Scotty was awesome, amazing, and he gets better and better every time I see him which was my 10th time. The concert was an 1 hour and 1/2 long and it was worth every second. Wish I had 5 more minutes. Awesome show!!!!

Scotty McCreery captured our attention during his stint on "American Idol." His singing and the songs he chose helped me enjoy the genre of country music more. So, when we saw that he was performing at Centennial Hall (University of Arizona), Tucson, we bought tickets for the show and were very excited.
First, we attend lectures at Centennial Hall so the issue regarding accoustics is not really a problem for the most part. However, with the presence of 3-4 guitars, keyboard and drums plus amps, the music was much louder than the performer...we saw Scotty's mouth moving and we knew sound was emanating from him BUT we could not hear the lyrics distinctly. I think if the music had been powered down a bit and/or the building had better accoustics, this would not have been an issue.
Enjoyed Scotty's personal footnotes which preceded some of the songs and it gave some insight to him as a person. He uses music/lyrics to express his feelings & emotions. Having said that, perhaps he is shy (as many performers are) and did not engage the audience (theater-goers in the front rows) much. Then I considered the possibility that he was "saving" himself for the audience members who had paid to visit him backstage. All in all, it was a high energy show with a group of wonderfully talented performers. It was good to see a grown up Scotty McCreery with 8-9 years of professional experience.
Absolutely amazing! It was such a great time. My uncle and I went; I have seen Scotty, though, two times in the past so going a third time made me so happy! He never disappoints with his stage presence. Love him and I loved the Casino Ballroom. Five stars!

SCOTTY McCREERY Announces Dates For 2023 ‘Damn Straight Tour’
Following the release of Same Truck: The Deluxe Album , Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery announces his Damn Strait Tour , boasting over 20 dates in 2023 through the end of April. The fan club presale will be available tomorrow, Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by the general on sale this Friday, Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. local time.
For tickets and more information visit ScottyMcCreery.com .
“Looking forward to hitting the road in 2023 with the Damn Strait Tour ,” said McCreery. “I’ve enjoyed my time at home learning to be a Dad to Avery, but I’ve missed being onstage with the band and performing for the fans. Can’t wait to see everyone in the new year!”
The namesake of the tour and McCreery’s fifth consecutive chart-topper, RIAA Gold-certified “ Damn Strait ” (which stayed at No.1 for three weeks), also landed at No. 4 on the Billboard Year End Country Airplay chart along with being named among Billboard ’s “10 Best Country Songs of 2022,” sharing the single marked “one of the biggest chart hits of McCreery’s 11-year career,” while praising, “McCreery has become known for letting fans follow his life through songs like ‘This Is It’ and ‘Five More Minutes,’ but he’s also shown he has an ear for a great outside song, like this cut from Jim Collins and Trent Tomlinson.”
Current single “ It Matters To Her ” continues climbing, reaching No. 32 on this week’s Mediabase chart. He recently premiered the official music video, offering some behind-the-scenes footage as he and wife Gabi prepared for the arrival of their son Merrick Avery. “To me, the video shows off how much of a rock star Gabi was during her pregnancy,” McCreery shared with PEOPLE.com . “It also captures how much we both enjoyed getting ready for Avery’s arrival.” Both songs are available on Same Truck: The Deluxe Album .
McCreery, who was just ranked No. 13 on the Top 50 list of 2022 Country Airplay Artists by Billboard , was a co-writer on all but four of the 18 tracks, Same Truck: The Deluxe Album , which is available now on vinyl, CD and digital formats, and was produced by Frank Rogers , Derek Wells and Aaron Eshuis . The project showcases McCreery’s lauded songwriting skills with six new songs, including “ On It ,” reconnecting McCreery with “In Between” co-writers Jessi Alexander, Jonathan Singleton and Rogers, which was one of three consecutive No. 1 singles from his RIAA Gold-certified album Seasons Change . Celebrated by Billboard as a continuation of “his winning arc of songs pulled from chapters of his own life,” “ Small Town Story ” finds McCreery joined by his 2013 Platinum-certified Top 10 smash “See You Tonight” co-writers Ashley Gorley and Zach Crowell.
As the North Carolina native looks forward to his first Christmas as a dad to Avery, McCreery has been celebrating the holidays as a performer on “CMA Country Christmas,” streaming now on Hulu and Disney+ and re-airing on ABC on December 13, while CMT shared a rocking performance of Elvis Presley’s “ Santa Claus is Back in Town ” from McCreery’s “Campfire Sessions.” Earlier this month, he was the spotlight artist for a sold-out Opry Country Christmas show in Nashville.
Additionally, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will premiere Five More Minutes: Moments Like These on Dec. 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. It is the second film inspired by his 2018 Double-Platinum certified No. 1 hit “Five More Minutes” and stars Ashley Williams and Lucas Bryan. The movie is not a sequel to last year’s Five More Minutes but has a brand-new storyline. McCreery once again serves as an Executive Producer, but he does not appear in the movie, as it was filmed during the last month of wife Gabi’s pregnancy.
McCreery is gearing up to close out another landmark year with four remaining shows in 2022, including three acoustic co-headlining shows with Lee Brice. Both artists will be on stage for the entire concert, and they will trade off songs with each other, providing a more intimate concert experience than usual.

Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers and Brent Anderson and produced by Rogers, Derek Wells, and Aaron Eshuis, “Cab in a Solo” offers the first taste of new music from McCreery since the release of his 2021 album Same Truck . Stream “Cab in a Solo” HERE .
Upon its release, Taste of Country declared “McCreery’s country roots shine.” With a hint of neotraditional country and dash of 90’s country nostalgia, the heartbreak track finds the happily married father in unfamiliar territory – lamenting a failed relationship.
“Cab in a Solo” follows the recent success of “It Matters to Her” the fastest climbing single of McCreery’s career. The singer/songwriter has earned five consecutive No. 1 hits in the last few years including RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 “Damn Strait” and RIAA Gold-certified No. 1 “You Time , ” all found on Same Truck : The Deluxe Album.
Earlier this summer McCreery joined the Brooks & Dunn REBOOT Tour 2023 . He is currently out on the road for his own headlining tour with 25+ dates through the fall.

About Anne Wilson:
One of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, Anne Wilson is a true “rebel” in modern music. The Lexington, Ky. native, known for her transcendent vocal and down-to-earth storytelling, recently released REBEL (The Beginning), a three-pack of songs fusing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of Country, and allowing the emerging powerhouse to innovate as her career builds momentum. Co-produced by Jeff Pardo and Jonathan Smith, the project kicks off with two singles bridging Wilson’s sonic influences. The hurricane force encouragement of “Rain In The Rearview” stands as Wilson’s debut Country single, while the soaring ballad “Strong” will simultaneously aim to continue the success she has earned in Contemporary Christian. Taking the music world by storm, Wilson delivered her first public performance at 15, singing “What a Beautiful Name” at her brother’s funeral in a moving expression of faith which soon went viral. A few short years later, her 2021 debut single “My Jesus” became a PLATINUM-certified single and hit No.1 on Billboard ’s Christian Airplay chart. Since then, she has tallied more than 730M global streams, made her Grand Ole Opry debut and scored a GRAMMY nomination for her 2022 debut album My Jesus . She continues to thrill live audiences, performing over 250 shows in the first two years of her career, and is currently on her entirely sold-out headlining My Jesus Tour.
ABOUT GREYLAN JAMES:
From the moment his Papaw gifted him his first guitar at the age of five, one of Nashville’s most exciting young breakout Country stars Greylan James knew he was meant to be a musician. The Knoxville-raised singer/songwriter has been manifesting his vision of Country music stardom since his earliest days: from those cleats and cowboy hats he wore to school to playing every sort of live show imaginable from tailgates to patios and dive bars to funerals around his hometown. Since moving to Music City eight years ago, Greylan has become a “celebrated songwriter” ( Country Now ) earning cuts from some of Country music’s most notable artists including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, Breland and more, most recently earning his first No. 1 with Jordan Davis’ smash hit “Next Thing You Know.” To date, Greylan’s songbook has amassed more than 650 million streams. And while Greylan has undoubtedly been incredibly successful penning hits for others in the writer’s room, he’s ready to strike out on his own with the recent release of his anticipated debut single “ Young Man ” (BMLG Records). Co-written alongside esteemed Nashville songwriters Jacob Davis and Josh Miller, and dedicated to Greylan’s late grandfather, the reflective song of notching wisdom from one’s elders is his most personal song yet. After joining Old Dominion on the road over the summer, Greylan heads out on Cole Swindell’s TWELVE TOUR this fall beginning October 12 in Fargo, ND. For a full list of tour dates and more, visit GreylanJames.com .
About Noah Hicks: Raised on a chicken farm in Carrollton, GA, Noah Hicks brings an authenticity that’s as real as the dirt roads he grew up on. After making the move to Nashville, he quickly found his place among some of the city’s most respected writing circles. But it’s not just his ear for a good song that sets him apart; he prides himself on his energetic live shows and undeniable connection with fans. Sharing the stage with names like HARDY, Ernest, Justin Moore, and Parker McCollum, and making appearances at festivals like CMA Fest, Noah’s energy is felt far beyond Music Row. Since signing with RED Creative Group in 2020, he’s amassed over 60 million streams and collaborated with artists like Rhett Akins, Ashley Cooke, Travis Denning, and Jon Langston. Two of his standout tracks, “I Can Tell You’re Small Town” and “Dirt On It,” have proven Noah’s ability to authentically and naturally connect with fans. The former sparked an organic TikTok trend, with over 29K videos created and counting, while the latter has been embraced by NFL and MLB stadiums, organically finding its way into the ears of sports fans.

He’s the American Idol kid, the preternaturally youthful, aw-shucks redhead who, at 17, won the reality singing competition back when it still mattered, and dropped the inoffensive debut single “I Love You This Big.” That reputation, polished and squeaky clean, tells some cynical country fans all they need to know about the type of music he makes. Surely, Scotty McCreery can’t do hard country.
McCreery, sipping on a Michter’s bourbon, two cubes, shakes his head. Straightening up in his chair in the bar of the Virgin hotel on Nashville’s Music Row, he says he’s heard it all before.
“They think, ‘Oh, I know this kid,’ but they got to know me when I was a teenager,” he says, letting some rare heat escape through his cool veneer. “Hey, little Scotty has grown up, and he’s a man and he likes to go have a cold beer on Friday with the boys.”
“There’s a lot of layers to me that people don’t know,” he says. “Hopefully they hear this record and get to know me.”

“I don’t like a cigar — I love a cigar,” he says. McCreery keeps a few hundred “sticks,” as he calls them, in a humidor at his home in Raleigh and a smaller cache in a little desktop humidor at his apartment in Nashville. “My granddaddy always smoked a pipe and he had a bird book, and I’d sit next to him and we’d look out his den and watch birds while he smoked. That’ll be old man Scooter one day, just sitting in the den smoking my cigar.”
He plays a lot of golf too (he’s a six handicap), and got an idea for one of Rise & Fall ’s most twangy tracks while on the course with buddies. “And Countin’” stemmed from an offhand remark he made when asked what number beer he was crushing: “Four, and counting!” he shouted back, and immediately thought, “There’s a country song.”
“And Countin’,” like Rise & Fall ’s rollicking opener, “Little More Gone,” and the irresistibly clever “Can’t Pass the Bar,” all have elements of Brooks’ “Ain’t Going Down (‘Til the Sun Comes Up)” in their DNA. They’re unassailable good-time drinking songs, and McCreery delivers them with a natural ease.
RS Country Music Picks for the Week of September 20th
Scotty mccreery readies his fifth studio album 'same truck', against all odds, live concerts are coming back this fall.
“Before I ever had a Number One, it was like, ‘What’s the trend? Who’s the hottest writers in town? How do we get the radio hit?’’ he says of the uncertain road that led to “Southern Belle,” a song he didn’t write. “I think back to what was hot on the radio back when I wasn’t having a lot of success, and it wasn’t stylistically what I do well. I could try to go that route to get a little more edgy, but man, I just want to sing a country song.”
McCreery did that by signing with Nashville indie Triple Tigers, doubling down on songwriting, and releasing the 2018 album Seasons Change , which included the country ballad “Five More Minutes.” It became his first Number One and ultimately paved the way for Rise & Fall .
He sees the new album as arriving at the perfect moment, when country music and its storytelling tradition are booming. McCreery says he loves what both Beyoncé and Post Malone are doing to expand country’s audience.
“There’s more eyeballs than ever on country music, and if somebody goes to listen to the new Beyoncé album — which I think is great — and somehow through the algorithm they find out who George Jones or Merle Haggard is? How cool is that?” McCreery says.
He’s equally bullish on the new AI-assisted song by Randy Travis, who recently joined him onstage to induct McCreery as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. McCreery is concerned about unchecked AI voice tech and says he supported Tennessee’s new ELVIS law to protect musicians from unauthorized AI voice clones, but admits he cried when he heard Travis’s “Where That Came From.”
“I think there needs to be limits today on AI and what they can do,” he says, “but for a unique situation…[that lets] Randy Travis get his voice back, and he was there in the studio and put his stamp on that song and believes in the song, then by God, let’s do it.”

“It’s a weird feeling,” he says. “I’m the guy that, at least professionally, I’ve been doing it the longest, but I’m also still the young one.”
As Rise & Fall suggests, he’s also the confident one. Draining the last of his bourbon, McCreery gets ready to head back to his nearby apartment to watch his Carolina Hurricanes play on TV. Maybe he’ll even smoke a cigar.

Scotty McCreery Reflects on Friendship with 'Influence' Garth Brooks: 'I'll Always Be Indebted to Him'
"He's just always been an influence, but to be able to say he's a friend, too, is pretty cool for me," said the country star of Brooks
Scotty McCreery is opening up about his friendship with Garth Brooks .
Recently, the American Idol season 10 winner, 30, sat down with Holler to discuss his fifth studio album , Rise & Fall , out now. During the interview, the “This Is It” singer-songwriter got candid about his biggest musical influences who shine through on his 13-track project, one of whom is his pal Brooks.
“I love Garth Brooks. You're going to hear a little Garth on this record,” McCreery said of the 62-year-old country icon. “These songs I'm proud to sing now, but I was influenced by songs that were like that growing up. I'm proud to have them in my catalog now.”

Speaking more about Brooks’ influence, the “Slow Dance” country artist said he grew up listening to the legend’s music and thus drew plenty of inspiration from it for Rise & Fall .
“Garth is Garth. There are no other Garths out there,” said McCreery. “Ever since I got started, he's been so kind to me and my family, inviting us out to his shows. I've gotten to know his family a little bit over the years, so he's just always been an influence, but to be able to say he's a friend, too, is pretty cool for me.”
Late last year, during the Opry Country Christmas show, Brooks invited the “Damn Strait” singer to join the Grand Ole Opry family, a staple institution in country music with members like Dolly Parton , Keith Urban , Carrie Underwood , and more.
Reflecting on the special occasion after his April induction, McCreery said, “The fact that [Brooks] even flew in — he was on the West Coast that weekend — to invite me [to join the Grand Ole Opry] was pretty special for me, so I'll always be indebted to him.”

This summer, Brooks resumes the next set of dates for his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, following his nearly sold-out 2023 run. Shows kick off on June 26 and wrap up on December 7.
McCreery, meanwhile, recently wrapped up his headlining Cab in a Solo Tour but told Holler he still plans to have a “busy” year with more live shows.
“I ended 2023 saying, ‘I think I'm going to be less busy in 2024.’ That ain't happening, but busy is a good thing,” he shared. “I'll never complain about it, but we're setting up this album, and we've got a lot of fun dates on the road. I get to bring my wife and baby on the bus with us, so it still feels like home out there a little bit.”
