Great Staff

We have a package booked for next April where we fly to Miami, spend 2 nights there and then sail back to the U.K. We weren’t happy with the hotel that had been allocated so Farah got us a better hotel. We’ve always been happy with Cruise1st but have never had any issues before. It’s when there is a problem that you see the true worth of a company and Farah certainly went the extra mile to get us something we were happy with. And, she kept us informed and updated regularly. I would like to take this time to write a review about Cruise 1st and in particularly a staff member called Mary Issac. She is an absolute gem. She continuously goes above and beyond to help and sort every issue and make us so happy and confident with our booking. She spends endless hours searching deals and getting us exactly as we ask for. She always replied immediately, even if she’s on a phone call she would send a message or an email will come through to say she will return the call. I honestly hope she gets recognition as she is one of the best and the most attentive agents ever! The young lady was very helpful

The young lady was very helpful. She had to check a few things out and rang me back and got all sorted. She was very patient as I wanted to make a few changes to flights. In the interim we rang friends who decided to join us on the trip. So she got to book two couples.

the site has changed (for the worse) and now there is no longer the possibility of booking independently. I am a very experienced cruise traveller, with more than 50 cruises under my belt, and I can no longer book directly without the intervention of an operator who only makes me waste my time

Great experience

UPDATED I agree with many of the reviews about Customer Service being fantastic to deal with when booking and would also add that Cruise1st organise some brilliant land tours/cruises. We have done 2 amazing trips, one to the Rockies and Alaska and most recently a Peru tour including Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca followed by a south America cruise. Both were incredibly easy to book and the Canadian trip went pretty much without a hitch, and other than budget hotels in isolated locations (not all), we had no complaints. We had some communication issues with the South American trip which Cruise1st were slow to sort out and led me to only give a 3 star rating. I have now updated to 4 stars because customer services finally came good and the issues were resolved. Both trips were fantastic, memorable and extremely good value and I will certainly consider using Cruise1st in the future.

Great help with booking Thanks to Mary

Mary our cruise advisor was amazing , from first contact she looked for the itinerary we were looking for, Called us back to discuss and helped us right through to booking. Mary helped to sort out alternative flight times she even booked the shared transport ready for out departure of the ship. This was a really lovely easy experience to booking out cruise Mary sent email to confirm everything and her advice re Balcony and money saving ideas were great I wouldn't hesitate to book the cruise1st and particularly with Mary !

I have to say I am beyond disappointed

I have to say I am beyond disappointed with the service we have received over the past few months. The cruise and hotel booking were straight forward however the flight planning has been a disaster . We asked to be upgraded so we were moved to another airline but when I checked the details they had forgotten to arrange uk transfers. So after multiple calls and emails we were moved back to the original airline ,as Virgin was apparently no longer an option and told to contact re upgrade. No further communication took place and we were just moved to AA . However when checked as they had booked AA but flying BA it would cost nearly 5k!! The customer service staff are lovely but it seems their hands are tied and the flight department just book what they like and no apologies for messing up.Perhaps the flight department could communicate with customers to ensure they get the flights they want and are paying for? Absolute chaos for months just hope we get the cruise we have booked as I’m not optimistic .Such a dreadful experience we certainly won’t use again and would not recommend others to either.

Don’t use Cruise 1st

MSC cancelled our cruise. Bought a package through Cruise 1st. My Cruises, Trip A Deal and Flight Centre gave their customers all their money back on the same cruise. Lost $2253 in cancellations fees. Bought upgraded flights. On the hotel cancellation fee they refunded another customer $253 but won’t refund me the hotel cancellation fee. Don’t know how that is fair. Wish I read the reviews before I bought this package through Cruise 1st. You think your getting good deal but in the long run more expensive.

cruise 1st cancellation nightmare

I booked a cruise tour package with them, they cancelled because MSC cancelled it. I have been fighting for over 3 months to get a refund as they are taking hefty cancellation costs. I did not cancel the cruise. Very disappointing. A nightmare.

I booked a cruise with my friend

I booked a cruise with my friend, and found a few months later I became very sick, my friends husband took my place. I was told I had to cancel, and then the fees came. $1,150!!! I was told it could take up to three months to receive my balance of deposit. After many calls, emails debating why the fees were charged as somebody was taking my place!!! Qantas cancellation $200, cruise 1st $300, hotel $650 which was a non refundable hotel, but the one hotel in Tokyo was was not go figure!!! A dollar making issue, no empathy, and to top it off, I found the payments $1850 out of $3,000 deposit in my bank account, no text, no email from Cruise 1st,which was over a week ago. My advice, think twice before booking, poor service, they have made money on the fees, EVEN THOUGH there was no problem as someone was taking my place,

Extremely poor customer service

Extremely poor customer service. Once we paid - there was no further response to any emails. Phone calls were left unanswered. For most phone calls we were on hold for close to an hour with no response. The cruise provider kept referring back to the agent for any particular questions - which ended up in a huge mess. I cannot advise enough against booking with them,

Do not touch Cruise 1st with a bargepole.

Fly / cruise to NZ, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, Information supplied at the outset was very poor. Cruise 1st only want to collect your money, and you the customer do the rest with the cruise line / air line etc. I contacted them to let them of the issues I was having and that iIwas very unsatisfied, they couldn't even bother to respond. I gave them a chance after the very first cruise we took to NZ, which also went pearshape but never again.

Booked a cruise that was cancelled because of Covid, Rolled the booking over hoping covid problems would be over. Refunded approx. 20% of deposit, no explanation or statement given. Do not be fooled by their prices. Would never recommend or use again.

We are not happy with Cruise 1st Australia as we were given inaccurate information and empty promises. We were forced to cancel the booking and losing our $800.00 deposit with the Cruise line. We were promised a drink package for 2 which was later removed from the deal (after the deposit was made) and we were booked on the late dinner sitting without our knowledge or approval. Not impressed.

Rude staff and inaccurate information

Over the years I have booked many cruises both in Australia and overseas with Cruise1st but after my telephone call with them today I will never use them again. The woman I spoke to was very rude and condescending and continually spoke over the top of me. She gave me lots of false information and when I told her that the information she had just given me was in complete contrast to an email I had from Cruise1st 4 months previously she said that wasn’t her problem as she hadn’t sent the email.....Really . Never again.

Appalling service

I'm appalled at the lack of customer service of this company. Still waiting on refund from cancelled cruise in April. I understood they would be inundated and waited patiently for the initially advised 12 - 15 weeks then was advised by the cruise company they had refunded our fare in July! This borders on theft, in my opinion. I will never use this company again, even though until now I was a frequent customer.

Not booking with Cruise1st Australia ever again. I know that they have definitively been refunded my deposit by the Cruise line. That happened in September 2020 but am yet to receive my refund from Cruise1st Australia as of today 17 December 2020 and still waiting! They just don't want to refund it and keep delaying with their excuses. DISGRACEFUL!! Over the years I have spent a lot of money through Cruise1st, but after this experience I will not place another booking through your organisation. Plenty of companies out there that would be happy to accept my bookings!

We have booked with Cruise1st three…

We have booked with Cruise1st three times now and while we did get good prices, the service is patchy. It is hard to contact them and sometimes they just don't call back. The main thing to watch it when you book your booking confirmation includes all the inclusions such as OBC and gratuities. Each time we have had to chase this up and have it fixed. They were nice about it, but this is annoying. Also, their booking site can show offers and prices that you can't actually book as the inclusions drop off as you continue to book. I'd really like them to improve their service and efficiency. YMMV

Communication non-existant

I had been booked to go on a cruise to Canada/Alaska and paid the deposit in July 2022. In December I received an email to say the cruise was cancelled - no explanation - and that I could book another cruise on offer or get a refund. They sent the other cruise details but no costing. I requested the costing 3 times- no reply. I then took the option to get a refund - still no reply. I contacted them again in January and finally received confirmation of my cancellation. Later in January they sent an email out relating to a cruise they were offering - exactly the same as the one I had originally booked with the same dates and again with no costing. Also still waiting for my refund that they have now had for 7 months and apparently not likely to see until March. This is an absolute disgrace and if I could give this company a negative rating I would.

Great Staff

We have a package booked for next April where we fly to Miami, spend 2 nights there and then sail back to the U.K. We weren’t happy with the hotel that had been allocated so Farah got us a better hotel. We’ve always been happy with Cruise1st but have never had any issues before. It’s when there is a problem that you see the true worth of a company and Farah certainly went the extra mile to get us something we were happy with. And, she kept us informed and updated regularly. Great experience

UPDATED I agree with many of the reviews about Customer Service being fantastic to deal with when booking and would also add that Cruise1st organise some brilliant land tours/cruises. We have done 2 amazing trips, one to the Rockies and Alaska and most recently a Peru tour including Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca followed by a south America cruise. Both were incredibly easy to book and the Canadian trip went pretty much without a hitch, and other than budget hotels in isolated locations (not all), we had no complaints. We had some communication issues with the South American trip which Cruise1st were slow to sort out and led me to only give a 3 star rating. I have now updated to 4 stars because customer services finally came good and the issues were resolved. Both trips were fantastic, memorable and extremely good value and I will certainly consider using Cruise1st in the future.

I have to say I am beyond disappointed

I have to say I am beyond disappointed with the service we have received over the past few months. The cruise and hotel booking were straight forward however the flight planning has been a disaster . We asked to be upgraded so we were moved to another airline but when I checked the details they had forgotten to arrange uk transfers. So after multiple calls and emails we were moved back to the original airline ,as Virgin was apparently no longer an option and told to contact re upgrade. No further communication took place and we were just moved to AA . However when checked as they had booked AA but flying BA it would cost nearly 5k!! The customer service staff are lovely but it seems their hands are tied and the flight department just book what they like and no apologies for messing up.Perhaps the flight department could communicate with customers to ensure they get the flights they want and are paying for? Absolute chaos for months just hope we get the cruise we have booked as I’m not optimistic .Such a dreadful experience we certainly won’t use again and would not recommend others to either.

A nurse-run clinic at Port Tampa Bay touts itself as the first of its kind

The University of South Florida College of Nursing Port of Tampa Seafarers Center Clinic opened last month to serve maritime workers, including international workers aboard cargo and cruise ships.

A new clinic at Port Tampa Bay is being touted as the first nurse-managed clinic in the world at a port.

The University of South Florida's College of Nursing will provide primary health services to Port Tampa Bay’s maritime community, as well as international workers aboard cargo and cruise ships.

Many of the seafarers come from impoverished countries and are unable to access reliable health care.

Nurse practitioners are staffing the 1,200-square-foot clinic and providing primary care services like routine physicals, vision and hearing screenings, chronic disease management, vaccinations, and more.

In March 2020, under a new Florida law, nurse practitioners were granted the ability to independently practice family medicine, general pediatrics, and general internal medicine.

Duellyn Pandis, director of the USF College of Nursing Port of Tampa Seafarers Center Clinic on Shoreline Avenue in Tampa, said the facility will fill a gap in health care for workers often exposed to dangerous conditions.

“This type of environment, you can imagine that it's set up for accidents to happen. There’s a lot of moving pieces and parts in this industry,” Pandis said.

“[Before the clinic] if accidents were to happen, or they show up sick, or they come to work and then they start feeling bad, they have to leave the restricted area and go at least 40 minutes away to a facility to get evaluated."

While the clinic is not set up for urgent or emergency care, Pandis said nurses there can help stabilize patients until an ambulance arrives.

“We can do a triage and determine if it's something that we can take care of here. And if not, then we'll call EMS, we'll stay with them try to get them stable," Pandis said.

The clinic will also serve as a training site for nursing students.

“Seafarers are the world’s essential workers and they keep our local and regional economy functioning,” Paul Anderson, president and CEO of Port Tampa Bay, said in a news release.

“We are so grateful to the USF Health College of Nursing for their partnership and the resources they bring to these deserving workers.”

The clinic, in partnerhsip with Port Tampa Bay and Tampa Port Ministries/Tampa Seafarers Center, is still accepting applications for two part-time nurse practitioners, and a patient care associate.
