Did you know that Paris is home to some of the most exciting street art in Europe – even the world?

One of our favorite Street Art Paris district (by quantity and quality) is Paris 13 . Traditionally a ‘grey neighborhood,’ Paris 13 is today in continuous transformation. Its once characteristic ugly towers or streets without any charm are now highlighted thanks to street artists from around the world.

The great culprit of the Paris 13 District’s transformation is its mayor, Jérome Coumet , and his team. The socialist at the head of Mairie Paris 13 since 2007 is especially interested in street art. With this spirit and enthusiasm, Paris 13 is using Street Art to heal its image and attract young people proposing to them a cool neighborhood to live in.

Street Art in Paris 13 – Main Locations

Paris 13 is a huge district with different areas and atmospheres. Fortunately for us, Street Artworks are concentrated in three main areas:

BUTTE AUX CAILLES

This calm and picturesque quarter combines pretty cobblestone lanes with interesting graffiti Street Art.

A Street Art stroll around Butte aux Cailles is a fun way to discover this quarter while following talented artists. Butte aux Cailles is also an excellent place for a drink or a nice dinner, especially when the weather is good and you can sit outdoors.

LES FRIGOS (THE FRIDGES)

This huge hangar with many refrigerated rooms was built after WW1 to stock all the products transported by train from the countryside to Paris before going to the different Parisian markets. Abandoned since the sixties, in 1980, the SNCF (the French National railway company) rented out parts of the warehouse to artisans and artists.

Today Les Frigos hosts 87 workshops in a very special atmosphere. The frigos’ external walls (but also inside) are covered with interesting graffiti street art.

THE GIANT MURAL PROGRAM

Paris 13 managed to attire famous street artists doing high-quality giant murals which cover some huge buildings without character. When street artists have permission and don’t need to hide from the police, they can do something wonderful. They can take their time and make it great. And actually, that’s what happened in Paris 13 with the city council’s support.

This quarter has a very charming countryside atmosphere. The street artworks here are small, a scale that fits very well to its narrow and winding lanes. The most famous street artists in Butte Aux Cailles are Miss Tic and Jef Aerosol, both French artists.

Miss Tic Street Art has literally invaded the quarter with her B&W graffiti, always expressing her ideas through poems and wordplay. What we like from Miss Tic is the wordplay in her work, but if you don’t speak French, maybe you will appreciate her work less.

Jef Aerosol also works in B&W. He has created many portraits of famous people like Elvis or Gandhi. Still, the main part of his work is dedicated to the anonymous people on the streets: musicians, beggars, children playing… It is very easy to recognize Jef Aerosol’s work because he always signs with red arrows.

Huge murals by famous street artists worldwide have invaded the biggest avenues in Paris 13, and now street art is part of the landscape.

Some people define Boulevard Vincent Auriol as ‘the Champs Elysées of Street Art.’ Along this wide avenue crossed by the metro and its surroundings, it’s where you can find most of these giant murals. The cool thing about Boulevard Vincent Auriol is that the metro (L6) rides by so you can see these murals from different points of view. Other interesting murals are located between Avenue de Choisy and Avenue d’Italie .

The main authors of these giant murals are Sainer  and M-City (Poland), Vhils (Portugal), Kislow (Ukrania) OBEY (US), Inti, Maher, and Aner, (Chile), Ethos (Brazil), ZED (Tunisia + Morocco) and Jana & JS (France-Germany).

France is represented by Seth Street Art, Babs, Rero, SteW, and C215. C215 is one of our favorite French street artists, his work consists mainly of close-up portraits of people usually forgotten by our society: beggars, homeless people, refugees, street kids… He also likes to feature cats and his daughter Nina. He has a very defined style and you can also recognize his work by his signature, a dice with C215 inside.

This walk on Street Art in the 13th arrondissement will give you the chance to discover a neighbourhood undergoing a full transformation, thanks to its monumental frescos created by worldwide renowned artists.

Street Art, or Urban Art, is an artistic movement born in the 1960s that brings together all forms of art created in public places. Ephemeral art, sometimes committed, sees the artists who uphold it use diverse techniques such as stencils, graffiti or even billposting. It can be seen in certain capital cities such as Berlin, and it has been gradually developing over the years in Paris, supported by public authorities.

During the last few months, commuters on the metro will have been able to see several frescos flourish along line 6. These creations have been carried out by groups or artists who are internationally well-known. This all comes from a willingness of the public authorities and the 13th arrondissement's mayor who wants to promote Street Art along the buildings in this area. Our urban guys invite you to discover these frescos during a walk from The Place d'Italie to the banks of the River Seine. Keep your eyes on the sky.

Street art walking tour in the 13th arrondissement

Spotlight on the huge murals that have transformed the 13th arrondissement into an open-air museum. The 13th arrondissement in the southern part of Paris is peppered with street art. In the 1960s, artists wanting to beautify their surroundings began painting murals on the façades of buildings in this industrial district. In recent years, thanks to backing from the 13th arrondissement town hall and local art galleries, some parts of the district have metamorphosed into veritable open-air museums. There are up to 26 giant works in Boulevard Vincent Auriol alone. In 2013, the district’s Tour Paris 13 initiative became a talking point: a building earmarked for demolition was painted from top to toe by street artists and opened to the public for a month before being torn down. This self-guided tour takes in some of the area’s most noteworthy artworks.

An Insider’s Guide to the Best of Paris’ 13th Arrondissement

A fun blend of old meets new, the 13th arrondissement is an often appreciated district of the city which lies on the rive gauche (left bank- south) of the river Seine. Here’s your ultimate guide to the best things to do in the 13th arrondissement.

The lost River Bièvre

One of the most important things to note about the 13e is its rich history, particularly that pertaining to the lost Bièvre River. It was this waterway that flowed from its source in the Yvelines right up to Paris and through the 5th and 13th arrondissements.

At this time, the 13th arrondissement was not considered a part of Paris proper (due to its location outside of the wall of Philip Augustus) and so it was not privy to the taxes of Paris. This fact, coupled with the river, gave rise to several industries in the area.

For example, from the 1300s, many tanners and dyers set up shop along the banks of the Bièvre on account of the fact that flowing water was vital to their industries. It was also in this area that the Gobelins factory was founded.

Gobelins is important in French history as they dyed rich tapestries for the French Royal Family. Other industries to make use of the River Bièvre included weavers, shoemakers, and launderers.

Unfortunately, the industrialisation of the area led to the overpollution of the river, and so during the 19th-century, the river was covered up and now flows through the Paris sewer system.

Today, there is no real way to follow in the steps of the River Bièvre, safe for a few bronze plaques embedded in the pavement. Places such as Cité Florale are now constructed on the dried up banks of where the river once flowed.

Best things to do in the 13th arrondissement in Paris

Paris is home to a number of secret villages that were once communities in their own right but have since become absorbed into the fabric of Paris itself. One of my favourite is Cité Florale ; a teeny tiny greenery filled area nestled away in the 13e arrondissement of the city…

The micro arrondissement quite literally lives up to its name of ‘Cité Florale’. After all, the area is simply a small city of flowers, bushes, and greenery. Vines, wisteria and ivy trail off the side of the houses.

Yet another micro-arrondissement that’s worth checking out in the 13th is Butte aux Cailles. Highlights of Butte aux Cailles   (translated into English as ‘Quails Hill’)  include plenty of Art Nouveau architecture, countless cobbled lanes, and lots of street art, notably many works by local artist, Miss. Tic.

The Gobelins family were wealthy tapestry manufacturers during the middle ages, and today a popular métro station (metro line 7) is even named after this illustrious family. And located in the 13e arrondissement of Paris, down a little winding lane, you’ll find their former mansion residence, Château de la Reine Blanche .

During the summer months, free tours of the grounds take place on a regular basis. The tours are also held on heritage days throughout September, though if you’re visiting during any other time of the year the château is well worth a look from the outside. 

One of the more unusual little villages in Paris is unfortunately typically closed to the public but can still be admired via its unique exterior. Petite Alsace is located at 10, rue Daviel and is so-called thanks to the fact that its 1912 constructed timber-framed houses are reminiscent of those found in Eastern France

Just across the street from Petite Alsace, visitors will soon stumble upon Villa Daviel, a delightful cobbled impasse that’s open to the public and is characterised by its abundance of greenery.

Much like many other villages of Paris , the road is home to two storey brick houses that differ from the typical Haussmannian architecture that visitors expect to see in Paris. Much like Petite Alsace, the road was opened in 1912.

While wandering around the 13th arrondissement you’ll spy plenty of skyscrapers and modern blocks of flats, Temple Antoiniste (located at 34 Rue Vergniaud) is an unusual building which resembles a small white church and is located in the very heart of the 13th arrondissement.

The place of worship was actually constructed for the religious movement of Antoinism, which is known as the Culte Antoiniste in French. The movement was founded in 1910 by Louis-Joseph Antoine and beliefs of those who follow the religion include a blend of elements of Catholicism, reincarnation, and healing. 

French brocantes are world-famous thanks to their charm and the fact that heading to them feels something akin to a treasure hunt. After all, you never know what you’ll stumble upon next!

Well, Pourquoi Pas? is literally translated into ‘Why Not?’ in English and is an old warehouse turned gallery filled with an eclectic wealth of objects and antique from all over the world. The store is located just across the street from the Temple Antoiniste and is open from 1 PM to 7 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

One of the more unusual hidden gems of the 13e is actually not very easily spied from the roadside. For, hidden behind a fairly tall hedge, and now a part of the Hôpital Broca AP-HP (hospital) private gardens, there lie the remains of the Couvent des Cordelières.

The convent was created at the best of the Marguerite de Provence, a royal, at the end of the 13th-century. At this time, the 13th arrondissement would not have been a part of Paris proper and the convent owned 8 acres of land. In 1796 the land was sold and by 1834, the convent had been transformed into the hospital.

Those in search of one of the most unusual bridges in Paris would be well served by heading to Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir, which is a pedestrian footbridge which crosses the River Seine. The bridge was constructed between 2004 and 2006 and links the 12th and 13th arrondissements.

One of the best things to do in the 13th arrondissement is to stroll around and look at all of the street art. From murals which cover the entire façade of a block of flats to Invader mosaics, there’s no shortage of unique, interesting, and beautiful works of art to discover.

One of the best parts about visiting Paris during the spring is the sheer number of beautiful cherry blossom trees everywhere. And one of the lesser-known spots for enjoying cherry blossoms in Paris is in the 13th arrondissement. Simply head to mail de Bièvre during the end of March/ beginning of April

If you’ve spent any time in Paris during the past few years, then you’ll have seen that the phenomenon of cafés placing giant teddy bears in their terraces has all but taken over the city.

Well, interestingly enough, this phenomenon actually began in the 13th arrondissement. The trend actually began in late 2018 when the  ‘nounours des Gobelins’ (teddy bears of Gobelins) first popped up in the less-touristed area of the 13th district of Paris, before being adopted by other establishments across the French capital.

The 13th arrondissement is not the most popular place to stay in the city (that award probably goes to Montmartre or Le Marais) but it does make a good base for someone who wants to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city centre and who wants to stay in a quieter, more residential neighbourhood. Here are some of the best places to stay in the 13e based on web-reviews and location:

Budget: This low-cost hostel is a stone’s throw away from the Galerie des Gobelins museum and is also pretty close to  Place d’Italie metro station. There are dorm rooms available as well as private rooms for an extra fee. Some rooms have balconies. Check prices and availability here.

La Tour Paris 13: World’s Largest Collective Street Art Tower Opens in Paris for October Only

Yesterday in Paris, the largest collective street art exhibition opened in the 13th arrondissement on Rue de Bellievre near the Quai d’Austerlitz in a 10-story concrete and brick tower. The Galerie Itinerrance obtained use of the building before its demolition in 2014 and invited 80 artists from all over the world to decorate freely on the inside and outside of the building. 36 apartments were entirely painted and the artists each had their own area to work. In total more than 4500 square meters of street art were created.

The building, “Habitat de la Sablière,” used to be a low-income housing project. When renovation was deemed too expensive, the authorities decided the tower would be destroyed and replaced by seven new buildings. The building is also the site of the  oversized street art of paint-drips by the artist Idem, who also worked with the local authorities on the project separately.

13th arrondissement of Paris: What to see, do, and eat

At the southern east end of Paris, lies the 13eme arrondissement . Some would say an unlucky number 13, with its tall and closely-built residential buildings. But 13th arrondissement of Paris has its own charm and reasons to attract visitors and the locals.

Historically located next to the bustling Latin quarter , prices, this district of Paris has always offered options slightly cheaper in price compared to the 5th arrondissement , while remaining within walking distance.

Along with Belleville in the 1 0th arrondissement , this area has a vibrant asian community with a high number of Chinese, Vietnamese, And other Asian businesses, restaurants and grocery stores .

The story of 13th arrondissement that we see today dates back to the 1970s. City planners at the time decided that they needed to increase the amount of housing in Paris, and so authorized a bunch of tall residential buildings in the 13th (along with the office tower Montparnasse in the 15th arrondissement .)

These buildings probably wouldn’t be remarkable in New York or Toronto, but amongst the gorgeous 18th-century Hausmannian buildings of Paris , they stood out like a sore thumb.

Construction permits for future skyscrapers were veto’ed leaving this area of Paris as the only one with these types of buildings. Tall office buildings were banished to the La Defense area outside of Paris.

Nonetheless, much of the charm of Paris remains. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, as well as accommodation options that are much cheaper than other parts of the city.

There is also plenty so see and do here, so let’s explore the 13th, shall we? Allons-y!

Les Gobelins

Top attractions, buttes aux cailles.

The 13th arrondissement is home to the very quaint Buttes aux Cailles neighborhood, which is a village onto itself. The village that was once outside of Paris is named after its former owner Pierre Caille who had a vineyard here in 1543.

Even after the vineyards disappeared, the Buttes aux Cailles has the air of a small and peaceful village even though it is now very much a part of Paris.

The reason for this is because the area used to be well known for its limestone quarries, and the ground today is much too unstable for large buildings to be built without concrete support injected into the terrain underneath.

It remains a beautiful area to explore, a quiet hidden gem in the corner of a bustling large metropolis.

Les Gobelins is an area in the 13th arrondissement that gets its name from the famous Les Gobelins Factory . Weaving carpets and tapistries, it used to weave and make products for the French Royal family and other nobility.

It still makes tapestries that decorate many public buildings and châteaux in Paris and around France.

The area Les Gobelins became famous for its tapestry industry dating back to the 15th century, using waters from the Bièvre river (from Latin ‘Beaver’) that once ran through the area.

Many tanneries and factories existed along the Bièvre as late as the 19th century. In the early 20th century, much of the river was covered and still runs underground through drain water, connecting to the Seine.

These days the Gobelin factory is part of the French Ministry of Culture and the Mobilier National  (the state furniture collection). It still makes and repairs tapestries and you can take a tour to watch the artisans at work. 

In terms of shopping in Paris , there are plenty of small boutiques in the area, but there are also two rather large malls in the 13th arrondissement. The larger one is Italie 2 which is at Place de l’Italie and has just about every mainstream brand there is.

The smaller La Galerie Massena is in the heart of the quartier asiatique and has a variety of shops that are more specialized that you will not find anywhere else.

And if you are looking for outdoor farmers’ markets , head to Marché Jeanne d’Arc at Place Jeanne d’Arc, which runs every Sunday and Thursday mornings.

What to eat: Restaurants, Brasseries, and Bistros

The 13th arrondissement of Paris is quite renowned for its Asian food, but like any large multicultural city, there are plenty of other options as well. Some of the top restaurants and places to eat in the area are:

• Ta-Dam Paris – Michelin recognized French bistro at 14 Rue du Jura, 75013 Paris
• Chào Bà – Vietnamian restaurant at 14 Rue Coypel 75013 Paris

Bars and Nightlife

There are several bars and pubs in the 13th, but the most popular nightlife options are along the Seine.

With real estate at a premium along the Seine, several bars and rooftop terrasses have opened along the Seine River in Paris. Most of these bar péniches (barges) don’t move anywhere, so you can get on and off as you wish. In the summertime, they are quite packed so go early.

Sunny Hostin weighed in on Jennifer Lopez’s decision to fly coach aboard a commercial airliner made the pop star more relatable after canceling her tour to spend more time with her family.

“I thought it humanized her. We’ve all flown coach. I still fly coach, and she had her bodyguard, and she had her purse with her as well, so she had the whole row in coach,” Hostin told TMZ .

“So she’s still Jenny From the Block. I like that.”

Hostin, 55, however, disagreed that the “Let’s Get Loud” singer opted for a commercial flight to become more relatable.

“I don’t think so,” the morning show co-host shared. “I think she’s Jenny From the Block.”

Lopez, 54, was spotted sitting in coach on a KLM flight from Naples to Paris last weekend ahead of Paris Fashion Week.

The mom of two had been on a  solo Italian vacation  as  divorce rumors  continue to plague her relationship with husband Ben Affleck, who has yet to join his other half abroad.

A source told Page Six exclusively that Lopez flies commercial “often,” and the decision to get on this particular flight is no indication of financial troubles.

“She’s not hurting for money,” the insider added. “She’s had a very successful year.”

The “Selena” star attended the Christian Dior Haute Couture fall/winter 2024-2025 show by herself but appeared in good spirits as she waved to fans and posed for photos with a huge grin on her face.

The Oscar-winning actor, meanwhile, berated paparazzi Sunday night after they blinded him with their bright flashes while he was driving away from his and Lopez’s $60 million marital home , which has been listed for sale.

“Listen, man, you’re going to get me in an accident,” Affleck, 51, can be heard telling one of the cameramen in a video. “Don’t flash your lights as I’m driving down the driveway.”

When one shutterbug continued to snap away despite the “Air” star’s ire, Affleck mentioned his children’s safety.

“Stop, man. It’s dangerous what you guys are doing. Do you understand?” Affleck said. “I can’t see. You’re going to get somebody hurt doing this s–t.

“Jesus Christ, my daughter’s coming down here.”

Tickets on sale now for second annual mixed-team competition

NAPLES, Fla., June 25, 2024— Tournament officials today announced three of the 16 teams who will compete in the second annual Grant Thornton Invitational, set to return Dec. 13-15, 2024, at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida.

Lydia Ko and Jason Day are scheduled to defend their title from last December. Ko and Day led after the second round and held on for a one-stroke victory.

World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who has won six times in 11 starts on the LPGA Tour this season, will play with current World No. 18 Tony Finau. Korda and Finau partnered in last year’s inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational and finished T4.

“The Grant Thornton Invitational is truly one of one and getting to drive the game forward alongside such a great player and person in Tony Finau is something I’m really looking forward to doing again this year in Naples,” said Korda.

“I’m excited to reunite Team FiNelly at The Grant Thornton Invitational — seeing the impact Nelly has had on the women’s game this year has been incredible, and I’m thrilled to have her as my partner again at one of the coolest events of the year,” said Finau.

Lexi Thompson, who has announced that this will be her final full season on the LPGA Tour, will conclude her season in Naples this December when she once again partners with Rickie Fowler. This twosome was T6 a year ago. Thompson, 29, turned pro when she was 15 years old and has 11 LPGA Tour wins during her career.

“We are thrilled to welcome back this elite group of players to Naples this December,” said Rob Hartman, Grant Thornton Invitational Tournament Director. “We couldn’t be happier with how the first few teams came together, and we look forward to creating 13 more compelling teams as the year unfolds.”

Tournament officials also announced today that tickets for the 2024 invitational are now on sale. There are three options to enjoy the mixed-team competition: General admission, the Michelob Ultra Brew House (an upgraded viewing experience between holes eight and 17) and the Garrison Brothers Distillery Bunker (a premier shared hospitality venue on the 18th green).

The tournament’s 32-player field, which is evenly comprised of PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour professionals playing on 16 mixed teams, will compete for an equal purse of $4 million and experience equal visibility and a different format of play each day. The unique and exciting approach during the three-day professional golf competition will include Scramble, Foursomes and a Modified Four-Ball format.

Législatives 2024 : un débat entre Gabriel Attal, Jordan Bardella et Manuel Bompard se tiendra le 25 juin sur TF1

Pour Raphaël Glucksmann, « au second tour, on ne tergiverse pas », on vote pour le « candidat républicain » qui fait face à celui du RN

La tête de liste du Parti socialiste-Place publique, qui a obtenu 13,8 % aux élections européennes, a appelé mercredi depuis Marseille à choisir pour le « candidat démocrate, républicain, quel qu’il soit, pour empêcher l’élection d’un député [du] Rassemblement national » au second tour des législatives, le 7 juillet, en clamant : « Au premier tour, on vote ; au deuxième tour, on ne tergiverse pas. »

« Je ne sais pas si tous les appareils sont d’accord, mais moi, je vous donne ma voie » , a ajouté Raphaël Glucksmann. Il effectuait un déplacement de campagne pour soutenir Pascaline Lécorché, candidate de Place publique sous l’étiquette plus large du Nouveau Front populaire dans la 1 re  circonscription des Bouches-du-Rhône, à Marseille. Elle affrontera en particulier la secrétaire d’Etat chargée de la ville, Sabrina Agresti-Roubache, députée sortante, mais aussi Monique Grisetti, candidate du RN.

« Si vous posez un signe d’équivalence en permanence entre le Nouveau Front populaire et l’extrême droite, comment vous allez convaincre ensuite les électrices et électeurs du centre de faire barrage ? Moi, je ne mets pas un signe égal entre Macron et l’extrême droite , a-t-il ajouté, en attaquant directement la stratégie du camp présidentiel, mais en semblant aussi critiquer en creux certains élus de La France insoumise, qui ont parfois un discours revenant à comparer les macronistes et le RN.

Macronistes et « insoumis » : la double banalisation du RN

S’agissant du Nouveau Front populaire, Raphaël Glucksmann a admis que « ce n’est pas un mariage d’amour » ni « un effacement des divergences profondes » , mais une unité et « résistance électorale contre la perspective du pire, c’est-à-dire le triomphe de l’extrême droite » . En effet, pour lui, le RN au pouvoir, « c’est le petit télégraphiste du Kremlin qui dirige la principale puissance militaire européenne en pleine guerre en Ukraine » , « c’est la déconstruction du projet européen » , « la privatisation » de l’audiovisuel public, « le tri des malades à l’hôpital » et « une catastrophe pour l’Etat de droit » .

« Je considère que la priorité doit être donnée à la lutte contre le Rassemblement national », déclare Dominique de Villepin

L’ancien premier ministre Dominique de Villepin a refusé de « renvoyer dos à dos » le Rassemblement national (RN) et le Nouveau Front populaire (NFP), comme le fait pourtant le camp présidentiel dans cette campagne, soulignant « le risque de banaliser le Rassemblement national  », dans un entretien à LCI , mercredi soir.

Interrogé par le journaliste David Pujadas pour savoir s’il choisissait le NFP face au parti d’extrême droite dans l’isoloir, il n’a pas répondu directement mais fait valoir : « Je considère que la priorité doit être donnée à la lutte contre le Rassemblement national » , car « il constitue la véritable menace pour notre pays » . «  C’est un parti de protestation et pas de propositions (…) ce sera la surenchère » , a mis en garde M. de Villepin, au sujet du parti d’extrême droite.

« La force centrale est celle qui est susceptible d’apporter les réponses, même si elle souffre d’un immense handicap qui est le fait qu’Emmanuel Macron a usé et abusé des pouvoirs qui sont les siens et a montré une surdité sans égale » , a-t-il par la suite affirmé. Plaidant ensuite pour une coalition des forces centrales en cas de victoire du camp présidentiel, en argumentant qu’ « il est important que le chef de l’Etat comprenne que s’il y a quelque chose à changer aujourd’hui, c’est lui » , avant de regretter l’absence de « cap » de ce mandat de M. Macron qui « flotte » en « l’absence d’idées claires ».

Celui qui avait été l’avocat de la dissolution convoquée en 1997 par le président Jacques Chirac, dont il était le secrétaire général de l’Elysée, a regretté le choix d’Emmanuel Macron estimant que « la sanction [électorale] de l’époque » – Jacques Chirac n’ayant pas obtenu la majorité et été contraint à la cohabitation – a « dit les choses : c’était une erreur (…) mais c’était aussi une décision prise dans un contexte complètement différent ».

Dominique de Villepin a par ailleurs salué le fait que les ténors du parti Les Républicains n’aient pas suivi Eric Ciotti, le président du parti, qui s’est allié au RN en vue des législatives et s’est ainsi placé en dissidence du parti qu’il dirige.

Pour Gabriel Attal, le Rassemblement national est « en train, avant même les élections, de trahir les électeurs »

A dix jours du premier tour des élections législatives, le premier ministre a de nouveau moqué les reculs programmatiques du Rassemblement national. « Chaque jour Jordan Barella recule sur une mesure : sur le pouvoir d’achat, ils avaient promis que la priorité serait la retraite à 60 ans, ils reculent ; ils avaient promis que la priorité serait de supprimer la TVA sur les produits de première nécessité, ils ont reculé ; ils avaient promis la suppression de l’impôt sur le revenu pour les jeunes, ils ont reculé aussi » , a-t-il déploré sur TF1.

Pour Gabriel Attal « le programme de Jordan Bardella, c’est un oignon. Chaque jour, il y a le programme qui se pelle, et à la fin il n’y a que les yeux pour pleurer » . « Le RN n’est pas un parti de gouvernement, c’est un parti d’opposition. Ils sont en train, avant même les élections, de trahir les électeurs » , a-t-il fustigé.

Législatives 2024 : comment le RN écrit le récit de son empêchement en cas de victoire

A la veille de sa conférence de presse où il doit dévoiler de nouvelles mesures, le premier ministre a confirmé qu’ils souhaitaient déposer un projet de loi sur la sécurité pour reprendre des mesures déjà annoncées, telles que l’atténuation de l’excuse de minorité, le renforcement des sanctions dès les premiers délits ou encore la possibilité d’instaurer une forme de comparution immédiate des mineurs à partir de 16 ans. « Il faut une loi, et donc une majorité pour la voter » , a-t-il défendu. Sur la question du pouvoir d’achat, il souhaite l’exonération des frais de notaire pour le premier achat en dessous de 250 000 euros ou encore la rénovation de 300 000 logements d’ici à 2027. Cette mesure, selon M. Attal sera financée « par une contribution sur les grandes multinations qui font du rachat d’action » .

Gabriel Attal appelle « les responsables politiques à mettre des digues sur la question de l’antisémitisme » après le drame survenu à Courbevoie

Invité de TF1 mercredi soir, le premier ministre a été amené à réagir à l’affaire survenue à Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) où trois adolescents, soupçonnés d’avoir agressé une jeune fille de 12 ans de confession juive, ont été mis examen notamment pour viols aggravés et agression sexuelle aggravée. « Ce qui s’est passé est absolument abject, insupportable, inqualifiable, je pense à cette jeune fille, à ses proches » , a-t-il assuré.

Le chef du gouvernement a appelé ensuite « les responsables politiques à mettre des digues sur la question de l’antisémitisme » . « Assez des discours qui banalisent, assez des propos qu’on tolère, qui installent dans le pays un climat qui est mortifère » , a-t-il lancé, rappelant que depuis l’attaque du Hamas en Israël le 7 octobre, « l’antisémitisme a repris de la vigueur » , en France.

L’Arcom appelle Europe 1 à respecter le pluralisme après la mise en place d’une nouvelle émission politique animée par Cyril Hanouna

Mercredi, le régulateur de l’audiovisuel a rappelé Europe 1 à ses obligations en matière de « pluralisme » et d’ « honnêteté » vis-à-vis de « l’actualité électorale » , deux jours après le lancement d’une émission confiée à l’animateur controversé Cyril Hanouna, dans un courrier consulté par l’Agence France-Presse.

La vedette de C8, chaîne dans le giron du milliardaire conservateur Vincent Bolloré, a atterri lundi sur la radio de l’homme d’affaires pour y présenter une émission quotidienne, « On marche sur la tête », de 16 heures à 18 heures, à dix jours des élections législatives. Pour les trois premières émissions M. Hanouna a reçu le président de Reconquête !, Eric Zemmour, lundi, celui de Debout la France, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, mardi et le porte-parole du Rassemblement national, Julien Odoul, mercredi.

Dans son courrier, l’Arcom rappelle ainsi à la station, « au regard notamment des évolutions apportées récemment » à sa grille, son obligation de « traiter avec mesure et honnêteté l’actualité électorale » . Europe 1 doit aussi veiller « strictement » à « assurer une pluralité de points de vue dans les émissions de débats » , écrit l’Arcom.

Sur Europe 1, Cyril Hanouna et ses chroniqueurs s’en prennent à « l’alliance de bric et de broc » du Nouveau Front populaire

La présidente sortante de l’Assemblée, Yaël Braun-Pivet, apporte son soutien à Gilles Le Gendre qui n’a pas été investi par Renaissance

Ancien président du groupe La République en marche (devenu Renaissance) à l’Assemblée nationale, Gilles Le Gendre n’a pas été réinvesti par le parti présidentiel pour ces législatives anticipées. Il a toutefois décidé de maintenir sa candidature et a reçu mercredi le soutien de la présidente sortante de l’Assemblée nationale, Yaël Braun-Pivet.

Dans une vidéo partagée par M. Le Gendre, l’élue des Yvelines défend un « député extrêmement engagé très présent à l’Assemblée nationale depuis 2017 » . « Gilles est un député qui a des convictions, qui les porte haut et qui s’est fortement engagé pour le renouveau démocratique dans lequel je crois profondément » , a-t-elle ajouté dans cette vidéo.

Dans une interview récente au Monde , M. Le Gendre avait déploré la « décision insensée » d’Emmanuel Macron de dissoudre l’Assemblée nationale. « Je ne trouve personne ni dans les rangs de notre majorité ni parmi les dirigeants de mon parti et encore moins parmi les électeurs, à la rencontre desquels je suis retourné depuis trois jours, qui la comprenne ou l’approuve » , avait-il expliqué.

Très critique de l’orientation prise par le chef de l’Etat dans ce deuxième quinquennat, l’ancien journaliste avait regretté, amèrement, n’avoir eu « aucun message ni coup de téléphone » pour l’informer de sa non-investiture par Renaissance. Le parti présidentiel a privilégié la candidature de Jean Laussucq, adjoint de Rachida Dati à la mairie du 7 e  arrondissement de Paris.

Eric Ciotti retire son investiture à un candidat en Meurthe-et-Moselle pour des « propos antisémites, homophobes et orduriers »

Affaibli par le peu d’entrain des élus Les Républicains à le rejoindre dans son alliance avec le Rassemblement national, Eric Ciotti avait fini par investir 62 candidats. Mais le président contesté de LR a décidé mercredi de retirer l’investiture à l’un d’entre eux, Louis-Joseph Pécher, qui postulait dans la cinquième circonscription de Meurthe-et-Moselle, en raison de « propos antisémites, homophobes et orduriers » , publiés sur les réseaux.

« L’union des droites que nous appelons de nos vœux doit précisément faire barrage aux torrents de haine, d’antisémitisme et de violence portés par l’extrême gauche » , a affirmé le député sortant des Alpes-Maritimes dans un communiqué.

Cette décision intervient après une enquête du site Street Press qui a révélé les messages postés par M. Pecher. Sur son compte X, qu’il a reconnu avoir détenu, il a multiplié les tweets antisémites, racistes et homophobes. Il a notamment répondu à un message de la porte-parole du gouvernement, Prisca Thevenot, sur Eric Zemmour, en affirmant que les deux personnalités «  [servent] les mêmes maîtres » , une allusion antisémite. Relayant la lettre d’extrême droite Faits & Documents , il a aussi affirmé que « l’islam stupide fait toujours le jeu des USA, des juifs et du Mossad » . M. Pecher s’en est aussi pris au président Les Républicains du Sénat, Gérard Larcher, traité de « porc inutile et engraissé à nos frais » qui « aurait dû faire les frais d’une battue il y a longtemps » .

Candidat en Meurthe-et-Moselle, Louis-Joseph Pécher est plus connu à l’autre bout de la France sous le nom de Louis-Joseph Gannat. Fils de Pascal Gannat, ancien responsable du Front national dans l’Ouest et intime de Jean-Marie Le Pen, ce courtier en assurances a emprunté pour l’occasion le nom de son épouse et associée. Il est le frère de  Jean-Eudes Gannat , principale figure de la mouvance national-catholique en France, avec qui il fit de la politique et manifesta contre le mariage pour tous avant de laisser de côté le militantisme… jusqu’à l’appel du pouvoir.

Les arguments trompeurs de Jordan Bardella sur le prix des énergies, les retraites et l’immigration

Baisser la facture énergétique, revenir sur la réforme des retraites, réduire les droits des étrangers en situation irrégulière… Jordan Bardella a développé les priorités de son programme pour les élections législatives des 30 juin et 7 juillet au cours d’ un entretien sur France 2 , mardi soir. Interrogé sur certaines ambiguïtés de son discours, le dirigeant du Rassemblement national (RN) a développé plusieurs arguments contestables.

Gabriel Attal tiendra une conférence de presse demain à 9 heures

Chargé de la campagne du parti présidentiel, Renaissance, le premier ministre doit tenir une conférence de presse, jeudi, au siège du mouvement, à partir de 9 heures. Au cours de ce rendez-vous, intitulé « Le Jour d’après », Gabriel Attal devrait dévoiler de nouvelles mesures et « alerter sur les conséquences concrètes pour les Français des projets portés par la Nupes et le RN dans cette élection » , selon le communiqué publié par le parti.

Le premier ministre est également l’invité du « 20 heures » de TF1 ce mercredi.

Le Medef juge « dangereux » les programmes du RN et du Nouveau Front populaire en matière d’économie

Le Medef se positionne dans cette campagne des élections législatives. A la veille d’auditionner plusieurs responsables de partis politiques pour les interroger sur leurs propositions, la première organisation patronale française a publié un document où il juge « inappropriées » et « dangereuses » pour l’économie française les mesures proposées par le Rassemblement national et le Nouveau Front populaire.

Jugées dispendieuses ou sans financement clair par le patronat, ces propositions interviennent dans un contexte caractérisé par la « fragilité » des finances publiques, une conjoncture « très incertaine » et une « violente concurrence internationale » , rappelle le Medef. Il cible notamment l’annulation de la réforme des retraites, l’indexation automatique des salaires sur l’inflation, le smic à 1 600 euros net mensuels, le blocage des prix ou encore la baisse de la TVA sur les produits énergétiques. « Aucun de nos partenaires européens ne suivrait la France dans cette démarche isolée et à contrecourant de toute rationalité économique alors même que nous avons besoin de cohérence, de stabilité et de confiance » , met en garde le Medef.

Dans une interview au Figaro publiée mercredi, le président de l’organisation patronale, Patrick Martin, plaide pour que le prochain gouvernement confirme la réforme de l’assurance chômage, conserve « les systèmes de soutien à l’économie qui ont fait leurs preuves (crédit impôt recherche, soutien à l’apprentissage…) » ou encore maintienne la suppression progressive de la cotisation sur la valeur ajoutée des entreprises, d’ici à 2027.

Il n’est pas candidat aux législatives, mais Xavier Bertrand mène campagne. « C’est plus fort que moi, j’adore ça » , glisse le président de la région des Hauts-de-France. Et pas seulement pour soutenir des candidats partis sous la bannière des Républicains (LR).

Dans une ferme de Renescure (Nord), le président de Nous France – son mouvement politique – s’est invité au milieu d’une vingtaine d’agriculteurs pour partager une bière avec eux – « on est quand même dans la circonscription de la future cité de la bièr e [dont l’ouverture est prévue fin 2025]  » –, mais surtout pour défendre son ami Jean-Pierre Bataille. Ancien adhérent de l’UMP et de LR, le maire de Steenvoorde brigue la 15 e  circonscription du département avec pour binôme et suppléant Valentin Belleval, son homologue de Hazebrouck.

Le premier refuse d’être présenté comme un candidat soutenu par le camp présidentiel, mais défend sur le fond le rapprochement entre « les républicains de droite » pour battre le député Rassemblement national (RN) élu en 2022, Pierrick Berteloot. « Le choix, ici, c’est Bataille ou le RN, a prévenu Xavier Bertrand aux agriculteurs présents.  Dans la vie, il y a les gens qui se battent comme mon ami Bataille, même si parfois il est un pénible, et ceux qui ne font rien, comme le RN. »

Pour celui qui n’oublie jamais de préciser qu’il a battu deux fois Marine Le Pen pour la présidence de la région, les dirigeants du RN sont déjà en train de dévoiler leur « imposture », à l’image d’un Jordan Bardella qui est revenu ces derniers jours sur plusieurs points présentés depuis des années dans le programme du parti d’extrême droite. « On avait déjà le “en même temps” avec Emmanuel Macron, on a maintenant [ le] “dans un second temps” avec Bardella, qui vous explique déjà “vous comprenez, on ne peut pas tout faire avec la cohabitation” » . « Je les connais depuis longtemps, ils sont pour protester, ils sont incapables de gouverner  », a-t-il ajouté.

Xavier Bertrand a par ailleurs réagi pour Le Monde à la mise en examen de trois adolescents accusé de viol et de violence antisémites à Courbevoie. « Il faut aller chercher ceux qui ont mis ce poison de l’antisémitisme chez ces gamins. Je pense que l’antisémitisme est un fléau national, celui de la société tout entière. Il y a les parents, l’éducation, les réseaux sociaux, et il faut appliquer les peines du code pénal, qui sont assez dures avec les mineurs, mais jamais appliquées. On ne peut pas continuer ainsi, mais, comme sur d’autres sujets, ce ne sont pas les extrêmes, le RN ou LFI, qui ont les solutions » , estime-t-il à dix jours du premier tour des législatives.

Ça me semble être un parfait résumé du défi politique qui attend les dirigeants des pays du monde dans les années et, sans doute, dans les décennies à venir. Plus nous attendons collectivement, plus les conséquences seront dramatiques, et plus les efforts à fournir seront importants si on veut stabiliser le changement climatique. Le CO 2  dans l’atmosphère ne disparaît pas vite, il s’agit d’un stock qui augmente. Mais à quel moment les dirigeants ont le crédit et le courage politique d’enclencher les choses ? A quel moment la prise de conscience devient globale et permet aux pays de ne pas se diviser sur cette question ? A quel moment les démocraties occidentales et, encore plus, les pays en développement ont assez de marges de manœuvre économiques pour aider les ménages les plus modestes et ainsi éviter des mouvements de colère qui peuvent être compréhensibles ? Comment gérer l’urgence du court terme et les enjeux de long terme ?

Sur ces questions, qui dressent un tableau un peu sombre, je vous remercie d’avoir participé à ce tchat. Désolé de ne pas avoir pu répondre à toutes vos questions. A très bientôt.

Peut-on dire que les électeurs de la droite et en particulier ceux de la droite extrême sont plus réfractaires au fait scientifique que les autres ? Par exemple, comptent-ils plus de climato-sceptiques?

Oui, selon différentes enquêtes, il y a une plus grande part de climato-sceptiques à l’extrême droite, cela peut atteindre 30 à 40 % des personnes interrogées. C’est une évolution à prendre en compte et à surveiller dans les années à venir.

Mais il est à noter qu’une majorité de Français dans toutes les familles politiques, une majorité parfois très large, pense que l’homme est responsable du changement climatique actuel.

La question devient donc maintenant politique, économique et sociale : quelles sont les mesures que nous sommes tous collectivement prêts à prendre pour le limiter ? Les réponses sont très complexes, et les solutions parfois périlleuses, dans nos sociétés marquées par d’autres crises très importantes (le pouvoir d’achat, la défiance vis-à-vis des dirigeants, etc.).

Bonjour, Peut-on dire que le RN superpose le rejet de l’écologie et le rejet de l’Europe, ce qui lui permet de se poser en défenseur des « petits, sans grade, » etc. contre des élites supposées loin du réel ? Alors que les mesures à prendre, pour être efficaces, doivent s’envisager à l’échelle européenne ?

Oui, le rejet du pacte vert européen est une façon pour le RN d’ajouter une corde à son arc eurosceptique et, même parfois, europhobe. Dans la façon d’exprimer les choses, il y a aussi une volonté de désigner une « élite » qui « impose » ses vues aux citoyens français pour changer leur mode de vie. Je vous renvoie aux mots employés par Marine Le Pen, le 1 er  mai 2024, lorsqu’elle décrit une «  Commission européenne sans cœur » . Elle se place dans le registre de l’émotion et de la désignation de boucs émissaires.

C’est une question importante qui revient souvent dans les conversations. L’impact de la France sera mineur. L’impact de l’Europe ne sera pas non plus majoritaire dans le monde, puisque les Etats-Unis et la Chine représentent à eux deux 40 % des émissions de gaz à effet de serre. Bref, la solution est mondiale. Mais si tous ces pays occidentaux, qui ont profité des énergies fossiles pendant plus cent cinquante ans, n’entament pas leur transition avant les autres, aucun des pays en développement ne voudra embrayer. Et le mur climatique deviendra infranchissable…

Je suis une future victime de la ZFE à Lyon à partir du 1er/01/2025. Nous sommes la seule agglomération qui va l’imposer à ses habitants. Je vais profiter de ces législatives pour voter contre en votant RN puisque personne d’autre ne nous écoute. Comprenez vous le sentiment d’injustice subie par les habitants ciblés par des mesures iniques?

Bien sûr, d’où mes précédents messages sur l’accompagnement (mesures financières pour changer de voiture, transports en commun, etc). D’où l’importance aussi du partage des efforts (entre les ménages, les entreprises, l’Etat, et entre les catégories sociales)… Le débat sur l’interdiction ou la taxation des jets privés n’était d’ailleurs pas si anodin que cela d’un point de vue politique. D’un autre côté, il y a aussi toutes les victimes de la pollution de l’air dont la protection doit être également un enjeu de politique publique. Dans cet exemple des ZFE, il y a un précipité de la complexité des politiques climatiques et environnementales.

Christina applegate’s daughter sadie, 13, speaks out about pots diagnosis.

Christina Applegate, 52, and her daughter Sadie, 13, are supporting each other through their health battles.

Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, and now the family is sharing that Sadie is suffering from POTS.

Sadie joined her mom’s “MeSsy” podcast this week to talk about what she’s going through.

“I have something called POTS,” Sadie said. “I have no clue what it actually is, but it’s something to do with the autonomic nervous system and it affects my heart. When I stand up, I get really, really dizzy and my legs get really weak and I feel like I’m going to pass out.”

Christina, who shares Sadie with husband Martyn LeNoble, told her, “I hate it for you, my darling. I really hate it for you. I’m sad. But I love you and I know you’re going to be okay. And I’m here for you and I believe you. And thank you for bringing this to light and awareness.”

Christina Applegate Believes She Had MS for ‘Many Years’ Before Diagnosis

The Cleveland Clinic explains , “Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a condition that causes your heart to beat faster than normal when you transition from sitting or lying down to standing up… If you have POTS, your body can’t coordinate the balancing act of blood vessel constriction (squeezing) and heart rate response. This means that your body can’t keep your blood pressure steady and stable.”

The syndrome can cause a long list of symptoms, including, dizziness, fainting, heart palpitations, fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain and feeling sick.

Looking back at sixth grade, Sadie recalled asking to go to the nurse’s office “multiple times a day” because she felt like she was “going to pass out,” but her symptoms weren’t taken seriously.

“In class, if I were to stand up then, I would be like, ‘I have to go to the nurse. I can’t do this.’ Or I’ll be in PE, and I’ll be like, ‘I have to go to the nurse,'” she explained.

Sadie continued, “They were like, ‘You’re doing this to get out of class. It’s probably just anxiety. Go back to class.’ They wouldn’t do anything for it.”

“Them not doing anything about it definitely hurt me physically and emotionally,” she recalled. “Because I was just like, ‘This is rude, and I feel sick and you’re telling me to go to PE and run laps around the football field. I can’t do that.’”

Christina admitted she was dismissive too, telling her daughter, “I just didn’t see it at home, babe. At home you were fine. But it’s kind of like us. We get out in the world, and the stresses and the anxiety of the world bring upon our symptoms much worse than they would be if we were in the safety and the coolness of our own homes.”

Through her journey, Sadie said she now has a greater understanding of “what my mom’s going through.”

“Like, when my mom’s like, ‘Oh, I’m kind of in pain right now. Oh, I’m having tremors.’ If I didn’t have this, I probably would be like, ‘I don’t really care. I don’t know what you’re talking about,’” she shared.

Back in March, Christina opened up about her struggles with MS with “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts.

Applegate was joined by friend and “MeSsy” co-host Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 42, who was diagnosed with MS at 20 years old.

Christina told Roberts, “I live kind of in hell. I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.”

Applegate explained, “I’m never going to wake up and go, ‘This is awesome.’ I’m just going to tell you that. Like, it’s not going to happen. I wake up and I’m reminded of it every day… But I might get to a place where I function a little bit better. Right now, I’m isolating, and that’s kind of how I’m dealing with it is by not going anywhere because I don’t want to do it. It’s hard.”
