A. The monsoon months between July and September are the low months in terms of tourism in Andaman. Torrential rains, high tides and frequent storms make it difficult to enjoy the beach or explore the islands. Many places become inaccessible at this time of the year. The wilderness also comes into its own, and there could be more than one spotting of dangerous bugs and insects. The ferry service is affected - cancelled too more often, the seas are swollen and unfit for a swim far less diving and snorkelling. Part of Middle Andaman, Long Island is a unique place with stunning stretches of sand and non-motorable roads. There is a Lalaji Bay Beach, a marble-white sand bar skirting a deep blue sea, the Merk Bay Beach and the Guitar Island that take about a whole day and can be done by hiring a private charter. For bird watchers, backpackers, photographers, and of course certified divers, this place is paradise. Q. How many Ross Islands are there in the Andaman? A. There are two of them by the same name. One is an island pair called Ross and Smith Islands in North Andaman and is a 20-minute boat ride from Diglipur’s Aerial Bay Jetty. The island is unspoilt and perfect for snorkelling or simply swimming in the sea. The second Ross Island is an erstwhile British administrative headquarters, a 20-minute boat ride from the Aberdeen Jetty in Port Blair. This Ross Island has recently been rechristened Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Dweep. You will still find remains from its colonial era, but other than that it is nice and scenic with a small museum. Q. Day 1: ARRIVE AT PORTBLAIR

Arrival at Port Blair in the morning/afternoon by flight and our representative will be waiting outside holding a placard with your name on it. You will be taken to your hotel where you relax and rest. Later will start the breath taking trip to  CORBYNS COVE BEACH , one of the most picturesque, coconut palm fringed beach, 7 kms away from Port Blair town, and on the visit  FLAG POINT  is In the memories of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose When he hoisted the Indian Tricolor Flag on free Indian soil very before island got the declaration of getting free from British Rule.

Later proceed to the  CELLULAR JAIL , a place of pilgrimage for all freedom loving people. One can also view the history of the heroic freedom struggle which is brought alive in a moving  LIGHT & SOUND SHOW at the Cellular Jail. And return back to hotel. Overnight Stay at Port Blair.

Day 2: PORT BLAIR- HAVELOCK ISLAND

Check out from the hotel with packaged breakfast and board Pvt. Cruise to Havelock. Later we depart to Andaman Islands most amazing destination,  HAVELOCK ISLAND.  The destination is rated as the best island in India. Depart from Port Blair to Havelock Island in a Cruise/ferry. Planning a trip from Bangalore to Andaman Nicobar Islands is fairly easy because recently there are 2 flights that have been assigned. These flights will take your directly from the Bangalore Airport to Andaman without any further connections, so you can travel easily.

To travel and experience Andaman Islands, you'll first have to reach here. This is fairly easy if the destination was located in mainland India, but since its not, you only have two ways to reach here.

Reaching Andaman from Bangalore by Flight:

There are two flights available from Bangalore daily that will take you to Andaman directly. These flights are usually from Go Air and IndiGo and can cost a bit extra, since they are direct.

If you'd like to save some money and don't mind spending hours on the Airport, you can opt for connecting flights.

There are usually three flights that come to Andaman and the overlay time can be anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours depending on the scheduling.

Eternal Andamans highly recommends getting a direct flight as it is very comfortable and you won't end up being tired from the beginning of the tour.

If you are concerned about the prices, you can get a ticket atleast 2 months before your trip to make sure you get the lowest rates possible. For a comparison, flight tickets from Rs. 4500 is considered lowest and anything above Rs. 7000 is considered high.

Flight distance and Time to reach:

• The flight generally takes around 2 Hours and 35 Minutes to reach here.
• It covers 1660 KMs during the travel.

Reaching Andaman from Bangalore by Ship:

Ships do offer a comparatively lower rate than flights and you can probably save around Rs. 1000 by taking a ship on a good day, but there are other factors that will be considered into this.

The closest port that harbors a ship to Andaman is Chennai. The travelling cost to Chennai is added to the trip which can increase the cost and take it on par with the flight rates.

The second thing to note here is that, the ship takes around 2 days to reach here and when food charges are added to the bill, its simply not worth traveling in ship to Andaman .

Of-course, this is different for locals in Andaman as they get almost 30-40% off on ship tickets, but that's reserved for the islanders only.

We recommend reaching Andaman on a flight as its faster and can be cost effective if planned and booked in Advance.

Being frequent wanderers, my friends and I planned to go for a venturesome vacation, away from the demanding city life. After checking out our dream destination list, we ended up searching Andaman tour packages on the internet. I had been following TravelTriangle facebook page and used to check numerous lucrative packages. We visited their website where we could customize our Andaman packages. We wanted our experience to be more adventurous than luxurious, we mentioned our requirements at TravelTriangle website and soon our Travel expert shared an itinerary with us, planned according to our requirements. We booked our Andaman travel packages via TravelTriangle which included airfares, transfers, cabs, stay, snorkeling, guide fee and entry tickets to monuments and museums.

We arrived at Port Blair airport from where we were escorted to our hotel by the travel representative. We visited Cellular Jail and Corbyn Cove Beach on our first day of Andaman tour . The light and sound show at Cellular jail induced a surge of patriotism amongst us. We experienced a mild rain shower at Corbyn Cove Beach but it didn't impact our excitement rather gave us a few unexpected cherishing moments.

On the second day, we planned for Scuba diving for which we travelled to Havelock via ferry. Here we ventured into the deep water for about 30 minutes organized by the diving centre near our resort. It was an invigorating experience which was followed by the breathtaking views of RadhaNagar Beach. We could feel the fresh sea breeze and spent some lazy time, relaxing at the beach.

Next day, we went to the Elephant Beach, a popular destination for water sports. We started our day with sea walking and snorkeling which made us admire the corals, marine plants and starfishes, followed by jet skiing amidst the turquoise-blue water of sea. Later, we went for a balloon ride that offers bird’s eye view of this immaculate place. Our next destination was Neil Island where we headed to Bharatpur Beach and took a glass-bottom boat ride. We enjoyed the vibrant corals and fishes through the bottom of our boat. Later we went to Laxmanpur beach clad in white shell sand and Howrah bridge which is a bridge-like rock with two living natural corals. The same day we came back to Port Blair. Our stress buster expedition reached its end and we enjoyed every minute spent at this beautiful yet adventurous place.

I love travelling as that's the easiest way to refresh the mind, body and soul. Being a doctor by profession keeps me quite busy and travelling is an escape I seek to rejuvenate. Our Andaman holidays commenced with our arrival at Port Blair airport. We spent our first day in Andaman sight-seeing and exploring Port Blair. Next day we headed to the Baratang Island, driving through the tropical forests of the island. We also met members of Jarwa tribe which was truly an exhilarating experience. After reaching Baratang Island, we took a boat ride which lead us to the Limestone Caves.

On the third day, we took a ferry to Havelock Island which was a mesmerizing experience.We had a candlelight dinner at the resort and admired the impeccable beauty of this place. Next day, we went to Neil Island and explored its many gems. One of the most beautiful experiences of our Andaman tour was visiting the Chidiyatapu Sunset point. We also went to TSG Bella Bay and enjoyed the amazing dinner and music. On our last day of Andaman vacations we went to Ross Island before heading to the airport.

Its believed that Andaman is usually visited by honeymooning couples but I enjoyed holidaying at Andaman with my family as it enthralled each one of us irrespective of our age and taste. Being a travel enthusiast, I had explored around 22 states of India and received numerous trekker awards for my passion and craving of biking and trekking tours. It was this day when I went for the most-awaited Scuba diving and the glance of marine life was prodigious. Later, I went to Ross Island, the former headquarters of the British Colony. Andaman Tourism Opens: The Andaman & Nicobar administration has announced that all tourist spots in the South Andaman district will be opened for tourism activities with immediate effect 8 Feb 2022.

RT PCR report on arrival

A negative RT PCR report has to be presented by all passengers on arrival.

What is the advisory to travel to North & Middle Andaman District?

The tourists are allowed to visit Baratang/North & Middle Andaman on production of double dose covid certificate/ All other passengers viz. unvaccinated and partially vaccinated passengers (those who have taken only 1S1 dose of COVID vaccine) shall have to produce RT-PCR negative test report

• All asymptomatic fully vaccinated persons coming to these islands from mainland are  exempted  from the requirement of carrying RT-PCR negative test report,irrespective of the type of vaccine received and country of origin. Such fullyvaccinated individuals shall produce the final vaccination certificate at the origin airport ,  sea port in the mainland and at Port Blair Airport / sea port.
• Alt asymptomatic children below 5 years of age are exempted from carrying RT-PCR negative test report and further RT-PCR testing at Port Blair Airport.
• All other passengers viz. unvaccinated and partially vaccinated passengers (those who have taken only 1S1 dose of COVID vaccine) shall have to produce RT-PCR negative test report to travel to Port Blair from the mainland, as is the practice now. Such an RT-PCR test should have been taken within 48 hours prior to commencement of journey from the origin airport connecting Port Blair. Such passengers will also have to undergo additional RT-PCR test on arrival at Port Blair. Such passengers shall remain in self-quarantine till the arrival of the test report.
• If a passenger on arrival is tested positive then, the prescribed quarantine protocol is to be followed.
• All Airlines shall ensure strict compliance of this order and observance of COVID Appropriate Behaviour. Any non-compliance shall invite action under Disaster Management Act and other applicable laws. 

General Guidelines defined for traveling to Andaman Islands during COVID :

• The Tourism Activities are permitted only in South Andaman & North & Middle Andaman District except Nicobar District.
• Persons above 65 years of age, persons with home co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years advised not to travel for tourism purposes.
• Tourists/Visitors who are at higher risk due to some medical history are advised to take extra precautions.
• Tourists/visitors shall minimize contact with other staff and visitors as far as possible and zero contact policy should be followed at all tourist destinations.
• All tourists/visitors shall be briefed by the hotel concerned about do’s & don’ts to be mandatorily followed during their stay and movements.
• While travelling tourists/visitors should wear a face mask and carry their own sanitizer and wet wipes for personal use.
• At all tourist destinations, staff must wear face masks and wash/sanitize hands regularly while performing their duties.
• Arogya Setu App shall be mandatory for all incoming tourists/visitors.
• Respiratory etiquettes to be strictly followed. This involves strict practice of covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing/sneezing with a tissue handkerchief/flexed elbow and disposing off used tissues properly after use.
• The tourists/visitors on arrival at Port Blair airport have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 screening with RTPCR test free of cost. Thereafter the tourists/ visitors are allowed to move to their respective hotels. However, they will have to be under quarantine at Port Blair in their hotel rooms until the result of RTPCR tests are received. In case of RTPCR positive test results, the tourists/visitors shall remain in institutional quarantine in hotels notified by the Hoteliers Association in consent with the A&%N Administration, on rate as specified or to the designated hospital/ Covid 19 care centre on case to case basis.

What are the guidelines for testing for tourists coming to Andaman after August 03 2021?

On arrival at Port Blair : 1. The tourists need to carry COVID-19 negative test report from mainland based 1CMR approved lab using Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR). However, the sample for RTPCR test should have been taken within 48 hours prior to starting the journey from the origin station. (For e.g. if the tourist takes a flight from Delhi at 0600 hrs. on 1st September, 2021, the sample for RTPCR test should have been taken not before 0600 hrs. on 30th August, 2021). 2. The tourists/visitors on arrival at Port Blair airport have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 screening with RTPCR test free of cost. Thereafter the tourists/visitors are allowed to move to their respective hotels. However, they will have to be under quarantine at Port Blair in their hotel rooms until the result of RTPCR tests are received. In case of RTPCR positive test results, the tourists/visitors shall remain in institutional quarantine in hotels notified by the Hoteliers Association in consent with the A&N Administration, on rates as specified or to the designated hospital/ Covid-19 care centre on case-to-case basis.

3. Tourists may also have to undergo random Rapid Antigen Test conducted from time to time on payment basis as prescribed by A8N Administration.

What if the tourists test positive after arriving at the Andaman Islands?

If the tourists tests positive during their stay in the Islands, he/she will need to undergo institutional isolation as per existing health protocols. The cost of such isolation for govt. facility will be paid by the tourists as fixed by the administration from time to time. If the patient wants to stay at hotels, he/she can stay in the hotels if all the conditions below are met: a) Patients are not symptomatic and not more than 60 years old. b) Request/ undertaking is made by patient in writing. c)lf allowed by doctors. Hotels will make necessary arrangements to designate a part of their rooms for institutional isolation for this purpose.

Day 1 : arrive in port blair - cellular jail and light & sound show.

Fly in to Port Blair Airport. Our representative will meet and assist you at the Veer Savarkar Airport. Board the waiting vehicles, drive to your hotel / resort and check in. First half of the day is at leisure. Later in the afternoon visit Cellular jail followed by light and sound show. The Cellular Jail has a pride of place in India's freedom struggle. Many a stalwart were imprisoned here. Declared a national memorial, this three storey prison constructed by Britishers in 1906, is a pilgrimage destination for freedom fighters. This colossal edifice has mutely witnessed the most treacherous of inhumane atrocities borne by the convicts, who were mostly freedom fighters. The day draws to a gentle close with the Sound and Light Show at the historic Cellular Jail which gives you a vivid experience of its strong association with the freedom fighters and their struggle for independence. Return to hotel for overnight stay. Light and Sound Show at 1800 hrs or 1900 Hrs, depending on ticket availability (English version is only on alternate days). Cellular Jail is closed on Monday and Govt Holidays. The Light and Sound Show can get cancelled if it rains with amount being non-refundable. For Light and Sound show, please carry photo ID proof (PAN card not accepted) or you will not be allowed entry.

DAY 2 : Ross Island And North Bay Island (Coral Island) Tour

Today after breakfast, embark on a half day trip to two Island cruise. It covers a panorama of seven harbors that includes North Bay and Ross Island which will leave a lasting impression. Ross Island - Once the administrative headquarters of the British and capital of these Islands, the island is now under the Indian Navy. It stands now as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structures almost in debris. There is a small museum named Smritika, it holds photographs and the other antiques of the Britishers relevant to these Islands. The Island is famous for friendly flocks of Deer and lush green walking trails. North Bay - The water lovers may enjoy Snorkeling or Glass bottom boat ride (Optional) in its shallow waters with a chance to see corals up close and also has mesmerizing picnic spots with natural picturesque environment. Return to the hotel by evening for overnight stay. Ross Island is closed on Wednesday. Ferry for Ross Island leaves at fixed timings and request you to ensure at WSC at the given time. The boats (6 seater) to the islands are limited in number and seat in boat is subject to availability. Tour is subject to weather conditions. Glass bottom boat ride, snorkelling, water sports are at an extra cost at North Bay. (Approx Cost for Snorkelling is Rs 800/- PP & Glass Bottom Ride is 500/- PP on sharing basis. Cost may change subject to availability). Diving and Sea Walk can be done at an extra cost at North Bay. (Approx cost for Sea Walk is Rs 3500/- PP & Jet Ski is Rs 1000/- PP. DAY 3 : Day Excursion To Havelock Island

Today take your packed breakfast from your hotel, and proceed to Jetty to take ferry/cruise to Havelock Island. Havelock is a serene tropical island encompassing about 86 square kilometres. Its clear waters are rated among the best in the world for Snorkeling and scuba diving. Close to 1000 different species of marine life inhabit the waters of the Andaman Islands. Scuba divers can see nudi branches, sea slugs and snails, varieties of ghost pipe fish, jaw fish and a number of different crustaceans of all shapes and sizes. With its serene beaches, 40 meters visibility underwater, colourful coral reefs and ‘far from the maddening crowd’ appeal.
