We have had a lot of Redditors coming to our sub-reddit asking what they, their friends, or their family need to see when then come to DC. Almost all of them end up with 10-15 posts in them, but none have a truly complete guide to our eccentric city.

    There's an infinite amount of things to do in DC. I'd recommend a walk on the national mall, visit the Smithsonian museums, go see the White House, go get a guided tour of Capital Hill (the basement is always open to tourism and it's a museum). Go see the Declaration and Constitution.

Hotel rates are so much cheaper on the weekend (one hotel I am looking at is $99.00 Friday, Saturday & Sunday, then goes up to $199.00 during the week!), I didn't know if it would be better to visit then or not.
