Taylor Swift's Eras Tour: All the U.S. and international dates and opening acts

22 eras tour

Taylor Swift opened the Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona — which rebranded itself as "Swift Cit y" for the March 17 and 18 concerts — with a triumphant return to live performance as the first act in the history of that venue to sell out two nights on the same tour.

By that point, she'd already broken the all-time record for most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single day and passed Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour as the highest-grossing tour in history by a female artist.

And Swift rose to the occasion , leading her band through a marathon 44-song set that lasted more than three hours while delivering on her promise of "a journey through all of my musical eras."

So what does she do for an encore? Here's where the Eras Tour is headed next, adding two surprise songs to the set at each show. Here's a look at what she's played so far .

Important information for buying tickets during the TaylorSwiftTix Presale powered by Verified Fan:

Our goal is to maximize the number of fans who have an opportunity to shop.

The link in your text will direct you to the show you were selected for — either a show that was available during registration or a show that was announced after registration closed.

If you were selected for a show available during registration, your code will enable you to shop  that  show  or any show in the same city  that was announced after registration closed. (You will not be able to shop a different show that was available during registration).

If you were selected for a show announced after registration closed — i.e., the link in your text directs you to one of those shows — your code is good for that show. We recommend you use the code for that show as it will have the greatest availability for you. If you choose, you can use your code instead for the show you prioritized first during registration; however, we expect demand for that show to be higher and your wait to be longer.

Remember, each code only allows you to purchase 6 tickets.

How to get tickets to international shows on Taylor Swift’s 'Eras Tour'

The “Shake It Off” singer’s fan base infamously crashed Ticketmaster when they overcrowded the system while trying to buy tickets when they went live on Nov. 15, 2022. Since then, the platform has employed a new ticket purchasing process that has kept crashes at bay — so far.

The new purchasing multistep process first requires preregistration in order to be eligible for presales and regular sales. However, presales and registration are closed for all current international tour dates.

Fans who are interested in attending an international show can try purchasing tickets on reseller sites such as StubHub and SeatGeek.

‘This Is Extraordinary’: Why the Eras Tour Is Taylor Swift’s Greatest Live Triumph Yet

By Rob Sheffield

Rob Sheffield

“Jersey, welcome to the Eras Tour!” Taylor Swift yelled on Friday night. “There is one thing that I daydream about with the childlike enthusiasm of a hundred birthday parties, and that is MetLife Stadium Night 1.” That gets the mood about right. She spent this weekend at her long-awaited MetLife Stadium shows in New Jersey destroying the hearts and lungs of 83,000 of the planet’s most godforsaken messes. All three shows were chaotic jubilation, full of songs we’ve waited years to sing. And Taylor missed this more than any of us.

This weekend I spent three consecutive nights at these shows, singing and weeping and suffering and agonizing through an emotional epic Tay-pocalypse every night. But it feels brutal that it’s over so soon. Nobody wanted it to stop. Not even Taylor, who paused on Sunday night at her piano during “Champagne Problems” to rave, “If you think I’m just coasting along thinking this is normal, I can assure you this is not the case. This is extraordinary.”

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

The communal vibe is always intense at a Swift show, but never more than at this one. I was in the Night 1 parking lot about 10 minutes before someone I’d never met gave me a BETTY’S CARDIGAN friendship bracelet that I’m still wearing right now. I brought extra packs of pocket tissues, which came in handy when the Fearless interlude inspired a few meltdowns in my row Sunday night. When Taylor began the Evermore section into “Tis the Damn Season,” the security guy came over and said, “You the guy with the tissues?” Another couple of fans were having tear-duct emergencies, sobbing to me, “I really love this album!” ONLY at a Taylor show.

See soccer mommy bring out phoebe bridgers for elliott smith cover at l.a. show, ice spice sets summer release date for debut album ‘y2k’ and unveils headlining tour dates.

Over the show, she celebrates every part of her career, except her 2006 country debut, which surprisingly doesn’t even make a token appearance, though she’s done some of the songs as acoustic one-offs. (There’s no other career where such a great debut could turn out to be Not Era Enough.) Some of the eras turned into full-blown dance parties, like 1989 , Reputation , and Midnights . Fearless was the one era where she flashed her early twangy side — she made such a statement by stepping out on the catwalk after the first verse for a triumphant power twirl. It was pandemonium when she introduced “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story” by asking, “Jersey, are you ready to go back to high school with me?”

By the time she got to the Folklore era, it was already a few hours into the show, but her emotional brutality never let up — honestly, the worst thing that she ever did was what she did to us. She sang “The One” on the roof of a mossy cottage — the line that blows up into a real audience screamer is “You meet some woman on the internet and taaaaake her hooome .” She did just the peak of “Illicit Affairs,” the “don’t call me kid” chant — a song about sordid meetings in parking lots hit hard coming an hour after “Fearless,” a very different song about a couple in a parking lot, but maybe the same girl a few years down the line. So many of the songs felt extra cathartic live, since virtually all of us in the crowd learned to sing these songs in a moment of extreme solitude and isolation. She did “Betty,” “Cardigan,” “My Tears Ricochet,” and the unstoppable “August,” pouncing on that final “get in the car!” Also, it wouldn’t be Tay’s style to forget that MetLife Stadium is literally behind a mall .

She slips acoustic surprise songs into the set list every night, one on guitar and one alone with her piano. On Friday night, she did “Getaway Car” (with Jersey boy Jack Antonoff) and “Maroon.” On Saturday, it was a pair of New York love songs, “Holy Ground” and “False God.” But the peaks were Sunday night, when she did a stripped-down “Welcome to New York,” leaning hard on the line that people chose to overlook in 2014 — “You can want who you want/Boys and boys and girls and girls.” Then she did a devastating “Clean” on piano. Her enthusiasm spilled over with quips like “You guys always give 113 per cent” or “You will get a treat for that!” Early on Friday night, she declared, “You guys are historically a great crowd. Do you think that you want to continue that tradition?” When the fans roared, she replied, “I was hoping you would say that. In case you said no, I was going to just ditch this plan completely.”

“All Too Well (Ten Minute Version)” was the coup de grace, filling up the enormous space with the sound of just Taylor and her thousands of confidantes. It couldn’t help but evoke the moment when she sang it the first time she played MetLife Stadium — 10 summers ago, in July 2013. That night, it already seemed incredibly to think of how far she’d come so fast. But 10 ears later, hearing “All Too Well” in that same venue, it seemed to sum up everywhere she’s traveled in those past 10 years. Like the rest of the Eras Tour, it was a celebration of all the holy ground she and her audience has covered.

At one point on Sunday night, during the Midnights finale, I heard voices and thought the security guard near me was arguing with a fan. It turned out they were just trading friendship bracelets. It’s THAT kind of show. That’s the world this woman and only this woman creates, on an epic scale, night after night. There’s no experience in music like being part of that world Taylor Swift creates for a few hours. And there’s no way not to feel joyful about taking it all with you when you leave.

It’s finally happening!

“I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” Taylor wrote in her official tour announcement. “I can’t WAIT to see your gorgeous faces out there. It’s been a long time coming 🥰.”

The announcement comes after Taylor teased a potential tour during her October 24, 2022 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . When Jimmy says she hasn’t toured in four years and that fans want her to, Taylor said “I think I should do it.” And do it, she will.

Here’s everything we know about Taylor Swift’s Eras Stadium Tour, from its setlist to how you can snag tickets and merch. Of course, we’ll keep all the updates coming as Taylor hits the road.

When and where did Taylor Swift’s tour start?

The North American leg of the Eras Stadium Tour kicked off at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on March 17, 2023. The city of Glendale fully embraced the honor of hosting her first Eras concert — in fact, Mayor Jerry P. Weiers of Glendale even declared that the city would temporarily be renamed Swift City for the duration of Taylor's performances on March 17th and 18th.

Mayor Weiers gave the official announcement at a press conference and made sure to incorporate plenty of T. Swift-themed puns, noting that all Swifties are encouraged to share their smiles “that could light up this whole town” on all social media platforms because “the best people in life are free.”

The U.S. Eras tour will end with a grand finale at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California on August 9, 2023.

Which cities is Taylor Swift playing the Eras Tour?

After kicking off the tour in Glendale, Arizona, Taylor hit a ton of different cities in the U.S., from Foxborough, Massachusetts to East Rutherford, New Jersey. She initially shared the official tour dates on November 1, 2022, but she soon added eight more dates due to high demand (!!).

But, eight more shows still wasn’t enough due to increased demand, so Taylor Nation announced that 17 (!!) additional shows were added to the Eras Tour. “She gave us 8 shows last week, honey, but we want ‘em all. Due to unprecedented demand for tickets to #TSTheErasTour , Taylor has added 17 more shows in the US!,” her official fan club wrote.

And then, because Taylor is so good to us, she added one more new show in Los Angeles in the Sofi Stadium for September 7, 2023. See all her official tour dates listed below, including her incredible lineup of supporting acts.

Does Eras have international tour dates?

Yes! In June 2023, Taylor came through on her promise of crossing the pond. After the Latin American leg of the Eras Stadium Tour, Taylor will take the show to Asia, Australia, and Europe, starting February 7, 2024. She’ll begin with four shows in Toyko, and from there, will jet-set to major cities including Melbourne, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, Amsterdam, and London. Check out the full list of international tour dates below.

But Taylor wasn’t done yet. Days after her initial announcement, the artist added one new show in Los Angeles and 8 news shows in the UK and Europe . Then, on July 5, she tossed 14 more European tour dates into the line-up, extending her stay in cities including Paris, Stockholm, Lisbon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Dublin, Amsterdam, Milan, Warsaw, and Vienna. See the complete list below.

Has Taylor Swift made any special announcements during the Eras Stadium Tour?

Taylor went back to her roots for a three-night tour in her hometown of Nashville and kicked off her weekend-long stay by announcing the official release date for her third re-release, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) . (Funny enough, Speak Now was Taylor’s third studio album.) The Grammy winner later took to Instagram to celebrate the album's release.

“It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆),” she wrote. “I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it.”

Taylor also revealed that there will be new music released on the project as well. “With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.”

How much is Taylor Swift expected to earn from the Eras Tour?

Taylor is raking in big coins courtesy of the Eras Stadium Tour. Bloomberg estimates that the Grammy winner could earn more than $10 million each night from ticket sales — but she isn’t the only one reaping the rewards of the tour.

According to the outlet, Eras could generate $5 billion (!) for local economies throughout the U.S., with an economic impact that’s reportedly greater than 50 countries. Bloomberg says a study from QuestionPro found that concertgoers spend an average of $1,327.74 on tickets, outfits and costumes, merchandise, food and drink, and travel combined.

Who are the opening acts for Taylor Swift’s Eras Stadium Tour?

Paramore (!!) has joined the tour. While announcing the 14 added European dates, Taylor shared that the pop-punk band will be her opening act. “I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!!,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “@yelyahwilliams and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???”

Sabrina Carpenter also recently announced that she’ll join Taylor’s Eras tour throughout Latin America. The “emails i can’t send” singer posted the official dates along with a screenshot of a 13-year-old tweet that read, “The Taylor Swift concert was amazing, had so much fun I cant wait to have a world tour someday like hers! lol with 2 sold out shows!!!!!” We’re not crying, you are. 🥹

Sabrina will be the special guest for Taylor’s Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico City performances from August 24 to November 26.

While most of Taylor’s opening acts and special guests are her friends and collaborators, there are also fresh, new artists who are getting their foot in the door with the honor of playing stadiums with Taylor Swift early in their careers. Taylor’s other supporting acts include Paramore, Haim, Pheobe Bridgers, Muna, Beabadoobee, Girl in Red, Gayle, Gracie Abrams, and Owenn.

How can I buy tickets for Taylor Swift's Eras Stadium Tour?

Following the TicketMaster debacle during the Verified Fan and Capital One pre-sales, Taylor’s team worked with the retailer to give Swifties good karma on Monday, December 12, 2022. Per NBC News , fans started receiving emails from TicketMaster that revealed they’d have a second chance at securing tickets to the Eras tour. “You were selected for this opportunity because you have been identified as a fan who received a boost during the Verified Fan presale but did not purchase tickets,” the email read. “We apologize for the difficulties you may have experienced, and have been asked by Taylor’s team to create this additional opportunity for you to purchase tickets.”

According to fans on Twitter, those who had received an official boost for the Verified Fan Pre-Sale but didn’t purchase tickets were granted an opportunity to buy a maximum of two due to high demand. Fans who received the message from TicketMaster received an individual invite to submit their purchase request before Friday, December 23, 2022. The retailer claims that invitations “will be staggered by tour dates in each city.”

For better chances of snagging a ticket, fans were instructed to register for TicketMaster’s Verified Fan program before November 9, 2022 to “ensure tickets get into the hands of fans.” The TicketMaster Verified Fan pre-sale took place on November 15, 2022, and due to unprecedented demand, tons of Swifties grew frustrated with the ticket-selling platform.

TicketMaster issued multiple statements during the chaotic Verified Fan pre-sale, which reportedly included queues of more than 20,000 people for some dates. Because of this “historically unprecedented demand,” the pre-sales scheduled for West Coast shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Santa Clara, and Seattle were postponed to 3 p.m. PST on November 15, 2022 instead of its original time of 10 a.m. PST. TicketMaster also rescheduled the Capital One card member pre-sale to November 16, 2022 at 2 P.M. local venue time.

The ticket retailer included notable updates in the following Tweet:

According to TicketMaster’s official Twitter account, these are the best ticket-buying practices to ensure you secure a spot during the pre-sale.

On November 17, 2022, TicketMaster announced that the general ticket sale, which was scheduled to take place on Friday, November 18, 2022, was canceled due to “extraordinarily high demands.”

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow's public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been canceled,” the company wrote on Twitter. Greg Maffei, the CEO of Liberty Media, the largest shareholder in concert promotion company Live Nation and its ticket-selling platform Ticketmaster, also told CNBC that 14 million people tried to purchase tickets for the tour when pre-sale was launched on Tuesday to 1.5 million verified fans.

SeatGeek’s website also reported that the general sale was canceled on their platform for the same reasons.

According to a report by Variety , ticket prices ranged from $49 up to $449, with VIP packages starting at $199 and going up to $899. Notably, this did not include a meet-and-greet package as Taylor's official fan club, Taylor Nation, tends to scout super fans on social media and in the crowds at shows to meet the star for no additional cost.

While Taylor hasn’t done any official meet and greets for the Eras tour yet, she did keep a sweet promise she made to Arizona teen Isabella McCune. In 2018, Isabella went through a tragic accident that left her hospitalized with burns that covered more than 65 percent of her body. She was only 8 years old at the time, and she couldn't attend Taylor’s Reputation Stadium Tour because of her hospitalization.

Per ABC 15 , Taylor visited her longtime fan at the time and left a note that read, “Isabelle, I hope you feel better soon. I'm so honored you've been listening to my music. You're so awesome and I can't wait to have you at a show. Stay strong, gorgeous. Love, Taylor.”

Now, 13-year-old Isabella had the chance to attend the opening night of Taylor’s Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona. “Not only the fact that I'm able to go and I got these tickets gifted to me, they're from Taylor Swift and her team and they remembered me and thought of me to give me these tickets,” Isabella told the local news affiliate, adding that Taylor's "music helped [her] a lot while I was in the hospital."

Has Taylor Swift addressed the TicketMaster debacle?

The singer-songwriter originally took to her Instagram Stories on November 18, 2022, to air her frustrations and share her disappointment in the ticket-buying process.

“It goes without saying that I'm extremely protective of my fans. We've been doing this for decades together and over the years, I've brought so many elements of my career in house,” Taylor began. “I've done this SPECIFICALLY to improve the quality of my fans' experience by doing it myself with my team who care as much about my fans as I do. It's really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for met to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”

“It's truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them,” she added.

Taylor ended the message in sharing her hopes that there will be future opportunities for her and her fans to be together and “sing these songs.” See Taylor’s full message below.

What is taylor swift’s eras stadium tour setlist.

Taylor’s set is a little longer than her past tours because of all her iconic eras. With 10 (!!) studio albums — four of which haven’t been properly supported on tour — there is a ton of new material for Taylor to explore on stage. On opening night in Glendale, Arizona, the Grammy winner performed 44 songs, which rounded out to about three hours.

Find the full setlist for the tour's opening night below.

“Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” “Cruel Summer” “The Man” “You Need to Calm Down” “Lover” “The Archer” “Fearless “You Belong With Me” “Love Story” “Tis the Damn Season” “Willow” “Marjorie” “Champagne Problems” “Tolerate It” “…Ready for It?” “Delicate” “Don’t Blame Me” “Look What You Made Me Do” “Enchanted” “22” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” “I Knew You Were Trouble” “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” “Invisible String” “Betty” “The Last Great American Dynasty” “August”/ “Illicit Affairs” “My Tears Ricochet” “Cardigan” “Style” “Blank Space” “Shake It Off” “Wildest Dreams” “Bad Blood” Surprise song — subject to change Surprise song — subject to change “Lavender Haze” “Anti-Hero” “Midnight Rain” “Vigilante Sh-t” “Bejeweled” “Mastermind” “Karma”

During her Arlington, Texas show on March 31, Taylor swapped out “Invisible String” — which fans believe is about her former boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn — for a bittersweet breakup track off Folklore , “The 1.” The setlist switch-up came amid Tay’s breakup with the Conversations With Friends actor.

The opening track off her Grammy-winning album, Folklore , includes the following lyrics:

“But we were something, don't you think so? / Roaring 20s, tossing pennies in the pool / And if my wishes came true / It would've been you / In my defense, I have none / For never leaving well enough alone / But it would've been fun / If you would've been the one.” Due to the nature of the lyrics, fans believe the song switch may have hinted at the couple’s split.

What are the surprise songs for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour?

On the first night of the tour, Taylor revealed that she’ll perform not one, but two surprise songs during the acoustic portion of the show.

“The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every single night and never repeat one. Right? So that when you heard one on this tour, you would know it's the only time that I was going to play it in the acoustic set, unless — caveat — unless I mess it up so badly that I have to do it over again in some other city. Send your best wishes towards me that I don't do that,” the singer said, per Billboard .

A Reminder on Why Taylor is Re-Recording Her Music

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has been extended multiple times with new international dates.

Taylor Just Extended Her Eras Tour Again With 2 New Dates

Get those tickets, Swifties!!

Swfities, this is not a drill: Taylor Swift has extended her Eras Tour again . After recently adding an additional show at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, along with a ton of international dates across Europe, Asia, and Australia, the Midnights singer has tagged on even more shows. This was already the singer’s largest tour to date, and it keeps on getting bigger and bigger. With so many stops, this is the opportunity for Swifties everywhere to live out their Eras dreams.

On Aug. 3, Swift announced a mini-U.S. and Canada leg of her tour on Instagram. Specifically, between mid-October and November 2024, the singer will visit cities in Florida, Louisiana, Indiana, and Ontario across 15 dates. “Turns out it’s NOT the end of an era,” she wrote in the post. She also shared that Gracie Abrams, who served as an opener for the tour this summer, will return for these dates.

But it didn’t end there. On Nov. 2, Swift’s team revealed an additional three dates in Vancouver on Dec. 6, 7, and 8. And just a few days later, Swift added two more dates in London on Aug. 19 and 20. These final dates mean the Eras Tour will run until nearly the end of 2024.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has been extended multiple times with new international dates.

These exciting additions follow another round of new dates. On June 27, Swift announced she included a new show at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. This addition (which fell on Aug. 7) extended her once five-night stay at the iconic venue to six. She then added eight more dates for the European leg of the tour, lengthening her appearance in cities such as Warsaw, Munich, London, Vienna, Hamburg, Paris, Stockholm, and Zurich in 2024.

Just a few days later, Swift announced another 14 new dates for the European Eras Tour, extending her weekends in major cities like Paris, London, Dublin, and more to include an extra concert. She also revealed Paramore would be the opening act for these new dates.

Before that, she announced her international roster of Eras show. “EXCUSE ME HI I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY. I can’t wait to see so many of you on The Eras Tour next year at these new international dates!” Swift wrote on Instagram . These new dates will see Swift and new opener, Sabrina Carpenter , trekking through cities such as Tokyo, Melbourne, Paris, and Milan from February to August 2024. As seen in the multi-colored tour poster, this six-month excursion will follow the end of her Latin American leg of the tour, which stars Sabrina Carpenter as the opener. Clearly, Swift’s booked and busy.

Swift first announced her Eras Tour on Good Morning America in November 2022. There, she shared the gig would include music from her entire 10-album discography, including her record-breaking Midnights project.

“I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time. I’ve been planning for ages and I finally get to tell you. I’m going back on tour,” Swift said on Good Morning America last year. “The tour is called The Eras Tour, and it’s a journey through all of my musical eras of my career.”

Since then, the singer has performed hidden and popular gems from all her eras, and released her re-recorded versions of Speak Now on July 7 and 1989 on Oct. 27.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour dates span the whole globe.

Honestly, witnessing every era from Swift in one night sounds like a dream. Check out all the details about her Eras Tour below, including the international dates, ticket information, opening acts, and more.

Getting Tickets To The Eras Tour

It seems Ticketmaster had the tour’s original ticketing fiasco in mind when creating a purchasing process for the new dates. According to Today , the site — which fell in hot water after Swifties infamously crashed their site when trying to buy tickets — adopted a new process that requires fans to pre-register for the tour’s pre- and general sales.

Registration is currently open for the three newest concert dates. Fans can access the registration for selected dates on Ticketmaster or Swift’s official website . This added step reportedly signs fans up to receive additional information about their selected tour date and location.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour to end this December, singer announces

22 eras tour

Sorry Swifties,  Taylor Swift  will not extend her record-breaking, behemoth  Eras Tour  to 2025.

"This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," the singer said sentimentally during her "All Too Well" speech before the 10-minute song.

"This tour has really become my entire life, it's taken over everything, like I think I once had hobbies," she joked in her bedazzled red and black jacket. "All I do when I'm not on stage is sit at home and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear."

Her acoustic section has become a fan-favorite, unique to every city. The singer began mashing up songs in 2024. Swift still has about  30 songs in her vast discography left to perform.

"You have done so much to be with us," she continued. "You've made plans so far in advance. You planned what you were going to wear. You memorized lyrics. You got yourself here. You figured out parking. You figured out transportation, and I want spend the 100th show just thinking about that and living in that moment and being here with you, and just know I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us when this show reaches triple digits in shows. So thank you!"

Taylor Swift's journey: Eras Tour 'spans 18 years of music'

In November 2022, Taylor Swift announced her magnum opus  on social media , "I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!"

The original post only showed 27 concerts over the course of a year. The demand quickly escalated that number to  66 shows for year one  and 86 for year two in 22 countries (U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Australia, Singapore, France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland, Austria and Canada).

With  album announcements , music video reveals, special guests appearances and a  whole new "Tortured Poets" set  unveiled in Paris, France, the tour has continued to evolve and impress. Swift has broken attendance records for many stadiums across the world and countries have welcomed the singer in innovative ways. A hidden language of Swift-ese has developed in the form of friendship bracelets, custom concert chants ("1, 2, 3 let's go b****" and "Where you going Taylor?") and unforgettable dance moves. Tens of thousands of fans log on to watch livestreams every concert night anticipating Swift's outfits and  custom mashups  of songs not included in the massive  46-song set list .

A year of the Eras Tour: A look back at Taylor Swift's record-breaking show

Swift's concert movie  bypassed production studios as the singer worked directly with AMC as a distributor bringing fans dancing and singing in the aisles. The movie is available to  watch on Disney+ .

No word on if she will release a second movie with the newly scrambled show and additional set.

Swift is only a third of the way through her 51 European stops. In the fall, she will come back to North America, heading to Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis in October and November and then Canada. Her last show for 2024 is on Dec. 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

For anyone who hoped that the Eras Tour might get an extension into its third calendar year with added dates in 2025, Taylor Swift has disabused them of that notion, affirming that her global trek really will come to a close with its currently scheduled final dates in North America in December of this year.

Swift made the proclamation while performing the 100th date of the tour on the first night of a weekend engagement in Liverpool on Thursday.

The closest runner-up will remain Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road,” which grossed $939 million over a five-year span.

Swift’s European tour will wrap up Aug. 20 with the second of two runs in London’s Wembley Stadium. From there, she is scheduled to take time off from the road before returning to U.S. stadiums in November for the first time since late 2023, doing shows in just three U.S. cities — Miami, Indianapolis and New Orleans — before the tour concludes in late November and early December with six shows in Toronto and three in Vancouver. The last date is scheduled in the latter Canadian city for Dec. 8.

Taylor Swift

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is the queen of Easter eggs. Since the early days of her career, the superstar has regularly planted clues, hints and callbacks in her music videos, live appearances, interviews and even the liner notes in her albums.

“I love to communicate through Easter eggs,” Swift said in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Weekly to help kick off her Lover era. “I think the best messages are cryptic ones. … You know, when you plan something that far in advance, you’re kind of just flexing on planning. That’s what an Easter egg really does.”

So it should come as no surprise to Swifties that The Eras Tour is no exception to their queen’s masterminded penchant for hyper-specific planning and eye for gorgeous, perfectly plotted detail — all the way down to the colors painted on her nails during tour rehearsals.

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour Outfits: Then and Now

As the U.S. leg of the wildly anticipated tour kicked off, fans at the first two shows in Glendale, Ariz. — and later across the Internet, thanks to #SwiftTok — paid keen attention to each of the singer’s choices onstage. From her costumes to her choreography, and even the songs she included (or didn’t) on the setlist, nearly every detail elicited wild analysis and speculation for what it all could mean.

Below, Billboard rounds up an ongoing list of Easter eggs spotted by fans as The Eras Tour makes its way across America. Read on to discover what hidden messages and surprises many a Swiftie surmises the star could be sending from the stage.

The 'Red (Taylor's Version)' T-Shirt

During the part of the setlist where Taylor revisits her Red era, she dons a T-shirt similar to the one she wears in the music video for 2012’s “22.” In the visual, the shirt spells out “Not a lot going on at the moment,” which would go on to become a famously surefire sign to Swifties around the world that their queen was, indeed, working on a major surprise. (See: the one-two punch of 2020’s Folklore and Evermore .)

However, on the opening night of the tour (March 17), Tay’s shirt rewrote the phrase to read “A lot going on at the moment” in bold block letters, with “A lot” sticking out in bright red. The next night, the shirt changed to a spoken lyric from “22”: “Who’s Taylor Swift anyway? Ew.” This time, “Ew.” was highlighted in red.

One fan on TikTok thought the red words would eventually lead to an anagram spelling out “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).” While the shirts didn’t make it all the way through Speak Now , Swift did, in fact, announce the 2010 third studio album as her next re-recording, out July 7 .

Breaking 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' Out Of Its Box?

Footage of Swift performing Reputation lead single “Look What You Made Me Do” piqued fans’ curiosity as multiple backup singers seeming to represent her many album eras appeared on stage trapped in giant plastic boxes.

Given the rampant online fan speculation that Speak Now would be the next re-recording the star plans to drop, special attention was paid to the backup vocalist in the box wearing a purple halter dress remarkably similar to an outfit Swift wore on her Speak Now World Tour throughout 2011 and 2012. As Taylor approaches her box, the star pounds on the glass along to the beat as the singer inside tries to get out. At first glance, the moment looks innocuously like part of the choreography, but many Swifties surmised that it could represent the pending release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) , which had been entangled in legal red tape over trademark and copyright issues until earlier this week.

Interestingly, most of the other singers-as-album eras are eventually freed from their boxes, but by song’s end, the Speak Now avatar and one other singer representing a mystery era remain stuck inside theirs.

Check out fan-captured video of the moment on TikTok .

Of course, the theory was confirmed May 5, when Swift officially announced Speak Now  (Taylor’s Version)  at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.

'Speak Now' or Later?

Another Speak Now theory came in a reverse Easter egg. So far, her setlist is one for the ages — 44 songs from 10 albums over the course of three hours and fifteen minutes. But out all the fan favorites she performed at Arizona’s State Farm Arena during the first two shows, she included only a single song from 2010’s Speak Now in the form of album cut and originally planned title track “Enchanted.”

The absence of hits such as “Mine,” “Back to December,” “Dear John,” “Mean” and “The Story of Us” felt like a glaring omission, but as with everything Taylor does, the choice may have been entirely intentional. Plenty of fans theorized that the singer was purposely minimizing the attention of her third album because she could be on the precipice of releasing Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) .

The Light-Up Wristband Colors

OK, one more Speak Now Easter Egg for good measure. A week before Swift’s announcement that Taylor’s Version of her third album is on the way, she teased Eras Tour attendees at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium when their light-up wristbands turned purple at the end of the show, a color that represents  Speak Now .

A Manicure for Her 'Eras Era'

One day ahead of the tour, Tay shared a sneak peek at the rehearsal process on social media, coyly writing, “In my Eras era” alongside a carousel of photos from the stage. The last snap in the slideshow, though, showed off the star’s delicate manicure featuring a different shade on each finger representing a separate album era — sparkling gold for Fearless (Taylor’s Version) , shiny teal for 1989 , matte black for Reputation , and so on.

The 'Bejeweled' TikTok Dance

She can make the whole stadium shimmer! During the portion of the setlist dedicated to 2022’s Midnights , fans took notice when Swift broke into the viral “Bejeweled” choreography created by TikTok user Mikael Arellano, strutting across the stage with her dancers before twirling and doing the creator’s “twinkle fingers” move with her hand. Watch Arellano’s giddy reaction to seeing the dance here .

It's safe to say that Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour has well and truly surpassed every single expectation we had. The Eras Tour officially opened its doors in Glendale, Arizona on March 17th where Taylor performed songs from all 10 of her albums.

The average Taylor Swift concert used to be around 2 hours long but The Eras Tour is a whole different beast... The concert is a whopping 3 hours and 15 minutes long, and Taylor performs a huge 45 tracks within that timeframe.

Not all the tracks are performed in full – some are shortened versions. There's also a couple of additional little interludes that pop up throughout the show.

For context, on the Rep tour, Taylor performed 19 tracks in total, including several mashups that featured some of her older songs. For The 1989 World Tour, she performed 18 songs, while 17 songs were performed on The Red Tour and the Speak Now World Tour.

Taylor has 'reset' the surprise song list, which means anyone attending a show in 2024 can anticipate hearing a song she's already performed. She previously stated that she will only play each surprise song once during the tour, unless she messes one up.

There's also no rules for Taylor repeating songs from Midnights as surprise songs, which means fans may get to hear the likes of 'You're On Your Own Kid' and 'Snow on the Beach' again at some point in the future.

We'll update this article with every Surprise Acoustic Song – and every surprise song that she will play again – after every show.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department?

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist?

Aside from a few song changes, the Eras Tour setlist remained the same throughout the 2023 shows and every show up until the release of 'The Tortured Poets Department'. During the first Paris show in May 2024, Taylor changed the order of the setlist, removed six songs and added seven new ones from 'TTPD'.

Fans attending the European shows might end up hearing Taylor perform ' Castles Crumbling ' with Hayley Williams at some point, as Paramore will be supporting her throughout those tour dates. Unlike Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM, who joined Taylor on stage to perform 'Nothing New' and 'No Body, No Crime' respectively on the nights they were support acts, a 'Castles Crumbling' duet might be more likely to appear as a surprise song.

Taylor will finish her European leg in London in August 2024, before returning to North America in November 2024. It's possible that she may make more changes to the final leg of the show.

What are Taylor's most performed songs on tour?

Before she embarked on The Eras Tour, Taylor’s top 3 most performed songs are ‘Love Story’ (491 times), ‘Our Song’ (404 times) and ‘You Belong With Me’ (381 times).

Of course, almost all of Taylor’s most performed songs are from her first two albums. As the list goes on, the 'Speak Now' bops, 'Red' bangers and '1989' hits start to weave their way in.

If you’re wondering what Taylor’s most played songs from her first five albums are, here’s a break down:

  • Taylor Swift : ‘Our Song’, ‘Tim McGraw’ and ‘Picture To Burn’
  • Fearless: ‘Love Story’, ‘You Belong With Me’ and ‘Fifteen’
  • Speak Now : ‘Sparks Fly’, ‘Mean’ and ‘Mine’
  • Red : ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘Red’
  • 1989 : ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Out of the Woods’

Taylor has only had the chance to perform songs from Reputation on the Reputation Stadium Tour so far, but ‘Ready For It?’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ take the top spots when it comes to live performances of the Rep tracks.

Due to the cancellation of Lover Fest, Taylor hasn’t been able to perform Lover on a tour setting. Folklore, Evermore and Midnights will also be making their tour debut on the Eras Tour.

It's the end of an era: Taylor Swift says Eras Tour will end in December

It's the end of an Era(s Tour).

Taylor Swift announced Thursday night during her Eras Tour show in Liverpool, England, that her behemoth concert tour will officially end its unprecedented run in December, presumably after her Dec. 6-8 shows at the BC Palace in Vancouver, British Columbia.

"This is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that's it," Swift said in a speech onstage during the "Red" set.

"That feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour," she continued.

Swift said the Eras Tour has "become my entire life" and "taken over everything," including her hobbies, which have been replaced with sitting at home and trying "to think of clever, like, acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear" during the "surprise song" set of her show.

From the stage, Swift also acknowledged that Thursday's show was the 100th on the Eras Tour ( on June 13, no less ). She called the experience the "most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life, this tour, these moments with you."

The Eras Tour, which started March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, has spanned five continents. When the tour wraps, Swift will have performed 152 shows. The tour has broken records and yielded (a few versions of) a concert tour movie that broke records in its own right .

Thursday's comments were the first time Swift has announced an end date to her beloved Eras Tour, which she had been adding dates to over the last year.

It’s unclear what she will be up to next, but any true Swiftie knows it’s sure to be enchanting.

Swift continues her European run this weekend in Liverpool before a rare Tuesday show in Cardiff, Wales, followed by shows in London next week.

Taylor Swift says Eras Tour will end in December

By Caitlin O'Kane

June 14, 2024 / 10:01 AM EDT / CBS News

It's the end of an era. Taylor Swift's long-running and history-making Eras Tour is coming to an end, the singer announced during a concert in Liverpool on Thursday.

During the show – which was the 100th of the tour – the singer said it was time to admit to herself and everyone that Eras will officially end in December.

"This has definitely been the most exhausting but all-encompassing, most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life, this tour," Swift told the crowd after saying it was blowing her mind that she was marking her 100th concert of the tour.

In videos captured by fans at the show, Swift said the 100th show was the first time she acknowledged to herself that the tour was going to end in December.

The Eras Tour, which includes 45 songs spanning all of Swift's albums, kicked off in March 2023 in Glendale, California. The international leg began in August 2023 with stops in Paris, Tokyo, Australia, and the U.K.

The singer still has more than 50 shows left - some of which were added months after the tour began - with new dates in the U.S. and Canada at the end of the year.

The tour was a major hit with fans – many of whom struggled to snag tickets due to high interest and Ticketmaster issues – and became the first concert tour to gross more than $1 billion, hitting that figure at the end of December 2023, when an estimated 4.35 million tickets sold, according to Pollstar.

Swift even released a movie version of the tour last year for fans who missed it – and those who wanted to relive the magic again. The film earned an estimated $96 million  on its opening weekend. AMC  said  the movie even raked in $100 million in advanced ticket sales, and was the theater chain's highest-selling film in a single day, the company said.

Not only did the film help get people back into struggling movie theaters, but the tour itself is credited with boosting the economy in some cities . The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia said the tour helped boost travel and tourism in the region, and cities like Chicago, Cincinnati, and Tampa Bay reported the same, with tour attendees buying out hotel rooms and filling local restaurants and attractions.

As if it needed it, Swift revitalized the Eras Tour when she released her "The Tortured Poets Department" album in April and began incorporating new songs into the setlist.

Exactly How To Score Taylor Swift’s ’22’ Hat At The Eras Tour

Profile picture of Kirsty Thatcher

Swifti e-mania has reached an all-time high this week, with the Australian leg of Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour officially underway.

While the almost one-year wait for the show to hit Australian shores has, admittedly, been excruciating at times, Australian Swifties have been fortunate to witness the tour take over the US, Latin America, and parts of Asia.

As a result, we’re privy to many of the secret rituals that have become signatures of Eras shows, from mid-song chants to friendship bracelet exchanges and, of course, surprise songs.

But arguably the most exciting portion of the Eras Tour takes place during the performance of ‘22’, when one lucky fan is plucked from the crowd, to be gifted a bowler hat by Taylor Swift herself. We’ve witnessed it happen countless times now (73 to be exact) so, naturally, fans are eager to understand how they can be the ‘22’ recipient at the remaining Australian shows .

For everything you need to know about Taylor Swift ’s ‘22’ hat ritual, keep reading.

Who Has Been Given Taylor Swift’s ‘22’ Hat?

Typically, the ‘22’ hat is given to a young concert-goer. While they certainly don’t have to be famous, the hat has gone to some well-known names, including Bianka Brant, Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s daughter, and Selena Gomez’s younger sister Gracie .

Last week, 20-year-old TikToker Oliver Mills made headlines when he received the hat on night two of Swift’s Melbourne shows.

In a now-viral video posted to Mills’ TikTok account, Swift can be seen kneeling on the stage and handing him the hat, before saying, “I love your videos. You are so funny.”

Remembering the once-in-a-lifetime moment, Mills told U SA Today , “When she walked towards me I thought, ‘You’re a real person and you have love and kindness in your eyes.’”

“For someone that famous to be that personally, individually connected to her fans is impossible. She’s really, really lovely.”

On night two in Sydney, the hat went to Scarlett Oliver, 9, who is currently battling a brain tumour.

scarlett-oliver-taylor-swift

Oliver’s stepmum, Natalie, started a campaign in the lead up to the Sydney show, in the hopes that she would be awarded the coveted 22 hat. “Scarlett is a 9-year-old from Perth, and she was diagnosed in October last year with a high grade glioma — this is a very aggressive brain cancer with no cure,” she wrote on a fan page for Swift.

“The prognosis given to us was 12-18 months from diagnosis. She has been an absolute warrior through surgeries, radiation and other treatments (all done to try and prolong her life).”

She signed off the post, “I just want [Scarlett] to experience everything in life and if anyone deserves a little happiness it’s her. She deserves the world.”

On night three of the Sydney shows, the hat went to five-year-old Lily, who was chosen after she delivered a passionate speech about Taylor Swift at school.

In a now-viral clip posted by Lily’s mum to Faceoobk, she can be heard saying to her classmates: “People ask me all the time what I want to be when I grow up – a doctor? A teacher? But no, I want to be a singer like Taylor Swift.”

How Do You Get Taylor Swift’s ‘22’ Hat?

Unfortunately for us, Mills is keen for the mystery surrounding the ‘22’ hat ritual to remain.

“I love a bit of mystery surrounding Taylor Swift and the love that runs so deep so I’m going to place myself amongst the mystery,” he told USA Today .

There are, however, several theories floating around the internet as to how it all goes down.

“There have been rumours that it’s actually Mama Swift [ Taylor Swi ft’s mum ] who chooses who receives the 22 hat,” Michelle Hillier explained in a TikTok video.

She went on to explain witnessing a little girl be whisked away by security during a show she attended last year.

“About three or four songs in, [a security guard] came into our section and started dancing with us. She wasn’t regular security, she wasn’t dressed like security but you could tell she worked at the stadium. She started dancing with us, and then all of a sudden, she turned to the little girl and said… ‘Come with me.’”

She explained that the little girl (and her guardians) never returned to her original seat, and that she looked “exactly” like the girl who received the ‘22’ hat later in the concert.

If this theory is correct, then the only thing you can do to increase your chances of receiving the hat is dance your heart out and genuinely enjoy the concert. An easy task, if you ask us.

The Story Behind The '22' Hat In Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Concert Film, And Why It Unexpectedly Made Me Cry

T aylor Swift’s hit song “22” from Red (Taylor’s Version) is maybe the most joyful track on the album. It’s literally the last song that will make you cry. However, when I went to see The Eras Tour concert film , of all the moments in the show, it was during this upbeat song that I started to well up. The reason for it has to do with the story behind the “22” hat and the special person she gave it to at one of the concerts they filmed for this project in Los Angeles.

Who Taylor Swift Gave Her '22' Hat To In The Eras Tour Concert Film

Along with Taylor Swift changing up her surprise songs for every concert, she also gives her “22” black hat to a different fan every night. Going into the film, one of the questions I had about the Eras Tour we’d see on the big screen was regarding who they’d show getting the hat. The 6-year-old daughter of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant, Bianka Bryant, ended up getting the “22” hat during the concert film, and it was one of the most joyous moments of the whole event.

Vanessa Bryant took her daughters – Natalia, 20, Bianka, 6, and Capri, 3 – to see Swift during her first of six shows at SoFi Stadium in August. Every night, Swift gives the hat she wears during “22” to an excited fan. Most of the time it’s a kid, and sometimes, as you can see in the TikTok from ESPN , she shares the sweet moment with a youngster she personally knows, like Bianka Bryant.

The entire Bryant family was thrilled about the moment, and considering Taylor Swift’s connection to the Lakers legend and his loved ones, it made the moment in the concert film even more special (and emotional).

Taylor Swift’s Connection To Kobe Bryant

In 2015, during the 1989 World Tour, Taylor Swift brought A-list celebrities out on stage during the majority of her shows. When she got to Los Angeles, the GOAT of pop music brought out the GOAT of basketball by having Kobe Bryant join her on stage.

Swift had played five sold-out shows at the then Staples Center, and over the course of her career, she had sold out the iconic arena 16 times. That was “the most of any artist ever” and the number of championships the Lakers had at the time, as the NBA star put it. So, to celebrate, he announced that the pop star would be getting a banner in the event space.

In 2019, Kobe Bryant praised Swift and how she’s shown love for his family during an interview on The Jordan Harbinger Show . He talked about how he admired her career, and he loved learning about how she sustained success and exceeded expectations. The pop star was also so nice to his kids, and he really appreciated that. Overall, game recognizes game, and the basketball player called her “a killer.”

Since the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, Swift has seemingly remained close to the family. She paid tribute to them after their untimely deaths in 2020, and since then she has gifted the Bryant kids merchandise when she dropped albums, per Today .

At the LA concert this summer, Natalia Bryant posted about meeting with Swift backstage after the show, and you can tell by the massive smiles that there's a lot of love between the singer and this family.

Vanessa Bryant showed off this history with the jacket she wore to the concert this summer too, as Insider reported. She rocked a coat that had a big photo from that 1989 concert in 2015 which featured both Swift and Kobe on stage together. To make matters even more emotional, she had “say you’ll remember me,” written on the front in a heart. They also made the concert a full family affair, as Vanessa made friendship bracelets for Kobe and Gigi.

Why The ‘22’ Moment Made Me Tear Up While Watching Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

I’m not a crier. While the live Eras Tour altered my brain chemistry and made me feel all the emotions, I didn’t tear up. So, you can imagine my shock when, out of every song Swift sang during her concert, it was “22” that got me. However, upon further reflection, it actually makes a lot of sense why I got so emotional.

First of all, as a casual basketball fan from the West Coast, Kobe Bryant’s impact and legacy are not lost on me. His and his daughter’s deaths were truly tragic, and seeing little Bianka Bryant on the big screen brought back a lot of those emotions of the day we lost them.

Secondly, and on a happier note, the “22” moment in the show is bubbling with joy, and seeing Swift pass along her hat is always so touching. To me, seeing a little kid or a massive fan standing by the side of the stage shows the connection between Swift and her fans. It also clearly shows how much she loves Swifties. In the movie, you can clearly see the excitement and adoration on both the singer's and Bianka's faces, and their joy is infectious.

Combining these two things, I knew the gravity of Bianka Bryant being there in LA with Swift, and anytime she gives away the “22” hat a big smile always ends up on my face. Watching the concert film, all those emotions hit me at once. Seeing the 6-year-old with the biggest smile on her face as the singer lovingly hugged her, I got surprisingly emotional. I was thinking about Kobe’s legacy, Swift’s accomplishments, and just how special it is to be a Swiftie. In hindsight, of course, it was this moment that made me emotional.

If you want to see this sweet moment on the big screen, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour just dropped on the 2023 movie schedule , and you can witness it right now in movie theaters. After you see the incredible concert film, make sure you get ready for Swift’s upcoming projects , which include the continuation of the Eras Tour and the re-release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) , which comes out on October 27.

9 Ways Watching Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour On Disney+ Will Be Different From Theaters

When taylor swift goes back on the eras tour & how many dates are left, 7 hunger games theories that i'd love to see come true in the new hunger games movie & book.

  • In The Eras Tour movie, Taylor Swift gave the "22" hat to the late Kobe Bryant's 6-year-old daughter, Bianka Bryant.
  • Swift's personal connection to Kobe before his and Gianna's tragic passing adds a deeper meaning to Bianka's special moment, reflecting the pop star's close relationship with the Bryant family over the years.
  • The recipient of the "22" hat at Swift's concerts does not usually have a personal connection to her, but the gesture is always heartfelt.

The tragic backstory behind the recipient of the "22" hat in the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert movie makes the moment even more special. Filmed over the course of the first three shows at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium on the Eras Tour in August 2023, The Eras Tour movie brought Swift's showstopping concert experience to the big screen. Divided into ten separate sections, The Eras Tour concert features almost every Taylor Swift era of her lengthy music career, including the Red era.

At every show on The Eras Tour, one lucky fan is selected to receive the hat that Swift wears while performing "22" from her fourth studio album, Red . The fan is brought to the edge of the stage, where Swift kneels down and places the black fedora on their head before giving the Swiftie a big hug. It's always a touching moment at every show, but the one "22" hat recipient from Swift’s taped L.A. shows who was included in The Eras Tour movie is extra special because of her family's personal history and relationship with the pop star.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) releases on Disney+ on March 14, 2024, at 6pm PST/9pm EST.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is coming to Disney+, and the experience of watching the concert movie on streaming will be different than in theaters.

Taylor Swift Gives The 22 Hat To Bianka Bryant, The 6-Year-Old Daughter Of Kobe Bryant

Taylor swift has maintained a close relationship with the late kobe bryant's family.

In The Eras Tour movie, Swift gives the "22" hat to the late Kobe Bryant's then 6-year-old daughter, Bianka Bryant. Bianka, who is now 7, attended The Eras Tour with her mother, Vanessa Bryant, and her sisters, Natalia and Capri, at SoFi Stadium on August 3, 2023. It was an especially sweet gesture on Swift's part to give Bianka the "22" hat since the popstar had a close relationship with the little one's father before his tragic death. On January 26, 2020, Kobe, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna tragically passed away in a helicopter crash.

Prior to the NBA legend's untimely death, Swift and Kobe were well-acquainted. Their friendship dates back to 2015 when Kobe joined Swift onstage for the first of her five stops at the Staples Center (now the Crypto.com Arena) on her 1989 Tour to present her with a "championship" banner commemorating her record-breaking 16 sold-out shows at the arena over the course of her career. Kobe also spoke highly of Swift in a 2019 interview on The Jordan Harbinger Show , and they've both shown mutual love and respect for one another's drive and success over the years.

At the Eras Tour, Vanessa donned a jacket with an image of Kobe and Swift onstage that night at the Staples Center.

Knowing Swift's history with the Bryants before and after the family's heartbreaking tragedy, Bianka's "22" hat moment takes on a much deeper and even more special meaning.

Since Kobe and Gigi's passing, Swift has remained close with the Bryant family. Vanessa posted a photo on Instagram of her and her daughters posing backstage with Swift (in which Bianka is wearing the "22" hat) with the caption, "Always love." Natalia also posted a picture of her and Swift at the Eras Tour along with a throwback photo of them from the 1989 era with the caption, "Now & Then with @taylorswift." Knowing Swift's history with the Bryants before and after the family's heartbreaking tragedy, Bianka's "22" hat moment takes on a much deeper and even more special meaning.

With Taylor Swift on a brief break from performing while prepping the release of her next album, it won't be long before she's back for The Eras Tour.

How Taylor Swift Typically Chooses Who Gets The 22 Hat In Her Eras Tour Concerts

The "22" hat recipient doesn't always have a personal connection to swift.

Of course, Bianka was specifically selected as the "22" hat recipient at the Eras Tour show she attended (and was likely planned to be included in Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour ahead of time) because of Swift's connection to the Bryants. Swift has also given the "22" hat to other young attendees she knows personally, such as her best friend Selena Gomez's 10-year-old sister, Gracie, who attended the final show of the first leg on August 8, 2023, at SoFi Stadium. Though it's not always a little girl like Bianka and Gracie, the recipient is usually on the younger side.

Most of the time, Swift's team seems to simply pluck one lucky fan out of the crowd to come up to the stage and participate in the special "22" moment.

However, Swift doesn't always give the "22" hat to someone she knows. Most of the time, Swift's team seems to simply pluck one lucky fan out of the crowd to come up to the stage and participate in the special "22" moment. That said, some selections don't appear to be completely random, such as Mikael Arellano, the TikTok creator behind the viral dance to Swift's song "Bejeweled." Swift actually incorporated the creator's moves into the official choreography of her "Bejeweled" performance during the Midnights era on the Eras Tour , so choosing to give Arellano the hat was no doubt intentional.

Have You Ever Wondered How Taylor Swift Chooses Who Gets The ‘22’ Hat On The Eras Tour? Lucky Fans Shared Their Stories

Taking notes.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has many traditions. The pop star always plays two surprise songs at every show, she always dives into the stage for a costume change, and she always gives her black hat to a fan during “22.” There are tens of thousands of fans in the stadium during a given concert, so being the “Lucky One” chosen to be gifted Swift’s hat is almost impossible. So, how does the singer’s team choose the person who gets the famous hat? Let’s break it down.

How Taylor Swift Chooses Who Gets The “22” Hat According To One Young Fan

Like the lil Swiftie pictured above, Grace DelVecchio is a 12-year-old girl from Yorktown, New York, who was picked out of the crowd to receive the “Red” singer's hat during "22." Her family told a local Yorktown publication, TapInto Yorktown, that the moment was actually "a long time coming." DelVecchio has a special story, and she has loved Swift for years. When the family was fortunate to snag tickets to the Era’s Tour, the 12-year-old’s speech pathologist, Jenn Sparano, looked for a way for DelVecchio to meet the Midnights artist. She said:

I started reaching out to different background dancers. I was emailing the Taylor Swift PR team. I was messaging Taylor Swift. But I obviously didn’t hear back from anyone.

While she may not have heard from Swift’s team, the New York Post found DelVecchio’s story that Sparano posted on Facebook, and published an article about it. Still, there was no word from the Swift camp.

That all changed when security found the young girl and her father during the concert and brought her to the front of the stadium for a special moment. She was brought to the front, and the Grammy winner handed DelVecchio her hat, which she now keeps in a shadow box. Reflecting on the moment the special gal said:

I was shaking, I was so nervous to see her. It made me feel special.

That is such a remarkable moment and clearly, the campaigning worked. I’m sure the process for choosing someone to keep the hat is slightly different for every show, but this is some great insight into how moments like these come to fruition. Swift often chooses very young fans to receive her hat, making for an adorable picture-perfect memory that the fan will likely never forget.

Sometimes People Swift Knows Personally Get The “22” Hat

While the majority of the “22” hat recipients come from the crowd and are kids who idolize Swift, sometimes the singer bestows part of her costume on someone she knows personally.

For example, when Swift’s bestie Selena Gomez brought her 9-year-old sister Gracie to a show, that’s who the pop star gave her hat to.

Ultimately, this emotional “22” moment is what ended up in Swift’s Eras Tour film to represent all the Swifties who have had the honor of receiving the hat.

Swifties Who Are Prominent On Social Media Also Get The “22” Hat

Along with little Swifties and friends of the pop star getting the hat, the singer and her team will choose fans who are popular online.

For example, the "Cruel Summer" singer notability gave her hat to 22-year-old TikTok star Mikael Arellano, who originated the viral dance to “Bejeweled” that Swift replicates in her choreography on tour, during one of her shows.

Then, during her concerts in Australia, she gave a hat to the TikToker Oliver Mills, which you can see below:

In another TikTok , he made it clear that he doesn’t want to reveal how he got the hat. However, in various videos, like the one below, you can gather other information about this sweet Eras Tour moment, like the fact that Swift signs all the hats she gives to fans:

While it may not seem like Swift is paying attention to fans who go above and beyond to show their love for her music, moments like this prove she is. The record-breaking recording artist has invited her most ardent fans to early listening parties for her albums in the past by finding them through social media. She has also sent merch boxes to some fans during Christmas time to show her love and appreciation. The “Anti-Hero” singer is clearly grateful for her fans, and she gives back however she can.

You can catch Taylor Swift on the worldwide Eras Tour for the rest of 2024. Fans of the pop princess unable to get tickets due to the infamous Ticketmaster fiasco , can still witness the magic of one of her stadium shows by streaming the Eras Tour with a Disney+ subscription starting on March 14. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour T-Shirts Might Be Slowly Spelling Her Next Album Title

When re-arranged, the red letters are starting to spell out Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) .

Red Letters On Taylor Swift's Tour T-Shirts May Be Clues For The Next 'Taylor's Version' Album

You didn’t think Taylor Swift would let the Eras Tour pass by without laying a few easter eggs along the way, did you? Swifties already think the 12-time Grammy winner hints at her next studio album during the Eras Tour finale, but she also may be giving clues about something that’s likely to come much sooner: Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) .

During her performance of “22,” Swift has been wearing looks inspired by the iconic “Not a lot going on at the moment” tee in the song’s 2013 music video. On opening night on March 17 , she wore a shirt that stated “A lot going on at the moment,” spinning the phrase on its head. The following night, she donned a T-shirt that used the “22” lyric, “Ew, who’s Taylor Swift anyway?” Eagle-eyed fans noticed that “a lot” and “ew” were written in red, while the rest of the quote was in black, making fans question what that could possibly mean.

Given how Swift has indicated that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is her next re-recording via easter eggs in her “Bejeweled” music video , and her penchant for giving jumbled clues that fans have to literally spell out, Swifties immediately guessed that the red letters would eventually spell out “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).” Low and behold, all of the letters fit. It’s also appropriate that this easter egg would be dropped during the Red act of the Eras Tour, considering it’s the most recent “Taylor’s Version” album she released.

This theory gained steam at the March 31 show in Arlington, Texas, where Swift debuted a third “22” shirt that read, “We are never getting back together. Like ever.” The “never” and “ever” were highlighted in red letters, continuing to fill out the phrase “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”

However, there is an extra “v” that doesn’t fit into the album title, leading some to speculate that she could also be hinting at the re-recording’s release date. “I saw someone say it’s spelling ‘Speak Now Taylor’s Version November 17,’” one fan commented on a TikTok video .

There’s still a few letters to be filled in, meaning Swifties will have to wait and see if she sports a new shirt during “22” at a future show. The Eras Tour will continue in Tampa, Fla., on April 13 after a brief respite, which is likely welcome for Swift considering how the show comes with a mammoth 44-song setlist that lasts over three hours.
