Coastal Segway Adventures offers 2-hour guided Segway® Tours in Gulf Shores Alabama through the beautiful Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail. Explore the untouched beauty of the diverse environment and get a much-needed breath of fresh air.

Seven trails wind through six distinct ecosystems to create a nature lovers paradise. Experience beautiful forests, sparkling lakes, and mysterious swamps. Certified Segway Personal Transporter (PT) Operators will begin each tour with a lesson on how to properly operate a Segway PT.

After the lesson, your guide will take you through several popular portions of the beautiful Backcountry Trail system, including the Boulder Park, Pavilion and other wonderful landmarks.

• Reservations are required and must be made by phone.
• Riders must be 12 years or older.
• An adult must sign for any rider(s) under the age of 19.
• There is a weight limit of 265 pounds to ride.
• Groups of more than 6 should call 48 hours in advance.
• No open-toed shoes allowed.
• Office Hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Tour times vary

Become a local by touring downtown Pensacola, only a short drive from Gulf Shores, while leisurely riding along the historic streets. Your experienced local tour guide will lead you through the sites and sounds of Historic Pensacola and a view of breathtaking Pensacola Bay. You will visit many historical sites and neighborhoods, learn fascinating facts about the city of five flags. Tours are conducted daily and range from 1 to 3 hours. Learning Pensacola’s history will help you feel more like a local as we locals are proud of our past. Pensacola is the most fascinating city on the Emerald Coast. And locals, it’s always a great time to brush up on your history as well.

What to Expect on a Segway® Tour for Gulf Shores

Each tour includes a brief training session, which will allow you to learn the ins and outs of Segway gliding. These technologically advanced, eco-friendly machines are very intuitive and self-balancing. Learning to glide on a Segway usually takes only a few minutes! Once trained, your group will head out on the town to experience the sights and sounds of our beautiful city along Pensacola Bay! We are proud to offer Segway tours for Gulf Shores .

Important Information About Segway® Tours:

Reservations are required for Segway tours and glides. Please book ahead to ensure that you are able to schedule the dates/times you desire. A credit card is required for reservations. There is a 72 hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel your tour within 72 hours Emerald Coast Tours reserves the right to charge your credit card for full price of the tour. Comfortable, athletic shoes are best for Segway riding. Please do not wear Shape Ups or other shoes with a heel.

We take groups of 5 at a time. Single gliders will be paired with another person or group. However, if you have a larger group of 5, with a week notice, we could accommodate more riders. Please call (850)417-9292 to make arrangements. Segway gliders must be between 100-260 pounds. Age range is limited to age 14 and older. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to gear up for your tour!

Fun. Educational. Jokes. What a great adventure for all. Lots of great information shared throughout the tour and Dave has jokes, at least he thinks he does. Ha.

We had a very poor experience with Coastal Segway Adventures in March, 2024. I called in the late morning and they confirmed they had an electric trike to rent for my 84 year old mother and told us to come by. The weather was rainy that morning but when we arrived it was dry as the weather forecast was predicting a beautiful afternoon. But the shop was closed, there was no sign on the door saying why they were closed during regular operating hours. I called again several times but they did not answer so I left a voicemail asking for a call back. They did not call back. It was very frustrating to come all that way to rent a bicycle that they said they had, to have them randomly close in the next hour. A day later they left a lengthy voicemail saying they decided to close the night before and they were sorry I was not aware of this so that story didn't match what actually happened. We instead got really great and friendly service from gulfshoresbikerentals . com and we highly recommend them.

The tour was great and one of our favorite things that we did in Gulf Shores. We saw alligators, eagles, egrets and herons. The segways were fun to ride and very easy to learn. Highly recommend...we are a family of four, two adults, a 13-year-old and 12-year-old.

This was so fun! I never rode a Segway before and it was actually super easy. Our guide Shanna was very good at "training" us. We rode for miles through the Gulf Shores State Park so no cars which was nice. Beautiful scenery. And Shanna made sure to make several stops to point out wildlife and native plants. She was very knowledgeable about the area. We did the 8:30-10:30 tour and I was glad because after that it would've been too hot. They give you a bottle of water but bring extra. There's a pack on the front of the Segway to store water and a small purse or jacket. Highly recommended!

Dave and the staff were great. Fun two hours zooming around the nature preserve. We were there in December, so a slow season but easy-going.

Dave was awesome! Had a great time the weather was beautiful in our guide was very funny and made sure we were safe the entire way.this is a great great adventure and I highly highly recommend.you can book online in advance that way you get the spot in the time that is convenient for you. Price was $75 plus tax and was 2 fun filled hours. We stopped a few spots, gave some history on the area, and plants, even tried to show us some wild life. Definitely will do again!

My wife and I took a 2 hour tour. Dave our tour guide was great. He had plenty of information and a few jokes to keep us smiling. We zoomed around the park and stopped to see an alligator and heard some history about the park.

Dave was a great guide and was able to share awesome facts about the wildlife and different parts of the park. My two kids and I never have ridden Segway's but he took the time to teach us and we loved them! Best family activity we did on our vacation, by far! We were looking forward to seeing some wildlife and he knew all the spots to stop and catch close-ups of them including the alligator (Lefty) and her babies! I would highly recommend this activity and Dave to anyone looking for a unique activity that will add great memories to any vacation in Gulf Shores!

We had a blast!! Our tour guide was awesome!! The staff when checking in were very helpful. The Segway route we rode was beautiful!! 5 Star Experience!!

• Start on Perdido Beach Boulevard, heading southeast towards Gulf State Park.
• Turn left onto Gulf Park Drive, following the signs for the Gulf State Park.
• Continue straight through the roundabout, remaining on Gulf Park Drive.
• Drive for about 2 miles, passing the Gulf State Park Golf Course on your right.
• Turn left onto State Park Road 2, where you'll see the clear signage for Coastal Segway Adventures.

Gulf Shores 2022

We took the two hour tour and it was wonderful, went through many paved pathways, wooden elevated walkways over sand dunes, marshes and streams. Our guide was very informative, we stopped several times at points of interest and talks. I would recommend this tour to anyone as the segways were very easy to learn to ride and a good time was had by our group.

So much fun, Dave was amazing as a tour guide, very knowledgeable! We will take this tour with Dave again!

Excellent tour; Dave was friendly, knowledgeable, and just all around a great tour guide. We made several stops to enjoy the scenery and take pictures. Do it; you won’t regret it!

The informative commentary from our guide during the ride regarding the area wildlife and history of the area. Do not be fearful of the Segway.

I rate it as a must do! I made fun of segways for years, not anymore. I now try to get a segway tour any place I travel these days. Like all the others I have done, this was worth it. I was only able to get a 1-hour tour due to timing, but it was still worth it. They went out of their way to ensure I was able to get in a tour. Daneka was my guide, and she was perfect for me. Do not be afraid of being unable to balance, once you get a little crash (ha ha) course, you will be fine. I have been on many of these now, and I have never seen anyone fall off. The 1 hours takes you through some beautiful car-free boardwalks and paths in the woods.

Dave the tour guy was AMAZING!!! Very informative and funny!!! Definitely recommend this to everyone!!
