After 2023 saw some huge names take to the UK's biggest stages to perform for adoring fans, 2024 promises to be another stellar year in concert history.

Beyoncé made history after becoming the first musician to have a five-concert residency at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for her Renaissance World Tour.

Afrobeats star Wizkid also made history after first African artist to sell out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in 2023.

Nicki has taken to her social media to announce tour dates for the UK & Europe leg of her 'Gag City' tour, which will happen in 2024.

Nicki gave fans details on a tour via Twitter, and she is coming to the UK & Europe, with other dates set to follow.

Taking place on 29th June 2024 , the African Giant will headline the iconic London Stadium following his sold out 2023 show and Number 1 Album 'I Told Them...'.

Upon his return to the UK, Burna Boy says: "London holds a special place in my heart, the energy and love from my fans here is unmatched. I'm thrilled to be returning to the London Stadium on 29th June 2024 , after the incredible show we had earlier this year.

R&B superstar NE-YO is bringing his 'Champagne & Roses' tour to UK arenas in March 2024 with music veteran and R&B heavyweight Mario as special guest.

The 10-date city tour kicks off in Manchester at AO Arena on 7th March, making stops across the UK, including two nights at The O2 London, before wrapping up at Manchester AO Arena on Tuesday 19th March.

Davido - Feel / Unavailable (Live from Capital XTRA Upfront 2023)

Davido is heading the UK to perform a headline show, and it's going to be epic.

The global superstar will be performing at The O2, London on Sunday 28th January, 2024.

The hotly-anticipated show comes off the back of the hitmaker's record-breaking launch of his fourth album, Timeless , which catapulted him to his first-ever Top 10 position on the UK charts.

D-Block Europe

Lewisham duo D-Block Europe are heading out on their biggest tour yet in 2024!

The pair will be doing a four-date residency at London's O2, with another show at Manchester's AO Arena in February 2024.

Festivals in 2024

2024 is looking to be a solid year for festivals, with the likes of Skepta even putting on his own festival for the first time ever!

City Splash Festival

City Splash Festival returns to London's Brockwell park on May 27 2024 to once again celebrate the impact of Caribbean and African culture in the UK and beyond. The much loved cultural gathering creates a space for the community to unite, connect and create history. City Splash, The Home of Culture, are renowned and authentic purveyors and advocates for Black music, food, dance and style that has made it one of the UK's most essential festival experiences.

Skepta's Big Smoke Festival

Pioneer of UK rap, Skepta , has announced his inaugural one-day music festival at Crystal Palace Park on July 6, 2024.

Titled Big Smoke festival, the 41-year-old rapper will curate two stages of live music alongside an ultimate line up of special guests.

Big Smoke Festival will be the only UK date you will be able to catch the grime MC at in 2024, and promises to be an unforgettable day.

Amongst those who have been added, The Streets, Mahalia, JME, Lancey, Jammer (DJ Set) and Loco Dice will perform, with the festival being the only place to catch Skepta live in the UK in 2024.

Loyle Carner at All Points East Festival

Loyle Carner will headline All Points East festival on Saturday 17 August in Victoria Park, Hackney alongside Nas, ENNY and many more.

Carner has graced massive festival shows and venues across the UK and beyond in 2023, with the Wembley OVO Arena in London a career standout.

This was followed by a string of packed out festival appearances over the summer, including a headline slot at Glastonbury’s West Holts stage,  Primavera Sound and most recently, the legendary Royal Albert Hall.

Notting Hill Carnival

The world’s second biggest carnival and Europe’s largest street event, Notting Hill Carnival, will return in 2024. The UK’s largest and most important celebration of culture, diversity and inclusivity will once again be full with vibrant colours, incredible music, dancing and delicious food.

Her­oes of hard­core hip hop  Onyx  have announced a four date tour of the UK this April, tak­ing in Birmingham’s  Mama Roux’s on 4 th  April, Bristol’s Lost Hori­zon on 5 th  April, Manchester’s Fact­ory 251 on 6 th  April,  then   clos­ing the tour in  London’s O2 Academy Isling­ton on 21 st  April , with tick­ets on sale now  here.

Onyx have amassed a glob­al fol­low­ing of fans since they burst onto the scene over 30 years ago, with some of their biggest and most loy­al in the UK.  Good Fri­day and Lat­fro  present Onyx’s World Tour, which the UK tour is part of, and the group’s first time on the road here in five years prom­ising to be a road­b­lock. Onyx tour as a duo, con­sist­ing of Fre­dro Starr and Sticky Fin­gaz.

Onyx  said  “We can’t wait to touch down again in the UK, it’s been way too long, UK are you ready for Onyx? We gonna shut it down!”

Ori­gin­ally from Queens, New York, Onyx first formed in 1988 by  Fre­dro Starr,  Sonny Seeza , and the late  Big DS , with  Sticky Fin­gaz  join­ing the group in 1991. The group released debut album ‘Bacdafucup’ in 1993, pro­duced by Run DMC’s Jam Mas­ter Jay and released on his JMJ Records label. The album which went plat­in­um, won awards and inter­na­tion­al recog­ni­tion, with the smash hit single  ‘Slam ’ peak­ing in the US Top 5, with magazine The Source hail­ing it as the record that intro­duced slam dan­cing into the hip hop scene. Two more songs from the debut ‘Throw Ya Gunz’ and ‘Shifftee’ garnered fur­ther hits. Onyx have released a total of twelve stu­dio albums, many remix albums, com­pil­a­tions and live albums. Three of the stu­dio albums went Top 10 in the Bill­board Hot 200 albums chart. Not­able albums include ‘Shut ‘Em Down’ (1998) fea­tur­ing DMX, 50 Cent, Wu-Tang Clan, N.O.R.E. and Big Pun, ‘Bacdafucup Pt II’ (2001), ‘Trig­gerno­metry’ (2003), ‘Wake­dafucup’ (2014), #Turndafucup (2014) fea­tur­ing Busta Rhymes, Raek­won, Rass Kass and Ill Bill, ‘Black Rock’ (2018), album ‘Onyx 4 Life’ (2021) fea­tur­ing Mad Lion, Cap­padonna, Sick­Flo and Snak the Rip­per and latest album ‘World Take Over’ (2023).

Brother Marquis dead at 58: Rapper & star of hip hop group 2 Live Crew known for their controversial tunes dies suddenly

BROTHER Marquis, one of the major rap group 2 Live Crew members, has died suddenly aged 58.

The group's social media accounts announced that Mark D. Ross, better known as Brother Marquis, died on Monday.

His death appeared to be due to natural causes, according to TMZ sources.

Brother Marquis' death follows the loss of one of the 2 Live Crew's co-founders, Fresh Kid Ice in 2017.

In the rap group's announcement of Brother Marquis' death, they said he "went to the upper room".

The band's manager confirmed the news to TMZ but didn't provide any additional details.

The talented artist was born in Rochester, New York .

The rapper featured in many of the group's most iconic and controversial albums .

Their hit 1898 LP As Nasty As They Wanna Be, was briefly declared obscene which led to the rappers' arrest in 1990.

Brother Marquis joined the group for their influential debut album, The 2 Live Crew Is What We Are, which was released in 1986

Despite the publicity generated by the Drake beef, Future and Metro Boomin’s “We Don’t Trust You” tour is facing significant challenges with ticket sales. According to the latest statistics, only 41.23% of the total ticket capacity has been sold. Thus, leaving many venues struggling to fill seats.

The tour features 23 shows across various cities. So, there’s a total of 311,800 tickets available. However, only 128,547 tickets have been sold so far. Cities like Milwaukee, Columbus, and Oakland have sold less than 30% of their available tickets. As a result, indicating a worrying trend for the tour organizers.

Some cities have shown stronger support, such as the State Farm Arena in Atlanta with 69.78% of tickets sold. In addition, the Intuit Dome in Inglewood boasting an impressive 91.70% sales. However, other locations like the Delta Center in Salt Lake City and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas have not yet released their sales data, potentially masking further issues.

Future and Metro Boomin, both major figures in the music industry, may need to reconsider their promotional strategies to boost ticket sales and ensure the tour’s success. The current figures highlight the unpredictable nature of live event attendance, even for artists with substantial followings.

With general sales having started on April 19, 2024, and many tour dates rapidly approaching, time is running out to improve these numbers. Fans and industry observers will be keenly watching to see if any last-minute efforts can turn the situation around.

Vince Staples Announces "Black In America" Tour

Vince Staples is fresh off the release of his new album Dark Times . The project lives up to both its name and its bleak album cover by taking on serious subject matter throughout. The record is surprisingly soulful given the kinds of topics it dabbles in. The record has been met with acclaim from both fans and critics alike in the wake of its release so its unsurprising that he's already announced plans to take the project on tour.

Earlier today Vince announced the "Black In America" tour. Later this year starting in October and running into November Vince will play a number of tour dates across North America. He's hitting up 11 different cities across his new show, many of which feature Baby Rose as the opener. Baby Rose is fresh off of her new Slow Burn EP, a collaboration with jazz outfit BADBADNOTGOOD.
