Travel Advice for Lebanon

We continue to advise do not travel to Lebanon due to the volatile security situation and the risk of the security situation deteriorating further.

There's a possibility of an increase in armed conflict that could affect wider areas of Lebanon. Daily military action has increased in southern Lebanon in recent weeks, including rocket and missile fire, as well as airstrikes. The conflict could continue to escalate quickly or spread to other areas in Lebanon, including Beirut with little notice. This could affect your ability to move to safety. Avoid areas where military activity is ongoing. See our travel advice for Lebanon.

Australia Your Way

NSW Travel Guide

Why visit nsw.

NSW is home to more Australians than any other state. The state offers more diversity than any of its neighbours; there is a real outback, the country’s highest snowfields, a world-famous harbour and, of course, the much loved east coast beaches. You probably already have Sydney on your list, but there is so much more to NSW. When you begin to plan your itinerary, consider these facts:

  • 870 national parks and reserves to wander
  • 2137 km of coastline
  • Six UNESCO World Heritage areas
  • Australia’s oldest wine region
  • a true red dirt outback and all the great characters that go with it.

So let’s start exploring NSW and see what takes your fancy.

Regions in NSW

You could easily spend a year exploring the many towns of NSW; however, most travellers stick to the coast. However, there is so much to see, including the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley and outback!

The main regions of NSW are:

  • Blue Mountains
  • Central Coast
  • North Coast Region
  • New England
  • Central NSW
  • Outback NSW
  • Snowy Mountains
  • South Coast Region

There is enough variety in the state to keep you busy for years’ worth of holidays.

  • Getting to Noosa
  • When to visit

Friendly locals, slow beach days and unique adventure activities make Noosa one of Australia’s most popular beachside destinations.

Noosa is surrounded by stunning beaches, lakes, and the lush hinterland of Noosa National Park. It's also home to one of only two everglades systems in the world. If you are looking for adventure, it's at your feet. And if you want to unwind, indulge and take things at a leisurely pace, you'll find plenty of opportunity to spoil yourself here.

Getting to Noosa is easy, with flights arriving at Sunshine Coast Airport and nearby Brisbane airport.

  • Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) is 33km (21mi) from Noosa and services domestic arrivals
  • Brisbane Airport (BNE) is 137km (85mi) from Noosa and services domestic and international flights
  • Hire cars, ride shares and shuttle services are available from both airports. With limited public transport options in town, the easiest way to get around is by car

Being so close to Brisbane, Noosa is a popular holiday and weekend destination throughout the year. The town can be busy over the Australian school holidays , especially the long summer break (mid-December to the end of January), and Easter. Winters on this stretch of coast are mild, and you can comfortably swim at Noosa's beaches all year round.

  • High season: Summer (December to February)
  • Low season: Late autumn to early spring (April to September)
  • Don’t miss: Noosa’s packed calendar of festivals and sporting events
