During your pre-travel consultation, our Travel Medicine specialists will help determine which vaccines and medications are recommended for your destination. For children under the age of 13, the full consult fee of $95 will be charged if no other immediate family member is receiving a consult. If a child and an adult come in for a consult, the consult fee of $95 will apply for the adult but the child will receive a discounted fee of $65. If two or more children are receiving vaccines, one consult fee of $95 will apply to one child, and all other remaining child consults will be discounted to $65. A fee of $25 will be collected to confirm your appointment.

Not in New York City? Not a problem. We offer virtual pre-travel consultations via telephone for $225 per adult. Do you have a child needing a consult with you? Children can join a virtual consult with a parent for $95 per child. During a consult, we will recommend vaccinations based on your area of travel and health history and will send any recommended prescriptions to your local pharmacy.

We do not accept insurance.

This request is not a confirmation of your appointment.  Our team will be in touch with you to confirm the date and time of your appointment.

COVID-19 Information

NYU continues to monitor developments around COVID-19 and adjust our protocols to align with current guidance. With a lowered risk of serious illness— thanks to the effectiveness of vaccines and more widely available medication for COVID-19—widespread restrictions have mostly been lifted around the world and on NYU’s campuses.

NYU COVID-19 Guidance For Everyone

Whether you're a student, faculty, or employee, or you are temporarily visiting, affiliated with, or contracting for NYU, you can find NYU's COVID-related information here.

Vaccination & Boosters

We encourage everyone in the NYU community to stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination . Most people are eligible and recommended to receive the new vaccine. While NYU no longer requires COVID-19 vaccination for most community members and visitors, vaccination is a key tool in reducing the impact of a COVID-19 infection and helps prevent the spread to others. Note: Primary series vaccination continues to be required for covered Dental students and Dental employees in accordance with applicable law.

Students:

  • The latest COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer is available to students at the NYU Student Health Center at 726 Broadway. Log in to the Student Health Portal or call 212-443-1000 to schedule an appointment.
  • COVID-19 vaccines at the SHC are not free and will be charged to your medical insurance plan. Students with NYU Wellfleet will have zero out-of-pocket expense at the SHC. Students with other insurances can call their carriers for out-of-network coverage information.

Faculty and employees:

  • Faculty and employees can seek vaccination from their personal care providers, local pharmacies, or other vaccination sites in their community.

Anyone can search for nearby COVID-19 vaccines at vaccines.gov .

  • Unless you have had a COVID-19 vaccine in the past 90 days, most people are eligible to receive the new vaccine.
  • If you have recently received or are planning to get other vaccines – including the flu shot – there is no required waiting period between vaccinations.
  • Individuals with a history of vaccine reactions or other medical concerns can consult their personal medical providers.

Masks are Always Welcome

As a community, we embrace the choice by friends, classmates, and colleagues to wear a mask and are committed to establishing an atmosphere where masks are always welcomed. Masking is only required in healthcare settings (e.g. Student Health Center, Dental Practice).  Higher quality masks include: disposable masks (surgical or medical procedure masks), KN95 masks, KF94 masks, and N95 masks.

Guidance for Symptoms, Exposure & Testing

NYU community members who are experiencing symptoms, tested positive, or were exposed to COVID-19 should follow the CDC COVID-19 guidance for next steps, precautions, and testing.

Follow all of these key recommendations if you are sick and/or have tested positive for COVID-19:

  • Stay home and distance yourself from others until your isolation period is over.
  • Wear a high-quality mask at all times if you must be around others, including the people you live with.
  • Only go out in public for essential reasons (to buy food, medication, or seek medical care) and return home as soon as possible to limit your exposure to others.

Where to get COVID-19 tests:

  • Free at-home COVID-19 test kits are available at specific NYC locations .
  • Free at-home COVID-19 tests are available to order from the U.S. government.
  • Some retail pharmacies across NYC (CVS, Duane Reade, etc.) provide COVID-19 testing on-site and may have at-home COVID-19 test kits available to purchase.

If you need medical care related to a COVID-19 infection:

  • Students can schedule a virtual appointment at the Student Health Center or call (212) 443-1000 and speak with a nurse.
  • Employees should contact their healthcare provider.

Additional resource:

  • Grubhub Mobile Ordering - Grubhub’s Campus Dining feature allows you to order ahead from select NYU Eats locations and pick up your food.

Short-term visitors, affiliates, contractors, and vendors are not required to comply with COVID-19 policies or requirements. However, they must be sponsored by an NYU employee or student before coming to campus. Sponsors will use NYU’s standard processes for granting campus access.

  • Review the CDC guidance on COVID-19
