Admire the iconic Great Wall of China

Feel the enormity of China's Great Wall, stretching as far as the eye can see through luscious green valleys. With some fragments built nearly 3000 years ago, the historical significance of this fortification is not to be missed. Tackle just a small length of this 21,000-kilometer UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wander through Angkor Wat

Take a journey to the world's largest religious monument and watch the sunrise onto the stillness of the Angkor Wat temple complex. The crumbling mosey portions of the Hindu turned Buddhist structures hold an eerie beauty that will stir you to the very core.

Enjoy some quality 'Me' time in Thailand

Land of smiles, cheap cocktails and expert massages, a trip to Thailand is a chance to unwind. Spend days floating in the Gulf of Thailand and roaming through shopping markets, interrupted only by fragrant Panang curries and fresh coconuts to cool you down.

Sail Halong Bay

Climb aboard a traditional wooden boat and take in the beauty of Vietnam's sea of limestone islands. The dramatic setting of Halong Bay will dazzle as you drift slowly around the emerald waters past many families that call the water home. An essential part of Asia travel packages, it has been named one of the new natural wonders of the world.

Stroll down the busy streets of Tokyo

Home to almost 14-million, the streets of Tokyo buzz with an energy that is hard to resist. Navigate through the swarm of pedestrians at Shibuya Crossing and admire elaborate dress sense in Harajuku. Even those called by empty mountains will find joy in the scenes of Japan's capital.

Our top 5 things to do in Asia

This enormous content offers such a diverse banquet of experiences it can be hard to know where to begin. From the busy streets of Tokyo to the world's largest religious site found in Cambodia, we'll share the very best on our Asia vacation packages.

Temple of Heaven

The aptly named Temple of Heaven is a scene straight out of a mythical religious artwork. Stare up at the ceilings in the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests where a patchwork of color honors the seasons of the year. With construction finishing in the year 1420, this site holds limitless cultural significance.

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum

Pay tribute to the victims of Cambodia's brutal genocide that saw a quarter of its population lost in the early 1970's. The photos of those lost haunt the walls of Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, housed in a building that was once a center for prison and interrogation.

Tokyo National Museum

Take an artistic journey along the Silk Road to ancient and medieval days gone by at Tokyo National Museum, the 6th largest art museum in the world. Hosting many of Japan's national treasures and religious artworks with immense cultural significance, allow a whole day to soak up all this monument has to offer.

Best museums in Asia

A tapestry of history, art and modern culture are found peppered across this continent in its endless list of museums. These are just some of the places we'll visit on our Asia escorted tours.

With almost a thousand years of history held in a roll of seaweed, rice and raw fish, don't miss this important part of Japanese culture. Though it's now readily available in most parts of the world, you will find something special about the sushi experience in its homeland.

Pho has traveled a long way since it originated in the Nam Định province of Vietnam. Slurp down many bowls from lively street vendors and modern cafes, enjoying variations of the hot rice noodle broth covered in herbs. The country of Vietnam summed up in one soupy dish.

Peking Duck

Taste the Imperial era in slices of seasoned crispy skin duck. Best wrapped in thin pancakes with hoisin sauce and greens, this Chinese specialty is delicious whether consumed in a busy street market or upmarket restaurant.

Best food in Asia

It's hard to compete with the delicious fragrant dishes that originate across the expanses of Asia. With chopsticks in hand, we'll uncover the very best and learn of the many rituals and traditions woven into this continent's culinary banquet.

What to pack for Asia

People packing for a tour

Pack for sustainable travel

Consider your environmental impact when you next take a trip and go single-use-plastic-free by packing a reusable water bottle, a steel straw, your own shopping bags and refillable toiletry bottles.

Charcoal tablets

Many visit Asia armed with a pharmacy of pills for the chance of illness. Prevention is always better than cure; take a natural daily supplement such as charcoal to ensure nasties are evacuated from your system as quickly as possible.

Cool full-length clothes

Many parts of Asia boast a sunny tropical climate that's perfect for days flopped by a pool or sea. When exploring, it can be somewhat uncomfortable. Pack light, full-length clothes so you can respectfully visit religious sites without sweltering.

Hand sanitizer

During your time in Asia, you might not always have access to soap and water to wash up before eating. Keep hand sanitizer available for clean hands and a happy stomach.

Insect Repellent

A bug spray will be your best protection against mosquitos and any other creepy crawlies that call Asia home. Pack a bottle to avoid unnecessary itch or illness.

Water purification devices

The purification of water has come a long way in recent years. Make your way to a specialist travel shop to discuss bottles, gadgets and tablets that will ensure you stay hydrated without falling ill.

Asia - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

It can often seem difficult to know where to start when considering holidays in Asia. Don’t let the gigantic size of Asia intimidate you. With enough research and some careful planning, you can see the best that Asia has to offer. Take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, conquer the Great Wall of China , bask in the glory of the Taj Mahal or wander through the bright lights during a night out in Bangkok .

Travel Highlights

 • Skip the souvenir shops and peruse some of the largest markets in the world. From street food to artisanal goods, Asia’s markets have it all like the Chatuchak market in Bangkok , which is one of the world’s largest weekend markets or the Sukawati art market in Bali . Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo offers some of the freshest sushi you’ll ever taste.
 • Explore your spirituality by practising yoga and meditation in Varanasi along the Ganges river or visit a Buddhist monastery in Tibet.
 • Stroll through the rice terraces of blissful Bali .
 • Explore Northern Thailand, Central Laos or Northern Vietnam on two wheelers with the wind in your hair.
 • Get glitzy in Almaty , Kazakhstan’s bustling bars, sophisticated shopping malls and mesmerising museums.
 • Experience an interesting mix of Catholic and indigenous tradition during the Philippines biggest mardis gras: Ati-Atihan festival in Kalibo which takes place on Shrove Tuesday of the Christian calendar.
 • Embark on one of the longest train journeys in the world: the Trans-Asian Railway through China , Korea, Mongolia , Russia and Kazakhstan .

Travel Tips

 • Whatever your mode of transport - whether it’s a tuk tuk or a taxi - always ask a local how much it should be beforehand and agree on a price before you take the ride.
 • Manners matter. In Thailand, food is often served with a fork and a spoon. The fork is only used to place food on the spoon and it is often seen as rude to put the fork in your mouth.
 • Always keep toilet paper or tissues with you, and hand sanitizer.
 • Perfect planning is never possible, and having some gaps in your schedule means you can take locals up on their superior suggestions for a day sightseeing.
 • While most countries in Asia use different currencies, having some spare USD will always be helpful. Some accommodations will charge in USD, for example.
 • A bout of stomach flu is normal for first time travellers in Asia. Stick to busy restaurants or food stalls where the locals go and you’ll be fine.
 • Watch what you wear. Most cultures are very accepting of visitors and their unusual get-up. But being respectful of the local culture will go a long way. In India, for example, covering arms and legs will be appreciated, and removing shoes before entering someone’s home will make you a few extra friends.

Tours in Asia - Questions and Answers

Asia is a relatively large continent, so there are a wide variety of destinations to explore. Therefore, if you are planning a multi-country trip to Asia , the first thing you need to prepare is the list of countries you are interested in along with your starting and ending points. You would also need to decide on the best time for your trip depending on seasonal variations that affect each country.

After finalizing when and where to travel in Asia, you should make arrangements for all the necessary travel documents. These would include visas, insurances, Covid-19 test reports, vaccine cards, and so on.

Asia has more than enough destinations to meet every traveler’s needs and desires. If you are into adventure, look no further than the mighty Himalayas. Go on an exhilarating hike to the base camp of Mount Everest , the tallest mountain in the world, or head for the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh instead. Thailand, with its blend of dazzling nightlife, rich history, and striking monuments, is the perfect destination not just for those who wish to let their hair down but also for travelers looking forward to being part of a memorable cultural experience.

Go on a tour to Cambodia , home to the monumental Angkor Wat, if you are into off-the-beaten-path destinations, or choose a Japan tour if you wish to discover how traditions and modernity can be seamlessly blended. The Maldives, with its numerous islands and beaches, is sure to provide you with countless opportunities to kick back on sandy stretches, swim in turquoise waters, and go island-hopping, while the rainforests of Malaysia and Indonesia are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts.

There are several factors that determine the amount of money you will spend during your Asia tour. These include the countries you wish to visit, the length of your trip, the type of tour you have chosen (group, private, luxury and budget) as well as other expenses like insurance, visas, and transportation.

Laos is probably the cheapest destination in Asia, with an average daily expense of USD 23 per person. India is yet another budget-friendly destination in the region when it comes to foreigners. Expect to spend between USD 35 to USD 40 per person, per day if you are a mid-range traveler. The average daily expense in Cambodia is slightly higher, at USD 50 per person. Japan and Singapore, on the other hand, are some of the most expensive destinations on the planet. On average, travelers should expect to shell out USD 130 dollars per person, per day while in these countries.

English is a widely spoken language in Asia, which means that you would not have much difficulty conversing with locals during your trip. Singapore ranks the highest in terms of its proficiency in the English language. The Philippines comes second, followed by Malaysia. Other countries where you will not face much trouble if you can speak English are South Korea, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

You will find that English is part of life of a section of the population in all these countries. They have road signs in English (along with those in their native languages) as well as English newspapers. Public announcements are often translated into English in these countries, and it is not difficult to come across store banners and product labels written in the language. In addition to all this, locals are also accustomed to tourists, which means they can at least carry out basic conversations in the language.

However, please keep in mind that it is the urban population in the continent that has had the most exposure to the language and is better at communicating in it. The more you travel to the countryside, the fewer English speakers you will meet.

A seven-day Asia trip can give you a taste of the general highlights of two countries at most. Go for destinations in the same region, like Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, if you are planning a week-long vacation to save time. A two-week trip gives you the opportunity to carry out an in-depth exploration of three countries. If you want to cast your net further and cover more ground, then a month-long sojourn would be ideal. This duration is enough to cover everything from the futuristic Tokyo to the backwaters of Kerala and the vast, arid landscapes of Kazakhstan.

Ideally, we suggest that you spend around three weeks in the continent if you wish to get under the skin of its cultures and people.

Depending on the region you wish to cover, you can carry out an Asia tour at any time of year.

Countries like Cambodia and Sri Lanka experience warm and sunny weather between January and March, making them perfect for beach stays and island hopping. From April to August, Thailand and Vietnam are the best places to visit as both these countries experience balmy tropical weather accompanied by a gentle sea breeze.

The period between September and December, on the other hand, marks the transition from monsoon to winter in many Asian countries. Therefore, this would be the best time to engage in activities like trekking in Nepal or sightseeing in India.

Asia does not lack destinations that are pleasing to the eye. Consequently, it is hard to determine which country is the prettiest. If you are into island getaways, the stunning blue waters and picturesque sandy beaches of the Maldives are sure to impress you. The Himalayan region of India, Nepal, and Bhutan will definitely take your breath away with its expansive scenery of towering cliffs that include some of the highest mountains in the world. Culture vultures will have a field day in historic locations throughout the Indian subcontinent as well as Southeast Asia, while Japan impresses tech geeks with its futuristic, neon-drenched cities.

The best time to visit Asia varies by region due to the continent's diverse climates and seasons, though April to early June and December to February offer the best conditions in most destinations.

For Northern Asia, April to early June are the best months to avoid the tropical rains. This window is perfect for exploring Japan, China, and South Korea. For South and Southeast Asia, the best months are December through February, when monsoons have ended and temperatures are comfortable. Places like India, Thailand, and Vietnam are excellent to visit during this time of the year.

While these are some of the best months, each season has its own charm and advantages. Whether traveling as a family to the Maldives in December or touring Northern Vietnam in June, we can help you find the right month for your trip.

From the traditional cities of Japan to the beaches of Bali, the ancient history in India to the temples of Cambodia, here are a few of the best places to visit in Asia :

 • Tokyo, Japan: Both modern and futuristic, Tokyo is a thrilling city filled with iridescent light shows and hidden neighborhoods blanketed in quiet, where local cooks are as celebrated as celebrity chefs, and shopping is as exciting as visiting historic temples.

 • Hanoi, Vietnam: Surprisingly glamorous and endlessly charming, Hanoi is a cultural treasure brimming with museums and temples, shrines and restaurants, where a traditional water puppet show can mesmerize you as much as the French influence in the Old Quarter.

 • Sample traditional recipes during private cooking classes demonstrating the differences between national, regional, and hyper-local flavors
 • Cruise along the different waters around the continent, from exceptional seas decorated with karsts to the rushing waters of the Mekong River

Your travel specialist and local guides offer more guidance on ways to stay safe and comfortable for a stress-free Asia trip.

The best Asia itinerary will focus on your preferences and travel goals. You may prefer a week on the beach in Bali with a trip into the highlands, or you might want to travel through the Nepalese countryside.

People drinking, having fun and smiling in Asia

Welcome to Asia, the most populous, energetic and contradictory continent on earth.

Across one vast landmass you will find almost everything. Sci-fi skyscrapers in Japan , whitewashed mountain monasteries, honking moped shoals and silent Taoist temples, neon cityscapes and saffron-clad monks bent in prayer. If you’ve come for the familiar, you’re in for a surprise. You can munch deep-fried grasshoppers with white pepper in Thailand. Ride across the Mongolian tundra. Explore the rice paddy fields in Bali. Swim with Burmese sea-gypsies. You will begin to understand - this place is where ordinary goes to die.

What people love about South East Asia Tours

good organized tour with lots of places to visit
This was my first time ever travelling without family and it was amazing! One of the best months of my life. Our CEO Tong was brilliant and full of knowledge about where we were going and what we would be doing. He made sure to have enough time for anyone and helped in anyway he could to make things run smoothly for everyone on tour including myself. If you go on this tour, make sure you ask for Tong or (Phanet Tep) as your CEO!

After considering local prices, accessibility and the variety of attractions in each destination, along with traveler feedback, U.S. News ranked the best places to visit in Asia. Contribute to next year's list by casting your vote below.

Sagarmatha National Park

Railay beach, guilin and lijiang river national park.

If your dream vacation involves posting up on a postcard-worthy beach, the Maldives is for you. This far-flung destination, which is located about 370 miles from civilization in the Indian Ocean, is made up of more than 1,100 idyllic islands (roughly 200 of which are inhabited). The Maldives feature lush tropical landscapes, unparalleled white sand beaches, crystal-clear ocean waters and coral reefs that prompt extensive exploration. The best way to experience this slice of paradise? Stay in one of many overwater bungalows , of course.

Tokyo is as fast-paced as cities come – it's the most populated city in the world, after all. Japan's capital features neon-lit skyscrapers and crowded streets that novice visitors may find dizzying, but its one-of-a-kind offerings can't be missed. Spend days touring quirky museums, exploring fascinating architecture or visiting Odaiba for its premier shopping scene. Or, take in some quieter, more peaceful moments at a holy site like the Meiji Shrine or Sensoji Temple. Tokyo's unrivaled gastronomic landscape (think: sushi, ramen, sky-high cocktail bars and more Michelin darlings than you could hope to visit) also makes it a bucket list destination for foodies.

Phuket, Thailand's elongated beaches and cerulean waters embody a paradise that few other Asian destinations can rival. Besides swimming and relaxing on the beach, visitors can take traditional, wooden longtail boat tours to James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay to see the surreal limestone rock formations that rise from the sea. The towering Big Buddha statue is also a top attraction, while Phuket's buzzing beach clubs and nightlife options hold appeal for those looking to let loose. What's more, like most destinations in Thailand, travelers can find relatively affordable lodging options here.

This Nepalese national park is famous for housing the behemoth that is Mount Everest, the highest point on earth, and promises a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. However, it is important to know that Sagarmatha is not just Everest. The UNESCO-listed park also offers several other sky-high Himalayan peaks, as well as sweeping valleys, scenic glaciers, deep gorges and incredible wildlife, including snow leopards and red pandas. Just note, seeing the park's top attractions typically requires at least two weeks of trekking, and due to Sagarmatha's high elevation and rocky, steep terrain, a trip here isn't for the faint of heart.

A British colony until 1997, Hong Kong's strong Western influence sets it apart from China's mainland metropolises. Beyond Hong Kong's sleek, towering skyscrapers (best admired from Victoria Peak), visitors can find natural and cultural gems on the more than 250 outlying islands, such as Lantau Island, or shop the city's bustling street markets. Dim sum is a must, but Hong Kong's robust dining scene also offers everything from street food to Michelin-starred fine dining. And when the sun goes down, watch the Symphony of Lights laser show dazzle the skyline along Victoria Harbor.

Tucked among lush mountains in northwest Thailand, Chiang Mai offers a sized-down version of Bangkok's buzz paired with a tranquil culture and natural beauty. Your urban itinerary should include tuk-tuk rides, tours of breathtaking temples like Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara and Wat Phra Singh, trips to night markets and a cooking class to try your hand at pad Thai. Then, step outside of the city walls to visit an ethical elephant sanctuary or two and a wander through beautiful Doi Suthep-Pui National Park.

History lovers and Instagrammers alike will revel in the sites of Kyoto. The city, which used to be Japan's capital until imperial times, is awash with centuries-old shrines and temples, including the gilded Kinkakuji and Fushimi Inari Taisha, a shrine that dates back to A.D. 711. In addition to saving time for religious sites, be sure to visit the famous Philosopher's Path, preferably during cherry blossom season, and the mystical Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. When hunger strikes, treat yourself to kaiseki: a traditional multicourse meal native to Japan. For another essential Japanese experience, stay at one of the many ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) in Kyoto.

From the moment you touchdown at Singapore Changi Airport (a tourist destination in itself), Singapore shows off its futuristic embellishment. But this Southeast Asia jewel is also unique for its amalgamation of cultures. This fusion takes form in the city's colorful neighborhoods, eclectic culinary scene and overall modern atmosphere. After shopping on flashy Orchard Road and chowing down in cultural enclaves like Little India or Chinatown, head downtown to take in the towering skyscrapers from Merlion Park, the Singapore Flyer or the sky-high Gardens by the Bay.

The island nation of Sri Lanka, located off the southern tip of India, boasts rainforests, beaches and ruins without the tourist crowds of other popular Asian destinations. Despite its small footprint, Sri Lanka features 26 national parks, many of which are ideal for a safari excursion to encounter elephants, leopards and sloth bears. Meanwhile, ancient sites like Sigiriya, a 600-foot-high fortress, and the temples of Polonnaruwa hold their own appeal, and the palm-fringed golden beaches that line the shores are never too far away for those seeking a more laid-back vacation.

Hanoi is perfect for first-time Vietnam visitors, with tranquil lakes offsetting its fast-paced bustle and darting motorbikes. The country's capital offers plenty in the way of history, culture, shopping, dining and natural splendor. Start your day off with a Vietnamese coffee, then head to Hanoi's central Old Quarter for a stroll through the many narrow, colorful streets and a taste of mouthwatering street food. After that, check out one of the city's many temples, including the ancient Temple of Literature, which dates back to the 11th century, or head to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a must-visit for history buffs.

Bali's natural beauty is so profound, travelers have been known to refer to the Indonesian destination as "heaven on Earth." Here, lush rainforests, picturesque mountains, sweeping valleys and scenic beaches all sit side by side. You'll also find a handful of serene temples in this Southeast Asia hot spot, including Uluwatu and Tanah Lot temples – both excellent places to catch a sunset. And no first-time trip to Bali would be complete without on a visit to Ubud, Bali's cultural capital and home of the region's famous rice terraces.

Whether you visit in spring (for cherry blossoms), summer (for climbing), autumn (for foliage) or winter (for nearby ski resorts), Japan's highest peak and imposing attraction is sure to capture your attention. Mount Fuji lies about 60 miles southwest of Tokyo, perfect for a daytrip from the city or a glimpse from a train ride, but this active volcano is also worthy of deeper exploration. Base yourself in the Fuji Five Lakes area to enjoy picture-perfect views at Arakurayama Sengen Park or from one of Lake Kawaguchiko's onsens (hot springs), and don't leave without sampling local hoto noodles.

If you only have time to go to one beach in Thailand, make it Railay Beach, one of the world's most beautiful beaches . Located in the country's Krabi province, Railay Beach features glistening white sands and is surrounded by limestone rock formations (covered in leafy green vegetation) that jut out from the sea. If you're feeling adventurous, explore the area's natural wonders with a rock climbing excursion or go for a nighttime kayak trip to see bioluminescent plankton. As if this beach destination couldn't get more alluring, you're only able to reach it by boat. Daytrips from nearby Ao Nang are popular among travelers.

Siem Reap is the home of Angkor Wat, an ornate Buddhist temple built in the 12th century that is believed to be the largest religious monument in the world. The impressive landmark is just one of many must-sees within Cambodia's UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor. The complex also includes the equally detailed Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm Temple. Because of the immense popularity of Angkor (the site receives millions of visitors per year), you may want to travel during a shoulder month like March or November to avoid bumping elbows with fellow travelers.

Travel to the capital of Indian state Rajasthan to marvel at the "Pink City's" incredible architecture. Hawa Mahal, a pink sandstone palace that was modeled after Hindu god Krishna's crown, is Jaipur's biggest claim to fame. The property's astounding 953 honeycomb-patterned windows allowed the original ladies of the royal family to view the comings and goings of the Indian city without being seen. Other structures worth seeing are the Jaigarh Fort, Panna Meena ka Kund and Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that displays larger-than-life astronomical instruments.

Thailand's capital city is filled to the brim with eye-catching Hindu sites, nonstop nightlife and incredible Thai cuisine. Sacred sites like Wat Arun and Wat Pho are pockets of calm amidst Bangkok's skyscrapers. Shoppers can enjoy the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the world's largest street markets, or venture to one of the floating markets located outside the city. While in Bangkok, grab as much grub as possible from the street stalls, and at night, you won't want to miss the lofty views from one of the many rooftop bars.

This national park is so loved and respected, its image is featured on China's paper currency. Guilin and Lijiang River National Park is located in the Guangxi region in the southeastern part of China. The Lijiang River runs about 50 miles from Guilin to Yangshuo, passing stunning landscapes and towering green karsts (eroded limestone) along the way. The best way to take in the otherworldly scenery is by boat cruise, though you may want to splurge on a luxury option since the trip can take up to five hours. Tourists who prefer to travel on their own time can also hike or bike along the river.

About Dua Lipa

3x GRAMMY and 7x BRIT Award-winning global pop powerhouse Dua Lipa continues to be one of pop music’s leading forces with the release of her third album, Radical Optimism. Upon release, the album went straight to No. 1 in 11 countries, including the UK where it became the biggest album debut from a UK artist in 2024 and garnered the highest week one sales from a UK female artist since 2021. In the US, the album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking Dua’s biggest sales week yet. The New York Times named it a Critic’s Pick and hailed it as “an album of nonstop ear candy,” along with Variety, who declared it “a joyous blast of pop savvy,” The New Yorker, who praised, “the instrumentation is a gleaming and impenetrable expanse, and the main attraction is Lipa,” and Vogue, who raved it is “a summery, self-assured slice of pop brilliance…[and] catchy as hell.”

Following its release in 2020, Dua's certified platinum sophomore album Future Nostalgia became the longest running top 10 album by a female artist on the Billboard 200 in 2021. The GRAMMY Award-winning album spawned multiple worldwide hit singles, with “Levitating” earning certified diamond status and the title of Billboard’s No. 1 Hot 100 Song of 2021.

Dua has found superstar status on stage and off, thanks to her many passions outside of music. 2022 saw Dua launch Service95, a global style, culture and society editorial platform that now comprises a weekly newsletter, the Service95 book club and the Dua Lipa: At Your Service podcast, which has been lauded by The Sunday Times and The Guardian and was named one of the Best Podcasts of 2022 by Spotify. Having graced every major fashion magazine worldwide from Vogue and Elle to W and Dazed, Dua added "designer" to her resume in 2023 when she co-designed Versace's "La Vacanza" collection alongside Donatella Versace herself, which Vogue deemed "the hottest collaboration of the summer."

Dua’s eponymous 2017 debut album is certified platinum, spawned six platinum tracks, and made her the first female artist in BRIT Awards history to pick up five nominations in a single year. Dua has a total of 10 GRAMMY nominations, with three wins for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording. Additionally, she earned nominations at the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards for her hit song “Dance The Night” from the box office sensation Barbie. Across platforms globally, she has amassed over 42 billion streams and holds the record for being the first female artist to have two albums with over 10 billion streams each on Spotify.

Asia is the largest continent on the planet, with an unrivaled series of coastlines, landscapes that take your breath away, and an abundance of timeless treasures reminding tourists of paradise well-preserved. But in between the lush natural estate holding must-see destinations, tourist traps abound. A member of an online travel community asks which places are a must-see in Southeast Asia and what traps to avoid, and these are the most insightful responses.

A developing country relishing in increased tourism, especially to locations such as Bali, Indonesia is another country to consider as your choice for working abroad. It is an affordable place to live, and those looking to work abroad in Indonesia can even save money if they choose or use it to explore the many historical sites, tropical beaches, and towering volcanoes.

1. Bali, Indonesia

Bali, according to a forum member, is a top Southeast Asia destination for its lush rice terrace, turquoise beaches, and other "touristy stuff, including the off-the-beaten-track experiences that make for the perfect adventure. Possible traps? Keep your eyes up for tout and scam," someone advises.

A traditional Cambodian temple, Angkor Wat has attracted large numbers of tourists from all over the world. However, the crowds have proven to be unsustainable, leading to water shortages – this has resulted into locals tapping into groundwater supplies which has lowered the water table. Consequently, the temple itself has been damaged and is at further risk of collapse.

2. Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Angkor Wat, an ancient temple complex rich in primarily forgotten history, is one of the travel treasures you can visit in Southeast Asia, someone suggests. A second traveler wants you to get lost in the magical estate of Phnom Pehn and Siem Riep while not ignoring Ankor Wat dress code, as that could get you in trouble with the ultra-religious folks.

Vietnam has long since been known as an affordable vacation destination, and for good reason. The cities are bustling and bursting with culture, and the scenic areas are absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful. Just about everything is available at low prices, and you'll be able to have an awesome holiday on a budget.

3. Hanoi, Vietnam

Vietnam is famous for its old quarter winding streets, cultural vibrancy, and delicious foods, but a globetrotter wants you to visit the mountains of Hanoi for some spectacular sceneries that draw every jaw. You can take a two-day motorbike trip through Hanoi to soak in its splendor, "but be careful when on the roads. The conditions are awful, and it could be dangerous for someone used to driving Western-style. The intersections have no road signs, and that makes accidents very common," he reiterates.

A popular pick for many expats, Thailand is incredibly affordable to work and live in. Many job opportunities are available and enticingly stable, so in between working, expats can savor adventuring, socializing, and experiencing the culturally rich country of Thailand. With the low cost of living in Thailand, expats can save money or use their excess funds to join in on unique tours of ancient cities, floating markets, breathtaking temples, and picturesque beaches.

4. Chiang Mai, Thailand

While Thai mountains do not hold the spectacular grip of Vietnam's pinnacles, Chaing Mai's beautiful temples and bursting markets promise the cultural immersion of a lifetime, one holidaymaker explains. "It's the perfect place for exploring the region," someone else explains, adding that you plan your visit during peak hours as popular attractions in Thailand can be overcrowded.

If you're looking for a destination hyped on relaxation and sports, an experienced voyager implores you to buy a ticket to Boracay. Tourist traps? Souvenirs can be overpriced, and learning to bargain is non-negotiable.

From the majestic peaks of the Himalayas to the serene temples of Angkor Wat, Asia is all about stunning landscapes, interesting cultures, and unique experiences that inspire wanderlust. The continent’s rich history, vibrant traditions, and people keep curious travellers engaged, and they keep coming back for more. Whether to seek spiritual enlightenment in ancient temples, to immerse oneself in the hustle and bustle of vibrant markets, or simply marvel at the natural wonders, one must explore Asia. Here are 9 most beautiful photos from Asia that inspire travel.

Halong Bay, Vietnam

Halong Bay, located in northeastern Vietnam, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped with rainforests. These karst formations create a dramatic seascape that can be explored by boat, offering opportunities for kayaking, cave exploration, and visits to floating fishing villages.

Western Ghats, India

The Western Ghats is a testament to nature's beauty and biodiversity. The Ghats are punctuated with gorgeous waterfalls, serene rivers, and mist-laden peaks that offer breathtaking vistas. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a sanctuary for an astonishing array of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to the region.

Kashmir, India

Kashmir, often referred to as Paradise on Earth , is a place of stunning natural beauty. This region boasts lush green valleys surrounded by the majestic Himalayas, their snow-capped peaks reflecting in the crystal-clear waters of pristine lakes like Dal and Wular. The meadows of Gulmarg and Pahalgam, blanketed with vibrant flowers in spring and covered with a serene white sheet of snow in winter, offer picturesque views that seem straight out of a fairy tale.

Bali, Indonesia

Bali, often referred to as the Island of the Gods , is renowned for its stunning beaches, lush rice terraces, and vibrant cultural scene. Bali's diverse landscape includes volcanic mountains, pristine jungles, and serene lakes, making it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

Tianzi Mountain, China

Tianzi Mountain, located in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China’s Hunan Province, is a natural wonder that mesmerises with its surreal and ethereal beauty. The landscape is characterised by towering sandstone pillars that rise dramatically from the earth, creating a fantastical world that seems almost otherworldly. Often shrouded in mist, these pillars appear to float above the clouds, giving an impression of a mystical, floating mountain range.

Inle Lake, Myanmar

Inle Lake, nestled in the Shan Hills of Myanmar, is a serene and picturesque water body that will leave you speechless with its beauty. Floating gardens, meticulously cultivated by local farmers, dot the lake with vibrant patches of greenery, while leg-rowing fishermen, are a unique sight to see.

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Angkor Wat, located in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is the largest religious monument in the world. Originally constructed in the early 12th century as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, it was later transformed into a Buddhist temple. The complex features a massive moat, grand entrances, and intricately carved bas-reliefs depicting Hindu epics. Angkor Wat is best experienced at sunrise.

Petra, Jordan

Petra is also known as the Rose City due to the colour of the stone from which it is carved. This ancient city, once a thriving trading hub, is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. The Treasury (Al-Khazneh), viewed at the end of the narrow Siq gorge, is Petra's most iconic structure.

Namche Bazaar, Nepal

Namche Bazaar is the gateway to the Everest region. This picturesque town is nestled amidst the towering peaks of the Himalayas in Nepal. The town itself is a bustling hub of activity, with colourful prayer flags fluttering in the mountain breeze and traditional Nepalese architecture adding to its quaint appeal. The views of the surrounding peaks, including the iconic Mount Everest, are simply breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset when the golden hues bathe the landscape in a warm glow.
