Loved every second.

The mountain biking was unbelievable. It was both challenging and rewarding. I loved the different terrain and remarkable views. We never knew what to expect around the next turn. This route was perfect for us! In total it was 6 epic days of riding, 180 beautiful miles, and 15,000 feet of elevation gain, making this trip one of best vacations I have ever taken. Portugal Bike Tours comes highly recommended.

Fantastic week on Alentejo heritage and wine bike tour

We had a wonderful week on the Alentejo bike tour. The programme itself was excellent - we loved all the places we visited - the accommodation was outstanding - so unusual - and the towns and villages all so beautiful. The rides each day were great fun - challenging, but manageable, and the reward at the destination - reaching the beautiful town or seeing the magnificent view were always worth it. Lovely scenery along the way, good roads, fun coffee stops. Our guides Rodrigo and Luis were both super guys - we couldn't have asked for better - not only efficient and organised, but so friendly and always helpful and patient when dealing with any request from anyone, and just fun people to be around! They took us to lovely restaurants, different every time, and we all really enjoyed the delicious Portuguese cuisine and wine! It was a lovely week, a great experience from every angle, and the beautiful weather in Portugal is just a bonus! Planning on doing the Douro bike tour next year.

Wonderful self guided fun through Alentejo and Algarve

If you're looking for an adventurous experience of a life time made accessible and luxurious, and of course, you like pedalling, this is a brilliant way to spend a week. Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours have put together an amazing tour, along trails and tracks that you'd never find by yourself, taking you to amazing pousadas with stunning scenery along the way. Every place we stayed was a stand out, each time unique. We stayed in castles, country retreats and cliff tops with sunset vistas. There was an on occasional wine tasting. We cycled past beaches, canals, through forests and historic towns. Pedro was great, but really the set up was so perfect we didn't need any help. The bikes were brand new, solid and dependable Scotts.

Beautiful cycling along the Lima and Minho Rivers

I had a wonderful bike trip in the Douro River area in October in a guided cycling group. The area is very scenic and the biking was fantastic. This is not an easy trip for most cyclists and training is seriously advisable or take another less challenging tour Live, Love, Ride offers. The hotel accommodations were very good and the restaurants for lunches and dinner our guides picked out - simply awesome. I did not expect the food to be that good on this trip and it exceeded all expectations. Rodrigo and Luiz were fantastic guides - friendly, attentive and just a pleasure to be with and around. I strongly recommend Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours for a wonderful active cycling vacation in Portugal!!

Cascais Sintra Road Cycling Fun

We were based in Cascais, near Lisbon for 12 days and Portugal bike Tours were by far the easiest to work with in tailoring just what we needed. A guided tour 4 times over the 12 days for a morning each time. The bikes were amazing and set up ready for us to use.Rodrigo always made us feel confident on the ride and also coaching us when needed up the hills, thank you. We had some great fun and saw lots of the rides around Cascais and Sintra that are amazing. Thank you Rodrigo and Pedro and looking forward to coming again shortly for some more cycling.

Portugal Bike Vacation

GFNY Portugal

I chose Portugal Bike Tours to be my tour operator and host for GFNY Portugal. The organisation and assistance could not have been better. Transfer on time and comfortable, hotel with early check in etc...We rode on Friday before the race that was top and the staff scored ten. Ricardo Costa is a very nice guy and was always ahead so that our experience was 100%. Everything went well and exceeded expectations. Nothing better than being calm about the logistics of the pre-race and just worrying about the day of the race. I also leave my compliments to the other Ricardo, who was always ready to help us with whatever was necessary, from the assembly and disassembly of the bikes to the assistance with transportation and our guide in the labyrinths of Cascais. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I will be back for sure.

An amazing time cycling in portugal.

Had an amazing cycling experience in Portugal. Can’t say enough about our trio, Joaquim , Luis & Rodrigo who were an amazing team, patiently guiding us through rough and difficult terrains with their skills and expertise. Throughout the trip they took great care to manage our group efficiently and in a friendly manner, always looking after our safety and comfort. Best day in Portugal

Did a private one day bike tour with Daniel in the Douro valley, which included a winery/olive oil estate tour and dinner at a local restaurant. The day couldn't have been better and Daniel was an awesome guide. I highly recommend them for a cycling holiday in Portugal

Amazing Bike Tour

Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours exceeded every expectation of our Trip to the the Alentejo and the Algarve region. We biked down the Southern cost of Portugal and the views were breathtaking. Pictures simply can not do it justice. The biking was challenging and rewarding. Looking forward to the amazing food and wine at the end of the day was certainly a highlight. The fresh fish and incredible Portuguese wine were fabulous. We were so impressed with the hotels chosen by the company. Each night brought a new sense of adventure with beautiful rooms and great views. The laid back atmosphere of the region was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Our tour guides for the week Rodrigo and Joao were an instant hit! I never expected the type of attention they provided. The biking was only a part of it. Attention was paid to our every need, from luggage transfers to our meals and wine choices. They were both warm, caring and courteous. I am proud to call them my friends! We hope to someday go back and do the North of Portugal with them!.

A great MTB ride in Sintra

Everything was far beyond our expectations. The trails are beautiful, well maintained, not crowded at all, and there are trails for each level. Some trails are in a beautiful eucalyptus forest, other are within low vegetation and face the ocean. It is really spectacular!!! Luis our guide was perfect. He speaks fluently english , he is super fit and knows the area like his poker. He is funny, flexible but keeps super professional and takes care of his clients. It was a perfect day!

Amazing day biking near Lisbon

I booked a one day ride around Evora, Ricardo picked me up at the Four Seasons Ritz hotel in Lisbon and we drove out to ride in Évora. We rode for three hours around the area rolling hills through lovely cork forests, up to an ancient stone cropping. Ricardo was an excellent guide and wonderful host. The bike was really great quality. We then had lunch at an amazing restaurant in the heart of the medieval city. The ride was well planned and the whole day went smoothly. Southwest coast alentejo and algarve bike tour.

Led a group of 15 cyclists for 7 days to the southwest coast of Portugal. The Camino: Porto to Santiago de Compostela

Our group of four senior riders just returned from a wonderful biking adventure in Portugal and Spain, riding from Porto to Santiago de Compostela with Live, Love, Ride - Portugal Bike Tours. Once we realized that the full bike trip might be beyond our abilities, Pedro, Rodrigo and Jonas customized the daily rides to better suit our comfort level while maintaining the overall flavor of the experience. Our guides, Rodrigo and Jonas, went in advance to create an appropriate route and Pedro arranged for three out of four of us to have e-bikes, the perfect solution. We came away with great respect for the company’s eagerness to individualize the experience and satisfy their clients. Live, Love, Ride uses well located, quality hotels, Paradors and Posadas and chooses restaurants that provide a sampling of local flavor and foods. Rodrigo’s knowledge of wine was a bonus at each meal. Their primary goals were our safety and our enjoyment. One of the highlights was getting to know our terrific guides, Rodrigo, Jonas and Pedro, and benefiting from their personal experiences and knowledge about the culture and beauty of Portugal and Spain. Cycling in Alentejo with Portugal Bike Tours

If you want to experience cycling in Portugal, riding through unspoilt countryside I can thoroughly recommend engaging Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours to show you the way. I have just returned from the Alentejo area where our large group were provided with a superb tour by Ricardo of Portugal Bike Tours, enthusiastically assisted by Jonas. We stayed two nights in three different hotels, the last, the Marmoris hotel at Vila Vicosa being superb. I organised the trip, the first time I have ever taken on such a task and every question to Ricardo was answered personally and quickly during the planning stages. We were met at Lisbon airport and driven to our first hotel. The bikes we hired as part of the tour were modern and very good quality. The electric bikes used by three of the group were brand new. We were all carefully fitted to the bikes ready for the off the next morning. We were supplied with GPS units loaded with the routes plus a Portugues telephone for emergencies. The organisation by Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours was faultless and more than we ever expected. Every one of our group are keen to go back to Portugal next year and we are already talking to Ricardo about cycling with him in a different area of the Country. Without question, it will be with Live Love Ride.

10 Days North to South

A gem of a country to discover, 10 alaskan women bike/hike douro valley.

10 friends from AK traveled to Portugal to take a break from all the responsibilities of marriage, motherhood and work for 10 days. Not sure if Portugal Bike Tours knew what they were getting themselves into but they took on the challenge. Our guides Ricardo and Rodrigo provided the perfect vacation for us. Beautiful restaurants, challenging but not demoralizing biking and hiking, Portuguese cultural experiences, boat rides, port and wine tastings and the list goes on. I'm excited to bring my family back for a visit and I have no doubt Ricardo and Rodrigo will provide the same quality of care and memory making opportunities that we all experienced in this trip. Wonderful from start to finish.

A must ride

The central Portuguese Caminho ride deserves to be in every Mountain bike magazine out there. Don’t get me wrong, it is not the technical adrenalin blasting skinned knee big drop off a 20 inch ladder adventure, but it is a legitimate mountain bike required blast, although I did bloody my knee once. I was more than pleasantly surprised at the amount of dynamic terrain that we encounter throughout the ride.. This is not a road ride. We road from cobble stone, to dirt, to the street, to technical mountain single track. Around every twist and turn a new terrain was waiting for us. The climbs are legit but totally manageable and there was even cold beer at the top of the hardest and most technical climb. It was like it appeared out of the clouds.. Live Love Ride - Portugal Bike Tours… what can I say? these guys rock! They set us up with the adventure of a lifetime and every detail was seamlessly orchestrated. All we had to do was ride to the next town. Pedro set us on our way with the gear and information that we needed and then made everything work for us in the background… If you are considering a biking adventure, then this is the place and live love ride is the company.. it is a guaranteed life changer.. Wonderful bike tour in the Azores

We rode for 5 days in the Azores in a private group of 4. A van was following us at all times with food and drinks and a guide was biking with us, coaching us on the hard bits of the tour. We saw a lot of beautiful landscape on the Sao Miguel island of the Azores. The guides were very professional, were listening to our needs and adapted the tour to make it best enjoyable for us. Bikes were of excellent quality and well maintained. I strongly recommend this tour in the Azores.

Unforgettable Bike Tour

Getting to know a bit more of Portugal on two wheels with the Portugal Bike Tours team was unforgettable. They made all the difference improving my whole experience.

Communication was excellent via email with Ricardo at Portugal Bike Tours before we arrived. On the day of the Fondo everything was planned to perfection. Pedro did above and beyond for us, leaving us to the venue, providing top of the range bikes and meeting us after the event, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy the after event. We would totally recommend these guys, a professional and top class service. We are already looking at options for next year!

Excellent cycling adventure

We had a wonderful experience on our Jewels of Portugal self guided bike trip. The organization of the trip, the bicycles, accommodation and route planning were first rate. We enjoyed the scenery, quiet roads for cycling, beautiful towns and villages we cycled through and the hospitality of the people we encountered. Big thanks to owners Christine and Jose for providing us with an excellent cycling adventure, and to Luiz for our initial meet and greet. We would highly recommend Portugal Bike.

This was the best bike tour I’ve ever done. A friend and I did the self guided hybrid bike tour in “the Beautiful North” in April. First off the bikes are very very good with excellent components and a very comfortable seat. The organization of the trip is above and beyond. Much of this trip is on bike paths but also some cobble streets, asphalt and dirt trails. The scenery was amazing. The accommodations fantastic. And really good food! Cristina and Jose did a great job of communicating and preparing us for the trip. Highly recommended. Already planning a return trip with Portugal Bike for next year.

Our bike tour in the Alentejo Region was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. The tour booking was smooth, communication with the tour operator was excellent. The tour highlighted medieval and historic sights and featured visits to a winery and a pottery studio…a great mix of experiences to introduce us to the people and products of Portugal. Our tour guide was passionate about Portugal, very knowledgeable about the region including its food and wines and attentive to our needs. He set up our equipment (carbon fibre bikes with high end gearing) and met us along the way with water, snacks and a picnic lunch…on a marble picnic table no less! The route was lined with trees in blossom, the boughs weighed down with oranges and lemons. April is definitely the perfect time to visit this part of the country and travelling by bike was a delight. It was my first experience of a bike tour and we are already planning to return next year to see a different part of Portugal with Portugal Bike. I would highly recommend them.

I appreciated the quick response time to questions, clarity of communication, ease of logistics, and, of course, the fun of riding a bike in a glorious place.

Fantastic bicycle adventure through Portugal. Words and pictures cannot describe this experience. Portugal Bike set an excellent itinerary and provided all we needed to have a vacation to remember for ever. The bikes were well equipped, comfortable and well suited for the type of riding. Portugal Bike had all of the details worked out including detailed GPS instructions on computers by Garmin for easy navigation as well as a handlebar bag to carry some extras. While our tour was self-guided and unsupported daily, the hosts were always available if needed. We felt safe and secure at all times. Thank you, Portugal Bike!

Portugal Bike provided an exceptional cycling experience for my wife and I. This was our fourth self guided tour in Europe and by far the best in terms of routes, quality bikes, information, and connection with the tour operators. We loved southern Portugal and the Algarve region. We are considering another Portugal Bike tour for spring of 2024.
