time

In addition to the sentimental response from the surprise anniversary cake, it also elicited some sweet stories from Rosé. The “On the Ground” star began saying how, “It’s been quite a ride…” before Jisoo sweetly told her, “Don’t cry.” Rosé told the audience that she had gotten her tears out before and told a story when she was thinking about BLACKPINK’s seven years together. While reminiscing on her pride in the group, the  Born Pink  track “The Happiest Girl” suddenly started playing in the background. The four even sang a little bit of the fan-favorite B-side.

That wasn’t the only story Rosé shared, retelling the story of meeting Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa for the first time entering YG Entertainment headquarters 10 years ago at age 16. Lisa reenacted her first impression of Rosé — hilariously giving her a shady side eye when first walking past her in the elevator. But by the time Rosé joined the three in the rehearsal studio, Lisa noticed how her future bandmate was “so cute and so shy” with Rosé saying the girls were “so welcoming.” The group reminisced on how they sang together and played guitar all night after that first meet.

Jennie's Sweet Words for BLINKs

Throughout the concert, it was nearly impossible to keep your eyes off Jennie anytime the singer-rapper-actress delivered her lines or was displayed across the massive LED screen. From her fierce stage demeanor (seen in  sure-to-go viral clips  from the show) to her sweet side coming out when speaking to BLINKs, the full range of Jennie was on display at MetLife Stadium.

After Rosé’s adorable story time during the encore, the crowd saw Jennie at her softest when she shared some reflections with the audience.

“We’re just really happy to share our today with you guys,”  The Idol  star told the audience. “We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for every single one of you guys out there and we could not thank you guys enough.”

The Funny, Failed Finale Poll

Since the Born Pink world tour officially kicked off in Seoul last October, the show’s setlist always concluded with an extended, turned-up take on BLACKPINK’s beloved 2017 single “As If It’s Your Last.” But for this new leg of stadium dates, the group seemed to want to switch things up at the end — or, at least, they tried.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa tried to ask the crowd what song was their favorite from the night (laughing when they heard someone yell “The Happiest Girl”) and decided between themselves on three songs they’d gauge which had the loudest crowd response. After “Kill This Love” got a heap of roars, asking the crowd about “As If It’s Your Last” garnered noticeably heavier howls, and the girls forwent the poll and decided to get right into the track to close the night. As much as fans appreciated BLACKPINK looking to switch things up for the night, the fans clearly wanted to hear as many songs as possible and proved how even the group’s earliest singles have a lasting brilliance.

By Alice Dear

What songs will Pink perform on her Summer Carnival 2024 tour? What we know about the UK setlist so far.

Listen to this article

Pink, 44, is heading back out on tour this summer as she revives her Summer Carnival tour for 2024, kicking off the UK leg of the tour on 11th June at Cardiff's Principality Stadium before moving on to venues in London, Dublin, Liverpool and Glasgow.

The Who Knew , So What and Raise Your Glass hitmaker will be joined by special guests during the tour's run including The Script, Rag 'N' Bone Man, Gayle and KidCutUp.

However, it will be Pink's hits the fans will be most looking forward to seeing her perform - especially when many of them are performed while she flies around the air doing aerial acrobatics.
