We joined this tour on May 2nd, and it was such a great way to experience Miami. The staff was very friendly, and the boat was super clean which is a big +. The boat we went one was the island queen cruises double decker boat. On the tour we were able to see so many celebrity mansions and sun set. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend the tour.

The captain was yelling at us from the moment we arrived on the boat with a crappy attitude. At one point he thought two people were using the bathroom at once and he banged on the door so hard until the person got out that he put in a wrist brace. Only one person was in the bathroom and he was pissed! After that he kept watching everyone hoping to find bad behavior, and a passenger allegedly took a pill from his bag and took it (could have been a Tylenol for all we know) and he grabbed the passenger and yelled “this c*nt is the reason this charter is cancelled!” then he took the persons bag dumped it out on the boat deck. He cancelled the charter at this point, about 1.5 hours into it, and kept yelling expletives the whole way back. He instructed the staff to no longer serve any food or beverages, he turned off the music, and we had to turn back around. The bartender Toni also got very aggressive and rude at this point. The whole time on the return he’s yelling at everyone and cursing us out. There were about 60 people on the boat, he didn’t have to be so unprofessional and rude to all of us. Captain Adam should be fired for assaulting a passenger... It was honestly the worst boat charter experience Ive witnessed and the most aggressive and rude captain. He needs anger management. Our ample vessels feature multiple decks with indoor and outdoor spaces. We will update this page as our schedule expands and restrictions lift.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Social distancing.

• Seating will observe social distancing protocols and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We can make accommodations for family units.
• All queue areas will be marked with social distancing parameters. Our ticket counter features plexiglass to minimize contact between employees and customers.

Employee Requirements

• All staff uniforms will adhere to CDC guidelines. This will include masks that will be disinfected/changed for every tour.

Cleaning & Sanitation

• We will be providing hand sanitizing stations throughout the vessel, at boarding on the dock, on every deck, as well as near food and beverage areas.
• All team members are trained to thoroughly clean and disinfect key surfaces and areas before, during, and after each tour. This includes but is not limited to handrails, backs of chairs, doorknobs, bars, counters, tables, bathroom sinks, toilet handles, etc. These ongoing tasks will be completed per the CDC and Miami-Dade County guidelines.
• Our bathrooms feature individual private stalls. These areas will be serviced throughout the tour and will be equipped with hand dryers and disinfectant soap.

• Photo operations have been temporarily ceased.
• Our schedule will fit within the parameters of the Bayside Marketplace operating hours.
• If additional steps are desired, we are happy to provide them as requested.

"We had an amazing time on Biscayne Bay with Captain Derek and Miami Happy Cruises, and I wanted to share. We went on with 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 8, 4, 3), and we had a great day. The boat is nice and clean, there is space on the front to sit, or covered in the back, or inside in air conditioning if you need to escape the heat. Captain Derek is an extremely nice guy, and the kids loved him! We went out to the sandbar, and got to relax in the water for a little while. There were some snacks and drinks provided for us, and coolers for anything else that we brought to eat or drink. Overall a great day on the water, and really reasonably priced compared to others. Can’t wait to go again!"

About the captain.

I’m Captain Derek and I came to Miami over 30 years ago from the Caribbean island of Trinidad to go to college. I fell in love with Miami and its people and made it my home. As a result I have explored the amazing waters of  Biscayne Bay , The Keys and surrounding areas. Above all we take pride in offering you personalized yacht charters in Miami.

It has always been my dream to share the joy I get cruising these wonderful waters with others. Finally a few years ago I pursued that dream by becoming a captain and acquiring the yacht “Happy Ours”. I hope I can have you aboard to share your favorite time of day and get to know your story.
