Spanx AirEssentials half-zip
This cozy gift is perfect for travel enthusiasts and athleisure lovers. The half-zip pullover is made with a soft, lightweight fabric and offers a cozy oversized fit for easy layering.
CBS Essentials editorial director Leslie Gornstein shared that she saw someone wearing the AirEssentials top and matching lounge pants at the airport and immediately wanted a set for herself. Even Oprah Winfrey is a fan .
"Wow. Wow. Wow," Winfrey says. "May I tell you I got this set last year? I wore it in a photo shoot for 'O' and never looked back. This is the most comfortable fabric -- now in new sophisticated colors."
Inflatable Travel Air Pillow
Traditional travel pillows usually just go around your neck for a bit of added support, but this one takes things to the next level, making it an innovative gift idea for travelers.
"Get a real travel pillow," Gornstein says. "Not the kind that they sell at the airport. Not the kind that goes viral on social. The kind that works. I do not sleep upright with my head lolling to one side and do not know anyone else who does. I sleep like a person, which means I need a travel pillow that lets me lean forward and mimic sleeping on my side or stomach."
This pillow is $21, reduced from $25.
Herschel classic backpack
Gift the perfect personal item for air travel with this Herschel backpack.
"I used to be one of those people who needed to look super cute with a trendy over-the-shoulder carry-on bag," Gornstein says. "Then I got real. Get a super-cute backpack and enjoy the magic of hands-free navigation through security and airports and all this."
This 4-star-rated backpack is currently $38, reduced from $55. That's 31% off.
It comes in six colors and prints and in three different sizes.
Nintendo Switch OLED Mario Kart 8 bundle
For the gamer who loves to travel, CBS Essentials managing editor Fox Van Allen recommends this Nintendo Switch bundle.
"When I'm not snoozing on the plane, I pull out my Nintendo Switch to pass the time during those long cross-country flights," Van Allen says. "The Nintendo Switch OLED edition has an improved and brighter screen, which will make all the latest games look extra sharp. This version comes bundled with the popular game Mario Kart 8, making it perfect for gifting."
This bundle, a $410 value, is currently on sale at Walmart for $348 this holiday season.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
If the traveling gamer in your life already has a Nintendo Switch, consider gifting them a game instead.
This new release is an excellent choice (and if you're not convinced, you can read our full review of the game ).
"This new release is easily the best 2D Super Mario Bros. game in decades," Van Allen says. "It features all your favorite characters and mechanics from the franchise, including new power ups (Elephant Mario!) and new secrets. Especially fun is the addition of Wonder Flowers, all of which have unique game-changing effects."
Monos Metro crossbody bag
The Monos Metro crossbody is a great compact option for carrying your daily essentials while traveling.
It offers plenty of storage space and hands-free carrying.
For me, CBS Essentials writer Kaylyn McKenna, a good cross-body day bag is a travel must-have. I like something light that can hold the basics like my phone, cards and hotel key while I go sightseeing.
This unisex Monos crossbody makes a great travel gift for men or women.
Reading is a great way to pass the time during a flight or a relaxing activity to enjoy while lounging by the hotel pool or at the beach.
Gornstein recommends a Kindle as one of the best gifts for travelers as the e-reader is lightweight, easy to add books to and can be used at any point in the flight.
Find this Kindle in two colors and in ad-supported or non-ad-supported versions. It comes with three months of Kindle Unlimited for free.

Our editors' favourite travel gift ideas
By Lauren Burvill
If you're set to give a gift to someone who loves travel or is planning a big trip, then consider this your cue to forgo a generic voucher gift and give something with a practical or travel-inspired twist. From must-haves for plane travel to inspiring books and time-saving gadgets, the following are our top picks of the best travel gifts to give in 2024.
The gift of stress-free travel
For all the joy a holiday can bring, the actual travel element can be rife with stress, from lost luggage to misplaced passports and navigating busy airports. As frequent flyers ourselves, our editors have navigated a multitude of bumps on our travels, and found that the below buys are great for making the journey a lot smoother.
For the loved one who’s a frequent flyer, Antler’s zippy hard shell Clifton cabin bag is a winner. The durable yet lightweight polycarbonate case features a twist-grip handle, making it very easy to wheel it around the airport at speed. A favourite of our editors, this case is both a great size and quality, and also looks smart, with seven subdued shades to choose from.
Aspinal of London’s travel collection makes for a classic gift to give any travel lover. Including a passport holder, luggage tags and travel wallet, the collection is made from full-grain leather and comes in six elegant shades and finishes. The brand also offers a personalisation option, so you can add the recipient's initials for a special personalised touch.
Anya Hindmarch’s in-flight travel bag is a game changer when it comes to staying organised on the go. Designed with air travel in mind, the carry-on bag has an array of clever features including a sleeve designed to sit over the bag of a luggage trolley and a clear removable pouch to store liquids. We also love the numerous internal and external organisational pockets, each with its own embossed label covering all of the travel essentials like ‘passport’ ‘keys’ ‘glasses,’ ‘headphones’ and ‘water.’
Since its release in 2021, Apple’s Bluetooth AirTag has become a must-have for frequent travellers or anyone prone to misplacing their keys. Simply attach the small button-shaped AirTag to your suitcase and connect to your iPad or iPhone via Bluetooth. Once connected you can find your item via the built-in speaker when it’s nearby or via the Precision Finding function on the app when it’s further away.
Finished, naturally, in beautifully soft Nappa leather, Mulberry’s passport cover has a soft grain effect and comes in a selection of chic colours to match your handbag. There are three slip pockets inside for all your docs along with four card slots. A must-have companion for keeping all your important travel documents together safely.
There's nothing like a dead battery to slow down a trip. Keep all your accessories charged up with a power bank. Anker is our favourite – it weighs just over 300 grams (or as little as a can as soup) but can charge an iPhone 8 almost seven times, the Galaxy S8 five times, or the iPad mini 4 twice.
A travel wash bag is key to staying organised — and avoiding spills in your luggage. We like this option from Away for its water-resistant materials and ample space for your toothbrush and toothpaste, razor, soaps, and more. A hanging bag also allows you to keep items tidy and off the bathroom counter.
For international travel, a power adapter is a must to make sure you can get devices charged up in the airport and your hotel room. Apple's World Travel Adapter Kit comes with seven AC plugs with prongs that fit into different electrical outlets around the world, and each one is labelled with the regions they are compatible with.
This is a fun idea for the friend who likes to be organised. Papier’s travel journals have pages for planning and memorialising six special trips, with space for noting down budgets, itineraries, packing lists and other important details. Long flight? There are travel games at the back, along with pages for journalling and scrapbooking.
The gift of sleeping on a plane
Standing down the hours of a long haul flight is made all the more easier with a gift that doubles as a travel hack. When it comes to feeling comfortable and getting some shut eye, the littlest luxuries can make a huge difference.
Trtl has revamped its clever wrap-style neck pillow to accommodate people of all heights more comfortably. The latest iteration is adjustable, to better suit your particular requirements, and the pillow section itself has been given a high-density foam makeover. Trtl’s offering is a lot smaller than standard U-shaped pillows, and weighs a petite 225 grams, so it won’t take up precious space in your hand luggage – or you could use the included clip to attach it to your rucksack .
Neal's Yard products make a lovely treat, whether you're travelling or not. This mini travel kit comprises all the skincare routine you'll need – bar SPF – for a 10 to 14 day trip, in a hand luggage-friendly size. This particular set is from the brand's Rose range, which uses highly fragrant roses grown and distilled in Bulgaria, farming co-operatives in Turkey and at high altitude on Mount Lebanon. Something globetrotters will surely appreciate.
When it comes to what to wear on a long flight , an oversized hoodie is hard to beat. Team it with a pair of comfortable leggings or a matching jogger, add a cashmere blanket and get ready to drift off. For a hoodie that makes a great gift, we love this elevated organic cotton style, embroidered with the Vogue logo for the ultimate fashion stamp of approval.
Skip the in-flight blankets provided by airlines – not only are they wasteful but also made from scratchy polyester. A much more luxurious alternative is a cashmere blanket, which not only feels softer but has an insulation capacity that's three times higher than wool, ideal for maintaining body temperature during a long flight.
Elizabeth Scarlett’s signature delicate embroidered designs features here on a 100 per cent cotton eye mask, helping travellers claw back a few precious hours’ shuteye while en route. Cleverly, the mask is filled with a sweet lavender blend to maximise the relaxation in use – a real treat.
The gift of jet-set style
Airport style had a big moment in 2023, with travellers walking the line between classic style and total comfort, and a subtle nod to celebrity paparazzi photos. The outfit formula is all about a designer loungewear set in a muted shade, teamed with comfortable trainers, a cap, sunglasses and a hardshell suitcase in a classic neutral shade .
German designer luggage brand Rimowa has some of the slickest suitcases on the market, with their classic aluminium cases proving the envy of all frequent flyers.
Merch fans will love the latest collaboration between designer denim brand Frame and legendary hotel the Ritz Paris. This Cashmere knit, embroidered with the hotelier's iconic logo, is the epitome of jet-set chic.
For a designer luggage tag that doesn't take itself too seriously, this cheerful lobster tag is part of a collaboration between cult cool-brand Loewe and the irreverent Paula's Ibiza. It's made in Italy from 100% leather and embossed with the brand's signature Anagram logo. It also comes with a dustbag, to keep him safe when not on his travels
Gucci has elevated the humble souvenir sticker with their ultra-stylish set of retro-logo luggage stickers. Perfect for personalising a suitcase, or adding to any travel accessory – travel wallet or luggage tag – these stickers are a playful way to add personality to any journey.
A secret beauty weapon for well-heeled travellers, this thick, creamy and super-hydrating mask is the key to caring for skin while in-transit. The mask features chestnut extract exfoliates to take away dullness, allowing for deeper penetration of Vitamin C to brighten. Green tea soothes and calms redness, and niacinamide reduces pores and fine lines. You can wear it throughout a flight, overnight or as a 10-minute mask.
This portable all-in-one dressing table by Beautifect is a game changer for regular travellers – it might even replace your makeup bag at home. The easy-to-carry box features a table, adjustable mirror, and storage, as well as an impressive lighting system that offers five different environments including true daylight. We also love that the box is powered by a standard USB-C and can last up to a month on just one single charge.
The gift of avoiding baggage fees
Packing hacks were a big talking point this year, with the below buys ranking top of our list when it came to travelling carry on luggage only.
It might be called an overnight bag, but if you pack strategically Antler's Chelsea bag can easily work as a weekender bag. This is a worthy investment for frequent flyers – in addition to numerous internal and external pockets and compartments, including a laptop sleeve and a water bottle pouch, it also has an over-handle sleeve, making it an ideal option to take on a long-haul flight . The bag is made in a durable water-resistant nylon and comes in nine different colour options, which of course match their Chelsea suitcase range .
For a do-it-all tote bag, it’s easy to see why this style from July is a best seller. Firstly the size – the large tote has room for 22 litres, plenty of space for packing a whole weekend’s worth of items. Then there are the organisation options – a dedicated laptop sleeve, a drink bottle holder, a pocket for a phone and wallet, as well as a zip-up pocket ideal for storing a passport. There are two external pockets, one that’s hidden and secured with a magnet, as well as a sleeve to slip over a luggage handle, so it can easily sit safely on top of a suitcase.
Australian luggage brand July has developed the world’s lightest carry-on suitcase. Weighing in at a dainty 1.8kg, the July Carry On Light, £195, offers a 32L capacity, aerospace-grade polycarbonate shell, specially-designed noise-reducing wheels, and a lifetime guarantee. The case is available in nine colours and also offers a personalisation service as well.
Packing cubes are a game-changer for hand luggage aficionados, helping you squeeze more into your case in a way that’s pleasingly effective. This set of four gives you space to separate your clothes, underwear, electronics and toiletries, while the mesh windows ensure you can see what you need to grab at-a-glance.
Even travellers with a library full of books at home have to admit it: E-readers are an essential travel accessory for bookworms . They are so much lighter than even one paperback book, and let you bring as many options as you want along for the ride.
The gift of armchair travel
Our pick of the best transportive gifts that bring the essence of travel to your home.
Loewe's collaboration with Paula's Ibiza perfectly captures summer in Ibiza in a rainbow ombre bottle. The woody-meets-floral fragrance combines notes of citrusy orange flower, jasmine sambac, incense essential oil and frankincense, creating an evocative bohemian scent that any sun-worshipper will love.
Transport your gift recipient to the fragrant fields of Southern India via Diptyque's delicately scented tuberose candle. Inspired by visits to Indochina in the 1930s, the heady yet fresh and green scent is available in a dreamy oceanic blue jar as part of the limited edition Don Son collection , which draws upon the childhood memories of Yves Coueslant, one of the Maison's founders.
Cult favourite London restaurant BAO released its first recipe book earlier this year, offering up the secrets to 100 of its most beloved Taiwanese-inspired dishes. Keen cooks can now recreate their famous steamed buns at home, as well as Taiwanese fried chicken, beef noodles, snack-size xiao chi, and more.
Assouline’s much sought-after coffee table books make for the ultimate wanderlust-meets-decor gift. On the outside these beautiful hardcover travel books add a fun splash of colour to any room, while inside they feature dreamy imagery and inspiring stories from some of the world’s most beloved destinations.
The gift of adventure
Practical gift ideas for those who prefer a hike over a sun lounger.
With an impressive 42L capacity, this Stubble & Co carry-on travel backpack is ideal for hands-free travel on trips that last three-to-five days. It's packed with clever features, including a 16" laptop sleeve, a clamshell opening for easy packing, a hidden valuables compartment, and a reflective rain cover to ensure you stay visible and your gear stays dry in wet weather. Compression straps keep everything as compact as possible, and there's a passthrough band to attach it to your case as well.
When we asked Victoria Beckham , earlier this year, about her most beloved travel item, she name dropped Yeti. The popular American drinkwear brand is the ultimate go-to for any adventure traveller, especially for camping or hiking trips. Their classic Rambler bottle is a winner when it comes to travel; made from stainless steel and vacuum insulated, so your water will stay cold for hours.
Okay, yes – it’s a gift card. But no gift guide is complete without one option and, as far as stereotypical vouchers-as-presents go, this is a pretty good one to receive. With a feast of stunning properties available to book across the globe, from London to New York and beyond, the keys to a new Airbnb makes an ideal gift for a globetrotting loved one ready to tick off the next trip on their list.
The gift of distraction
For the little travellers in your life, these clever buys will help to ensure an easier journey. For more ideas, see our pick of the best travel toys .
It’s rare to take a trip to the airport without spotting at least one of Trunki’s cheery suitcases in the waiting room. The designs are practical and fun, with a roomy 18 litre storage capacity for toys, clothes and games. As a bonus, the cases have a saddle seat and tow strap, allowing for easy tot transportation from check-in desk to gate.
This made-for-kids tablet could be the key to a peaceful flight, car journey, ferry ride and more. It comes with 1 year of Amazon Kids+ content so your little one can watch all the Peppa Pig they want, and has a sturdy kid-proof case (available in three different coloured) to protect it against the inevitable drops and bumps.
The mini size of the popular Yoto audio player is perfect for travelling. Compact and easy-to-use for kids aged 3+, the collectable cards which play stories and interactive games are also easy to pack. It also doubles as a speaker and alarm clock and the extended battery life means it's a great companion for long journeys.
If the goal is to get maximum entertainment from just one toy, then busy boards are a miraculous invention for children from a few months to a few years old. The ARVRI Sensory Busy Board offers 15 different activities in a book-style carrying case that’s just a tiny bit larger than an A4 sheet of paper.

Best Gifts for Travelers under $100
1. apple air tags.
Lost luggage has become common and Apple Air Tags have been a huge help for finding our bags. We lost our luggage en route to an Alaskan cruise and actually sent the airline a screenshot of where our bag was in the airport. When looking for a travel gift, this is the most practical gift you can give. When you can’t travel carry on only, Apple Air Tags are a must-have travel gear item that helps give your loved one peace of mind.
2. Travel Packing Cubes
There is a reason that packing cubes are always popular. Packing cubes make great stocking stuffers and are an affordable option for organizing your travel bag. I stuff clothes, and electronics, and even use as a laundry bag to keep my back from from smelling. Everything is neatly packed away in color-coded cubes making my travels more organized and less cluttered. These compression packing cubes always make one of the best travel gifts every year.
3. White Noise Machine
Dave and I cannot sleep without white noise. This white noise machine will drown out loud neighbors, thumping music, and snoring loved one. We were recently in Chile and music was playing all night long. Others in our group didn’t sleep a wink, but we had our white noise matching going and didn’t wake up once. For frequent travelers or first-time travelers, this is the perfect piece of travel gear to add to their travel bag.
4. The Trtl Travel Neck Pillow
Sleeping on planes can be a pain in the neck (See what I did there?), but with the Trtl Neck travel pillow , those days of needing to blow up a neck pillow are long gone. This is the Cadillac of all-neck pillows and one of the best gifts for frequent world travelers who are on planes a lot. It is scientifically proven to support your neck and aid sleep during long flights. And let me tell you this works. If you want to be comfortable on your next plane ride then get one of these.
5. Belkin Mini Surge Protector
If you read our blog often, you’ll know that I recommend the Belkin as one of the top pieces of travel equipment out there and one we recommend every year. The Belkin Mini Surge Protector is probably one of the most useful pieces of travel ger you can get someone. It not only protects your electronics from power surges, but it also charges several things at once with 3 outlets and 2 USB ports.
6. Portable Charger and Power Bank
Everybody needs a portable charger when they are traveling. Nothing is more frustrating than having your phone or iPad die at the wrong moment. That is why we use the PowerCore Lite 20000 . 7. SleepPhones
When it comes to travel accessories, comfort is key! I always suggest having noise-canceling headphones on an airplane, but when you go to sleep on long haul flights, it can be difficult to keep them on your head. And they get in the way. Plus, I never sleep in my Apple Air Pods for fear of having them fall on the floor and they’ll be gone for good.
These SleepPhones have Bluetooth technology and are wireless. They are great to use to fall asleep while listening to soothing music or audiobooks and they take up no space in your carry on. There’s an easy sizing guide that worked great. I ordered a medium and it fits perfectly. Check them out and see what you think

The BioLite AlpenGlo 250 great gift for travelers who love to get outdoors, go on camping trips and get off the beaten path. There is nothing worse than getting to the airport check-in counter and finding out you have to pay a fee for overweight luggage. We have started carrying a portable carry-on travel bag on all of our trips because it has so many uses. With just a little care on the flight, you can arrive a little more refreshed.
17. No Ordinary Eye Mask
One of the things I love about this Pretty Care Travel Eye Mask is that it doesn’t rest on your eyes. It is raised so there is no pressure on them like traditional eye masks. I have also been wearing this neck fan to keep cool. It is less intrusive as most people think I am just wearing headphones. This has been a lifesaver for hot flashes while traveling on airplanes, buses, and trains.
29. Travel Jewelry Box
I love wearing necklaces and bracelets from my travels and while traveling. It’s my main travel souvenir. But I must admit, I lose them and get them tangled constantly. A travel jewelry roll bag is perfect for women who want to organize their rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. I don’t wear a lot of rings or earrings, so I prefer this rolling velvet clutch, but you can check them both out to see what is the best fit.

46. Level8 Luggage for Traveling
I think we have tried every type of carry-on luggage out there over the years and we love this Pro Carry-on with Laptop Pocket by Level8. We felt so chic going through the airport with these hard cases and modern design and it was easy t o pop out my laptop and documents right from the front of my carry-on when going through security.
For our checked bags, our yellow Voyageur Check-In 28′ turned heads. We didn’t worry about anyone mixing up our bags on the conveyor belt with our unique color and design. We found the 28-inch a bit too large, but you can order 24′ or 26′. But with the large handle and ultra-quite 360° spinner wheels it was super easy to navigate through the airport.
- On a personal note, my hard case carry on fell from the top of a van on my trip and because my laptop was secure in the front hard case pocket, it wasn’t damaged. That was a huge relief. Save 10% off all products with the code ThePlanetD10

We tried to put together a really comprehensive list that includes al the best gifts for travelers. Glad you liked it!
Honestly, a lot of those travel gifts for women are great. Yes, they are archetypically female, but it sounds like he based the list on women he polled. I think what some of the female readers were hoping to point out was that most of the items mentioned in the female section were pointedly appealing and useful to women alone, and none necessarily engaged the mind or body. While the male section, barring a few items , women would genuinely find equal interest in, so could have easily gone into the “everyone” section. This list is helpful and is meant with only good intentions. Looks like most are taking it as such.
Very true. We tried to break things up a bit to give people some organization, but I agree, I would use all of them as well!
Great list, a lot of cool ideas there! How about adding a translator like Travis or Pocketalk? I’m thinking to get one for my dad but I’m waiting for Black Friday offers. Keep up the good work Matt 🙂

Wonderful. I am get some of these gifts for myself. I just love this list. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for sharing such a unique list. You always impress us. The one thing that stands apart from the list and my personal favorite would be the GOPRO HERO 8 BLACK. This is the best partner you could take along while traveling or while gifting something to a traveler this is the best choice one could get, as it helps in catching all the memories that would remain with you forever. The one and the only thing i would like to add to this list is the City Map Glass. If your dad’s a whiskey drinker who likes to travel, this custom city map glass is about as thoughtful a gift as it gets. The best part is it’s personalized (which will make it even more special). Yo get to choose his favorite city to get etched into the glass, so every time he has a drink, he’ll reminisce on his best memories.
I got the same world map pillow! Its a shame that it looks better than feels=) However they were made for visual pleasure and they do their job
Pop Fashion Hidden Pocket Scarves also look better than feels, but does its job=) Pretty nice thing, especially when you and on tours and trips

If someone handover to me to select the best gift for a traveller, I would select Go Pro Hero 7. And I’m damn sure s/he will be happy after getting this kind of gift. Because an action camera is mandatory for a traveller nowadays. Travellers move from here to there and captured their memory, scenery and other things by a camera. I had gifted that DJI Mavic Pro to one of my friend long back. He really liked it too much and after 2 years also if we meet then again and again he says thanks for that amazing moving camera. It was costly for me (at $1250 i got that time) but i am very happy that my best friend is happy to use it.
Great posts! How do you always come up with such unique ideas?
hank you for sharing your blog
I love giving the Karmin T70 hair clippers as a gift 😉
Great post! I’ll be forward this to my family for some holiday shopping ideas. 🙂 I’m also really looking forward to the Pilot from Waverly Labs, which is an earpiece that translates foreign languages in real time. It sounds too-good-to-be-true, but the tech seems legit. While it might take away a bit of the fun from learning new languages, can you imagine the kind of interactions you’d be able to have with non-English speaking locals? What time to be alive!
I would love about…oh, 90% of the stuff on this list, even though in a few cases I already have something very similar to it already. Some would actually be great for the occasional travelers on this list or the many campers we have in my husband’s family. Thanks for providing some inspiration for my upcoming Christmas shopping!

You can find more gear we love in our packing tips section. https://theplanetd.com/category/travel-tips/packing-tips/
Awesome list guys. We would love a lot of them in our stocking. We are massive fans of the Sony RX100 series. We had the mark 2 and that was amazing, I can’t imagine what the mark 5 is like. Definitely would love the Mavic. Cheers for the great post.

By Samantha Schoech
Samantha Schoech is a writer focusing on gifts. She spends her time finding things that combine quality, beauty, usefulness, and delight.
The clock is ticking to buy Christmas gifts, but you still have a little time before Santa beats you to it—and we can help. We specialize in finding the absolute best gifts for all types, interests, and personalities. Our recommendations are based on the exhaustive research and testing that our experts work on all year, as well as on our staff’s personal experiences with giving and receiving. We’ve collected a handful of gems from our extensive catalog to help you find the perfect thing for a family member, friend, or distant acquaintance from the office.

Holiday tradition
BW Brands Festive Gumdrop Tree
Although it feels flimsy at first assembly, this clear plastic structure sturdily holds dozens of gumdrops and pleasantly sparks holiday nostalgia.
Buying Options
Many lucky people grew up with gumdrop trees, a seasonal treat that magically appeared in the homes of grandparents and great aunts around the holidays. This clear plastic version has spiky branches to hold gumdrops and a small dish at the base of the trunk for extras. It’s a foot tall, and it folds flat for storage. Is it a family heirloom? No. Some people do complain of it tipping when little hands harvest from one side only. Is it tremendously fun and nice to look at? Absolutely.
Cherry on top
Luxardo Original Maraschino Cherries
These maraschino cherries have been made in Italy for over 100 years, and they seriously elevate anyone’s cocktail game.
Marasca cherries from Croatia are soaked in Luxardo cherry syrup, and through a process of pasteurization, time, and something like magic, these deep red, flavorful, beautifully textured beauties are born. Use Luxardo cherries anywhere you would normally see neon red maraschinos: a Manhattan, a Shirley Temple, a tequila sunrise. The syrup itself can be used as a sweetener in cocktails or drizzled in fizzy water for a jolt of flavor.
Botanica Flameless Lighter
Flameless lighters use an arc of plasma (aka ionized gas) to ignite candles, stoves, joints, and more, and they charge through a handy USB port.
Sleeker, cleaner, and safer than matches, these beautifully colored flameless lighters are just right for lighting stoves, candles, and spliffs. And they don’t blow out in a breeze. Each lighter comes with a USB cord for recharging and a safety switch to prevent accidents. Like all flameless lighters, the plasma arc emits a soft but high-pitched sound that bothers some people. For the convenience, sustainability, and vibes, our tester was unbothered.
Anywhere fort
Tote-a-Fort The Original Kit
This kit comes with three parachute-textured blankets outfitted with velcro straps, ideal for crafting shelters. Anchor weights keep the fabric from sinking down, and a cinch sack stores it all.
It is universally understood that kids love forts. It’s also universally understood that they will tear apart the living room, bedroom, and linen closet in the pursuit of fort-building materials and that adults will eventually have to collect, fold, and stow it all away again. Unless, of course, the kids have their own designated fort-making kit . This one contains three 71-by-54-inch nylon blankets along with velcro straps, loops, and ties for attaching them to couches, tables, or any other suitable support. Three weighted anchor bags keep it from flapping or blowing around in the wind, and it all cleans up in a lightweight cinch bag—no folding necessary.
Campfire cooking
Breeo Outpost Grill
Campers and cabin-dwellers will appreciate this adjustable circular grate, which anchors reliably over any sized blaze.
Cooking over an open fire is romantic, delicious, and a formidable challenge. If someone you’re shopping for loves grilling alfresco but could use a leg up, consider the stainless steel Outpost Grill . First drive the anchor pole into the ground beside the fire, then screw on the circular cooking grate. Swivel it away to build your blaze, then slide the cooking surface up and down to control the sizzle factor. (The handle stays cool unless it’s licked with fire.) The grate doesn’t bow or bend, and the stainless steel finish is easy to clean. The Outpost Grill and its included carrying case weigh over 10 pounds, so it’s not for backpacking, but it’s a revelation for a backyard fire pit or a car camping trip.
Better dinking
Paddletek Bantam EX-L
Whether the person on your list is hitting soft, short dink shots at the net or slugging power strokes from the baseline, this paddle makes most shots feel accurate and effortless.
Anyone on the pickleball bandwagon might like an upgrade—or a ticket to hop on. Our pick for best pickleball paddles offers power and control, meaning it can handle the gentlest dinks and the hardest bangers. At 7.8 to 8.4 ounces (depending on the size), the Bantam EX-L paddle is easy on the wrists. The surface texture can help with accuracy and spin, and it comes with a one-year guarantee.
The Fuzzies
The deceptively simple object of this family game is to pluck a fuzzy from the tower and replace it on top without toppling the whole thing.
The Fuzzies has a lot in common with Jenga, but instead of wooden blocks, players carefully remove a single fuzzy ball from the tower using tweezers, place it atop the pile, and hope the whole thing doesn’t topple (at least it topples quietly). And instead of randomly picking a fuzzball to retrieve, players draw cards that direct them toward a color or some difficult-to-manage technique (like plucking a ball with your eyes closed). The instructions recommend players are ages 6 and up, but a dexterous 4-year-old will enjoy this game, as will most 40-year-olds.
Non-frumpy house shoes
Glerups Slip-On With Leather Sole
These Glerups slippers are the most durable and supportive felted-wool slippers we tested. They’re warm, but they breathe well, so your feet don’t get sweaty.
The facts are the facts: Slippers are a classic gift that most everyone is happy to receive. But what if you gave someone the most stylish, durable, and long-lasting slipper? What if you gave someone the last pair of slippers they’ll ever need? Such is the case with these Glerups Wool Slippers , which we’ve been wearing and recommending for years; no other felted-wool slippers we’ve tried have been as durable or supportive. Their open-heel design and their leather outsoles make them ideal for padding around the house or taking a quick step outside, but their sharp silhouette also makes them cool enough for greeting a delivery person or entertaining close friends.
A perfect pop
W&P The Popper
This silicone bowl is incredibly simple to use and easy to clean, and it folds down for more-efficient storage. However, it makes only 9 cups of popcorn at a time, its popcorn has a squeakier texture, and it leaves a lot of kernels unpopped.
True popcorn lovers know there’s no wrong way to pop. But you can always improve, and this dishwasher-safe and BPA-free silicone bowl is one of our all-time favorite popping methods . Add 5 tablespoons of kernels and microwave it for two minutes for 9 cups of perfectly airy, non-chemical-tinged popcorn. Adding oil is optional. If you’re worried about giving a single-use kitchen implement to someone with a small space, keep in mind that the bowl folds flat for easy storage—and takes up less kitchen-counter real estate than a plug-in air popper.
Safer candlelight
Wick Portable Table Lamp
This USB-rechargeable LED light is the modern version of a traditional chamberstick and dims or brightens with a touch.
Nothing is more romantic than a candlelit home, but nothing is scarier than the idea of that home burning down, either. The Wick is a high-tech option: an LED light fashioned after the form and function of a traditional chamberstick. The touch-sensor lamp glows warmly like a real candle, but depending on which of its four brightness settings your gift recipient activates, it can stay lit for 12 to 115 hours between charges. It even has a pulse mode to mimic the flicker of genuine candlelight.
Piscine pitcher
GurglePot Fish Pitcher
As it pours, this 42-ounce ceramic fish pitcher makes a soft and pleasant gurgling. Available in 16 cheerful shades, it makes a lovely vase, too.
There’s more than meets the eye with the ceramic GurglePot , although what meets the eye—glossy lacquered stoneware in 16 flashy shades, rendered as a jubilant open-mouthed fish—is pretty lovely, too. The pitcher also has something for the ears: As it pours, this 42-ounce vessel makes a soft and pleasant gurgling. Like the sounds of a seashell, the effect is charming and meditative. Wirecutter supervising editor Hannah Morrill has one and has given many, and she finds the GurglePot excellent for serving water at dinner parties or housing flowers in the spring and summer.
Salt cellar
Emile Henry Salt Pig
The unglazed interior of this ceramic salt cellar absorbs moisture, and the wide, curved opening provides easy access but also protects salt from splashes and spills.
Sometimes it’s our readers who know best. Last year, this salt pig from Emile Henry was tucked away in our hostess gift guide , only to surprise us as one of the top-selling gifts of the year. And for very good reason: Anyone who likes to cook—or likes to eat—would appreciate a suitable place for salt. This open-mouthed ceramic piece has a wide, angled opening, so you can easily grab a pinch, unlike with a lidded box or a small pot and a tiny spoon. Since the stoneware vessel also absorbs moisture, salt doesn’t flake. And it comes with a 10-year warranty.
Grown-up nightgown
Heirloom Art Co. Long Sleeve White Cotton Nightgown
These affordable nightgowns are old-fashioned in all the best ways, with options for ribbons, pleats, embroidery, and buttons on a variety of flowy styles. Be warned: They’re a bit transparent, for a barely there feel.
The Victorian-style white cotton nightgowns from Heirloom Art Co. come in 15 styles—with or without collars, buttons, pin tucks, embroidery, ruffles, and the like—but each and every one is lightweight, machine washable, and perfect for glamorously streaming Netflix after bedtime. Plus, come morning, your giftee can throw on a cardigan to make smoothies or even do school drop-off. The versatile coverups are unlined and not entirely opaque, so they’re subtly sexy, too. We also appreciate the range of sizes from XS to 1X; all the nightgowns hang loosely along the body, but it’s nice to have shoulders that fit, too.
Save a sticky note
Quartet Glass Desktop Dry-Erase Easel
This letter-size, glass dry-erase board resists staining and eliminates desktop paper clutter.
No matter if they’re running a Fortune 500 company from an office above their garage or running an overextended household, most folks have a near-constant need to jot down notes that they’ll refer to only once. (Think conference-call numbers, activation codes, takeout orders, or quickie to-dos.) This Quartet easel is a dry-erase clipboard that can stand upright or lie horizontally at a slight angle, but more importantly, it can rid one’s life of random sticky notes and back-of-the-napkin scribbles. At the end of each day, your gift recipient will especially appreciate the zen-like calm of erasing, only to begin again with a clean slate.
Cooler coasters
Graf Lantz Bierfilzl Merino Wool Felt Round Coasters
Merino wool felt coasters absorb condensation and don’t stick to the bottom of glasses. They come in dozens of colors, too.
Even if the person on your gift list already has coasters, these merino wool coasters from Graf Lantz would be a welcome addition. The super-absorbent felt pads are excellent for sweaty glasses and piping-hot mugs alike, and they wipe up easily should any vessel spill or drip. The style—the square or circular coasters come in vibrant sea shades, gem tones, or neutrals—is of course impeccable, suited for traditionalists, minimalists, and every -ist in between. True, the nubby surfaces readily collect dust and cat hair, but your giftee can easily revitalize them with a swift pass of a lint roller. Hannah has had hers for nearly a decade and says that they haven’t faded or fuzzed a bit after years of daily use.
Haute cocoa
Dandelion Chocolate Hot Chocolate Mix
Add milk (dairy or otherwise) to the mix for a smooth, rich, and deeply chocolatey cup of cocoa. Each jar makes four cups.
The inimitable watery, grainy powder-packet hot chocolate of school bake sale and municipal ice rink fame is nostalgic, but the fond memories evaporate after sip number two, and then you’re left wishing for the real deal. Dandelion Chocolate Hot Chocolate Mix , one of our favorites from testing, is the real deal. Your lucky gift recipient just needs to combine a few scoops of the 70% single-origin cacao from Camino Verde Cacao in Ecuador with hot water or milk for a profoundly rich, creamy cup. It’s not overly thick or sweet, though, so your giftee can actually finish a mug. And it comes in a Japanese-made jar that’s special enough to leave unwrapped.
Funky spinner
Radio Flyer Cyclone
Some kids as young as 3 can learn to maneuver the hand-pedaled Cyclone in the dizzying circles that no doubt inspired its name.
Senior editor Kalee Thompson was skeptical about this unusual-looking contraption after her son received it as a gift when he was about 4. But over several years of use, the Cyclone —which you pedal with your arms, like you would a racing wheelchair—became one of her kids’ favorite outdoor toys, and it held up well to miles of rough rolling. Her son would speed it down the sidewalks to a local park, to the surprise and delight of neighborhood kids. That novelty is part of what makes it an excellent gift: Most children are unlikely to have one—and would really like one.
Close encounter
Jarkyfine Window Bird Feeder
Strong suction cups and a roomy acrylic structure readily accommodate multiple avian visitors. It’s not squirrel-proof, and it can get messy, but it’s easy to clean.
Should your gift recipient have a suitable spot for it, there’s something kind of magical about this clear bird feeder that, with strong suction cups, mounts to the outside of a window and gives onlookers a close-up view of any hungry bird that stops by for a snack. It provides hours of entertainment for kids, cats, and avid birders. Add a bag of birdseed, and you have an inexpensive gift that nearly anyone—including the avian beneficiaries—will enjoy.
Quirky crusher
Ototo Gracula Garlic Crusher
This cloaked crusher deftly minces multiple cloves but also pulverizes seed, nuts, and spices.
You save $10 (40%)
If your gift recipient loves whimsical kitchen gadgets, celebrates Halloween year-round, or wants to lure kids into the kitchen, this Dracula-inspired garlic crusher makes the perfect gift. Using the Gracula Garlic Crusher is easy: Just plop a few cloves into the base (his cape), pop on the top (his head), and twist at the neck for easy mincing. But make sure to remove that chopped garlic quickly—vampires can’t tolerate it for long.
Dansk Købenstyle Butter Warmer
Don’t be fooled: This cute enameled vessel with its chubby wooden handle isn’t just for butter. It also works as a small stovetop pot, a bowl for soup or hot cocoa, or a ladle or scoop.
The vaguely vintage, Scandinavian-style Dansk Købenstyle Butter Warmer holds 16 ounces, so it’s ideal for small tasks such as reheating a bowl of soup or making a cup of cocoa. But unlike more-utilitarian pots, it also looks attractive on the table holding hollandaise at brunch. The chubby wooden handle is handsome and easy to grab for ladling, too. It’s the kind of gift that, once received, continues to reveal new ways to be used.
Do-it-all driver
Megapro 13-in-1 Ratcheting Driver 211R2C36RD
This manual screwdriver combines smooth ratcheting action with excellent bit storage and a uniquely comfortable handle to make it the most well-rounded, capable tool of its kind.
We’ve been testing screwdrivers for nine years now, but none of them have worked as solidly as the Megapro 13-in-1 Ratcheting Driver . If your gift recipient spends a lot of time tinkering with various repairs around the house, a great screwdriver is essential. Although most screwdrivers are fine, the Megapro screwdriver will help your giftee work faster and expend less effort. Plus, as its name suggests, it comes with a comprehensive bit selection (six double-headed driver bits, totaling 12 bits, and the 0.25-inch hex end of the stem) that’s conveniently nestled inside the handle and therefore much harder to lose.
Perfect pour-over
Tsuki Usagi Jirushi Slim Pot
This elegant enamel stovetop kettle from Japan provides excellent pour control.
Wirecutter staffers swear by this little stovetop kettle from Japanese enamelware maker Tsuki Usagi for several reasons. For one, this pot’s pour spout provides excellent control. And because of its slender profile, the Jirushi Slim Pot sits tidily on any shelf—and looks beautiful. Some people even water plants with it.
Potato friend
Smoko Potato Light
This chubby pint-size potato is adorable and rechargeable.
When you pat this little potato on its round head or chubby tummy and watch it light up, you can’t help but smile. The darling spud emits a soft glow in one of three brightness levels and operates via a USB-rechargeable battery. Offering just the right blend of whimsy and usability, it will surely be the most coveted gift at your white elephant exchange.
Everlasting blooms
Lego Flower Bouquet 10280
You can build and style a bold bouquet with 15 individual stems in your own vase.
For something more interactive and longer-lasting than a typical bunch of flowers, consider a Lego bouquet . Present the intricate, 756-piece set fully assembled, or give your special someone the pleasure of bringing 15 stems of plastic roses, daisies, and asters to life. Once built, the bouquet stands 14 inches tall, just like a regular posy. And though it doesn’t require any water or sun, regular dusting would be welcome.
Almost famous
Hire a celebrity or sorta-celebrity from the worlds of music, film, TV, comedy, sports, or business to record a personalized video message.
If your loved ones could use a pick-me-up or even just laugh, send them a video message from a favorite celeb or celeb-adjacent. Use Cameo’s platform to hire their favorite B- or C-level star (remember the guy who played Flavio on the Sopranos ?) to record them a greeting for around $50 to $100. Or you could splurge on heartfelt words from country singer LeAnn Rimes ($333) or cheery well-wishes from Lance Bass ($299). Many Wirecutter staffers have received Cameos ranging from meaningful to absurd. They’re always a hit.

The 50 Best Gifts for Women Who Love to Travel
Shop the best wanderlust-approved gifts, from tech gadgets to compact toiletries to comfy clothes for travel days.
Travel + Leisure / Alli Waataja
Gifting can be hard — especially when you really want to get it right. Whether the woman you have in mind is already a frequent flier or just beginning her journey, the options are endless.
Some presents can be used while prepping for a trip and others are perfect for long travel days, but we've rounded up products to fuel every type of wanderlust. Our list has the best picks for documenting adventures and filling any downtime, along with ideas for everyone from fashion lovers to the ultimate light packers. Not only did we search high and low to find thoughtful, foolproof gifts for women who love to travel, we rounded up some of the favorite items we tested — and love — ourselves, too.
Raen Keera Sunglasses
One must-have item no woman should ever travel without is a good pair of sunglasses . We tested over 20 pairs of popular, highly-rated women's shades and the Keera Sunglasses stood out in all areas, including quality, appearance, fit, performance, and overall value. They held up very well through six months of daily use. The subtle cat-eye shape is undoubtedly stylish but not over the top, so you can wear them with any outfit. Plus, they're extremely comfortable — no nose-pinching or ear-tugging. The slim, protective case is also ideal for traveling, as it fits in any purse or bag.
Outdoor Research Aspire Super Stretch Jacket
After lab-testing nearly two dozen rain jackets and using them for six months in real-life settings, this Aspire Super Stretch Jacket was an overall winner . The notably lightweight raincoat passed our waterproof test with flying colors, absorbing no moisture and keeping us totally dry. It's also breathable to prevent overheating when you're on the move. What's more, the Aspire Jacket folds or rolls up compactly, making it easy to fit in a bag or suitcase.
Reef Water Vista Sandals
Whether you're surfside or poolside, comfortable beach sandals are essential. The T+L team tested over 60 pairs to find the best ones. Though we liked several of them, the Reef Water Vista came out on top. With bouncy yet supportive footbeds, these ultra-comfy, warm-weather shoes feel like walking on clouds. And the adjustable ankle straps help them stay securely on your feet without flopping around. Just the thing for the beach or pool, Water Vistas are also fully waterproof.
Coyuchi Mediterranean Organic Towel
After testing many Turkish towels poolside and on the sand, Coyuchi's Mediterranean Organic Towel stood out from the rest. The long-staple cotton fibers and textural weave make it extra-absorbent and fast-drying, not to mention soft and cozy. You can wrap the slightly oversized design around you like a blanketit’s but, thanks to the flat weave, this towel also rolls up tightly for easy packing .
Beis The Cosmetics Case
Keep your beauty products organized when you're away from home in a travel makeup case . We put over two dozen portable makeup carriers to the test and loved this one from Béis the most. It's compact yet spacious, with various pockets, slots, and pouches inside for organizing your cosmetics. The hard sides ensure products don't get crushed when you pack it in a suitcase or weekender bag. There's also a handy mirror that comes out and sits upright on a flat surface for on-the-go application and touch-ups.
Samsonite Freeform Carry-on Spinner
Every frequent-flyer or minimalist traveler can appreciate well-designed carry-on luggage . We tested upwards of 150 carry-ons, and the Samsonite Freeform is a reigning champ. This smooth-gliding spinner maneuvers effortlessly on two or four wheels. It's compact yet spacious, easily fitting enough clothes for a four-day trip, and you can use the expander to add a couple of inches to the depth. We also appreciate all the organizational features and the sleek appearance.
Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler
The Stanley Quencher isn't simply popular — it's a viral sensation . This travel mug not only keeps drinks cold or hot for several hours, but it's remarkably durable with a sturdy base narrow enough to fit in any car's cup holder. The large size makes it easy to hit your daily hydration goals, while the rotating leakproof lid allows you to sip multiple ways. If your giftee doesn't already have one, she'll quickly become a convert.
Beats Fit Pro Noise Canceling Earbuds
Beats Fit Pro Earbuds are an excellent gift for travel lovers. These wireless Bluetooth headphones boast true noise-canceling technology, blocking all external sounds and delivering crisp, balanced audio. They come in several chic colors, including three neutral hues from Kim Kardashian's collaboration with the brand. Plus, the flexible wingtips help them fit comfortably and securely in smaller ears.
Cozy Earth The Plush Modern Crew Sock
Cozy Earth makes some of the softest, most luxurious bedding and loungewear on the market. The brand's taller socks made it on Oprah's Favorite Things in 2021. They're great for cuddling up at home, but if you ask us, this set is a better option for travel and year-round use. These socks are made of the same stretchy ribbed material but with a slightly sportier and more versatile crew length.
Leatherology Tech Organizer Bag
This tech organizer from Leatherology is a thoughtful gift for women who travel for work and anyone who likes to stay organized on the road. Available in three sizes, the zippered case has a mesh storage pocket and elastic loops for keeping cords, earbuds, adapters, power banks, and other small gadgets secure. You might also appreciate that it comes in a wrappable box so it’s instantly ready to gift.
ShiftCam SnapGrip Creator Kit
If your special someone is a photographer, videographer, or travel blogger, she'll get lots of use out of the SnapGrip Creator Kit. The bundle includes the SnapGrip, a magnetic battery grip with a wireless shutter button that makes a smartphone feel like a traditional camera. It also comes with the SnapLight LED ring light and the SnapPod, a tripod with a selfie stick handle. This set can be used with all mobile devices, including iPhones, Androids, and tablets.
Polaroid Hi-Print Pocket Phone Printer
The Polaroid Hi-print is a stellar gift for wanderlusts and amateur photographers. This mini printer is small enough to fit in a purse, sling bag, or back pocket. It connects to smartphones via Bluetooth and prints 2x3 color photos with peelable adhesive backings. For extra thoughtfulness points, consider getting a paper cartridge and the matching case as well.
Away The Insider Packing Cubes
Packing cubes are useful for overpackers and light packers alike. They're designed to compress your clothes to cut down on space while helping travelers keep everything organized in categories. This set from Away is made of water-resistant nylon with breathable mesh panels to prevent musty smells and make it easy to find all your stuff.
Nimble Champ Portable Charger
At 3 inches long and barely more than 2 inches wide, this portable charger is smaller than a deck of cards. But, despite the tiny size, it can do big things. The Nimble Champ can bring a smartphone battery from zero to 80 percent in just a half-hour. It can also charge two devices at once, which, as frequent travelers know, can be crucial when you're away from home.
Babbel Premium Gifts
Learning a new language isn't always easy (or convenient) for adults, but it can make traveling to other countries a much more enriching experience. The Babbel app is a subscription-based system that helps people learn new languages from their smartphones. Multiple packages are available for gifting, like the Premium pass, which offers access to all 14 available languages.
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite
If she loves to read, you can't go wrong with the Kindle Paperwhite. This compact, lightweight eReader has a glare-free screen that looks like real paper pages, even in the brightest sunlight. The waterproof design can also withstand a quick immersion in water, so accidentally dropping it in the bath or pool shouldn't be an issue.
Electrolux Compact Travel Steamer
An iron isn't always accessible when traveling, plus steaming is gentler on delicate garments. In any case, Electrolux Compact Steamer is the solution to wrinkled clothes when you're on the road. Just 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide, it takes up minimal space in a suitcase. This baby steamer works quickly to smooth creases and eliminate puckers from fabrics, and the long power cord provides flexibility when outlets are scarce.
Via Carota Espresso Martini
Via Carota is an Italian trattoria in Manhattan's West Village known for its apéritifs. Whether your giftee is familiar with the restaurant or has never been to NYC, this premixed espresso martini is sure to delight. The blend contains distilled vodka and real brewed espresso — just add a martini glass and serve cold.
Birdie Personal Safety Alarm
The Birdie is a pocket-sized personal alarm made with women's safety in mind. When activated, it emits a super loud siren and a flashing strobe light to deter attackers and alert others of the danger. The user-friendly design is easy to activate and turn off, and it can run the siren for 40 minutes before needing new batteries.
Madewell Leather Carabiner Mini Pouch
This mini pouch from Madewell might not look like much, but it can really come in handy on the road. The zippered enclosure is a perfect size for stashing an ID, credit cards, a hotel key, or cash, while the carabiner can clip to a crossbody bag or belt loop.
Philips One by Sonicare Rechargeable Toothbrush
This electric toothbrush is no bigger than a manual toothbrush, so you don't have to sacrifice oral care for suitcase space. It runs on a rechargeable battery, which charges with a USB cable, and lasts at least a month before needing to be recharged. Getting a set of matching replacement heads is a pro move for this gift.
Apple AirTag
If your loved one's luggage gets lost or stuck at another airport, she'll be glad to have the Apple AirTag. This teeny travel gadget is no bigger than a quarter and can be attached to or placed inside any suitcase, purse, or other gear. The location can be monitored and tracked from an iPhone for quicker retrieval and peace of mind.
Therabody Theragun Mini
Relieving stiff muscles on the go is easy with the Theragun Mini. This travel-size massage gun uses percussive pulses to alleviate pain and soreness. Measuring roughly 5 x 5 inches and weighing only a pound, it's smaller and lighter than the first-generation Mini.
Cuyana Travel Jewelry Case
To keep her most precious items secure, there’s no better gift than a compact jewelry case. We tested this one from Cuyana and were thrilled with the spacious design, especially considering how compact it is when closed. It has enough room to fit multiple days' worth of jewelry, plus designated spots to keep everything organized and prevent tangling. We also like the durable, genuine leather exterior and soft, scratch-preventing suede lining.
MZ Wallace Deluxe Tote
There’s nothing better than a trusty tote bag when you’re constantly on the go. We recommend the MZ Wallace Deluxe Tote, a tote we tested and loved for how much stuff fits inside without feeling bulky. It comes in handy for carry-on essentials, with a laptop sleeve and five pockets for organizing things like chargers, lip balm, hand sanitizer, and sunglasses. This lightweight bag is easy to carry, and there's a trolley sleeve on the back for sliding it onto your suitcase handle.
Spanx AirEssentials Tapered Pant
Spanx's AirEssentials line is made with travel in mind . We're particularly fond of these sleek yet endlessly comfy joggers. The cloud-like fabric is lightweight, smooth, and conveniently wrinkle-proof, and the tapered, drapey design is the ideal wear-anywhere style.
The North Face Never Stop Utility Pack
The North Face
Good for travel, commuting, and overnight trips, The North Face Never Stop Utility Pack has lots of useful features that make it a slam dunk of a gift. We're talking ample pockets, two water bottle pouches, a padded laptop sleeve, a key hook, and a trolley sleeve for sliding it onto your luggage handle. We tested 70 backpacks, and this one is our favorite among those with a separate shoe compartment .
Mark & Graham Canvas and Leather Weekender
Mark & Graham
We're big fans of Mark & Graham, and this weekender stands out among the brand's travel products. It's got a spacious main compartment with a wide opening, allowing you to easily see and access everything inside. There are also two zippered pockets for organizing smaller items. When gifting this bag, consider monogramming it with embroidery or laser engraving.
Leatherology Zip Around Travel Wallet
Leatherology makes the best women's travel wallet, if you ask us. We tested this one firsthand and appreciated the zip-around closure — whereas many others just have snaps. Quite a lot fits inside, and there are designated sections for cash, cards, and a passport. There's also an exterior pocket for keeping a printed boarding pass or event ticket easily accessible.
Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm
If you're looking for a small yet slightly extravagant gift, N°1 De Chanel is a supreme choice that'll surprise and impress. This multi-use balm can be used as a tinted lip color or cheek stain — allowing women to pack lighter without sacrificing their beauty routine. The formula is semi-sheer with a hint of pigment, buttery-smooth, and super luxurious.
Caraa Pet Carrier
Caraa
For frequent fliers who are also pet parents, we recommend the Caraa Pet Carrier. This TSA-approved, duffel-style bag fits fur babies up to 18 pounds. It's got a removable, machine-washable sherpa lining and a luggage sleeve that slides over your suitcase handle. Plus, it collapses when you need to stash it away.
Fossil Harwell Small Flap Crossbody
We're also big fans of Fossil's Harwell Bag. The small crossbody design is perfect for travel because it allows women to have the essentials with them while keeping their hands free. It also has two slide pockets for cash, cards, or a phone and magnetic closure for easy opening and closing.
Vionic Willa Flat Mule
Vionic's Willa Mule is an exceptionally versatile shoe that can be dressed up or down and worn most seasons. The brand's shoes are designed by podiatrists, so you can bet they're supportive and comfortable for long hours. What's more, the moisture-wicking uppers help prevent clammy, smelly feet — which is especially crucial when sitting close to strangers on, say, an airplane.
Topicals Faded Under Eye Brightening & Clearing Eye Masks
Jet lag is real. But just because you can feel the effects doesn't mean you have to look sleep-deprived. These under-eye masks feature a cooling gel to soothe and minimize swelling, while caffeine tightens the skin and antioxidants offer a brightening effect.
Hermès Apple Watch Band
A tech-savvy woman who appreciates the finer things in life might like this Hermès Apple Watch band. Modeled after the designer brand's signature checked canvas, the woven nylon features a gold and ecru colorway. Best of all, it comes in a ribboned box, allowing you to gift it as is — no need for wrapping.
Sofia Cashmere Emilia Travel Set
Saks Fifth Avenue
Cashmere tends to be a good choice for gifting because it's luxurious, yet practical and often long-lasting. We suggest this three-piece travel set, which comes with a small throw blanket, an eye mask, and a bag for stashing them in. Each component is woven from pure Mongolian cashmere yarns with a classic cable-knit pattern.
San Diego Hat Company Arizona Packable Wide Brim Hat
Free People
If she's traveling to a sunny locale, you can't go wrong with a packable sun hat. We like this one from Free People. Woven from paper straw with an extra-wide brim, the breathable design offers substantial shade for the entire face, neck, and shoulders. More to the point, it can be rolled up or folded without creasing or becoming misshapen.
Prana Railay Jumpsuit
Prana's Railay Jumpsuit is a one-and-done outfit, making it easy to pack for trips. But that's not the only reason it's great for travel. It's stretchy and wrinkle-resistant, so she won't have to worry about creases from packing. Not only that, but the moisture-wicking fabric has UPF 50+ sun protection, and there's a hidden zippered pocket for keeping essentials close and secure.
Skims Cotton Jersey T-shirt
Everyone's idea of the perfect T-shirt is different, but this one checks many boxes. The classic crewneck cut and short sleeves make for a versatile silhouette that can be worn with infinite outfits. We also like that the fabric is primarily cool, breathable cotton with some spandex woven in for stretch, durability, and wrinkle resistance.
Aiir Travel Size Bundle
This haircare bundle comes with three travel-sized products, all under TSA's 3.4-ounce limit for carry-on liquids. There's a texturizing spray that adds lightweight volume and may allow skipping a wash day, a smoothing cream that can be applied to wet or dry strands, and a flexible-hold hairspray — something for everyone and nearly any hair type.
Canada Goose Puffer Vest
Bloomingdale's
We're willing to bet almost any woman would be delighted to receive this Canada Goose vest as a gift. It's ultra-lightweight yet warm and easily layerable, which is ideal for transitional weather and unpredictable forecasts. Plus, it stuffs into itself for compact packing, and the veteran outerwear brand backs it with a lifetime warranty.
Marshall Willen Portable Bluetooth Speaker
This portable Bluetooth speaker is just the thing for on-the-go jams. Palm-sized, waterproof, and dirt-repellent with stereo sound and 15 hours of playtime, it's great for rental homes, beach outings, barbecues, picnics, and outdoor adventures.
Tumi Voyageur Persia Crossbody
Crossbody bags have always been a travel staple , but they're becoming more popular in mainstream fashion. This one from Tumi was made specifically with air travel, sightseeing, and on-the-go lifestyles in mind. The Persia Crossbody is compact yet incredibly functional, with various sections, pockets, slots, and rings to stow all the essentials. If you're buying it as a gift, consider monogramming the leather charm.
Fenty Skin Travel-size Start'r Set: Dry Skin Edition
Fenty Skin
This travel-size skincare bundle from Fenty Beauty contains four of the brand's greatest hits for enhancing your complexion and combating parched skin that often comes with plane travel and dry climates. You'll get a makeup-melting cleanser, a hydrating toner essence, moisturizing sunscreen, and a body cream sample.
Nefeeko Collapsible Water Bottle
This silicone water bottle can be collapsed to half its size, tossed in any bag, and taken through TSA. Once passed the checkpoint, you can expand it to the full height and fill it with water. It stands upright on any flat surface and promises never to leak with the lid on. No water bottle pocket? No problem. The carabiner can attach to any strap, loop, or hook.
Barefoot Dreams The Cozychic Light Travel Shawl
Barefoot Dreams
This blanket-like shawl will keep you warm and cozy on a flight or train ride. The one-size-fits-most design is the perfect lightweight layer to throw on over an athleisure outfit or while padding around a resort or rental house. It even folds up into one of the jumbo pockets to convert into a travel pillow.
Athleta Pacifica Shores Coverup
A swim cover-up is crucial for beach trips, cruises, island vacations, and other sunny adventures. Crafted from a UPF 40+ textile with long sleeves and a hood, Athleta's Pacifica Shores dress offers coverage from head to mid-thigh. The performance fabric also wicks away sweat to keep you cool and dry in hot, humid climates.
Everlane The Day Glove Flats
These flats from Everlane stand out for their simplicity. The pared-down, round-toe design can be worn with everything from jeans, trousers, and shorts to maxi dresses, jumpsuits, and professional ensembles. We also like that the buttery-soft leather molds to the shape of your foot, and the cushioned insoles keep your arches happy for hours on end.
Je Mérite Silk Wrap Robe
Made of 100 percent silk charmeuse, this luxe robe from Je Mérite has an extra-soft, lightweight quality that doesn't feel too thin. The double-breasted wrap design falls just below the knee on most women, and the long bell sleeves add a posh touch. Besides relaxing in a hotel room or doing a self-care routine at home, it can be paired with a strappy heel and worn as a flirty going-out dress.
L’Occitane Hand Cream Classics 3-Piece Set
L'Occitane is a French toiletries brand known for its luxurious formulas often supplied in five-star hotels like The Four Seasons . This gift set includes three ultra-rich hand creams in the most popular scents. The 1-ounce tubes meet TSA requirements for carry-on creams and liquids, and they're the ideal mini size to keep in a purse, backpack, or sling bag.
