Hue is a national city of Vietnam, and it used to be the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945). Today, the city is centered on many aspects of the Central such as culture, politics, health, education, tourism, and science, etc. The prominent sites here are the Perfume River and the legacy of the feudal dynasty.

An overview of Hue

Moreover, the city has five UNESCO heritages in Vietnam: the Hue ancient citadel relic complex (1993), Nha Nhac (Hue royal court music) (2003), Nguyen Dynasty’s wood blocks (2009), Nguyen Dynasty’s Chau ban (2014), and the literature on Hue royal architecture (2016). Hue is one of the three biggest cities in North Central Vietnam and one of the largest cities in Vietnam.

Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Hue has a history of formation and development of about seven centuries (since 1306). Over a long period, the city has integrated the precious material and spiritual values to create a cultural tradition in Hue. Hue culture is created by the special character of the spirit which is diverse in type, rich and unique in content, expressed richly in many fields such as literature, music, art, customs, festivals, behavior, eating - dressing - living, communication style, and lifestyle, etc.

Hue Imperial City

  • Hue Imperial City

On the northern bank of the Perfume River is a relic consisting of castles built in a defensive style forming an 11km arc. This precious work consists of more than 100 architectural works, which really reflect the life of the Nguyen Kings. The beautiful tombs of the Nguyen Kings are among the hills on the southern bank of the Perfume River. The four most famous tombs are Gia Long Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb, and Khai Dinh Tomb, of which each one is known by the king's personality.

Hue is also an important center of Buddhism. In Hue and the surrounding areas, there are dozens of pagodas built over 300 years ago and hundreds of temples and pagodas built in the early century.

Also, Hue is also seen as the origin of royal music and is home to many famous traditional dishes and sophisticated craftsmanship.

As the only city in the country still retains the appearance of a medieval city and the architectural integrity of a monarchy, Hue has become a great and priceless museum. Therefore, the government ranked relics in the ancient capital of Hue as an extremely valuable asset and in December 1993 Hue was ranked by UNESCO as a world cultural relic.

If the climate of the country is divided into the dry season and the rainy season, then Hue only has two other seasons: rainy season and less rainy season. The rainy season lasts from September to the end of December. Meanwhile, the less rainy season lasts from the end of December until the end of April. In the rest of the time, Hue weather is sunny. Tourists come to Hue at different times. by thepinay solobackpacker | Feb 27, 2020 | Hue , Itinerary , Travel Guide , Vietnam | 0 comments

The past is everywhere in Hue, the ancient imperial capital of Vietnam . Everywhere you go, there’s something unforgettable to admire.  From the extensive Hue Citadel and Imperial City, to the splendid Royal Tombs. Hue’s wealthy history is evident in a wealth of historic structures sprinkled around the city, that’s why is it is no surprise why it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nevertheless, Hue is not all about ancient history, you can also take advantage of the island’s intense natural beauty – from hidden stunning caves to postcard perfect national parks. Each has its own unique appeal, and many of them are quietly hidden away within the serene course of the Perfume River.

To help you prepare for your trip to Hue, here’s my DIY Hue Travel Guide with sample Hue Itinerary and Expenses.

TRAVEL BLOG CONTENTS

HUE ITINERARY

Achingly beautiful, Hue has a bittersweet history that shaped its present.  Thankfully, many of its worsts events eventually led to better situations that made Hue more resilient.

Hue sits along the Perfume River in Central Vietnam, clad by green rice fields and surrounded by forest-clad massif, including the Truong Son Mountains. It rose to fame during the Nguyen Empire, when it became the imperial capital of  the unified Vietnam.

Based on anecdotes , Hue used to be part of the O and Ly prefectures of  the Cham Kingdom, until it was given as a gift by Che Man, the Cham King to the Vietnamese King, during his marriage to a Vietnamese Princess named Huyen Tran of the Tran Empire sometime in 1306. O and Ly  was later on renamed to Thuan Hoa.

When Mac Dynasty escaped to Laos, the Le Emperors under the rule of Nguyen Kim were enthroned as Vietnamese rulers.  But Nguyen Kim was poisoned by a Mac Dynasty general, and his son-in-law Trinh Kiem who is married his daughter Ngoc Bao, took over the leadership. Nguyen Uong, Kim’s eldest son was also assassinated, to secure the reign of Trinh Kiem. Fearing for his life, Nguyen Kim’s other son Nguyen Hoang, feigned his mental illness, and asked her sister Ngoc Bao, to convince her husband Trinh Kiem to transfer him to Thuan Hoa, the farthest region in Southern Vietnam that time. Trinh Kiem eventually obliged due to the war in Thuan Hoa, little did he know that Nguyen Hoang will become the founder of the Nguyen Dynasty and eventually rule Southern Vietnam and refused to pay tribute to Northern Vietnam, which is under the rule of Trinh Dynasty.

After several years of war between the North Vietnam (Trinh Dynasty) and the South Vietnam (Nguyen Dynasty), in 1802, Vietnam was finally unified by Gia Long, born Nguyen Phuc Anh. Hue became the capital of Vietnam under the rule of the 13 Nguyen Kings. During the Nguyen Dynasty, construction of the Hue citadel was started near the Perfume River (Huong River), composed of palaces, temples, gardens, and pavilions. At the heart of the Hue Citadel is the Purple Forbidden City where the emperor and his advisers reside and work.

HUE TRAVEL GUIDE

If you’re wondering how the French was able to gain influence in Vietnam, it was because of Gia Long’s friendship with the French priest – Pigneau de Behaine, who became his advisor and helped many times in recruiting armies during the war against the Tay Son.

Unfortunately, much of the buildings inside the confines of the Hue Citadel were heavily destroyed during the uprising against the French rule, and later on during the Battle of Hue.  Out of the 160 buildings here, only about 10 stood the test of time.  The said buildings were restored and preserved and are now open to the public. Aside from Hue Citadel, during the Nguyen Dynasty, several ostentatious Royal Tombs were also built in the city.  Fortunately, these tombs were beautifully-preserved and can now be explored when traveling to Hue.

HUE TRAVLE GUIDE - HUE IMPERIAL CITY

Hue has 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and windy winter.

The rainy season in Hue is from September to February, avoid traveling to Hue from September to December due to heavy rains. Meanwhile, the summer season, which is the peak season, is from March to August.

If you want to avoid the heavy rains (as Hue is known to receive the highest rainfall in Vietnam), visit during July to August, when the weather is chilly and pleasant.

HUE MONEY/EXCHANGE

Vietnamese Dong is the currency used in Hue. But some tourist establishments such as hotels, restaurants, etc. may accept US Dollars.  The best rate is still the bank rates. I usually just withdraw from ATMS scattered around the city.

If you only have 2-3 days to spend in Hue, here are some of the top tourist spots in Hue that you can visit.

  1.HUE CITADEL

Entrance Fee: ( adult ) 200,000 VND – ₱438 (SGD 12, MYR 36, AUD 13, USD 9)

Parking Fee: 4,000 VND – ₱9 (SGD 0.24, MYR 0.72, AUD 0.26, USD 0.17)

Open Hours: Daily 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Hue citadel

Proudly standing at the heart of Hue is the heavily buttressed Hue Citadel, facing the Perfume River (Huong River) built by Gia Long, who was born as Nguyen Phuc Ang.  This former imperial capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Empire is sprawling, and you would need about half day to fully explore it. It is home to Hue Imperial City, Thai Hoa Palace, Trieu Mieu Temple, Royal Treasury, Royal Theater, Purple Forbidden City, and sprinkled with temples, pavilions, and gardens.

  2.THIEN MU PAGODA

Entrance Fee: FREE

Open Hours: Daily 7:30AM – 5:30 PM

THIEN MU PAGODA 2

Thien Mu Pagoda is Hue’s oldest Pagoda, founded sometime in 1601 through the order of Nguyen Hoang, the Governor of the Thuan Hoa province. It is also known as the Pagoda of the Heavenly Lady, sitting on top of the Ha Khe hill facing the Huong River (Perfume River).  Story has it that when the Governor found this area when he surveyed Hue for place to build his residence, the locals then told him about a tale of an old lady who appeared here saying a true Lord will arrive and build a pagoda there for the prosperity of the country.

The Thien Mu Pagoda was restructured on a larger scale during the reign of Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu, around 1691 to 1725.  Then the big bell with inscribed teachings was built in 1710. Three years later, additional structures were built in the area, only a few of them are standing to date. There’s also a school and rooms for the monks within the area, so you’ll most likely encounter a monk during your visit.

HUE TRAVEL GUIDE - THIEN MU PAGODA

But what really caught my attention here is a pale blue Austin car on display at Thien Mu Pagoda. The sign indicates that this was the car used by Thieh Quang Duc, a monk from Thien Mu who drove from his temple in Saigon in 1963, and got off somewhere in Hue and then sat in the cross-legged lotus position and set himself on fire as protest against the anti-Buddhist government that time.

You can also reach the Thien Mu Pagoda from downtown Hue by riding the dragon boat for tourists that sail through the Perfume River.

 3. TOMB OF TU DUC

Entrance Fee: (adult) 150,000 VND – ₱329 (SGD 9, MYR 27, AUD 10, USD 6)

                        (child, 7-12 y.o ) 30,000 VND – ₱66 (SGD 2, MYR 5, AUD 2, USD 1.29)

Parking Fee: 3,000 VND – ₱7 (SGD 0.18, MYR 0.54, AUD 0.20, USD 0.13)

Said to be the most impressive of all royal tombs in Hue, the Tomb of Tu Duc is where the longest reigning emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, who served for 35 years is supposed to be buried.  He ordered to construct a sprawling tomb that served as his residence.  Tu Duc has many wives, but no biological son, only an adopted son. It features man-made landscapes, manicured garden fringed with pine trees, a pavilion on a lotus pond, and sprinkled with palace buildings and temples. It is said that the construction involved forced labors and resulted in coup that was discovered and halted. It is believed that Emperor Tu Duc preferred living here due to the scenic atmosphere, which is perfect for his poetry.

Interestingly, Tu Duc was never buried here.  Based on anecdotes, no one knows where he was buried as upon his death to prevent it from being targeted by grave robbers. The 200 servants who buried the Emperor with his treasures where all beheaded after the burial.

 4. ROYAL TOMB OF KHAI DINH

Parking Fee: 5,000 VND – ₱11 (SGD 0.30, MYR 0.90, AUD 0.33, USD 0.22)

Open Hours: Daily 7:00AM – 5:30 PM

vietnam - hue tomb of khai dinh

Emperor Khai Dinh is the 12 th King of the Nguyen Dynasty.  Despite having many wives, he only has 1 son – Bao Dai, who is rumored to be adopted because Khai Dinh is presumed to be homosexual. Khai Dinh is known to be close to the French monarchy, he believed that Vietnam should learn from French and Western knowledge before becoming fully self-governing, reason why is detested by many Vietnamese. He is known to be the first reigning King of Vietnam who visited Europe when he attended a foreign show at Marseille in 1922. It is believed that his visit inspired the creation of his royal tomb, an ostentatious blend of Western and European architectural flair.

Hue - Khai Dinh

Situated on the slope of Chau Chu Mountain, the Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh is gray and is peppered with intricate designs.  You need to climb the stairs decorated  with dragons to reach the iron gate.  Here, you’ll find the forecourt with the octagonal stele pavilion in the middle. This reinforced concrete-made structure commemorates the life and achievements of  Emperor Khai Dinh. It also houses the imperial hagiography that was written by his successors. In front of the pavilion are  2 rows of honor guards ; a line-up of statue of bodyguards, horses, elephants, and Mandarins.  Then, you need to climb a few more steps to reach the mausoleum – the grandiose Thienh Dinh Palace. The ceiling here is astonishingly painted with dragons flying amidst the clouds, and its walls are speckled with bits of glass and porcelains. But the main draw is here Emperor Khai Dinh’s intricately designed crypt, with a life-size bronze status of  the sited Emperor Khai Dinh under a lavish ceramic-and-glass mosaic designed canopy.

The center rear of the palace reveals the piece de resistance: a  life-size bronze statue of the enthroned Emperor Khai Dinh , sitting under a concrete canopy decorated with a ceramic-and-glass mosaic. The statue was cast in France in 1920; the canopy weighs over a ton, belying its lacy appearance.

The Royal Tomb of Khai Dinh tooks years to be completed.  In fact, it was his son Bao Dai, the last reigning Nguyen Emperor who completed the structure, 6 years after the former emperor’s death. It is the last royal tomb constructed in Hue, Vietnam.

5.TOMB OF MINH MANG

                        (child, 7-12 y.o ) 30,000 VND – ₱66 (SGD 2, MYR 5, AUD 2, USD 1.29)

hue royal tomb

Minh Mang (Nguyen Phuc Dam) is the second emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, the 4 th son of Emperor Gia Long. He governed Vietnam from 1820 to 1840.  He is known for his firm belief in Confucianism and his opposition to the French imperialist. But because Emperor Minh Mang supported cultural assimilation of non-Vietnamese ethnic group, this caused many uprisings. Emperor Minh Mang is said to have many wives and concubines, and have roughly 142 children from 43 wives.

The Tomb of Minh Mang is sitting on the west reservoir of the Perfume River  in An Bang village, sheltered by pine trees and lagoons.  There are palace and pavilions, sprinkled around the 40 acre walled property, arranged proportionally along a line running from Di Hong Gate to the foot of the wall behind the Emperor’s grave. The Tomb of Minh Mang was planned by the Emperor himself, but was completed by Thieu Tri, his successor.

6.THE JAPANESE BRIDGE: THANH TOAN BRIDGE

Parking Fee: FREE

Open Hours: 24/7

Hue Travel Guide - Japanese Bridge (1)

One of my favorite tourist spots in Hue is the ancient Thanh Toan Bridge.  It is standing proudly on the rural village of Than Thuy in Huong Thuy district.  This Japanese covered bridge closely resembles a modest house overlooking a canal and a scenic rice field.  It is often dubbed as the sister bridge of the more famous Hoi An Bridge .  The Than Toan Bridge is supported by massive stone pillars and its roof is ornately decorated with dragon, turtle, phoenix and unicorn. Inside the bridge is a small altar and 6 rest wooden partitions where locals usually sleep and rest.

Once you cross the bridge, you will find Thuy Thanh’s small museum that showcases rice harvesting tools and traditional games and clothes of the locals.

  7.AO DAI SHOW

free tour hue

(photo provided by Klook)

One of the interesting things to do in Hue is watching the Ao Dai Show.  Ao dai is Vietnamese traditional costumes worn in the past by Nguyen lords.  Through this play, you can admire the rich heritage of Hue’s imperial court under the Nguyen era.  You’ll get to see varied, colorful ao dai traditional garments  and watch a Royal paper Fan dance, Lotus Dance, Cup Dance, and even Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts. What’s also great about the Ao Dai Show is there’s an interaction, exchange and cultural sharing between the visitors and performers. Guests can also wear the traditional clothes and experience wearing the Emperor, the Queen, the Prince and Princess, etc garments.  The script they use changes every month to showcase the colors and variety of Vietnamese culture.

8.TAM GIANG LAGOON

Tam Giang Lagoon is another famous tourist spot in Hue, one of the largest lagoons in Southeast Asia. The biggest rivers in Hue like the Perfume River, Bo River, and O Lau River all flow into the Tam Giang Lagoon. It’s quite a distance from Hue’s center but you can join organized group tours to reach this place. Sunset is the best time to visit, when the sky turns pinkish and tangerine and reflects on the calm water of the lagoon.  By joining the group tours, you can also experience fishing with the locals using nets and drop by traditional Vietnamese village. You can also sample the fresh seafood such as clams, crabs, shrimps, etc. when you dine at one of the cottages here. Tam Giang Lagoon supports the livelihood of the locals who rely on its resources.  The seafood caught daily in Tam Giang Lagoon are sold in local markets. Local handicrafts are also abundant in the area.

There’s a scenic nature park that is accessible from downtown Hue – Bach Ma National Park , covering around 22,000 hectares of land. It’s a former hill station for the government officials during the French-era, which was chosen by Girard, a French engineer because of its cool climate. Several French-inspired villas and hotels were built here. But what really draw tourists here are the natural attractions such as the scenic Five Lakes and the Do Quyen Falls.

If you are adventurous enough, you can go trekking at Bach Ma National Park.  You can visit the most popular tourist spots here including the  Five Lakes and the Do Quyen Waterfalls.   You can even swim or take a dip in one of the lakes and waterfalls.

The most convenient way to visit Bach Ma National Park from Hue center is by joining affordable, organized group tours. See link below.

  10.PHONG NHA CAVE

Phong Nha Cave is part of the sprawling Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Quang Binh Province.  This massive cave is home to one of the longest river caves in the world that is clad by stalactites and stalagmites.  Despite measuring over 7,700 meters long, only the first 1,500 meters of Phong Nha Cave is open to tourists.  This part contains several grottoes and chambers.  Phong Nha Cave used to be inhabited by the Cham indigenous people as demonstrated by the ancient inscriptions on the walls of the caves, dating back to thousands of years ago.

HUE SIDE TRIPS

Located midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang is another popular touristy destination in Vietnam.  And it’s proximity to Hue and Hoi An makes it a perfect side trip, especially if you are looking for a good beach in Vietnam.

There are direct flights from Singapore and Malaysia to Da Nang International Airport, so if you want to explore Central Vietnam, you can fly here and then take a bus, train or rent a car to Hue or Hoi An.   If coming from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, there are cheap flights to Da Nang via Viet Jet and Jetstar, as well, it is sometimes cheaper than taking an overnight bus from the 2 major cities.

DA NANG SIGHT SEEING TOUR: RESERVE HERE

The charming town of Hoi An, originally inhabited by the Cham people in the olden days, is another destination when visiting Central Vietnam. It can be done as a side trip from Hue or before going to Hue.  This colorful town is peppered with age-old shophouses converted into restaurants, cafes, boutiques, hotels, galleries, and tailor shops.

For a more detailed blog about Hoi An, check my Hoi An Travel Guide with Budget Itinerary through the link below.

Hue, vietnam itinerary.

One day should be enough to explore the top tourist attractions in Hue like the Hue Citadel and the Royal Tombs.  However, if you want to make a side trip to Phong Nha Cave or Bach Ma National Park, you can add additional 1-2 days on your Hue trip.

Here’s a sample 1-2 Day itinerary for Hue with sample budget.  Feel free to modify it depending on your schedule, budget, and preferences.

Take note the sample Hue itinerary expenses below doesn’t include the hotel, drinks, souvenirs, and transportation between Hue and your place of origin.

HUE, VIETNAM TRAVEL TIPS

HUE CITADEL

  • If you run out of Vietnamese Dong, you can try paying in USD, many tourist establishments accept USD as mode of payment.
  • Bring a refillable water bottle to keep yourself hydrated during your Hue tour.
  • Wear sunscreen if traveling during summer, to protect your skin from extreme sun. Bring foldable umbrella in case it gets too hot or if it rains heavily. Better to bring sun glasses and cap too. As I mentioned, Hue has erratic weather. So best to be prepared. If visiting during the rainy season or shoulder season, bring jacket and rain coat.  Raincoats are widely available in the city too.
  • Do not sit or touch artifacts.
  • Wear appropriate attire when entering temples, avoid wearing shorts when visiting temples and sacred places.
  • Don’t carry flammable materials.
  • No smoking in palaces, historic buildings, temples, pine forest, and other flammable places.

Everything you need to know before arriving in Purple Forbidden City of Hue

Hue tours with Origin Vietnam team: Once previously known and visited by the emperor and a select few special people, only a myth whispered among st common civilians. Suprisingly enough, Vietnam had the same story with one of its cities:

Hue. Known as Vietnam’s Imperial City, it has been around since the Nguyen Dynasty first took its long stance as head of the country. The Imperial Citadel, Khai Dinh’s Tomb, Tu Duc’s Tomb, and Thien Mu Pagoda; these are just a few of the many things you can partake in when you visit this interesting city. End your thrilling day with a cruise on the gorgeous Perfume River!

Being once the unique and spectacular Vietnamese Capital, UNESCO has listed the city of Hue as a World Heritage Site. Southeast Feudal Asian designs are obvious in the vast complexity of the Hue Monuments and their construction. If you bring a partner, the Perfume River that lines the edges of the city can be a nice romantic getaway because of its beauty and awe-striking views.

Rivers and caves are another natural tour site destination, and even certain buildings and streets can be toured as they give the same amount of cultural identity as the wildlife. Palaces, dancers, temples, shrines, and gold…all included in this wonderful tour of Hue .

Our Hue private tours run every day, so there is no need to worry about us running out of booking space. The only thing we ask is that you familiarize yourself with some facts and knowledge before your travels. Read up of the UNESCO-praised Royal Citadel and Royal Court Music before touring, so that when you see these places, you can have a personal experience with the ancient walls that you cannot feel anywhere else.

To us, value is built upon abiding relationships with our customers, thus we act accordingly when it comes to affordable tours.

Free guided tours of rare butterfly habitat still available at Fort Indiantown Gap

  • Published: Jun. 26, 2024, 10:32 p.m.

free tour hue

The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) wildlife staff during July will provide free guided tours of the only population of the rare regal fritillary butterfly in the eastern United States at Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County.

Reservations are required and attendance is limited, according to a release.

All attendees, including children, must register online at www.ftig.isportsman.net/ButterflyTours.aspx and obtain a free permit. To attend a tour, you must present a permit for that specific date and time slot.

Guided tours will be offered, rain or shine, on July 4, 5, 6 and 7. No rain dates will be provided.

“These tours allow the public to see this rare butterfly and its grassland habitat on military training ranges, as well as the many other natural wonders on the 17,000-acre military installation,” Robert Hepner, DMVA Director for Facilities and Engineering. said. “Staff will also highlight a variety of animals and plants found at Fort Indiantown Gap and how the military presence on the installation is vital to the persistence of these species and their ecosystems.”

Attendees will be required to travel from the meeting location to the tour location in their personal vehicles. Tours will last approximately one hour plus driving time. Meeting location and parking information will be provided after obtaining a permit.

Visitors of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. Tours will be on foot on gravel roads and mowed paths. Those attending are asked to bring drinking water and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for uneven terrain.

Wandering off the path, into the fields, or away from your tour guide is prohibited. There will be little or no shade on the tour route. Like many military installations, Fort Indiantown Gap is home to a diverse population of plants and animals, many of which are rare and considered species of conservation concern. It is home to 49 species of mammals, 143 species of breeding birds, 37 species of reptiles and amphibians, 35 species of fish, more than 800 species of plants, and many notable species of invertebrates including 86 species of butterflies and more than 500 species of moths.

They are supported by an assortment of high-quality habitats, including rare early successional ecosystems such as grasslands, thickets, shrublands, and young forests that were created and maintained from disturbances caused by military training, fires, and conservation efforts.

The installation is home to 1,000 acres of scrub oak and pitch pine barrens and approximately 2,200 acres of native grassland habitat – the largest in the state.

Fort Indiantown Gap, which serves as headquarters to the DMVA and the Pennsylvania National Guard (PNG), is the only live-fire, maneuver military training facility in Pennsylvania.

The 17,000-acre installation balances one of the region’s most ecologically diverse areas with a military mission that annually supports nearly 18,000 PNG personnel and more than 113,000 additional personnel from other branches of service, multinational partners and interagency partners at the federal, state and local level.

General inquiries about the tours can be emailed to [email protected] or call (717) 861-3299.

Sexyy Red dances onstage with a microphone in hand.

Consider the 2024 election officially a three-party race.

Budding Hip-Hop icon Sexyy Red just threw her hat into the ring, announcing the ‘Sexyy Red 4 President Tour’ that will send her and special guests Hunxho , Loe Shimmy, BlakeIANA and another unnamed special guest to arenas all over North America from August through October.

The tour is presumably in support of her recently released, not quite politically-inspired album “In Sexyy We Trust.”

Sexyy New York fans need not worry either.

While on the campaign trail, the 26-year-old rapper will stump at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

“WE POPPING OUT AND TURNING TF UP,” she shared on Instagram .

If you can’t wait to pop out and turn up with this year’s most electric candidate, tickets are available for all Sexyy Red concerts as of today.

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming ‘Sexyy Red 4 President’ shows on sites like Vivid Seats ; the official on-sale is Friday, June 28.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Sexyy Red tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Sexyy Red 2024 festival appearances

Prior to the tour’s launch, Sexyy will headline at a pair of festivals.

For a closer look at what to expect from the multi-day music extravaganzas, here are the essential details you need about Sexyy Red’s 2024 festival appearances:

Sexxy Red set list

Sexyy Red’s last non-festival gig was on April 5 in Jacksonville, FL.

According to Set List FM , here’s what she took to the stage that night:

01.) “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)” 02.) “Hood Rats” 03.) “Shake Yo Dreads” 04.) “Get It Sexyy” 05.) “I Don’t Wanna Be Saved” 06.) “I’m the S***” 07.) “Peaches & Eggplants” (Young Nudy cover) 08.) “Mad at Me” 09.) “SHAKE SUMN” (DaBaby cover) 10.) “Looking For The Hoes (Ain’t My Fault)” 11.) “Hellcats SRTs” 12.) “SkeeYee” 13.) “Rich Baby Daddy” (Drake cover) 14.) “Get It Sexyy” 15.) “Pound Town” 16.) “Sexyy Walk”

Sexyy Red new music

On May 24, Sexxy Red dropped her third mixtape “In Sexyy We Trust.”

Comprised of 14 tracks, the album goes hard all the way through with club-ready trap beats and sticky, NSFW rhymes that will rattle around in your head for days.

Standout tracks include the anthemic “Get It Sexyy,” smooth, danceable “Fake Jammin'” and throwback bop “Outside.”

Make sure to stay until the end, too; that’s when Sexyy drops the likely soon-to-be birthday party staple “It’s My Birthday.”

Need to give the mixtape a spin? You can listen to “In Sexxy We Trust” in its entirety here .

Sexyy Red special guests

At all shows, Sexyy will be joined by an opening act or two.

To make sure you’re familiar with their sounds, you can find each artist’s most-streamed track on Spotify below.

Hunxho: “Let’s Get It”

Loe Shimmy: “4 AM at Coffee Zone”

BlakeIANA: “BING BONG”

Interior designers share 12 ways to make your home look better without buying anything

  • We asked interior designers to share their best decorating tips that didn't cost money to follow.
  • To spruce up your space , try moving pillows from one room to another and color-coding bookshelves.
  • Interior designers also suggested using leftover paint or branches from outside to decorate with.

First off, decluttering your space can make a huge difference.

free tour hue

Javier Fernandez, an interior designer at Transitional Designs , said decluttering can change the look and feel of any room.

"Look at your dining room," he said. "Is the dining table stocked high with mail and projects that you had planned to get to? Well, there's no time like the present to clear and organize it."

Give the carpets in your home a deep, thorough clean.

free tour hue

Washing your carpets is another free way to spruce up your space, Courtney Turk, the owner of and interior designer at Courtney Turk Interiors , told Business Insider.

"Get your hands dirty and scrub your rugs," Turk said. "By giving your rugs a deep clean, it will refresh your home and also help to prolong the life of your carpet as well."

Rearrange some items you already have and turn them into decorative, or useful, accents.

free tour hue

Once you've decluttered , consider adding streamlined accents. These types of carefully curated accents can accentuate a room while keeping the space clean and uncluttered, according to Christina Nielsen, an interior designer at Christina Nielsen Design .

Nielsen suggested placing a bowl of fruit or a stack of lemons on top of some cookbooks in your kitchen or adding a small plant or floral arrangement in your entryway. These accents can be practical, too.

"If you have a console table in the foyer, make sure everything is easily accessible ," she said. "Create a spot for your keys — I love leaving a little dish out for this."

Organize your bookshelves and try sorting them by color or separating them with pretty knickknacks.

free tour hue

Turk said that if you have shelves filled with books, you should try displaying them in a more unconventional way.

"Stack them on top of one another, and add in a few favorite pictures or vases you may have stored away to create some depth and character on the shelf," she told BI.

You can also place books of similar colors together and try to create variations to display them.

Go "shopping" in your home to find items you may not be using or could be displaying somewhere else.

free tour hue

Sometimes the best "shopping" is quite literally done in your own home, Fernandez said.

"Check the attic, storage room, and closets. You'll likely find something you put away a while ago," he told BI. "Now, with fresh eyes, you can see how it might work in one of your rooms."

For example, he said, a den or a living room can be easily transformed if you hang up different curtains or change the wattage on your light bulbs to create mood lighting .

Try angling your furniture differently or positioning it in a new way.

free tour hue

Rearranging your accent pieces and furniture is one of the quickest and easiest ways to change the look of a room , according to Fernandez.

"Adjust the lines of your room by angling your sofa and chairs differently, making sure natural light is the highlight here to enhance the spatiality of a room," Nielsen added.

Use leftover paint to breathe new life into a room.

free tour hue

"Just about everyone I know has some leftover paint sitting in storage," Fernandez said. "In my opinion, there's nothing like a fresh coat of paint."

If you don't have enough paint to freshen an entire room, you can just paint one wall as an accent. Or, he added, you can use painter's tape and a bit of precision to create a pattern on the ceiling.

Use branches and wildflowers from outside to add natural decor into your home.

free tour hue

Flowers can help brighten up a space and  bring nature indoors , Fernandez said.

"Gather some branches and florals [from] outdoors for a seamless and cost-effective way to update your home instantly," Nielsen told BI. "In the spring, a large array of cherry blossoms are my favorite."

Try adding accents and new touches to pieces you already own.

free tour hue

If you want to get crafty, try using some of the leftover fabrics, buttons, and lace you may have found while decluttering.

These adornments can be used to revamp curtains , throw pillows, or blankets, Fernandez said.

"Taking a simple ribbon and adding it as trim to your existing curtains will immediately change the look of them," Fernandez told BI. "Go through the bag of spare buttons, take out the colorful one, and go to town applying them to that old throw pillow."

Rearrange your pillows or move them to a different spot.

free tour hue

Moving your pillows from one room to another is also a way to update your home's look , Nielsen said.

"Rearrange them on your sofa, swap in a pillow from another room, eliminate some pillows to create a sleeker space, or stack pillows on top of your bedding — preferably all white — for a crisp effect," she told BI.

Find a new way to hide your wires and cables to create a neater space.

free tour hue

Another great way to neaten up your space is to hide the unsightly cables and wires that may be sticking out of your television or internet router.

"By doing so, it immediately upgrades the space from feeling disheveled and incomplete to put-together and high-end," Turk said.

Numerous hacks exist to hide them from sight, such as pushing them behind furniture , tucking them into a drawer, or using cord covers.

Swap out the photos in your frames.

free tour hue

Another great way to update your space is to swap out photos in your picture frames with newly printed ones or old ones that you've stored away.

If you have wall space, you can also create a gallery wall of your favorite photos, Fernandez added.

Scottie Scheffler wins PGA Tour event after 6 climate protesters run onto 18th green and spray powder

Updated on: June 23, 2024 / 8:58 PM EDT / CBS/AP

Six people protesting climate change stormed the 18th green while the leaders were lining up their putts on the final hole of regulation at the PGA Tour's Travelers Championship on Sunday, delaying the finish for about five minutes.

The protesters sprayed white and red powder, leaving stains on the grass before Scottie Scheffler , Tom Kim and Akshay Bhatia finished their rounds. At least one member of the group was wearing a white T-shirt with the words "NO GOLF ON A DEAD PLANET" in black lettering on the front.

Scottie Scheffler won the championship in a playoff, waiting out a disruption for his sixth victory of the year. That's the most wins in one PGA Tour season since Tiger Woods had six in 2009. And Scheffler, the world's top-ranked player, still has two months to go.

Travelers Championship - Final Round

"I was scared for my life," Bhatia said about the protesters after finishing in a tie for fifth — four strokes behind Scheffler, who earned his sixth victory of the year. "I didn't even really know what was happening. ... But thankfully the cops were there and kept us safe, because that's, you know, that's just weird stuff."

After the protesters were tackled by police and taken off, Scheffler left a potential 26-foot clincher from the fringe on the right edge of the cup, then tapped in for par. Kim, who trailed by one stroke heading into the final hole, sank a 10-foot birdie putt to tie Scheffler and send the tournament to a sudden-death playoff.

Travelers Championship - Final Round

Kim said the protest took his mind off the pressure.

"It kind of slowed things down," he said. "It took the meaning of the putt away for a second. Because for the past 17 and a half holes all you're thinking about is golf, and suddenly when that happens your mind goes into a complete — like, you're almost not even playing golf anymore. I thought it was a dream for a second."

The crowd surrounding the 18th green heckled the protesters by yelling profanities and cheered the police who intervened.

The Cromwell Police Department Sunday evening confirmed six protesters, ranging from age 25 to 55, were arrested. All were charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass and breach of peace. "The reason for their protesting will not be released, as the department does not want to give their cause any more attention than what has already been received," police said.

Travelers Championship - Final Round

After the players putted out in regulation, workers with leaf blowers came out to clean off the remaining powder, and the hole location was moved for the playoff, which began on No. 18. Scheffler beat Kim with a par on the first playoff hole.

"They left a lot of marks on the greens, which is not right for us players — especially when two guys are trying to win a golf tournament," Kim said. "But I'm very grateful for the tour and the tour security for handling that really well and making us players feel a lot safer."

Scheffler's victory came a few weeks after prosecutors dropped criminal charges against him on May 29, less than two weeks after he was arrested outside the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.

Scheffler was initially charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic when he was arrested outside Louisville's Valhalla Golf Club, which was hosting the tournament.

Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell told a judge his office couldn't move forward with the charges against the world's top golfer based on the  evidence  and he moved to dismiss the case.

After the charges were dropped, Scheffler  said on social media  that he didn't hold any ill will toward the detective who arrested him.

Melanie Martinez 2024 setlist: Every song she sang when the Trilogy Tour hit Phoenix

free tour hue

Melanie Martinez brought her version of The Eras Tour to Phoenix on Tuesday, June 25, when the Trilogy Tour hit Footprint Center.

The show was divided into three acts — one for each of the alt-pop superstar’s three full-length efforts — “Cry Baby,” “K-12” and “Portals.”

Unlike Taylor Swift, Martinez took a strictly chronological approach, beginning her journey with a trip through “Cry Baby,” her double-platinum breakthrough from 2015.

Martinez treated fans to nearly every song on her full-length debut, a few of which were shortened, before moving on to her second album, “K-12."

The theatrical extravaganza ended with a third and final act that featured nearly every song on last year’s “Portals,” the singer’s third consecutive release to top the Billboard Alternative Albums chart, ending as the album does with "Womb."
