Hoping for a bit of help. We are interested in visiting Mykonos but the resort guides I'm reading are pretty unhelpful!

Could anyone advise on the top 3/4 resorts on the island with a brief synopsis? (please!)

We are a family of 5 with some late 20's and some slightly older. We are after a busy interesting resort with lots to see but certainly not clubbing! We like good beaches.

I don't know what you mean by "busy interesting resort with lots to see but certainly not clubbing." Are you looking for an all-inclusive? Or something like you would find in Cancun? The hotels on Mykonos aren't like those, fortunately, and I don't know of any AI's apart from some at Kalo Livadi beach that cater primarily to Italian package tourists.

Properties that I would recommend include Mykonos Grand, Apollonia Resort and the Saint John Mykonos at Agios Ioannis beach; Kivotos and Santa Marina at Ornos beach ; Petasos Beach Resort & Spa, Myconian Ambassador, Nissaki and Palladium at Platis Gialos; Mykonos Blu at Psarou; and the San Giorgio at Paraga/Paradise. I wouldn't describe any of them as "busy" but all are in good, scenic locations.

For accommodations in Mykonos Town, consider the Belvedere, Theoxenia, Cavo Tagoo , Kouros and Porto Mykonos.

Sounds like you mean a resort *area* rather than a *specific resort*.

Tripadvisor staff removed this post because it did not meet Tripadvisor's forum posting guidelines with prohibiting self-promotional advertising or solicitation.

I see your other similar posts on other places like Corfu.

There are no resorts at all like Corfu. A different 'Island Scene' applies. It's not packaged hence no real resorts (European meaning, not the US one).

The 'resorts' such as they are, are just areas behind various beaches, containing the basics like some accommodation/tavernas on 1 or 2 roads. Like Ornos, Plati Gialos. The roads have a sort of ribboning development of holiday homes, and accommodation units which extends over most hillsides now.

There is not much you can say about those places, they serve the basic functions for people who want to stay near beaches, and that is it.
