It’s been years since the news popped off on social media. But just as a refresher, here’s Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s affair timeline. The two are arguably one of the greatest power couples in modern time, but their relationship has had the spotlight on some sour moments.

In 2007, Jay-Z told Charlie Rose he met Beyoncé “10 years ago,” or in 1997. Queen B told  Seventeen  a year later that “I was 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started dating. The relationship culminated years later when Beyoncé made her solo debut in 2003 with her first single “Crazy in Love” featuring her now-husband.

The two secretly tied the knot in 2008. “It was a very emotional wedding—lots of crying—and really very spiritual,” a source told  People .  It was held at Jay’s 13,5000-square-foot penthouse in New York City; instead of rings, they both tattooed the number 4 in Roman numerals on their ring fingers.

“There was no rush—no one expected me to run off and get married,” Beyoncé told  Seventeen . “ I really don’t believe that you will love the same thing when you’re 20 as you do at 30. So that was my rule: Before the age of 25, I would never get married. I feel like you have to get to know yourself, know what you want, spend some time by yourself, and be proud of who you are before you can share that with someone else.”

However, their relationship had some road bumps which sparked some of the greatest pop culture moments in history. Here’s a timeline of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s affair.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Affair timeline

Singers Solange Knowles and Beyonce attend the Balmain and Olivier Rousteing after the Met Gala Celebration on May 02, 2016 in New York, New York.

Jay-Z’s affair rumors were rampantly spread after the 2014 Met Gala. TMZ released footage of Beyoncé’s sister Solange attacking the “Empire State of Mind” rapper in an elevator. The motive behind the attack was never disclosed, but fans suspected that it had to do with Jay-Z cheating on her sister.

The two later made a statement: “There has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day, families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

Beyoncé referenced the moment in her song “Flawless,” Of course, sometimes shit go down / When it’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”

July 2014: Rumors of Jay-Z and Beyoncé Divorce Plans emerge

Jay-Z and Beyonce attend the "Charles James: Beyond Fashion" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, 2014 in New York City.

Amid the On The Run tour, rumors emerged of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s split amid the cheating rumors. “They are trying to figure out a way to split without divorcing. This is a huge concert tour, and they’ve already gotten most of the money from the promoters up front,” a source told  Page Six . “Jay was outdoing Jay, and Bey was outdoing Bey. They made the classic mistake of thinking a child would change everything and help to rekindle the initial fire, and it didn’t.”

The identity of the woman that Jay-Z cheated on Beyoncé with has not been revealed. It was rumored that he had an affair with Rita Ora, who signed to his label Roc Nation in 2008. However, Ora  vehemently denied  the rumors. Rumors of Jay-Z’s infidelity first emerged when security camera footage caught Beyoncé’s sister Solange attacking the rapper in an elevator.

Roy’s posts fueled the rumors after she posted an Instagram post close to the release of  Lemonade . “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens,” she wrote in a now-deleted post in which BeyHive swarmed the comments.

In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, Jay-Z admitted that he cheated on Beyoncé. “So even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect…. In my case, like, it’s deep,” he told the outlet. “And then all the things happen from there: infidelity. We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together. And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on. Um, we still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became. There was never a point where it was like, ‘I’m making this album.’ I was right there the entire time.”

She also directly references the emotions Jay-Z felt during the scandal. “I know nobody’s perfect so I’ll let you be, I’ll let you be. It’s the way that you wear your emotions on both of your sleeves, ’til the face you make when I tell you that I had to leave,” she sings on the track “Plastic on the Sofa.” “We don’t need the world’s acceptance. They’re too hard on me, they’re too hard on you, boy.”

March 29, 2024: Beyoncé releases Cowboy Carter

Beyonce Texas Hold Em Beyoncé and Jay-Z attend the 66th GRAMMY Awards at Crypto.com Arena on February 04, 2024 in Los Angeles, California

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter includes a reimagined cover of “Jolene by Dolly Parton. While the original song pleads for another woman to not steal her man, Beyoncé takes it to another level so that the woman doesn’t even think to go near her man—seemingly referring to the cheating scandal.

“I’m warning you, don’t come for my man,” Queen Bey croons. She turns it up even more with lyrics like, “You don’t want this smoke so shoot your shot with someone else,” “I’m still a Creole banjee bitch from Louisiana’” and “Your peace depends on how you move, Jolene.”

“Hey, Ms. Honey Bee, it’s Dolly P.,” the legendary country singer says in an  interlude  aptly called “Dolly P.” “You know that hussy with the good hair you sing about? Reminded me of someone I knew back when, except she has flaming locks of auburn hair, bless her heart. Just a hair of a different color, but it hurts just the same.”

Beyonce Changes Lyrics in Song About Cheating During Concert

Bey and Jay’s On the Run tour is leaving a lasting impression—and then some. Beyonce changed lyrics to her 2006 song “Resentment” during the spouses’ joint concert in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, June 28, leaving fans to wonder whether she’s talking about a cheating scandal behind-the-scenes.

“Been ridin’ with you for twelve years. Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?” Queen Bey sang to the packed crowd. In actuality, the original lyric should read: “Been ridin’ with you for six years. Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?”

Number-wise, the feisty yet emotional song about heartbreak and cheating appeared on Beyonce’s album B’Day in 2006. The power couple dated for several years before secretly tying the knot in 2008.

Beyonce and Jay Z have been under a magnifying glass since their now famous elevator fight with Solange Knowles during the Met Gala afterparty at NYC’s Standard Hotel in May. However, since the incident the trio have been on happier terms following a quick trip to New Orleans and after releasing a statement to clear the air.

The couple shared footage of their 2008 nuptials during Miami’s show on June 25, and Beyonce posted a joyful snapshot of the two via Instagram on June 29. At the time, the pair appeared to be backstage after a performance drinking champagne.

Is Jay Z Cheating on Beyonce?

on the run tour cheating

It feels like a lifetime since the infamous Jay Z and Solange elevator fight video was floating around the Internet. Among the numerous potential explanations for the fight was a particularly surprising one. Some theorized that Solange was attacking Jay Z because he had been cheating on Beyoncé — which, they went on to say, explained why Beyoncé didn't do very much to stop her. The rumors didn't really gain traction despite Rita Ora being asked about a Jay Z affair , likely because Jay Z and Beyoncé are the closest that America is going to get to a universally beloved royal couple. However, Beyoncé brought the rumors back during the On the Run Tour , though it seems pretty inadvertent.

Beyoncé and Jay Z have essentially built their whole tour around remixing and renewing their songs, keeping their fans on their toes, making sure that we're getting a true performance rather than a live repeat of songs we could hear better on the CD. During their Saturday night show, Beyoncé improvised some lines to her 2006 song "Resentment" and her improvisation was... unsettling.

"Been ridin' with you for 12 years, why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?" she sang, when the original line from the song sets the ridin' bar at six years not 12. Although Beyoncé and Jay Z have only been married for six years now, their first duet together was "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" which was released 12 years ago in 2002. Since the rest of "Resentment" tells the story of a woman who has been scorned by a man who threw her over for a more attractive one, it's no wonder that fans were left reeling by this.

However, if we've learned anything at all from Elevatorgate, it's that Beyoncé Knowles is not the kind of woman to air her dirty laundry on stage in front of thousands of people. She's just not. Her private life was just on blast due to a leaked video and we still can't drag a single word out of her about what went down. Branding Jay Z a cheater in a line in a song performed during their joint tour ? That's so not Beyoncé.

It seems far more likely that her sudden burst of inspiration was poking fun at the rumors rather than confirming them. After all, it's not like Beyoncé is ignorant about what people say about her and Jay Z even if she prefers to ignore it most of the time. She's probably sitting somewhere laughing that she and Jay Z can have a child together, stand strong through Elevatorgate together, go on tour together and still have people think they're having marital troubles all with a single word change in a song.

on the run tour cheating

Am I saying that Jay Z has never cheated on Beyoncé? Well, personally, I think he'd be rather stupid to, but the fact of the matter is that we have absolutely no way of knowing. If Beyoncé and Jay Z are having marital problems, then we as the fans would be the last people to know about it. The fact that we even have enough straight from Beyoncé's mouth to speculate is more than enough proof that nothing's going on.

And, in case that's not enough, there's also the fact that Beyoncé has flooded her website with pictures of herself and Jay Z (with bonus Blue!) on vacation and on their tour, just as she flooded her Instagram with pictures of herself and Solange in the aftermath of Elevatorgate. The only real difference here is that Elevatorgate actually happened, while Jay Z cheating on Beyoncé probably didn't.

The 32-year-old singer changed one very important lyric to the song “Resentment” while performing it live during the couple’s On the Run Tour in Ohio Saturday.

While belting out the track, which is about a woman who was cheated on, Queen Bey sang “been riding with you for 12 years” instead of the original words “been riding with you for six years.”

When Beyonce first recorded her version of the song for her second studio album, “B’day,” in 2006, she and Jay had been dating for four years.

In an interview at the time for 4Music, an entertainment channel in the UK, Blue Ivy’s mama said it was a song she was the most proud of on “B’day.”

Beyonce and Jay Z spent Monday afternoon shopping with daughter Blue Ivy in East Hampton, N.Y.

“The song on my new album I am proudest of is probably “Resentment. I feel like vocally I’ve grown, I feel like all the chord changes and the beautiful harmonies and the lyrics is something that I really am proud of,” she said in a video clip.

Jay Z and Beyonce first met when they collaborated on hit track “Bonnie & Clyde” in 2002 and went on to say “I do” in April 2008.

Now, the married pair have been together for a total of 12 years prompting speculation that she was redirecting the song at the infidelity within her own marriage.

A member of the Ohio audience captured the part of the performance in question and uploaded it to YouTube, as first pointed out by the Daily Mirror.

The songstress wore a wedding getup onstage while she sang the sad song and the crowd roared when she swapped out the line from six years to 12.

Rumors of trouble in paradise between Bey and Jay were recently stirred up when Beyonce’s little sister, Solange Knowles, was caught on camera attacking her famous brother-in-law in an elevator brawl in early May.

A rep for the singers has yet to return the Daily News’ request for comment.

We Finally Understand Those Jay-Z Cheating Rumors

Jay-Z, Beyoncé

When you've got " a billion dollars on an elevator ," drama is bound to follow. Jay-Z and Beyoncé — the reigning king and queen of hip hop — were infamously met with an avalanche of cheating rumors when a leaked security tape  appeared to depict Queen Bey's sister, Solange, clocking Jay-Z with her purse in an elevator following the 2014 Met Gala. This was probably the most interesting thing to happen at the event in years, but it wasn't actually where the infidelity speculation began.

Way back before the longtime couple quietly  tied the knot  in 2008, cheating hearsay reportedly caused them to secretly split ... and rumors regarding Jay-Z's alleged adulterous behavior have been swarming in the Beyhive ever since. It certainly didn't help that Beyoncé left a mountain of infidelity breadcrumbs on her 2016 album,  Lemonade , which sent her devoted fans into a fervent investigation about the identity of the rapper's alleged mistress, affectionately known as " Becky with the good hair ." For his part, Jay-Z later confirmed the accusations in 4:44 . We might not know exactly who Becky is, but we do finally understand those Jay-Z cheating rumors, and how the Carters managed to come back from them.

Jay-Z's cheating rumors all started with Rihanna

Jay-Z  and  Beyoncé  had a few drama-free years before an onslaught of cheating rumors started to dampen the facade of their  seemingly perfect relationship . Jay-Z once told  Vanity Fair  that the two were "just beginning to try to date each other" in 2001. Flash forward four years, and reports surrounding Jay's alleged affair with protege  Rihanna  began to hit the headlines and strain his relationship with the former  Destiny's Child  star. According to J. Randy Taraborrelli, who wrote Bey's unauthorized biography, the pair  secretly separated  because "Beyoncé didn't know what to make of" the RiRi speculation (via  Entertainment Tonight ).

When Beyoncé released the raucous breakup track, "Ring the Alarm," in 2006, members of the Beyhive  assumed  the other "chick" in the song was Rihanna and the "dog" in the lyrics was Jay-Z, though Beyoncé's camp reportedly denied those connections.

But was there any truth to the gossip? Taraborrelli didn't think Jay actually cheated on Bey and instead alleged that the rumors were manufactured by Rihanna's publicist, Jonathan Hay, to boost her career. Hay reportedly owned up to the ordeal in a 2015 email to the  New York Daily News , admitting he'd apologized to both Jay and RiRi for making things up and claiming the "whole thing is very awkward."

Rita Ora was the next suspect on the list

In the years following that publicist-invented Rihanna drama, Jay-Z and Beyoncé finally tied the knot in 2008 at the rapper's lavish Manhattan penthouse, according to People , and welcomed  daughter Blue Ivy four years later. In 2013, the Carters dueted on " Part II (On the Run) " off of Jay's  Magna Carta Holy Grail  and Queen Bey dropped her HBO documentary,  Life Is But a Dream .  Unfortunately, things couldn't stay smooth-sailing for the married pair forever, and one  Rita Ora was the next person to get stuck in the insidious honey of the Beyhive.

According to The Times , Jay-Z signed the "Your Song" hitmaker to his Roc Nation label in 2008. While their professional partnership ended in a dramatic lawsuit  by 2015, the duo was previously hit with rumors of an alleged affair in 2013. However, Ora  adamantly denied  the claims. When the hosts of Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club  brought the cheating allegations up during a 2014 interview, Ora said, "Don't you dare disrespect Beyoncé like that ever again in your entire life" (via MTV ). She added, "You should know better than that ... That's just straight up disrespect. You can't even go there."

A female rapper claimed to turn down Jay-Z's advances

Jay-Z's got " 99 problems " ... and it seems like women might be a fair share of them. Amid the Rita Ora controversy in 2013, former model and rapper Liv detailed her own potential affair with Jay in the song, " The Invasion Part Two ." According to the  Daily Mail , Liv rapped about reportedly turning Jay-Z down because she "got respect for Bey" (whom she later dissed in " The Invasion Part Five ").

While speaking with Radar Online at the time, Liv claimed she met Jay-Z in 2008 while filming a Budweiser commercial in Miami, Fla. While the pair "really connected," she declined when he allegedly sent over a bodyguard to get her number. "I was like, that's so wrong," Liv claimed. "One, that's really immature to send the bodyguard to get my number. Two, I'm not somebody that would just get a call when he's in town." However, she reportedly gave him her number after running into him again, but allegedly never heard from him after she sent him some  music . Of course, this isn't to surprising considering she tried to make a career out of dissing major rap stars like  Kendrick Lamar , P. Diddy , and Nicki Minaj . That said, Liv later denied the very rumors she helped start in " Sorry, Mrs. Carter ."

Was Jay-Z caught getting flirty with a Belgian beauty?

Chalk it up to the success of Jay-Z's  Magna Carta Holy Grail or Beyoncé's self-titled album , but the time surrounding the couple's joint  On the Run tour was rife with cheating rumors after the rapper allegedly got a little too flirty with a Belgian beauty queen. According to the  Mirror , Jay-Z reportedly met model Claudia Scheelen in Antwerp's Magic nightclub during the summer of 2013. She claimed she was hanging out with some friends at the time when he sent them a "huge bottle of Ace of Spades champagne" and allegedly told her, "I've been all over the entire world, but the girls in Antwerp are the prettiest girls," but "didn't mention Beyoncé or Blue once." Ouch .

Here's the thing: This tiny flirtation — if even true — might not have been off-limits at all. According to Star magazine, the Carters were reportedly mulling over a trial separation around this time and fighting over conflicting tour schedules, which had resulted in Bey calling Jay "selfish" (via  Hollywood Life ). With Beyoncé reportedly feeling like a single mother, Jay-Z apparently visited her in Australia during her  Mrs. Carter tour in an attempt to make amends. That said,  Hollywood Life  later dispelled these reports with an anonymous source claiming no one was splitting up.

Jay-Z and Solange Knowles' elevator incident

In 2014, TMZ released the infamous elevator security video seen and heard around the world. Okay, the clip had no sound, but we are almost positive we heard Solange Knowles screaming at brother-in-law Jay-Z while appearing to smack him with her purse during a Met Gala after party held at the Standard Hotel. As the tale goes, Beyoncé reportedly didn't even try to break things up after the trio stepped into said elevator. The "Crazy in Love" singer even appeared to be smirking upon their final exit while her husband looked visibly shaken.

Following the release of the surveillance footage, fans immediately began speculating on what the heck could have possibly made Solange so mad. Controversial talk show host Wendy Williams helped stoke rumors that the argument was about Jay-Z's alleged infidelity with designer Rachel Roy. Meanwhile,  People claimed Solange was provoked after a run-in with the fashionista earlier in the night.

For his part, Jay-Z finally addressed the incident three years later — and cheating seemed to be at the root of it. "You egged Solange on / Knowin' all along, all you had to say you was wrong," he rapped on " Kill Jay Z " off his 2017 album  4:44 . "You almost went Eric Benét." For reference, singer-songwriter Benét famously cheated on actress  Halle Berry before announcing their split in 2003.

A lyric change dragged Mýa into the mix

Okay, so Beyoncé might have accidentally (or purposely) been the root of this rumor. In 2014, reports suggested that Jay-Z and Mýa, who'd worked together on the 2000 single " Best of Me (Part 2) ," were involved in a longtime alleged affair, according to the  Daily Mail . The rumors even suggested that the R&B singer had been financially supported by the rapper.

Though the parties in question initially ignored the hearsay, Queen Bey added fuel to the fire when she changed the lyrics to her cheating anthem, "Resentment," during an On the Run tour stop. In lieu of the original line, "Been riding with you for six years," she sang, "Been riding with you for 12 years" ... which was exactly how long she'd been with Jay-Z. Of course, the Beyhive went absolutely bonkers.

Why Mýa was brought into the cheating speculation has remained wholly unclear. However, she denied ever having an affair with Jay-Z in a since-deleted Instagram post. "I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage too much for nonsense," Mýa wrote (via the  New York Daily News ). "False rumors are crafted for ratings & numbers."

The Carters were 'on the run' from divorce rumors

All eyes were on Jay-Z and Beyoncé's relationship after Elevatorgate, with the ongoing cheating rumors getting a little hard to ignore as the pair embarked on their massive, co-headlining On the Run tour. According to Billboard , the tour was so successful it grossed around $100 million in ticket sales alone. Although everything seemed peachy keen on the surface, Page Six   reported that the Carters were "trying to figure out a way to split without divorcing." The media outlet claimed they'd reportedly brought marriage counselors along with them on the road, and apparently didn't want to jeopardize the gigs after receiving millions of dollars in advances from promoters. Basically, canceling would have effectively been a nightmare.

While Jay-Z and Beyoncé remained quiet about their apparent marital problems for years, the rapper later revealed how close they came to calling it quits. "You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something 'cause most people can't see themselves," the star  The New York Times' T Magazine  in 2017. "The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone's face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself."

'Lemonade' and '4:44' cracked the cheating rumors wide open

Beyoncé's 2016 visual album Lemonade read like a battle cry for every woman who's ever been cheated on. The single " Sorry " was particularly poignant and riddled with scathing lyrics, like a spoken word bit that begged the question: "What are you going to say at my funeral now that you've killed me? ... Ashes to ashes, dust to side chicks." The album more or less confirmed that Jay-Z had been unfaithful, and the rapper himself used his  4:44  album the following year to explore the complicated emotions that come up when you hurt someone you love. Both albums were deeply emotional and honest to the point that bordered on uncomfortable — and that was just for the fans.

In an interview with The New York Times' T Magazine , Jay-Z admitted that they'd used their musical outlets as a means of therapy, but noted that the reality was pretty excruciating and likened it to being in the middle of a hurricane. "And that's where we were sitting. And it was uncomfortable. And we had a lot of conversations," he said of the experience behind making the records. "You know. [I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released."

No, Rita Ora isn't 'Becky with the good hair'

Lemonade brought us the infamous controversy surrounding "Becky with the good hair," who fans presumed was Jay-Z's alleged mistress. Naturally, it didn't take long for the Beyhive to accuse a wealth of celebs of crossing their queen –  Taylor Swift , for example, was dragged into the mix because of an old Tumblr meme , while Rachael Ray was somehow  mistaken  for Rachel Roy.

For her part, Rita Ora accidentally put herself at the forefront of the suspect list after a 2016 Instagram Stories post seemingly served as an admission of guilt. According to  Cosmopolitan , she'd posed in a lemon emblazoned bra and an "R" pendant flipped around to look like a "J." This happened mere days before Lemonade 's release. Ora took to Twitter to dispel the rumors, and later went into detail about how she couldn't possibly be Becky in an interview with The Times   in 2018. "Hey, all I want to say to that is, dude, if I were Becky with the good hair, wouldn't I actually have to have good hair?" she said. "Look at it. It's all weave and extensions." Ora also notably called Bey the "nicest, bestest person."

... neither is Rachel Roy

Rachel Roy was cast as a prime suspect in Jay-Z's cheating saga from the moment Solange Knowles threw an alleged punch in that swanky hotel elevator. Linked to the rapper for years, the designer was previously married to his former Roc-A-Fella Records business partner, Damon Dash, who famously embarked on a long-running feud with Jay-Z after selling their stakes in the label to Island Def Jam (to be fair, neither would own up to the beef , though things were pretty icy ).

After Beyoncé dropped "Sorry," Roy seemingly incriminated herself as "Becky with the good hair" in a since-deleted Instagram post, which she captioned with: "Good hair don't care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always" (via  People ). Needless to say, the Beyhive lost it. However, Roy fiercely denied the very rumors she (accidentally) helped spark. In a statement released to the publication, she claimed her post was misunderstood and that there was "no validity to the idea that the song references me personally." She also wrote in a later-removed tweet that she respects "love, marriages, families and strength" (via by  People ).

So who is Becky? Well, the track's co-writer, Diana Gordon, suggested to  Entertainment Weekly   that none of the speculation was correct and called the whole thing "so silly."

How Jay-Z finally squashed those cheating rumors

The cheating rumors surrounding Jay-Z were finally put to rest in 2017 when he owned up to the act in an interview with  The New York Times' T Magazine . Of course, anyone who listened to Lemonade or 4:44 already pretty much knew what went down, but the rapper didn't go into much detail about how he and Beyoncé were doing in the wake of the revelation until his 2018 interview on David Letterman 's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction .

"I have a beautiful wife who's understanding and knew I'm not the worst of what I've done. We did the hard work of going to therapy and you know, we love each other, right?" Jay-Z said (via The Daily Beast ). "Like you, I like to believe we're in a better place today, but we're still working and communicating and growing."

For what it's worth, the Carters have since made a comeback as an apparent united front, reclaiming the throne as hip hop's reigning king and queen with the surprise release of their collaborative album,  Everything Is Love , in June 2018. If renting out  the Louvre  for their " Apes**t " music video wasn't an ode to them ruling over us civilians with their reported  $1.225 billion net worth , then what was it? The married pair pulled in a whopping $250 million  from their On The Run II tour that same year, proving they're all they  "need in this life of sin ."

Beyoncé Fuels Jay Z Cheating Speculation After Changing Song Lyrics During Concert, but Sweet New Photos Suggest All Is Well

Singer changed the words to reflect the time she's been with the rapper while singing about infidelity.

The rumor mill is back in business.

Speculation as to whether or not Beyoncé and Jay Z 's relationship is on the rocks has been on people's minds since the rapper's surprising confrontation with sister-in-law Solange Knowles in May, and now fans have again begun to wonder whether this Hollywood power couple has experienced trouble in paradise.

The famous pair is currently hitting stages across the country for their On the Run tour, and during their show on Saturday night in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bey decided to do a little improv with the lyrics to one of her songs—and it definitely caught the fans' attention.

PHOTOS: Beyoncé's top 10 songs of all time

Queen B performed "Resentment," a 2006 track off of her B'Day album, and changed the line "Been ridin' with you for six years why did I deserve/ To be treated this way by you," to "Been ridin' with you for twelve years why did I deserve/ To be treated this way by you," emphasizing the amount of years she's been with Jay Z and drawing loud roars from the crowd.

Subsequently, this has caused further speculation about whether or not there was infidelity in their relationship, because the entire song deals with cheating. To give you more of an idea, that particular verse goes a little something like this: "I know she was attractive but I was here first/ Been ridin' with you for six years why did I deserve/ To be treated this way by you, you/ I know your probably thinking what's up with Bee/ I been crying for too long what did you do to me."

So what's the deal? Sure, she could be drawing to her own music to vent about personal problems, but that just doesn't seem likely for numerous reasons.

First of all, Beyoncé isn't one to air her dirty laundry for all to examine and analyze, especially in front of thousands of screaming fans. Secondly, Jay Z is accompanying her on this tour, which would make this alleged outburst extra awkard (you know Hov was probably backstage giving side-eye to this entire situation).

Lastly, have you seen pictures from their tour so far?! These two have been flaunting their love more than ever before. From unveiling never-before-seen wedding footage to sneaking in some smooches while performing on stage, these two seem just as close now, if not closer, as they were from the start. That assless onesie probably helps matters, too.

In conclusion, we think this was just a play with words. Plus, she just posted these super-cute photos of her and Jay while on tour on her website , proving that everything is fine and dandy with their marriage.

Do you agree or do you think there's more to it? Sound off in the comments!

Did Beyonce Confirm Jay Z Cheating During Their ‘On The Run’ Tour? [Video]

Beyonce definitely gave people a reason to think that the Jay Z cheating rumors are true during her performance of 'Resentment' over the weekend.

The couples 'On The Run' tour was in Ohio over the weekend, and Beyonce stepped on stage wearing a wedding gown to sing 'Resentment.'

Now it should be stated that the song is about cheating, and could have absolutely nothing to do with Jay Z, but there were a few changes that made people think otherwise.

Beyonce changed the lyrics from "Been riding with you for six years" to "Been riding with you for 12 years" - the length of time she's been with Jay Z.

Some notable lines in the song include:

Look what you've done-done to me now, I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she's had half of me, she ain't even half of me."
I tried and I tried to forget this. But I'm too damn full of resentment. I know she was attractive but I was here first."

People are speculating about who the, "Her" could be referring to.  The obvious choices are Rihanna or Rita Ora , because of the earlier rumors around the two women.

So does that mean that Jay Z cheated on Beyonce?  Absolutely not.  This could just be a song about cheating that Beyonce wrote in 2006.

Do you think Beyonce was trying to tell the world something?

Check out one of the best cheater call outs of all time below.

Beyonce 'On The Run' Tour 2014 And 2015 No Longer Happening Due To Jay Z Cheating Rumors? Couple Allegedly Heading For Divorce?

Beyonce Jay Z cheating rumors have gone crazy! Now, the couple is said to be living separate lives even while they're currently on their "On The Run" tour. In fact,  things have gotten really bad that the power duo may even cancel the tour altogether.

Beyonce, 32, and Jay Z, 44, are reportedly having major marriage troubles following some cheating on Jz Z's part. Reports have gone to and fro, saying that they are on the verge of splitting to the couple being totally happy and even vacationing together. Now, it seems that their troubles will end their tour early. The couple is also reportedly living lives apart and only seeing each other until it's time to perform.

"They're not just staying in different hotel rooms, but they have booked separate hotels, and they arrive separately to each show," an insider said.

Rumors of cheating started after Jay Z and Beyonce's sister Solange Knowles', 28, elevator brawl on May 5. According to reports, Jay Z cheated on Beyonce with Rachel Roy, 40, and Rihanna, 26. There seems to be some truth to these, after Bey dissed her marriage in a new "Flawless" remix and has been reportedly been looking for a new apartment in New York City.

According to the source, a meeting has been called for Live Nation, HBO and lawyers to discuss  with the couple what a possible split implies. So far, many believe that their joint tour won't make it to the final show in Paris in September.

"This may not make it to San Francisco," a source said. "I'm definitely not sure that they'll make it to Paris."

"They've had discussions lately about the inevitable sit-down interview when they finally do split, and Jay's been adamant that he doesn't want Beyoncé sitting down with Barbara Walters or Oprah Winfreypretending to be the victim," the source shared.

If it's really over, it makes sense that the couple are putting up a front to say otherwise. The tour is worth a reported $100 million and HBO is set to broadcast the tour starting in September.

The couple still wants to work at saving their marriage, though. Beyonce doesn't want to "give up" on her family and she and Jay Z promised not to put heir daughter, Blue Ivy through a divorce. Jay Z has reportedly arranged for some alone time with Beyonce on a five-week vacation to work on their marriage.

I Just Found Out My Husband Has Lied to Me Since Before Our Wedding. I Need an Escape Plan.

He doesn’t know i know..

Pay Dirt is Slate’s money advice column.  Have a question?  Send it to Athena, Kristin, and Ilyce here .  (It’s anonymous!)

Dear Pay Dirt,

I’m 28, and I’m pregnant with my second child. I have no college loans, but my husband and I have a mortgage that we’d only be able to afford together because he makes much more. I also have a car loan. I make $50,000 a year in a low cost of living area, and max out my 401(k) contributions for employer match. Our biggest expense is daycare. We got married young so he’s always managed our money, but I need to start planning with mine and I don’t know how.

I recently found out with very concrete evidence that my husband has been in a long-term affair from before our wedding until now. He doesn’t know I know. I want to get divorced but in my state divorce isn’t allowed during pregnancy, which means I need to wait at least five more months. But then I’ll have a newborn and that’s a hard time to do things. I’d like to believe my soon-to-be ex would be fair about money but I’m not sure he would so I need to do this privately. I want to get my financial ducks in a row and find a divorce attorney so I’m ready when the moment is right but I have no idea where to start. What financial things do I need to start thinking about here?

—Everything Is Falling Apart

Dear Everything Is Falling Apart,

Wow, I’m so sorry you’re going through this incredibly difficult situation. Discovering your husband’s long-term affair, especially while pregnant, must be devastating. Getting your finances in order is a smart and proactive step.

First, take a deep breath. You’re doing the right thing by planning ahead and seeking guidance. Gather any important documents: bank statements, tax returns, pay stubs, investment accounts, and any other financial records. Having a clear picture of your assets and debts will be crucial in the divorce process. In that vein, also check your credit report and make sure you have a good understanding of any joint debts or accounts. If possible, start establishing credit in your own name, such as opening a credit card account. But know you are legally entitled to credit established jointly during your marriage.  And if you don’t already have one, open a bank account in your name only. Start setting aside money for legal fees and living expenses. Be cautious about moving large sums, as this could raise red flags during the divorce proceedings.

While you get your financial accounts in order, review how much you’re spending each month, particularly the costs associated with raising your children. This will help you plan for your financial future as a single parent. Think about whether you want to stay in your current home or move. Can you move in with a family member? If not, start researching affordable housing options in your area.

And of course, a crucial step will be finding a tough, smart, highly-experienced family law attorney who can guide you through the legal process and protect your interests. Many offer free initial consultations, so take advantage of these to find the right fit. You can also talk with a financial planner or accountant who specializes in divorce. They can help you make informed decisions about property division, child support, and long-term financial planning.

Remember you don’t have to go through this alone. Lean on trusted friends and family for emotional support. Consider joining a support group for women going through divorce or seeking counseling to help you cope with the emotional toll. Take things one step at a time. Focus on your well-being during the end of your pregnancy. The timing may not be ideal, but you’ll figure out the right moment to move forward with the divorce when you’re ready. You’re stronger than you realize, and you’re making the best decisions you can for yourself and your children. Hang in there, keep moving forward, and know that brighter days lie ahead.

My partner and I live in a great neighborhood in a very high-cost-of-living city. Our landlords live below us and they are lovely. Our rent is way below market and we help with yard work and regular household maintenance, as well as do things like occasionally pet sit for them. We do not have a formal arrangement (or even a lease). We have been here for 15 years and in that time they have never raised our rent. We voluntarily raised it ourselves once, by about 10 percent, when we both started working at home since utilities are included and we wanted to make up for increased usage.

My partner and I disagree on whether we should raise it ourselves again. With the way rent and other costs have exploded in the past few years, our below-market rate is even further below market rate, but I also think that our landlords will need even more help from us as they age (they are in good health but in their 70s). My partner and I both make decent salaries and could afford to pay more monthly. We also both grew up poor and our below-market rent is a big factor in our current financial stability, and pretty much the only reason we have a good amount of savings now (we have about $100,000 saved, which sounds like a lot but will truly not go far if we want to buy a house in our area).

I think we should keep saving as much as we can, knowing that one day we will need to move (because they may sell the house or simply because we will get sick of living and working in a tiny one-bedroom walk-up with no laundry). Of course, they could ask us to pay more and we would. My partner thinks it’s our responsibility to self-declare an increase and start paying more because our landlords are too nice to ask us. If we ask the landlords outright if we should pay more, they are likely to wave it off or change the subject because they do not like to discuss money. Is my partner right? Or am I right to think that we should just keep quietly saving as much as we can?

—Smart or Greedy?

Dear Smart or Greedy,

I understand your dilemma. It’s clear that you and your partner are both considerate tenants who appreciate your landlords’ years of kindness and want to do right by them. Still, this isn’t really a choice between being smart or greedy. While your partner’s instinct to pay more rent is admirable, I don’t think you’re being greedy by wanting to maintain the status quo. Your landlords have chosen not to raise the rent for 15 years, and you’ve already taken the initiative to increase it once to account for your hike in utility usage. You also contribute to the household in non-monetary ways through yard work, maintenance, and pet-sitting. What’s that worth?

If your landlords needed or wanted you to pay more, they would likely bring it up, even if they’re generally uncomfortable discussing money. The fact that they haven’t suggests that they’re content with your current arrangement.

That said, it’s wise to consider the future: theirs and yours. As your landlords age, they may require more assistance from you. Are you ready to take on more of the caregiving mantle? Perhaps you could have a conversation with them about how you can best support them going forward, whether through additional rent or by taking on more property management responsibilities. This would show that you care about their well-being and are committed to being good tenants and neighbors.

As for your future, how long will you be content to rent a tiny one-bedroom with no laundry? What will tip the balance for you and for your partner? You two should be able to have an honest dialogue about where and how you want to live, and plan for that eventual outcome. In the meantime, continue being the thoughtful, responsible tenants you clearly are. And, keep saving wisely for your future. Wishing you all the best as you navigate this situation with care and integrity.

My husband and I are soon-to-be retirees, and in moderately good health considering our age. We are by no means rich, but hope to have a little in the bank, plus some real estate to leave behind when we are gone. We’ve procrastinated the task of making a will because we can’t figure out what to do. We have two adult children and some grandchildren. The issue is that one of the kids is very independent, was always an excellent student, and is now a successful physician, married to someone who is also professionally successful. The other kid is basically the opposite. Now in their mid-30s, with no stable job, no real education, and no sense when it comes to money.

So here’s the question. Do we leave more to the one who needs it the most? Or reward the one who has always worked hard and been responsible? Split it down the middle and hope for the best? I don’t see inheritance as a performance-based bonus. But I also don’t want it all tossed away by the irresponsible one.

—Indecisive Mom

Dear Indecisive Mom,

You’re worried about balancing your children’s needs and merits. I get that. But you might also think about how they’ll feel about you and each other if you split your estate unequally. If you want them to have a good relationship after you’re gone, then you need to decide what you think is fair and open up the communication channels so they understand why you’ve made these decisions.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on your values, your relationship with your children, and what you believe will be best for your family in the long run. That said, here are a few thoughts to consider:

1. Equal doesn’t always mean fair. If one child genuinely needs more support, there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that in your will. It’s not about playing favorites; it’s about meeting each child’s unique needs. 2. Consider the potential impact on your children’s relationship. Will leaving more to one cause resentment or strain between them? Is there a way to explain your decision that emphasizes love and concern rather than judgment? 3. Think about structuring the inheritance in a way that promotes responsibility. For example, you could set up a trust for your less stable child with conditions for how the money is used (e.g., for education, housing, or health care). This can provide a safety net without enabling irresponsible behavior. 4. Remember that your will is just one part of your legacy. Continue to express your love, pride, and support for both children in your words and actions. Make sure they each feel valued for who they are, not just what they’ve achieved.

Ultimately, you and your husband need to decide together how you want to handle your estate. Once you do, invite your children for a conversation about what you have and how you’re thinking about your legacy. State your piece, then ask your children for feedback. They may have other suggestions you can consider. When you’ve settled on a plan, consult with an estate attorney to make sure your wishes are documented appropriately. Above all, remember that your financial legacy will never be more important than your emotional one. If your children feel loved and heard, it will make this difficult process a lot easier.

Is it ever OK to fake a family member’s death to get time off of work? I’m in my early 20s and just landed the high-pressure job I went to trade school for. I’ve been at it for three months now, and am doing a good job. My supervisors are very happy with my performance, and they (and myself) are honestly surprised that I am doing as well as I am. It’s a lot of work, but I’m finding myself not overwhelmed with the job but instead with my personal life. A month ago, my now ex-boyfriend raped me. I just decided not to think about it because I had so much going on between work and school and thought that couldn’t be happening to me.

Yesterday, I had a complete mental breakdown while buying groceries, and I’m realizing that I need to take time off of work to figure out what I need to do before I freak out there and humiliate myself. Things have been pretty tough at work the past week or so, though, and I’m worried that if I give a vague excuse like “personal issues,” it will come across as me not liking the job/getting burnt out. I was promoted from an entry-level position and there were some concerns about whether that was a good idea. I’m also not openly gay at work (it’s a male-dominated field and all of my co-workers are over 50) and even if I were, this is super TMI. Anyway, this brings me to my question, would it be wrong to fake a death/family emergency? Or illness? Should I just say I’m taking a vacation? Help?

—Bereavement Leave

Dear Bereavement Leave,

It was heart-wrenching to read your letter. I am incredibly sorry for what you’ve been through. Being raped by someone you trusted is a traumatic experience that no one should ever have to endure. Your feelings of distress, confusion, and the need for time to process and heal are completely valid.

Taking some time for yourself is a good idea. But, faking a death or family emergency isn’t the right approach. Lying about something so serious could easily backfire. A well-meaning colleague might look for a death notice, and not find one. This would damage your credibility if the truth were to come out.

I think you should be honest with your supervisor about needing some personal time off, without feeling obligated to disclose the details of your trauma. You can simply say that you’re dealing with a personal or family crisis and need a short leave of absence to take care of your mental health and well-being. Create a plan for your work so you’re not leaving the company in the lurch. Make sure your boss knows how many days you’ll be out and if you can be reached in the event of an emergency. Many employers have policies in place for this type of situation, such as allowing the use of sick days or unpaid leave. You should plan to use this time before asking for unpaid leave.

If you feel comfortable, you could also reach out to your company’s human resources department for guidance and support. They may be able to provide resources or accommodations to help you during this difficult time, such as a modified work schedule or referrals to counseling services. There are also organizations such as RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) that offer confidential hotlines and resources for survivors of sexual assault. As far as work goes, please trust that your work performance thus far has demonstrated your capability and commitment, and that taking care of yourself will only make you stronger in the long run.

Skilla Baby and Rob49 Talk Surprise Dream Collaborators, Lessons from Travis Scott, Co-Headlining Tour (Exclusive)

The two rising MCs opened up about their first headlining tour Vultures Eat the Most and what connects them as creative partners

on the run tour cheating

  • Skilla Baby and Rob49 are currently embarking on their first U.S. headlining run of shows, the Vultures Eat the Most Tour
  • The two musicians caught up with PEOPLE about lessons they each learned from working alongside Travis Scott this past year
  • Skilla discusses what its like to avoid falling "into this trap of being too cool" to be himself

Days before the kick off of his first-ever headlining tour, while driving around Detroit, Skilla Baby starts singing one of his all-time favorite songs: Adele ’s “Someone Like You.” The first verse, without interruption, in the middle of an interview.

“I would love to have a song with Adele,” he tells PEOPLE following the impromptu performance. “I just be doing stuff, for real. I don't put a limit on myself. I don't limit myself to, ‘OK, I'm just going to be a gangsta rapper. I'm just going to be a rapper today.’ I'm going to do what I feel like.”

Doing whatever he feels seems to be the ultimate mission for Skilla Baby. And right now, he feels like hitting the road with fellow MC and another hit-maker destined to do things on his own accord, Rob49 .

The pair, who've just departed on their very first co-headlining gigs in the U.S., the Vultures Eat the Most Tour, have more in common than just being frequent collaborators. They both have the Travis Scott stamp of approval, both rep their cities (Detroit and New Orleans, respectively) with pride and are ultimately cut from the same cloth. So beyond Skilla potentially busting out another viral rendition of Fun.’s “We Are Young,” there’s really no telling what fans can anticipate from them on the road.

“I think we both just want to see each other win,” Skilla says of Rob, who he’s collaborated with on multiple occasions (“ Mama ,” “ C4 ,” “ Mike Jack ”). “I want to see young guys and girls win in general. What we do is so popularity based and it's like a competition, it's so competitive. Once you get some people that genuinely want to see you win and do as good as them, you just keep them around.”

“I think his brand is real gritty. My brand is like, I'm more like hustle and slowed down. And when you combine them, it's smooth and gritty at the same time,” he adds. “I don't really know how to explain it. But I’m excited for this tour.”

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

From Rob49’s standout “ Topia Twins ” feature on Travis Scott’s Utopia , to Skilla’s name-drop on Jack Harlow’s No. 1 smash “ Lovin’ On Me ,” to their own creative partnership, the duo detailed to PEOPLE what fans need to know before catching them on the road this summer.

Jordan Perez

What's your overall vision for this tour — how would you describe it?

Rob49: I just want the fans to get a moment to come turn up with us, have a great time and give us the opportunity to make new fans in different cities. We want to give the people what they’ve been asking for and kick off the summer lit.

When you're out there on stage, are there any performers that you try to channel? Skilla, I know you've got the Michael Jackson avatar on social media.

Skilla Baby: I try to take a little bit from everybody. I try to take a little Uzi. I try to take some Sada Baby. He was one of my favorite performers. I try to take some Michael Jackson . These are some of my favorite performers. I've never seen Michael Jackson live, but I've seen his impact and I've seen videos of him live. So I try to take all of that and put it into one. I'm not really athletic and I can't dance and I don't have the best rhythm, but I try to take some of it and just put my little own spin on it. I try to give people. I really love to find different ways to entertain people.

You both grew up on Lil Wayne. Do you two ever compare notes on influences or notice any overlap when working together?

Skilla Baby: We don't really compare notes like that, but we do say sometimes like, ‘Dang, we have influence like that.’ I feel like Wayne's influence, he influenced a whole generation. I feel like me and Rob's influence is like... I feel like we’ve changed, we shifting the culture for real as far as how people go about songs and how they writing them, how they carry themselves. I feel like we are definitely, especially me, I feel like I haven't done enough. But I feel like if I stop doing music today, I'm OK. I'm fine with how I shifted the culture.

Skilla, you recently opened for Travis Scott on the Circus Maximus Tour. What did you learn from him on the road?

Skilla Baby: Travis Scott was the best show I've ever been to and the best show I've ever experienced. With that being said, I've been in the back with Travis Scott and he was this cool guy, normal, intelligent, holding a conversation and all of that. And when he gets on stage, he turns to what you see. So it's like, with a guy like that taking his craft seriously, and every time I get around these big artists, I ask them, “How you keep going?" And they all tell me, they just act like they haven't done anything. They in love with the hustle. They in love with it. So I got to be like that.

I've been on tour with Travis Scott, all his shows are sold out, packed with the same energy. For me to give any less effort or energy, that'd be me cheating the culture and myself, like what I'm in it for. If this guy, rich, successful, all these accolades and accomplishments to take his craft serious and don't take no shortcuts, why would I?

Rob, what's the most valuable lesson you've taken away from working with Travis?

Rob49: That any day I can explode and be what I feel like I’m destined to be. To stay true to myself and my creative process because my time is definitely coming. Trav is a huge inspiration to young artists because we all saw his come up.

I love to see how Travis turns up and how engaged his fans are. He has like a cult[-like] following but his fans are so in tune with him at his shows, and he really be performing hard.

Ivan Eremin

Who would you point to as dream collaborators? Anyone we'd be surprised by?

Skilla Baby: Anita Baker, Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko, Adele. Crazy. Nicki Minaj , these are people I've been a fan of since I was, yay high. But I'm a big fan of those girls, those artists. And any of the groups that I used to listen to or my mom used to listen to, TLC , that type of stuff, En Vogue. I would love to just for the culture like Brandy , Monica , Keyshia Cole, all those type of people, I would love to do music with them more than I would love to do music with rappers.

Rob, are there any artists in your music library fans would be surprised by?

Rob49: Everyone is always shocked to hear that Frank Ocean is one of my favorite artists ever.

Skilla, you aren't afraid to pull out some classics during your live show with Fun.'s "We Are Young." How important is it for you to incorporate that random factor into your concerts?

Skilla Baby:  I just feel like sometimes you fall into this trap of being too cool. I think that type of stuff is cool. I'm not too gangster. I'm not too street. I'm not too cool to do anything. Like I said, if I'm going to do something, I'm going to go all the way in. So I'm an entertainer. I'm a risk-taker. I'm not here to be politically correct all the time. I'm not here to be safe. I'm here to entertain with the best of my ability. So I'm not going to shortcuts.

You said the mention in "Lovin' On Me" was a big moment for you. That song went No. 1 for six weeks. Have you talked to Jack about the mention?

Skilla Baby: I thanked him multiple times, but we don't really talk about music. We talk about life. Jack is a real genuine guy. He's a good dude. And he just cares about people's wellbeing. The most important advice he given me is just be different. And I think that's how I've got some of my success or some of my records because maybe somebody don't like them, but they're different. So I'm approaching music differently. And by me approaching music differently than somebody from my region or where I'm from, I think I stand out a little.

What are you looking forward to the most during these live shows?

Rob49: I’m just ready to give the Rob49 fans a true Vulture Mode experience. I can finally control how I want it to go, because this is my first tour. So I am really excited to have fun with the fans and continue to learn and grow as an artist from this tour. I’m really trying to take it to the top this year.

Skilla: I want them to experience happiness and fun and I want them to just be like, "This one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I'm glad I spent my money to go see these people." That's what I want them to get from me, especially me, but both of us. But I can only speak for myself on what I want them to experience. I want them to experience me. I want them to feel like they hanging with me for an hour. That's what I want. I want them to be like, "Oh, Skilla was my homeboy. I hung with him for an hour. I know Skilla like. That's my guy."

‘I said it was cheating’: How an 84-year-old felt like Rory McIlroy for one day

/content/dam/images/golfdigest/fullset/2023/1/GD0624_MIND_COMMUNITY_03.jpg

Rosie Schoeman

One Golf Digest+ member who reluctantly moved up a tee box during a recent round was 84-year-old Curt McClure ( above, second from the right ), who typically plays from 6,000 yards but appeased his buddies and joined them at 5,200 yards at his home course of Lubbock Country Club in Texas. The move sparked a special round for McClure, a 2-handicap who made his third career hole-in-one en route to a three-under-par 69—a score 15 shots below his age.

“I said it was cheating because I was playing so far up,” says McClure, who averages about 230 yards off the tee, meaning a 5,200-yard course is a comparable distance to what Rory McIlroy plays from on tour, relative to driving distance. “It was just a normal day,” McClure says. “I just made some birdies and made a hole-in-one, and I made a couple of bogeys on the back nine.”

It would be tough to find a member with more humility and nonchalance than McClure, who has been a Golf Digest+ member since the 1980s. He hit a knockdown 8-iron from about 130 yards on the par-3 fifth hole. “I didn’t even hit the shot like I wanted to,” McClure says. “I pushed it a little bit, and it hit the edge of the green, bounced left and rolled into the hole.”

( Editor’s Note: This story is part of the new Golf Digest Community section, where we engage with Golf Digest+ members. We encourage all members to submit swing videos, great stories, questions or feedback on recent stories at  [email protected]  for a chance to be included in a future edition.)

A semifinalist in the 1995 U.S. Senior Amateur, McClure finished off the excellent round by breaking 70, his lowest score in recent memory. He first shot below his age when he was 68, but in the years since, the feat has happened too many times to keep track of. Since he moved to Texas five years ago, he hasn’t shot above 80 at Lubbock.

McClure picked up the game as a kid in Louisiana but quit when he got married, had four children and started working as an insurance agent. When he returned to golf in his late 30s, he took lessons from Shreveport instructor Martin Stuart, with whom he continues to work and credits much of his success to.

By virtue of his run in the U.S. Senior Amateur, McClure played in the 1996 U.S. Senior Open, where he warmed up between Arnold Palmer and Chi Chi Rodriguez. “I was amazed at the sound of their shots versus the sound of mine,” he recalls. Though it remains one of his fondest golf memories, he regrets not introducing himself.

Even if McClure doesn’t quite compress it like Arnie, McClure’s longtime friend and four-ball partner Corky Yates calls him “Pipeline” for how straight he drives the ball. Away from the course, he enjoys tweaking his clubs at home. “I’ve got a lot of equipment in the garage, and I just enjoy fiddling with things,” he says. “I recently changed my shafts to KBS and reworked them all. The frequencies are almost perfect.”

The new shafts are quickly making a difference, as McClure had no issue following up his low round with another. “The next time I played, I shot 71, and on the fifth hole, the pin was cut in almost the same place, and I hit it to six inches,” he says. “Now that would have been a good story.”

Justin Timberlake Forced To Pause Concert After Spotting Fan In Need

This isn't the first hiccup in Timberlake's world tour, after his wife allegedly had concerns over how it'd affect their marriage.

  • Timberlake paused show in Texas to help fan, received swift response from security.
  • Concerns about Timberlake's tour impact on marriage due to past controversies.
  • Jessica Biel may be worried, but Timberlake taking steps to address concerns.

Justin Timberlake was quick to pause his recent performance in Texas upon noticing a fan who was struggling.

The former Disney star performed at the Moody Center on the University of Texas at Austin campus on Saturday, June 1. During his show, the musician unexpectedly halted the performance, requesting the house lights be turned on.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake attend event

According to video footage obtained by TMZ , Timberlake asked for assistance after noticing something in the crowd. “Sorry everybody, one second,” Justin said, as the video shows. “We need some assistance right here, about five rows back.”

The nature of the emergency remains unclear, but Timberlake was seen clapping shortly afterward and encouraging the audience to applaud the swift response. TMZ reported that the fan involved returned to their seat after being checked on by security members.

Additional videos of the incident shared on social media captured Timberlake addressing the fan directly. “Are we OK? No, no problem!” he said. “OK, we’re OK.”

Timberlake is currently on the road for his Forget Tomorrow World Tour — his first concert tour in five years. The tour kicked off in April and is scheduled to run through December.

Timberlake’s wife is allegedly worried about his tour.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake

This isn’t the first hiccup on Timberlake’s tour. Before he even embarked, reports suggested the singer’s wife Jessica Biel was worried how the traveling would impact their marriage, especially in the wake of the controversy Justin faced following Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me last fall.

Spears made a variety of claims about her past relationship with Justin, including that he cheated and pressured her into an abortion. The public reception as well as the shocking nature of Britney’s claims apparently took a toll on his marriage.

In an interview with Us Weekly , a source alleged Jessica Biel is concerned that her husband’s upcoming tour might not be "smooth sailing." Her worries stem not only from the Spears drama, but also a 2019 2019 incident where Justin was photographed in close proximity with his Palmer co-star, Alisha Wainwright, in New Orleans.

The insider shared, “Jessica is a bit worried about the tour. If Justin were to have another incident, it would be the last straw for Jessica.”

To mitigate these concerns, another source mentioned that Timberlake plans to “limit his alcohol intake and remove himself from any inappropriate situations.” Additionally, the pop star intends to “check in with Jessica every night before he goes to bed.”

Biel recently promoted Justin’s tour merchandise on social media with a rare photo featuring their two boys (although their faces were turned away from the camera), suggesting that she may be more on board with the tour than reports suggest, or she’s at least keeping up appearances for the camera.
