Information about audience participation

Bluey’s Big Play  is friendly for all ages so the whole family can enjoy! Please note that, after the performance, audience members will be invited to participate in games of “Keepy Uppy” – one where several air filled balls (made of materials which do not include BPA, Latex or PVC) are released into the audience, and another with bubbles (made of non-stain solution). As with many children’s games, playing “Keepy Uppy” may at times become boisterous and unpredictable. If you do not wish to participate in these games, we recommend you leave the theatre after curtain call.

When Ludo first landed in L.A., he made a beeline to the neighborhood known for some of the most prestigious and groundbreaking restaurants in the city (his first apartment was on the Sunset Strip, overlooking West Hollywood). C hef Ludo Lefebvre is one of the most influential chefs in Los Angeles dining, pioneering and revolutionizing the culinary industry. After training in France for 12 years with the great masters, Ludo came to Los Angeles and was soon awarded the prestigious Mobil Travel Guide Five Star Award at two different restaurants, L’Orangerie in 1999 and 2000 and Bastide in 2006. From 2007 to 2012, with his restaurant tour “LudoBites” he became known as the “pop-up king” and has been credited with igniting the phenomenon of the pop-up restaurant and establishing its viability as a business model. Ludo is truly the last of his generation, a classically trained French chef that learned at the hands of the great masters of French cuisine: Alain Passard, Marc Meaneau, Pierre Gagnaire, and Guy Martin. He is a true protégé of the World’s Best Chefs. This training rooted deep in Ludo a culinary consciousness that will always put him alongside the true masters of the craft. In September 2010, Ludo brought fried chicken to the streets of Los Angeles by opening his food truck, known on the streets as “LudoTruck”. In October 2013, he took his fried chicken concept to the next level opening his first brick and mortar location, LudoBird, within the Staples Center, with a second location to follow at Universal City Walk, Hollywood. Both restaurants were included in the LA Times 2018 “101 Restaurants We Love” list. Additionally, Petit Trois was included in the 2019 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand. Jade Catta-Preta and Billie Lee are big happy about their U.S. tour of queer comedians during Pride

An explosion of rainbows and sunshine take over comedy stages across the country in June every year for Pride, a whole month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ self-expression filled with positivity and love for identifiers and allies alike.

Pride Month began in 1968 after the Stonewall riots, a pivotal moment for LGBTQ+ rights, but the real party started in 1999, when the month was recognized by the federal government as Gay and Lesbian Pride. Fast-forward to 2024, and Pride is celebrated around the globe, raising awareness with parades, parties, drag and, of course, comedy.

Enter: the Big Happy Tour.

The goal of L.A.-based comedians, podcasters and super-hustlers Jade Catta-Preta and Billie Lee was for the Big Happy Tour to “create an unforgettable experience through laughter and inclusivity, while uplifting and amplifying the voices of LGBTQ+ comedians.”

Lee, who is a trans activist, author of the upcoming book “Why Are You So Sensitive?” and sometimes appears on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules,” and actress, host and singer Catta-Preta, who identifies as pansexual, also learned many lessons along the road to lining up their first cross-country Pride tour. The comedic roster includes Chaunte Wayans, Joel Kim Booster, Nicky Paris, Mx Dahlia Belle, Mav Viola, Emma Willmann, Alex English, and Abe Farrelly.

On Friday, the Big Happy Tour will be officially born as America’s first national LGBTQ+ Pride Comedy Tour at the Bourbon Room in L.A. — traveling to 11 cities across the U.S.— and there really is no better way than to kick off Pride than having a night out filled with people that are, well, big happy.

How did you two come together on the idea of doing a national tour during Pride? It’s so much work in such a small window!

Jade Catta-Preta: It actually started when Billie went on the road with me for Vegas Pride. The show was at a busy club, but they didn’t advertise it as gay at all, so the audience barely reacted to anything. After the show, though, a few people came up to us and said things like, I’m not out yet, but seeing people like you talk about it makes me feel a little more comfortable, and a couple of people even cried. It was so cool to see them be so open and to get that type of reaction. I’m for all types of audiences, but how cool to have that familiarity where they can see themselves in the jokes. We started talking about a full gig, and then the tour just kind of came into fruition.

Billie Lee: I think there’s something really beautiful and powerful happening. A lot of people have ideas and say they want to do something, but it takes strong women like Jade and I to really make it happen. We’ve just been using all of our resources and constantly going and going with it.

Catta-Preta: We also have a booker, Claire Armstrong, who has helped us, and Billie has a great relationship with Out Magazine and the Advocate, so with them behind us, it’s been really good. We’re also working with OPositiv, who has been very involved, Pride.com and Equality California . We’re still looking too!

Lee: I’ve worked with Out Magazine before, and I mentioned that I wanted to do a tour, and they’ve been great. As an activist, I’m always trying to educate people, and I think with my comedy I get to educate people, but in a really funny way. Something that brings me the most joy is when a straight cisgender will come up to me after a show and be more comfortable with the trans experience because of my jokes. My intention as a comedian is to make everyone in the audience comfortable, including a straight cis man.

Catta-Preta: Mine is the opposite! I want to make everyone uncomfortable!

Bergamot Comedy Fest brings diversity, laughs and learning to ‘the industry’s backyard

It’s crazy to think that even just five years ago, some people and places would be “less enthusiastic.”

Catta-Preta: Right? It’s cool to represent in a time where people don’t feel represented, even when they really should. It’s 2024! One of my biggest things is having guilt for not knowing myself earlier, even though I had every tool and every allowance. It took such a long time to find my voice of being this Brazilian Virginian dyke. To now know who I am, it means so much to represent that and to help younger comics, sort of, get there earlier. I really like helping people feel empowered.

Lee: I think it’s really powerful that this feels like just the beginning of something that we’re making that’s really special. I envision this getting bigger and becoming a show every year for Pride. It could even possibly become more of an experience where it’s a competition show, or somewhere we can make a platform for queer comics who want to be seen, but they just don’t have the means to get out of their small town or come to L.A. and get on the stage.

What’s the learning experience you’ll keep in mind next year when producing the Big Happy Tour Round 2 together?

Catta-Preta: I think we would start a little further back with aligning bigger names from their tour schedules. I think next year, we’ll get ahead of it a little earlier. We’re going to create a full network so when we go to different places, we’ll know a bunch of comics already. There are a lot of very organized Excel sheets going on between us. We’re also going to film the whole thing, so I think when people see the footage, they’re going to feel excited and hopefully reach out to us to be part of it.

Lee: Yeah, I think it’s so important to document it on film not just so we have proof, but also, it’s something we can shop around to production companies later because it’s going to be such a beautiful experience. We also have to make sure that we’re all safe. We’re in such a crazy climate right now, and although we’re literally putting ourselves out on the front lines, being of service and making people laugh, we have to consider our safety and make sure that we are secure through this experience. So, I think documenting that is really important. I’m just so proud of it all and how it came together.

The lineups are so great too, I feel like you’re both going to have so much fun with everyone, from the comics to the crowds.

Lee: It’s such a powerful thing, what comedy can do. How healing comedy can be. In the time that we’re in right now, when it’s so crazy, I think Americans need a bunch of fun gay people that are funny running around America and making people laugh. I think that’s the medicine we need right now. I want to make America gay again.

Catta-Preta: Yeah, we just want it to be like a one-of-a-kind experience where you get to see not only one comic that you paid for, but multiple people that are all different. We have literally every letter in the LGBTQ, so wear your brightest and most sassy look, bring yourself, and bring your dad.

In a nearly two-decade career, Taylor Swift had never performed in Portugal…until this weekend.

The superstar singer brought The Eras Tour to Lisbon for back-to-back, sold-out stops at Estádio da Luz in Portugal’s capital city. It was a weekend Swift said she won’t ever forget — and she’s already committed to coming back.

Swift, long praised for an authentic connection to her die-hard fans and for expressing gratitude for those who fill her arenas, delivered a pair of shows for Lisbon that those in attendance won’t soon forget either. When the Lisbon dates went on sale last July, tickets reportedly sold out within 2.5 hours. That’s a shorter amount of time than the concert itself, which kicked off at 8:15 p.m. and continued for three hours and fifteen minutes, ending with fireworks over the outdoor arena as she capped off the Midnights era with “Karma.”

The Eras Tour has been revamped for the European leg in the wake of Swift’s latest release, The Tortured Poets Department . She debuted songs from the album on the first European dates that kicked off earlier this month in Paris before continuing on to Stockholm and then Lisbon. But she saved one of the tracks, “Fresh Out the Slammer,” for a live debut in Lisbon during the surprise songs portion of the show.

“One of my favorite things about the Eras Tour is that, for me, it feels like going back through all of my favorite memories of getting to play shows for the last nearly 20 years of my life because we’ve gone on tour for almost every album I’ve ever put out,” Swift told the audience. “My big regret was that we didn’t get to take all of those tours to all of the places where I wanted to take them. And we absolutely should have come to Portugal on every single tour. This is not a mistake I will ever be making again. We are always going to come to Lisbon.”

Part of the reason for her early committal can surely be chalked up to how the crowd responded to seeing Swift for the first time in Portugal. The screams were, at times, deafening, and she received cheers for speaking Portuguese at several points during the show. (“Muito obrigada,” she said upon taking the stage; at two other points she asked for help by summoning security for distressed fans.)

During the Folklore/Evermore era, while Swift was seated at the piano, the audience erupted with cheers and applause that carried on for more than three minutes . So much so that the lights in the venue came on and Swift seemed caught off guard by the impromptu showing of love. She planted her hands on her head and said, “Oh my god. I love you.”

PGA TOUR winner Grayson Murray passes away at 30

Grayson Murray, who won his second PGA TOUR title at this year’s Sony Open in Hawaii, passed away Saturday.

"We were devastated to learn – and are heartbroken to share – that PGA TOUR player Grayson Murray passed away this morning. I am at a loss for words,” PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan said. “The PGA TOUR is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.

“I reached out to Grayson’s parents to offer our deepest condolences, and during that conversation, they asked that we continue with tournament play,” Commissioner Monahan continued. “They were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so. As difficult as it will be, we want to respect their wishes.”

Grief counselors were made available at the venues for this week’s PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour events. Commissioner Monahan, who traveled from TOUR headquarters in Florida to the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, said he was "devastated" by the loss.

Grayson's parents, Eric and Terry Murray, said in a statement Sunday that the cause of death was suicide .

"Was Grayson loved? The answer is yes," his parents wrote. "By us, his brother Cameron, his sister Erica, all of his extended family, by his friends, by his fellow players and – it seems – by many of you who are reading this. He was loved and he will be missed."

Murray, 30, was a standout golfer from his youth. He won three consecutive Callaway Junior World Championships (2006-08) and was the top-ranked golfer in his age group. He made his first cut on the Korn Ferry Tour at age 16, becoming the second-youngest player ever to do so. After stints at Wake Forest University, East Carolina University and Arizona State University, he got the break he needed in 2016 when he was given a sponsor exemption into the Korn Ferry Tour event near his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. He finished inside the top 10 at that event, the Rex Hospital Open, which qualified him for another start. When he posted another top 10 at the BMW Charity Pro-Am, his professional career took off. He concluded his season with a victory at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship to finish second on the Korn Ferry Tour money list and earn full status on the PGA TOUR for the 2016-17 season. The win came a week before his 23rd birthday.

Murray wasted little time establishing himself on golf’s biggest stage as a rookie. He won the 2017 Barbasol Championship while still just 23 years old. His final-round 68 not only secured a one-shot victory, but also solidified a two-year exemption through the 2019 PGA TOUR season. He finished 66th in the FedExCup and earned nearly $1.5 million.

Grayson struggled for the next few seasons on the PGA TOUR. In 2023, he found his game again on the Korn Ferry Tour; he notched two victories – the Advent Health Championship in Kansas City and the Simmons Bank Open outside of Nashville – to finish fourth on that tour’s points list and earn a spot back onto the PGA TOUR for the following season.

Murray opened the 2024 season with a playoff victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He made a clutch up and down on the 72nd hole for a birdie to force a playoff. Then he sank a 40-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to defeat Byeong Hun An and Keegan Bradley. He reached a career-high 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking after that victory.
