Recent tour reviews

This is the third time I've seen this wonderful band but the first time I've actually paid to see them exclusively. The other two were at festivals.

What you see with Hayley Williams and her merry crew is what you get. A powerful, energetic, sometimes outrageous performance. The music they wrote in their first three albums contributes heavily to this. They made lively punk-pop music and their shows reflect that.

But something changed this time around. Paramore's most recent piece of work, After Laughter, completely changes direction from what they're historically used to providing. While it's a solid album in its own right, it doesn't blend well with the old stuff.

So the group has made a similar switch in their live shows. Two songs from RIOT!, one from Brand New Eyes, nothing from All We Know Is Falling in the setlist. After Laughter was played almost in its entirety, turning this more into a pop concert than a punk one.

Don't get me wrong, Hayley and crew still provide a great night of entertainment and their audiences are equally as explosive. It's just now expectations need to be managed accordingly. For some, this is the end of the line. For me? I'm not sure. But if you come looking for one of the best rock acts on the planet, you may leave feeling a little disappointed.

Absolutely amazing. I was standing and I was very close to the front. The whole stage presence of the band was incredible and Hayley Williams especially connected so well with the audience. I was looking foward to this show since September, and God was it worth the wait. I’ve seen a lot of bands in my life, but they are right up there with the likes of Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses. If all the concerts I’ve been to, this just might be my favourite yet.

And when Hayley chose someone from the crowd to come up on stage and sing Misery Buisness I was jumping as high as I could shouting “ Pick me, pick me!”. Although I was not picked, it didn’t matter, it was still in my eyes, the best band I’ve seen yet. Unfortunately I’m only 15 but if I could drive, I would’ve booked tickets for another show that same night.

Being able to jump and sing to songs like Still into You, Misery Buisness, Ignorance and That’s what you Get was an experience I could not have imagined to be any better. Thank you for an amazing show Paramore. I’ll see you next time

Thanks for the Memories BECAUSE THEY WERE SO GREAT | Monumentour 2014:

On August the 2nd, 2014, with a full bladder and a happy heart I arrived at the Austin360 amphitheater to live out a dream – See Fall Out Boy perform live.

After a brief visit to a way-too-hot Port O Potty and a little loss of dignity, that dream was well on its way to becoming true.

I’m sad to say that I missed the opening band (New Politics). I’m going to go ahead and put the blame for that one on my mom. She’s perpetually late to everything. And yes, that’s right ladies and gents, I do indeed go to concerts with my mom. She can hang 10x better than most people I know and we have virtually the same taste in music. Anyways, after finding our seats (because this was a seated venue which, *annoyed sigh*, we’ll get into another time) it was time for the second band to take the stage. And let me tell you, they made themselves known by firing confetti guns that nearly gave me a heart attack. FOUR TIMES. FOUR MINI HEART ATTACKS. I suppose I should probably tell you that the confetti firing band was Paramore. Maybe you’ve heard of them? Oh, who am I kidding? Everyone knows Paramore, and for good reason.

They’re music is totally energetic and now I can vouch that their performances are too. From the synchronized head banging during Misery Business to the cheesy “we’re all a family” speech, there wasn’t one boring moment during their set. They played both older and newer songs, keeping up the energy and excitement the whole time. Hayley and the boys are so cute when they interact. I have this fantasy that they eat pizza rolls and watch The Simpsons together when they’re not touring. Also, my crush on bassist, Jeremy Davis, only increased when I saw his dance moves. AND THE TATTOOS. MY GOODNESS.

Next up was a music video interlude which I am totally all for. Then, we all went home. JUST KIDDING. After the music videos, the stage lights were dimmed, a creepy voice started talking about fears, and from the center of the platform, four glorious human beings arose. Fall Out Boy started their performance by playing The Phoenix and from there played incredible song after incredible song (because that’s the only kind of song they write). They even did a Queen cover at one point and that is always okay in my book.

I have a lot of feelings about this band. I’ve been a fan since the days of guyliner (ehem, Pete) and novels-for-song titles. On one hand, they make me feel totally hardcore because of their bangin music but on the other hand, I feel like a gigantic puddle of fangirl because they’re all really adorable. I mean, at a certain angle, Joe looks like Patrick Dempsey circa Can’t Buy Me Love, and then you’ve got the precious teddy bear on drums. Andy wore a stoic, almost grumpy, face of concentration for most of the show only to smile and melt my heart at the end.

Next you have the ball of cheese that is Pete. He did most of the talking throughout the performance and the lil’ cutie spewed cliché after cliché about following your dreams and “choosing your own fucking happiness” and it was glorious.

Do I even need to explain Patrick’s preciousness? I swear, he and Johnny Depp are the only two people in the world who can work a fedora. I just want to hug him and cuddle him and kiss him gently on the forehead AND THEN HE HAD TO GO AND DO A THING LIKE BREAK OUT HIS DRUM SKILLS. Hot damn. He and Andy did an incredible drum sesh/ mash up thing with Jay Z’s 99 Problems. Super cool.

Overall, Fall Out Boy performed so well. I’m just sad I haven’t seen them perform live sooner. They seem like amazing people and they deserve every single fan that filled up the crowd.

CONCERT RATINGS: VENUE: 2/10

PERFORMERS: 10/10

SETLIST: 10/10

ANNOYING PEOPLE IN THE CROWD: 3/10

CUTE BOYS ON STAGE: 12/10

WOULD ATTEND AGAIN: 10/10

But Taylor won't stay away from UK soil for too long, with her due back in the capital for a further five sold-out shows (August 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20).

Taylor will likely be supported by boyfriend Travis while performing for sold-out crowds in the UK, with the KCC tight end expected to travel over from the United States to support his girlfriend. And when he does get to witness the iconic and hotly-anticipated world tour, Travis will get to hear the song Taylor penned about him from her new album, The Tortured Poets Department .

On her album, The Tortured Poets Department, the song So High School, is suspected to be written about Travis . In the song, Taylor croons: "Truth, dare, spin bottles / You know how to ball, I know Aristotle," which seemingly references his football skills and her songwriting skills.

The lyric video for the TTPD track also highlights TK - Travis' initials in pink, and TS - Taylor's initials in pink. Taylor croons the bridge of this song during the TTPD set of her Eras Tour after thrilling the crowd with her country-esque TTPD song, But Daddy I Love Him.

Local boutique turns Taylor-themed for the weekend

While some fans are queuing in line by the stadium to buy official merchandise, others are queuing outside a local store in Edinburgh.

Pie in the Sky has decked out its storefront with giant hanging friendship bracelets with the names of her albums on them. The mannequin is also dressed up like Taylor herself. Inside, the store is selling taylor themed badges, coasters, and quirky coffee table books.

Fans on X shared the line to get into the store leads out the door and up the block.

Edinburgh Zoo celebrates Taylor's upcoming concerts with penguin friendship bracelets

The penguins at the zoo in Edinburgh are showing their love for Taylor Swift.

Edinburgh Zoo shared photos on their X account of four of their penguins wearing Taylor Swift inspired friendship bracelets. In their tweet, the zoo shared: "Remember, show your Eras Tour ticket at the door to get 25% off zoo admission (valid 7-9 June on walk-up tickets only)".

It's unclear if Taylor's Eras Tour is penguin-friendly, but she'd make an exception for her flightless fans.

Taylor Swift sound checks at stadium as Swifties go wild

Fans outside of the stadium got an extra special treat.

While no one saw Taylor formally arrive to the city, they could hear the show being sounchecked. It's hard to say if she was in the venue with a microphone physically doing the check, but some vocals (possible backing tracks) could be heard.

Songs that could be heard included Anti-Hero and You Belong With Me. One fan said she could even hear it from her rooftop.

Fans happily wait hours in queue for merchandise as line wraps block

Swifties are no strangers to waiting with dedication.

They went from waiting in Ticketmaster queues and duking it out for their tickets to getting along in the merchandise line outside the stadium. The early shopping is an initiative to help reduce crowding and minimize traffic on show day. After all, fans will want to focus on the artist, not the wait times.

While some fans reported waiting over an hour or more to buy their goods, many seemed pleased with the outcome. Many took to social media, clutching a bag in their hands, to show off their goodies.

Fraud experts issue Taylor Swift scam ticket warning

Before the show even starts, it looks like there's been a snag.

Experts are warning fans to be careful about buying last minute resale tickets, especially if they aren't through official platforms. Facebook is currently under fire after 90 percent of the £1million lost in online ticket scams for the Eras Tour reportedly originated on the platform.

Niamh warned to look out for the price and payment method and only send money through a reliable app and double check their banking information. By the way, fans should look into purchase protection which is available on some platforms like PayPal.

She also advised to be mindful of strange messages, especially ones that try to pressure you into sending money quickly. Also, look out for accounts who are just replicating the post over and over or across different accounts. If you do come across a scammer, be sure to report them.

Venue warns fans to avoid camping out in queue as they release day-of show times

The Scottish Gas Murrayfield expressed concern about campers at the venue.

For all ticket-holders, they emailed out some pre-show information, including the time everyone can expect to be let in. VIP receives early entry, heading in at 15:00, and the general public follows at 16:00.

The show won't even begin until 18:00 and, keep in mind, she does have openers, so it will be awhile until Taylor herself hits the stage. Regardless, with a full General Admission floor, fans are despearte to get close to their favourite star.

The venue, though, doesn't want fans camping in advance. In the email, they wrote: "Scottish Gas Murrayfield is situated in a residential area which isn't suitable for overnight camping or anyone queuing too far in advance of the gate opening times. We would therefore ask that anyone attending only arrive at the venue at the time, which is advertised on their tickets, on the day of their show."

Local restaurants unveil 'Taylored Taste Trail' with special courses and offers

The city has rallied together to make the most of this magical weekend.

The Taylored Taste Trail takes fans through Edinburgh by encouraging them to shop at particiapting businesses. Plus, they have a plant for if Swifties need some sweets.

The city website explains: "Whether you’re attending one of the concerts or looking for ways to enjoy Taylor-inspired activities right here in Scotland’s capital, we’ve got some great tips and suggestions on how to make the most of the weekend.

"From hints on how to have a safe and enjoyable time at the concert, to an Edinburgh itinerary for Swifties fans, we’ve got everything you need. Any when hunger beckons, the Taylored Taste Trail is an exclusive culinary adventure that no fan will want to miss!"

Unofficial Taylor Swift merchandise store sees packed queue out the door

Pie in the Sky is a local indie story known for their adorable designs, including their famos take on Taylor Swift merch.

While in Edinburgh, fans took the opportunity to stop into the store which has often gone viral on social media like TikTok. They really leaned into the visit from Swifties as they added oversized friendship bracelets on display in their store window. Plus, they put together a mannequin meant to look like the Bad Blood singer, including a sweet pink guitar and a pair of heart sunglasses.

A fan on X snapped some pictures of the line wrapping out the door. The store is known to have adorable stickers and artsy crafted items. "Best believe im going to go broke on this trip," one fan previously wrote about the store on TikTok.

Scottish Prime Minister welcomes Taylor to their country

The First Minister of Scotland John Swinney expressed his excitement to have the Pennsylvania-native pop star in their country.

He said: "The first thing I want to say to Taylor and to all of her Swifties is that they're really, really welcome here in Scotland ... A really warm welcome here and I know that all of the Swifties will be so exhilirated by her presence in Scotland."

Swinney's kind words come following similar sentiments from a slew of world leaders. Where ever Taylor seems to go, words of kindness seem to follow as she continues to boost local economies with her tour.

Edinburgh Zoo gives penguins friendship bracelets and offers discount

The Edinburgh Zoo wants Swifties to get in the door.

In a new post on X, they've shown off their adorable penguins accessorising with Taylor-themed friendship bracelets on their flippers. They referenced Taylor's song You're On Your Own Kid and reminded fans that they can receive a 25% discount on entry to the zoo if they show their Eras Tour Ticket at the door.

Fans were even inquisitive about their favorite bird, Sir Nils Olav the penguin. Rest assured, Sir Nils does, in fact, have a friendship bracelet of his own. The zoo explained: "He does! It's purple, he's a #SpeakNow stan."

With the shows not quite starting up yet, fans will have time to explore. After all, plenty of fans are traveling from far and wide, so they might as well take a look at the best Edinburgh has to offer.

What time does The Eras Tour start in Edinburgh?

We are so close to Taylor's Eras Tour finally taking place in the UK, with the hitmaker due to take to the stage in a little over 24 hours. But when does tomorrow night's Eras Tour show kick off at Murrayfield Stadium?

The concert will begin at 6pm local time, according to reports, with Paramore opening for the Anti-Hero singer. Taylor is then expected to begin her set at 7:15pm local time. And for those wondering when she'll thrill fans with her surprise songs during the acoustic set, this is expected to take place at 9:55pm local time.

The tour is three-and-a-half hours long and features 45 songs from Taylor's award-winning career. She kicks off the show honouring the Lover era, and ends it with the Midnights era.

Taylor also honours the Red, Folklore, Evermore, Fearless, Speak Now, 1989 and The Tortured Poets Department eras. She sadly doesn't include a dedicated set to her debut album's era, although she may still perform hits from this album during the acoustic set.

Taylor changed the setlist of The Eras Tour at the start of May in Paris following the release of The Tortured Poets Department the month before.

Murrayfield renamed in Taylor Swift's honour

Taylor Swift has Scottish roots! Yes, really.

In 2015 during a gig in Scotland, the American sweetheart revealed that her father had emailed her ahead of her performance to reveal their family’s Scottish roots.

She said: “In the subject line it said ‘tell Scotland this’, and in the email he said our whole family is from Scotland and you have to tell them that.

“So I am one of you, and I’m proud because this crowd is amazing.”

And because of this, Scottish Gas has renamed the Murrayfield stadium Scottish Lass in Taylor’s honour.

How to get involved with Eras Tour fun if you've not got tickets

If you are a certified Swiftie and fancy getting in on the action but sadly didn't manage to bag tickets, fear not, because you can still celebrate in STYLE.

Many fans live-tweet the show on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, so keep an eye on the hashtag - #EdinburghTSTheErasTour - and you'll see live updates, videos, photos and announcements of surprise songs and any exciting moments.

Another way to get in on the action is by guessing what Taylor will wear for each era and what songs she will sing during the acoustic set.. Simply play along via Allie Fantasy Swiftball (found via fan Snowglobe Allie's X profile ), or via the Swift Alert mobile app and the Mastermind section where you can submit your predictions and guesses.

And of course, another great way to get in on the Taylor Swift mania currently sweeping the country is by making friendship bracelets while watching The Eras Tour Movie on Disney+ .

First Minister's Taylor Swift gesture branded 'humiliating'

Loch Tay in North Perthshire has been renamed in honour of the American hitmaker touching down in Scotland and gearing up for her gig tomorrow night.

Heart Scotland temporarily changed Loch Tay to Loch Tay Tay, with Scottish First Minister John Swinney encouraging her to visit the area when she descends on the country. The SNP leader said he was "thrilled" to welcome Taylor and her many fans to the area.

He said: "The first thing I want to say to Taylor and to all of her Swifties is they’re really really welcome here in Scotland. I’m so thrilled and the fact that Loch Tay is being renamed Loch Tay Tay is just fabulous. I speak as someone who represents Loch Tay, who loves Loch Tay, who’s got the privilege of representing the area, to say an extra special welcome to Taylor, to Scotland.

"I really hope she has the chance to go and see Loch Tay – or should I say Loch Tay Tay – which is the most beautiful part of Scotland. She’ll get a really warm welcome here and I know all of the Swifties will be so exhilarated by her presence in Scotland."

Reacting to the social media post, one person said: " This is genuinely one of the most humiliating moments in Scottish history."

Another then added: "This message is more important than intervening in the 19-month pay dispute within Further Education which has led to 12 days and counting off strike action?"

Who is Paramore, the band supporting Taylor on The Eras Tour?

Taylor might well be the main event at The Eras Tour, but like any concert, there are supporting acts that will warm up the crowds before the American hitmaker takes to the stage.

Paramore is the band supporting Taylor on her European and UK leg of The Eras Tour, but who are they? Well, Taylor has been close friends with Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams since 2008 when they were both nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy Award - so they go back quite a way, with the band already known within the realms of the Swiftie community.

Paramore is an American rock band that was formed in 2004. Since 2017, the band's members include lead vocalist Hayley Williams, lead guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro.

The band is known for hit songs such as Hard Times, Misery Business, Still Into You, and All I Wanted. They will perform a set of their best-loved hits before Taylor takes to the stage tomorrow night, and all over the weekend for The Eras Tour in Edinburgh.

Fans are wondering if Hayley and Taylor will collaborate at some point for their duet from Speak Now (Taylor's Version), Castles Crumbling. And because this is a Taylor Swift tour... anything is possible and only time will tell.

Taylor welcomed to Scotland with a bagpipe rendition of Love Story

The American sweetheart has been welcomed to Scotland in STYLE with a bagpipe rendition of her 2008 hit Love Story played near the stadium where she will perform a three-hour-long show tomorrow.

Ahead of Taylor taking to the stage tomorrow night, the Scottish city is giving the hitmaker a proper welcome. The Reel Time Band, an 11-piece band made up of eight highland bagpipers and three drummers, performed her song Love Story on the steps outside the venue while wearing kilts that had an Eras nod to them.

Taking more than 32 hours to rehearse the tune, Roddy Deans, pipe major of The Reel Time Band, said: “Taylor’s tunes translate surprisingly well to traditional Scottish instruments.

“We’re all huge music fans, so we’re delighted to help welcome Taylor to Scotland in the best way we know how.

“It’s been a lot of fun recreating Love Story on the bagpipes and putting this ensemble together.”

How much Eras Tour merchandise costs as fans queue for t-shirts

Taylor Swift fans will be keen to get their hands on some physical memorabilia from The Eras Tour, which is why the queues for the merchandise trucks are packed and ever-growing.

Fans are keen to get the Eras Tour poster with their city written on the front, with many also eyeing up the blue sweater that is on offer and features the tour dates written on the back. But how much does everything cost?

Well, according to photographs taken by fans in Scotland that have been shared on social media, hoodies are priced at £70, quarter zip hoodies at £65, crew neck sweaters are also £65 and t-shirts are £40.

Meanwhile, long sleeve shirts are £40, tote bags are priced at £25, water bottles are being sold for £15, a bracelet is £30, and posters are only £15.

The merchandise stalls opened on Wednesday, meaning fans have been flocking there in their droves in order to bag their desired garments and merchandise buys.

Murrayfield Stadium is being transformed

Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium is being transformed as we speak, with Taylor's massive stage being built ahead of her first show at the venue tomorrow night. And it's safe to say, it's getting Swifties even more hyped.

In drone snaps, fans can be seen descending on Murrayfield Stadium, with the pictures showing long queues starting to form. Around 220,000 people are expected to attend Taylor's sold-out show at the venue.

Fans have reacted to the aerial shots and video clips of the stadium taking shape, with one on X saying: "Omg!!!! Can’t wait!" Another added: "About to burst from excitement I swear."

Also in Scotland, trams have been spotted wrapped in The Tortured Poets Department branding in Edinburgh, ahead of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour kicking off this Friday.

Reacting to this, one fan said: "Oh my my Edinburgh is winning." While another penned: "THIS IS WHAT WE WANTED! YES EDINBURGH."

Taylor Swift fan travels for fourteen hours to be first in line at Edinburgh show

The Scottish capital of Edinburgh, which is where Taylor will perform tomorrow, has been transformed into Taylor town , with bagpipers ready to welcome the singer to Edinburgh with a special highland version of her hit song Love Story. Fans are beyond excited for Taylor to arrive and one has even travelled 360 miles for the Eras Tour .

Ellie Poulter, 19, has travelled from Oxfordshire for fourteen hours by bus to make sure she can be the first in the queue to see Taylor. Ellie has even been camping outside the stadium to get the best spot.

Many other fans have also attended the stadium and surrounding areas to buy merchandise, with many stocking up on tour t-shirts, posters, water bottles, hoodies and pullovers.

Taylor Swift Era’s tour multi-million pound boost to UK economy – and why the West Midlands is missing out

Taylor Swift's billion-dollar blockbuster Eras tour arrives in the UK today, amid a frenzy of fan excitement – and a huge amount of spending.

Watch more of our videos on Shots! and live on Freeview channel 276

British and Irish fans have waited more than a year for the show to arrive, since she kicked off her marathon string of dates in Glendale, Arizona in March 2023.

Since then Taylor Swift has crossed the US, Asia and South America and made stops across Europe, often accompanied by her boyfriend, the NFL star Travis Kelce.

Sadly, there is no stop off in the West Midlands. Instead, she steps out onto the stage at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh tonight, ahead of shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, London and Dublin. She will then return to London in August.

The Eras tour , which takes fans on a journey through the different musical stages of her career, has been a juggernaut.

And the West Midlands is missing out financially from not having a show of its own. Swift's UK tour is predicted to provide a £997 million boost to the country's economy. Almost 1.2 million fans will spend an average of £848 on tickets, travel, accommodation, outfits and other costs to see the pop superstar at one of the 15 UK tour dates – more than 12 times the average cost of a night out, according to the Barclays Swiftonomics report.

paramore uk tour merch

Eras tour tickets sparked a 15.8 per cent year-on-year increase in UK spending on entertainment when they were released last July.

The average amount spent on an Eras tour ticket is £206, although 14 per cent of fans, including those who bought VIP ticket packages with premium seating and exclusive merchandise, spent more than £400.

It has already grossed more than a billion dollars, the biggest haul for any act ever and has bagged a Guinness World Record.

Cities keen to cash in on the tour will roll out the red carpet for her arrival, with special artworks being installed in Liverpool in celebration of her shows. Dubbed the Taylor Town Trail, it will feature 11 art installations which are inspired by the studio albums from her back catalogue, including a huge butterfly installation, a regal throne and themed murals.

Capital Radio has also launched a pop-up station dedicated to all things Taylor Swift ahead of the start of the tour.

Capital (Taylor's Version) will play hits from across her 11 studio albums, as well as offering trivia on the artist.

The station will also provide updates on Swift as she tours across the UK and will speak to fans before and after the shows to hear all the details of the experience.

Capital has said it is the first time in the UK that a national DAB radio station has been dedicated to a single artist.

The appetite for the tour has not been dimmed by the fact it is currently available to view on streaming service Disney+.

It was during the six-night run at the So-Fi Stadium in Los Angeles that the show was captured on camera by director Sam Wrench to make a concert film.

Swift flexed her considerable negotiating muscles by bypassing the traditional Hollywood studios and releasing the film directly to cinemas.

It is now available to stream for free for anyone with a Disney+ subscription.

However, UK and Irish fans will be treated to a significantly different show, after Swift overhauled her setlist, staging and costumes following the release of her latest album The Tortured Poets Department.

She has cut songs from the previous set list, including fan favourite Long Live, and added a string of tracks from the new record, including But Daddy I Love Him, Down Bad, Fortnight, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, which are widely interpreted to be about her rumoured romance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

The level of frenzy over the tour has prompted a major bank to issue a warning over the risk of scams.

Lloyds Bank estimates more than £1 million could already have been lost in the UK to fraudsters pretending to offer tickets to Swift's concerts and says more than 600 Lloyds Banking Group customers have already come forward to report being scammed.

The average amount lost by each victim was £332, though in some cases the loss was more than £1,000, Lloyds said.

Swift's show in Edinburgh on Friday will feature support from US rock band Paramore and is due to kick of at 7.15pm.

Punk singer Shira Yevin pushes for fair pay with InPink, a women-focused job marketplace

paramore uk tour merch

It’s been 20 years since Shira Yevin, the lead singer of punk band Shiragirl drove a pink RV into the Vans Warped Tour grounds, the now-defunct punk rock festival notorious for being male-dominated . In response to the festival’s lack of female-fronted bands, Yevin’s band crashed the festival and set up an impromptu all-female stage. This led to the creation of Warped Tour’s Shiragirl Stage, which hosted over 300 bands, including Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Paramore. It was later honored with a Warped Tour exhibit at the Rock and Hall of Fame.

After Shiragirl Stage, Yevin went on a “lifelong crusade for carving out a space for women in music and other male-dominated industries,” she told TechCrunch. This began with the launch of Gritty in Pink in 2020, a Live Nation-backed platform designed to empower women in the music industry.

A few years later, the company rolled out its flagship product, InPink , a job marketplace for females and non-binary artists, among other professionals across the music and live entertainment space, such as tour managers, photographers and video editors who specialize in concerts, and graphic designers for poster creation. Like freelance platforms Fiverr and Upwork, users can publish listings to highlight their services on InPink’s marketplace and connect with major brands.

“On the freelance talent side, it’s hard to find opportunities without a network or personal connections. If you’re not in the ‘boys club,’ most jobs aren’t even posted. And then, of course, admin headaches, sending invoices, chasing down payments, and fairly pricing services are major struggles for all freelancers but for women in particular…We’re aiming to build the next-generation career platform for talent and help [women] upscale and network,” Yevin said.

In addition to its focus on women and non-binary creatives, InPink also aims to address other DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) needs with a feature called “Diversity” tags, which filters creators based on specific diversity criteria: Asian, Black, Indigenous, Hispanic/Latina, Queer, and POC.

InPink has grown to over 3,000 users and has facilitated several dream gigs for people on the platform, including Leanne Bowes (bassist) and Constance Antoinette (guitarist), who work with Demi Lovato. Moa Munoz , meanwhile, secured the bass player position for pop star Olivia Rodrigo.

The company has processed $300,000 in transactions to date.

Looking ahead, InPink continues to develop new features, such as two AI-powered tools: a fair pay scale that analyzes market rates to determine fair compensation for female creatives and a matching tool that will help companies discover talent more efficiently.

The fair pay scale is particularly notable as female musicians are still being underpaid or don’t know how much to charge for their services. As cited by a study from the Recording Academy , about 18% of respondents who identify as performers or music creators earned less than $40,000 a year in 2019. More broadly, women freelancers reportedly charge 47% less than men on online marketplaces.

Yevin explained that InPink’s fair pay feature will recommend how much users should charge based on “location, the service, and the scope of the project.” The AI will pull from “diverse” sources to “make sure that [the price] is as accurate as possible,” Yevin said, yet declined to share further as it is still in the early stages of development.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming matching tool helps job seekers discover projects that best suit their skills and interests. The AI also analyzes past performance to make optimal matches for companies.

“In the future, it’s going to be more of an AI prompt, so you can prompt what you are looking for and get what you need in a quicker way,” Yevin added.

The AI features are expected to launch in early 2025 or sooner.

Other ideas on the product roadmap include a paid Pro subscription, which will be available to higher-level talent who have worked with notable names. The company is also looking to expand beyond the music industry and offer its services to adjacent sectors in entertainment, such as sports and live events. Yevin said InPink is already working with one sports client, Angel City Football Club (the LA-based women’s soccer league), to help them hire talent for pre-shows.

“We’re already seeing the potential with other industries,” Yevin said. “We see InPink transforming the future of work for music, entertainment, and beyond and making it more flexible and equitable in the process.”

Gritty in Pink has raised over $500,000 from Alternative Wealth Partners, Gaingels, LiveNation, Long Beach Accelerator, and angel investors. The company is set to close a $1 million pre-seed round soon and was recently accepted into the Berkeley SkyDeck incubator.
