Thoughts on Sirius Travel Link?

I have been a subscriber to Sirius XM for awhile and like it quite a bit - our new Wrangler has equipped Travel Link. It's $1.99 a month so I decided to give it a try since I can cancel at any time. Do users here use Travel Link a lot and if so, what are you thoughts? Any features you like the most or hidden things you think are useful? Or did I just waste $2!?  

I had it for my first year of ownership, and periodically turning their free trial promotions. I don't think it is worth it. I don't find things like ski slope conditions very useful. It does integrate real time traffic with navigation. It is suppose to dynamically change routing to avoid traffic. The problem is, no such routing really exists. If one route gets clogged up, there really isn't an alternative that no one else has ever heard of. So, my nav unit keeps announcing that it is recalculating a new route due to traffic, and repeats such every few minutes, because there really are no traffic jam free routes.  

Had it free for 5 years I think.. I i maybe used it 3 times.. not much there that was useful as I recall.  

I still have it, must be part of the five year free stuff. I actually use it pretty much every travel trip. I can get a feel for gas prices and know if I stop at this exit for $2.15 a gallon gas I won’t be crying about the next exit when I see it for $1.90. But I’m getting a new head unit and won’t have it anymore. I would cry if I paid $2 a month for it though. Gas buddy will be my new friend. For $0.00.  

A little off topic, but... Sirius wanted $145 to renew my subscription for the Jeep (I also have it in the '10 F-150... we love it there), but with the spotty reception (I have a cheap Jensen h/u and the Sirius add-on receiver...which sucks), & the noisy open air environment, I cancelled the Jeep subscription cuz it just wasn't worth it. I listen (when stopped in traffic, lol) to smooth jazz, FM 102.9 Seattle.... for free...

I have never used it. I get a 5 year trial with my 2018 and in the last year and 3 months have never used it once. I use the navigation but not the travel link.  

Had it on my last car. Never used it. I kept Sirius however cause I like the stations.  

I'm a Margaritaville junkie...!  

Im an old fart and like the 50s on 5 and 60s on 6.....  

I find there are too many choices out there to fork over the kind of money Sirius is looking for. Amazon Music, Pandora, Apple Music, iHeart Radio all provide (IMO) superior sound quality when compared to Sirius. Fighting to get the Sirius rate down to somewhat reasonable levels every 3-6 months, is not my cup of tea.

Sirius XM Radio/Travel Link

Got a 2014 JGC Limited with the 8.4AN. My Sirius and Uconnect trial has come to an end. I subscribed to Sirius XM. I let the Uconnect expire and haven't planned to pay for any more of that. My question is, is Uconnect required to make XM Travel Link work? I really wanted the Travel Link features (especially the weather map) and the XM people told me it should work with my Sirius XM subscription but it seems like someone is full of crap. When I try to use any of the Travel Link features the touch panel just says "please wait". The radio works fine. When I look at the XM page on the same page the Travel Link features are on it says "not subscribed". That's funny, the sat radio is working.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
