Saint Pablo Tour

The Saint Pablo Tour was a concert tour by Kanye West which ran from August 25 to November 19, 2016, in support of his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo ( 2016 ). The tour was originally planned to run until December 31, 2016, but was canceled prematurely on November 21 due to West's hospitalization. [1]

The set design for the tour has been regarded as iconic, because the entire floor of the venue was for audience members to look up to Kanye who was on a lifted platform that moved around the venue throughout the performances. [2]

As of March 2022, the Saint Pablo Tour is Ye's most recent solo tour.

The tour kicked off in Indianapolis, Indiana, with reviews raving about the unique stage design. [3] The tour went as planned until the October 2 performance which saw Ye cut the show short following news of his wife Kim Kardashian being robbed at gunpoint in Paris. The event resulted in the next two tour dates being cancelled. [4]

He returned to the tour on October 7. During the show, he made no mention of the incident and "barely spoke to the crowd." [4] The tour was once again on balance until things started to fall apart again in November.

At the San Diego show on November 17, Ye spoke about politics and said that "if I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump," which prompted a mass booing and fans to throw items on stage. Two days later, he derailed the performance to go on a long tirade about Facebook, Jay Z, Hillary Clinton, and Beyoncé, before storming off the stage and cancelling the rest of the tour. [5]

After the incident, Ye admitted himself to the UCLA Medical Center. As of March 2022, his November 19 show is his most recent solo tour performance.

Kanye West is pulling the plug on his Saint Pablo tour.

After going on headline-making rants during his two latest shows, and abruptly ending his show on Saturday night after just 30 minutes, the 39-year-old rapper has canceled the rest of his upcoming tour dates, a rep for West tells ET. Tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase.

West was scheduled to play all throughout the rest of the year, canceling 21 shows total. In addition, West was scheduled to play a show at the Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday night -- a makeup show for the Nov. 3 concert he cut short due   to losing his voice -- but also canceled the concert three hours before it was set to begin.

Ticketmaster is also issuing refunds to the attendees of West's Sacramento, California, show on Saturday. West went on a bizarre 17-minute rant -- taking shots at longtime friends Beyonce and Jay Z , as well as Hillary Clinton -- before cutting the show short after just 30 minutes.

"Beyonce, I was hurt. 'Cause I heard that you said you wouldn't perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over 'Hotline Bling,'" West said, referencing this year's MTV Video Music Awards. "Jay Z, call me bruh. You still ain't called me. Jay Z, I know you got killers, please don't send them at my head. Just call me. Talk to me like a man."

"Right now, press, get ready to write your passive aggressive, LeBron James racist comments, Season 4 racist comments," he added, shortly before dropping the mic and leaving the stage to a chorus of boos from the audience. "Get ready to have a field day, press, get ready, get ready, because the show's over."

Last Thursday, West was again booed at his show in San Jose, this time for saying he would have voted for Donald Trump in the election had he voted ... though his $2700 contribution to "Hillary for America" in July 2015 would seem to say otherwise.

"Specifically to black people, stop focusing on racism," he later told the audience. "This world is racist, OK? Let’s stop being distracted to focus on that as much. It's just a f**king fact. We are in a racist country. Period… Not one or the other candidate was going to instantly change that."

The Saint Pablo tour was originally scheduled to end on Nov. 2 in Los Angeles, with two shows (Philadelphia and Detroit) in December that had to be rescheduled due to his wife Kim Kardashian's robbery in Paris. But in October, Live Nation announced that the controversial rapper would be extending his tour , playing 21 more shows across North America.

Kanye West Hospitalized After Tour Canceled: Sources

Kanye West was under observation at a Los Angeles area hospital late Monday after the remaining dates of his national tour were abruptly canceled, multiple authorities familiar with the case told NBC News.

The admission followed a week of bizarre incidents during which the provocative rapper publicly railed against fellow music stars Beyoncé and Jay Z and retroactively endorsed President-elect Donald Trump.

A source familiar with the case said Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call about 1:20 p.m. (4:20 p.m. ET). No criminal activity was involved; the decision to hospitalize West was for his own health and safety, the sources said.

West's concert promoter, Live Nation, said earlier in the day that the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo Tour had been called off. No reason was given.

A representative for West didn't immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment.

The cancellation of West's tour comes on the heels of a rough week for the rapper, who has made controversial statements and feuds with fellow celebrities a centerpiece of his art and persona.

On Thursday, West announced at a concert in San Jose, California, that he hadn't voted in the 2016 presidential election but that he would have supported Trump "if I voted." The statement was met with boos.

Two days later, West used another concert in Sacramento, California, as an opportunity to lash out against everyone from Beyoncé to Mark Zuckerberg, saying he was "on my Trump sh–t tonight." West performed just two songs, according to The Sacramento Bee, and left abruptly after 30 minutes.

Afterward, the hashtag #KanyeIsOverParty soon began trending on Twitter.

Kanye West Floats Over Crowd in Unique Saint Pablo Tour Kickoff

By Corbin Reiff

Corbin Reiff

During the Indianapolis kickoff show of Kanye West ‘s 39-date Saint Pablo Tour, the rapper unveiled a brand new set designed to bring the action to the audience rather than the other way around. There was no large central stage for everyone to gravitate toward. In its stead, a smallish platform, suspended 15 feet up in the air, that moved constantly around the cavernous space. Above it, an expansive array of lights – similar in appearance to his set from Glastonbury last year – that spanned the entire length of Bankers Life Fieldhouse. When fully lit up in a soft orange hue, and with a dense cloud of fog swirling all around, the interior of the basketball stadium was transformed into something like the alien spacecraft from Close Encounters of the Third Kind .

Starting off with recent single “Father Stretch My Hands,” West, clad in a light denim jacket, black leather pants, and Yeezys on his feet, took the Midwestern crowd on a two-hour long journey through the the ins-and-outs of his impressive canon. There didn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to the set list selection. After dispensing with “Famous” he busted out a pair of high-profile features, “Pop Style” by Drake and “THat Part” by ScHoolboy Q. From there, “Facts,” “All Day,” and then the of Cruel Summer standouts “Mercy” and “I Don’t Like.”

Not that the audience craved any type of narrative or thematic cohesion. For the most part, everyone seemed content to be awed by the impressive new set and to lose themselves along with the man up top as he unleashed banger after banger. “Wolves” performed in a way that simulated the rendition seen on the SNL 40th Anniversary Special received an especially enthusiastic reception, as did classics like “Niggas in Paris,” “Jesus Walks” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

Without the benefit of a band or an assembly of dancers in the vicinity to shift focus – West’s faithful collaborator Mike Dean was on hand to take care of the instrumentals, as was his cousin, the singer Tony Williams and Caroline Shaw, but they were left obscured in darkness on the South end of the arena – the onus was entirely on West to keep the crowd’s attention. He never faltered. Whether through his imitable dance moves, adept flows or just the outsized force of his own enigmatic personality, you simply couldn’t take your eyes of of him.

“The whole concept of this is to go anywhere you want,” he explained to the audience midway through the show. And so those below did. Rather than being squashed up against a railing all night to get an up close look, or being left stuck standing in the same position for hours on end, those in the general admission area were afforded free rein to traverse the entire floor of the arena. At any moment, with a shift of West’s slow-moving platform, you could have the best view in the house. Alternately, when the gravity of the crowd moved away, you had a whole swath of concrete to yourself to dance and jump along to your heart’s content.

Multiple times throughout the night the music would drop out as the modular lighting rig folded into an array of different configurations. For “Runaway,” West untethered himself from his small platform and took a place in front of an MPC Sampler on the larger rig itself. As has been his wont through the years, he used the Dark Fantasy track to get some feelings off of his chest. In a different era, some might call these extended monologues “rants,” but there was a noticeable lack of vitriol in his thoughts. As a contented family man, and with his dreams to become a fashion icon all but fulfilled thanks to his collaboration with Adidas, he instead offered a number of motivational sentiments instead like “Dreams are possible,” and “The corny shit has to die, inspiration has to rise.”

Of course, with such an elaborate stage setup being deployed for the first time there were a bound to be a few technical hiccups. At the very end of the show, as the last notes of “Fade” died out, the lift designed to carry him over the massive 30′ x 30′ projection screen up front malfunctioned, forcing him to descend with his stage to the ground and depart somewhat unceremoniously through the floor of the arena. It was an admittedly anticlimactic way to end an otherwise stellar performance.

Sturgill simpson is back with new tour, new album ... and a new name, 'the acolyte': this 'star wars' prequel series isn't a force to be reckoned with, normani channeled janet, recruited brandy, and put 'absolutely everything' into her album 'dopamine'.

Spectacle has always been the hallmark of West’s many tours, seeking ways to show his audience something that they’ve never seen before. With his latest presentation, he’s managed to up the ante once again and redefine what audiences might consider “possible” along the way.

Setlist “Father Stretch My Hands” “Famous” “Pop Style” “THat Part” “Facts” “All Day” “Mercy” “I Don’t Like (Remix)” “Black Skinhead” “Power” “Wolves” “Feedback” “Freestyle 4” “I Miss the Old Kanye” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” “FML” “Blood on the Leaves” “Jesus Walks” “Amazing” “Runaway” “Devil in a New Dress” “All Falls Down” “Flashing Lights” “All of the Lights” “Good Life” “Niggas in Paris” “30 Hours” “Highlights” “Real Friends” “Only One” “Ultra Light Beam” Interlude “Fade”

KANYE WEST ANNOUNCES THE SAINT PABLO TOUR

KANYE WEST ANNOUNCES

THE SAINT PABLO TOUR

- The Legendary Performer's First North American Tour In Three Years, Produced By Live Nation, Launches On Aug. 25 -

- Tickets On Sale Saturday, June 18 at LiveNation.com -

- Coming to Xcel Energy Ceter Oct. 10

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Kanye West - the 22-time Grammy Award winning, visionary multi-disciplinary artist who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has twice been named to Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world - today unveils details for THE SAINT PABLO TOUR. The North American tour, promoted exclusively by Live Nation, will kick off on Aug. 25 at Banker's Life Arena in Indianapolis, IN. West will visit nearly 40 cities across the U.S. and Canada including dates in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, Detroit, Washington DC, Miami, Saint Paul and more.

For the first time, Kanye will bring to life songs from his seventh consecutive No. 1 album, "The Life Of Pablo," which made history as the first album to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart based on streaming only.

Kanye returns to North American arenas for the first time in three years. 2013's historic Yeezus Tour saw jubilant, sold-out crowds and unprecedented acclaim. Reviewing the tour opener, the Seattle Times raved, "A deific spectacle of a set...a two-hour rap-opera of a performance that was grandiose yet minimal, unsettling yet inspirational...There are very few modern artists with the kind of vision, ambition, and means to execute it as Kanye West right now...a distinct statement of his combined artistic ambition, penchant for excess, and desire to simply outdo every other entertainer out right now." "Awe-inspiring," said Rolling Stone. "Truly electrifying...The stage as imagined and executed by West was truly something to behold."

"Brilliant," raved the New York Post. "The Yeezus tour is more than just a concert. It's an extravaganza of music and theater...a combination which makes him the most fascinating musical figure of our time and makes this tour an unmissable spectacle."

With Kanye's history-making live performances continuing to innovate the concert experience and set new standards for the visual medium, THE SAINT PABLO TOUR is the most anticipated concert event of the year. Tickets go on sale Saturday, June 18 at livenation.com .

American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, June 14 at 10 a.m. through Friday, June 17 at 10 p.m.

Kanye West released his seventh solo album, "The Life Of Pablo," to universal critical acclaim. The New York Times, on its front page, declared: "With flux embedded in its DNA, 'Pablo' is crisply alive, like water that's still boiling even though the flame is off. Pay close attention to the multiple iterations and you hear an artist at work...It's everything bared - process as art." Rolling Stone raved: "a complex, conflicted masterpiece." "His devotion to the craft of album-making remains his greatest talent," Pitchfork mused. "Albums are his legacy...His ability to package hundreds of stray threads into a whole that feels not just thrilling, but inevitable - at this, he is better than everyone." And USA Today simply asked: "Is Kanye West the greatest artist of the 21st century?"

Review: Kanye West, Both Close and Out of Reach at His Tour Opener

saint pablo tour

By Jon Caramanica

  • Aug. 26, 2016

INDIANAPOLIS — Back in June, Kanye West was rumored to be playing a secret concert at the New York club Webster Hall after Hot 97’s Summer Jam festival . Well after midnight, the street was filled with hundreds of young people waiting for a chance to see their hero. The show itself didn’t happen, but at one point, a car drove past, and Mr. West poked his head out of the sunroof. The crowd surged and surrounded him; after a minute or two, the car pulled away from the throng, leaving a trail of fans chasing it up Third Avenue.

It was a beautiful expression of fanaticism engineered by an artist who uses frenzy as paint. And it provided an unexpected foreshadowing of the opening night of Mr. West’s “Saint Pablo” tour — celebrating his February album , “The Life of Pablo” — which came to Bankers Life Fieldhouse here on Thursday night.

This performance was like that scene writ large, captured in a consumable experience. There was no formal stage: Mr. West delivered the entire concert from platforms that hovered about 20 feet above the arena floor and beamed light in every direction. The platforms floated out above the crowd slowly, like an Imperial Star Destroyer soaring through space in “Star Wars.” At one end of the room was a large screen projecting blurred images from cameras filming Mr. West from various angles, including the ceiling.

For much of the night, Mr. West performed on a smallish square platform, tethered to the center by a rope that ran up under his coat as it tilted at various precarious angles. He moved in circles and danced across the floor, using the restraint as a tool; at times he sat at the edge and let his feet dangle, and at one point lay prostrate and extended his hand to the crowd, offering a benediction.

It made Mr. West both improbably close and tantalizingly out of reach. He was the host, but also a reveler. For the first 20 or so minutes, the crowd maintained a circle around the platform as it crept from one side of the room to the other, staring up at Mr. West and pointing their camera phones while he worked through the more bruising end of his catalog: “All Day,” “Famous,” “Mercy,” “Don’t Like (remix).”

But then, those in the throng realized that they could use the bathed-in-light space beneath Mr. West as well, and the floor became a full-fledged party, like a warehouse rave or, when the beers were flying, a mosh pit at a hardcore show. On each side of the floor, a couple of dozen speakers were blasting physically overwhelming bass, literally pushing fans away from the edges and toward the center.

It was a minimalist, elaborately efficient way to deliver an arena show: It got Mr. West closer to both ends of the room, and also to both the fans on the floor and those in the cheap seats way up top. There was even blurring between the insiders and the outsiders — among the revelers on the floor were some of Mr. West’s intimates and members of his extended creative team: Virgil Abloh, Scooter Braun, Travis Scott, ASAP Bari.

If you were on the floor, you could choose your own way to experience the show — in thrall to Mr. West in the sky, dancing in the light beneath him, or soaking it all in from the fringes. There was little distraction: Mr. West performed to a combination of prerecorded tracks and live accompaniment by the singer Tony Williams; the producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Dean; and Caroline Shaw , the Pulitzer Prize-winning new-music composer and vocalist, all of them dressed in black and occupying a small stage at one end of the floor.

Mr. West’s live-show innovation is the latest in a year full of them; Drake , Beyoncé and Rihanna have all made concerted efforts on their tours to shrink oversize spaces, a reconsideration of the top-down power dynamic of large-scale live concerts for the age of social-media intimacy and immediacy.

The setup wasn’t without its complications, though. On two occasions, Mr. West stopped the music because he perceived the tangle of people beneath him to be a little too rowdy. And he spent much of the second half of the show on a larger platform — banging out a beat on an MPC for “Runaway,” speaking to the crowd and playing some brighter songs, like “Good Life” and “All of the Lights” — but stayed closer to the center of it, making him harder to see from the floor.

Often Mr. West uses speeches during his shows as a way of collapsing the space between him and the audience, but given that this concert’s physical dynamism did that for him, he kept the talking to a minimum. He began one segment by saying, “Now that I have kids, my perspective has changed,” before thanking the chief executive of Nike, a company he’s had a contentious relationship with in the past, and also Adidas, his current footwear partner. He doubled down on his insistence that art and commerce should play nice. “Dreams are possible,” he said, but conceded, “Every day is a struggle.”

It was almost two hours into the performance at that point, and the crowd’s bubbling energy had crested and leveled off. The lights were brighter, and Mr. West remained contemplative, working through bits of “30 Hours” and “Real Friends,” some of the quieter moments from “The Life of Pablo.” By the time he got to “Only One,” from 2014 — delivered from the perspective of his mother, who died in 2007 — the room was almost quiet.

Here again, Mr. West played with spatial relations — not between him and the crowd, but between him and the unknown, as a circular red light descended over him like a portal to the heavens. Then came knockout-punch snippets of the gospel choir in “Ultralight Beam,” delivering slashes of ecstatic faith, followed by the cleansing pulse of “Fade,” and a bath of ambient vocals and synthesizers. When the lights came up, Mr. West had evaporated into the mist.

Kanye West’s tour continues at First Niagara Center in Buffalo on Saturday and at Air Canada Center in Toronto on Tuesday and Wednesday; kanyewest.com/tour.

INTERIORS: Kanye West's Saint Pablo Tour

saint pablo tour

  • Written by INTERIORS Journal
  • Published on November 02, 2016

Interiors is an Online Publication about the space between Architecture and Film, published by Mehruss Jon Ahi and Armen Karaoghlanian . Interiors runs an exclusive column for ArchDaily that analyzes and diagrams films in terms of space.

Kanye West followed up his demented masterpiece Yeezus with an art project—an album never officially released, never officially completed, and one that is continuously being revised and restructured. It’s a continuous work in progress, a painting that’s never finished, which has evolved before our eyes (known by many titles including So Help Me God , Swish , Waves , until finally settling on the anachronistic The Life of Pablo ).

It’s no wonder then that The Saint Pablo Tour, which kicked off in Indianapolis on August 25th, 2016 and is tentatively scheduled to end in Brooklyn on December 31st, 2016, feels unlike anything Kanye West has done before, while staying true to his creative vision. If 2013’s Yeezus Tour was an operatic experience that was more about the performance aspect, 2016’s Saint Pablo Tour is an active experience that is more about creating a Disneyesque attraction.

saint pablo tour

The design of the tour is broken down into two stage components, its Main Stage and Secondary Stage (or “Spaceship” Stage as it has been named by many). These stages feature an elaborate pulley and track system. The open web steel joists compose the elaborate framing system that attaches to the structure of each arena. The result is that people actually become part of the experience, taking the concept of a concert to another level. In this sense, audience members are singing, dancing and engaging with Kanye West . It is the first concert in recent memory that actively uses the crowd as part of the experience of the show.

saint pablo tour

The Main Stage, which is a rectangular steel platform, is attached to two parallel steel joists that allow West to literally float around the entire arena. These parallel steel joists are connected to a larger steel frame system that span almost the entire length of the arena. The Main Stage has spotlights surrounding the edges of the platform and lining the bottom of the platform surface (which shine directly onto the crowd during certain moments of the show).

The Secondary Stage takes on the same language as the Main Stage but is lined with more spotlights all along its bottom surface (which provide different light cues throughout the show and change color and brightness depending on the song that is being performed). In addition, parts of this stage are able to detach from the rest. There are four rectangular forms that can move independently from one another, which allows for different designs during songs like “Heartless” and “Wolves.”

The Saint Pablo Tour draws heavy inspiration from a variety of sources (most notably the films of Ridley Scott and Stanley Kubrick). The shows consist of two intermissions where the Secondary Stage rotates along its short axis, barring striking resemblance to Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). The show even takes on a Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) feel with Kanye West ’s time on the Main Stage with the crowd directly under him.

saint pablo tour

The Saint Pablo Tour is divided into three sections with two transitions. The first section of the show consists of Kanye West entering on the main stage during “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1”—at first, only the spotlights on the edges of the platform are on for the first group of songs, with lighting cues that represent Kanye West’s arrival, gradually building energy and momentum for the show. The second section includes additional lighting cues with Kanye West traveling closer to the opposite end of the arena. The third section sees parts of the stage transforming with more lighting cues and effects from the Secondary Stage and ultimately concluding with Kanye West traveling back to a bright spotlight in the center of the stage during “Ultralight Beam.”

Interiors has created two diagrams for The Saint Pablo Tour, which includes two elevation drawings showing each side of the show. The short elevation depicts the show during “Freestyle 4” where a large crowd is directly below the Main Stage. The long elevation depicts the show during “Wolves” where the Secondary Stage breaks apart, rotates, and shines onto the crowd.

There are few artists, if any, who do as much for the sake of art as Kanye West . This is an artist who has continuously combined Film, Architecture, and Fashion into his work, creating concerts that feel like theatrical experiences—even going so far as to redefine our understanding of tour merchandise, making tour shirts feel like their own in-demand clothing line. Kanye West has transformed Stage Design and Performance Architecture, with each live performance now redefining the way we envision and experience the medium, much in the same way his idols, Steve Jobs and Walt Disney, transformed their respective fields.

The Yeezus Tour was a feat in terms of design and production, but the Saint Pablo Tour is a feat in terms of engineering—and few artists can say they’ve created a transcendent experience that goes beyond what is expected of a “concert.”

Kanye West announced the dates for his highly anticipated   Saint Pablo tour today via Tidal . The tour will begin August 25 in Indianapolis, and conclude Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, hitting almost 40 major cities across North America. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, with a special preorder period for American Express cardholders today at 10 a.m., and another preorder period for Tidal subscribers beginning Thursday at 10 a.m.

The Life of Pablo set several records for Tidal upon its release on Feb. 14. For the first 10 days of its release, the album surpassed 250 million streams and reportedly doubled the streaming service’s subscriber base from one million to 2.5 million. After a short window of exclusivity for Tidal, the album was released on other platforms like Apple Music and Spotify , increasing its dominance in the music streaming market even more.

Back in April, Yeezy revealed some information regarding a possible tour when he thanked his fans on Twitter who all helped get TLOP to No. 1. “I’m so happy that you guys like the music… I’m working on the tour designs now…,” he wrote .

During an interview on Steve Harvey’s show  the following month he confirmed the tour would start sometime in September.

"You know my tour game is strong," he said. "My tour game is unprecedented. So we're going to go out in September I believe, and we're just working on some of the ideas right now. But as I said before, I'm trying to literally inspire these kids the way Disney inspired me when I saw the original Star Wars ."

Kim Kardashian hinted that the tour dates would be coming out today in a tweet yesterday.

Kanye West – the 22-time Grammy Award winning, visionary multi-disciplinary artist who has sold over 30 Million albums worldwide and has twice been named to Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world -  today unveils details for THE SAINT PABLO TOUR.

Kanye returns to North American arenas for the first time in three years.  2013’s historic Yeezus Tour saw jubilant, sold-out crowds and unprecedented acclaim.  Reviewing the tour opener, the Seattle Times raved "A deific spectacle of a set…a two-hour rap-opera of a performance that was grandiose yet minimal, unsettling yet inspirational...There are very few modern artists with the kind of vision, ambition, and means to execute it as Kanye West right now…a distinct statement of his combined artistic ambition, penchant for excess, and desire to simply outdo every other entertainer out right now." “Awe-inspiring,” said Rolling Stone. “Truly electrifying…The stage as imagined and executed by West was truly something to behold.”

“Brilliant,” raved the New York Post. “The Yeezus tour is more than just a concert. It's an extravaganza of music and theater…a combination which makes him the most fascinating musical figure of our time and makes this tour an unmissable spectacle.”

With Kanye's history-making live performances continuing to innovate the concert experience and set new standards for the visual medium, THE SAINT PABLO TOUR is the most anticipated concert event of the year.  Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 18 at www.livenation.com.

Kanye West released his seventh solo album, The Life Of Pablo, to universal critical acclaim. The New York Times, on its front page, declared: “With flux embedded in its DNA, “Pablo” is crisply alive, like water that’s still boiling even though the flame is off. Pay close attention to the multiple iterations and you hear an artist at work…It’s everything bared — process as art.” Rolling Stone raved: “a complex, conflicted masterpiece.” “His devotion to the craft of album-making remains his greatest talent,” Pitchfork mused. “Albums are his legacy…His ability to package hundreds of stray threads into a whole that feels not just thrilling, but inevitable - at this, he is better than everyone.” And USA Today simply asked: “Is Kanye West the greatest artist of the 21st century?”
