blackpink australia tour dates

IT’S A good time to be a BLINK — in other words, a diehard fan of K-Pop superstars BLACKPINK . Last September they reunited for their second studio album ; just a few weeks ago they were announced as one of the headliner acts for Coachella 2023; and today, they’ve announced that they’re officially heading to Australia on their BORN PINK World Tour.

The most popular girl group in the world right now, BLACKPINK will be touring through Asia before making their way to Australian shores in June of 2023.

Some Australian fans may be disappointed though — because thus far, the tour is only including stops in Melbourne and Sydney.

The Australian leg of the tour will kick off with two nights at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Saturday June 10 and Sunday June 11, followed by two nights in Sydney at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday June 16 and Saturday June 17.

Tickets are sure to be snapped up in the blink of an eye, with the BLINK membership pre-sale on February 7, the frontiertouring.com pre-sale on February 8, and general public sale on February 9.

It's Official: K-Pop Group BLACKPINK Are Bringing Their World Tour to Australia This Winter

Attention BLACKPINK fans around Australia — and get ready for love — because 2023 just got a whole lot better. As initially announced back in 2022 and now officially locked in, the world's most successful female K-Pop group are heading Down Under this winter, hitting Australia mere months after a rather huge gig: headlining Coachella 2023 .

Last year, the dates for the [Born Pink] World Tour were unveiled in a post on Instagram, revealing that the tour was kicking off in Seoul before moving through the US and Europe. As revealed then, come June 2023, BLACKPINK will spend the final leg of the tour performing over two nights in Melbourne (Saturday, June 10–Sunday, June 11) and two nights in Sydney (Friday, June 16–Saturday, June 17).

A one-night stint in Auckland, however, has been ditched. "Due to unforeseen logistical challenges, the originally announced Auckland show will no longer be feasible," according to the tour announcement.

BLACKPINK's two Melbourne shows will take over Rod Laver Arena, while their Sydney gigs will unleash their pink venom at Qudos Bank Arena. Fans around the rest of Australia, we bet you wanna show your BLACKPINK love, too — so you have trips to the New South Wales or Victorian capitals in your future.

The tour supports BLACKPINK's latest album BORN PINK, which released in September 2022. It also comes after 'Pink Venom' made history by becoming the biggest release by a female group or solo artist this decade. First, then tune debuted at number one on Spotify's global top songs chart. Then, it racked up over 7.9-million streams within the first 24 hours. And on YouTube, the official music video reached 100-million views quicker than any video by a female group ever, including 90.4-million views notched up in the first 24 hours.

Also the most-subscribed music act on YouTube thanks to their 84 million-plus followers, and the most- followed girl group on Spotify, BLACKPINK will head through Asia first before hitting Australia.

And if you can't make it or don't manage to nab tickets, there's always the Coachella livestream in April .

BlackPink has a special connection with this country. Rosè (aka Roseanne Park) was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and raised in Melbourne. At age 15, the world of K-pop came calling when, at her father’s suggestion, she auditioned for South Korean music company YG Entertainment.

Just last week, Lisa  nabbed a hattrick of Guinness World Records  and, earlier in the month, they were announced as headliners for Coachella 2023 — a booking that would make the quartet the first Asian act to do so.

K-pop group BLACKPINK has announced that their Born Pink World Tour is set to hit Australia in June. The group will arrive at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena for shows on June 10 and 11, followed by a pair of shows at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on June 16 and 17.

While that will surely delight BLACKPINK devotees in Australia, the news arrives alongside a statement from promoters Frontier Touring that the “originally announced Auckland show will no longer be feasible” due to “unforeseen logistical challenges.”

Earlier this week, the superstars recently performed a special version of their latest single “Shut Down” in Paris on January 28 with award-winning Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich.

Ateez announces details of third japanese single ‘not okay’, ‘blackpink: a vr encore’ set to premiere on december 26.

The group performed the song at Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes, a charity concert organized by French first lady Brigitte Macron. The concert, which also featured performances by Pharrell Williams and Kid Cudi, among others, was also aired on television.

BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” performance began with an orchestra performing Paganini’s violin concerto “La Campanella,” which the song notoriously samples. The girl group later appeared on stage with Lozakovich, who played the iconic classical melody while they perform.

In January, the Coachella 2023 lineup was revealed . Headliners include Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, and Frank Ocean. Earlier that month, BLACKPINK’s hit song “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” made history for being the first music video of a K-pop group to surpass two billion views on YouTube.

The girl group’s achievement was noted by their music label YG Entertainment on its official Twitter account on Wednesday, January 4.

The music video of “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” features BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé performing the song in a variety of glamorous outfits. The single was dropped in June 2018, along with the release of their first Korean EP “Square Up.” A Japanese version of the single was released in August 2018.

BLACKPINK Announces Born Pink World Tour, and Yes, They’re Coming to Australia

Image of Basmah Qazi

BLACKPINK fans, you’re in for a real treat.

After the K-pop band announced their new single and their Born Pink album, which is set to release next month, they decided to drop one more bombshell on their fans.

The popular girl group are set to perform in Australia and New Zealand, as part of their Born Pink world tour .

The dates were announced in an Instagram post this week, revealing that the tour will kick off in Seoul before the group travels to the US and Europe.

Then, in June 2023, BLACKPINK will perform in Melbourne on June 10 and 11, Sydney on June 16 and 17 and then one night in Auckland (June 21).

Information on where to get tickets has not been released, but keep checking back because we’ll update this story as soon as know more.

The Born Pink world tour will see Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa take the stage and belt out some of their most loved songs.

The concert is set to be huge, with their record label YG Entertainment saying it’s “the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group”.

Speaking to Rolling Stone , Jisoo shared how she feels about performing live.

“I think it’s different for the other members: They love to receive the spotlight, feeling energised by the people who come to see us, and then getting a bit depressed when the stage is over and silence arrives. I’m a little different. When I’m onstage, I think about not making mistakes. Performing sometimes feels more like a test than something genuinely fun.”

In 2016, BLACKPINK took its first steps toward K-pop greatness. Thanks to YG Entertainment, members Kim Jisoo, Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park, and Lalisa Manobal joined together to create what would become one of the most popular girl groups in South Korean music.

BLACKPINK’s talents in hip-hop and dance-pop helped the all-female squad get ahead early.

BLACKPINK kicked things off with its album Square One. Featuring songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah,” Square One reinvented typical K-pop elements with an edgier trap-style energy. Eventually, this would become BLACKPINK’s signature sound.

“Whistle” and “Boombayah” left lasting impressions not only in South Korea, but in the U.S. as well. Following its swift climb up the charts, BLACKPINK released Square Two in late 2016. Square Two was a massive success thanks to the tracks “Playing with Fire” and “Stay.” Soon enough, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to land on the Canadian music charts.

The group’s next single “As If It’s Your Last” hit the airwaves in 2017 and paved the way for a stellar Japanese debut. The group’s self-titled EP included re-recorded Japanese versions of previous songs. After soaring to the top of Japan’s charts, the group followed up in 2018 with Re:BLACKPINK, a re-release of the EP which included both Korean- and Japanese-language versions of each track.

BLACKPINK’s rise took the ultimate turn with its 2018 EP Square Up. International hit single “DDU-DU DDU-DU” was the perfect example of high-energy “K-trap.” The song’s accompanying music video became one of the most-watched K-pop videos on YouTube, with over one billion views. It was no surprise the track also landed BLACKPINK a coveted spot on the Billboard Hot 100, a first for any all-female K-pop group.

The band’s worldwide popularity shifted as they sealed a deal with Interscope/Universal. Later in 2018, a highly-anticipated collaboration alongside popstar and label partner Dua Lipa on “Kiss and Make Up” set BLACKPINK up for more global success. After the song left a memorable mark on the U.S. and U.K. charts, the girl group released another Japanese-language compilation titled BLACKPINK in Your Area.

In 2019, the K-pop quartet expanded its discography with another top-notch EP. Kill This Love set the tone for the band’s upcoming worldwide debut. BLACKPINK’s next single “How You Like That” was its seventh track to climb high on the global charts, proving the band was an international force to be reckoned with.

In addition to Dua Lipa, the group worked closely with pop phenoms like Lady Gaga on “Sour Candy” and Selena Gomez on “Ice Cream.” By securing these collabs, the K-pop band set the standard for their full-length debut.

Due to long-lasting success, BLACKPINK embarked on numerous tours. A string of arena performances from 2018 to 2020 spanned across the globe and kept the band’s popularity at an all-time high. Dedicated fans saw the all-female quartet up close and personal as it put on a must-see show.

2020’s The Album was BLACKPINK’s first full-length studio album, with eight high-energy tracks – including “Bet You Wanna,” featuring rapper Cardi B. With this collaboration and more dance-pop vibes, The Album cemented next-level acclaim among fans and fellow musicians. The LP took well-deserved top spots in countries like South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.

BLACKPINK’s sophomore album Born Pink took the world by storm in 2022. No one could deny its power, especially after the release of lead single “Pink Venom.” Other favorites like “Shut Down” helped Born Pink set more records for the K-pop genre. In its first week, the LP hit number one in the U.S.

Live reviews

The concert was more than I ever imagined! I love the group, I love the girls, I love the songs and dances!!! The experience was unforgettable beacuse I enjoy listening to their music nonstop and now i saw and heard all songs live! I am so lucky!

But my experience before the concert was a disaster... The thibgs started with the endless queue for merchedinse. I waited for two hours and in the end they told me the lightsticks were sold out? That was so disappointing for me and all people in the queue. Also, yes it was long queue but there were not ever a barricades or anything to keep the lines from queue passing!!! So many people just came and went in the front adn nobody can say anything because they do not have proofe.

Another thing, when the doors opened at 18:30-18:40 nobody entered because the crawd( it was not even a queue) was not even moving a meter! Then the concert started 40mins later because the entering was not orgainsed at all! I am absolutely disappointed by the organisation but at least I tried my best to enjoy the show and one of my favourite groups!

Wow this concert was absolutely amazing. It’s so much better than I expected. I knew it was going to be great but wow... it was amazing. The atmosphere of the concert was outstanding. Even when they just put music videos on at the start everyone was screaming to them. The girls were so nice and were very interactive with the audience. My dad who doesn’t like Kpop enjoyed the concert as well. I’d really recommend seeing this concert.

Omg this show in london was amazing. The energy and atmosphere stay alive all night making the concert fun all the way through. each member did so well as well as jennie, the videos of her being lazy completely cancel out as she was energetic the whole night. they interact with the audience and not just sing and dance. They are so cute and make it enjoyable all the way through. Jisoo is also the cutest thing ever you have to see her live

Blackpink Announces ‘Born Pink’ Tour Dates, Plots Largest World Tour in the History of a K-Pop Girl Group

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

Blackpink are launching into their comeback era at full speed with the announcement of Born Pink , the 36-date world tour that aims to be the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group,” according to the pop phenomenon’s management company YG Entertainment. They also announced the release date for their upcoming LP, also named Born Pink . The album arrives on Sept. 16.

The expansive tour will launch on Oct. 15 in Seoul before Blackpink makes their way to Dallas and Houston. November will see the group performing in Atlanta, Hamilton, Chicago, Newark, Los Angeles, and London before making December stops in Barcelona, Cologne, Paris, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

Blackpink recently made their musical return with “ Pink Venom ,” their first official single since the release of The Album in 2020. After some time holed up in the studio, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will release their sophomore album ahead of the tour launch, getting back into the flow of stardom.

“I love to perform, but I don’t always enjoy being part of the spotlight,” Jisoo shared in Blackpink’s candid Rolling Stone cover story . “I think it’s different for the other members: They love to receive the spotlight, feeling energized by the people who come to see us, and then getting a bit depressed when the stage is over and silence arrives. I’m a little different. When I’m onstage, I think about not making mistakes. Performing sometimes feels more like a test than something genuinely fun.”
