Video Tour of Carnival Cruise Line’s Newest Ship, Carnival Horizon

Ben Souza

Carnival Horizon offers a number of unique innovations, including the first-ever Dr. Seuss WaterWorks aqua park, a new teppanyaki dining venue, and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse Brewhouse, a new BBQ restaurant offering mouth-watering favorites created by Food Network star Guy Fieri along with a four different kinds of craft beer brewed at a brewery on board.

Video Tour of Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Horizon

Carnival Horizon also offers such popular Vista-class features as an IMAX Theatre, a groundbreaking bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction called SkyRide, the tropics-inspired Havana section with colorful staterooms and its own Cuban-themed bar and pool, and Family Harbor with extra-roomy accommodations and the Family Harbor Lounge.

Like its name implies, Carnival Horizon also includes food and beverage outlets offering amazing views with both indoor and al fresco seating options at venues such as Bonsai Sushi, Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and Library Bar.

Carnival Horizon introduced a new stateroom category for the cruise line – aft-view extended balcony cabins located within the exclusive Family Harbor area. Additionally, the cruise ship offers an additional 18 tropics-inspired staterooms within the popular Havana section.

Like the other 86 staterooms within Family Harbor, the new aft-view extended balcony cabins feature a colorful nautical theme and are located adjacent to the Family Harbor Lounge, designed as the ultimate family hangout with large screen TVs and complimentary breakfast and snacks.

Located aft on Deck 6, 8 and 9, the new Havana staterooms feature vibrant interiors reminiscent of the Cuban capital and offer exclusive access to the Havana area which includes its own Cuban-themed bar and pool.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour

Ship Tour Carnival Panorama

Carnival Panorama full ship tour from bottom to top.

Hi Cruisers, We’ve been on Carnival Panorama twice in the past year, and we’ve had lots of opportunities to get to know this beautiful ship. We’ve walked the ship from bottom to top and back to front taking small video clips of most public areas on the ship. We are super happy to share this video with you. If you plan on cruising on Carnival Panorama we think you’ll find this full ship tour to be a terrific resource. If you have any friends or family planning a cruise on Carnival Panorama, please SHARE THIS ARTICLE.

Welcome onboard Carnival Panorama. We’ll show you around, deck by deck, starting on Deck 2 in the Family Harbor. Family Harbor accommodations and suites offer parents and kids room to relax in an exclusive zone.

Carnival Panorama Deck 2

The Family Harbor lounge features a continental breakfast buffet on port days, daily snacks, family activities, a dedicated space for large screen TVs, and computer terminals. Families feel extra pampered with daily snack selections, coffee, and Swirls’ soft serve ice cream.

Check out our Family Harbor suite and lounge video below

Carnival Panorama Deck 3

Up on Deck 3, you’ll find the Vista Restaurant. There’s a wide variety of seating options, from larger parties to intimate dinners for two. Also located on Deck 3, the Horizon dining room is similar in decor and style, and offers some lovely ocean views. The hard working staff in both dining rooms made our cruise extra special.

Guest Services on Carnival Panorama is also located on Deck 3, with a dedicated line for Diamond and Platinum guests toward the left side.

Ship Tour Carnival Panorama Excursion Desk

Nearby, you can learn more about Shore Excursions at the Carnival Adventures Desk during limited hours.

Carnival Panorama Deck 4

Deck 4 is a busy place, starting with the Limelight Lounge located toward the back of the ship. This popular spot hosts seminars, private events by day, comedy and karaoke by night. It also serves as the ship’s nightclub and features its own bar.

Panorama’s Carnival Kitchen offers a cooking show-type setup, and is also temporarily doubling as the ship’s venue for the Chef’s Table. You can book hands-on cooking classes here, which vary by sailing. Pasta & pizza making, sushi classes, cupcake classes, and tailgate party menus are just a few of the available options.

Nearby, the Heroes Tribute Bar, a new concept on Carnival Panorama – offers sports bar vibes and an awesome drink menu with a portion of proceeds supporting Carnival’s partner, Operation Homefront. Be sure to stop by to check out the memorabilia, and order one of the signature cocktails, like the Green Beret, Shore Leave or Blue Angel. This spot gives us all the feels, and we think you’ll agree.

Next up is Carnival Panorama’s casino. With a modern design, ample slots & table games, this is an extremely popular venue on Panorama.

Spanning several decks, the Panorama Atrium is a hub for live entertainment, shopping & gathering with friends old & new. The bar provides a stunning focal point for the giant LED Dreamscape, which is constantly changing throughout the day, throughout the cruise, and through all the seasons.  The Atrium Bar and surrounding seating are a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the sights and sounds.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour Atrium Bar

Forward on Deck 4 is the Liquid Lounge, Panorama’s main theater. There’s a dedicated bar here, convenient drink holders built right into the seats, and plenty of options for seating on either level. Just be sure to watch for the poles which can obstruct the view in some spots.

Carnival Panorama Deck 5

Up one level on Deck 5 aft, you’ll encounter the vintage themed Havana Bar. It offers Cuban coffee, Cuban cocktails and music and dancing well into the night. Just outside the bar, you’ll find the Havana pool area. While the Havana Bar is open to all guests on Panorama, The Havana pool is for the exclusive use of guests in the Havana area and grand suites. This area features two large hot tubs, an infinity pool, and a relaxation area.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour Havana Pool

Moving forward on Deck 5, the Ocean Plaza bar offers an indoor/outdoor space. There’s lots of cozy seating available, as well as a stage for entertainment and activities. Tucked in the back corner, you’ll find a breakfast buffet that many cruisers don’t know about until well into their cruise. Just past Ocean Plaza, Java Blue Cafe and Shake Spot share space with the internet cafe. Here you can buy coffee, espresso and tea drinks and gourmet pastries.

Just down the way, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse offers a full bar, and upcharge dinner options. Be sure to check out the complimentary lunch options here on embarkation and sea days too. The Barbecue and sides are hearty and delicious and served with a smile.

Pixels Gallery offers digital viewing stations to review and purchase photos as well as accessories for purchase during certain hours.

Alchemy Bar, a Carnival favorite, serves as one of the hottest gathering spots on Deck 5. Watch for drink specials and special events like martini tastings in your Carnival Hub app.

Fahrenheit 555, Panorama’s steakhouse serves up traditional steakhouse fare in an upscale but cozy atmosphere. Don’t miss their specialty cocktails, and if you’re lucky, a free bottle of wine for reserving here on night one. The steakhouse has its own bar, and a comprehensive wine list.

Across the way, Bonsai Sushi offers a la carte sushi and Japanese food with excellent service. You can sit at the sushi bar, or opt for a table in the main restaurant. In our experience, portions here are big, so heed the advice of the staff when it comes to making your ordering decisions.

Opposite Bonsai Sushi, Bonsai Teppanyaki serves up hibachi meals for an upcharge, at lunch and dinner. Again, the portions here are sizable, so come hungry and don’t miss the dessert.

Piano Bar 88 hosts singalongs in an intimate environment, with lots of cozy seating and it’s own bar. Get here early as the place fills up during the evenings.

The Library Bar isn’t really a bar, but it is well, a library. With lots of  books to choose from and ample seating, this space tends to be under used. It’s a great place to get some work done in a quiet setting if you must, and an even better place to read or play a board game.

Moving on to Carnival Panorama’s sweet spot, Cherry On Top offers bulk candy, stuffed animals and other gifts, and a rotating supply of gift items.

Carnival Panorama Deck 6

Up on Deck 6, the Warehouse Arcade is surprisingly large, and, for a fee, has a variety of games. Some of the games yield tickets that you can redeem for prizes. Kids and teens will find hours of fun here with classics like skee ball and the milk jug toss.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour Warehouse Arcade

Club 02, the teen center onboard for kids aged 15-17 has a cool motif, and plenty of space to hang out. Circle C, for ages 12-14 was closed on our voyage, but here’s a look at the entrance.

Carnival Panorama Deck 7 & 8

The Sky Zone, Panorama’s trampoline park is located just upstairs from the arcade and teen zones, and offers jump sessions for a fee both day and night. There’s lockers to store your stuff, and merchandise for sale too.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour Sky Zone

Carnival Panorama Deck 10 – Lido

Ready to take around Deck 10, Panorama’s Lido deck? We’ll start aft with the tides bar, which is directly adjacent to the Tides pool. There are two hot tubs surrounding the pool as well. This is a great gathering spot all throughout the cruise, and offers stunning wake views. Nearby, the Seafood Shack offers upcharge items like lobster rolls, clam chowder, lobster bits and fish and chips, just to name a few of the menu items.

Opposite the Seafood Shack, the other side of the Tides Bar, Pizzeria del Capitano offers 5 pizza varieties and some sheltered seating. From here you can enter the Lido Marketplace, Panorama’s buffet restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here and you’ll find typical items like a carving station, hot food, and salad and dessert bars.

On the main pool deck, Guy’s Burgers serves up juicy favorites to grab and go. You can customize your burger at the toppings bar and choose from a variety of sauces too. Opposite Guy’s, Blue Iguana offers burritos, tacos and a killer salsa bar. The best kept secret though is that they serve breakfast here. Huevos Rancheros and breakfast burritos made to order are a Panorama fave.

Carnival Panorama Menus Guys Burger Joint

Just off the beach pool, you’ll find the Red Frog rum bar on one side, and Blue Iguana cantina on the other. Watch for those specials and get to know the bartenders here. They are awesome!

Carnival Panorama Deck 11

Deck 11, just upstairs from the buffet holds two specialty upcharge restaurants. The first is Cucina del Capitano for classic Italian fare and reasonable prices. We loved the Nonna’s Meatball, shrimp pappardelle and for dessert, the apple crostata, but everything was excellent.

Next is JiJi Asian Kitchen which serves a variety of dishes from across Asia. Some of our favorites were the potstickers to start, Hakka-style noodles for an entree, and rose creme brûlée for dessert. You won’t leave hungry.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour JiJi

Don’t miss Cucina and JiJi on your cruise as they are well worth the surcharge.

Oh, and a tip for you, both Cucina and JiJi serve complimentary lunch at both venues. The menu is limited, but it’s a great place to mix it up a bit if you get tired of the buffet.

Carnival Panorama Deck 12

Up on Deck 12, you’ll find the sports square. This spot kept us busy for hours and works really well on both sea days and port days. The Clubhouse is an indoor, air conditioned space that offers foosball, ping pong, and our favorite, life sized billiards, called Sky Billiards. We love it here, and the AC is welcome on warm port days in Mexico. Once you’ve cooled off, head outside for a game of pool or mini golf, and enjoy the gorgeous views.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship Tour Clubhouse Sky Billiards

There’s also an enclosed basketball court which was popular on our cruises, as well as some outdoor exercise machines which didn’t get much use, but were pretty cool.

Now for the fun stuff, Carnival Waterworks. First up, the waterslides! Red Fun and Blue Fun offer two different experiences with Red Fun being a raft slide. Here’s a look at the height and weight requirements.

Moving forward, we’ll take a look at the Cloud 9 spa and thermal suite. You can buy passes to the thermal suite, or book a Cloud 9 spa cabin which includes week-long access to this area, among other perks. The fitness center is attached to the spa area, and has group fitness classes,  cardio equipment, with a view, a good selection of weight machines and free weights. You can work out here for free, but classes will cost extra.

Carnival Panorama Deck 14

For an outdoor workout, head up to SkyRide and the Ropes Course. You can race your cruising companion around this thrilling course, and the views are spectacular. The Ropes Course is challenging and a great adrenaline rush in a few places, but you can take your time and complete the course at your own pace. As you’ll see in the video, the views up here are unbeatable and we love that these activities are complimentary on Panorama.

Carnival Panorama Full Ship-Tour Clubhouse Sky Course

Carnival Panorama Deck 15

The Serenity adults only retreat on Panorama is large, and spans both sides of the ship forward on Deck 15. There’s lots of cozy seating, including shaded clamshells for sunbathing or a nap. There are hot tubs on both sides of the Serenity area, as well as a dedicated bar, with a special drink menu. There’s also a salad bar available during limited hours.

Enjoy your Carnival cruise, and until next time, we’ll see you on the high seas.

Carnival Breeze Cruise Ship Tour [VIDEO]

Picture of Richard Simms

Richard Simms

  • April 23, 2020

The Carnival Breeze may not be the newest ship in the fleet, but this video tour will show you exactly what she’s still popular among many Carnival cruisers.

HURRICANE

Welcome Aboard The Carnival Breeze

Whether you’re checking out the video below because you’re thinking of booking a sailing on the Breeze , or maybe you’re reliving memories of a past trip. In either case, we’re sure you’ll enjoy strolling the decks and checking out all the hot spots and cool hangouts the ship has to offer.

This ship was launched back in 2012 as the third member of the Dream-class. She followed on the very successful heels of the Carnival Dream (launched in 2009) and Carnival Magic (launched in 2011).

Interestingly the Costa Diadema was considered the fourth member of this class, despite sailing under the Costa Cruises flag, since both lines fall under the larger Carnival Corporation umbrella.

At the time, the Dream was the largest passenger vessel ever to have been built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. For comparison’s sake, the Dream ‘s 130,000 tons seems downright svelte when compared to the estimated 180,000 tons the fleet’s upcoming Mardi Gras will weigh in at.

Cost-wise there’s quite a difference as well, with the Dream ‘s tab coming to around $750 million, while the Mardi Gras ‘ final cost is expected to be in the range of $1.1 to $1.5 billion.

What To Look For On Your Video Tour

CarnBreezeGuys

Before you press play and start your guided tour, let us point out a few things to keep your eyes peeled for. For example, make sure to take in the gorgeous, old-school lobby, complete with those glass elevators that look like something right out of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

You’ll notice that unlike, say, the Carnival Sunrise , the atrium’s bandstand is on top of the bar, as opposed to behind it. This creates an odd, almost covered area directly beneath, and the corresponding section of the bar is actually free of stools. In other words, if you plan on sitting at the bar, make sure to get there early and snag one of the stools to either side.

MORE: View Carnival Breeze Deck Plans

Also, make sure to listen closely when Doug — aka your tour guide — ventures into the Ovation theater.

He’ll offer up some good tips about seating in general and, more specifically, which sections to avoid. If you’re a detail-oriented person, you might notice some of the little design changes that vary from ship to ship.

For example, while the Breeze ’s Alchemy Bar serves the same amazing cocktails you’ll find on ships around the fleet, you’ll note that here, the bar itself is not the oval shape that more recent incarnations of this venue have adapted.

carnival cruise line

As always, Doug offers up helpful tips on everything from when to hit Guy’s Pig & Anchor if you want to avoid crowds to which of the three decks overlooking the pool offers the most shade.

With that, it seems as if your boarding pass is in order, so please watch your step on the gangway, hit play below and enjoy your guided tour of the Carnival Breeze.

FAMILY CRUISES ON CARNIVAL

Find out why Carnival is the best cruise line for families in 2024 and beyond.

MORE FAMILY MEANS MORE FUN ON YOUR FAMILY’S CARNIVAL CRUISE

Everybody finds it all here.

carnival cruise tour videos

We keep everybody busy — and nobody bored — all cruise long.

Families like yours bring the fun spirit to a Carnival cruise… but give us a little credit too! Carnival makes sure everybody finds the fun they’re looking for on their vacation, with great activities to enjoy together, or as individuals. For one thing, we’ve got supervised youth spaces where kids can hang out and make new friends. Parents get to do their own thing too… plus there’s great things for families to do all together!

THERE’S BIG FUN IN CARNIVAL’S YOUTH PROGRAMS

What makes Carnival a great choice for kid-friendly cruises? We know that one size doesn’t fit all… but each size fits somebody just right! That’s why Carnival has a range of supervised programs for kids of all age groups, where they can meet up, have fun, enjoy learning experiences and make friends while hanging out with others their own age. From storytime to science, crafts to cultural enrichment, sports to sing-alongs… we help kids and teens get fun done.

  • TURTLES (UNDER 2)
  • CAMP OCEAN PENGUINS (2-5 YEARS)
  • CAMP OCEAN STINGRAYS (6-8 YEARS)
  • CAMP OCEAN SHARKS (9-11 YEARS)
  • CIRCLE "C" (12-14 YEARS)
  • CLUB O2 (15-17 YEARS)

FUN & FLEXIBILITY FOR FAMILIES

Fun happens for everyone on a Carnival cruise, but that doesn’t mean everyone’s idea of fun has to be the same. That’s why variety is key for families, and a Carnival cruise has fun for kids, teens and adults… plus the flexibility to either enjoy things together or do your own thing for a bit. That just might be along the lines of waterslides, mini-golf, live entertainment, or fun and enriching experiences from partners like Dr. Seuss, Zumbini and even the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

  • ROPES COURSE
  • DIVE-IN MOVIES
  • VIDEO ARCADE
  • BOLT: ULTIMATE SEA COASTER
  • SPORTSQUARE
  • FAMILY FEUD LIVE
  • SEUSS AT SEA
  • BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP AT SEA

OH… PARENTS TOO, OF COURSE!

What goes into the perfect date night? Great drinks, dancing under the stars, a stage show… and this wouldn’t be the best family cruise without the one thing parents need most: dependable childcare! A Carnival cruise takes care of the essentials so you can — day or night — explore, enjoy and indulge in great ways to put the “you two” in “family vacation.”

ENJOY FAMILY DINING AND KID-FRIENDLY FOOD

carnival cruise tour videos

“YUM, THAT’S MY FAVORITE!” –LITERALLY EVERYONE ON CARNIVAL

How can we be so sure you’re going to love the food on your Carnival cruise? Because there’s such amazing variety, from casual munching to sit-down dining, fancy stuff and beyond. Some examples: steakhouse, sushi, family-style Italian, tacos, burgers and more. We serve up so much variety that even the pickiest eaters can find new favorites at every restaurant, and tons of great options are included in your cruise fare! Plus the food is as flexible as you are hungry. Room service is always on the menu, 24 hours a day, and delivery is just a quick call away. Also very much available: the pizza station stays open until 4 a.m. — just in case you show up! — and our soft-serve machines don’t quit until the clock strikes midnight.

EXPLORE NEW PLACES AS A FAMILY

There are great destinations all over the globe, and a Carnival cruise can take you to spots with just the sights and vibes you’re looking for. And because we’re Carnival, you know we’re ready to help you find the most fun stuff to do in each!

carnival cruise tour videos

CARIBBEAN & THE BAHAMAS CRUISES

Carnival is known for taking families to islands across the Caribbean and The Bahamas. That sounds to us like fun in the sun! And who — young or grown — would say no to a vacation of beaches, calypso music and swimming with dolphins? Could anyone pass up catamaran sailings, glass-bottom boat tours, exploring islands by Jeep or ATV… not to mention the chance to paddleboard, jet-ski or kayak? We’re honestly not sure… because we haven’t met them yet!

MEXICO CRUISES

Mexico is a family destination with two different destinations in it: the islandy east coast that shows off the Gulf, and the Pacific coast with its stunning desert style. Some of the best ways to see them would be, let’s see, on the east coast… exploring ancient ruins on land or gazing at spectacular undersea life through a snorkel mask. And on the west coast, try surveying the scene on horseback, flying down a zipline, or doing some whale watching with the best scenery.

ALASKA CRUISES

Alaska isn’t cold in the summer months… but it’s definitely still cool! Chill while taking in views of wildlife, mountains, glaciers, history and more — this is the perfect way to open young eyes to some of the world’s most stunning natural beauty. But don’t just look at it, get into the action with dogsledding, gold panning, a scenic railroad ride and more!

ROOMS DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES

carnival cruise tour videos

Whether you keep it cozy or let the kids have their own space, Carnival has stateroom options practically designed for your family! Some staterooms sleep up to five, and feature flexible bedding configurations. Some rooms come with a view, some with balconies, and some even have an extra half-bathroom — nice! And some connect to the room next-door, for the greatest family flexibility. And we can’t leave out the Family Harbor staterooms on select ships, which add nautical decor and fam-favorite exclusive perks like access to a families-only lounge, kids eating free at most specialty restaurants and more.

GREAT IDEAS FOR WHEN TO CRUISE

Cruise during the summer.

Planning a summer cruise is nice and easy, because with the kids out of school there’s plenty of space to fit a vacation into your calendar. (And for the kids… we know it’s not a competition, but get ready to totally win at “how I spent my summer vacation.”)

CRUISE FOR SPRING BREAK

When you see an opening on your calendar that looks perfect for a week off when the weather’s just right… grab it! Kids can head back to school refreshed and ready to wind down the school year.

SHORT CRUISES ANYTIME

Nobody needs a reason for a quick vacation — think along the lines of a long weekend or so — and just go. But if you want a great reason: it’s how easy short cruises are to plan! You’ll be back home with your new memories before you know it.

CELEBRATE A HOLIDAY AT SEA

Spending a holiday like Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving or New Year’s on a Carnival cruise doesn’t just make it unforgettable, it makes it easy: we do the cooking, we do the cleaning, we do the entertaining. So why not bring everybody?

10 Best Cruise Lines for Teens (2024)

I f you’re planning a family vacation, you’re probably considering a cruise. After all, their all-inclusive options and kid-friendly environments make it an easy way to enjoy a getaway. But what about the teens in your group? Today we’re talking all about the best cruise lines for teens so that you can plan a vacation the whole family is sure to enjoy.

Best Cruise Lines for Teens They Are Sure to Love!

Teens can have an absolutely fantastic time on cruises, but you’ll need to make sure you’re booking ones with plenty of fun activities for them. It’s a tricky balance for many teens, since they’ll be repelled by overly cheesy programs but possibly bored with the adults-centered offerings.

However, the right ones can be a teen’s paradise, granting them a safe way to explore independently while getting in just enough quality time with the rest of the family.

That’s why we’ve gathered the best cruise lines for teens. Read on to discover our top picks that are perfect for your entire family.

1. Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean is one of the most famous cruise lines, and it’s known for having some of the biggest and most intricate ships out there. But what will your teen think of their time at sea with Royal Caribbean Cruises?

Let’s start with its most notable feature: the water slides. Royal Caribbean ships have thrilling water slides and pools that most teens will love. Plus, there is a special teen club that is separated by small age groups. Older teens and preteens will have daily activities catered just for them.

In the Teen Club, they can participate in dance parties, scavenger hunts, and video games. Who knows? They may even make new friends.

But Royal Caribbean’s newest ship is what will really wow your teen. Icon of the Seas just launched last month with the largest waterpark at sea and the first suspended infinity pool at sea.

Daring teens can try the freefalling water slide at Thrill Island, or the entire family can enjoy a show in their massive AquaTheater. This is the largest cruise ship in the world, so kids of all ages will be impressed by its size and activities.

Royal Caribbean offers destination itineraries around the world. It’s the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

2. Disney

Disney often gets the reputation for being for younger children (and infamous “Disney Adults”), but Disney Cruise Line is one of our top picks for teens.

“Vibe” is our number-one reason for loving Disney cruises so much. This lounge is exclusively for ages 14-17 and is staffed with great counselors who run a range of relaxed and engaging activities. Here you’ll find huge video screens, a private pool, foosball tables, and a smoothie bar.

The Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Magic ships all have teen spas on board, which is one of the most unique things we’ve seen on family vacations.

Your teen will enjoy their independence on board the Disney Cruise, but you can all come back together in the evening to enjoy dinner and all-ages entertainment. Disney knows how to create engaging productions, so the nightly live shows are be a real treat.

Off-ship, you can enjoy tropical activities like snorkeling as a family or send them off to the teen camp where counselors will show them the best of your destination.

3. Norwegian

Norwegian is another great cruise line with teen-centric activities. These group programs will entertain your teens all day while you enjoy blissful relaxation (you earned it!).

Select ships feature laser tag courses, escape rooms, go-kart tracks, and teen lounges. Many of these activities come at an extra cost, so you can do a little number-crunching to see how they compare with more all-inclusive ships. Even at a higher price, your family may find that the Norwegian experience is a perfect vacation.

The teen lounge is super relaxed and allows older children to come and go as they please. For fun-in-the-sun, the Norwegian Bliss ship has multiple waterslides, a water obstacle course, and rows of lounge chairs.

One of our favorite things about Norwegian Cruise Line is their Broadway-caliber productions that are pitch-perfect entertainment for teens.

4. UnCruise

Have you ever heard of UnCruise? This line of small cruise ships feels like a hidden gem amid a sea of mega vessels. Depending on the season, you can sail various routes in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Pacific, including a great Alaska Cruise that teens will love.

UnCruise ships hold anywhere from 20 to 85 passengers, so this is a huge difference from the other options on our best cruise lines for teens list. And the ships’ smaller sizes mean they can access places others can’t.

It also means you’ll actually spend a lot of time with your teen during your cruise. Guided adventures are perfect for families with older kids. Kayaking excursions, hikes, and snorkeling are just some of the things you can look forward to.

Meals are inventive and thoughtful, time on board is relaxed, and the sightseeing is unbeatable. You can learn more about  UnCruise adventure cruises here . Although they don’t have the non-stop teen clubs and wild water parks of other cruises, the one-of-a-kind experience will become a core memory for you and your teen.

UnCruise is also one of the best cruises for college-age kids, as their bespoke experiences are perfect for young adults.

5. Carnival

Carnival Cruise Line draws a lot of budget travelers who want a fun family vacation. But they’re not just known for their (relatively) lower costs. Carnival ships offers a party atmosphere that’s perfect for teens.

Probably their best ship for teens is the Carnival Mardis Gras, which has a rollercoaster. If that alone isn’t enough to get your teens “on board,” how about a huge arcade, loads of food, and (on select ships) a trampoline park?

Nightly entertainment is more of your standard cruise-ship fare, but it’s well done and should be engaging for the entire family. Routes can take you through the Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, or international destinations.

And with regular sales and various booking options, you’ll be able to find a cruise that fits your wallet and your family’s vacation style.

6. Celebrity

Celebrity Cruise Line most often caters to an older crowd, but it’s still a lot of fun for teens – especially if you’re looking for a nice balance between family time and at-sea thrills.

On Celebrity ships, teens get an all-star treatment with pool parties, an exclusive lounge, and game tournaments. When it’s time to come together as a family, you’ll be treated to great food and top-notch service.

Celibrity’s spa menu has special services for 13-17 year olds, plus side-by-side treatments for a parent-kid spa day.

We also like how Celebrity offers immersive sightseeing programs at their destinations. Your entire family can join small group walking tours through Europe, treetop expeditions in Costa Rica, and wildlife viewing in remote locales.

7. Princess Cruises

With fewer high-octane thrills, Princess Cruises are ideal for simple pleasures. We’re thinking pool-side lounging, great dining options, classic group games, and sports activities.

But this is the perfect place for teens who may not be into giant water slides and over-the-top amenities. Many ships have a “Rock the Boat” party, video game tournaments, movies, and even dance classes.

If your family is seeking bigger thrills, their newest ship, Sun Princess , has a  hang-gliding experience, an obstacle course, and a glistening new teens lounge with a dance floor and video games.

We also recommend Princess Cruises if you are planning group travel with older family members . There are plenty of places to find peace and quiet, lounge with a good book, or sit back and watch the kids play.

8. MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises are a great budget-friendly option for family travel, as they offer great sales where kids cruise for free.

But it’s not a “cheap” experience. Sure, it’s not as flashy as the huge vessels with waterparks and roller coasters, but family members of all ages will have a great time on MSC Cruise Ships. There are pools, fantastic food, family entertainment, and themed decor.

MSC departs from Miami and New York, and they offer fun destinations like the Mediterranean and Bahamas. Their short cruises are an excellent option for families who want fun at sea but are short on time.

9. Lindblad Expeditions

True adventurers will love Lindblad Expeditions , which partners with National Geographic to offer immersive, nature-centered excursions the entire family will love. With fewer than 200 passengers on board, these cruises are super personal and hands-on.

Teens can become National Geographic Global Explorers at some of the most awe-inspiring destinations, like Alaska and the Galapagos. Field educators will guide you through the expeditions and even offer photography courses for future Nat Geo photographers.

You won’t find your typical cruise ship on-board entertainment, and your teen may miss constant wi-fi access. However, there is complimentary Starlink-enabled wi-fi available for all guests as well as internet packages available for purchase (with the exception of the Delfin II ship).

We think the complimentary wi-fi will cover their basic needs, but once they’re immersed in these incredible locations, they’ll soon forget their phones even exist. Plus, you and your teen can thoroughly enjoy all of the outdoor activities, so it’s great for family bonding.

10. AmaWaterways & Adventures by Disney

If you love Disney’s unique experiences but want a more authentic on-the-ground vacation, then their partnership with AmaWaterways will be perfect.

Adventures by Disney offers various river cruises through Europe – a great option for families wanting to see Europe in comfort while knowing the little details are all taken care of.

Adventure guides will take you on off-ship excursions, like farm tours, ziplining, castle tours, and bike excursions. Or, opt for one of their winter cruises that include stops at Europe’s famous Christmas Markets .

The ship will sail by night, giving you and your family a sufficient amount of time to explore various destinations. It’s great family bonding, but your teen can still have some independence on board as they enjoy karaoke, movie nights, and exclusive dinners for young guests. All of this is done with a touch of Disney magic that is perfect for families.

The post 10 Best Cruise Lines for Teens (2024) appeared first on Kids Are A Trip™ .

Don't know which cruise is best for teens? We have the answers! Here are the best cruises for teens that they are sure to love!

Thinking of booking a cruise? Here are the lines you should — and shouldn't — sail with.

  • Before you book a cruise , it's important to understand that not all cruise lines are equal.
  • Each cruise line has amenities, entertainment, and experiences tailored to specific cruisers.
  • Carnival is good for families, Virgin Voyages for solo adults, and Cunard for mature travelers.

Insider Today

I am a very, very avid cruiser. Last year alone, I spent 73 days on cruise ships .

I've sailed with most major lines, from kid-focused Disney Cruise Line to the sometimes-naughty Virgin Voyages. When people ask me which cruise ships I recommend , my answer isn't so straightforward.

Each cruise line is unique, offering amenities, entertainment, and experiences tailored to specific cruisers. What you book will depend on your needs, wants, budget, and what you'd rather avoid.

So, I've done some research about popular cruise lines and combined my personal experiences to help you decide which cruise line to book with.

After all, this is kind of the year of the cruise , with travelers predicted to set sail at some of the highest rates in years throughout 2024.

Here's what you need to know about some of the major cruise lines before you book your next trip.

Editor's Note: Price ranges were calculated at the time of publication based on available listings on each cruise site. Cruise pricing is per person, based on double occupancy and the cheapest stateroom/fare available. Prices were calculated before taxes, port charges, and other fees. Itineraries with added tours built-in were not included when calculating this information.

Carnival Cruise Line

Cost: $ | Prices range from $156/pp for a two-day getaway from Sydney to $3,273/pp for a 10-day Alaska cruise

Ideal for: Budget travelers, intergenerational groups, families, and partiers

Skip if: You're looking for a high-class, elegant experience or a quiet, laid-back vibe

Highlight: All Carnival cruises come with itineraries loaded with fun activities. Some ships have especially exciting features like the first roller coaster at sea, SkyRide zip-line-style aerial bikes, and themed parties.

Possible cons: This is not a cruise line for those who like to wear a tux or ball gown or have a quiet cruise experience.

Launched in 1972, Carnival Cruise Line is one of nine cruise lines owned by parent company Carnival Corporation & plc. It's the company's largest cruise line, with 27 ships. Its cruises typically range from two days to 29 days.

Carnival Cruise Line offers year-round cruises in Australia, The Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Mexico and seasonal cruises in Alaska , Bermuda, Canada, Europe, Hawaii, and New England.

Celebrity Cruises

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$ | Prices range from $233/pp for a three-night Key West & Bahamas cruise to $6,912/pp for a 7-night Galapagos cruise

Ideal for: Couples, families, and solo travelers

Skip if: You're looking for a slower-paced classic cruise

Highlight: All Celebrity Cruises come with amazing outdoor spaces like The Lawn Club with real grass on the top deck of Solstice Series ships and the Rooftop Terrace on Millennium Series ships. You also won't want to miss the Magic Carpet , which allows guests to hang out while suspended above the ocean on some ships.

Possible cons: This is not a cruise line for those who want to attend lectures about their ports of call.

Celebrity Cruises began sailing in 1997. There are 16 ships, which sail on itineraries ranging from three to 19 nights to nearly 300 ports of call in 70 countries.

Cost: $$$ | Prices range from $249/pp for a two-night cruise from Southampton, England to Hamburg, Germany, to $19,158/pp for a 111-night World Voyage

Ideal for: Sophisticated travelers and mature cruisers

Skip if: You're looking for a high-energy cruise, hoping to travel with children , or craving adventurous activities

Highlight: All Cunard cruises come with white-glove service. You won't want to miss Cunard's famous 3:30 p.m. afternoon tea, gala evenings, and fine dining arranged by stateroom grade.

Possible cons: This is a very formal cruise with strict dress codes. You won't find water slides or pool parties here.

Founded in 1840, Cunard offers a classic cruise experience with cruises ranging from two to 116 nights.

Its four ships sail to Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Disney Cruise Line

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$$ | Prices range from $422.40/pp for a two-night cruise from Sydney to Brisbane, Australia, to $5,592/pp for a 12-night Mediterranean with Greek Isles cruise

Ideal for: Disney adults , families, and intergenerational groups

Skip if: You don't want to vacation around a bunch of children and you crave peace and quiet

Highlight: All Disney Cruise Line cruises come with heaps of Disney magic in the way of special events and details. You won't want to miss character meet and greets, pirate-themed parties with fireworks, and passengers trading pins and leaving treats inside decorative pouches hung on stateroom doors.

Possible cons: There is a significant child population on most of these cruises and not much adults-only entertainment. Dinners in the main dining can get loud, and, just like at the theme parks, there can be many queues for activities and other offerings.

Disney Cruise Line first set sail in the 1990s and has five active ships, with the new Disney Treasure set to debut in December. The line has sailings all around the globe, and most range from two to 15 nights.

Holland America Line

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$ | Prices range from $94/pp for a one-day Pacific Northwest cruise to a $27,399/pp for a 132-day Grand Voyage

Ideal for: Music lovers and sophisticated world travelers who appreciate European hospitality and smaller ships

Skip if: You're young, traveling with children, or want to party

Highlight: All Holland America Line cruises come with a dose of Dutch hospitality and elegance. During my cruise with the line, I enjoyed the Dutch cuisine and Music Walk , which features live performances at B.B. King's Blues Club, Rolling Stone Rock Room, and Billboard Onboard.

Possible cons: The line takes its formal nights really seriously and attracts an older crowd.

Holland America Line has had ships sailing the globe for over 140 years. Its 11 ships cruise to more than 425 ports of call on seven continents, and cruises range from one to 118 days.

MSC Cruises

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $ | Prices range from $80/pp for a three-night Mediterranean cruise to $46,149/pp for a 116-night World Cruise

Ideal for: Budget travelers, families, intergenerational groups, big groups

Skip if: You're looking for lots of food options or top-tier entertainment

Highlight: All MSC Cruises offer great value — and good pizza

Possible cons: The cruise fare does not include many dining options, and the evening entertainment skews old-school and a bit more basic than some other cruise lines that do Broadway-worthy shows.

MSC Cruises has 22 ships, with one more projected to join its fleet by 2025. The line has sailings all around the globe, and most range from two to 118 nights.

Norwegian Cruise Line

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$ | Prices range from $79/pp for a one-day Australia cruise to $4,379/pp for a 10-day European cruise

Ideal for: Couples, families, and solo cruisers

Skip if: You're looking for structure, ballroom dancing, and fancy dinners

Highlight: All Norwegian Cruise Line cruises offer freestyle dining. You won't want to miss its Broadway-level shows and generous drink package, which is often offered complimentary.

Possible cons: This is not a cruise line for those who like formal dress codes, and some dislike the à la carte pricing.

Norwegian Cruise Line has been sailing the world for over 57 years. Its 19 ships visit 400-plus ports on seven continents, and cruises typically last one to 25 days.

Princess Cruises

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$ | Prices range from $127/pp for a two-day Australia Seacation to $24,098/pp for a 98-day World Cruise

Ideal for: Mature solo travelers, couples, and retirees

Skip if: You're looking for lots of activities and party vibes. Princess Cruises tend to attract an older crowd, and the shows and activities reflect this. There aren't many events offered each day. On the three cruises I sailed with Princess, the entertainment was primarily musicals, piano players, and singers backed by an orchestra. There were only a handful of children on each cruise.

Highlight: All Princess Cruises offer Discovery and Animal Planet-exclusive shore excursions — and many have an excellent onboard lecture series.

Possible cons: This is not a cruise line for those who like to party, love water slides, or have teenagers.

Founded in 1965, Princess Cruises has 16 ships that sail to 330 destinations worldwide on itineraries from three to 111 days

Royal Caribbean

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$ | Prices range from $196/pp for a two-night Hong Kong cruise to $8,266/pp for a 13-night Arctic Circle cruise

Ideal for: Couples, families, and intergenerational travelers

Highlight: All Royal Caribbean cruises come with fun activities and a broad range of entertainment options. Some have the Ultimate Abyss , the tallest slide at sea, or the glass capsule North Star , the tallest viewing deck on a cruise ship. You won't want to miss the Oasis Class ships' seven distinctly themed neighborhoods and Royal Promenade, a mall-like thoroughfare with shops, restaurants, and lounges that runs the length of the ship.

Possible cons: Many of its ships are mega-ships, so this isn't the line for you if you want a more intimate trip.

Founded in 1968, Royal Caribbean sails to about 240 destinations on six continents. Cruises range from two to 22 nights.

Royal Caribbean has many of the world's largest cruise ships in its fleet of more than 20 vessels.

Virgin Voyages

carnival cruise tour videos

Cost: $$ | Prices range from $415/pp for a four-night roundtrip cruise from England to Amsterdam to a $3,072/pp for a 13-night Canada, Carolina, and Miami cruise

Ideal for: Child-free travelers, health enthusiasts, the glamorous, and those who don't like strict rules

Skip if: You want a classic cruise, need structure, or can't handle playfulness (and, sometimes, naughtiness)

Highlight: All Virgin Voyages are child-free, and everyone gets unlimited WiFi, access to group fitness classes, and gratuities included in their fare. You won't want to miss its famous Scarlet Night, 20 eateries (every venue is considered specialty dining), and eclectic shows like "Untitled DanceShowPartyThing."

Possible cons: There aren't traditional song-and-dance shows, assigned dining times, and nightly portrait photography

Virgin Voyages has been sailing its "Lady Ships" inspired by superyachts since 2021. Three nearly identical ships are currently in service, and a fourth one is set to set sail later this year.

Virgin Voyages sails to about 100 destinations in Australia, Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom on cruises ranging from three to 16 nights.
