The Kansas City Chiefs don’t have to be on the field for you to have some fun at Arrowhead Stadium .

While Arrowhead is no doubt an awesome venue for watching a game (it’s known as the loudest stadium in the NFL), a stadium tour is an excellent way to get a dose of football year-round. Consider it a must-do if you’re a serious Chiefs fan.

Along with  dozens of works of art  found throughout the stadium – including a sculpture by Missouri’s own Thomas Hart Benton – tours at Arrowhead detail how Chiefs’ founder Lamar Hunt shaped and modernized the NFL that exists today.

The Chiefs organization actually began in 1960 as the Dallas Texans, members of the upstart American Football League (AFL) that Hunt founded after he was denied the opportunity to start an expansion team or purchase an existing NFL team.

The original AFL included seven other teams: the Denver Broncos, Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Chargers, Boston Patriots, Buffalo Bills, New York Titans and Oakland Raiders.

Interesting tidbit – the founding fathers of those teams collectively were called “The Foolish Club” because all were certain they’d lose a boatload of money and that the league would eventually falter. Today, “The Foolish Club” is the name of one of the indoor areas for grabbing a cold drink and relaxing with friends inside Arrowhead.

Another interesting tidbit – Hunt is credited with coining the term “Super Bowl.” In the early days of the AFL, before its merger with the NFL, the top teams from each league faced off in the AFL-NFL Championship Game. The cumbersome name wasn’t necessarily a hit with owners, fans or the media, and it was Hunt who first threw out the suggestion for calling the game the Super Bowl.

On the tour, you learn that Hunt likely derived the name from a Super Ball, the small, extremely bouncy rubber ball that was popular with his children. In fact, a Super Ball is one of the items on display in the Chiefs Hall of Honor, a highlight of the tour that pays tribute to the best of the best from Chiefs history.

You’ll also find several items related to the AFL and its teams in the Chiefs Hall of Honor – a truly rare example of one franchise honoring rival franchises.

Inside the Hall of Honor, busts depicting Chiefs legends – from quarterback Len Dawson to defensive end Derrick Thomas – are aligned in a locker-like setup. If you’re a big fan of football, you may need to ask for extra time to read and see everything that’s on display.

Among the signature pieces is the trophy from the 1970 AFL-NFL Championship Game, aka Super Bowl IV. The AFL’s Chiefs won, 23-7, over the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings. What’s cool about the trophy – and what seems perfectly fitting, considering the Chiefs were the founding members of the AFL – is that it’s the last trophy to have an AFL logo on it, as the two leagues merged prior to the following season.

A bonus tidbit – It was Lamar Hunt’s idea to use Roman numerals when referring to Super Bowls, to lend a little touch of class to the event.

Tours of Arrowhead Stadium include an opportunity to see the press box and locker room and get close to the field – you can walk the track that surrounds the playing surface. Don’t plan on carrying along a football and running post patterns on the field all afternoon. That’s a no-no.

There are several tour options available . General public tours are held twice daily, on Fridays and Saturdays, year-round. Private tours can be arranged by appointment.

The next time you need a football fix, plan a tour at Arrowhead Stadium. It’s a fascinating look at one of the NFL’s most fascinating franchises.

Ultimate travel guide for visiting chiefs at arrowhead stadium, share this article.

Traveling to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri for a Chiefs game should be on every sports fan’s bucket list, regardless of allegiance.

The tailgating experience is second to none. The stadium, while one of the NFL’s oldest, has plenty to offer. And the city of Kansas City provides unique, underrated experiences despite its small-town feel.

So if you’re planning on traveling to Arrowhead for one of the Chiefs’ 10 home games (preseason included) in 2022, you’ll want to make sure to maximize your experience by hitting the best sights and eateries, and then by checking out the amazing tailgating scene.

K.C. has plenty to offer, so to keep things streamlined, I’ll detail some of the best barbecue joints in town, plus some non-BBQ eateries and places to visit. Then I’ll cap it off with tailgating tips, recommended straight from Chiefs Kingdom.

Kansas City BBQ

AP Photo/Chuck France

You really can’t go wrong with any BBQ in town. There’s something for everyone, and if you asked 20 people to rank their top spots, you’ll probably get 20 different lists.

Personally, I’ve had plenty of BBQ in my day. So I’ll offer up my top five, plus a handful of honorable mentions.

Gates Bar-B-Q

One of the classics. There are six locations across the metro — my go-to is the location on Emanuel Cleaver Boulevard, but it’s worth venturing to the one on State Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas if you’re in the mood for some chicken wings.

As far as the menu goes, the absolute best BBQ bang for your buck in K.C. is the “Nooner.” This magical meal is chopped burnt ends and your choice of sliced meat on a bun with a side of fries at the price of $5.99 (price may vary since last time I’ve been) on weekdays between 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You can still get the Nooner outside of lunch hours and on weekends but the price goes up a bit — but trust me, it’s still worth it.

Outside of the Nooner, I like a mixed plate — a generous combo of ribs, beef, ham and fries — if I’m feeling extra hungry, plus a side order of beans. Many love a classic “beef on bun” sandwich, and you can’t forget a strawberry soda or a nice local beer.

Above all, just prepare for “hi, may I help you?” to be shouted at Arrowhead-level decibels upon arrival.

Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que

A favorite for many, Joe’s K.C. — formerly Oklahoma Joe’s — is the most well-rounded and consistent BBQ joint in town in this writer’s opinion. Their three locations (all located on the Kansas side) offer tasty meats that are cooked to perfection — there’s no wonder why the line often pushes outside of the door and sometimes wraps around the building during peak hours. Still, the line is worth the wait and moves faster than you’d expect.

My go-to at Joe’s is the jumbo Z-Man, fries, mac-n-cheese and a sweet tea. What’s the Z-Man, you ask? Per Joe’s menu , it’s “slow-smoked beef brisket, smoked provolone cheese, topped with two crispy onion rings, on a toasted Kaiser roll.” There are variations, too, with chicken, pulled pork, or even portobello mushrooms for non-meat eaters.

I’m also partial to the Rocket Pig when it’s time to switch things up, and I know many who are in love with the Carolina Pork Sandwich. Some just go straight for the ribs and/or burnt ends. That’s okay, too — like I said, everything is amazing.

Jousting Pigs BBQ

This underrated joint is a bit out of the way, with locations in Liberty, Missouri (original) and the Legends in KCK (right next to Children’s Mercy Park where Sporting Kansas City plays). I’d suggest the Liberty location if possible as that one has a wonderful brewery attached called 3Halves Brewing .

Jousting is special for their, well, specials. Each day they have an exclusive menu item, whether it’s the rib tips on Wednesday, smash burger on Thursdays or the Brisket Philly on Saturdays. These specials can change, so make sure to call ahead or check their social media pages to find out what they’re having.

My personal favorite at Jousting is the aforementioned Brisket Philly. It’s exactly how it sounds plus more — chopped brisket, peppers, onions and jalapeño cream cheese on a toasted baguette. It’s one of the best specialty BBQ sandwiches in K.C.

If you’re looking for something more traditional, grab their pork belly burnt ends or The Jester, the latter of which is a brisket sandwich with Texas toothpicks and smoked gouda. Don’t forget the cheesy corn — it’s on the spicier side but complements each dish nicely. Oh, and the banana pudding. Get the banana pudding.

One of the fancier BBQ joints in K.C., Q39 is young but became a staple rather quickly. You’ll drop a bill here, for sure, but it’s worth it if you’re looking for a relaxed sit-down experience.

If you get anything at Q39, please, please get the “Best Wings on the Planet.” No, seriously, that’s what they’re called, and they live up to the title if you ask me. The perfect amount of crisp and tenderness with a sweet chipotle BBQ glaze that carries a hint of spice. Just perfection.

What else you get is up to you. I personally enjoy the Burnt End Burger, although it can be a challenge to fit in your mouth. The Judge’s Plate is nice if you want to try a bit of everything, and it’s shareable (unless you’re a big eater like me). I have a friend who’s absolutely obsessed with the Smoked Beef Brisket Poutine. Really, it’s an embarrassment of (BBQ) riches.

Slap’s BBQ

Also relatively new to the game, Slap’s has a lovely combination of quality and quantity, and their prices aren’t too out of hand. Make sure to get there by early afternoon — they stay open until 7 p.m. but will often sell out of many menu items a few hours short of that time.

I feel like a broken record when I say you can’t go wrong with any of their food, but it’s true. I’ll usually get a burnt end and sausage combo or The Mike Johnson Sandwich, the latter of which includes jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket, lettuce, BBQ sauce and white sauce on a pretzel bun. Wait, white sauce, you say? Heresy, surely! Nope. It’s legit, and you should ask for more on the side.

Speaking of sides, Slap’s features my favorite side dish in K.C.: the baked potato casserole. Please, please get this if you go to Slap’s. Thank me later.

Honorable mentions

  • Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque : Another classic, Bryant’s BBQ has a loyal following inside and outside of K.C. I personally love a beef and pork combo sandwich with a side of beans. Their sauce is on the harsher side with a vinegar base instead of tomato, but offers a different, unique style that many enjoy, myself included.
  • Buck Tui BBQ : New on the BBQ scene, this Thai-K.C. BBQ fusion offers some of the best and most unique flavors in K.C. Get the brisket rangoons as an appetizer — they’re a must. My favorite dishes include the X Man sandwich or the pineapple rib fried rice with a side of mac & cheese.
  • Char Bar : A sit-down spot in Westport with one of the best patios among K.C. BBQ joints, this spot has tasty sandwiches, unique apps and great sides. I love the jalapeño cheesy-corn bake.
  • Harp Barbecue : Tucked inside Crane Brewing in Raytown, Missouri, this joint is only open Fridays and Saturdays and runs until sellout. Get there early (like 30 minutes before opening) if you want a good spot in line. It’s worth it — Harp has some of the best meats in town.
  • Jack Stack BBQ : For many folks in K.C., this is the No. 1 spot. It’s worth visiting one of their six locations if you’re in the mood for some sit-down ‘que and some of the best sides K.C. has to offer. I’d suggest any appetizer, a sandwich and/or the lamb ribs. Wait, lamb? Trust me, they’re tender and legit.
  • LC’s Bar-B-Q : Yet another classic mainstay, LC’s has the best darn burnt ends in town. Don’t expect to see anything fancy on this menu. It’s not needed — they let their meats do the talking.

Heard great things, but haven’t visited yet

  • Technically I have visited BB’s Lawnside Blues & BBQ , but I was a small child so I only remember the atmosphere, not the food. That said, if you enjoy some jams while you eat, this is the spot. They do charge a cover on nights with bands, but it’s reasonable.
  • I’ve heard wonderful things about Chef J BBQ , a craft BBQ spot that is similar to Harp with its limited hours and open-’til-sellout menu.
  • The same goes for Night Goat Barbecue which is only open Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fox and Pearl.

Kansas City restaurants, breweries, food and cinnamon rolls

chiefs stadium tour cost

AP Photo/Orlin Wagner

There are so many good non-BBQ spots and breweries in K.C. that it’d be impossible to list them all. I suggest searching Kansas City’s subreddit to dive deeper into any specific recommendations. In the meantime, here are a few of my personal favorites:

There are eight breweries within walking distance in the Crossroads Arts District, plus many more within drivable distance. I’m partial to Double Shift . You’ve probably heard of Boulevard , the biggest and most popular brewery in town. City Barrel doubles as a brewery and kitchen with a high-quality seasonal food menu.

Town Topic is a classic spot open 24 hours. Grandstand Burgers is giant, greasy goodness, as is Tay’s Burger Shack . I’ve recently fallen in love with Cosmo Burger , the best new burger spot in town.

Pigwich has a wide range of tasty burgers and sandwiches. Chiefs coach Andy Reid is a fan of their “Big Pig” sandwich.

Cinnamon rolls

These deserve their own category. When you think of K.C. you think of BBQ, but many don’t realize that K.C. is the cinnamon roll capital of America as well.

Corner Cafe has ginormous, delicious cinnamon rolls. So does Donutology (both fried and baked). Stroud’s and Neighborhood Cafe serve them with meals. The absolute best in the world, though, belong to Tin Pan , which you’ll have to order ahead of time and have delivered. They’re worth it, trust me.

More cinnamon roll spots? Check out this write-up from KCUR’s Gina Kaufmann .

Betty Rae’s Ice Cream is a must for ice cream enthusiasts. They’ll occasionally have Joe’s BBQ & burnt ends ice cream. Yes, you read that right. LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee has the best glazed donut. Ashleigh’s Bake Shop has perfect hand-crafted pies. M&M Bakery and Deli has perfect, well, everything.

Pizza and wings

Minsky’s is the most popular spot with a robust menu and often wonderful specials. Artègo has cheesy bread to die for and delicious wings. The Peanut also has huge, tasty wings with a loyal local following. There’s a good piece on top K.C. pizzas from Kansas City Magazine if you’re looking for specific styles.

More eateries

I like V’s Italiano Ristorante for Italian and Bay Boy Specialty Sandwiches for hot and cold sandwiches. Longboards has killer wraps and bowls. Basically, any Mexican spot on Southwest Boulevard is good, but my preference is Tacos El Gallo . For fancier fare, grab a steak at the Golden Ox where the Kansas City strip steak was born.

I haven’t yet made it to El Pollo Guasave but it has rave reviews. I also really, really need to try Niecie’s Restaurant , which many recommend for the best soul food in the city.

Kansas City sports and places to visit

chiefs stadium tour cost

Evert Nelson/The Capital-Journal via USA TODAY NETWORK

K.C. may not have a giant arch or the world’s tallest buildings, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had and sights to behold. There’s the zoo , countless museums and art exhibits , plenty of shopping options , and of course the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial .

Again, I’d check Reddit, Google and Visit KC for any specific recommendations. For sports fans, these are the places to go:

Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and American Jazz Museum

If you don’t do anything else besides the Chiefs game while in K.C., at least find time to do this. The NLBM and Jazz Museum are connected, making it easy to visit both locations. No matter how many times you go you’ll learn something new. After visiting, head over to The Blue Room (also connected) to have a drink and listen to some wonderful jazz.

The College Basketball Experience and National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame

These two are also connected and offer a unique museum experience. You’ll learn so much about the best in college basketball and then have a chance to shoot some hoops and play various basketball skills challenges. There’s a spot for kids to play, too.

College sports

College basketball begins in November, so check out the Kansas City Roos men’s and women’s basketball teams. If you’re willing to drive about an hour outside of town, the Kansas Jayhawks offer one of the best college basketball environments in the country at Allen Fieldhouse. If you’re willing to drive about two hours outside of town, the Mizzou football offers a great experience as well.

These Mizzou football home games are close to Chiefs home games in 2022:

Sept. 17 vs. Abilene Christian Nov. 5 vs. Kentucky Nov. 25 vs. Arkansas

Kansas City Current (NWSL)

The Current — a women’s soccer team in the National Women’s Soccer League — have a new soccer-specific stadium coming in 2024. In the meantime, you can catch them at Children’s Mercy Park where Sporting Kansas City of the MLS plays.

These Current home games are close to Chiefs home games in 2022:

Aug. 19 vs. Angel City FC Aug. 28 vs. North Carolina Courage Sept. 18 vs. Portland Thorns FC

Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL)

There’s no NHL team in Kansas City (yet), but you can still check out professional hockey at an affordable price in K.C. The Mavericks play at Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri (nine miles east of Arrowhead). Watching hockey in person is so much fun, and the cheaper seats up top are just as fun as watching up close.

These Mavericks home games are close to Chiefs home games in 2022:

Nov. 4-5 vs. Utah Grizzlies Nov. 11 vs. Iowa Heartlanders Nov. 12 vs. Tulsa Oilers Dec. 23, 30-31 vs. Iowa Heartlanders

The ECHL season runs through April, so some of the Mavericks’ home games could run near potential Chiefs’ home playoff games as well.

Kansas City Royals (MLB)

Kauffman Stadium is a beautiful ballpark with an awesome in-stadium Hall of Fame experience. The tailgating scene at Royals games isn’t quite as vigorous as Chiefs games, but there are still plenty of folks out in the lot grilling away.

These Royals home games are close to Chiefs home games in 2022:

Aug. 22 vs. Chicago White Sox Aug. 23-24 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Aug. 26-28 vs. San Diego Padres

Sporting Kansas City (MLS)

Many dub Kansas City the soccer capital of America, with Sporting K.C. at the center of it all. Head over to the Kansas side to catch a soccer game. Make sure to tailgate and, if you don’t mind standing and chanting, grab a ticket in the Cauldron (but only if you cheer for the home squad).

These Sporting home games are close to Chiefs home games in 2022:

Aug. 21 vs. Portland Timbers Aug. 27 vs. San Jose Earthquakes Sept. 13 vs. D.C. United Sept. 17 vs. Minnesota United FC

Tailgating tips + inside Arrowhead Stadium

chiefs stadium tour cost

Gary Rohman-USA TODAY Sports

If you’ve decided to embark on a tailgate at Arrowhead, make sure you’re prepared. Chiefs fans graciously offered some tips on Twitter to make your experience more seamless and enjoyable.

Get in the grass

Go early, go to lot D near D17, go near the grass by the road and near the Gold lot border. Bring a table, chairs, food, and drinks. And walk around and high five everyone. Head inside one hour before kickoff — Corey, The Artist Chief (@Coreyo4) June 12, 2022

Parking in/near the grass is a good tip if you plan to have a large group and lots of stuff (tables, tents, yard games, etc.). I prefer Lot L since it’s generally roomier over there, although it does require a longer journey to the stadium.

To get to Lots D or L, you’ll want to go around the back way on Raytown Road and turn on Sportsman Drive.

Don’t forget the utensils

1. Leave earlier than you think you need to 2. Have a tailgate kit with all the utencils, plates etc to use for games only so you aren’t forgetting stuff you need. Plastic totes works great 3. Have @GuysSnacks goodies on hand 4. Buy local KC food products! — Chiefs Kingdom LIVE! (@ChiefsKngdmLive) June 12, 2022

Great tips. Write down a list of utensils, food, games and other stuff you’ll need and cross off each item before you leave to make sure they’re packed. It’s better to overprepare because once you get to the parking lot there’s no opportunity for a quick grocery store run.

Catch the noon games

Grab yourself an inexpensive TV, power source and HD antenna so you can watch the noon games. — Itown Hard, CPA (@itownhard) June 12, 2022

This is a great idea that even I haven’t considered (and I’ve tailgated aplenty). Obviously, this is only doable if the Chiefs are playing during the 3 o’clock slate or prime time.

Clean up after yourself

Have respect for the lot and workers. Don't dump coals on ground, leave cans or bottles lying around. Take trash bags for trash and dump coals in the bins designed for it all over the lot. — Britt Zank (@bzank17) June 12, 2022

Seriously, don’t leave your trash everywhere. There are plenty of places to throw your stuff away. And leaving stray coals around can cause fires , which I’ve seen happen in the lots before.

Bring a… pee tent?

Bring a pee tent — J-Coyne (@jon_m_coyne) June 12, 2022

Um, not sure what a pee tent is, but maybe give it a try? Or, conversely, just try to park near a porta-potty.

  • For those unfamiliar, Arrowhead Stadium is not located downtown. It’s sort of in the middle of nowhere on Interstate 70 about eight miles east of downtown Kansas City. If you’re in need of public transit or a ride, you should be able to get to the stadiums through RideKC , Uber , Lyft , or various taxi services.
  • Arrive 30 minutes to one hour early prior to gates opening if you want a particular spot. Gates usually open about three and a half hours before game time, but double-check the Chiefs’ website or app for official times.
  • Don’t forget a bottle opener.
  • Don’t powerbomb anyone through a folding table (this isn’t Bills Mafia). If you must, though, make sure it’s a Raiders fan.
  • In all seriousness, be nice to opposing fans. Mess with them, sure, and talk some smack. But don’t start fights or give the rest of Chiefs Kingdom a bad name. We want people to actually visit our city.
  • If you’re an opposing fan, prepare for some trash talk. The majority of folks will tease, but they won’t be rude. If they are, simply ignore them. If you’re made to feel uncomfortable, speak up. Most Chiefs fans (and stadium attendants) will come to your aid if someone is acting poorly.
  • For cold games, bring cardboard, a rug or carpet to stand on. Putting that between you and the freezing concrete will make a huge difference.
  • If you’re not tailgating but want to join one, walk around and ask people if you can join theirs. Offer some beer, food or something else that contributes. In my experience, most people are welcoming.
  • Like Corey mentioned in his above tweet, head inside an hour before kickoff. The lines can be hell if you leave late and you may miss kickoff. Plus, you’ll want to check out the inside of the stadium and leave time to grab food or something from the shops.
  • When you arrive, you’ll want to check out the Chiefs Hall of Honor and the artwork within the stadium. If you don’t have time on game day to explore the stadium, it’s definitely worth booking a public tour for the full experience.

Arrowhead Stadium Game Day Guide | Tips for a 1st Time Visit

Last updated on September 2nd, 2023 at 09:44 am.

Attending a Kansas City Chiefs game can be overwhelming for first-time visitors who may not know what to expect. In this article, we will cover everything you need to know to have a great time at Arrowhead Stadium including parking, food, seating, prices, and more.

I have attended two Chiefs games in the past two years. I watched the Chiefs play the Steelers on Christmas Day in 2021, and then on January 1, 2023, I got to see the Chiefs take on the Broncos. Both games were wins for the Chiefs (of course), and a great experience that I recommend everyone in the Kansas City area experiences at least once.

Going to a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium can be an exhilarating experience for any NFL fan. With the team’s recent success, the atmosphere at Arrowhead has become even more electric, making it a must-visit for any football enthusiast.

If you’re headed to Arrowhead Stadium for any of the nine home games the Chiefs play in the 2023 season, this is what you need to know.

Where is Arrowhead Stadium? Arrowhead Stadium is located off the 70 and 435 freeways. The cross streets are Chiefs Way, Red Coat Lane, Arrowhead Drive and Lancet Lane.

From downtown Kansas City: Take I-670 East to I-70 East. Exite 7B for Manchester Trafficway and turn left onto Stadium Drive and then onto Chiefs Way.

Advance parking purchase is required for parking and no cash is accepted at tollbooths. Ticket holders may purchase either a single game parking pass for the “Red Parking” area for $47 or full season pass for $350. There are other parking pass options for suite level and CommunityAmerica Club Level season ticket holders.

If you prefer to avoid the hassle of driving and parking, there are also several public transportation options available. Bus transportation is available to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium through RideKC on the 47 Broadway line.

Another option is to consider carpooling.

When to Arrive at Arrowhead Stadium for Game Day

Line to get into Arrowhead Stadium for a Chiefs game

To ensure that you have a great game-day experience, it is recommended to arrive at the stadium at least two hours before kickoff. This will give you enough time to find parking, get through the line into the stadium and through security, navigate the stadium, and grab a bite to eat before the game.

If you have premium seating, consider arriving even earlier to take advantage of the amenities and avoid the rush of fans trying to enter the stadium.

It is also important to note that traffic can be heavy on game day, so plan accordingly and give yourself plenty of time to drive to the stadium.

Getting to the venue ahead of time is paramount, considering that roadways and parking lots tend to become increasingly congested as the highly anticipated kickoff approaches.

Arrowhead Stadium Bag Policy

The Chiefs organization has embraced the NFL’s clear bag policy at Arrowhead Stadium. This policy serves as a guide for fans regarding the size and type of bags that are allowed into the venue.

Here’s a breakdown of the permissible items:

  • Clear Bags: Fans are encouraged to bring transparent bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags are ideal for easy inspection.
  • Small Clutches: Alternatively, small clutches or purses no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″ are permissible. These small bags can be easily carried alongside the clear bag.
  • Diaper Bags: Parents attending the game may bring diaper bags, as long as they adhere to the clear bag dimensions mentioned above.
  • Exceptions: Medically necessary items that require special inspection, such as insulin kits or other essential medical supplies, will be permitted after proper verification.

These guidelines can change, so check out the official Chiefs bag policy for updates or changes and find clear bags at Amazon for next day delivery.

Seating at GEHA

Kansas City Chiefs Crowd

Arrowhead Stadium has a seating capacity of 76,416 and offers a variety of seating options. The stadium is divided into three levels, with the lower level closest to the field, the club level in the middle, and the upper level at the top.

The lower level is where you will find most of the stadium’s premium seating options, including the VIP club seats and suites. These seats offer a great view of the field and come with additional amenities like in-seat food and beverage service and access to private lounges.

The club level is also a popular seating option, as it offers a great view of the field and access to climate-controlled lounges with televisions and upscale food and beverage options.

The upper level is the most affordable seating option and is popular among families and budget-conscious fans. While the view of the field may not be as great as the lower levels, the upper level still provides a great game-day experience at a more affordable price.

One other thing to keep in mind is seating for day games. If you are in the shade in winter it can be very chilly or cold and on the flip side, if you are in the sun for an autumn game it can be very warm or hot.

Food and Beverage

Food and beverage options at Arrowhead Stadium are plentiful, with something to satisfy every craving. From classic stadium food like hot dogs and nachos to more upscale options like BBQ and sushi, there is no shortage of delicious options to choose from.

Additionally, Arrowhead Stadium is known for its famous Kansas City BBQ, which can be found throughout the stadium.

One of the most popular food options at Arrowhead Stadium is the Chiefs Kingdom Burger, a massive burger topped with bacon, onion rings, and BBQ sauce. Another popular option is the BBQ Nachos, which feature a heaping pile of tortilla chips topped with pulled pork, cheese, and BBQ sauce.

For those looking for healthier options, there are also several salad and vegetarian options available, including the Southwest Black Bean Burger and the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. They also have some gluten-free options including pizza.

When it comes to beverages, Arrowhead Stadium offers a variety of options, including soda, beer, wine, and cocktails. Fans can also purchase souvenir cups and bottles to take home as a memento of their visit.

Food and beverage prices at Arrowhead Stadium are also on the higher end, with prices for a hot dog and soda starting at around $10.

To save money, consider arriving early to take advantage of pre-game specials or purchasing food and beverages outside of the stadium before the game.

Ticket Prices for Chiefs Games

Kansas City Chiefs ticket prices 2023

Attending a Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium can be an expensive experience, especially if you are looking for premium seating options or if you wait until the last minute to purchase.

Prices for single game tickets for premium seating can range from several hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on the game and the location of the seats. However, there are also more affordable seating options available, with prices starting at around $50 for upper-level seats. You can also find tickets as low as $25 for their pre-season games.

Chiefs vs. Raiders ticket prices

As of the writing of this article, there were still tickets in the $95 price point for the game against the Raiders on December 26th.

Based on data provided by TicketSmarter , the Chiefs’ ticket prices on the resale market are the most expensive in the NFL, currently priced at $577. This represents an increase of $200 compared to the previous season, where the average ticket cost for a game in Kansas City was $371.

This information shouldn’t be unexpected, considering the Chiefs’ status as the reigning Super Bowl champions, having triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Chiefs Home Game Schedule 2023

  • Sat 08/26 vs Cleveland Browns (pre season game)
  • Thu 09/07 vs Detroit Lions
  • Sun 09/24 vs Chicago Bears
  • Thu 10/12 vs Denver Broncos
  • Sun 10/22 vs Los Angeles Chargers
  • Mon 11/20 vs Philadelphia Eagles
  • Sun 12/10 vs Buffalo Bills
  • Mon 12/25 vs Las Vegas Raiders
  • Sun 12/31 vs Cincinnati Bengals

In the upcoming season, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off against their AFC West rivals, including the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers, in six matchups. These divisional clashes are a consistent component of the Chiefs schedule , providing an annual test of their mettle. Remarkably, the Chiefs dominated their divisional opponents in 2022, emerging victorious in all six games.

However, the Chiefs’ challenges extend beyond their divisional battles. Alongside their AFC West counterparts, they will also lock horns with the formidable teams of the AFC East, namely the Bills, Dolphins, Patriots, and Jets. Additionally, they will face off against the tough competitors hailing from the NFC North, including the Vikings, Lions, Packers, and Bears.

This comprehensive slate of opponents represents the NFL’s rotational system, where each division contends against one AFC and one NFC division each year. In the previous season, the Chiefs squared off against the AFC South and NFC West divisions, demonstrating their ability to navigate a variety of formidable foes.

  • Private tours are offered most weekdays between 9 AM – 5 PM based on availability.

The Kansas City Metro is very large and sometimes, not knowing how large it is, people will book hotels in the Kansas City area, not knowing that the drive from their hotel to Arrowhead can be over 30 minutes.

And while a scenic drive through the Kansas City area is an enjoyable activity, it may not be best for those looking to come see a game. Having gone to two Chiefs games before, I know firsthand how hectic it can be to get in and out of the stadium, especially for those not native to the Kansas City area.

Arrowhead Stadium has been the home of the Kansas City Chiefs professional football team since it opened in 1972. It is adjacent to Kauffman Stadium , where the Kansas City Royals professional baseball team plays. (In fact, there is even a private underground service tunnel between the two.)

Football fans can tour the roughly 80,000-seat Arrowhead Stadium in a number of ways. Public, guided tours last 90 minutes and take visitors through the press box, the CommunityAmerica Club Level, the locker room, the field and the Chiefs Hall of Honor Presented by Spectrum. Public tours are offered on Fridays at 2 or 4 p.m. and on Saturdays at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m., and tickets cost $30 for adults and $25 for kids. If you’re looking for a more exclusive experience, consider a private guided tour (which visits the same areas of the stadium, but in a one-on-one setting) or a game day tour, which includes a 60-minute walk through the press box and the Chiefs Hall of Honor Presented by Spectrum, followed by 20 minutes on the sidelines of the field during the pregame activities. To schedule a tour, visit the Chiefs website .

Whether they took a tour or simply attended a Kansas City Chiefs game, recent visitors of the stadium gave it mostly high praise. Some noted that children were especially thrilled to see behind-the-scenes areas of the stadium, but adults said they had a great time as well. If you plan to visit the stadium for a game, past patrons warn it is best to arrive early since parking fills up early and can become chaotic, and traffic getting into the stadium can get heavy. Those watching a game should also note that the stadium accepts only clear handbags and very small clutches, so be sure to take these restrictions into account before you head out.

What do tickets cost to see Chiefs-Ravens in 1st NFL game of the season?

It looks like the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will have the shortest offseason of any NFL team this coming year.

On Thursday, Sept. 5, Patrick Mahomes and co. are scheduled to kick off the 2024 regular season against Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens at their home Arrowhead Stadium.

The last time the teams met was in the 2024 AFC Championship game where Kansas City eked out a 17-10 victory behind eventual Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes’ 30-for-39 passing and 241 yards; his only touchdown pass in the contest was caught by tight end Travis Kelce.

Two weeks later, the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas to win their second consecutive Super Bowl.

And if you want to be there to catch the defending NFL champions begin their march toward an unprecedented third Super Bowl in a row, tickets are available to see the Chiefs take on the Ravens in their first game of the season as soon as today.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets was $306 before fees on Vivid Seats.

100-level seats start at $469 before fees .

For those that can’t make it to the Week 1 showdown, the Chiefs have a number of other big games at home this season. They’re also slated to face the Saints , Buccaneers and Texans on their own turf.

Dates for those games will become available when the NFL officially releases their 2024 schedule on Wednesday, May 15.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

A complete breakdown of all the best prices on tickets by section at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs-Ravens Sept. 5 game can be found below.

(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time. All prices are in US dollars, subject to fluctuation and include additional fees at checkout .)

While we don’t know when the Chiefs will be playing at home, the NFL has announced who the team is playing at home.

Key Background

Single-game tickets for the NFL released on Wednesday night after the league put out its full season schedule live on national television. Season tickets and some multi-game packages were available ahead of time, but Wednesday marked the first day fans could buy individual seats with a date and time locked in. Ticket prices for football games have been steadily rising for decades and, alongside a surge in peer-to-peer online resale, have largely become inaccessible to the average fan—the average NFL ticket cost $377 last year, USA Today reported , up from $235 in 2022. Sporting event ticket prices rose more than twice as fast as overall consumer prices from 1999 to 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics .

Crucial Quote

Teams “don’t care if families can’t afford the seats as long as they can still hook them watching TV,” Victor Matheson, a sports economist at College of the Holy Cross, told CNN.

Even though ticket sales rise on average almost every year (including the price of resale tickets), not every team raises prices at the source each season. For the 2024 season, about a dozen of 32 teams announced they would be raising ticket prices, including the Baltimore Ravens , Buffalo Bills , San Francisco 49ers , Washington Commanders and North Carolina Panthers , the worst team in the league. The Detroit Lions hiked prices the most this year, informing season ticket holders of a 30% increase on average with some tickets rising in cost by as much as 85%, according to Front Office Sports .

Forbes Valuation

All but one of the teams that announced ticket price hikes this year have billionaire owners. The Green Bay Packers is a publicly owned , not-for-profit team.

Las Vegas Raiders 2024 schedule: Only 2 spotlight games for Antonio Pierce’s crew

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - DECEMBER 14: Jack Jones #18 of the Las Vegas Raiders celebrates with head coach Antonio Pierce of the Las Vegas Raiders after a pick six during an NFL football game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers at Allegiant Stadium on December 14, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Michael Owens/Getty Images)

Who were the biggest winners and losers of the NFL schedule release ? Jeff Howe has you covered.

Apparently, the national public is over the whole Antonio Pierce thing. And the lovely, shiny Allegiant Stadium? Old news.

The biggest surprise with this year’s schedule release is that the Las Vegas Raiders only have two spotlight games, down from five in 2023 and 2021, and four in 2022. The Raiders travel to Kansas City for a Black Friday game against the Chiefs in Week 13, and then host the Atlanta Falcons on “Monday Night Football” two weeks later. Even that Monday night game comes during one of the league’s Monday doubleheaders, with the Raiders kicking off 30 minutes after the Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears .

No gimmicks. #RaiderNation pic.twitter.com/douAkUnZwH — Las Vegas Raiders (@Raiders) May 16, 2024

The Raiders are trying to pick up where they left off last season when they won three out of four under Pierce to finish 8-9. But it won’t be easy as the Raiders open on the road the first two weeks at the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens before playing their home opener Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers .

Week 1 keys to victory

The last time the Raiders played the Chargers, Los Angeles laid down like dogs as the Raiders put up 63 points. That performance cost coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco their jobs the next morning. But Telesco is back as the Raiders’ general manager, as owner Mark Davis decided he really wanted someone with experience this time. As always in this matchup, the Raiders must contain quarterback Justin Herbert and pass rusher Khalil Mack , and the first one will be a little easier with receiver Keenan Allen now on the Bears. One interesting storyline is that the Raiders never considered Jim Harbaugh for their coaching vacancy due to Pierce’s success and hold on the locker room, and now they square off in Harbaugh’s debut.

Must-watch game: vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Black Friday (Week 13)

First off, the Raiders should own Black Friday like the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions do Thanksgiving. And it should always be in Las Vegas (because the Black Hole in Oakland is no longer available). Last year, the Raiders ruined Christmas for Taylor Swift and her Chiefies, so a revenge holiday-esque meeting in Kansas City sounds pretty good. That was the last game the Chiefs lost last season before going on another Super Bowl run, and Kansas City fans probably haven’t forgotten Jack Jones’ glorious pick-six interception where he talked trash to Patrick Mahomes as he ran it in or how he offered the football to a kid in the stands before pulling it back. The Raiders scored two defensive TDs in that game, and their defense is even better now. Yeah, Maxx Crosby and company can’t wait for this one, either.

Toughest stretch: Weeks 11-14

There aren’t any truly gruesome stretches like in previous years. Even the first two games being on the road isn’t that bad, considering how many Raiders fans come to Chargers games. So, we’ll go with the stretch after the bye week. The Raiders have three of four games on the road against playoff teams, traveling to Miami, Kansas City and Tampa Bay, with a home game against the Denver Broncos sandwiched in for Week 12. The Dolphins did get worse this past offseason and the Buccaneers don’t really scare anybody, so again, it’s not that bad.

Game that has gotten tougher: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers , Week 6

Games against the Steelers are always tough and ugly, but this one now has a revenge angle. Russell Wilson was interested in coming to Las Vegas after the Broncos pulled the plug on him, but the Raiders had no interest, opting instead to go with Gardner Minshew II (and Aidan O’Connell , if he beats out the free-agent signee). Were the Raiders right? Or will Wilson show that they made a big mistake? Will Ciara perform at halftime?

One game the Raiders can’t afford to lose: vs. Carolina Panthers, Week 3

The Panthers were the worst team in football last season and should still be among the league’s bottom feeders this year. The Raiders seem to have ugly losses against inferior opponents annually, but they can’t drop this one in the home opener against Carolina. If they do, chances are this will be a rough season.

Best offense the Raiders will face: Miami Dolphins (Week 11)

The Dolphins set the league on fire last season to the tune of 29.1 points (second) and 401.3 yards per game (first). They slowed down toward the end of the season and floundered in the playoffs, but their offense is still electric. The offensive line is so-so, but quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can put up big numbers, running backs Raheem Mostert , De’Von Achane and Jaylen Wright have explosive speed, the receiving trio of Tyreek Hill , Jaylen Waddle and Odell Beckham Jr. is elite and even old friend Alec Ingold is a useful piece as a fullback. The Raiders held the Dolphins to just 20 points in their matchup last season, so they’ve shown they can slow them down, but it remains the toughest task on their schedule.

Best defense the Raiders will face: Kansas City Chiefs (Week 8 and 13)

While the Chiefs traded away star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed this offseason, they brought back most of their starters from what was a dominant unit last season. Kansas City allowed 17.3 points per game (second) and only gave up 4.7 yards per play (fifth) in 2023. They had one of the best pass rushes in the league, were decent against the run and had an excellent secondary. Steve Spagnuolo is arguably the NFL ’s best defensive coordinator. The defending champions will at least have to deal with tight end Brock Bowers after the Raiders have had headaches trying to cover Travis Kelce all these years.

chiefs stadium tour cost

Predicted record: 8-9

The Raiders should have a good defense — that sentence still feels strange to type — but the big question mark is the offense. Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy struggled in the same role with the Bears the last two seasons and has to prove he’s capable of putting together a productive offense. Whether Minshew or O’Connell wins the starting job, it’s hard to feel great about the quarterback situation. The offensive line and pass catching unit appear stronger on paper and Zamir White looked like a lead running back toward the end of last season, but the uncertainty between Getsy and the quarterback is cause for pause. Unless Bowers has a breakout year, the offense just isn’t good enough for the Raiders to break into the playoffs.

Predicted AFC West finish: Second

1. Chiefs, 2. Raiders, 3. Chargers, 4. Broncos

There’s little reason to expect anything other than the Chiefs winning the division for the ninth straight season. At this point, the rest of the division is still playing catch-up. The Raiders should be better than the Chargers and Broncos, but they’re not ready to dethrone the Chiefs.

Gagarin cup (khl) finals:  atlant moscow oblast vs. salavat yulaev ufa.

Much like the Elitserien Finals, we have a bit of an offense vs. defense match-up in this league Final.  While Ufa let their star top line of Alexander Radulov, Patrick Thoresen and Igor Grigorenko loose on the KHL's Western Conference, Mytischi played a more conservative style, relying on veterans such as former NHLers Jan Bulis, Oleg Petrov, and Jaroslav Obsut.  Just reaching the Finals is a testament to Atlant's disciplined style of play, as they had to knock off much more high profile teams from Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg to do so.  But while they did finish 8th in the league in points, they haven't seen the likes of Ufa, who finished 2nd.

This series will be a challenge for the underdog, because unlike some of the other KHL teams, Ufa's top players are generally younger and in their prime.  Only Proshkin amongst regular blueliners is over 30, with the work being shared by Kirill Koltsov (28), Andrei Kuteikin (26), Miroslav Blatak (28), Maxim Kondratiev (28) and Dmitri Kalinin (30).  Oleg Tverdovsky hasn't played a lot in the playoffs to date.  Up front, while led by a fairly young top line (24-27), Ufa does have a lot of veterans in support roles:  Vyacheslav Kozlov , Viktor Kozlov , Vladimir Antipov, Sergei Zinovyev and Petr Schastlivy are all over 30.  In fact, the names of all their forwards are familiar to international and NHL fans:  Robert Nilsson , Alexander Svitov, Oleg Saprykin and Jakub Klepis round out the group, all former NHL players.

For Atlant, their veteran roster, with only one of their top six D under the age of 30 (and no top forwards under 30, either), this might be their one shot at a championship.  The team has never won either a Russian Superleague title or the Gagarin Cup, and for players like former NHLer Oleg Petrov, this is probably the last shot at the KHL's top prize.  The team got three extra days rest by winning their Conference Final in six games, and they probably needed to use it.  Atlant does have younger regulars on their roster, but they generally only play a few shifts per game, if that.

The low event style of game for Atlant probably suits them well, but I don't know how they can manage to keep up against Ufa's speed, skill, and depth.  There is no advantage to be seen in goal, with Erik Ersberg and Konstantin Barulin posting almost identical numbers, and even in terms of recent playoff experience Ufa has them beat.  Luckily for Atlant, Ufa isn't that far away from the Moscow region, so travel shouldn't play a major role.

I'm predicting that Ufa, winners of the last Superleague title back in 2008, will become the second team to win the Gagarin Cup, and will prevail in five games.  They have a seriously well built team that would honestly compete in the NHL.  They represent the potential of the league, while Atlant represents closer to the reality, as a team full of players who played themselves out of the NHL.

  • Atlant @ Ufa, Friday Apr 8 (3:00 PM CET/10:00 PM EST)
  • Atlant @ Ufa, Sunday Apr 10 (1:00 PM CET/8:00 AM EST)
  • Ufa @ Atlant, Tuesday Apr 12 (5:30 PM CET/12:30 PM EST)
  • Ufa @ Atlant, Thursday Apr 14 (5:30 PM CET/12:30 PM EST)

Games 5-7 are as yet unscheduled, but every second day is the KHL standard, so expect Game 5 to be on Saturday, like an early start.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

chiefs stadium tour cost

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

chiefs stadium tour cost

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

chiefs stadium tour cost

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

chiefs stadium tour cost

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

chiefs stadium tour cost

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
