The third round of the PGA’s Tour Championship, the final event of the four-tournament FedEx Cup Playoffs, will take place Saturday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

You can watch the action on The Golf Channel from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and then NBC from 2:30 to 7 o’clock, where you can live stream on fubo TV (FREE trial), Sling TV (discount) and DirecTV Streak (FREE trial and discount).

The weather looks favorable, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 90 forecast.

Scottie Scheffler put on a clinic from tee to green at East Lake on Friday for a 5-under 66, and will enter the third round with a four-shot lead over Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffel e.

Morikawa finished the second round with nine birdies, two on the final two holes after a 93-minute storm delay, for an 8-under 63. Schauffele finished with a pair of 12-foot putts — one for par, one for birdie, both feeling just as important as the other — for a 64.

At stake for Scheffler is a chance to win the FedEx Cup and its $25 million prize, which he failed to do as the top seed each of the past two years.

But, per The Associated Press, he looks more comfortable on an East Lake course that has been overhauled — “This is not the same course,” he said when he arrived Monday for his first look — and everyone has a big task chasing him.

Scheffler began the second round with a 7-iron that he thought was going to leave him a 20-foot look at birdie, except that it caught the wrong side of the ridge and rolled off the green, down a severe slope and settled 90 away against a collar of rough.

Collin Morikawa

He holed a 20-foot par putt, a good start that sent him on his way. Even with Morikawa and Schauffele scoring early, Scheffler still led by six shots early on the back nine until he made his first bogey in 29 holes and Morikawa chipped in for birdie, a two-shot swing.

Scheffler is driving it so well — he missed only three fairways — that he didn’t have more than a 7-iron into a par 4 and is setting a tough target for everyone to chase.

Adam Scott (67), Wyndham Clark (67) and Sahith Theegala (66) were nine shots behind. Sam Burns, Scheffler’s best friend on tour, birdied his last two holes for a 68 and lost so much ground he stopped looking at the leaderboard. He was 10 shots behind.

“He’s the best golfer on the planet. He’s really good with leads,” Burns told the AP. “It’s not a great thing for us.”

How to watch the 2024 Tour Championship online from anywhere using a VPN

If you cannot view the tournament locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the tournament. So if your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, nonblackout area. Most VPNs, like our  Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Quick tips for streaming the 2024 Tour Championship using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble getting the tournament after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

Below are a few ways to stream the Tour Championship online if you’ve recently broken up with cable — including an easy way to watch the Tour Championship for free.

When Is The Tour Championship?

The Tour Championship begins on August 29 and runs through September 1. As has been the case since 2004, the event will take place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.

How to Watch the Tour Championship Online Without Cable

The 2024 Tour Championship will air on TV on the Golf Channel and NBC, but cord-cutters can tune in using a live TV streaming service like DirecTV Stream or fuboTV , which are more expensive but include the broadest range of live channels. More budget-friendly options include streaming services ESPN+ and Peacock , which will be carrying the tournament.

Here’s a full breakdown of the best ways to stream the Tour Championship online:

Streaming Services

The Golf Channel is included with a Peacock subscription, making it one of the best ways to catch the Tour Championship. The Premium plan costs $7.99 a month and includes live sports and events. Peacock currently doesn’t offer a free trial.

If you’re primarily interested in sports, ESPN+ offers extensive live sports coverage without having to pay for entertainment and news channels. A subscription to ESPN+ costs $10.99 a month, and golf fans will be able to catch the main feeds each day, as well as coverage of featured groups and featured holes. ESPN+ does not currently offer a free trial.

Multi-Channel Live TV Streaming

Directv stream.

One of the most comprehensive ways to stream sports events is with DirecTV stream, which carries the Golf Channel and NBC. Sling doesn’t currently offer a free trial, but at $20 a month for the first month ($45 after) plus $11 for sports extra, it’s one of the more affordable cable alternative streaming services.

The base plan of YouTube TV costs $72.99 a month, or $52.99 a month for your first 4 months. The base plan includes access to the Golf Channel, as well as NBC (depending on region), giving you access to the action.

FedEx Cup Playoffs Field, Purse

Golfers are guaranteed a significant payday just by making it into the Tour Championship, and they have the opportunity to rake in some serious dough if they place well. The first-place prize is a whopping $25 million, second place is $12.5 million, and third is $7.5 million. All players who finish in the top 12 get at least seven figures, and the golfer who finishes last (30th) gets $550,000.

As with the previous few years, the Tour Championship will give players a starting score depending on how many FedExCup points they’ve accrued during the Playoffs. The two golfers with the most points start the Tour Championship at 10-under par, the No. 2 player starts at 8-under, the No. 3 player starts at 7-under, and so on. 2024 Tour Championship TV schedule, channel, where to watch FedEx Cup Playoffs coverage, live stream

The final event of the 2024 pga tour season takes place this week at a newly restored east lake golf club.

GOLF: AUG 23 PGA - TOUR Championship

For the third straight season, Scottie Scheffler entered the Tour Championship with an inside track to win the FedEx Cup crown. For the first time, he pushed his lead ahead substantially after 18 holes -- though he has since seen it fall back to a competitive margin entering the weekend at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele are hot on Scheffler's tail respectively sitting four and five shots back as Moving Day begins.

With a newly restored East Lake Golf Club and a hungry chasing pack nipping at his heels, the season-long race will not be handed to Scheffler. Schauffele entered the Tour Championship as his nearest pursuer with a wealth of experience around this golf course. Whether that translates onto the newest version of East Lake remains to be seen over the next 36 holes, but the two-time major champion is sure to factor in some shape or form.

St. Jude Championship winner Hideki Matsuyama and BMW Championship winner Keegan Bradley rounded out those closest to Scheffler as the tournament began, though it has been Morikawa -- whose 129 is the lowest-to-par score in the feld through 36 holes -- that has made up the most ground. Sahith Theegala, Wyndham Clark and Adam Scott all stand at T4, though they are nine shots behind Scheffler, which basically makes this a three-horse race in the ATL.

Check out the full slate of Tour Championship tee times in Round 3 , and read up on how East Lake has undergone a significant restoration ahead of this year's FedEx Cup Playoffs finale.

Tour Championship 2023 live stream: how to watch the PGA golf tournament online — final round tee times

Who will secure the FedExCup title and win $18 million?

Dustin Johnson plays his shot from the bunker in the second round of the Tour Championship

  • How to watch
  • Starting strokes

The final round of the Tour Championship takes place today and Viktor Hovland is the firm favorite following a four-under 66 in round three. The Norwegian sits on 20-under, with Xander Schauffele six shots back, one clear of fellow Americans Collin Morikawa and Keegan Bradley at East Lake Golf Club. Find out how to watch all the action below.

The Tour Championship 2023 airs on ESPN+ in the US and on SkyGo in the UK. But don't worry if you're on holiday while it's on because you can watch Tour Championship live streams from anywhere with a VPN .

The Tour Championship live stream finishes today (Aug. 27). • U.K. — Live stream from 5.00 p.m. BST on Sky Go • U.S. —  Live stream 11.30 a.m ET on ESPN+ • Watch anywhere — try ExpressVPN 100% risk free

The 2023 Tour Championship will use FedExCup Starting Strokes to stagger the field from 10 under-par to even-par. The winner will be determined at the end of the week when the final leaderboard is combined with the Starting Strokes. Whoever emerges victorious will be crowned FedExCup champion, earn a bonus $18 million, and receive a five-year PGA Tour exemption.

This year, Scottie Scheffler will be the man to beat as he starts the tournament on 10-under thanks to a remarkable season. The American has earned a record $21 million so far this year on the PGA Tour thanks to securing 16 top-10 finishes, including wins at the Phoenix Open and Players Championship. The easy-going Texan finished second at the recent BMW Championship and will take some stopping in Atlanta.

However, the winner of two of the last four editions of the tournament did not begin the week on 10-under. On both of those occasions it was Rory McIlroy who triumphed and the Northern Irishman may well be in contention come Sunday as he begins the championship on 7-under.

Other contenders in the stacked field include Viktor Hovland (starting on 8-under) who won the BMW Championship by two strokes. It was a remarkable victory for the Norwegian as he fired seven birdies on the back nine to set a new course record of 61. Spain’s Jon Rahm (starting on 6-under) struggled at Olympia Fields but has excelled on the big stage this year, winning the Masters and finishing second at The Open.

U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark and the ever-consistent Matt Fitzpatrick both start on 4-under and could well pose a threat, as could Lucas Glover (starting on 5-under) who has enjoyed a turnaround in form since switching to a longer putter.

With so much on the line there is certain to be some incredible scoring and you won’t want to miss any of the action. To help, here’s a complete guide to how to watch Tour Championship live streams from anywhere.

How to watch PGA Championship 2023: live stream golf free online from anywhere, Round 4 tee times

Can Brooks Koepka take the fight to Jon Rahm again?

Jon Rahm of Spain plays his shot from the 18th tee ahead of the PGA Championship 2023

Watch a 2023 PGA Championship live stream

You can live stream today's final round free in selected countries, and with a free trial of Kayo Sports in Australia. In the US, the 2023 PGA Championship round 4 is televised on CBS and ESPN, with streaming available via Paramount Plus and ESPN Plus. In the UK, you can watch the 2023 PGA Championship live stream on Sky. Full details below.

2023 PGA Championship preview

Brooks Koepka (-6) leads the field by one shot going into the final round of the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill. Koepka is aiming for a third PGA Championship victory and fifth major. Rory McIlroy (-1) is five shots behind Koepka, who tees off at 2.30pm ET / 7.30pm ET today.

The PGA Championship returns to the East Course of Oak Hill Country Club for the first time in a decade, which is only a shade longer than McIlroy's ongoing majors drought. The missed cut at the Masters last month came as a devastating setback for the Northern Irishman, who had looked like he was on the right track again, only for his putting game to fall to pieces at the worst possible moment.

Another player chasing a momentous victory is Jordan Spieth, who only needs the Wanamaker Trophy to complete a career Grand Slam. However, the American has been plagued by a wrist injury of late, and will likely be playing through a fair bit of pain in Rochester.

Scottie Scheffler, meanwhile, will be looking to close the gap to Rahm, and Justin Thomas, who pulled off the joint-biggest comeback in PGA Championship history to win the tournament a year ago, is hoping to complete a hat-trick of triumphs. Will Zalatoris and Tiger Woods, unfortunately, are out of action. Round 4 tees off today at 7.50am ET. Here's how to watch a 2023 PGA Championship live stream from anywhere.

What is the Creator Classic? Inside the PGA Tour’s attempt to bring in YouTube golfers

What is the Creator Classic? Inside the PGA Tour’s attempt to bring in YouTube golfers

YouTube golf is coming to the PGA Tour .

In a first-of-its-kind event, golf influencers will take center stage on the eve of the Tour Championship. Dubbed “space camp” for YouTube golfers, the Creator Classic will kick off at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, marking a significant shift in the PGA Tour’s acceptance of golf internet personalities and recognition of their influence on the game.

Sixteen creators of various ages, backgrounds and specialties will tee it up on the back nine at the newly restored East Lake for a live, televised stroke play competition. The competitors, which include members of the popular YouTube groups Dude Perfect, Good Good and Bob Does Sports, will be playing straight up — no handicaps will be in effect — on the same stage as the top 30 players left standing in the FedEx Cup. (The prerequisite for the chosen creators was simple. They had to be solid, experienced players.) Once the four foursomes reach the ninth hole of the mini-tournament, a playoff between the four lowest-scoring players will decide the champion.

Golf on YouTube has been booming for the better part of the last four years, but the Creator Classic is the first organized effort to involve these personalities with a PGA Tour event in a major way. Several of these influencers have participated in PGA Tour pro-ams or invited PGA Tour players to appear as guests on their own channels, but an event like the Creator Classic — where the PGA Tour formally adopts the YouTube audience — has never been done before. So why are they doing this now, and what can we expect?

How did the Creator Classic come together?

Chad Mumm, the executive producer of Netflix’s “Full Swing”, sat down with PGA Tour executives at March’s Players Championship to plan out his first move. Mumm had just launched his new media venture, Pro Shop, and had officially secured a partnership with the PGA Tour and the PGA of America. There were seemingly endless directions to turn, but how could his new company make the biggest splash?

One month earlier at the WM Phoenix Open, Mumm saw something that set a lightbulb off in his brain. Good Good, the hugely popular YouTube golf group, drew big numbers and energetic on-site crowds when they hosted a live tournament for golf influencers and celebrities in Scottsdale. The Good Good Desert Open took place at night, under the lights, the Wednesday evening before one of the PGA Tour’s most raucous events at a local 14-hole par-3 course. The event wasn’t even directly affiliated with the WMPO, but it streamed on Peacock and garnered 800,000 live viewers — a number that rivals some PGA Tour TV broadcasts.

At those meetings in Ponte Vedra Beach, Mumm raised the Desert Open’s success to PGA Tour executives — including SVP of Media Business Development, Chris Wandell.

“We were captivated by the explosion of YouTube golf,” Mumm said. “There was this new audience that had become obsessed with not only playing golf, but watching golf in a sort of nontraditional fashion.”

To prove the validity of the concept, Mumm and Wandell needed to go big. They could organize something in the middle of the busy summer season or in the calmer fall months. But why not just throw themselves into the fire? Mumm and Wandell proposed letting creators compete on a real stage, debuting the newly renovated back nine at East Lake, and bringing in the YouTube audience during one of the PGA Tour’s biggest weeks. The next step was getting everyone on board. But Mumm said he was “blown away” by how quickly the PGA Tour got behind the concept, despite it being an experimental plan.

“We have to do some sort of test to prove that it’s viable,” Wandell said. “Will this bring in any sort of a different incremental audience that has people engaging with our tournament in a new way? We could potentially prove that we should do this at more PGA Tour events in the future.”

The creators were apparently equally as shocked when approached about the event. Wesley Bryan, who is a PGA Tour winner but considers himself a full-time YouTuber, said he was pleasantly surprised when he heard about the strong list of influencer commitments and the idea coming together in such a short time. Wesley and his brother George run the Bryan Bros Golf channel, and they are both competing in the Classic.

“Behind the scenes with the tour, we’ve been trying to figure out how to properly merge the audiences, and it’s been a process that’s probably been the last two years at least,” Bryan said. “Finally, I feel like we’re getting to a spot where they’re willing to make a lot of these decisions and honestly, I’m pretty excited about what the next couple of years could look like.”

YouTube golf is taking over. Will the PGA Tour 'like and subscribe'?

The Creator Classic is serving as a test run for future endeavors from the PGA Tour and Pro Shop that won’t stop at live events. There’s a recognition now — among both parties — that the up-and-coming generation of sports fans isn’t going to be engaged in traditional ways. Now it’s just a matter of whether the PGA Tour’s involvement will affect that audience’s excitement about this type of golf content — will they be as passionate about tuning into the Creator Classic as they are when their favorite internet personality drops a vlog?

“We need to take advantage of this audience who isn’t normally watching broadcast television and who isn’t learning golf at a country club,” Wandell said. “It’s a different type of audience that we need to reach in the future.”

What will the broadcast look like?

YouTube golf videos already utilize high-tech cameras and complex editing, but the collaboration with the PGA Tour will be something different. There will be no editing — the event is live. With TV cameras set up throughout the course already for the PGA Tour broadcast, the event will be produced by both Pro Shop Studios and PGA Tour Entertainment. On-screen graphics will be employed, as well as ShotLink scoring data and Trackman shot tracing. The YouTubers are getting the full PGA Tour treatment.

The event is also equipped with a well-known cast of talent supporting the product. First, Riggs, Trent and Frankie of Barstool’s Fore Play will hit ceremonial opening tee shots. Then you’ll hear from a group of on-course and in-studio commentators such as Mark Immelman, Barstool’s Dan Rapaport and Hally Leadbetter. Joel Dahmen — a current PGA Tour player — has been added to the roster. Dahmen reached out to Mumm directly to express his interest in covering the event.
