Review ★★★★★

“It’s really a good spot to bring your family for a day. My kids loved it. The spacing is good enough that you can walk around, but there are shuttles. Beware you can’t bring food in, even snacks for your kids. I guess they think you might feed the food to the animals. They have a food restaurants strategically along the pathway. So be sure to bring some cash with you incase you get hungry or thirsty, which you will.”

– Tony Stanyer

“Money well spent! The place is well-maintained, staff are nice and there are lots of cool animals to see! Everyone should consider this as part of the itinerary when they visit Cebu.”

– Keith Laganao

“The park may be far from the city, but the experience is worth it. It is designed beautifully, very organized, and clean. The landscape is so awesome. There are so many restaurants placed in strategic locations. The staffs are professional and very friendly. Experiencing the place will be an experience of a lifetime.”

– Mark & Maolyn Diongco

“We had great experience with nature here. Seeing the animal’s habitat and had some facts along the ways is a good way of knowing them. Had witnessed the birdshow and its fantastic. I wanna go back here next year.”

– Christian Philip

“To enjoy and appreciate this park fully get a tour guide. You won’t regret it”

– Edwin Grajo

“I was really amazed by the enormity of the venue. The animals are well maintained and the variety is amazing. Even though, it is lacking some animal shows, like in Singapore or Hong Kong, but I was assured that it is coming. The orchids garden is also attractive with so many species.”

– James Rockwell

“Want a safari adventure? Then this is the place to go. With so many animals to view, lions, zebras, orangutans and many more. They also have a flower garden, orchid garden, bird show and many more. Don’t worry about the food, they have plenty of restaurants. Now, they have new adventure rides, like the zipline, sky bicycle and the ATV trail ride.”

– Joel Borga

This is one of the best zoos in the world! I’m amazed and impressed by the quality of the place and the health of the animals. Such a rare jewel in the Philippines. I’d say this is a must see if you’re visiting Cebu and have had your fill of beach days.

– Marcy Babor

“Truly worth the travel and worth the pay! Everything was in proper order and I so love the place and the animals of course I love how me and my family enjoyed our trip here! “

– Ebeb Gen

As a Canadian who has been to many zoos in the world (Toronto metro zoo, Canada, Artis in the Netherlands, Berlin zoo, Germany to name a few ) Cebu Safari & Adventure Park ranks up there with the best of them. I’ve been there twice and will be going back again. Beautiful zoo and gardens. Do yourself a favor and just GO!!!

Just want to commend the management. It was a beautiful experience for the entire family. To start with, you have courteous employees in the field, and they seem to love their job. The animals are healthy and looks well fed. It was indeed beyond our expectation. Looking forward to more animals and more activities and events ahead. Happy New Year!

In fairness, the safety and hygiene protocols as well as the service at the Cebu Safari were impressive.

Even if it’s not my first time, the park always offers a unique experience bcoz I never know what the “residents” will be doing…Sometimes they show up, other times not; some put on a show, others sit still like statues (haha)..I don’t get tired of looking at the giraffes feeding… or the birds preening… I wonder where the camels are at, and why the snakes have taken a back stage. I just wish there were more educational talks, even recorded ones…Oh well, but I do love the place so much! Thanks!

We really enjoy touring the whole Cebu Safari…Despite the Pandemic we had given the chance to visit the most amazing place in our neighboring town…All the staff are very accommodating…All of us had enjoy especially the kids…I would definitely recommend this place as one of the best place to visit…???

Service was impeccable. Kudos to their staffs especially at the camp area and reception. The place was also amazingly clean. Old and young can come together and enjoy mother nature at its fullest.

Staff – 10/10 customer service Place – 10/10 Stuff to learn – 10/10 The fauna – well managed and well treated The flora – superb! Salute to the landscape work Experience – awesome

We are definitely coming back and will tag along more people with us

The World’s Best Safari Parks

Which safari park is your pick for best ever.

Always wanted to take a real African safari but never had the time or money to do it? Safari parks are the next best thing, and give people of all ages the chance to see African wildlife up close – with no bars or cages to ruin the views.

In this piece, we’ve picked out the top seven safari parks in the world for a traditional African safari experience. Whilst a safari park can never be as immersive as a real African safari, a day or overnight trip to a great safari park might at least get you in the mood to save up for the real thing!

Read on below for our pick of the world’s seven best safari parks along with a map showing the location of all safari parks worldwide:

Safari West, California, USA

Set in the middle of California’s wine country, Safari West styles itself as a “Sonoma Serengeti” with savannah-style landscape. The 400-acre safari park has 800 free-roaming animals from herds of kudu , zebra , antelope, Cape buffalo , and gazelle , to huge African rhinos and giraffe .

Safari West offers “the ultimate private safari” excursions where a private group of up to 10 people is taken on an exclusive safari ride with a guide, and like some true luxury African safaris you can add wine, cheese, and chocolate to your safari should you need an appetitive whilst game viewing. The private safari is essentially a 3-hour guide-led drive through the safari park in an authentic safari vehicle.

For a complete safari experience, you can spend a night on site with views over a lake or nestled in the woods with a true bushveld feel. The accommodation is in authentic African safari tents with a luxury twist, built on wooden platforms with large decking areas for lounging and taking in the views. If tents aren’t your idea of luxury then cottages are available too.

Wildlife reserves singapore, singapore.

The Singapore night safari is rightly a world-renowned safari experience. The safari park has eight geographical regions – linked by three walking trails and a tram route – to observe the primarily nocturnal animals from around the world. The reserve has an “Equatorial Africa” section of the park, which fits nicely with Singapore’s warm and moist climate throughout the year. Ample sunlight and rain support luxuriant tropical forests. In this part of the safari park you can expect to see Cape giraffe , serval , and bongo – the largest of Africa’s forest antelopes.

Disney don’t bill their Wildlife Kingdom as a safari park, but rather the largest animal-themed park in the world. And with 250 species made up of more than 1,700 animals roaming 2 km sq they may well be right.

The entire park is split into seven areas, one of which is “Africa” themed. One adrenalin-pumping safari offering in this area is the “Wild Trek Africa” experience – a privately guided expedition which features close encounters with Nile crocodiles and huge hippos whilst hanging from a harness 10 feet in the air! If that’s a bit too hair-raising you can always take a more traditional open-sided safari vehicle for a game ride through acres of replica savanna, rivers, and rocky hills. Expect to see elephant, giraffe, pelican, cheetah, lion, oryx , black and white rhino , and just about any other wildlife you’d hope to spot in Africa.

The wilds, ohio, usa.

The Wilds safari park in Ohio offers a fairly authentic safari experience. You can buy a “Safari Transport Pass” to get shuttled around a selection of enclosures (Lake Trail, Mid-Sized Carnivores, Wetland, Pasture and Outpost), each with a selection of impressive African wildlife. The game highlights are the giraffe, rhino, zebra, cheetah and African wild dog.

In the “Pasture” area dozens of grazing species of African animals roam free, whilst the predators are kept separately for obvious reasons! A guided open vehicle safari gets you immersed in the rolling countryside and gives you the best opportunity to view all of the game on offer.

West midlands safari park, west midlands, uk.

The American-run “West Midland Safari and Leisure Park” has been in operation since 1973. Here you can drive yourself around the “Africa Reserve”, a large open area that is home to a group of Southern white rhinos, along with plenty of other savannah grazers including giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, eland and the swamp-dwelling red lechwe. Other enclosures containing fabulous wildlife you can drive through include cheetahs , a large pack of the very endangered African wild dog, African elephants, and of course the mighty white lion.

Longleat Safari & Adventure Park, Wiltshire, UK

Whilst Africa will always be the home of the safari drive, the first drive-through safari park outside of Africa opened in 1966 at Longleat as a 100-acre reserve for 50 lions. Set within the grounds of the Longleat House stately home, the safari park has grown and is now home to dozens of African animal species. There’s still a large pride of lions, now complemented by cheetah , rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra and a plethora of African monkeys.

Whilst you can choose to drive yourself around a number of large enclosures, Longleat also offers a range of VIP guided tours – from a couple of hours to a full day. These take the form of being driven around the safari park by an expert guide in one of the specialised safari vehicles.

Taman safaris, various destinations, indonesia.

Taman Safari Indonesia are safari parks in East Java, West Java and Bali, known as Taman Safari I, II and III respectively. Taman Safari I is the most popular and largest of the three safari parks and has over 2,500 animals, the majority of which are Indonesian and include tigers, orangutans, elephants, sun bears and komodo dragons.

It’s a drive-through safari park where you can get very close to the wildlife. Those on the hunt for an authentic African safari experience won’t be disappointed and can keep an eye out for the resident hippo, zebra, cheetah and giraffe. There are both camping and bungalows available to those who’d like to stay in the safari park overnight to soak up the atmosphere.

Taman Safari III is also known as Bali Safari and Marine Park – more of a theme park than a safari park, but highly popular with tourists none-the-less.

The biggest draw of a safari park is that game animals roam free in large enclosures which you can take a safari drive through – either on your own or with a guide. There are also options for walking safaris in some safari parks.

Safari parks are generally much larger than zoos, though they cover only a minuscule area when compared to the game reserves and national parks in Africa ( which can be up to 55,000 km sq ).

What’s your take on safari parks – decent African safari alternative, or little more than glorified zoos? Get involved in the comments below and let us know your thoughts on our list of the world’s best safari parks.

Safari and wildlife parks allow visitors to get up close and personal with some of the world's most rare and endangered animals. And the most outstanding safari parks — like these 10 that have been selected by an expert panel and voted by readers as the best in the country — aim to educate visitors about the animals and the threats their natural populations face, as well as encourage conservation efforts.

B. Bryan Preserve

No. 10: B. Bryan Preserve - Point Arena, California

The B. Bryan Preserve on California's Mendocino Coast has a mission to breed and preserve African hoofstock. Visitors to this Point Arena wildlife park have the opportunity to observe rare and endangered animals, including antelope, zebra, kudu, and giraffe in large, open fields similar to their natural habitats. Available by reservation only, car safaris and guided tours give visitors an up-close view of each species.

Keystone Safari

No. 9: Keystone Safari - Grove City, Pennsylvania

Keystone Safari, an interactive zoo and adventure park in Grove City, Pennsylvania, is devoted to protecting wildlife, including rare and endangered animals. The 144-acre park has both walk-thru and open-area drive-thru sections where visitors can view animals, including guanacos, donkeys, ponies, Highland cattle, emu, zebras, deer, yak, turkeys, and more.

Bearizona Wildlife Park

No. 8: Bearizona Wildlife Park - Williams, Arizona

Visitors to Bearizona, situated on 160 acres of land near the town of Williams, drive through more than 3 miles of ponderosa pine forest on a safari to see North American animals in natural habitats. After the driving portion of the park, guests can head on foot through Fort Bearizona, where winding walkways lead past smaller animals on exhibit. Guests can interact with animals in the Bearizona Barnyard petting zoo or learn more about the animals on display during daily keeper chats.

Lion Country Safari

No. 7: Lion Country Safari - Loxahatchee, Florida

Palm Beach may be far away from the wilds of Africa, but it’s also home to Florida’s largest drive-through safari, the AZA-accredited Lion Country Safari. Established in 1967, this safari park invites visitors to observe and interact with nearly 1,000 animals divided between seven sections. Guests might spot storks, wildebeest, and impalas on the Serengeti Plains, observe a pride of lions in Gorongosa Reserve, or see giraffes and endangered rhinos in Hwange National Park.

The Wilds

No. 6: The Wilds - Cumberland, Ohio

An AZA-accredited branch of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, The Wilds helps visitors gain a fresh perspective on endangered species through a series of immersive experiences within the nearly-10,000-acre park. Rare and endangered animals from around the globe — particularly Africa and Asia — live in open-range habitats that visitors can explore via open-air safari vehicle.

Safari West

No. 5: Safari West - Santa Rosa, California

A bit of Africa in the heart of California’s wine country, Safari West welcomes guests to the "Sonoma Serengeti," where a 3-hour riding and walking adventure takes them through the 400-acre preserve. Giraffes, zebras, oryx, gazelles, antelopes, buffalo, wildebeest, and many other species number among nearly 900 animals that call the park home. For an even more in-depth safari experience, visitors can choose to stay the night in a luxurious safari tent and fall asleep to the sounds of nocturnal animals.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

No. 4: San Diego Zoo Safari Park - Escondido, California

At the AZA-accredited San Diego Zoo Safari Park, visitors can observe rhinos with their young, watch an elephant herd splash through a pond, or see lions basking in the sun. A tram transports guests through the 1,800 African-themed acres that more than 300 species call home.

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

No. 3: Fossil Rim Wildlife Center - Glen Rose, Texas

Open to the public since 1984, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center's key mission is to protect and grow the populations of indigenous and exotic endangered and threatened species through captive breeding programs. During their visit, people of all ages can drive along the 7.2-mile Gosdin Scenic Drive to admire these animals in natural settings. Animal species include emus, zebras, rhinoceros, giraffes, and more. At the Children's Animal Center, you can also see tortoises, goats, and macaws.

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge

Comprised of dense forest, lush grasslands, and blue lakes along with fascinating beasts like leopards, elephants, monkeys, and crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species, Yala Park is a dream safari destination alright. Travelers who go deeper into the park will be rewarded with a chance to explore pilgrimage sites, caves marked with century-old rock paintings, and the ancient Buddhist ruins of Magul Maha Viharaya.

7. Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe ’s largest safari destination doesn’t disappoint. Sprawled across 14,651 square kilometres, you’ll encounter elephant herds, lions, and African wild dogs in the grasslands and mopane woods found in the area. While there’s plenty of wildlife to feast your eyes on (107 animal species and 400 breeds of bird), elephants are what make Hwange so magical; the park is home to one of the largest populations on the planet.

8. South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

There are lots of places to discover the wildlife in Africa , but the sheer density of animals makes South Luangwa one of the continent’s best safari destinations. The open plains are home to marching elephants, impalas, pukus, and buffaloes, meanwhile hippos take dips in the river and leopards hunt for their next meal. If that doesn’t delight, look up to the sky, and you’ll see hundreds of birds flying above you.

9. Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya

The wilderness of Masai Mara is stunning. The Mara and Talek rivers snake through grasslands, river woodlands, and acacia trees, while the animal kingdom’s finest go about their day. Lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos can be found in their natural habitat, and wildebeest too, as they pass through these lands for their annual migration. Along with the wildlife, visitors can explore the nearby Masaai villages and learn about their customs from locals.

10. Etosha National Park, Namibia

Even if you’ve been on a safari in Africa before, Etosha National Park is a different experience altogether. Firstly, Namibia ’s landscape in vivid colours is incredible as it is, but the sight of hundreds of animals flocking to the watering holes is spellbinding. In other parks, visitors go looking for animals, but here, they will make their way to you, lions, elephants, and other creatures will all come out to play.

11. Chobe National Park, Botswana

Chobe is Botswana ’s first national park and famed for being biologically diverse. Picture antelopes galloping across the plains, hippos seeking cool respite in the lagoons of Linyanti Marsh, and herds of elephants and Cape buffalo flocking to the Chobe riverfront. Even when you’re not watching for animals in the wild, camp under the stars and you have different ways to immerse yourself in the wilderness.

12. Bwindi Impenetrable National  Park, Uganda

Bwindi’s mountainous terrain is home to many of the world’s remaining gorillas. In this biodiverse region, this endangered species has some much-needed peace and can be observed feeding off ancient roots and trees native to the region. Make your way to the dense forests of Bwindi for a rare chance to experience something out of this world: gorillas in the wild.

13. Kalahari Desert, Botswana

Spread across three countries, a considerable mass of Botswana, parts of Namibia and South Africa , the Kalahari is an amazing and surreal safari destination. It’s home to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, which is one of the last unspoiled ecosystems on the planet. It may be arid, but it’s brimming with wildlife, roaring lions and cackling hyenas are just some of the creatures found here.

Wildlife Parks & Zoos

Not all of Idaho’s wildlife exists in the deep woods. Many bird and animal species can be seen in Idaho’s zoos, and in wildlife parks, preserves and management areas. The fastest animal in the world, the Peregrine Falcon, can be seen at the World Center for Birds of Prey, along with raptors from around the globe. See grizzlies and black bears up close at Yellowstone Bear World and experience another side of Idaho’s wildlife.

Hi there, I'm looking to travel overland to moscow via Istanbul with http://www.offthewalladventures.co.uk and I'm looking for advice and general info that you don't get in guide books.

Any useful info greatly recieved cheers.

safari adventure park world

That looks like a great trip you are going to do!!

To have a beer with your co-driver, in Moscow, you should go to kruzhka. There you can get cheap beers, russian food and meet the local people. But don't expect the people to speak anything else than russian ;) Anyways, to go to Russia, you should learn the Cyrillic alphabet (to read the signs) and a few handy/polite words because most of the people don't speak english at all.

if you need more tips, just let me know.

Giraffe’s nibble turns into airborne safari adventure for Texas toddler

  • Published: Jun. 07, 2024, 12:28 p.m.

  • The Associated Press

GLEN ROSE, Texas (AP) — A Texas family got a brief scare when a nibble from a giraffe turned a 2-year-old’s safari visit into an airborne adventure.

Paisley Toten was in the bed of a pickup truck on June 1 when her family drove through the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, where visitors can see exotic animals such as zebras, giraffes and sable antelope, and feed some of them from their car.

The family had stopped to feed a giraffe when it grabbed Paisley’s shirt with its mouth and lifted her several feet. Paisley’s mother was in the pickup bed with her and shouted, prompting the giraffe to drop the toddler into her arms unhurt. Video of the encounter taken from the car behind went viral. The girl’s family also shot their own video.

“Paisley was holding the bag and the giraffe went to go get the bag, not get her, but ended up getting her shirt too and picking her up,” Jason Toten, the girl’s father, told television station KWTX.

“My heart stopped, my stomach dropped … it scared me,” Toten said.

The family then took the girl to the shop and bought her a toy giraffe.

Park rules when the family visited allowed riding in an open truck bed as long as an adult was riding with any children. The park on Thursday changed its safety rules to require everyone to stay inside their vehicles with doors closed.
