“We used Flight Ease for a flight to Rome prior to our transatlantic cruise last fall. We got to pick the airline we wanted and it was much cheaper than anything we could find on our own. Our experience with Flight Ease was good and we would consider it again.”

Princess EZair
Imagine if planning your dream cruise vacation was as seamless as the journey. Princess EZair makes it simple to find flights. With two different pricing options available, you can enjoy the benefits of the EZair program without going beyond your budget. Choose from Flexible Fares or Restricted Fares to best meet your needs. Some benefits of the EZair program include:
- Cost savings : When you book your air travel through EZair, enjoy exclusive low prices that may not be publicly available. Plus, see a comparison of fares to choose the one that makes the most sense for you.
- Flexibility: If you want the freedom to change your flight, opt for our Flexible Fares option, which can often cost less than Restricted Fares. Life happens, and with this benefit, you have the ability to alter reservations up to 45 days before your departure without any cancellation fees. You’ll only pay for the cost difference of your new flight, unless the price is lower. And you can book your air travel in advance with no amount due until you make your final cruise payment.
- Protection: With so many variables in play, flight delays can happen, but they shouldn’t disrupt your vacation plans. If you experience a flight disruption on the day of travel with EZair, we’ll work with the airline to find the next best flight, so you can still embark on your world adventures. If you miss your flight on the way home due to your cruise or transfer, we’ll even help you make new travel arrangements for your return trip.
- Support: Though specific questions or concerns should be addressed with your airline, like seat assignments, our En Route Desk is available 24/7 as an extra level of support. We’ll help you find flights that fit your cruise with our easy-to-use tool that provides flight suggestions based on when and where you sail. That way you don’t have to worry about whether you've chosen the right flight to get you to your cruise on time. You can also easily modify your reservations if you want more time in port before or after your cruise.
Your cruise vacation is more than just a holiday. It’s the chance to unwind and explore. Princess EZair helps your journey take flight by allowing you to forgo the stress of transportation planning. Similar to putting together ideal cruise and flight packages, EZair makes it easy to coordinate flights, save on fares and ensure you land your ultimate vacation. Air Canada To Test Flight Attendant's Hair For Illegal Substances & Weed After Reports Of Misconduct And Hijacking Jokes
Zinger key points.
- The flight attendant’s colleagues reported he was smoking a bong and making jokes about hijacking the plane.
- Hair testing is the only valuable option since it can detect substance use in the past three months.
- Air Canada’s policies don’t allow its crew to use illegal substances and marijuana even while off duty, unless for medical purposes.
Air Canada ACDVF was granted the right from a federal labor arbitrator to test a strand of a flight attendant's hair for drugs.
The flight attendant, known as CB, was expelled from a home where 14 Air Canada employees were staying because of reports of inappropriate behavior, writes CBC News.
CB's colleagues claimed previously that the flight attendant was smoking a bong and making dark jokes about hijacking the plane. His fellow cabin crew member wrote complaints that reached a Vancouver-based service director manager for Air Canada, resulting in a request for a strand of CB's hair and a dispute between the largest Canadian airline and the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
“[He] seemed dazed every other day and appeared to be under the influence of substances," one complaint said, according to the arbitrator's report .
Airline Vs Union Or Safety Vs Personal Life Rights
Canada legalized recreational cannabis use more than five years ago , and the union decided to react, by filing a motion to prohibit Air Canada from relying on any information revealed by the test until CB got a chance to challenge the request. Arbitrator William Kaplan called this motion "extraordinary."
The union further argued that hair strand testing was "an unacceptable intrusion" into CB's personal life and that an employee off work can't be tested for substances unless random testing is in their contract. It also claimed that the testing is in violation of the rules governing the principles of collective agreements.
“Simply put, the company does not, union counsel argued, have any right to control the lives of its employees when they are not on duty or subject to duty,” Kaplan wrote.
Why hair testing?
Hair testing seems like the only valuable option since it can detect substance use in the past three months, while saliva testing can determine only recent consumption and urine tests shows only the use over the last seven days. Considering that more than two weeks have passed since CB's colleagues reported him and the day he was ordered in for screening, hair strain testing was necessary.
Air Canada explained that this was not a standard test and that this was an exceptional case and one fully justified by the facts.
Weighing Risks, The Company Needed To Take Action
Kaplan explained the company’s position, by saying that "the risk of returning an employee to work in circumstances like those presented here far outweighed any of the identified interests of either the union or the grievor, Those results needed to be known and, if they indicated substance use, the company needed to take action.”
While acknowledging the union's right to protect its member's privacy, Kaplan sided with the airline, saying the company had "an entirely legitimate safety interest to protect.”
“Indeed, in the face of those reports from the grievor’s colleagues and housemates, it would have been derelict of the company to ignore the information it had received,” Kaplan wrote.
Kaplan also highlighted that Air Canada's policies don't allow its crew to use illegal substances and marijuana "at all times, even when not on duty or not in the workplace” except when prescribed as medication.
What's Next ?
The arbitrator disclosed that while the union can still challenge flight management's handling of the case, in the meantime the test results will provide useful information.
Air Canada was pleased with this decision which "confirms that safety is essential in our business."

Air Canada flight lands back at Toronto airport after mid-flight engine issue
Latest Videos
An Air Canada flight bound for New Delhi, India was forced to return to Toronto Pearson International Airport less than two hours after takeoff due to engine issues.
According to flight tracking data website, FlightAware , the aircraft, a Boeing 777-200LR (twin-jet), took off from Pearson Airport at 8:08 p.m.
Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft began experiencing an engine issue, prompting the flight crew to request a "priority landing."
Air Canada says the aircraft's engine was shut down following standard operating procedures, noting that aircraft are designed to operate under these conditions and pilots are trained to fly safely in the circumstances.
Flight radar shows the aircraft looping above Toronto multiple times before heading back to the airport. Thankfully, the plane landed normally and taxied to the gate with no reported injuries.

Air Canada says affected passengers were rebooked on a flight to New Delhi on Tuesday.
This isn't the only Air Canada flight to make headlines in recent days. Emergency vehicles met an Air Canada flight from Seoul to Toronto on Pearson's runway on May 20 after the flight crew reported a failure with the aircraft's flaps.

Air Canada flight from Toronto to Delhi faces engine issue after takeoff
Air Canada says one of its flights from Toronto to Delhi on Monday evening developed an engine issue shortly after take-off and had to land back at Pearson airport.
The airline said Flight AC042, which left Toronto at 7:44 p.m. Monday, requested a "priority landing," as the return was not scheduled, after discovering the engine issue.
The engine was shut down following standard operating procedures, the airline said, adding that the aircraft are designed to operate with one engine and their pilots are trained to fly safely in such situations.

Air Canada renews partnership with Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic teams
The partnership, which began in 1988, is set to cover all games until 2030..
Air Canada has re-upped their sponsorship of Canada’s Olympic and Paralympic teams for the next four Olympics, or until 2030. Naturally, this includes the upcoming Paris 2023 games. To celebrate the 30+ year partnership, on Thursday the airline revealed a special Team Canada livery for the Boeing 777 that will transport Team Canada Olympians and Paralympians, coaches and support staff to and from the Games.
“We are delighted to extend our long-standing relationship with Air Canada,” said David Shoemaker, chief executive officer and secretary general of the Canadian Olympic Committee. “For more than 30 years, Air Canada’s passion for Team Canada has been remarkable. We’re grateful for the exceptional travel experience they consistently offer our athletes, helping them compete at their best on the world’s biggest stage.”
Other than the special livery, as part of its sponsorship, Air Canada will be extending complimentary 35K Aeroplan Elite status through its Podium Program; providing individual Care & Share packages to athletes for added comfort in-flight, including amenity kit items and memorabilia to share at the Games; celebrating with significant on the ground presence at both Canada Olympic House and Canada Paralympic House in Paris; and, holding airport celebrations as athletes depart and return from the Games.
What’s new this year is the selection of 10 Team Air Canada athlete ambassadors whose embodiment of Canadian values and sporting excellence inspires the airline. The airline will be similarly selecting ambassadors for each of the 2026, 2028 and 2030 Games.

‘Bigger, more diverse’ ILA Berlin air show readies for take-off
Starting on 5 June, this year’s ILA Berlin air show will be “bigger and more diverse than previous iterations”, according to its organisers.
Billed as “the largest aerospace trade show in the EU this year”, the event has attracted 600 exhibitors from 30 countries, including around 20 international pavilions, says Dr Patrick Keller, head of communications at the BDLI.
To run across three trade days and a public-access weekend, the biennial show this time has five main themes: aviation; space; defence and support; supplier; and advanced air mobility.
Source: Messe Berlin
Some 600 exhibitors from 30 countries will attend ILA from 5-9 June ( 2022 event pictured )
Around 100 aircraft will be in the static display, with attractions including an Emirates Airline A380, the Novespace-operated A310 Zero-G platform, a Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft and a NATO Boeing E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System.
The German armed forces will be the single largest exhibitor at the show, including within a dedicated defence park which also will feature companies such as Diehl Defence and Israel Aerospace Industries.
The event is a major opportunity for Germany’s aerospace industry – including its so-called “Mittelstand”: small- and medium-sized businesses – to showcase their activities. It also will highlight Berlin’s increased emphasis on defence spending , influenced by the war in Ukraine.
With the exhibition site located on the edge of Berlin Brandenburg airport, Keller notes: “The flying display is a bit of a challenge for us at ILA, because we are a unique fair – we have to do this flying display right next to an active airport.”
Each day will include four 30min time slots reserved for conducting flying displays. Highlights will include debut ILA performances by the A321XLR and Lockheed Martin’s F-35A, plus an “air parade” with the Luftwaffe’s Airbus Defence & Space A400M, Eurofighter and Panavia Tornado aircraft taking part.
FlightGlobal will be reporting from ILA from 5 June.
