Virtual Car Museums Offer Online Adventures for Automotive Enthusiasts

Take a trip to these virtual car museums from the comfort of your own home.

Jake Starr

Staying home through the Coronavirus pandemic has meant missing out on many things. With car shows, automotive events, group drives, and other gatherings canceled, as a car lover, you may be feeling a bit of an automotive void in your life. Even trips to the local car dealership has been on hold for many of us. So where can you get your car fix, when you finally tire of looking at the old standbys in your garage? We’d recommend taking a dive into the world of virtual car museums.

Virtual Car Museums: Highlighting History & Showcasing Cars In All-New Ways

Unfortunately, with the pandemic, many car museums around the world are closed, but, luckily, enthusiasts have the next best option. Virtual car museums offer the luxury of all the museum’s top-of-the-line displays and can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home.

We looked for museums you could go through virtually, rather than simply scrolling through pictures. We also picked museums with a wide array of displays with many interesting and one-of-a-kind makes and models. So sit back, relax, and start exploring!

Mercedes-Benz Museum

Mercedes-Benz virtual car museum

Mercedes-Benz Virtual Museum

Located in Stuttgart, Germany, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is nine levels of impressive architecture and Mercedes-Benz history. And now you can experience all the luxury of this impressive museum from the comfort of your own home. Start your virtual tour at the historic cars exhibit — be sure to visit both the Legendary Car section and the Collectors Car section. Here, you’ll find the very first model designed by Daimler and Benz in the 19th century.

As you go through the virtual tour, you will learn about all the innovations made by Mercedes-Benz from its beginnings in 1926 to the present day. On your tour, you’ll discover how Mercedes-Benz has excelled in creating emission-free cars such as its C-350 model. And check out all the incredible race cars it has built over the years from their iconic 1930s grand prix cars to their sleek endurance racers built for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. See if you can spot some of the more unique Mercedez-Benz models like the 1893 Benz Vis-a-Vis, the Mercedes-Benz O 10000 bus, and the hydrogen-fuel-cell powered 2010 Mercedes-Benz B-class F-CELL.

This is one of the more jaw-dropping virtual car museums out there. The museum boasts 160 historically significant vehicles, and any car lover will enjoy this immersive experience. The virtual tour is available to you on both your desktop computer and your mobile device. Mercedes-Benz also offers a guided tour if you are not sure where to start.

Honda Collection Hall

Honda Collection Hall virtual car museum

Virtual Honda Collection Hall

Though Motegi, Japan might be a bit far to travel, don’t pass up the wonders of the Honda Collection Hall. Thanks to the museum’s 360-degree virtual tour, you can enjoy the museum from the comfort of your own home. The museum has the largest collection of all of Honda’s best makes and models, with over 300 vehicles on display in this three-story museum

Through the tour, you’ll learn about Honda’s history as you virtually walk through the extensive collection of cars, motorcycles , race cars, and much more. On the second floor, you’ll see a collection of Honda’s best car, motorcycle, and power vehicles including Honda’s rare S500 (Honda’s first sports model from 1963) and their more well-known models like the Prelude, NSX , and Civic. The second floor also focuses on the history of the companies success in the Japanese market.

When you move up to the third floor, you’ll get to explore Honda’s racing side. The two exhibits on this floor showcase Honda’s devotion to high-speed race machines—both two and four-wheel varieties. On the one side, you can explore Honda’s storied history in motorcycle racing. And on the other, peruse the many makes and models of race cars Honda has manufactured over the years including one of their more iconic pieces — one of the McLaren-Hondas driven by Ayrton Senna.

Porsche Museum

Porsche Virtual Car Museum

The Porsche Museum is physically located just up the road from the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. But you don’t have to make the trip to Stuttgart to enjoy some classic Porsche builds as you can access this virtual museum right on Porsche’s website.

The virtual tour covers 5,600 square meters with 80 iconic Porsche models that have helped define the brand’s history. Some of the models on display that you will likely recognize include the original Beetle, 911s, and 917s. And be sure to look for the equally iconic although more rare Porsche Type 64, 356, and 550. For racing fans, the museum also features some of Porsche’s 24 Hours of Le Mans vehicles, part of their racing legacy.

And what better way to end your virtual tour than by popping into the Porsche AR Visualizer. This augmented reality app allows Porsche fans to customize the Porsche of their dreams. Because in virtual reality, there are very few limits.

Henry Ford Museum

Henry Ford virtual car museum

Henry Ford Virtual Car Museum

The Henry Ford Museum is located next to Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, but you can see it all from your computer. This unique tour does more than simply showcase Ford’s best cars. It also shows the history of the automobile through Henry Ford’s eyes. Learn about the trials and tribulations faced by Ford and the successes of other car manufacturers at the time.

From the website, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a plethora of displays. As you scroll down the page, click any displays that catch your eye to view the virtual display. Using Google indoor mapping, the museum brings each display to life in 360-degrees giving you an up-close and personal view. Check out some of Ford’s most iconic models such as the Ford Lincoln Continental, Tucker 48, Concord Coach, Kaiser Traveler, and so much more.

With its mix of classic cars and history, this museum has nearly everything a car lover and car historian desires. Until you can make the trip out to Michigan, you’ll have to settle for the next best thing and view it virtually — which is still a pretty good alternative.

Land Cruiser Heritage Museum

Land Cruiser Heritage Museum

Land Cruiser Heritage Virtual Museum

The world’s largest Land Cruiser museum, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, can be explored on your computer. This virtual tour features one of the biggest collections of Toyota Land Cruisers. The Land Cruiser is one of the best selling models Toyota has ever had.

Once on the virtual tour, you’ll see more than 70 varieties of the Land Cruiser in a large warehouse space. Some of the models on display are the BJ, which was developed for the Japanese armed forces, and a late-model and limited-edition 70-series. One of the main goals of the museum is to acquire and display all of the models of the Land Cruiser ever produced — which would be over 100 models. Some other models you can find are the 1953 Toyota Jeep BJT and a 2020 Heritage Edition 200 Series.

If you are a fan of the Land Cruiser, this virtual museum is perfect for you. You can even explore the first Land Cruiser sold in the United States and the first (and only) Land Cruiser to be on all seven continents!

Visit Miles Collier Collections at Revs Institute in a way that’s never been possible before

BY: KEN GROSS

Located in Naples, Florida, the Miles Collier Collections of more than one hundred fine automobiles, housed at Revs Institute, in its own words, is “a curated assemblage of the most profound and rare automotive resources and innovations of our time, professionally preserved and authentically restored to their original build standards.”

Combining cars from the former Briggs Cunningham collection with those assembled by Miles Collier over several decades, the resulting display is acknowledged as one of the finest car collections in the world.

The collection encompasses a world-class array of competition Porsches, which share space with examples of every Cunningham ever built. Sports and racing cars are predominant, with a Mercedes-Benz W154, a Grand Prix Delage, a Mercer Raceabout, two Ford GT40s, a Ferrari 250LM, and a Corvette Grand Sport, to name just a few, along with a Duesenberg J, a Figoni-bodied Delahaye 135M, an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900, a Chrysler Airflow, a Bugatti Type 55 — and so much more.

virtual tour car museum

There’s also a world-renowned library and historic photograph collection.

After being closed to the public since last March due to Covid-19, Revs Institute reopened on February 25th with limited visitation. Tickets are available via the website, which allow visitors to tour the museum in small groups of thirty people

But if you can’t get to the museum itself, there’s a new, very exciting and involving way to participate.

Revs Institute has painstakingly developed a state-of-the-art mobile app that allows visitors to see the museum and all its cars virtually – down to the smallest interior details. The new Revs app is available now online for free at the App Store or Google Play.

Immerse yourself into an automobile collection like no other with Revs new iOS and Android app.

download in the apple app store

Carl Grant, who joined Revs Institute last July says, “It’s been my mission to bring awareness of the museum and Revs Institute to a global audience. Covid accelerated this development. Even if you lived locally, because we were closed, we still wanted people to engage with the collection and benefit from all the things you can do here, on a virtual level.”

Revs Institute’s app is designed for Android devices as well as iOS devices (iPad and iPhone). Some content is shared between the website and the app. There’s a detailed guide to every car that’s on display. You can inspect the cars themselves and you can highlight features: there are technical specifications and videos of the vehicles being started and driving on the road. From the comfort of their home or office, visitors can experience a 3D immersive tour through each gallery, as well as the museum’s workshop. They can even experience a remarkable 360-degree view from the driver’s seat of each car. The app can be enhanced in virtual reality using Oculus Quest (recommended), Oculus Go, and other modern headsets that include controllers.

And here’s the kicker – there’s a built-in urban sociology course (password protected) that’s not on the website. What it represents will be of interest to many. Eckerd College educators are using the new app to build “course packs.” These intuitive elements are part of an existing course – SO220 — that ties together the automobiles and their contributions to society, art, culture, engineering, and physics.

Carl Grant, Revs Institute’s managing director, says, “One professor has loaded digitized comments about the role of the vehicle in urban society. In effect, it’s a miniature college course. After students have experienced this virtually, they can revert to a Zoom class for discussion. Working with these schools is very exciting and it puts real substance behind Miles’ vision of people better understanding the importance of the automobile. Just go through the app and you’ll learn why each vehicle is here in the collection, and what makes it a milestone car that’s unique and important.”

virtual tour car museum

Additional segments, to be developed with a college physics professor, will help viewers understand what goes on in an engine when it’s running. This will be enhanced using some of the museum’s cutaway engines. For the future, they plan to build a sequence of courses – all involving the cars in the collection. The result represents a whole new dimension for these kinds of museums. “Science, technology, and culture are things that younger people engage with,” says Grant. “They’re interested in cars, and this app demonstrates how that interest can be rewarded and educational at the same time. And you don’t have to go to the museum to experience this.”

Grant says, “Miles Collier has always talked about how the automobile has affected our world in so many significant ways. We’re starting to work with professors who are open to that idea, and who are allowing us, in this case, to build a segment of an urban sociology course on how cities grew and expanded. One session involves a tour through the museum, identifying cars that directly relate to that subject, like the Ford Model T and Model A.”

“Available on the app for the course,” Grant continues, “is a virtual tour with many digitized holdings, like actual sales brochures, repair manuals, historic films, vintage photographs, even pictures of the dashboard with each of the controls labeled, so people today can learn exactly how the car operated. Other materials, specifically linked to each car, will help students understand how that car played a significant role in society at that time.”

virtual tour car museum

Using the new app, you can tour each gallery from the floor level or study the cars using a “dollhouse” view from overhead, then zoom down to focus in on a particular vehicle. Videos of that car in action let you see the starting ritual, hear the sound of the engine, and see the car driving on the road. It really brings everything in the museum to life. Links with the museum’s library take you to photography on each car, most of which can be ordered for purchase.

Grant says, “This is a real game changer for automotive museums. It’s an example for museums around the world. You don’t have to close or go out of business. This is a way to continue to engage visitors and to increase engagement. With the app, you can visit, and learn, over and over.”

Where do they go from here?

“We’re going to keep refining this,” says Grant. “There are buried hooks in the software that will continue to be enhanced. Right now, it’s the minimum viable product. But there’s much more planned.”

Car Museum’s Virtual Tour Lets You ‘Sit’ in Prewar Marvels

Ken Austin’s collection is likely the closest most of us will get to driving prewar classic cars.

Ken and Joan Austin

NicoDeMattia

Every classic car collection and museum needs a virtual tour option like Ken and Joan Austin's Rod Shop in Newberg, Oregon. Not only can you virtually walk through the collection and check out some of the rare vintage metal, but you can actually "sit" inside most of the cars and check them out as if you were actually behind the wheel. For many of us, it's the closest we're going to get to driving perfectly restored icons like a 1937 Ford Roadster and 1928 Chevy Coupe, or an incredibly rare 1931 American Austin.

The Rod Shop is home to mostly prewar American cars, many of which are hot rods . That's because prior to becoming a successful businessman, Ken Austin built and repaired them. Austin unfortunately passed away in 2019 at the age of 87, but his automotive passion persists in his collection, which ranges from concourse-ready, ultra-rare classics to custom-built hot rods.

The aforementioned American Austin is an example of the former, as the American Austin Car Company isn't exactly the most well-known of classic American marques, having only existed from 1929 to 1935. Meanwhile, the collection's 1927 Ford Model T Street Rod is a good example of a mean-looking custom, with its exposed engine and all-business interior.

1931 American Austin | Ken and Joan Austin

Old-school American cars aren't the only cars in his collection, though. There are a few Brits—such as the 1948 MG TC and a 1969 Jaguar E-Type —an old race car, and even a 1929 GMC firetruck.

Most of the cars in Austin's collection have viewable interiors. If you "sit" in the cars, you can pan the camera around and zoom into details. While such technology isn't anything new, it's typically employed by online car configurators. It's rarely used to let you check out the cabins of incredibly rare classics that most of us wouldn't otherwise be able to see. After taking a virtual tour of Austin's collection, I think every car museum and famous car collection should have a feature like this, to allow us plebeian car enthusiasts to check out some of the world's most special machines from a seldom-experienced vantage point.

1948 MG TC | Ken and Joan Austin

Interestingly, part of Austin's car museum is for dentistry, since Austin was the founder of A-Dec, a manufacturer of dental chairs and equipment. If your interests happen to lie within the Venn diagram of classic cars and oral hygiene, then, this museum is especially for you. I'll admit that the vintage dentist office display is a little alarming; I apparently unlocked a new fear of dentistry practice dummy heads today.

Unsettling antique training mannequins aside, Austin's collection is a good one and the virtual tour makes it even better. Now I want to see a virtual tour of Jay Leno 's car collection so I can do my worst impression while I pretend to sit in his McLaren F1 .

virtual tour car museum

While there's nothing like setting foot inside an iconic museum and laying eyes on a world-famous sculpture created by a renowned artist centuries ago, it's not always possible to hop on a plane to New York City , Paris , or Florence to tour the gallery halls in person.

But there is a way to get a little culture and education while you're at home, gaining inspiration and intel for future trips as well. Google Arts & Culture has teamed up with more than 1,200 museums and galleries around the world to bring anyone and everyone virtual tours and online exhibits of some of the most famous museums around the world.

You get to "go to the museum" and never have to leave your couch.

Uffizi Gallery, Florence

This less well-known gallery houses the art collection of one of Florence's most famous families, the de' Medicis. The building was designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1560 specifically for Cosimo I de' Medici, but anyone can wander its halls from anywhere in the world .

MASP, São Paulo

The Museu de Arte de São Paulo is a nonprofit and Brazil's first modern museum. Artworks placed on clear, raised frames make it seem like they're hovering in midair. Take a virtual tour to experience the wondrous display for yourself.

National Museum of Anthropology, Mexico City

Built in 1964, this museum is dedicated to the archaeology and history of Mexico's pre-Hispanic heritage. There are 22 exhibit rooms filled with ancient artifacts, including some from the Maya civilization.

Not all popular art museums and galleries are included in Google Arts & Culture's collection, but some have taken it upon themselves to offer online visits. For example, the Louvre offers virtual tours on its website .

To see more of Google Arts & Culture's collection of museums, visit its website . There are thousands of museum Street Views on Google as well. Google Arts & Culture also has an online experience for exploring famous historic and cultural heritage sites .

A Virtual Tour of Priamukhino, the Bakunin Family Estate and Museum

virtual tour car museum

To observe the 210th birthday of the Russian anarchist Mikhail Bakunin, we present a photoessay and virtual tour of his birthplace and family home, Priamukhino, including the museum documenting his life and the lives of his relatives and friends. Owing to the unfortunate conditions prevailing in Russia today, it is not easy for many of us—including many Russians—to visit. This is a misfortune, because Priamukhino has served as a gathering place for anarchists since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

virtual tour car museum

An old photograph of the Bakunin family house.

Mikhail Bakunin’s revolutionary ideas did not spring forth fully-formed like Athena from the skull of Zeus. They emerged from an environment of participatory dialogue and collective education. His sisters were among his earliest and most passionate interlocutors; later, Russian writers including Vissarion Belinsky, Ivan Turgenev, and Leo Tolstoy spent time at Priamukhino with his siblings. This makes it an important focus of study for researchers in a variety of historical, philosophical, and literary fields. We hope that this photoessay will be of use to those who cannot themselves visit—and that the political situation in Russia will change soon.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, anarchists began gathering at Priamukhino—some to participate in the Priamukhino Free Artel, 1 tending to the land and buildings, others for annual conferences . Some came from as far away as Italy , the United States, and Brazil .

For those who wish to learn the history of the Bakunin family, John Randolph’s The House in the Garden: The Bakunin Family and the Romance of Russian Idealism offers a good starting place. To provide more context for this photoessay, we present a short preface by the photographer.

Weekend at Priamukhino

Finally, I got to see the legendary Priamukhino!

I have been hearing about the “Priamukhino readings” for many years since I became an anarchist. Anarchists have been coming here since the moment that the Soviet Union loosened its grip on political dissent. People used to come to Priamukhino for a few days every year to live collectively, working together to renovate what remains of the Bakunin family mansion and forest, and also to read and discuss anarchist texts outside the distractions of urban life. The Priamukhino readings had been interconnected with the artel work since the 1990s, but they ceased in 2018 due to differences within the Priamukhino Free Artel.

The work of the artel continues, however. The forest around the village beside the Bakunin family mansion needs regular maintenance, and the mansion itself needs renovating.

No active anarchists live in Priamukhino itself, but at least one used to live close by. In addition, there are people in Priamukhino who sympathize with anarchists; since the 1990s, they have undertaken a tremendous effort to preserve the village’s historical heritage and affirm the anarchists’ agenda. Relations with the other villagers are generally good, as well. The only strained relation in the village is with the priest, who openly denounces anarchists. Many villagers prefer to attend church services elsewhere.

What I found in Priamukhino this year was quite different from what I expected. Likely owing to the situation in Russia, only a few people came to join artel work, none of whom I knew from before. Nonetheless, I received a very warm welcome.

We spent the next two days cutting fallen trees, carrying wood, washing monuments, taking out trash, and digging out hogweed, which was invading the whole forest. We also cut the grass to clear paths in the forest around the mansion and the Decembrists’ Oak—an oak that two Decembrists, the brothers Muravyov, planted there in 1816, which was destroyed by lightning in the 1970s. Another oak has been planted there in its place, and nearby, there is another small oak tree planted by anarchists. We worked up to four hours each day and spent the rest cooking food, talking, watching movies (among them, W. Allen’s Love and Death ), swimming in Osuga river, and taking walks around Priamukhino’s beautiful scenery of forests, village roads, and river banks. We also took a trip to Kuvshinovo, a nearby town named after the capitalist Julia Kuvshinova, to see its architectural features.

It was interesting to walk the little roads and paths through the forest, to touch the mighty old trees that witnessed the childhoods of all eleven of the Bakunin siblings in the 19th century, to imagine young Mikhail walking here as well, conversing with his sisters and friends. It makes one reflect on how environments and circumstances can influence our lives. Who would imagine that the son of a family that lived in a mansion maintained by more than a hundred serfs could become a world-famous revolutionary, hated and feared by those who own mansions? The mosaic of life’s circumstances can give rise to the most surprising results.

I am honored to visit a place that holds a part of this legacy, where so much love and work has been put into it, connecting anarchist history to one more place on Earth.

virtual tour car museum

A map of Priamukhino in a booklet about the estate.

We attended the Bakunin family museum located on the edge of Priamukhino. The museum is run by a kind old woman who gave us a tour. It documents the history of the family, focusing on each Bakunin starting with Mikhail Bakunin’s father. A significant part of the museum is given over to Mikhail Bakunin himself, exploring his involvement in revolutionary history.

I also encountered some publications about Bakunin that I hadn’t seen before: N. Pirumova’s Bakunin, published in 1970; M.P. Dragomanova’s Critical-Biographical Note on Bakunin, published in 1906, a copy of which was given to the museum by a descendant of the Bakunins; Memories of Bakunin by M.P. Sazhin (Arman Ross), published in 1926 by the publishing house of the All-Union Society of Political Convicts and Exiles, section Library of Exile and Hard Labor. I took the opportunity of being alone in the museum to take some of them out from under the glass and take pictures of them.

I also looked through the samizdat publications of “Priamukhino Harmony,” a zine that anarchists have been producing during the Priamukhino Free Artel and Priamukhino readings. Apparently, in all the years since it first began to appear in the 1990s, this paper has not been photocopied or digitalized, and the only originals were kept in the village. That worries me, because at any time something could happen to them and they would be lost to anarchist history. I hurriedly photographed all of them.

In addition, I recorded a sort of virtual tour of the museum.

A video walkthrough of the museum at Priamukhino. The music is Alessio Lega’s “ La tomba di Bakunin .”

The Frogs of Priamukhino

virtual tour car museum

I took this picture of a frog near the Bakunin family house. The frogs at Priamukhino have been part of the legend of the place since at least 1995, when anarchists renovated the ponds that they inhabit. Subsequently, in place of a red star, anarchists put a red frog on a black banner, which has become a symbol of the anarchist project in Priamukhino.

Kutuzov Hill

The former Beautiful Hill, now Kutuzov Hill, is named after the Russian military leader who defeated Napoleon at the beginning of the 19th century. The legend goes that Aleksandr Bakunin, Mikhail Bakunin’s father, was friends with Mikhail Kutuzov and the latter stopped at Priamukhino for a day. There is no official evidence confirming this besides the fact that Kutuzov’s regiment once stayed very close to Priamukhino for a day or two for no apparent reason. Aleksandr Bakunin renamed the hill after the defeat of Napoleon.

What remains of the stone is still on the hill, as you can see.

“Manor house (second half of the 18th century to first half of the 19th century). The Pryamukhino estate was purchased in 1779 from the Shishkov nobles by Mikhail Vasilyevich Bakunin (1730-1803) in the name of his wife Lyubov Petrovna. The middle wooden part of the house has been preserved from the previous owners. The Bakunins’ son, Aleksandr Mikhailovich (1765/68-1854), made extensions on both sides and built a two-story outbuilding on the south, in one of the rooms where there was a chapel. On the north side, the outbuilding was one story, and the outbuildings, connected to the main house by brick one-story passages, were decorated with four-column Doric porticoes. There was a ground clearing in front of the house in the park.”

This memorial plaque reads “In this house, Mikhail A. Bakunin was born and spent his childhood and teenage years—a famous militant of the international revolutionary movement, one of the founders of and a theorist of anarchism, a Russian thinker. 1814-1876,” then lists some of the many historical figures who visited the estate.

“Bell tower built by Alexander Alexandrovich Bakunin (1821-1908, a famous Tver zemstvo participant and lawyer, and a participant in the defense of Sevastopol during the Crimean War and the famous ‘Expedition of the Thousand’ with Giuseppe Garibaldi in 1861. Built according to the design of the Tver provincial architect V.I. Nazarin in 1903-1907. In place of the old wooden one, the bell tower became the last building built on the estate by the Bakunins. In 1996, a descendant of the Bakunins installed new bells in the bell tower.” Coincidentally, the underground paper that Mikhail Bakunin’s comrades Alexander Herzen and Nikolai Ogarev published was called Kolokol, “the Bell.”

Cascade of Ponds

This cascade of ponds was made in the 19th century. By the 1990s, it was in a horrible state, until anarchists renovated it.

Moscow city 360-degree virtual reality tour.

Take the virtual tour of the kremlin, moscow river, saint basil’s cathedral and red square.

The Moscow Kremlin usually referred to as the Kremlin, is a fortified complex at the heart of Moscow, overlooking the Moskva River to the south, Saint Basil’s Cathedral and Red Square to the east, and the Alexander Garden to the west.

It is the best known of the Kremlins (Russian citadels) and includes five palaces, four cathedrals, and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers. Also within this complex is the Grand Kremlin Palace. The complex serves as the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation.

The name “Kremlin” means “fortress inside a city”, and is often also used metonymically to refer to the government of the Russian Federation in a similar sense to how “White House” is used to refer to the Executive Office of the President of the United States. It had previously been used to refer to the government of the Soviet Union (1922–1991) and its highest members (such as general secretaries, premiers, presidents, ministers, and commissars). The term “Kremlinology” refers to the study of Soviet and Russian politics.

All of Moscow’s main streets start at Red Square , so it’s easy to see why this is considered the heart of the city. A massive space of 330 meters by 70 meters, the square is flanked by the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum, two cathedrals, and the State Historical Museum. In 1945, a massive Victory Parade was held here to celebrate the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Armed Forces.

St. Basil’s Cathedral , one of the most recognizable buildings on the square, was built in 1555. The unique cathedral has architectural details inspired by Byzantine and Asian designs, as well as details that resemble those found in famous mosques. There are nine individual chapels inside the church, all decorated with colourful mural art.
