Our 2020 Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB – Complete walkthrough and review

Welcome to the complete reveal and walkthrough of our  2020 leisure travel vans wonder rtb model, an rv that jennifer and i have totally fallen in love with.

  • 1.1 Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #1: Rear Twin Beds
  • 1.2 Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #2 – The “Garage”
  • 1.3 Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #3 – The Ford Transit AWD chassis
  • 1.4 Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #4 – A standup dry shower
  • 1.5.1 10 Other things we like about our Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB
  • 2.1 Mike and Jennifer's Summer T-Shirts for your next adventure

Over the eight years, we’ve bought and used a bunch of different Class B and B+ RVs. But this one – marketed as a Class B+ but legally for titling and insurance purposes a Class C motorhome – is the one that pushes more of our most-wanted RV features than any other coach we have had.

Photo of our Leisure Travel Vans Wonder on the road

We just released a mega-video walkthrough tour on our RV Lifestyle YouTube channel.

The video is almost 32 minutes long but we tried to cover every major feature of our new home on wheels.

In this article – meant to be a companion read – I’ll offer some other details about the things we show and tell in the video, specifically focussing in on 5 things that persuaded us to buy the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB.

For starters, here’s the video.

Now, let’s talk about our most-wanted features that we found in the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB.

Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #1: Rear Twin Beds

leisure travel vans rear twin beds

Rear Twin Bed is what RTB stands for. After years of converting a sofa into a bed and, most recently, setting up and taking down a Murphy bed on our previous LTV Unity FX model, the idea of having two beds in the rear of our unit all made up and ready was something we both really wanted. Those twins, by the way, can easily be pushed together into a Queen, as seen in the video .

Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #2 – The “Garage”

The garage on the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder can hold two bicycles

We like small motorhomes because they are small. Meaning maneuverable. But all of our previous RVs just did not have enough storage space to bring along all the things we wanted. I'm not talking about a crazy amount of stuff. I'm talking a couple of gravity-style lounge chairs.  Maybe some inflatable kayaks. Golf clubs. Cross country skis and poles.

Jennifer shows off the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder garage

Our new Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB model has a huge pass-through storage area in the rear that we call “the garage.” It can hold up to 500 pounds of cargo! I can even get a couple of bicycles in there.  (The RTB model is the only LTV Wonder model that has the garage.)

Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #3 – The Ford Transit AWD chassis

Photo of the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder parked

I wrote a detailed blog post that you can read about why we chose Ford Transit chassis versus the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis that our other RVs were built on. You can read that HERE . But let me just say that as an RV journalist, I feel I need to know and experience the Ford Transit as an RV because it is becoming so popular in the industry.

Add to that All Wheel Drive, which assures great traction on snow and ice (we love winter camping) and navigation over backcountry two-tracks (we love boondocking), and you can see why we jumped at the chance to get a Leisure Travel Vans Wonder with AWD.

Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #4 – A standup dry shower

Look at the video and you'll see how the self-contained, standup dry shower in our Leisure Travel Vans Wonder can accommodate someone 6'2″.  It even has a sunroof to let in lots of natural light. The RV comes with the Truma Aqua Go instant hot water heater which means water is always hot and you don't waste by having to leave it running to warm up.

Turn it on and it's instantly warm, and because the shower is totally separate from the rest of the RV, there's nothing that needs to be toweled off and dried. Except you, of course. The “wet” showers on the Class B RVs we used to have always required more time to dry the bathroom than it took to shower.

Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB feature #5 – Separate areas for sleeping, working, eating and lounging

The door on the shower has a double function. It can be used to seal the bedroom area at the rear of the coach from the front galley and lounge area. I'm an early riser. I get up about 5:30 AM. Jennifer (and Bo) like to sleep till around 7.

I can block off the back ( check the video to see how that works) and make my morning coffee, read, work, and putz around the front of the RV without disturbing them.

10 Other things we like about our Leisure Travel Vans Wonder RTB

Leisure Travel Vans Wonder picnic table

You'll have to check the video but they include:

  • The stowaway picnic table
  • The two 100 amp lithium batteries
  • The 400 watts of solar panels
  • The 2,000-watt inverter
  • The touchscreen Firefly control center
  • The massive inside storage under the beds
  • The large bathroom
  • The rooftop Winegard ConnecT2 Wifi Extender and 4G LTE antenna
  • Being prewired for satellite TV
  • The heater to warm the lithium batteries in cold weather

Finally, I know a lot of you are curious about how much the Leisure Travel Vans Wonder on the Ford Transit chassis costs. It starts at $119,210. Options are extra. If you want to price out one with the options you'd like, go to https://leisurevans.com/build/wonder/

Hi guys – Great video! We are in the beginning stages of shopping for our first RV, and the Wonder RTB really caught our eye, mostly for the floorplan. Loved seeing a little bit of how you’re organizing, and see yourselves using the space. Very helpful for us, as we have no RV experience to go from. Looking forward to watching and reading more!

  • Leisure Travel Vans has released the 2021 version of its Unity RV built on a 170-inch Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
  • The Unity has six possible floor plans ranging in price from $138,460 and $146,065.

Insider Today

Leisure Travel Vans has created a 2021 version of its Unity RV starting at $138,460.

Leisure Travel Vans specializes in creating Class C RVs on two ever-popular camper van chassis : the Ford Transits and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The Unity specifically is built on a 170-inch Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 chassis that is powered by a three-liter V6 BlueTEC diesel engine, allowing the tiny home on wheels to achieve 16 to 18 miles-per-gallon.

According to Leisure Vans , Unity's exterior was made to look "clean, stylish, and aerodynamic", which is achieved through several design details of the van, such as its frameless windows. This crisp appearance is also carried into the interior, which has a modern look and semi-customizable complimentary colors.

While there are minimal aesthetic changes between the 2020 and 2021 Unity build, the 2021 refreshment has several new standard features, such as a flip-down towel bar in the shower, latches on the exterior storage compartments, a magnetic accessory strip, and new dinette seats that make room for an optional inflatable bed.

Keep scrolling to learn about the 2021 Unity, which is paired with the 2020 photos due to the small number of aesthetic changes:

The van has a width of seven feet, 11 inches, and a height of 10 feet, 6 inches including the air conditioning unit.

The body of the vehicle itself is comprised of aluminum walls, insulated floors, and fiberglass roof.

All six of the 2021 Unity floor plans come with a dry bathroom setup that includes a shower, sink, and toilet.

Entertainment options onboard include a bluetooth-capable sound bar and several television screens around the tiny home on wheels.

For cooking on the road, Unity's kitchen comes equipped with a refrigerator-freezer, sink, cooktop and several storage cabinets.

There's also an optional exterior table that allows passengers to dine on the Unity kitchen-made meals outside of the van.

The RV comes equipped with LED and accent lights to brighten up the interior.

All of this is powered by a 2,000-watt inverter, two 6-volt coach batteries, and a water filtration system.

The driver and passenger seats are both heated and can swivel to face the interior of the van, allowing them to serve as extra seats at the dining table for certain floor plans.

leisure travel vans build and price

Its makers also included "upgraded" safety features, like lane-keep and active brake assistance.

leisure travel vans build and price

Leisure Travel Vans offers different upholstery and cabinet colors that allow the interior to be semi-customizable.

leisure travel vans build and price

For example, clients can pick between Cherry, Espresso Brown, or Sierra Maple colored wood cabinets for all of the Unity floor plans …

leisure travel vans build and price

… except for the Rear Lounge layout, which has either Cashmere or Natural Rift colored cabinets.

leisure travel vans build and price

The exterior paint color can also be changed to colors like Glacier, Denim, and Europe Sport, to name a few options.

leisure travel vans build and price

The van has six different floor plans with varying specs, amenities, and bed sizes and locations.

leisure travel vans build and price

The first floor plan, the $138,460 Island Bed, offers a 58-inch by 74-inch bed by the rear of the RV lined that's lined with storage units and wardrobes.

leisure travel vans build and price

The Island Bed layout can seat four people and sleep up to two while still offering up to 63 cubic feet of exterior storage.

leisure travel vans build and price

The layout also includes details like a pass-through storage compartment that has both interior and exterior access, and a chaise lounge by the front of the RV that can also be used as the dining area.

leisure travel vans build and price

The $138,915 Twin Bed floor plan unsurprisingly has two 34-inch by 76-inch twin beds with under-bed storage.

leisure travel vans build and price

The two beds can also be combined into an 88-inch by 76-inch king bed, allowing the build to seat four and sleep two.

leisure travel vans build and price

Like the Island Bed floor plan, the Twin Bed has pass-through storage and the chaise lounge.

leisure travel vans build and price

The $141,385 Corner Bed layout can seat and sleep four people with its 52-inch by 76-inch bed and dinette area that can convert into a second slumber spot.

leisure travel vans build and price

It also has 36 cubic feet of exterior storage space.

leisure travel vans build and price

The $146,065 Murphy Bed floor plan has, of course, a 68-inch by 76-inch Murphy bed and a daybed.

leisure travel vans build and price

There's also a subwoofer to accompany the standard soundbar.

leisure travel vans build and price

The dual seat and table lounge system, which is accessible when the Murphy bed isn't in use, can be configured into six different layouts

leisure travel vans build and price

The $143,725 FX takes a different approach with its floor plan by including a 68-inch by 76-inch Murphy bed, lounge seating that can convert into a daybed, and a couch in the rear with an ottoman that can be extended upwards to create a desk.

leisure travel vans build and price

This allows the van to sleep and seat up to two people while still including 34 cubic feet of exterior storage.

leisure travel vans build and price

The $142,935 Rear Lounge comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, an optional inflatable bed by the front of the RV …

leisure travel vans build and price

… and a rear lounge area with a sectional sofa that can turn into the bedroom when the 57-inch by 75-inch Murphy bed is lowered.

leisure travel vans build and price

This allows the unit to sleep and seat four people, but also offers the least amount of exterior storage: 30 cubic feet.

Leisure Travel

A Solid Foundation

It has been said that you don’t know where you're going if you don’t know where you’ve been. For Triple E Recreational Vehicles, our journey started more than 50 years ago with a small 13 foot travel trailer.

Today, Triple E is a premier manufacturer of Class C motorhomes with a reputation for building the highest quality and most innovative luxury, compact RVs in the industry.

In 2008, Triple E acquired Leisure Travel Vans, giving Triple E a quality Class B and C lineup with an established presence in the United States. This acquisition allowed Triple E to expand its dealer network and target the United States market.

In 2010, the RV division completed its consolidation of Triple E RV and Leisure Travel Vans into one operation. Due to the tough economic climate, Triple E made a strategic decision to discontinue Class A, travel trailer, and fifth wheel production, focusing solely on the Class B and C markets. All products would be constructed on a motorized chassis, streamlining production.

2009 brought the introduction of the revolutionary Unity U24MB, which featured the first automated Murphy Bed in a 24' Class C motorhome based on the Sprinter chassis. The Murphy Bed floorplan allowed for features such as a residential bed, a spacious front living area, and a large, separate bathroom. The product name Unity was chosen to reflect the joining of Leisure Travel Vans and Triple E RV as it was the first product to be fully designed and manufactured after the consolidation of the two companies.

From day one, Triple E has been a family company that strives to inspire dedication, loyalty, and work ethic. We have worked on building a culture where community is of utmost importance and we are fortunate to be located in an area with a rich cultural heritage.

Today we look to the future with renewed energy and optimism. Our company has strong leadership and an excellent workforce. Our products are recognized as some of the finest in the industry. The next generation of our company is driven by innovation while remaining committed to our long-standing history of quality craftsmanship.

6 Vacation-Ready Travel Vans & Campers You Can Buy Or Rent In 2024

W ith the weather getting warmer, you may be itching to get out of the office — and the house — for a much-needed vacation. However, with exorbitant airfare costs, you might be looking at more affordable options, such as going camping (or glamping) or a tried-and-true, good old-fashioned road trip. If this is the case, you're going to want the right vehicle to travel and stay in to get the most out of the experience and remain comfortable throughout.

Ideally, this vehicle or trailer will also be affordable, so you can better spend your money on other fun things during your vacation. One way to save money on a travel van or camper is by looking for an affordable campervan conversion that will outfit a van with customizable amenities for sleeping, eating, and more. A custom build takes time, however, and it may not be ready before your time off from work. Even so, there are still options for the travel vans and campers that are vacation-ready and currently available — here are six of them.

The Winnebago Travato Parks And Drives Easy

Winnebago is synonymous with motorhomes and RVs, but the American manufacturer also makes the Travato , one of the best-selling campervans in North America. With four different floor plans, the Travato's interior is 21 feet long and can comfortably sleep two. Depending on which model you opt for, you can sleep in twin beds, flex beds, or Murphy beds. The brand's WinnSleep system uses a dual-layer, high-density hygienic foam mattress and suspension system so that you can be just as comfortable sleeping on the road as you are in your own home bedroom. If you're not a light packer, there is storage space under the bed, as well as roof and bike storage, and RAM Tough-Track mounts are included to keep smartphones and devices conveniently nearby.

The Travato is capable of providing 12,000 usable watt-hours of power if you feel like taking the travel van off the grid. This electricity can be used for the vehicle's Eco-Hot water system, which can quickly heat water for cooking and cleaning, as well as cut down on wastewater. If you're camping out in colder weather, embedded roof and sidewall insulation and dual-pane, acrylic-insulated windows will help efficiently retain the temperature inside.

A swing-arm mounted table that swivels 360 degrees allows flexibility in the interior, which can also include a refrigerator, wet bath, and wardrobe closet. The travel van is also practical to drive on the road and park as you would with any normal-sized van, and its front seats can turn and be used as part of the living space. The base price for the Winnebago Travato is $185,749, though the cost will go up if you include rooftop solar panels and other additional options.

The Airstream Bambi Is A Compact Version Of The Iconic Flying Cloud

Airstream is famous for its iconic-looking trailers — if you were trying to recreate an old-fashioned road trip that looked straight out of the 1960s, the Flying Cloud — one of the best retro-campers you can buy — would help you achieve that vintage look. But, if you're looking for a much more compact trailer that would be a lot easier to pull behind you on your next vacation, the Airstream Bambi may be closer to what you're looking for.

The single-axle travel trailer has four different floor plans between 16 and 22 feet in size, and — despite its compact footprint — can sleep up to four passengers. You can sleep comfortably, no matter what the temperature is outside -- the camper has full air conditioning and heating. It's also got room for a galley kitchen, bathroom facilities, and a dinette and lounging space. Other features include stainless-steel kitchenware, stain-resistant seat cushions, roll-top lockers, a retractable awning, a 12V/110V LED high-definition TV and DVD player, Bluetooth stereo sound, a solar pre-wire kit, and a rearview monitoring system.

Like other Airstream vehicles, it's built with lightweight aluminum and a curved, vintage design. Since it's so compact, it's easy to maneuver and tow, and you won't have much trouble parking it or fitting it into a small campsite, making it great for a vacation spot as well as getting to and from that spot. The base package for the smallest Airstream Bambi starts at $60,400.

Consider The Grounded G2 If You Want To Go Fully Electric

If you're looking for a fully electric campervan for a more sustainable vacation, one manufacturer you can look at is Grounded. The Grounded G1 is one of the best electric campervans made , but it's not currently available — however, the Grounded G2 is travel ready and offers many of the same great features. The fully electric, solar-equipped Grounded G2 uses the BrightDrop Zero platform and is powered by a 173 kWh battery that allows for an impressive 250-mile range. An additional 10 kWh battery powers its spacious living area and the numerous amenities within it, including a kitchen with a fridge, freezer, and induction stove.

One thing you'll notice from the outside of the G2 is its high ceiling, which is 78.5 inches at its tallest point. Inside, it's 158 inches long and 75.2 inches at its widest, and has enough room for a queen-sized bed, bench seating with a flip-up table, and underseat and overhead storage. It also includes an outdoor shower and/or indoor wet room with a dry-flush toilet.

The travel van is loaded with many of the high-tech features you can expect from a luxury EV, and its companion Grounded+ app allows you to control the vehicle's lighting, temperature, appliances, and entertainment, as well as track location and driving data, battery status, and water and fuel levels. The interior is highly customizable, and Grounded says that it can still be built and delivered quickly if you leave a small deposit now. The base price starts at $195,000.

The Shasta Compact Will Keep You Warm In The Winter

The 2024 Shasta Compact has four different floor plans, but they're all relatively small if you're looking for a camper that's practical to travel with as well as affordable. The Shasta Compact models, which range between 16' 9" and 23' 1" long, are all easy to tow and have a hitch weight between 300 and 400 pounds. Its aluminum construction and fiberglass insulation won't weigh you down much, either.

It includes a jackknife sofa and blackout shades for the sleeping area, as well as a skylight and a powered roof vent. For bathroom facilities, it can include a marine foot flush toilet, shower, towel hooks, and a mirrored medicine cabinet, while its kitchen can include a two or three-burner stove with glass cover and a range hood with exhaust fan. The Shasta Compact also includes USB ports for charging your devices and a cable TV hook-up for more old-school entertainment in the living and sleeping areas.

The auto-ignition furnace comes in 18,000 or 25,000 BTU models, while the larger trims include fireplaces. A water heater bypass and water system winterization kit also comes standard. The roof is fully walkable and has a power awning attached with LED lights, while rack and pinion and carpetless slideouts are available for certain models. Depending on which Shasta Compact you go with, its MSRP is around $16,000.

The VanCraft Sprinter Can Go Off The Road And Off The Grid

The VanCraft Sprinter is an affordable campervan that won't break the bank if you're keeping costs in mind regarding your next vacation. Starting at $122,000, VanCraft offers three different-sized models of its travel van: the Rover, Rover XL, and Alltrek. The Rover is 19 feet long and has space for up to four people to sleep, while the larger models are three feet longer and can sleep up to six people.

VanCraft excels at building interiors that are easy on the eyes and will feel like you're staying inside a (small) fully furnished home. The cockpit includes black leather seats and a curtain will keep it separate from the living area, which includes maple walls, vinyl flooring, and a 6-inch memory foam mattress. A 45-quart refrigerator, induction cook top, and electric pressure regulator come with the kitchen, which is powered by the travel van's 200 Ah battery. A 320-watt solar panel and 3000-watt inverter provides juice to the battery, and passengers can use up to three 110V outlets and six USB outlets for various devices and appliances. The van's dash also includes Apple CarPlay and a 7-inch touchscreen.

Along with its solar power, the VanCraft Sprinter is great for off-the-grid travel thanks to its 40-gallon fresh water system, which is user-friendly and supplies an outdoor hot shower. If you plan on taking the van to colder climates, the water system can also be winterized, and you can opt for an all-season insulation package to keep warm more efficiently with less energy. Another available package is the VanCraft Sprinter's off-road option, which includes 32-inch all-terrain tires, a matte hood wrap, and a two-tone light pod kit, which will allow you to truly head off the grid.

The Thor Tranquillity Is For Those Who Like To Travel In Style

If you want to travel in style and are looking for a luxury campervan that will blow you away , one option is the Thor Tranquility . Built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis, it's a fairly compact travel van that still offers plenty of high-quality features. You can opt for a metallic gray or radiant silver interior, or mix and match the two options with the cabinetry.

Depending on which of the five models you go with, it's 19' 8" to 24' 4" long. At 10.5' tall, it offers plenty of headroom in the interior. The two captain chairs at the front can turn 180 degrees and be used for the living area, which includes a dual-burner gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink, dining table, and a high-definition 24-inch smart TV mounted on a flexible swing arm. A second overhead TV in the front and a Wi-Fi extended and 4G hotspot can also enhance your entertainment options. A sleeper sofa can fold out for more space, while the bathroom and shower are fully enclosed for privacy.

All-terrain tires and a 200-watt solar charging system with a solar charge controller will allow you to take the van wherever you want to go, while features like traffic sign assist, active lane-keeping assist, blind spot assist, attention assist, and cruise control make it easier to drive. A keyless entry system can also be included for added convenience. The MSRP of the Thor Tranquility starts at $180,460. It's available in four colors: Tenorite Gray, Blue Gray, Silver Gray, and Arctic White.

How to Get the Best Car Insurance

Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This influences which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. Here is a list of our partners and here's how we make money .

For a lot of people, buying car insurance is like buying sliced bread. It’s not the most exciting purchase, and the options all seem similar. So thrifty shoppers might simply reach for the cheapest thing on the shelf. But like cheap bread, cheap car insurance may leave you wishing you spent a little more on quality.

“The cheapest is not always the best,” warns Jessica McNally, an agency owner with Goosehead Insurance in Dallas. That’s because there are lots of factors that make up a car insurance company. And while price is one of them, it’s best to look at the bigger picture.

Here’s what to look for when picking the best car insurance company.

1. Choose a financially stable company

The best car insurance companies have plenty of money on hand to pay for customers’ claims. It’s important to check an insurer’s financial stability before buying a policy, especially if it’s a smaller insurer you’ve never heard of.

There are several independent agencies that evaluate the financial strength of insurance companies. One example is A.M. Best. You can use its online search tool to find an insurer’s financial strength rating. Companies with a rating of A or higher are considered to have an excellent ability to pay out customer claims.

2. Check customer satisfaction ratings and reviews

Not every insurer is customer-first. That’s why it’s important to research the customer satisfaction of insurers you’re considering.

You can turn to surveys from companies like J.D. Power to find insurers with the best customer satisfaction scores [0] J.D. Power . Auto Insurance Customer Satisfaction Plummets as Rates Continue to Surge, J.D. Power Finds . Accessed May 21, 2024. View all sources . Or, if you don’t mind doing a little detective work, you can compare customer complaints against insurers by using the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ website . But take other people’s emotionally charged comments about companies or agents you might read online with a grain of salt, McNally advises.

3. Look for convenience

A great auto insurer should offer multiple ways to manage a policy. For example, some insurers allow customers to use a mobile app to file and track claims. But it’s hard to tell how simple it’ll be to file a claim or perform other essential tasks, like paying your premium, before becoming a customer.

Some telltale signs that an insurer will be easy to work with are high mobile app ratings, flexible customer service hours and an easy-to-use website with helpful content. Consider asking a company representative to walk you through the claims process to learn what you’ll need to do if you have to file a claim. And pay attention to how the company communicates with you. "If they don't properly communicate, well, that's a warning sign," says Michael DeLong, a research and advocacy associate for the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America.

4. Pick an affordable company

Car insurance premiums are stretching to record-breaking heights [0] U.S. BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS . Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) . Accessed May 21, 2024. View all sources , and almost half of U.S. consumers shopped for a new car insurance policy in the past year, according to an April 2024 report by J.D. Power [0] J.D. Power . Half of Auto Insurance Customers Currently Shopping for New Policies, J.D. Power Finds . Accessed May 21, 2024. View all sources . The best car insurance companies offer competitive rates and a variety of potential discounts.

It’s not hard to get car insurance quotes online from many companies. Make sure you compare the same coverage options throughout the quote-gathering process. And don’t forget to look for car insurance discounts, like breaks for being a good driver, paying your premium in full or driving a new car.

More tips to find the best car insurance

When shopping for the best car insurance, keep the following tips in mind.

Assess your needs. Before buying car insurance, take a moment to reflect on what’s important to you and your family. For example, maybe you prioritize affordability and a well-polished mobile app, but don’t need accident forgiveness .

Consider small insurers. There are lots of small insurance companies you’ve probably never heard of. These regional insurers may provide lower rates and better customer service than the big companies you see advertised on TV.

Work with an independent agent. While it may be easy to get quotes yourself, independent car insurance agents and brokers can streamline the process. These experts vet companies and compile quotes from small and large insurers on your behalf. Independent agents and brokers can especially come in handy if you have a less-than-perfect driving record and can’t find insurance on your own.

Do your research. Search online for recent mentions of a company in the news before buying a policy, recommends DeLong. If you find a company has lots of recent lawsuits against it, you may want to think twice about signing on the dotted line. “And if they've had to pay out settlements, that's an even bigger red flag,” DeLong says.

Shop around once a year. Make a practice of shopping for car insurance every year — especially if price is important to you. Insurers adjust car insurance rates regularly, so what might have been the most affordable option last year may no longer be a bargain.
