Sea West selected by Georgia State University to be the primary contractor for turn-key construction of their groundbreaking CHARA Array. During this time, Eric Simison designs and patents a robotic observatory enclosure for CHARA.

Sea West performs preliminary site inspection, site construction, and observatory enclosure installation for the 2-meter Faulkes Telescope atop Haleakala in Hawaii. Sea West performs initial site assessment and observatory feasibility study for the Magdalena Ridge Observatory in New Mexico.

Sea West provides site evaluations for the Outrigger Telescopes Project by JPL after visiting renowned observatories at Palomar, Kitt Peak, Mt. Graham, Mt. Hopkins, La Palma Canary Islands, and Anderson Mesa.

Sea West is awarded the construction contract for the Murillo Family Observatory at California State University – San Bernardino.

Sea West is awarded design-build contracts for multiple space domain awareness, satellite laser ranging, and free space optical communication groundstations.

Sea West is awarded multiple observatory retrofit and dome installation contracts from Mount Sac Observatory, Cal State Northridge Observatory, Garvey Ranch Observatory, Thatcher Observatory, and Saddleback College Observatory.

Sea West is awarded a design-build contract to deliver the first fully autonomous remotely-operated observatory within a National Park at the Great Basin Observatory.

Sea West is awarded a design-build contract for delivering an autonomous, remotely-operated observatory at College of the Desert.

Sea West is awarded the construction contract for the Rancho Mirage Observatory. Connected to the Rancho Mirage Public Library, this observatory is a prime example of a municipality promoting outreach and education through a publicly accessible science center.

Sea West is awarded observatory automation retrofit and dome installation contract for the Allan I. Carswell Observatory at York University in Toronto.

Sea West is awarded contract from Glendale Community College for observatory installation and site work. Sea West is also awarded dome, telescope, and observatory upgrade contract from Santa Monica College.

Sea West is awarded design-build contract for Bruneau Dunes State Park Observatory in Idaho, observatory retrofit for the Anderson Observatory at Virginia Tech, and observatory construction and consulting contract for the Jackson College Space Observatory located in Michigan.

Sea West is awarded multiple observatory construction and consulting contracts for private astronomy clients. Sea West is also awarded construction contract from Skies the Limit Observatory outside Joshua Tree National Park.

SeaWestern is a SCOTT-Certified Repair Center, which offers fast turnaround on the repair of SCOTT SCBAs, Flow testing and Hydrostatic testing. Our DOT-approved hydrostatic test facility is certified to test all SCBA manufacturers cylinders. Refilling service is also available.

Mobile SCOTT-Certified Flow Testing

SeaWestern has a full time SCOTT-Certified Mobile Technician to assist departments with complying with manufacturer's recommendation that SCBAs are flow tested annually, You supply the SCBA and air and we will get your SCBAs flow tested.

Mobile Compressor Service

Similar to your engines, providing routine maintenance on your compressor greatly increases the longevity of your breathing air system. Our Factory-Certified Technician is available to get the task done. Additionally, when your compressor is down, it needs immediate attention.

Quarterly Air Test Program

Sea Western has established a popular Quarterly Air Test Kit program to assist your department with meeting the new NFPA 1500 standard. Every quarter, an Air Test Kit is automatically shipped to your department. You simply fill the empty container, seal the package, and mail. An air quality certificate will be mailed back to you.

Snorkel Key West and Look for Dolphins

On this family-friendly cruise, we venture out to balmy Backcountry waters to snorkel in Key West’s wildlife sanctuary before searching the Gulf of Mexico’s backcountry’s balmy waters before searching for Key West’s dolphins in the crystal clear waters for our local dolphin pods at play.

The tour starts on our Seabreeze catamaran, a 45ft Corinthian powercat, where you’ll have plenty of space to relax under some covered shade while the captains and mates share their knowledge of the ecology and wildlife of Key West. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask questions and gain new insights into our tropical paradise!

Jump in and discover the natural beauty under the sea with starfish, rays, turtles, conch, corals, sponges, and tropical fish. We will always bring you to the best snorkel spot of the day – from the artificial reef at Archer Key to the famous Great Florida Reef, the only reef located in the continental United States! Never snorkeled? No problem! All equipment is provided along with expert instruction. Come back aboard and wash off with our fresh water rinse and relax with a cold drink in the shade.

Every trip is different as we cruise along searching for dolphins and appreciating whatever Mother Nature offers up on any given day: Dolphins, eagle rays, sea turtles, ospreys, frigate birds, and migratory birds. During this time you’ll observe dolphins cavorting in their natural habitat among deserted tropical islands.

We include snacks, soda, and bottled water onboard throughout your cruise. After your snorkel, we will pop open the beer cooler for some complimentary drinks as you laze in the sun. For your convenience, there is a large head (bathroom) below-deck.

Be sure to book early as we limit this tour to 36 guests, well below boat capacity, to provide a spacious setting for everyone!

Please note that while dolphin pods are numerous in Key West’s backcountry and often seen, we can’t guarantee dolphin sightings on every trip.
