When I finally found the other location, I was told that the company had went out of business and that the Big B company was honoring their tickets. The Big B tours only has one loop (versus 3 that I paid for). I wasted half a day finding the correct company and got less than I thought I would get. DO NOT USE CitySightsDC. Never happened in five days. Some bus narrators were better than other. No air on the bottom level and the windows were closed tight in 90+ degree temperatures. One bus driver was more interested in helping his buddy sell water to the riders on the bus than getting us going to our next stop. Another five minutes wasted on sitting in from of the Aerospace museum so the water could be sold. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We were not the only ones that were lied to either and many visitors were just as upset as we were. Use the other companies doing the same thing. They seem to be on time at all locations. It was not just my group, but a number of other people that we were waiting with also stated the same thing. We were told they stop at each spot every 15 to 20 minutes. It was more like an hour. It was burning hot (93 degrees) and after a phone call to the office a number of times the bus finally arrived. It was a closed in bottom and the windows didn't open. There was no air conditioning on it either. The driver on one bus was more interested in having people buy water from his buddy who was selling water from a cooler on the street. We sat in that one location for at least five minutes while they making their sales. I will be contacting the Chamber of Commence and letting them know should not be listed on their brochures. We boarded the medium size coaches at the Naval Center on Pennsylvania Avenue after enjoying a delicious meal at the local Capital Grill restaurant. It wasn't awful but wasn't great either. The CitySights kiosk didn't explain a thing to us. Gave us the wrong tickets and couldn't get it corrected without a lot of hassle. Never did fix it but we finally had someone at Big Bus give us some info that helped. City Sights is worth 0 stars. I give Big Bus 2 stars. Just not a pleasant experience. • Dan S 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles DC night tour We brought our 8 yr old grand daughter to DC as part of business trip - her first airplane ride, trip outside home, etc. She looked through travel guides for ideas of what she wanted to see - pandas at zoo, butterflies at Natural History Museum, Spy Museum and night bus tour (sit on open top deck). I purchased all tickets on line, well in advance of the trip. We went to the Willard Intercontinental hotel for the tour and were told our tickets would allow us only to get on at Union Station. I bought new tickets, not wanting to miss the tour, and was told by City Sights employees that I should be able to get a refund. Tour was very nice, even with intermittent rain - grand daughter was absolutely thrilled, which was the whole point of going. When I return home, I contacted City Sights, explained what had happened, gave them our original order information, and they said they would submit for review. Today they refunded the original purchase to my credit card. Some frustration but, in total, a great experience. Alisha and Dwayne were great. The description of buildings and monuments were great! We even took longer than planned on the walking monuments. My rating is low because on the way back to Union Station after The Lincoln Memorial, most of the people on the far left side got hit in the head by a large branch. I was looking back to the side and got hit on the side of my head. Lady in front and man behind me got hit on their forehead. This happened on a Tuesday and my head is still sore. I didn’t need medical attention but I have a lump and scrape are still there. It didn’t help that Alisha said we very sore that she should have warned us. ( you think!)

Great tour just wish it was longer. A bit more time at our stops would have helped also. Other than that will do it again when we are here.

So first of all I want to say that I don't blame any employees for this, I think this might have been like an out of control situation for them but here we go, starting positive: PROS: - Everyone was very nice while the delt with the many complaints. - The guide seems to know his stuff - They provide free headphones for you to listen to the tour guide in case he is upstairs and you are downstairs. - The Lincoln Memorial stop was pretty cool as well as seeing the other monuments being lit up. CONS: - Tour was supposed to start at 7:30pm we didn't leave till 8pm. Everyone was on the bus for 30mins just like "what's up?" - As soon as we did get going we had to almost immeaditly stop to let 8 more people board on. Lots of groans and moans there. - The BIGGEST problem was that the top part of the double decker bus had no A/C. So the people on the top part which I was a part of that very miserable sweaty crew. Lots of those people were complaining and when we got off on the Lincoln Memorial a lot of those people didn't come back. I mean it's hard you know imagine a 2 hour drive with no A/C in June it's like 80° and very hot and humid. People were pretty upset. - So I thought we were gonna make more stops but we ONLY stopped at the Lincoln Memorial and they give you like only 30mins.

In the end would probs never do with this company again cause I really need A/C in my life. Secondly, we really thought that the bus was gonna make more stops than the one stop. I mean at this point we should have just taken a 10$ Uber to get to the Lincoln Memorial instead of wasting so much time waiting in line and on the bus.

I live in DC and had relatives in town. We tried to check in 20 mins before the scheduled 7:30 departure but the guy at the desk had NO idea how to use the technology. it took him over 25 mins to check in 9 people all of who had printed out tickets to be scanned. It was embarrassing. The bus people were coming over to say they were about to leave and they almost did without us. We did not depart until 7:50. We never went to the FDR memorial or to Arlington to the Iwo Jima - two of the best stops. The promised route was not delivered. the tour said 3 hours but lasted just 2 hrs and 10 mins. I had done monuments at night tour but did not remember the company used. One was a small private company and one was a big bus like this one. I would NEVER use this company again and would use a smaller bus company. My previous tours were SO much better. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Aside from general description to meet at Union Station. There was nothing more specific about exact location. We ended up with an Old Town Trolley tour instead of our tour. We were in the wrong line but they let us go on there bus because our tour had already left by time mistake was discovered. Old Towns bus were much newer and it was excellent tour. Happy for the error.

I thought the guided tour was amazing. We had a great time. DC is just beautiful at night. Our guide Karry I think that was his name was so good, very knowledgeable and kind. Our kids are 7 and 2 and they even loved it. They thought it was cool riding on top of the bus. Thank so much!

The top of the bus was full so we had to sit down inside the bus where you couldn't really see out of the window and there was no air conditioning. We were told there was another bus at the first stop that had open seats on top but they were separate. At the first stop, we were told to be at the new bus by 8 pm. We walked up at 745 pm as it was leaving with our open seats. Thankfully our driver called them and made them come back so we could sit on top. The only bad part was the 3 of us me, my 9 year old daughter and 10 year old niece were split up. We went to the next stop and the driver and guide were great for that part of the ride. We explored, got back to the bus, waited an extra 1/2 hr for stragglers that hadn't come back and then the bus wouldn't start. We waited a little while for an update on if a new bus was coming to finish the tour or what. Finally I had just had enough so we got off and took an Uber back to our hotel. It wasn't the drivers fault but I think overall there needs to be better organization so empty buses don't leave empty when there are too many people booked. In addition, the headset electronics stopped working on both buses so the guides had to yell.

Where to begin...The girl at the counter was insanely rude, but most of the people were pretty unprofessional. There were no lights on the inside of the buss therefore you could not see going up/down the stairs. Our first bus wasn't working right, so we had to switch busses. There was way more walking that I thought, and the narrator originally said he was going to take us around all the monuments the ones on the tour but he did not. At the second stop the narrator left us to our own to visit them. If I wanted to walk all the monuments and see them on my own, I could have done that for free. I wanted my mom, who has difficulty walking long ways, to see the city at night and experience the tour, but it wasn't worth it for her at all. Additionally, there was another older lady on the bus who was unable to get off due to her disability. So, the ambiguity of the tour was a joke to most of us on my bus.

The tour itself was quite nice and I very much appreciated getting around to the various sites and monuments without any hassle. However, the tour is listed as departing at 6:30, and this was nowhere near the way it worked out. After rushing to be sure we were there the number of minutes ahead that were stated, we were sent outside to a line that was extremely long and required multiple tour buses, of which only one was pulled up for loading at 6:30. When we finally were on a bus and ready to depart it was about 6:55. There were no benches to sit on as we waited, for any of us who found long standing difficult. I also felt that there was not adequate time allowed at the stop which included the Martin Luther King Memorial and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. We only found time to do the King Memorial and then had to return to the bus. Likewise at the Lincoln Memorial, which is next to the Vietnam Memorial. Didn't have adequate time to get to the Vietnam Memorial, and wouldn't have really had adequate time for the Lincoln if we had used the restrooms as we would like to have done! Perhaps the time was cut short by the almost 1/2 hour waiting in line for our bus at the start, since the tour still ended at 9:30. One more thing -- if it is not truly required to print out your ticket and showing a cell phone confirmation is adequate, then don't say online that the ticket must be printed! I troubled myself the night before to go down to the business center of my hotel and get the tickets printed for myself and my granddaughter, and then when we arrived, the agent was accepting the cell phone codes. Just be clear about it, one way or the other!!

There are a lot of bus tours at night in Washington DC, and they’re all quite highly rated.

Most of the reviews for their dinner cruise are positive, but there are a few negative comments as well.

Complaints range from lack of service to poor food quality, but there are just as many customers who enjoyed their meals and the people who served them.

Several reviewers mentioned that their food was delicious and the crew was both helpful and polite.

This seems to be a common thread among both happy and unhappy guests.

Spirit of Washington Dinner Cruise

Their dinner cruise offers fairly similar service, but it is intended as a much more upscale experience.

Odyssey Cruises offers live music and three-course plated dinners, ensuring a more romantic and intimate experience.

Enjoy a more traditional and professional dining experience as you float past some of the most notable monuments in Washington DC. As a result of offering a more opulent service, Odyssey enjoys an overall 4-star rating on TripAdvisor.

A majority of the reviews for this dinner cruise are positive, indicating that most people enjoyed their fine dining experience.

Even those who took issue with the food quality admitted that the live music was excellent.

Most passengers were very impressed with the cruise, stating that both the staff and their meals were wonderful.

Odyssey Cruises is particularly popular among couples due to its focus on a more romantic atmosphere.

Much like DC Cruises, you’ll find that this tour company is more about having fun and sightseeing than it is about providing an educational experience.

If you want to see the monuments from the Potomac while enjoying a few drinks on a yacht, this would be an excellent option.

Tickets for the Nighttime Party Yacht are a bit more expensive than the services offered by competitors, but reviews for Boomerang are also a lot more impressive.

This yacht includes a full bar and an air-conditioned dance floor in the main cabin.

According to customers on TripAdvisor, this is one of the most entertaining cruises in Washington DC.

Reviewers have seen fit to give the Boomerang Party Yacht a 4 ½ star rating, and most of them seem very happy with their experience. 

Older customers weren’t as excited about the trip, but they did suggest that this would definitely be more fun for younger audiences.

Nighttime Party Yacht Cruise

Price: $65 per person

Availability: March–December

Additional Information: This cruise is limited to adults 21 and older. An ID will be required to board the yacht.

NIGHT DC SEGWAY TOURS

There are actually a wide variety of Segway tours in Washington DC. Unfortunately, most of them do not offer night tours, instead opting for trips at sunset.

Some of these sunset tours will last long enough to see the monuments as the sun goes down and during the magic hour, which is yet another wonderful experience.

Others will run until 9 pm, giving most guests an opportunity to see our most treasured landmarks after the sun goes down.  This is certainly the case the closer you are to June 21st.  

Expect to pay anywhere from $65-$75 per person for each tour.  

NOTE: These tours cannot accommodate children or youth under 16 years of age.

City Segway Tours

This company offers fairly long tours and one of them begins at 6 pm.

This 3-hour trip will last until about 9 pm, giving you plenty of opportunities to see the monuments and memorials both as the sun sets and at twilight.

This is a slightly more affordable segway ride and it comes from one of the most trusted tour companies in Washington DC.
