Best time to visit australia.

Being such a large place, Australia has a wide range of climates, so all year round, there is somewhere great to visit.

Summer (December to February) can get very hot but is perfect for beach-going and other outdoor activities. In the far north, it is also the wet season, which can get quite humid, and some beaches may be closed due to jellyfish or 'stingers'.

Winter (June to August) is pleasant and dry in the north but can get quite cold in the south, especially in Tasmania and Victoria, where snowfall is common.

Spring and autumn are great times to visit Australia as the weather is milder but still warm enough for swimming in northern areas.

Regardless of daytime temperatures, nights can get very cold in the desert areas of Central and Western Australia, so prepare accordingly.

The main school holiday period is from Christmas to late January and is considered the peak travel time within Australia; expect popular tourist spots to be crowded during this time.

From large malls and boutique shopping strips to weekend arts and crafts markets and vintage shops, Australia is a top place to shop. Shopping in Australia may not be cheap, but there are plenty of unique finds and original souvenirs to bring home. Before heading home, check with your local customs officials to ensure that you are able to import certain items back into your home country. New Zealand, for example, has strict quarantine laws.

Geography and environment

The continent of Australia is known for being one of the flattest, hottest, and driest places on earth, but despite this, there is an astounding variety of terrains and environments on this island nation. While large areas of Australia are covered in desert, there are also tropical rainforests, alpine snowfields, dense bushland, beaches, gorges, lakes, and rivers to be found.

Australia’s national parks are home to many species of birds and mammals not found in the wild anywhere else in the world, including kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, and wombats.

Boasting many stunning white sand beaches, Australia has a coastline like none other. From busy Bondi to surfing icons like Bell’s Beach and Tasmania’s stunning Wineglass Bay , there are endless places to swim, surf, snorkel and paddle.

Despite Australia’s large landmass, most people tend to live in urban, coastal cities. Faster-paced cities like Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne hold much of the population, as do regional satellite cities such as Albury, Dubbo, Bunbury, Townsville, Newcastle and Geelong.

Outback towns have a unique flavor and a distinct way of life; things are slower here, and due to smaller populations, space is plentiful, with most locals relying on agriculture for a living. Venturing away from the city to visit the Outback and rural areas of Australia is highly recommended, as it gives travelers the chance to see a different side of Australia. Traverse the northern regions of Australia's iconic outback landscape on a 11 day Darwin to Broome Outback tour.

Culture and customs

With a strong history of immigration, modern Australia is made up of people from many different cultural backgrounds. This mix makes Australia an endlessly fascinating place to visit, as travelers will be exposed to a variety of different customs and cultures during their stay. From the ancient, spiritual ways of the First Nations population to the wide array of faiths, foods, and festivals on display in the big cities, Australia is a cultural melting pot.

Despite the differences, there are many things that unify the people of Australia. Sports, in particular cricket, soccer, and football (Australian Rules), are played and watched by the masses, irrespective of age, race, gender, or income. Large sporting events like the AFL Grand Final, Melbourne Cup Day, and the Boxing Day Cricket Test have universal appeal for Australians.

Australians relish public holidays, with national and state holidays offering locals time to relax with friends and family over a barbecue or picnic. Making use of Australia’s natural environment is also paramount during this time, with outdoor activities like bushwalking, swimming at the beach, or lazing in the park popular with locals.

Eating and drinking

Intrepid believes that one of the best ways of experiencing a country is by eating! Whether you're sampling street food, savoring a cheap eat, or indulging in a banquet, there are endless options to choose from wherever you are in the world.

Australia is a land that has been built by immigrants, and these multicultural influences are evident in the wide array of food available. In the cities, it’s possible to find world-class Vietnamese, Turkish, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Indian restaurants, as well as excellent gastro-pub fare. Head to the Outback, and you’ll find authentic ' bush tucker ', simple campfire meals, and sizzling barbecues.

Food to try in Australia

1. Fresh seafood

With such an impressive coastline, it’s no wonder fresh oysters, prawns, mussels, and ‘balmain bugs’ are devoured by locals and savored by visitors. For those on a budget, there’s nothing wrong with eating fish and chips on the beach.

Australia creates some of the best wines in the world at South Australia’s Barossa Valley , Western Australia’s Margaret River , and New South Wales’s Hunter Valley .

Whether you’re downing a can of VB in Victoria or sipping micro-brewed ale in Sydney, sharing a beer with mates is a social experience not to be missed when in Australia

4. Hot pies

An Australian classic – savory meat pies (or vegetable pies for vegetarians) are best eaten with tomato sauce and are easily found and served in city cafes, country bakeries, and football matches around Australia.

The weather in Australia varies depending on where in the country you are. For example, winter in Victoria and Tasmania tends to be very cold (around the 50 °F -60 °F mark), whereas, if you head further north to the Northern Territory and Queensland, temperatures in the winter months are much nicer (usually around 65 °F -77 °F ).

Is tipping customary in Australia?

Tipping isn’t mandatory in Australia; however, rounding up the bill or leaving spare change is common practice. Restaurant staff, taxi drivers and other service workers welcome tips for good service.

What is the internet access like in Australia?

Internet access is widely available in most parts of Australia, with internet cafes and Wi-Fi hot spots commonly found in urban areas. Please note that internet access won’t be available in Outback and remote areas.

Can I use my cell phone while in Australia?

Cell phone coverage is excellent in most parts of Australia, especially in large cities and urban areas. Remote, rural and mountainous places may have limited to no coverage, so be aware of this before venturing away from the city. Ensure global roaming is activated before leaving your home country if you want to use your cell phone, or you can purchase a sim card when you arrive. The provider that will have coverage in the majority of Australia is Telstra, secondly Optus and then Vodafone. A hot tip – when you are in remote areas and don’t have cell phone signal, turn your phone to flight mode which will conserve battery and prevent your phone from using data trying to search for internet signal.

What are the toilets like in Australia?

Western-style flushable toilets are the norm in Australia, and many of our campsites have proper facilities with flushing toilets. In remote areas such as the Kimberley, there is no established plumbing and therefore we have installed ‘drop toilets’. Some campsites we use are managed by the National Parks and have either eco-toilets or drop toilets, most of which are maintained regularly.

Can I drink the water in Australia?

Drinking water from taps in Australia is considered safe, unless otherwise marked. For environmental reasons, try to use a refillable water bottle rather than buying bottled water.

Are credit cards accepted widely in Australia?

Credit cards are widely accepted by shops, restaurants and cafes in Australia. Smaller establishments may only accept cash or require a minimum purchase for credit card use, so be sure to carry enough cash for smaller purchases.

What is ATM access like in Australia?

ATMs are commonly found in large cities and regional towns in Australia. ATM access will be very limited in remote areas so be aware of this before heading into national parks or the Outback.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance before traveling?

Absolutely. All passengers traveling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

Australia is a safe destination for LGBTQIA+ travelers thanks to its anti-discrimination laws, diverse population and welcoming culture. There are many LGBTQIA+ friendly neighborhoods and establishments across the country, as well as a wide variety of Pride events.

What's the transport like in Australia?

Intrepid believes half the fun of experiencing a new country is getting there, and getting around once there! Where possible, Intrepid uses local transport options and traditional modes of transport - which usually carry less of an environmental impact, support small local operators and are heaps more fun. Depending on which trip you're on while in Australia, you may even find yourself traveling overland.

Overland tours

Australia is a big place – like, huge.   Overland tours   involve a lot of time on the road covering long distances, and sometimes the landscape can be pretty barren, so bring a book or some tunes to keep you company.

What's the accommodation like in Australia?

Traveling with Intrepid is a little bit different. We endeavor to provide travelers with an authentic experience to remember, so we try to keep accommodation as unique and traditional as possible.

When traveling with us in Australia you may find yourself staying in a:

Our lodge accommodation is located outside major cities, such as near the entrance to a National Park, and has its own amenities such as a restaurant or dining room. Lodges are comfortable places to stay and offer a good night's rest after a day spent exploring the natural beauty of Australia.

Permanent Tented Campsite

There's no need to put up your tent when you spend the night in a Permanent Tented Campsite. You'll have a roof over your head and will bunk down on sleeper mats on the ground or stretcher (camp) beds, with access to a toilet/shower block. Tent sizes can vary depending on the trip you're on and the location you're visiting. Some of our permanent tented campsites are a little bit fancy, others are very simple. Sometimes you'll be sharing a tent with others in your group.

Our bush camping experiences are as diverse as Australia itself. Some offer swag camping under cover or under the twinkling stars. You could be sleeping in a tent with access to simple toilet or shower amenities or you might not have access to a shower at all. However, the scenery at these magical spots makes it worth going without a bath for a day or so. Sometimes a trip has participatory camping where everyone pitches in to help. Other times, a staff member is on hand to look after things like cooking.

We provide accommodation at a wide variety of hotels around Australia. Some are quite upmarket, others less so, but all of them offer a comfortable stay and ensuite facilities.

We use hostels on some trips which means your bed could be in a twin room or a shared dorm room. Some of these rooms come with their own facilities while others have share facilities.

What is it like traveling on a small group tour?

Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or you’re about to embark on your first trip, traveling can be as intimidating as it is exciting. That's the beauty of a small group tour. From handling the logistics and organizing amazing cultural activities to local leaders who know each destination like the back of their hand (like which street has the best markets and where to get the most authentic food), traveling on a small group tour with Intrepid will give you unforgettable travel experiences without the hassle that comes with exploring a new place. Plus, you'll have ready-made friends to share the journey with. All you have to do is turn up with a healthy sense of adventure and we’ll take care of the rest.

Does my trip to Australia support The Intrepid Foundation?

Yes, all Intrepid trips support the Intrepid Foundation. In fact, we make a donation on behalf of every traveler. Trips to Australia directly support our foundation partners, Blue Carbon Lab, Greening Australia and WWF-Australia.  Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

Blue Carbon Lab

Blue Carbon Lab is helping to mitigate climate change by restoring and protecting blue carbon in coastal wetlands. We've already lost 65% of wetlands globally, and multiple impacts, including urban development, agriculture, industry, and more, threaten these crucial blue-carbon ecosystems. Donations from our trips help Blue Carbon Lab to restore the natural coastal wetland areas in Victoria, Australia.

Greening Australia

Greening Australia is taking action to rebuild resilient ecosystems across Australia, from the warm waters of the Great Barrier Reef to the cool island ark of Tasmania. Donations from our trips help them tackle Australia's complex environmental challenges through large on-ground restoration projects and innovative research initiatives that help scale their impact.

Country Needs People

Country Needs People support Indigenous land and sea management in Australia. Donations help them empower Indigenous communities to rehabilitate and protect places of significance on land and sea using traditional knowledge paired with modern technology.

Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

Does my Intrepid trip include airfare?

While our Intrepid trips include many modes of transport, from tuk-tuks to overland vehicles, bullet trains and feluccas, airfare to and from your home country is not included in your tour package.

Australia`s seasons are opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere, with Winter occurring between the months of June through August, Springtime from September to November, Summertime runs between December through February, and Autumn is from March through May. Some of the best months to visit the country are between April and August, which is low season, and traveling prices for accommodations and flights are at their lowest, along with comfortable cooler weather patterns. Temperatures differ from the northern to southern states in Australia, with the north being the driest area, with hotter temperatures and humidity for most of the year, and the southern regions offer warm summers and cool winters. The wintertime in Oz is the peak tourist season throughout most of the country, especially in the warmer northern regions. Peak season tends to run from Christmas time through to the end of January when accommodations are fully booked months in advance, and the locals are enjoying their Christmas break. The northern states experience high season from June until August when the weather is warmer in the north and southern residents travel to escape the colder temperatures. October through March is the hottest time of the year, along with high humidity and frequent rainstorms. The north is intensely hot during this time of year. However, this time of year is considered to be the country`s low season when travel costs are generally lower and less crowded, if you can stand the heat then traveling during the summer low season is perfect. Cyclones can occur sometimes in Australia and are more common on the coast and in Cairns between November and May. In the west, cyclones can be more common in January and February. Guided Australia Tours Packages

Our guided trips pack the best of Australia in one vacation package so you can be sure your journey is well planned, hits the must-see’s, and includes one-of-a-kind experiences.

Who Can Go on an Escorted Australia Tour?

Escorted tours are great for seniors and older folks who may need a little extra assistance but are ready to embark on a new adventure.

Solo travelers and singles may also consider a guided trip to join in the camaraderie of a group. Joining a group trip is the perfect way to meet new friends and new travel buddies!

Is an Escorted Tour Right for Me?

The great thing about escorted tours is you’ll always have an experienced guide at hand to provide local insight and travel recommendations throughout your journey.

Many travelers prefer guided tours for their ease while visiting a foreign country. Australia is an English-speaking country and the currency works in a similar denomination to the U.S. dollar, so traveling throughout the country doesn’t have as many barriers as other foreign countries.

However, a guided tour can help you orient yourself in each destination with a professional travel guide to lead the way. Every experience is contextualized with commentary and history, giving you profound insight into your destination.

Travelers who like to travel with like-minded people may also enjoy escorted tours for the collective group experience in a new destination. If you’re curious about whether an escorted tour is right for you, our Travel Advisors are at hand to help you explore your options.

What Destinations Do Australia Escorted Tours Visit?

Most tours visit four main destinations: sydney, cairns, melbourne and uluru (ayers rock).

These destinations are where you’ll find most of Australia’s top attractions.

Many of our escorted tours begin on the east coast in Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling cruises are usually included during your Cairns adventure so you can experience the underwater wonders of the reef. See colorful coral reefs, tropical fish and sea turtles as you snorkel the warm, crystal clear waters. Onboard guides make sure you’re comfortable snorkeling before taking to the waters. Glass bottom boats and underwater observatories are also available for non-swimmers.

Melbourne is a vibrant city on the southern east coast, popular for its unique art, music, rich coffee culture, and urban adventures. It’s regarded as Australia’s most European city, with a network of hidden laneway bars, restaurants and shops that are often missed on first sight. A number of museums, galleries and music venues keep Melbourne’s love of fine arts strong, with something to do just about any day of the week. Further outside of the city you’ll find the fascinating wildlife haven of Phillip Island, home to koalas, kangaroos, and the world’s smallest penguins. Included free days allow you to explore on your own, perfect for visiting Phillip Island or perhaps a road trip journey on the Great Ocean Road.

In the Northern Territory, Uluru is the cultural and spiritual heart of Australia, where its ancient Aboriginal culture thrives among the red desert landscapes and sacred rock art of the outback. Out of the ground rise Uluru and Kata Tjuta, the monumental rock formations important to the legends and creation stories of the local indigenous cultures. At Uluru, visit this famous landmark to witness the sunrise and sunsets give the rock an otherworldly red glow, breathtaking to behold. Most trips fly into Alice Springs before continuing on to Uluru, with a day in Alice Springs to explore this outback town.

One of the best parts of visiting lesser traveled destinations on an escorted tour is experiencing Kakadu National Park. This World Heritage-listed area is home to some of the most stunning rugged landscapes in Australia, with lush wetlands, stunning gorges and ancient rock art galleries. Witness an abundance of wildlife including crocodiles, wallabies and over 280 species of birds. Plus, your experienced guides can take you to the best places in Kakadu National Park for spotting unique wildlife and the best vantage points for photography.

As one of the world’s top travel destinations and cosmopolitan cities, a visit to Sydney is a must. Explore the sparkling harbor city on a Sydney Harbour cruise, gliding past top landmarks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, and Royal Botanic Gardens. Learn what makes the Sydney Opera House a world-famous destination. Visit Bondi Beach, one of the most well-known beaches around the world. Take to the skies on the thrilling Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, or take it slow and learn the fascinating history of the Rocks district, a historic part of this dynamic city where European settlers first landed on the coast.

These packages also visit more unique destinations. The 5-day Australia Southern Capitals tour travels through Central Australia’s rural country and distinctive cities from Sydney to Melbourne, with a stop in the nation’s capital – Canberra. Your travel guide shares local legends, storied history, and travel tips along the way.

Join the Wonders of Tasmania tour for a guided journey through the spectacular landscapes, fascinating history and gourmet artisan produce of this unique island state. Visit Tasmania’s mainland port cities, including Hobart and Port Arthur. Learn the dark history of Tasmania’s convict past, explore the stunning trails of Cradle Mountain, and see the scenic bays of Freycinet National Park.

The Tastes of Southern Australia tour travels through Victoria and South Australia for a trip through rural coast and country. The trip begins in Sydney, traveling through Canberra to Melbourne, journeying on the Great Ocean Road and meeting the wildlife of Kangaroo Island. Wine tours to Barossa Valley wine region from Adelaide are also included, for a taste of Australia’s famous wine.

For a truly unforgettable experience, visit Western Australia. This incredible journey takes you to the remote and ruggedly beautiful Kimberley region in Australia’s northwest corner. Explore ancient gorges and waterfalls, see the magnificent Bungle Bungle Range, go crocodile spotting in the Ord River and camp out under a billion stars. From here, head to Broome – known as the pearl of Western Australia for its stunning coastline views and vibrant culture. Try your hand at pearl farming with an experienced guide or explore Cable Beach on horseback to witness spectacular Western Australia sunsets over the Indian Ocean.

What’s Included?

Our inclusive tours are designed to showcase the best of this incredible destination, hassle-free..

A knowledgeable and expert travel guide will meet you as soon as you land and transfer you to your hotel so you don’t have to worry about how to get there. Your travel guide will direct your experience in Australia with their profound insight and local knowledge, leading you through every step of the way.

Meet your group of fellow travelers who will share your experience. Spend time together exploring Australia’s famous cities on included excursions, with some free days to enjoy on your own.

Guided activities and excursions are also included, depending on the trip you choose. Most trips include city tours, short walks to explore each destination, cultural experiences and wildlife moments. Many of our tours also include big bucket-list experiences such as snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, visiting the Sydney Opera House and a sunset viewing of Uluru’s changing colors. Some tours also take you to special destinations for iconic Australian experiences, such as visiting the Blue Mountains or heading to Kangaroo Island to meet Australian wildlife.

Each package includes daily breakfast as well as several lunch and dinner experiences. Highlight dinner experiences at top-rated restaurants, open-air barbecues under the outback night sky, and receptions following Aboriginal dancing performances are also included in featured trips.

No need to worry about booking your hotels throughout the journey. We take care of that for you by arranging your group stays comfortable hotels and resorts highlighting local hospitality.

How Much Does an Escorted Australia Tour Cost?

An escorted tour includes the costs of a personal guide throughout the whole trip, all hotels, day tours and most meals.

The price also depends on how long you’re staying, how many destinations you’re visiting and the class of service you’re after (3-star, 4-star, 5-star).

Our low cost tours visit only a few destinations, yet still showcase unique wonders of Australia that you won’t see on any regular trip. Tours that visit multiple destinations as well as across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand tend to price at a higher range. Visiting two expensive travel destinations in one trip will always incur a higher price tag, but it’s hard to put a price on such a once-in-a-lifetime trip!

Museum of Sydney

The Museum of Sydney showcases the colonial and contemporary history of Sydney, though pictures, objects and digital media exhibitions. Pavlova is made from chewy meringue shell with a soft marshmallow center, and topped with whipped cream and fresh fruits like strawberries, kiwifruit and passionfruit. There’s a rivalry between Australia and New Zealand over the true national origins of the dish, but both countries agree it’s a truly delicious dessert.

Seafood is a national specialty throughout New Zealand, but the best place to enjoy a meal of crayfish is Kaikoura, a seaside town on the South Island. Here, you’ll enjoy the freshest catch of the day, and the crayfish is boiled and served with a tangy dipping sauce.

Found in restaurants all over Australia, the parmigiana is one of the most beloved dishes in the country. It’s made from a breaded chicken breast slathered in tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, served with french fries and salad. It originated in Italy and was brought to Australia with a wave of Italian migrants.

Top tips for finding cheap flights to Australia

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Australia flight deals.
  • When flying to Australia, disabled passengers should consider using the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) flight route. Travelers with disabilities, mobility issues, and special needs can receive airport special assistance based on their requests, like baggage assistance, medical and safety assistance, and specially equipped wheelchairs at LAX Airport.
  • Airport lounges are typically thought of as one of the best places to unwind for passengers as they wait for their flights. Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is the airport of choice for most economic travelers who wish to relax at an affordable lounge before boarding their flights from the US to Australia. Before takeoff, budget travelers can simply and affordably unwind in the Delta Sky Club.
  • Parents who want to take their children on vacation to Australia from the US can think about taking a flight on Virgin Australia from Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney (SYD). This airline offers nonstop service between the airports of LAX and SYD. By using direct flights, you can travel from the US to Australia in the shortest amount of time feasible, lowering the risk that your children will become exhausted before they arrive in Australia.
  • If your flight from the US is scheduled to land in Australia at night, think about the possibility of lodging in a closer hotel to SYD Airport. The Aerotel Hotel, located inside the international Terminal 1, is one of the best and nearest places to stay when visitors arrive in Sydney late at night.
  • Los Angeles Airport or Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) are two major airport options for those travelers who want to go from the USA to Australia as quickly as possible. These are the main US airports that serve as the bases for airlines that operate direct flights to SYD Airport in Australia.
  • The vast southern continent of Australia is served by a series of international airports that link its major regions with the outside world. Perth Airport (PER) and Port Hedland International Airport (PHE) are gateways to the plains of Western Australia, while Darwin International Airport (DRW) unlocks the region of the Northern Territory.
  • The more populous southern half of the continent is dominated by the cities of Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne in the east, all of which provide numerous flights from the US to Australia. Virgin Australia offers nonstop service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney (SYD) and Melbourne (MEL), while Jetstar provides flights from Honolulu (HNL) to Sydney and Brisbane.
  • The eastern territory of Queensland provides the longest uninterrupted stretch of coastland in Australia, anchored by Brisbane Airport (BNE) and its city at the most southern point. Brisbane Airport is a good starting point to explore northern points along the Australian coast of the Coral Sea, or you can stay closer to home after your flight from the US to Australia and discover the legendary Gold Coast.
  • There are no major airports that service the interior of the Australian continent, so if you wish to visit, you’ll have to fly from Brisbane Airport into a regional airport like Mt. Isa Airport or Charleville Airport. Both provide access to the Western reaches of Queensland, into the heart of the province of the Northern Territory and the state of South Australia.
  • To explore the northern reaches of Australia, it will be necessary to get a flight from Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne into Darwin International Airport (DRW), which is the gateway to the area. From there, you can set your sights on Derby and Wyndham in Western Australia as well as the coastal areas of the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Top 5 airlines flying to Australia

All was good, the only thing was it didn't run on time.

The staff and crew on board were excellent. Business class however, was very weird. I thought we would have individual pods, but the way it was set up was unexpected. Not very private and If you wanted to lay down, you had to have an entire bed made up for you by the crew, rather than how Delta one works where you could just lie down whenever you feel like it. It was a 16 hour flight. I chose not to have my bed made, and that turned out to be a good idea because everybody who had their bed made had to wait for the crew to roll up their mattresses. So strange!

They announced food service but then never came around. We also couldn’t land so kept trying to get to runway and then had to come up and go around happened like 3 times and cause the child next to me to start throwing up

The recline on the seat in front of me came back so that I was staring at the top of the man’s head in front of me the whole trip. He refused to bring his seat back up twice every time he was instructed to do so and only relented when he had a tray of good in front of him. And then right back in my lap!!! Horrible man!! I complained to the staff multiple times, but no one would address the issue. Otherwise, it would have been a perfect flight.

There was a snafu with confirming seats at check which left us in limbo for the second leg of our trip. I believe the ANZ app is not well integrated with the systems at the terminal resulting in this disconcerting error.

Carring crew, nice ambiance of the cabin, comfortable beds, good food well served. We liked everything.

The pilot tried to make up for lost time due to delays that were out of her control. She communicated the issues openly and clearly and made every effort to do what she could to alleviate issues.

2 of the 6 economy toilets were out of order. Drinks were not offered often enough - you have to order on-screen, which is often unavailable. Snacks and Milo ran out very early. Crew was fine but I think there was a sticking issue

So here's the rub - my flight was booked through Chatdeal even though I bought it under the Kayak umbrella. All the return flights were theoretically through Air New Zealand, however except for the initial leg from New Zealand, they were all partnered flights. So when I arrived at the airport in New Zealand they could only issue me my ticket to Fiji. Once in Fiji I had to do some serious leg work and finagling to get my ticket to Los Angeles through Fiji Air. This included a monitored covid RAT that I wasn't aware I needed to do. So I gave the score I did because of the complexity and annoyance created in the process of getting a boarding pass for my Nadi-LA flight.

Flight attendants are always pleasant and helpful. Pilot kept us updated.

Business class Seats on the A350 from Nan to YVR were wonderful. The flight crew was okay but could do with better training. Toilets were clean but ran out of paper towels towards the end of the flight. The food/menu and the wine offered really needs considerable improvement. Dinner options were either Bolani, a beef sandwich (even this could be made much better), or paneer butter masala. Unfortunately, if you are not a fan of Fijian food, there isn’t much choice. Dessert was either turmeric ice cream or fruits but unfortunately, they were out of fruit! So the only option was turmeric ice cream. I’m not certain how many passengers like turmeric but I am not one of them. They need to cater to a more diverse group of people. Perhaps they need a new chef? The movies& tv shows were mostly older so I didn’t find that interesting either. It was however, fun to view the plane’s exterior cameras as we take off and land. The best thing about this flight are the business class seats.

Comfortable as one can get in Economy, food was very good, staff were super friendly & efficient.

Really liked the plane and business class seat. Food was ok but could be better. Service was very good.

Better connections, much better cabin crew, much cleaner cabin that Qantas, American and probably other carriers.

Better connections, much better cabin crews, much cleaner aircraft than Qantas, American and probably others.

Fiji left without me because American Airlines was too stupid to get to LAX on time. Fiji should have offered a standby on another flight but they told me tough luck. I will never fly with this company again.

The A350 aircraft business class experience was very good. Comfortable and well appointed pod, and supplemental bed pad available for sleeping. Food was very good.

Business class seats and amenities were excellent, crew very attentive. Slept well. Food good, lounge experience nice. Would fly them again. A350 aircraft excellent, very quiet.

The flight attendants were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything ran on time. I highly recommend Fiji Airways.

The experience was lovely in every respect. The crews were delightful.

The international flight from Sydney to Dallas had great food. I have travelled a lot over the years and this has been the most memorable in my experience so far.

flight delayed, wait in crowded gate. staff inattentive. had to remind them to get my coat from their closet. not many new movies, media choices were limited (nothing compared to Emirates.) Lounge was crowded

flight delayed, wait in crowded gate. staff inattentive. had to remind them to get my coat from their closet. not many new movies, media choices were limited (nothing compared to Emirates.)

Initial flight was cancelled so moved to an alternative flight. As a result, stuck in a middle seat. Flight then place in holding pattern prior to landing resulting in a very late trip home.

There was nothing I didn’t like, prices a little lower would help

Flight delay was informed at the last minute. Food quality is not up to Qantas standard I was unable to book an online boarding pass on any of my 6 flights.

Following a marathon flight riddled by delays and changes from Santiago, Chile, my flight to Melbourne from Sydney was on schedule but I was transferred to the next flight. The reason by ticketing and the floor manager was I missed the entry to flight by one minute! That's right, the emphasised that if I was 1 minute earlier I would be on the flight. I asked what was the point them emphasising 1minute overdue and how that helped me or the situation. They didn't care at all. Replying that if it was one minute earlier they would've done something and smirking delivering the information. Australian's do call Australia home, Qantas calls Australian's suckers.

Rescheduled after ticket purchased and issued, not 2 or 3 times and not a fourth but by 5 times, by Qantas, that's right, 5 changes! Forcing an overnight stay in Chile and need for visa. Qantas can no longer provide basic services as a national or international service provider. Professionalism is extinct and the provider needs to be mentored and educated in perfecting who to operate as an airline. Qantas is the spirit of Australian dissatisfaction.

Amazing! Was put on the earlier flight and I requested for an aisle seat and was given it. Thanks Qantas!

The staff we fantastic and seemed to work very well with each other

Fine. Though no food or entertainment so the survey needs to be updated with those options.

Backpack should NOT allowed put in the flight bin , only put it under the seat. I can't find space put my carry on luggage!!! and I pay for it ! that was very bad experience

Fantastic. Smooth boarding with an infant. Never experienced it with any other carriers.

This was a flight operated by Lufthansa. See me prior comments, which were meant for this experience. The CSA, Ashley, should be reprimanded if not fired for incompetence, being rude, and very, very slow. She was whispering to other CSAs, blaming my flight change on others, unable to give me a seat assignment, telling me could not help without offering any advice (I travel 200,000 miles a year and am a consultant to the airlines, so I know how this gets done PRETTY DAMN WELL). Then, she gave me literally the worst seat on the airline (yes, there were other seats open) - the one right next to the bathroom that was so bad the other PAX next to me left to move to another seat. My seat kept getting rammed (3x) by the crew with their carts (no turbulence to speak of), other passengers grabbing the seat to get in or out of the bathroom, and listening to the bathroom flush all night.

This was a Lufthansa flight, not United. The CSA at the counter, Ashley, was not only incompetent, but quite rude. Me and two other PAX waited over 7 minutes standing in front of her and another CSA and they ignored us. We joked that we must have accidently taken invisibility pills. She could have at least said "I'll be with you in a moment, I'm currently....". I could go on about how rude she and the other CSAs were (whispering, not communicating with me, blaming the situation on others, etc.). She would not work for me. Then, she gave me literally the worst seat on the plane. the worst. My seat kept getting bumped (rammed twice by the crew with their carts and about every 5 minutes by someone using the bathroom), listening to the bathroom all night, crowded seat, etc.

My seat was broken. WiFi didn’t work. Gate crew at HOU were rude and condescending. Treated all the passengers badly. Bad experience, United.

First flight of the day… MINIMUM FUEL! 15 minute landing delay at HOU due to fog turned into a 2+ hour delay! Rather than circle, they had to divert to another city to refuel! Sat on tarmac at Austin to refuel. We ALL missed our connections! The crew, including pilots, were clueless. Crew was really a mess. At HOU, Untied employees were exceedingly rude to all. It was pitiful.

Food wasn’t very good, old business seating configuration on an old A340

An hour and a half late is UNACCEPTABLE. The negative impact to our family is unconscionable. And for the price we were forced to pay...

Standard flight experience, but there is only power at the seat to row 20 on the aircraft, on my initial check in it did not say that was the case

Flight was delayed for almost 3 hours. Communication of gate change was poor. Email and screen said one gate and it was a different gate from that. Gate changed first to 64 B and then to 64 C. Originally it was 68B. 64C was not communicated properly!

This was a red eye return, so I doubt there would be anyway to make it better. Other than adding beds.

Direct nonstop flight was great. Flight was delayed and the crew announced a 2h delay on the sound system. 30 min or so later I hear my name on the sound system for immediate board. Several other passangers were late too. Reason: The crew incorrectly announced a 2h delay when in reality they meant a new boarding time at 2pm.

Plenty of room in the exit row. Sat on the plane an hour before taking off.☹️ Landed late and had to wait for gate availability.

Flight was on time early arrival better entertainment good staff.everything was excellent

Delayed leaving. On arrival we were taken to the airstrip and had to get off onto an over crowed bus, not all that passengers fit. Drove around the airport for 20 + minutes. Taken off the bus told to go upstairs 3 flights then all the passengers had to walk a mile or more , those of us old there was no one to direct us to were to go. I asked several people with no answers. Once I got to baggage claim my bags were not on the right bag claim. Once again asked for help and finally someone found my bags on a different carasel. Very frustrating.

Excellent host on board. Not so friendly check-in staff. Older plane with no food or entertainment due to short flight. Friendly captain and crew.

I don’t think there was entertainment? No mention of it. It was a good flight. Only complaint was my seat cushion was not attached and kept slipping.

They canceled the flight on us very close to the flight date .

It took 66 hours to get from Seattle to Tel Aviv. As a minor, I was left for more than 12 hours in Toronto and Frankfurt without hotel and food vouchers. It took 5 layovers. It was insane and not okay

Exploring Australia: What To Consider When Selecting Vacation Packages

A ustralia is a vast and diverse country that offers a wealth of natural wonders, cultural experiences, and adventure opportunities.

The country has something to offer every traveller, from the beautiful Outback to the stunning beaches of the Gold Coast.

When planning a trip to this captivating destination, selecting the right vacation package can make all the difference in ensuring a memorable experience.

This article will explore the key factors to consider when choosing Australia vacation packages for your adventure.

Destination Diversity

Australia is not just a country; it's a continent with various landscapes and climates. Before selecting a vacation package, it's essential to determine which parts of Australia you want to explore.

Do you dream of snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, hiking in the ancient rainforests of Queensland, or traversing the red sands of the Northern Territory's deserts?

Understanding the diverse regions of Australia enables you to select a package that aligns with your interests.

Coastal Escapes

Australia's coastal regions are a must-visit for those who crave sun, surf, and relaxation. The country boasts some of the world's most beautiful beaches.

If you're inclined towards coastal escapes, look for vacation packages that include destinations like Sydney, the Gold Coast, or the Whitsunday Islands. These packages often feature beachfront accommodations, water sports, and opportunities to explore vibrant coastal cities.

Wilderness Adventures

Australia's vast wilderness areas offer thrilling adventures for nature enthusiasts. Consider vacation packages that take you to the heart of the Australian Outback or the rugged landscapes of Tasmania.

These packages may include guided wildlife tours, bushwalks, and the chance to experience indigenous cultures and traditions.

Cultural Exploration

Australia's cities are hubs of culture and creativity. Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane are known for their vibrant arts scenes, world-class dining, and iconic landmarks. If you're interested in cultural exploration, look for packages that focus on these urban centers.

You'll have the opportunity to visit museums, theatres, and renowned restaurants while enjoying the city's cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Duration and Itinerary

The duration of your trip and the itinerary included in your vacation package can significantly impact your overall experience. Consider your available time for your Australian adventure and what activities you want to prioritize.

Short Getaways

If you have limited time, consider a short getaway package that focuses on a specific region or city. These packages typically last a week or less and are ideal for those looking for a quick escape. You can explore one area in depth, such as the Great Ocean Road near Melbourne or the city of Sydney, without feeling rushed.

Extended Journeys

For a more comprehensive exploration of Australia, opt for an extended vacation package that spans two weeks or more. These packages often cover multiple regions, giving you the opportunity to experience a broader range of attractions and activities.

Extended journeys are ideal for travellers who want to immerse themselves in the country's diverse landscapes and cultures.

Accommodation Choices

The type of accommodation included in your vacation package can significantly influence your comfort and overall experience. Australia offers a wide range of lodging options, from luxury resorts to budget-friendly hostels and charming bed-and-breakfasts.

Luxury Retreats

If you're seeking a lavish and indulgent experience, look for vacation packages, including stays at luxury resorts and boutique hotels.

Australia is home to some world-renowned luxury accommodations, especially in popular destinations like Hamilton Island, the Blue Mountains, and the Barossa Valley wine region.

Australia offers a myriad of travel experiences , from the sun-soaked beaches of its coasts to the rugged wilderness of its interior.

Best time for travel reflections of italy.

While just about any month is great to visit Italy, there are a few prime times of the year for the Reflections of Italy tour. Here are some recommendations from our destination experts.

Throughout Italy, the most popular times to visit are April, May, June, September, and October. Along the coast, July and August are busy with locals and Europeans on summer holiday, while cities are usually less crowded.

Winter: Go in December, January, and February for Venice, where you can take a walk beside the canals on a quiet evening and hear your footsteps echoing off the water.

Spring: Enjoy Italy in the spring season, with fewer tourists and comfortable temperatures. In March, the weather is warm, but not too hot. Just imagine exploring the towns’ cobblestone streets during this quieter time of year.

Fall: After the busy summer season, you’ll encounter more of the locals. Fall is a fantastic season to travel in Tuscany, with fewer crowds, cooler days, and a bit of foliage to enjoy – all pairing well with a glass of red wine!
