The seat unit, the canopy (hood), the bumper bar, the suspension, the handlebar, the carrycot, the car seat, the accessories & extra features, parent reviews of the bébécar ip-op evolution, after one child, it still looks like new; i will not sell it; i am keeping it in the family.

• A lot of bells and whistles
• An awesome seat
• You can choose a different type of bassinet - even if the manufacturer doesn't state it in the promotional materials
• Height adapters for the bassinet and the seat
• High-quality materials and detailed design
• Excellent driveability
• No kicking the chassis while walking
• Rubber wheels option

• The pram is like new after the first child
• The brake is not flip-flop friendly - you'll get your shoes dirty
• Compact folding is not its forte - it's rather bulky
• The canopy clicks loudly as it's adjusted and this can wake up your baby (the noise is softer after some time - it will get better over time)
• The suspension doesn't allow for rocking the baby; it's just to absorb some shocks

A pram with many bells and whistles to show off! I had multiple prams already, so I wanted to try out some less known model - from those mainstream brands, none really stood out for me.

The Bebecar brand I at first put aside and didn't really consider, but when I looked at it the second time, I started to think about it more and went to try it out in the shop. We ended up taking it home then and there 😁. It's not crazy lightweight, nor it's an all-terrain monster. Still, there are many reasons to buy it. It's really high-quality, and you'll notice that immediately, even from far away - and the same goes for details. It's certainly not that type looking like cheap plastic covered with paperlike fabric. The suspension only absorbs some shock (no rocking the baby), and the ride is therefore not as soft, but the push is great anyway - incomparable to prams without suspension. We opted for rubber wheels, and those never got stuck; the ride is smooth and quiet.

Any giver part of the pram can be bought separately - and all the components are compatible between different models (at least at the time we bought it). We wanted the largest bassinet normally meant for the Stylo Class model. It's super spacious and with a backrest that you can lift and adjust... The colours and materials are also optional, and all I say are actually so much prettier than when you look at the picture of them un the catalog...

The frame is made sturdier with the basket upper part that also works for getting it up a curb, into public transport, or up a stair with your foot. But for normal-height curbs, you don't even need that. The push is great, no problem to push it even with only one hand - but there's the folding button in the middle of the handlebar, so that could be a thing to be in your way a bit. Still, I often used only one hand, and it was not hard work to push it. Even cobblestones, rails or gravel were ok to drive on - and there's no bar in the rear part to be kicking. Very harsh terrain, of course, won't be comfortable to push it on - it's not an all-terrain model.

The seat is incredible. It's one of the things you'd get this model for (of course, there are other things, but still...). Even while being reversible, it's still very spacious - even I fit in it (and I am not that tiny ;-) ). The canopy is not immediately over the backrest, so even a larger child has space there, without the canopy pushing into its head. The seat reclines fully, and the sitting position is also fully upright. There are also those nice sides to protect the child. Apart from when the backrest lays flat, the canopy covers the child up to the bumper bar, and with the apron, you can make a protective "bunker" for your child. The highest point of the backrest can be adjusted individually as well, meaning you can make an almost-carrycot for your child from the seat. The bumper bar and the sides are covered with a wipe-clean material, which I appreciated a lot. The leg rest allows the fabric to be put under the base, leaving there only naked plastic for an older child to put dirty shoes on. The whole seat is softly padded and very comfy.

The option of height adapters to make the seat or bassinet higher up is also fantastic. I always put the bassinet higher up to have my baby closer to me and not to have to bend over too much (I am quite tall). We also used it quite a lot with the seat, when my daughter was younger - for her to see us, and or us to easily hand her her toys or wipe her little mouth... This I minded with those low-positioned seats on other models - that the child doesn't see you that well, and/or you have to go around to get to the child. Like this, you also get a better feeling that the child is not in the height of exhaust fumes as much... For when she was older, we put the seat without the adapters so that she could climb into it by herself. With a heavier child, the pushchair is also more stable.

In my opinion, this pram is simply great, and I haven't found a better seat anywhere else. After one child, it still looks like new; I will not sell it; I am keeping it in the family for more children...

Your questions about the Bébécar Ip-Op Evolution

Do you need the Isofix base for the car seat to fit on, please?

Actually, no, you don't. An Isofix base is first and foremost a help for the parent to quicker and easier attach the car seat to the car. If done properly, to attach the car seat with the car seatbelt is absolutely enough. And to fit the car seat on the stroller's frame, you don't need th ebase at all - you normally only need adapters for the stroller's type.

Hi, please how can you remove the canopy hood from the chassis?

As the hood/canopy is shared between the carrycot and the seat, it definitely can be removed from the seat's/bassinet's frame. It should click out rather easily; try pulling on the side pegs or searching for a button near the attachment points.

If you meant if the fabric can be removed from the canopy's frame, that, unfortunately, cannot be done through dismantling the frame, which risks not being able to put it back properly. I suggest reading our cleaning and maintenance guide for strollers HERE to see what else you can do instead of just throwing the textiles in the washing machine, which often damages them.

I have heard that there is a weight limit of 15 kgs for the pushchair part of the travel system. Please can you confirm if this is the case or not?

Hi, Janine,

Well, yes, the seat is up to 15 kg (the bassinet up to 9 kg of the baby), so you heard right - 15 kg is the usual European norm, and actually rightly so (a 3 years old is about 15 kg, normally). If the basket is empty, the frame should be able to withstand a bit more, but for that reversible seat , you won't fit a 15+ kg child anyway, so I wouldn't really take that as a problem. The pram is sturdy enough.

Hi, I hope you can help.

I bought a second hand 2020 Ip Op model as I loved the pram but couldn't afford a new one. It is beautiful and on testing it, it folded easily and the same when I took it home but now I can't open or close it and have followed the videos online. Any idea whether it is me doing something wrong or whether it is faulty? When it opens, it is not opening fully which results in the carrycot being lower at the front than the rear.

Help please as the baby is due in 3 weeks. Thanks

If the folding mechanism doesn't work properly even if you do exactly as they do in the videos while transporting or (un)folding at hone, something definitely had to break in there, inside. There is no easy fix for that, I'm afraid, and such a thing needs servicing, possibly wire changing, and/or even a new frame.

You can of course try lubricating - oiling the moving parts, as there can be some traction blocking it, but it is a very small chance that will solve the problem - but do it just to be sure. Apart from that, you can contact the seller if they had the same problem and/or ask for your money back, OR you can try and browse for the same line model that is pre-owned and in a not-awesome condition and for a few bucks change only the frame. Otherwise, you'll need to change the pram.

On the seat bit, how do you make the straps smaller?

to shorten the harness straps, you need to slide down or detach the padding on the shoulder straps and then tighten the straps by sliding the plastic part down. You can also check this (Maclaren) stroller video just to have a general idea as the system is quite similar.

The Bebecar pushchair seat is lie-flat and suitable from birth and can be parent facing or world facing. The large side panels are totally rigid, offering protection and support to baby’s head and cervical vertebrae. Substantial padding in the seat unit ensures the maximum comfort for baby. The bumper bar can be swung open or completely removed making it easy for you to sit your baby in the seat. The seat unit has a 4 position backrest which can be fully reclined and a two position footrest. Also includes a five-point harness for maximum safety.

The large carrycot comes with a mattress under the liner that can be placed on top for baby to sleep; the carrycot has a four position reclining backrest that allows a new-born to rest in their natural posture. The carrycot base has a rocking position, to soothe baby to sleep. The inner liner is produced in cotton to care for baby’s delicate skin and can be easily removed for washing. The carrycot is also suitable for use on the back seat of a car, using the included safety kit.

• Reclining backrest allows the natural posture of the newborn. This feature helps prevent the risk of suffocation by vomiting and improves breathing should the baby have a cold.
• The carrycot base can be positioned in rocking mode to lull the baby to sleep.

• The generous size of the carrycot provides baby with maximum comfort in the early months. The carrycot can be collapsed when not in use for easy storage.
• The carrycot attaches to the chassis using the Easylock system. There are four support points to give maximum stability and a comfortable ride for your baby. To remove the carrycot from the chassis simply squeeze the button on the bottom of the base.

LA3 Safety Kit

The kit allows you to securely fix your carrycot to the back seat of your car, letting your baby lie flat while your drive - a safer and more comfortable way for them to travel, which supports their growing spine.

The chassis has a rear suspension system, and its ergonomic handle is height-adjustable, making it comfortable to push, and the wheels contain ball bearings - giving a truly smooth ride for you and your baby. The front wheels can be set to swivel or locked straight, and all four wheels can be easily removed. . The chassis features a one-handed folding mechanism and folds to a very compact size.

Easymaxi LF Group 0+ Lie Flat Car Seat

Maximum safety: From the very first journey your baby makes, you will want a peace of mind that he is both safe and comfortable.

The Easymaxi LF has a clever system that allows the seat backrest to be reclined to the lie-flat position. To recline, simply pull the fabric cushion of the seat forwards until it locks in position. To return to the sitting position, pull fabric cushion of the seat forwards and slightly lift then slide it back to its original position.

Designed with additional side protection, the Easymaxi LF infant car seat offers comfort and support, with excellent performance in an impact. It can be fitted directly into the car using the seat belts, or with an isofix base (available separately).

The  Bebecar Ip-Op Charred Midnight Blue Travel System  is a complete travel system. Which includes the Ip-Op chassis, a carrycot, pushchair seat, a Lie Flat car sea, in car safety kit and changing bag.

All three units fit quickly and easily onto the chassis without adaptors, making all your journeys as smooth as possible.

The chassis has a one-handed folding mechanism, and folds to a very compact size. Making the Bebecar Ip-op Grey the perfect pram as it is spacious and large for baby but folds compact for the modern parent.

The Bebecar Carrycot is so luxurious for your baby. Above all Only the best cotton has been selected to line your babies carrycot to ensure is it delicate for babies skin. The Cotton lining is also so easy to remove ensuring that your babies carrycot is kept clean and fresh all the time.

The Bebecar carrycot features multiple vents to ensure baby is always kept cool and has enough ventilation in the summer weather. There is a mesh window at the back of the carrycot which will ensure cool air is circulated through the pram when pushing. There are also vents underneath babies mattress to aid the flow of cool air through the carrycot. These are integrated in to the base of the carrycot and are fully adjustable.

The Easymaxi LF car seat is lightweight and has a handle that can be folded rearward for simple access to your child.

The seat backrest of the Bebecar Easymaxi LF can be reclined to a lie-flat position thanks to an innovative technology. To recline, simply pull the seat’s fabric cushion forward until it locks in place. Pull the seat’s fabric cushion forward and slightly lift it, then slide it back to its original position to return to the sitting position.

The Bebecar pushchair seat is lie-flat and suitable from birth and can be parent facing or world facing. The large side panels are totally rigid, offering protection and support to baby’s head and cervical vertebrae. Substantial padding in the seat unit ensures the maximum comfort for baby. The bumper bar can be swung open or completely removed making it easy for you to sit your baby in the seat. The seat unit has a 4 position backrest which can be fully reclined and a two position footrest. Also includes a five-point harness for maximum safety.

The carrycot base has a rocking position, to soothe baby to sleep. The inner liner is produced in cotton to care for baby’s delicate skin and can be easily removed for washing. The carrycot is also suitable for use on the back seat of a car, using the included safety kit.

Reclining backrest allows the natural posture of the newborn. This feature helps prevent the risk of suffocation by vomiting and improves breathing should the baby have a cold. The carrycot base can be positioned in rocking mode to lull the baby to sleep. Integrated carrying handle on the hood. The safety kit is an invaluable asset for transporting your baby in the car, particularly on long journeys, if they are premature, or for newborns. The kit allows you to securely fix your carrycot to the back seat of your car, letting your baby lie flat while your drive – a safer and more comfortable way for them to travel, which supports their growing spine.

The chassis has a rear suspension system, and its ergonomic handle is height-adjustable, making it comfortable to push, and the wheels contain ball bearings – giving a truly smooth ride for you and your baby. The front wheels can be set to swivel or locked straight, and all four wheels can be easily removed. . The chassis features a one-handed folding mechanism and folds to a very compact size.

The Bebecar Pack Ip-Op Classic XL is a complete travel system, which includes the fantastic Ip-Op Classic XL chassis, a carrycot, reversible pushchair seat, and an Easymaxi Lie Flat infant car seat. All three units fit quickly and easily onto the chassis without adaptors, making all your journeys as smooth as possible. The chassis has a one-handed folding mechanism, and folds to a very compact size.

Suitable from birth, all three pieces fit quickly and easily onto the chassis without adapters, making all your journeys as smooth as possible.

The chassis is compact and its ergonomic handle is height-adjustable, making it comfortable to push, and the wheels contain ball bearings – giving a truly smooth ride for you and your baby. The front wheels can be set to swivel or locked straight, and all four wheels can be easily removed. The chassis features a one-handed folding mechanism and folds to a very compact size.

The spacious carrycot comes with a mattress under the liner that can be placed on top for your little one to sleep. The carrycot has a four position reclining backrest that allows a newborn to rest in their natural posture. The carrycot base has a rocking position, to soothe the baby to sleep, while the cotton inner liner cares for delicate skin and can be easily removed for washing.

The Bebecar pushchair seat is suitable from birth and can be parent facing or world facing. The large side panels are totally rigid, offering protection and support to your babies head and cervical vertebrae. Substantial padding in the seat unit ensures the maximum comfort. The bumper bar can be swung open or completely removed making it easy for you to get the baby in or out. The seat unit has a 4-position backrest which can be fully reclined and a two-position footrest for comfort and also includes a five-point harness for maximum safety.

The   Easymaxi Lie Flat has a clever system that allows the seat backrest to be reclined to the lie-flat position. This is the recommended position from 0-3 months.  The baby can stay in the lie-flat position whilst in the car and on the chassis.

Designed with additional side protection, the Easymaxi Lie Flat infant car seat offers comfort and support, with excellent performance in an impact. It can be fitted directly into the car using the seat belts, or with an additional base.

The LA3 Safety Kit is designed to make it possible for your baby to travel safely in the car while laying flat in the carrycot, especially on long journeys or for premature babies.
