Now there are more places to get Christopher's. Fall River cafe branches out to North End.

FALL RIVER — "Here we grow!" said Christopher Silvia, as he recently shared some exciting news about his popular Fall River cafe.

Locals can look forward to the same old Christopher's they've come to love over the past year, with double the places to get it.

Actually, there's no such thing as "same old" when it comes to Christopher's. But now you can get their ever-changing menu of tempting eats without having to drive as far.

Christopher's, which debuted at its South Main Street home last March, is branching out to the North End of the city next week with the opening of a second location.

Owners Christopher and Nathan Silvia will soon be serving up their “uniquely and unapologetically different” offerings in an equally unique new spot — inside the New Boston Medical Center, 373 New Boston Road .

"What this is going to do for us is allow people on the North End to not have to travel to our amazing neighborhood on the South End to get their salted chocolate chip cookies and their cinnamon rolls and their lobster stuffed quahogs and all that good stuff," said Christopher Silvia, who announced the news via Facebook post Sunday, March 3.

According to Nathan Silvia, the owner of the New Boston Road building is a frequent visitor at their South End eatery and was interested in having Christopher's fill their vacant cafe space. So the pair, who are "always looking to do more," decided to take this opportunity to expand the cafe's reach.

"It was just the right time, right place," Nathan said on Monday. "It's a very exciting opportunity and we're very excited to share it with everybody."

Christopher's expands reach in Fall River

Christopher noted in his post that the space is currently in "very raw form," and they'll be hard at work this week to get it ready and "make it super adorable."

But the turnover is expected to be quick, as the pair aim to open doors at the New Boston Road cafe on Monday, March 11, according to an update posted to Christopher's Facebook page Tuesday.

What to expect at New Boston Road spot

While their South End location can accommodate 10 people for eat-in, Nathan noted there is no seating at the New Boston Road spot. However, there is tons of parking in the lot.

Expect the daily menu to be similar at both locations, Nathan said, but a bit pared down at the New Boston Road site with more of an emphasis on grab-and-go items as there will be no cooking done on premises. 

That includes cold sandwiches such as their pastrami or roast beef, salads such as their berry and brie, an array of mouth-watering pastries and desserts — such as salted chocolate chip cookies, chocolate croissant with pistachio, and "Pastel de Nate’s" drizzled with white and dark chocolate — and coffee.

According to Nathan, their list of greatest hits on South Main features must-try lobster-stuffed quahogs and chowder, their Thanksgiving sandwich, selection of take-home dinners — from their lasagna to their Portuguese chicken dinner or mac and cheese — and breakfast sandwiches on Saturdays.

'Unapologetically unique' daily menu

Christopher's prides itself on its creative and always evolving (and drool-worthy) menu, which keeps folks coming back. 

"We're unapologetically unique," Nathan said. "Our menu changes every day so people are surprised every day. Nothing is ever the same and I think people like that."

However, folks can expect a lineup of certain options each day — at least one or two take-home dinners, two or three sandwiches, two different cakes, pastries, and now that the weather is warming up again — salads.

"It's whatever he thinks of that day," Nathan said of Christopher, who runs the show in the kitchen.

Christopher’s menu is usually be posted each day on their Facebook page . Most people will reserve right through Facebook via private message or by commenting on their posts, Nathan said, but you can walk in and order as well.

Celebrating one year

Christopher's marks its one-year anniversary this month, and has come quite a long way since launching last March at its 1816 S. Main St. corner spot, once home to the long-gone Jeff's Ice Cream.

The pair's stunning transformation of the building — from its chic and inviting interior to its curb appeal with seasonal greenery and decor — brought a much-welcome change to a sometimes overlooked area of the city, helping to reinvigorate the South End neighborhood.

It's also helped garner over 10,000 Facebook followers, and counting.

"It's been a very good journey, a very good learning experience," said Nathan, looking back on their first year in business. "Our clientele is very loyal to us and we're very grateful for the South End of Fall River."

According to Nathan, the pair knew each other for 19 years before embarking on the South Main venture together. Both came to the project with many years of prior experience in restaurants.

Nathan runs the front end of operations, while Christopher handles the menu and those enticing social media posts of Christopher's latest offerings.

While execution is anything but, Nathan said their vision for Christopher's cafe is simple: "to be different."

"We want to offer good, quality food and do small-batch items, so that way people are getting the quality, rather than mass produce and have numbers over quality," he said.

Building community

In addition to churning out a seemingly endless lineup of delectable dishes, the Silvias also offer catering and host events and special occasions — from birthday dinners to ladies night to brunch — at their intimate South Main space.

And they are always eager to support the community that's rallied around them from Day One.

"We've always wanted to give back to the community because they've been so good to us," Nathan said. "We were privileged enough to have when we grew up, so we just want to give back to some people that may not have."

They offered free drop-in lunches for kids in need this past summer , collected toy donations for Christmas and held sensory-friendly holiday events for local families. And coming up on March 24 from 10 a.m. to noon, they'll be hosting a free neighborhood Easter party, including pictures with the Easter Bunny, treats and pizza, at its South Main location, with a special time reserved for those with sensory sensitivities to enjoy.

When can we visit?

Christopher's New Boston Road location will be open starting Monday, March 11, at 8 a.m.

The Silvias plan on easing things, as the new eatery takes shape.

At the start, Nathan said they will likely operate with limited hours, and only on a couple of select days "to see what the response is and what they can handle there, and then we'll either ramp up and do more or adjust as business dictates." Updates on hours of operation and menu will be posted on Christopher's Facebook page.

Their South Main spot is open Tuesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.

According to their initial Sunday announcement, they may hold a pop-up at New Boston Road prior to officially opening.

When asked if the Christopher's duo has any plans to branch out further down the road, Nathan said: "Opportunities are endless but we're taking it one opportunity at a time and just seeing where things go."

Prior to 2023, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End was already selling plenty of copies and consistently ranked well without having an anime. From the beautiful animation, stellar soundtrack, and down-to-earth characters, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End was one of the highlights of 2023, and easily one of the best fantasy anime over the last decade .

Yuji Itadori is unlucky enough to have the King of Curses, Sukuna, reside in his body trying to take control. However, he is unique, given that he can resist the curse from taking control. He is sentenced to death, but before he is killed, he goes on an action and death-filled journey to find and consume all of Sukuna's fingers, and only then can he die, taking Sukuna alongside him. It isn't as easy as it sounds though, as many villains and masterminds stand in his way, but he takes them on with his friends and teachers .
