Every day is totally flexible – many guests have their own tasting wishlist but we’re happy to offer some suggestions – it’s good to remember that there may be some travel time between venues.

With tastings taking around 45-60 mins, we aim for 3 tastings before lunch and 1 or 2 tastings after lunch (depending on lunch and venue location, of course!)

DiVine tours will organize a fantastic wine tour for you in the Hunter Valley. Siobhan guided us (we were in the United States) to choose exactly the wineries we were interested in, then she called the wineries and made reservations for us. She picked us up at our hotel in a spotlessly clean vehicle, handed us an informative guide to the wineries, and off we went. At each stop she came by our table with 15 minutes to go to make sure that we wrapped things up and got back in the van for our next appointment. After talking with us on the tour she even added an extra winery that she knew we would like. I can't imagine a better guide or wine experience in the Hunter Valley. The winery is situated in the most picture-perfect hill area in the Hunter Valley. A visit to this winery will not disappoint in many ways, especially for those who love 360 views of the valley and selfies. The historical roots run long as 1866  when the Wilkinson family acquired the present site. The acquisition of the business by the Agnew family in 2004 bought a new life to the winery and 2006 was a remarkable year receiving awards for the Museum Semillion. One of the newest additions to the Hunter Valley venues, however, it came as one of the must-stop cellar doors with a very short note. No traveller wanted to leave the Hunter Valley on a private tour without tasting artisan Gin, Vodka, Liqueurs and Schnapps brewed by using award-winning organic raw ingredients. The Copperwave Gin is our choice of many other tasting options. The strength (45% alc/vol) and botanicals such as Juniper, Coriander, Cassia, Cinnamon, and Lemon Myrtle bring this Gin is an absolute bottle in the home cellar.

Hunter Cheese co

The first cheese shop in the Hunter Valley that produces handmade and preservative-free cheese from only freshet and locally sourced ingredients. The brainchild of Peter Curtis and Rose, the Hunter Cheese Co born in 1995. It was kept a family business since then creating delicious cheese that is loved by locals and many visitors to the Hunter Valley.

This private tour of the Hunter Valley lets you work out an itinerary tailored to you taste.

Once we reach the wine growing region of the Hunter Valley, we have a wealth of options – including a large selection of both vintners and producers of olives, cheeses, and other delicacies.

We can visit some of the award-winning vineyards in the in the Mount View area, which overlooks much of the wine growing region.  Then we head to Pokolbin for some of the well known vineyards, such as Pepper Tree Winery, McGuigan Wines, Audrey Wilkinson, Gundog, Tyrells, Oakvale, or Brokenwood, to name a few. You may choose the wineries we visit, or you can leave it up to us.

We can also experience cheese tasting, chocolates shops, a range 0f distilleries or beer tasting.

Lunch – Boutique Restaurants, Fine Dining, wood-fire Pizza or Pub Lunches.

When you are ready for lunch, the Hunter Valley supplies a wealth of options. Favourites include  Bistro Molines ,  Café Enzo .  A quick option may be gourmet woodfired pizza and salads prepared while you taste the  Brokenwood ,  Hope ,  Baumé at Ben Ean  or  Bimbadgen wines .  For a pub lunch we recommend,  Harrigans  or  Ironbark Hill .  Cheese tasting and charcuterie boards are available at various wineries too.

Our Charter tours pick-up and drop off from hotels and private addresses within the Central business district and the Northern Suburbs. We also pick-up and drop of at your desired location within the Hunter Valley wine region. Please contact us for other areas or for multiple pick-ups/drop-offs. We are very flexible and strive to accommodate your group.

Hunter Gleann Accommodation, Tours and Olives has been an evolutionary journey for us.

The Journey Began 2017

When we took ownership of Hermitage Hideaway alomst 6 years ago. It was a simple property with a few buildings, tired gardens and olive groves that were all but abandoned with no irrigation and looking for love. Hermitage Hideaway needed a lot of love, which is what we gave to it. We were new to tourism but not new to business and renovations, so we got into it and loved it.

We started to research other opportunities around our business to support our family of 6 and started Hideaway Private Tours in August 2020, focused on a luxury guest experience to the Hunter Valley.

The Olive Journey- 2021 Harvest

We were not sure how the olive trees would develop or if they would produce fruit, as many groves in the Hunter region are nonproductive. In 2021, we harvested our first crop with our second crop currently on the trees ready for harvest in 2023 and the positive responses to our handpicked with love marinated olives has been overwhelmingly positive.

Who would have guessed that our accommodation, olives, and tours would have grown the way it has? It was time to think rebranding in line with our new Olive production. Hermitage Hideaway Hunter Valley worked for our accommodation and Hideaway Private Tours Hunter Valley for our tours but what were we to name the olives?

The Future- Hunter Gleann Is Born

The decision was made to rebrand the whole business to one name that embraced our range of services and offerings. It also had to be a name that was an ode to our heritage. Hunter Gleann Pty Ltd was born. With our Scottish heritage we felt it only fitting to find a Gaelic word, we were drawn to the name Gleann which is an old Gaelic word meaning Valley.

Property Information

Hunter Gleann is in the heart of wine country in the N.S.W. Hunter Valley. It is about a 2.5 hour drive north from Sydney on the M1 Motorway and the Hunter Expressway. The property is set back from the road and has sweeping views of the Broken Back Range and is private and peaceful. Bird and animal life abound here amid the man-made wine industry and associated tourist attractions. The Homestead sits at the top of the hill and is a five bedroom, three bathroom residence that offers great views and plenty of space for groups of 8-13. The smaller but still roomy two bedroom, two bathroom Cottage sits on the same site and can comfortably accommodate 4-6 people. We are very close to a number of popular wedding venues as well as international golf courses plus the beautiful Hunter Valley Gardens, not forgetting a plethora of cellar doors, concert venues and amazing restaurants. Our property is perfect for weekend retreats and meditative practices and we provide a range of retreat packages for interested guests. Hunter Gleann is especially suitable for groups and families who all wish to be under the same roof. The break down of the bedrooms is bedroom 1 & 2 have queen beds and and bedroom 3 has a king bed that can be split to 2 long single beds.

You have full access to the full kitchen, living areas, fireplace and bathrooms.

Child rate is for children aged 2 - 12 years. Infants are at no charge aged 0 - 1 years

Public holiday long weekends are a minimum 3 night stay.

Rates are subject to change seasonally. No check in or out on Christmas, Boxing or News Day.

50% deposit is required to secure the booking. This can be paid either by credit card (via the booking window with 1.8% surcharge) or direct deposit. To pay by direct deposit, please call on 0424 184 083 and we will handle your booking via our front desk. The deposit is required within 3 working days to confirm your booking. The final balance is due two weeks prior to the booking.

SPECIAL TERMS Guest are requested to be mindful and respectful of the neighboring community by keeping noise to a minimum after 11 pm. We reserve the right to request a cash security deposit of $1000 for the repair or replacement value of damage or loss to the property. You are also liable for any time and effort involved in replacing or repairing any item that has been damaged or lost/stolen. This also includes excess rubbish and bottle.

Payment Policy

Payment is by Credit Card (via the booking window) or Electronic Funds Transfer as a direct deposit.

To pay by direct deposit, please call 0424 184 083 and to arrange your booking. We will send a booking confirmation with bank details for payment.

50% deposit is required within 3 days of booking to secure the reservation. The balance is to be paid 2 weeks prior to arrival.

Guests are requested to supply credit card details when making a booking in keeping with Little Hotelier Policy.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: Thirty days notice of cancellation is required, otherwise deposit will be refunded ONLY if accommodation can be re-booked.

Deposits may be transferred to another available date that is agreed upon by both parties without penalty if not cancelled with in 2 weeks of check in.

The total booking fee is forfeited if booking is cancelled within 48 hours of check in.

Cancellations or change of date will incur a $100 administration Fee in addition to other charges listed in policy

Please note there is no refund or change of date permitted for concert bookings if concert details are affected.
