indian dinner cruise bangkok

  • StevenY6036FJ 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles One of the most memorable experiences in Bangkok. MUST DO List. I mean where to begin. The best part about our Bangkok "things to do" list to be honest. The hospitality of this 2-2.30 hours homely boat ride was phenomenal. The cruise manager, Japnam, made us all feel like it was our own boat itself. He was extremely helpful with responding to our messages, phone call enquiries and follow ups plus we had the best time singing and dancing our hearts out on the boat.Super entertaining by both the manager and the singers. The Indian fusion live singing and performances by Veera was spectacular. We seriously wanted to get up and dance right away from the upbeat Tol (Indian drum like instrument) played by Veera the singer. We never knew we could even get half this desi feeling in Thailand but yeah we ended up getting it with this dinner cruise. The food was also quite tasty and really gave us the feeling to India's home cooked meals, quite authentic. Apart from that, the view from the boat is beautiful along the scenic Chaopraya river. To conclude, we have been to a lot of dinner cruise boats but if you really want the authentic Indian touch with its best hospitality and Bollywood live entertainment then it's hard to miss this. Thanks¹ Japnam (boat manager) and his team for making us feel like in India while we are in Bangkok. We will definitely do this again and hopefully soon. Thanks a lot from all of us (me and my international friends). See you all soon again. Read more Written 30 December 2019
  • lorilijacobs 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Awesome Singer & Bangara dancing Unbelievable fun! We were a group of 10 adults from Australia who like Indian food. This smorgasbord meant we all ate too much. We could order drinks from the bar for reasonable prices (for Bangkok). Amazing lady started off the entertainment by singing Hindi songs and later her 25 year old son began singing in English. "Hotel California" was my favourite. His voice is awesome. The bangara dance he did with his brother was a amazing. Thank you also to Manish who recommended us to go there. He has an Indian restaurant right outside Chatrium Riverside Hotel where we were staying. Read more Written 3 October 2019
  • BritishTraveller123 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Disappointing On the face of it this was potentially a very good cruise and we may just have been unlucky. To begin with the positives, all the staff were friendly and welcoming, the boat wasn't crowded and the sights stunning. There was good live music, however the sound was so loud we both came away with headaches. The food tasted good, however the following morning we both had very bad stomach upsets, which we can only attribute to teh food we ate on this cruise. Read more Written 1 October 2019

  • Zeeshan Z 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Huge decline in quality in every aspect We took the cruise for the 4rth time last weekend and booked for a birthday party for our son. The manager was friendly and charming as usual but that was the only positive about our experience. The food quality has dramatically been declining since our first time, so much so that my friends young daughter fell ill due to the undercooked chicken. The daal was extremely runny and even looked uninviting. The entertainment was good until we made a request for a song that our son liked and we were denied with a sarcastic remark made by the DJ, which was very distasteful. The whole point of writing such a long review is to let 'Nikita' know that she has a good opportunity to cater not only to the visitors but also expats living in Bangkok. She needs to tell her staff a thing or two about the hospitality business. When confronted we were told that other guests complained about the lack of space due to our celebration, we have videos to prove that our celebration made their cruise experience an unforgettable one. Please clean up your act and don't blame the customers!!! Read more Written 1 July 2019
  • piyushppatil 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Not a good experience The ship as such is very small. There were only about 5 tables in total out of which only 2 were occupied the day i took it. VIEW ALL DINNER CRUISES

Experience the beauty of the city and the river at night on an evening dinner cruise down the Chao Phraya river , also known as the “River of Kings”.

Dine, drink and dance aboard an antique, refurbished rice barge on the two and a half hour cruise. The wooden barge gently floats down the Chao Phraya river at a sedate pace while beautiful sights go by, giving you the opportunity to see Bangkok’s riverside landmarks in a relaxed ambiance.

Enjoy a wide choice of both Indian and Thai dishes with unplugged live music performed by a modern style Indian singer. The relaxed ambiance and cool river breeze provide a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Indian and Thai buffet dinner

On the ARC Indian dinner cruise you will have the chance to sample dishes from both Indian and Thai cuisine. The buffet dinner offers a wide variety of tasty vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes and comes with Indian Masala tea and a choice of soft drinks, juices and a large selection of wines and spirits.

Leave some room for Indian desserts like Gulab Jamun, Moong Daal Halwa and fresh fruits after dinner.

Click here to see the menu .

Refurbished rice barge

The dinner cruise takes you along the Chao Phraya river on a beautifully refurbished rage barge. Teak wood barges were used in gone by days to transport rice from Central and North Thailand down the Chao Phraya river to the capital.

The barge seats just 50 people, which lends the cruise a more intimate ambiance than the large boats.

Indoor and outdoor deck

The boat has two decks. The downstairs indoor deck is air-conditioned and seats 20 people. The open air deck upstairs seating 30 people is covered and provides the best views of the riverside scenery.

Dining table aboard the dinner cruise barge overlooking the Chao Phraya river

Landmarks on the river banks

The ARC Indian dinner cruise will show you the impressive riverside skyline of modern Bangkok as well as the historical district Rattanakosin, the oldest part of the city.

The cruise departs from the pier at Asiatique the Riverfront , a large shopping, dining and entertainment complex on the river banks. Lined up along the river banks are high rise condo buildings and some of Bangkok’s finest hotels.

Just after Memorial Bridge on the Thonburi side of the river is Wat Kalayanamit , a large Buddhist temple standing on the river banks.

Bangkok’s most famous sights

A few hundred meters further up river is Wat Arun , “the Temple of Dawn”. Its impressive, beautifully lit up 80 meter tall prang standing on the river banks has been one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks since centuries.

On the other side of the river is Rattanakosin island , the oldest part of Bangkok. Here you will see the golden prangs and the elaborately adorned buildings of the Grand Palace , Bangkok’s most famous tourist attraction.

Right next to the Palace is the Wat Pho , the temple of the Reclining Buddha.

The border of Rattanakosin island is formed by Phra Sumen fort , one of the fortifications that were built to protect the old city.

Turn around at Rama VIII bridge

Cruising further up river passing Buddhist and Chinese temples the barge arrives at the modern Rama VIII bridge , spanning the Chao Phraya river for a length of several hundred meters. Here the boat turns around heading back down river to Rama III bridge and Asiatique pier.

Indian buffet dinner

Departure pier and time

How to get to the pier

The easiest way to get there is either by taxi or by BTS Sky Train and river boat. If you take a taxi be sure to leave early as traffic is often congested in the area.

If you prefer Sky Train and river boat , first take the BTS Sky Train to Saphan Taksin station. Walk to the Sathorn pier and take the free Asiatique shuttle boat that runs every 30 minutes between 4 pm and 11.30 pm.
