The first trip we limited out on Snapper, on the second trip we limited out on shark, and a had a few other fish as well... at the end of the trip the crew will pass a bucket for tips. On other outfitters I have tipped 20% of the cost of the trip. It's not required but I highly recommend that you budget for it. The crew works very hard and I would say they deserve it.

Last weekend, I took a girls trip to Ft Myers with my mom and daughter. We decided that the dolphin & wildlife adventure cruise might be fun, and I am so glad that we decided to book this. Captain Ken and Val definitely made this a fantastic trip. The best part was some dolphins that were playing in the boat's wake...everyone on the boat was just in awe. So amazing!! It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Ft Myers! We can't wait to go back!

Expect lots of fun and exciting dolphin encounters on our tour! From time to time, we have water battles with several other vessels that we encounter while out on the water (rarely on the Sunset Cruise). If time allows, the crew pulls a crab pot up to see what the daily catch is to show the kids. If the dolphin are feeling playful, they often surf in our boat wake while we are cruising!

Captain Truelove & crew made this the most fun & magical evening intercoastal excursion ever! Dolphins (70 make their home here) were everywhere! We saw them feeding & they even suprised us by surfing in our boat's wake! I think our Captain conspired with them to entertain us. Crew members gave each of us 38 passengers special attention, especially the two youngest passengers. Photo ops included great blue herons, a baby dolphin, family photos, intercoastal marsh grasses, pines and inlets. Drinks and snacks came out early, and the adventure on Wolf Bay ended with a gorgeous sunset & new moon! Did I mention great music, singing and trivia, along with a most knowledgeable and charming crew! The offer a discount if you return, and your wrist band gets you more local dining discounts. The Explorer was truly a special trip.

When planning our trip to Orange Beach there were several cruises to choose from. We decided on this sail and we were glad we did. Crew is awesome. You get a table and chair with options to buy drinks both hard or soft including water. The sail was smooth, great music and wonderful photo ops of a beautiful sunset. Highly recommended!

The Hurricane Fleet is the Original Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruise company. We operate out of the closest port to the Atlantic Ocean, allowing for more time on the water….to search for Dolphins.

On days when the  shrimp boats are running, we are able to pull right up behind to watch the dolphins feeding off the scraps and the nets coming out of the ocean full of fun critters. When the shrimp boat is running, the crew will toss up a bag of goodies for you to see, learn about, and touch if you’d like.

Our base is a cozy, quaint fishing town offering some of the world’s best seafood and unique shops. Located about 10 minutes outside of North Myrtle Beach, at the closest port to the ocean, you’ll have more time on the ocean enjoying the beautiful views of the Myrtle Beach area coastline.

This Dolphin Cruise & Tour runs from 1:30-3:30 pm and 4:00 – 6:00 pm most days. We often add a third trip as well. On select days we offer the Dolphin Cruise around sunset. This very popular trip often sells out fast. Whichever tour you take, you’ll have time to eat fresh, world class seafood right in the village before or after your trip. We LOVED this trip! The mates were so funny and personable, the Captain was really informative and his commentary about all the things we saw was so interesting. He really seems to love sharing the intercoastal waterway with people. We saw dolphins two minutes out of the docks and the captain turned the boat so everyone had a chance to see them. It was magical. The price was incredibly reasonable for a nice long cruise and there is not one single thing I would see done differently. Can't wait to see them again next year!

We did the Dolphin tour. We saw several dolphins. It was well worth it to get out on the ocean. My daughter did get a little sea sick but got through it and obviously it was no fault of hurricane fleet just bring some dramamine along.

We saw Dolphins!

One of the highlights of our beach trip. My 3 year old keeps talking about it. I was nervous about taking a toddler on a 2 hour trip with no guarantees but I booked the dolphin sunset cruise in the morning and we were on the water watching dolphins that evening. There’s something to do the whole trip. The ride out on the Intracoastal Waterway has scenery, seagulls that occasionally fly along with the boat, and the Captain has facts about what you’re passing. Once out on the ocean, the Captain had the boat next to a pod of dolphins within 10 minutes. Before leaving the dock he said he had to have the boat back at a certain time but then stayed out a few extra minutes because a separate pod of dolphins showed up right as we were about to head in. The ride back to the dock was relaxing. The weather had cooled off, the water was smooth, and you head down the waterway facing the setting sun. Perfect spot to grab a picture then sit back and take it in. Didn’t know what to expect so we packed some snacks in a small bag but they had a snack bar and on the way in one of the crew had something going on a grill. We’ll go back next year for sure and will recommend it to anyone in the area on vacation.

They showed the kids shark teeth shark jaws the captain got us right on dolphins. And just made it a very memorable experience. Group rates are available for schools, church groups, large family reunions and companies.

Cruises are 1½ to 2 hours long. The tour encompasses 3 distinct experiences starting with a narrated cruise up the Intracoastal waterway. Then picking up speed and passing several uninhabited islands as well as the jetty heading out into the ocean. The second part of the tour is heading into the ocean to find and view the dolphins and the third part is picking up speed to view our beautiful coastline.

This is a wet ride so dress accordingly. There is a dry box on board for valuables. We do suggest a bag or case to keep cameras and phones dry so you may take pictures. Sun glasses and sunscreen are also recommended for this tour.

If you want SEATING UNDER THE CANOPY please arrive early because boarding is done by group #.  Group #1 will board first and will include several parties who arrive the earliest.  All passengers must check in and get a boarding pass before boarding. The boat departs promptly at scheduled times so please allow time to park, check-in, etc.

No, they do the same cruise.  They are both narrated by an experienced crew.  Both boats have a canopy covering about 8 rows of seating. Both hold 141 passengers.

No, but they are close.  The boats are a couple of blocks away from each other.

Do You Need To Print Anything?

No, when you make a reservation online, your confirmation, instructions & directions will be emailed to you.  Just give your last name when checking-in for your boarding pass.

Are There Bathrooms?

Yes, there are restroom facilities at each location prior to boarding. The restrooms on board are marine toilet facilities and are for emergency use only.

Do You Get Wet?

Yes, it can be a wet ride so dress accordingly. Bathing suits with covers, towels, whatever you are comfortable with.

Do You Cruise In The Rain?

Yes, the cruise operates in light rain.  The Captain may cancel if weather becomes stormy. (Thunder & Lightening)

What Can I Bring?

Are There Life Jackets?

Yes, under the seats for all passengers. Also CHILDREN’S life jackets are available.

Are The Boats Handicap Accessible?

No, the boats are not handicap accessible.  Wheelchairs & walkers can go as far as the stairs to the boat.  They are not allowed on board for safety reasons.  There are about 4-5 steps (handrails) up to the boat and then a short distance to a seat.  The crew will assist with boarding.  These cruises are not handicap approved by the coastguard.

Directions from Myrtle Beach & North Myrtle Beach:  Take Highway 17 North through North Myrtle Beach. Go over the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge, staying on Hwy 17 North towards Wilmington. Proceed 3 miles and turn right onto Mineola Avenue. From Mineola Avenue, turn right onto Watson Avenue (If you pass Pirate’s Treasure Giftshop, you’ve gone too far on Mineola).  Square Grouper Marina will be on the left side of Watson Avenue.  After parking, look for the Myrtle Beach Watersports sign for check-in and boarding pass.

Faster access from Myrtle Beach:  Take Highway 31 North, exiting at Highway 9 South. Proceed on Hwy 9 South and take the exit toward Wilmington/Little river. Turn left at the traffic light onto Hwy 90 East. Go approximately 1 mile and bear right onto Hwy 17 North. Both convenient and comfortable, these cruises depart daily and provide plenty of seating for your whole crew. 

Another unique and upfront way to observe is using wave runners to see the bottlenose dolphins. These types of adventures start out at  Destin Harbor  as experienced guides take you to various dolphin “hangouts”. After exploring these amazing Dolphins in their natural habitat, you are sometimes then allowed to adventure out as well. You can explore at your own pace. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera so you can get some good shots of the dolphins!

What is the best time of day to spot Dolphins? In the Destin area, dolphins tend to be the most active in the morning and again in the mid-afternoon.

Where is the best place to spot Dolphins in Destin? Dolphins, which are not migratory mammals, can be seen here year-round.  Great places to spot them are in and around the Destin Harbor, the Destin East Pass, and the Choctawhatchee Bay.

Are there any specific tips to finding and seeing Dolphins? Contrary to what you may think…Dolphins like wakes created by boats , so keep an eye out there. Also, when in shallow waters, they tend to hang out in pods of 4 to 7, so it is not usual that when you see one Dolphin there is a good chance others are close by.
