This place was so fun. Our whole family did it on a cold snowy day and still had a great time. I can't remember our guides names but they were really good and funny.

My adult sons and I had a blast on the one-hour zip tour. Colton and E.Z. were quite fun and funny. They were also very helpful and interactive with all participants. The experience once on the zips was top-notch. I echo a huge warning to booking time ahead of arrival. They absolutely will not provide a refund or even a voucher for a later date, even if they cannot provide the service. We were not able to go on the course on time due to lightening. I realize that the company cannot control the weather. But we had other plans later in the day and had to wait two hours before zip lining. The management was adamant that their "policy" does not allow for even a voucher for another day no matter the reason for the delay. They need to read about empowering their employees instead of hiding behind their customer-no-service policy. My three stars is to split between my rating for the tour guides (5 stars) and my rating for the company and customer service (1 star).

We arrived in Blue Ridge two hours ahead of our cabin check-in, so we decided to take our children ziplining. The children's course is advertised for ages 6-10 with children between ages 6-7 requiring a parent to go on the course with them at an additional cost of course. I can only imagine the parent is required because the guide spent most of the time on his cell phone while the parents assisted the children. Even when two of the children collided, the parents' reaction time was much quicker than the guides. The children course is a very small circle of five ziplines, with one being so low that my seven year old had to lift her feet so they would not touch the ground. I do not think it was worth not $55 per person. My seven year old daughter had a blast as it was her first course, which is the only reason I am giving a three star rating.

This place was really amazing. We did the 1 hour zip lining and it was really a blast. Our 2 instructors were Lucas and Colton who both super helpful. Their instructions on how to zip line were very clear, so there were no safety issues at any point. Whether you've never ziplined before or you're a pro, this was a really nice activity in the area.

We had a great time here. Not going to lie, it was scary. But my kids and hubby were so thrilled it was more than worth it. Beautiful views everywhere.

My cousin and I met up in Ellijay, GA for 5 days for some fun after a year of being upended by the pandemic pandemonium. He had never Zipline; I had (or at least I thought I had). Our guides were a joy, and we shared a lot of laughs and encouragement with our group. The canopy was beautiful and the Blue Ridge Mountains did not disappoint. I highly recommend this company to you; they offer one and two hour options.

Did the 2 hour tour and it takes you on 13 zips. Matt and Kyla were very knowledgeable me about each zip (the distance and whether you had to break early or late). It started pouring rain super hard during our time so we were catching very high speeds on the zip lines. Thankfully, there are emergency breaks on each zip for if you can't slow yourself down enough. I definitely recommend, a super fun family activity They take a group photo and pics of each member going down the Zipline that you can purchase at the end!

Ask for Paul and Lucas to be your zip lining guides here They are experts at what they do -GREAT PEOPLE SKILLS/Entertaining/and super trained safety experts and MADE our group of 6 SENIOR ADULTS FEEL SECURE and made it so enjoyable ASK FOR PAUL and LUCAS!! 5 STAR EXPERIENCE!!!!!

We did the 2 hour tour. Our guides Sarah and Colton were professional, funny and very customer focused. Our group of 8 had a great time doing the course. One of us even had a minor mishap and Colton came out and fixed the issue calmly and efficiently. Great experience overall. Only complaint is there was no water at any of the stands or towers and going nearly 3 hours in the afternoon heat with no water is challenging. Perhaps they can have bottled water available somewhere on the course.

10. Historic Banning Mills

205 Horseshoe Dam Road, Whitesburg GA • 770-834-9149 • Official Website

Home to the Guinness World Records-verified  longest and largest zipline canopy tour in the world, Historic Banning Mills is the place to go if you’re looking for the most thrilling ziplining in Georgia.

Banning Mills also strives to be one of the safest places in Georgia to zipline.

They use a patented closed-belay system from start to end, which means that you are never disconnected from the cables until you’re safely on the ground.

Level 1, the Forest or Woodland Tour, was designed with families in mind. It costs $59, includes 9 ziplines and lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, and has a minimum weight of 50 pounds so kids ages 8 and up can get in on the fun.

Level 2, the Flight Pattern Zip Line Canopy Tour, gets a bit more adventurous. It costs $89 and features 12 ziplines up to 1,000+ feet long, 9 sky bridge walks up to 80 feet high, and passes over stunning sights such as the  Snake Creek Gorge.

If you’re ready for some serious speed, try Level 3, the Flight Pattern Plus Zip Line Canopy Tour. It costs $109 and includes the double Big Daddy Zipline, which is 1,500 feet long and allows you to soar at up to 60 mph!

Level 4, which lasts up to 4 hours and costs $169, is appropriately called the Extreme Zip Line Canopy Tour.

It takes you down the Big Daddy Zip Line, across a 600-foot suspension bridge that’s 100 feet above the creek , through a 1,000-foot long zip line, and over a 100-foot-tall tower. Then it sends you down the Screaming Eagle, a 2,500-foot long zipline, at speeds up to 70-75 mph!

You must be at least 10 years old and weigh 90+ pounds to tackle Levels 2, 3, or 4.

They also offer the 8-hour All-Day Rush Zip Line Tour ($279, including lunch at the lodge ) and the Two-Day Rush Zip Line Tour. The latter includes two consecutive 8-hour days and tackles the entire Banning Mills zip line course for $519 per person.   – by Christina Maggitas; lead image via Canva

We encourage anyone who loves the Blue Ridge region to learn about the  Leave No Trace   principles of responsible environmental stewardship.

Stay on marked trails, take only pictures, pack out your trash, and be considerate of others who share the trails and parks you explore.

Remember that waterfalls and rocky summits can be dangerous. Never try to climb waterfalls or get close to a ledge to get a selfie.

When you're exploring the wilderness, it's better to be safe than to be a statistic!
