Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, NESTER HOMESTAY is set in Guwahati. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Guwahati Station is 1.9 km away and Assam State Museum is 2.4 km from the apartment . This property totally deserves a 10 . Apartment is beautiful and well maintained. Check in process was very smooth. They have every facility of a hotel room, minus room service which is obvious. Rooms are quite spacious, washrooms are clean with hot and cold water. Both the rooms have tv and kettle. They provide towel and soap as well. Kitchen is well equipped with a mini fridge. You can easily walk to GS road from here, and everything is available easily there , be it food, shopping and entertainment. Despite being so close to a busy road, it’s pretty peaceful inside the apartment. Owners seem to be nice and cooperative. We enquired about places to visit and transportation also to them, which they were ready to arrange on our request. Just one thing , if you’re staying out late, make sure to inform the property.

Not only were the rooms immaculately clean, but they also provided a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that allowed us to unwind and connect with nature. What truly sets this eco-resort apart is its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The resort actively contributes to its natural surroundings by planting flowering plants throughout the property, creating a vibrant and eco-friendly environment that is both soothing and refreshing. The staff, comprised of young boys, exhibited exemplary behavior throughout our stay. Their pleasant demeanor and willingness to assist made us feel welcome and valued guests. Furthermore, the dining experience surpassed our expectations. The food was not only palatable but also reflective of the local flavors, adding an authentic touch to our culinary journey. The spacious and well-arranged dining space provided the perfect setting for enjoying our meals while soaking in the serene ambiance of the resort. It was evident that every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully curated to ensure maximum comfort and satisfaction. During our time at the resort, we had the opportunity to interact with fellow travelers, including foreign tourists, who shared our sentiments of satisfaction and contentment. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this eco-resort to anyone seeking a memorable and sustainable retreat in Kaziranga. From its unique bamboo structures to its commitment to environmental stewardship, every aspect of our experience was nothing short of excellent. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

AVA Resort, Kaziranga

Situated in Bokakhat, AVA Resort, Kaziranga features a garden and restaurant. The resort has family rooms. At the resort, rooms have a wardrobe, bed linen and a balcony with a mountain view. AVA Resort, Kaziranga offers some rooms with garden views, and each room includes a kettle. The nearest airport is Jorhat Airport, 68 km from the accommodation . Quietly located, well-kept and clean complex with five functionally furnished bungalows. Open-plan restaurant with sweeping views over the rice fields. Excellent cuisine, but it takes time, as all dishes are freshly prepared. Helpful and cordial staff, most of whom speak English very well. Excursions to the nearby Kaziranga Park are reliably organised, even at short notice. Very fast mobile internet can be provided on request. A moto-rickshaw can be ordered for transport to the next village We can strongly recommend this accommodation.

Situated in Guwahati and only 11 km from Kamakhya Temple, Nivriti (Bliss) Homestay features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This recently renovated apartment is located 3 km from Guwahati Zoo and 3.5 km from ISKCON Guwahati. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. I would say just everything. Everything was too good. The owner uncle was so warming & welcoming, all the small facilities was so well arranged, environment was calm. I will definitely prefer to stay here the next time.

Kaziranga National Park, home to the great Indian one-horned rhinoceros is one of the most important wildlife tourist attractions in Northeast India. Travellers across the globe flock every year to unlock the doors of diverse wildlife and scout the exquisiteness of this natural empire. The perfect topography with a river and its varied grasslands winding through its entire length, Kaziranga promises nothing but memories to cherish. This prestigious national park of India is situated in the north-eastern part of the country in the districts of Golaghat, Nagaon and Biswanath in the state of Assam. This national park was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its natural environment in 1985.

Possessing two-third of the world’s population of endangered Indian one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga is also a Tiger Reserve. The park also holds the record of having the highest density of Royal Bengal Tiger in the world, largest population of asiatic wild buffalo, last surviving population of eastern swamp deer and tiger. Spreading over 858.98 sq. km with its various annexure with the river Brahmaputra flowing beside it throughout its entirety, the park offers a splendid scenic sight, making it a heaven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. Visiting Kaziranga can be an experience of lifetime with nature.

Days Required to Cover

To explore the rolling expanses of wild grasslands with all its animals it usually requires two-three days to cover the four main ranges of Kaziranga National Park. (Central range-Mihimukh, Western Range-Bagori, Eastern Range-Agoratoli and Burapahar range).

Things to do

From elephant rides to jeep safaris, Kaziranga provides a variety of activities which assures an unforgettable view of its spectacular wildlife. The Central and Western Range offer elephant safaris and all the four main ranges provide Jeep Safaris. As there are a limited number of seats available for the Elephant Safari, tourists are advised to make a reservation in advance. Jeep Safari is easily accessible, thus no advance reservation is necessary. In addition to the safaris, visiting a tea garden could be an option. This would allow visitors to see how tea is grown and manufactured, and experience its flavour. Other options include visiting the archaeological site at Numaligarh, a serene waterfall in the nearby Karbi hills at Kakochang, Orchid Park, and visiting the nearby villages could be a great escape to witness the unparalleled beauty of this jungle. One can also enjoy the boat safari at Bhomoraguri where sighting of the endangered Ganges river dolphin is a certainty. Adventurers can go trekking in the adjacent Karbi Hills, where the natural environment is pristine and untouched, and they can also enjoy ethnic Karbi cuisine at another serene region.

Kaziranga is famous for its one-horned rhinoceros. It is also called the “Land of Big Five- Rhinoceros or unicorn”, Tiger, Asiatic Buffalo, Elephant and the Eastern Swamp Deer.

How to reach

Kaziranga is 217 kilometres by road from Guwahati and 95 kilometres from Jorhat, the nearest airport. The nearest railhead is Jakhalabandha, which is 50 kilometres from Kohora, Kaziranga's centre stoppage point. Regular luxury bus services from Guwahati are provided by both the Assam State Transport Corporation and private operators. Taxi services from Guwahati are also available at moderate rates.
