Have you ever wanted to explore the place where all of the magic of Google happens? Well, if you happen to be in Silicon Valley, specifically Mountain View, you’ll be able to stop by the infamous Googleplex. While there are no official tours, visitors are more than welcome to walk around the outside of the Google campus. We’re here to give you all the insider information and tips about how to visit the headquarters of one of the world’s biggest tech companies. We’ve also got a lot of suggestions for fun things to do while you’re there, so keep reading!

Things You Should Know

• Get to the Googleplex (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA) via car, bus, or train. Parking is free on the Google campus.
• Explore the outside of the Google campus on foot and look out for famous landmarks, like the giant T-rex statue named Stan.
• Ask a friend or acquaintance who works at Google to give you a tour of the inside of the office buildings.

• The Google campus is open for tourists to walk around 7 days a week. However, most office buildings are closed on weekends.
• To keep with the theme of your trip, use Google maps to plot out your journey efficiently.
• Google has 35 office and retail locations spread throughout the United States. Other U.S. cities that house Google offices include Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, New York, and Portland.

• Caltrain is a commuter rail service that operates within the San Francisco Bay Area region.
• If you take the Mountain View city buses, the nearest stop to the Googleplex is Charleston & Google. From there, it’s about a 0.2 mile (0.3 km) walk to Google HQ.
• If you’re taking the Caltrain, get off at the Mountain View Caltrain Station and transfer to Mountain View city bus #40. Take this bus to the Charleston & Google stop, then walk the 0.2 miles (0.3 km) to the Googleplex.
• A day pass for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority costs $7.50 while a one-way ticket costs $2.50 (for adults). [3] X Research source

• The parking lots are labeled A, B, C, D, and E.

• If you’re taking the bus and get off at Charleston & Google, you’ll be dropped off on the south end of the Google campus. Simply cross the street behind the bus stop to get to the Googleplex.

• There is no longer a Google Visitor Center for tourists to visit.
• Wear comfortable shoes to help you trek across the campus without hurting your feet.

• Make this the first stop on your Googleplex tour since it’s easy to access from the campus parking lots.
• In addition to the Google head office, Google Buildings 41, 42, and 43 are also in this cluster.
• There is also a volleyball court and a small green area near these buildings.

• If you’re lucky, you might see Stan wearing fun accessories, like pink flamingos.
• The giant T-Rex is also a nod to Silicon Graphics, a Hollywood effects company that worked on the huge dinosaurs that appear in the Jurassic Park movies. [10] X Research source

• You might also be able to see the Google Street View car. This is the car that drives around and takes pictures for the street view option on Google Maps. [12] X Research source

• If you do manage to score a tour, remain respectful and discreet as you tour the buildings. This is a workplace after all, and you wouldn’t want to disturb the hard-working people who are busy revolutionizing the tech industry.

• Green represents maximum healthiness.
• Yellow indicates food that features both healthy and unhealthy ingredients.
• Red signifies that the food is more decadent and not ideal for a healthy diet.

Mountain View has been Google’s home for more than two decades, so it’s no surprise that the first-ever Google Visitor Experience is located here.

There are multiple ways to get to the Google Visitor Experience, whether you’re driving, taking public transportation, or riding your bike.

Free parking is available at:

• Shoreline Amphitheatre Parking Lot C ( directions ), which is located north of the Google Visitor Experience at 1 Amphitheatre Pkwy (~4 minute walk). Lot C is closed on concert days , so we recommend parking at Alta Garage on these days. Upcoming concert dates include: July 3, 4, 17, 24, and 26; August 3, 7, 14, 17, 23, and 27; and, September 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 14, 22, 27, and 29.
• Alta Garage ( directions ) is located at 1001 Alta Ave (~8 minute walk). EV charging is available at Alta Garage.
• ADA parking is available at both Lot C and Alta Garage. Additionally, an ADA-accessible drop off zone is located at the western building entrance in front of the Google Store.

The VTA Route 40 bus operates daily, and stops at Charleston and Huff streets near the Google Visitor Experience ( schedule ). You can take Caltrain ( schedule ) to the Mountain View Transit Center and then take VTA Route 40.

Bicycle racks are located near the west entrance (facing Charleston Park and Googleplex) of Gradient Canopy for your use. Please bring your own lock to secure your bike.

When using rideshare or taxi, set your destination as Gradient Canopy, and you will be dropped off in front of the building near the west entrance.

Visiting the Google Visitor Experience is free! You can come explore the spaces anytime during open hours, and events at the Google Store, Huddle, and plaza are free to attend. If interested, you may purchase food and beverages at the Cafe, products at the Google Store, and items at the Pop-Up Shop.

Can I bring my own food and drink to the Google Visitor Experience? expand_more

Yes, you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverage to enjoy in the outdoor plaza or nearby Charleston Park. Please note that indoor and outdoor patio seating at the Google Visitor Experience is reserved for those who purchase food and beverages at the Cafe.

Do I need to RSVP to visit? expand_more

No! You can visit anytime during our open hours. If you are attending an event, we do recommend RSVPing as some events have limited space.

I have a food allergy. Will I be able to eat at the Cafe? expand_more

We take food allergies seriously and want you to feel safe while dining with us. We utilize restaurant-style descriptions and naming to provide information about the main ingredients and are happy to answer additional ingredient questions and provide product labels for you to review upon request. We cook from scratch in our kitchens and handle foods that are sources of all top allergens. Our menus change frequently, and manufacturers may change product formulations without our knowledge. For these reasons, our chefs and managers are the best source of real-time information about what was used that day in production. Please notify a team member if you have any questions and they will be happy to notify a manager who will be able to assist you.

Yes! There is a ramp up to the Google Visitor Experience from the west entrance, and doorways are ADA accessible.

Service animals are permitted in the Cafe and Huddle. The Google Store and outdoor plaza are dog friendly.

5 things to do at the new Google Visitor Experience

We’re officially opening our doors to the community and visitors to come enjoy our public spaces and programs in Mountain View.

Today, we're opening the Google Visitor Experience in Mountain View, California. From interactive art installations to offerings from local businesses to a California-fresh eatery, the new public destination has plenty of things for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Ready to plan your visit? Here are our top five favorite things you can do:

1. Learn something or meet someone new at an event

The Huddle is designed as a platform for community connections, offering free events and workshops for visitors to enjoy. We’ll also offer seasonal programs at the Plaza. Check out what’s coming up , including the Community Day on October 21 that features family-friendly activities, local food trucks, a makers market and live music performances!

Google will host a range of events and workshops in The Huddle. If you’re a community group or nonprofit, you can request to reserve The Huddle space for your own meeting or event.

2. Go on an artwork scavenger hunt

We recognize artists as essential innovators who inspire creativity in the communities where we live and work. You can enjoy and explore six interactive and dynamic art pieces facilitated by Burning Man Project, as well as murals and artwork from local artists who are a part of Google’s Artist in Residence program.

3. Get a taste of Google at the Cafe @ Mountain View

We’re introducing our first-ever public dining experience to the broader community at the Cafe @ Mountain View. Savor meals for purchase with seasonal, locally harvested ingredients that are crafted with sustainability and biodiversity in mind.

Just like with our cafes for Googlers, the design and operations of this cafe focus on tackling food waste, reducing single-use plastics, conserving water and energy and procuring goods responsibly.

4. Discover and support local businesses at the Pop-Up Shop

Small businesses are at the center of any community, and creating economic opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow is important to us. The Pop-Up Shop is a retail space for local makers to showcase their goods.

The Pop-Up Shop is designed to support small businesses, and we’re working with MOMENT from San Jose Made to curate a rotating selection of local vendors.

5. Experience how our hardware products and services work together at the Google Store

Get a feel for the latest Google hardware products — like the new Pixel 8 , Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 , which are available now — or learn how to improve your photos with Magic Eraser. Visitors can browse and buy Pixel phones, watches and tablets, Fitbit wearables, Nest cameras and more. Plus, take a look at limited branded merchandise. Experts are also on hand to help you get the most out of our products, provide Pixel phone repairs and facilitate workshops.

In the Google Store, we created what we call “cabinets of curiosities” designed in a curved snake-like shape that encourages visitors to engage with our products.

The pyramids at Giza and the surrounding monuments have fascinated people around the world for thousands of years. Scroll through photos, illustrations, and more to unearth facts about these Egyptian wonders.

Constructed around 2500 BCE, the Great Sphinx is a 240-foot-long statue made of limestone. The half-man half-lion stands guard in front of the pyramids, all massive mausoleums built for the pharaohs. The face of the Sphinx is believed to be that of Pharaoh Khafre.

Khafre, who ruled Egypt during the 4th Dynasty, built the second largest pyramid at the necropolis, but many details about the construction and purpose of the Sphinx remain mysterious. This 1843 depiction was painted in oil by British artist William James Müller.

In 1898, Dutch minister Louis Heldring traveled to Egypt and captured this incredible photograph of the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid. He published a book of his travels in 1901. You can learn more about the expedition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Almost 50 years later, American photographer Eliot Elisofon snapped this color shot of the same subjects. Swipe back and forth to see if you can spot any changes to the area.

Also known as the Pyramid of Khufu, this titanic tomb is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. The stone exterior has eroded in the 4600 years since its construction, but when it was built, the structure was cased with brilliant white limestone.

In 1963, Life photojournalist Paul Schutzer captured this image of the Adventurers Club Of Denmark   dancing atop the 450-foot summit of the Great Pyramid. Tourists are no longer allowed to climb the pyramids.

This artful 1962 photograph by Eliot Elisofon, also part of the LIFE Photo Collection, shows a caravan of camels in the foreground, backdropped by Khufu's magnificent mausoleum. Modern Egyptologists believe it took a workforce of up to 40,000 people 27 years to build.

When you create a family group, you become the family manager. This means you can invite up to 5 other people to join and if they accept your invitation, they’ll be added to your family group. Family managers can delete the group, invite, or remove members at any time. Get started by creating your family group now.

Creating or joining a family group doesn’t require a paid membership or subscription. A family group allows you and your family group members to get more out of the Google products you already use. Some Google products require purchasing family plan subscriptions for premium services.

Once you create a family group, you'll see a list of Google apps and services that the family manager can choose from for the family to share.

Family managers can manage their parental controls for supervised accounts in a family group. The family manager can also give another parent parental permissions to help manage a supervised account.

To create a family group, you must be 18 or older (or the applicable age of consent in your country ). In order to join your family group, the people you invite must have a Google Account. People can only join one family group at a time and they can only switch to another family group once every 12 months.

Family group and Family Link are two different services that can work together. With a family group you’re able to share your favorite apps and services like YouTube, Play Family Library, Google Assistant, and more. When you create a child account in your family group, that’s where Family Link comes in. Family Link allows you to set digital ground rules for your child’s account such as restricting content, approving app downloads and purchases, setting screen time and more. I went to Google's new Visitor Experience in Mountain View, and here's what it's like!

It might be hard to believe, but until October of this year, there were only two official Google Stores — both in New York City. Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, CA, had a Google-owned shop that sold various Google products , but nothing like the official Google Store in Manhattan, for example. In early October 2023, though, Google finally opened an actual store on its home turf. What’s more, this third Google Store is part of a larger complex known as the Google Visitor Experience.

Mountain View isn’t exactly a tourist hot spot, so lots of Google fans might not ever find themselves in the area. As the next best thing, I stopped by the Visitor Experience building to see it for myself and have photos, videos, and thoughts to share!

Google Store at Mountain View

Unsurprisingly, the Google Store in Mountain View resembles the ones in Chelsea and Brooklyn. It’s very open, incorporates a lot of natural wood tones, and borrows a few aspects of Apple Stores, such as abandoning the idea of a formal checkout area. There’s also a lounge space with a big “G” logo, a help desk for support and repairs, and a small kids’ area for keeping the young ones occupied.

Oh yeah, and there are Google products  everywhere . There had to be a dozen stations with either a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro , allowing anyone in the store to play with their phone of choice without needing to wait in a queue. Most of the products weren’t even tethered — I actually felt weird being able just to pick up a fully functioning Google Pixel Fold and wander around with it. Obviously, there are cameras, security guards, and other systems in place to prevent anyone from being able to walk out with a product, but it was still notable. Even most Apple Stores I’ve been into have products tethered to the table.

Aside from the latest Pixel phones, there were also stations for the Pixel Watch , Pixel Buds , Pixel Tablet , and even non-Pixel products, like those from Nest and Fitbit. There were also plenty of accessories on offer for your new gadget, such as phone cases, watch straps, and more.

Of course, these are all products you can get online or from other brick-and-mortar retailers. But the Google Store at the Visitor Experience also has a swag section filled with hats, t-shirts, water bottles, pens, pads, and other Google-branded gear. A lot of this stuff, I’m told, you can’t buy in many other places. Surprisingly, this was the busiest section of the store, as tourists from around the world grabbed souvenirs and gifts for folks back home.

There is one gem in the store that’s a bit hidden in plain sight. At the mobile order pickup table, you’ll find a display of every mainline Pixel phone, from the original to the Pixel 7. It’s a neat look at the evolution of the phone and will probably be missed by most tourists since they will have no reason to visit the mobile order pickup area.

Interestingly, the specialized stations at the Manhattan store weren’t here. There was no selfie booth or a place to experience what it’s like to live in a Google smart home. There certainly wasn’t a Stadia room (Google removed this from the Manhattan store at some point in 2022). I suppose since the Google Visitor Experience has so much more on offer besides the store, Google felt these weren’t necessary.

Speaking of which, let’s visit the spot right next to the new Mountain View Google Store.

Google Visitor Experience Café

To the right of the Google Store, you’ll find a café. It takes up almost the same amount of space as the store and has a pretty robust menu of breakfast, lunch, snack, and drink options. Most of the items on the menu are sourced from local California businesses, some of which I knew well.

The most interesting thing about the café, though, is that it’s not that interesting. It’s a lovely café with good food and a great atmosphere. There are no Google products, no tidbits from Google history, and no pushes for you to buy into the Google philosophy. It’s just a café. The only thing even remotely Google-related I could find was a specialty drink called a “Noogler,” which is steamed oat milk with cinnamon.

This ties into the whole idea behind the Visitor Experience, which is that it should be a public space that’s open to everyone. Even if you’re simply looking for a good cup of coffee or a place to get some work done, this café is available to you. You don’t need to buy a ticket to get in or be a part of a larger tour group. Like any other restaurant, you just park your car in the lot and walk in.

Google’s intentions of supporting the community are even more apparent in the third section of the Visitor Experience.

Huddle: A free and public space

To the right of the café, you’ll find a space called Huddle. This is directly connected to the café, but you don’t need to buy anything from the café to visit Huddle. Essentially, Huddle is a free meeting space where anyone can hang out for as long as they want. Assuming you don’t cause any problems (there is a Google staff person on hand at all times), you could show up with a laptop and spend all day there without any harassment from security.

Inside Huddle, there’s also a reserved event space. This is also free to use if you sign up ahead of time to reserve a slot and aren’t using it for commercial purposes. Google wants this to be used for community chats, meetings for non-profit organizations, and other events where people need a space to get together to discuss important issues but don’t want to spend a ton of money to do it. It’s not designed for social meetings.

Huddle also has a tiny section reserved for local businesses to show off their wares. This spot will change periodically, allowing local merchants to display and sell their products to a broad audience.

Google Visitor Experience: More than just a gift shop

As mentioned earlier, Google used to have a semi-standard gift shop in Mountain View. This was explicitly designed to appease tourists and visitors, featuring the usual t-shirts, hats, and other souvenirs. Google shut this shop down in 2021.

The Google Visitor Experience replaces this gift shop, but it’s also much more than a new tourist merchandise establishment. The Google Store, café, and Huddle aren’t designed just for tourists. They are there for everyone. If you live in Mountain View, you now have a cute new café and a free place for some remote work if you need it. If you live in the surrounding cities and towns, you have a free place to hold your next community or non-profit event and a full-fledged Google Store to grab your next phone or other gadget. And, if you’re visiting Google HQ from wherever you call home, you have all the Google swag you could want.

The surrounding grounds are also part of the Visitor Experience. There’s plenty of open green space for picnics, fantastic sculptures to check out, and the chance to spot a famous Googler making their way to an important meeting of some kind.

I would still only recommend hardcore Google fans make the trek to Mountain View. The Visitor Experience would only take up an afternoon at most. The nearby Computer History Museum would be a fantastic place to check out, and downtown Mountain View has some terrific restaurants. But unless your visit also involves some time in nearby San Francisco or another major California destination, Google HQ isn’t enough to build a whole holiday around. But, if you find yourself in the area, it is definitely worth a stop.

Be sure to try the butter noodles at the café — they were delicious!

Our Microsoft Finance Rotation Program (FRP) is a two-year program comprised of four, 6-month rotations, split across core finance functions. Kick starts your career in finance with a rotation in corporate functions, production/engineering finance, sales finance and more.

SCORE is a three-year career experience designed to provide emerging talent with an unparalleled journey through end-to-end cloud supply chain operations. Over three one-year rotations, participants will partner with and learn from our teams while building skills and supply chain acumen to accelerate their career growth.

Discovery program internship

The Discovery Program is a unique opportunity for students who are passionate about technology and want to make a positive impact on the world and society. This four-week internship is open to rising first-year students college students, based in Redmond, Washington or Atlanta, Georgia. Participants will work on a real project, learn from Microsoft employees and mentors, and explore different career paths in tech. Applications will be open in March 2024.

Created for first- and second-year college students, Explore Microsoft is a 12-week summer internship that lets you try out different software engineering roles.

Microsoft Academic Partnership Grant is intended at fostering academia and industry collaborations and result in breakthrough innovations in search, cloud computing, and data-driven content creation.

Through this initiative, MBA students across B-schools in India interested in program management get a chance to be mentored by Microsoft and be a part of AMA sessions, webinars, and leader talks delivered by Microsoft employees.

Microsoft invites students enrolled in 2-year MBA program and currently in their 1st year MBA to apply for internship opportunities. During the 8-10 weeks internship, you'll work on projects that matter – and your team will rely on your skills and insights to help deliver those projects to the market. You’ll get the opportunity to work on real projects and have fun along the way. This is your chance to show off your skills and work on cutting edge technology.
