An industry that was one of the worst affected during the pandemic is swinging back to its former glory and is now growing faster than ever. According to a report published by Future Market Insights (FMI), the sustainable tourism market size is predicted to grow to $ 8.4 trillion by 2032.

Since most of the world has opened its borders, With the added visibility on social media, travel stories and adventures have resulted in a perceivable increase in domestic and international tourism. As a result, learning and job opportunities in this market are also on the rise.

In India especially, the travel and tourism industry is one of the largest and contributes significantly to the country’s foreign exchange. The trend also suggests that the industry will be on an upward trend for the next two decades or so.

So, if you see yourself as a part of this industry, then a travel and tourism course is what you need to consider. You will learn to plan and manage travel arrangements, hospitality, and customer service, to name a few skill sets. You get to develop your ability to multitask, communicate effectively and become an organisational genius, helping people have the trips of their dreams.

A typical travel and tourism course is an aggregate of leisure, comfort, luxury, and business travel and hospitality needs. Global distribution Systems (GDS) are also a large part of this field. Any course in this discipline will include chiefly the fundamentals, history, business statistics and market trends, aviation management, and business regulatory framework of tourism along with basic data sciences that help you study and analyse the trends in the tourism industry.

You will also gain an in-depth knowledge of how tourism operates, airfare, industry terms, international destinations, reservations, ticketing, life and communication skills. In addition, the course will help you build your interpersonal and leadership skills to provide the best possible options for travellers and tourists.

What does one get out of studying this course? Let’s take a look…

1. Global opportunities:

Careers in this industry go beyond borders in today’s globalised world, where international travel and tourism is more accessible than ever before. You can build your career in an airline, hotel, resort, cruise ship or any related organisation in any country. THe scope of international transfers is also very high.

2. Skills that are transferable:

As a student of tourism management or hotel management, the fundamental skills you are learning are business management, human relations, sensitivity to other cultures and creative thinking. These skills are highly transferable and can be seamlessly employed in any other industry that you choose to work in.

3. More opportunities to travel:

If you are an adventure seeker yourself, this course gives you the chance to make a career out of it.

4. Problem solving and people skills:

Versatility is one of the key lessons of this discipline. It includes work hours, dealing with different people, cultures, food, countries and so on. One of the biggest benefits of this course is that you will learn adaptability and problem solving.

5. Transformation and Growth of the Tourism industry:

The nature and scope of the tourism industry is a dynamic thing that evolves as the world adapts to the changing times. For instance, sustainable travel and pet-friendly travel options are taking over, along with wellness tourism and enabling technologies to make it more accessible and quicker. These developments have made the industry a multi-faced and interdisciplinary one, requiring professionals with a wide range of skill sets. As a prospective student, this directly translates to increased opportunities, specialised areas of work and building problem solving skills.

What are the career opportunities after studying travel and tourism?

There is a general misconception that careers in the tourism industry are at a dead end due to self-booking platforms (like MakeMyTrip, Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) –  that enable customers to directly make their plans and book their tickets. That’s far from the truth – also working in the industry has many more options than being a travel agent. That said, the role of a travel agent has not become obsolete.

tourism course cost

If anything, it’s actually on the rise. Studies show that in the U.S. alone, 44% of travellers who did not use travel advisors pre-pandemic have or plan to use travel agents. The reason is profoundly psychological yet simple. After lockdown fatigue, people have been desperate to travel or have an adventure. The overwhelming number of choices also has proven to decrease satisfaction and cause decision paralysis. Enter, the travel advisor.

In addition to being a travel advisor, tourism departments of governments are looking for fresh blood and new ideas to rejuvenate their country’s image and welcome more tourists. Embassies often hire graduates from Tourism departments. You can also find opportunities in immigration and customs departments, airlines, hotels, event management, travel journalism, sales and marketing, and so on.

Here are some of the portfolios you can hold after completing a Travel and Tourism degree:

  • 1. Travel Advisor/ Agent
  • 2. Tour guide/ Adventure Guide
  • 3. Tourism Manager in both governmental and non-governmental organisations
  • 4. Travel journalist, writing, photography or videography
  • 5. Air cabin crew
  • 6. Hotel Manager/ Concierge
  • 7. Event manager
  • 9. Entertainment Manager
  • 10. Interpreter (provided you also build multiple language skills simultaneously

The bottom line is that the skills you develop by doing a travel and tourism course are completely transferable and can be applied in most service sectors. You do not have to limit yourself to the options mentioned here since most organisations are not extremely particular about the degree you possess.

The hotel industry, which comprises primarily food, beverages, accommodation, and events, works hand in hand with travel and tourism and one cannot separate the two. They are two sides of the same coin. Therefore, as an aspirant, you can also consider entering the travel and tourism industry with a B.H.M degree. The skills you learn here are transferable, as personality development is one of the core requirements for someone in the hospitality sector. You also get to develop quick problem-solving skills and critical thinking, which can be applied in any field.

At the undergraduate level, you will learn the basics of front office management and customer service, nutrition, catering, food and beverages, housekeeping, and accounting. Within these major topics, you will delve into the depths of food production, baking, sustainability, communication systems and management, safety, accommodation management, and so on. A diploma curriculum, typically, is light on theoretical knowledge but guarantees extensive practical knowledge, customised to fit the travel and tourism industry. In this field, you have numerous diploma options. With the industry growing in leaps and bounds, it is natural that more super-specialized diplomas also come into existence.

This article so far has looked at numerous options in the field of Travel and Tourism that you can pursue after your 12th. Needless to say, you can continue on this learning path even after your bachelor’s degree. At the Master’s level, you narrow down to a niche area and specialise. You have degrees that delve into e-tourism, revenue management, culture studies from a tourism perspective, destination management, sustainable travel, tourism for sports, gastronomy, culinary sciences, bartending and beverages, and so on.

These courses are so niche that, on successful completion, you can find yourself being in demand all over the world.

If you choose to go down the MBA route, then you also have top business schools offering an MBA program tailor-made to fit the requirements of the travel and hospitality industry. You have courses at the postgraduate level, going all the way up to a Ph.D. in Travel and Tourism and while we talk about all kinds of successful career options, let us not forget that you can get into the teaching side of things, inspiring the next generation of travel professionals.

The other alternative is to pursue a certificate course in addition to whichever field you are qualified in. That way, you up-skill yourself and create a niche, combining the skill sets of two different fields. The only thing you have to ensure is that you sign up for a certificate course with an accredited university/ institution.

Here is a list of some of the top universities in the world for tourism, hospitality and leisure management studies.

You are solely responsible and liable for activity that occurs on your account and shall be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your TC Global password. You shall never use another user's account without such other user's prior express permission. You shall not sell, license, rent, or otherwise use or exploit any Content for commercial (whether or not for profit) use or in any way that violates any third party right.

For clarity, the foregoing license grant to TC Global does not affect your other ownership or license rights in your User Submission(s), including the right to grant additional licenses to the material in your User Submission(s), unless otherwise agreed in writing with TC Global.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights to grant such license to us without infringement or violation of any third party rights, including without limitation, any privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights, or any other intellectual property or proprietary rights.

Modification of Terms of Use

TC Global reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace any of these Terms of Use, or change, suspend, or discontinue the Service (including without limitation, the availability of any feature, database, or content) at any time by posting a notice on the Site or by sending you notice through the Service or via email. If any provision of these Terms is held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, under any law, such provision or part thereof shall to that extent be deemed not to form part of these Terms but the legality, validity and enforceability of the other provisions in these Terms shall not be affected. In that event, the parties shall replace the illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision or part thereof with a provision or part thereof that is legal, valid and enforceable and that has, to the greatest extent possible, a similar effect as the illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision or part thereof, given the contents and purpose of these Terms. These Terms constitute the entire agreement and understanding of the parties with respect to its subject matter and replaces and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements or undertakings regarding such subject matter. In these Terms, the words "including" and "include" mean "including, but not limited to."

First party cookies are the cookies served by the owner of the domain. In our case, that's TC Global. Any cookie we place ourselves is a "first-party cookie."

Third-party cookies are cookies placed on our domains by trusted partners that we've allowed to do so. These can be social media partners, advertising partners, security providers, and more. And they can be either "session cookies" or "permanent cookies":

Session cookies only exist until you close your browser, ending what's called your "session." Then they're deleted.

Permanent cookies have a range of lifespans and stay on your device after the browser is closed. On the Site, we try to only serve permanent cookies (or allow permanent cookies to be served by third parties) that have a limited lifespan. However, for security reasons or in other exceptional circumstances, sometimes we may need to give a cookie a longer lifespan.

Web browser cookies may store info such as your IP address or other identifiers, your browser type, and info about the content you view and interact with on digital services. By storing this info, web browser cookies can remember your preferences and settings for online services and analyze how you use them.

Along with cookies, we also use tracking technologies that are very similar. Our Site may contain small transparent image files or lines of code that record how you interact with them. These include "web beacons," "scripts," "tracking URLs," or "software development kits" (known as SDKs):

Web beacons have a lot of different names. They might also be known as web bugs, tracking bugs, tags, web tags, page tags, tracking pixels, pixel tags, 1x1 GIFs, or clear GIFs. In short, these beacons are a tiny graphic image of just one pixel that can be delivered to your device as part of a web page request, in an app, an advertisement, or an HTML email message. They can be used to retrieve info from your device, such as your device type, operating system, IP address, and the time of your visit. They are also used to serve and read cookies in your browser or to trigger the placement of a cookie.

Scripts are small computer programs embedded within our web pages that give those pages a wide variety of extra functionality. Scripts make it possible for the website to function properly. For example, scripts power certain security features and enable basic interactive features on our website. Scripts can also be used for analytical or advertising purposes. For example, a script can collect info about how you use our website, such as which pages you visit or what you search for.

Tracking URLs are links with a unique identifier in them. These are used to track which website brought you to the Site. An example woold be if you clicked from a social media page, search engine, or one of our affiliate partners' websites.

Software Development Kits (SDKs) are part of our apps' source code. Unlike browser cookies, SDK data is stored in the app storage. They're used to analyze how the apps are being used or to send personalized push notifications. To do this, they record unique identifiers associated with your device, like your device ID, IP address, in-app activity, and network location.

All these tracking technologies are referred to as "cookies" here in this Cookie Statement. However, no Personal Information identifying the user is collected nor any data capture mechanisms are employed. The user may change browser settings to accept or reject cookies on personal preference. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify the browser setting to decline cookies if you so prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to sign in or use other interactive features of the Site that may depend on cookies. If you choose to accept cookies, you also have the ability to later delete cookies that you have accepted. If you choose to delete cookies, any settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, including advertising preferences, will be deleted and may need to be recreated. We process and keep all data for our own use and, if you wish to opt-out from tracking by TC Global you can do so at [email protected]

Award Winning - Top Online Course 4 years in a row.

Students Have Made Over $1,000 in a Day

Years of Trading

Have you ever?

Spent hours upon hours trying to teach yourself on YouTube

Paid for a teacher and not learned anything

Heard about long term investing but felt clueless about short term gains

Felt scared to make the first step

Felt overwhelmed with all the strategies and wanted a more simple, easy to follow plan

Lost a ton of money trading and felt helpless because you didn't have anyone to talk to

Group 601 (1)-min

If that's you...

Then keep reading, my friend, because what happens in the next few minutes could decide if you stay stuck another year in your daily grind or gain the knowledge that will make you recession-proof in any economy.

And believe me

I know what it's like.

To have a dead-end job

To not have enough savings

To wake up miserable every day knowing you're off to work for someone else's dream

To not know where and how to start investing

To literally try every YouTube strategy there is, and still lose money

Group 604 (4)-min

The truth is

My life wasn't always this glamorous, ...and i wasn't always financially independent..

I used to be an elementary school assistant principal. I was also a youth pastor at my church.

While I loved the work I was doing at the church and school to be honest I was…

Overworked, underpaid, and stressed beyond measure.

My self-esteem was shot. I gained weight and fell into depression.

When a close friend passed away, I decided that life was too short to not be able to enjoy it.

I decided to quit giving myself the short end of the stick and I never looked back.

Trading for income gave me:

The chance to quit my 9-5 for good and travel as much as I want (while using my cell phone to make trades

The ability to say "YES" to what I love (and a guilt-free "bless your heart" to what I don't)

Freedom from debt! I paid off my student loans, $150,000 credit card debt, and soon paid off my mortgage.

2019Teri-11132019TERIret (1) 1-min

You can EASILY make $200 in a day, from anywhere in the world

Just using your phone and laptop..., that equals:, sound too good to be true.

It really isn't

It's been done over and over again, and the 30,000 students that I have helped be financially independent and fulfill their financial dreams are my witnesses

Retire in peace without financial anxiety

Pay your bills without taking on a side hustle

Quit your 9-5 and do what you love

Or just make more than your current income...

Making $1,000 every.single.day is NOT a pie-in-the-sky goal.

It really isn't hard…

The truth is...

Trading is a fixed game, and you CAN consistently beat the market with fixed strategies that have been used for decades.

Just bear with me, I will tell you how this is possible for you too.

You Can Master The Trading Game When You Implement The 7-Step Trading Roadmap I Share In The Trade & Travel Program, So You Can:

Open a trading account and learn the basics of getting started (if you're a beginner with no prior trading experience)

Get strategic and plan your way to success, to minimize risk and don't lose money (you'll practice your skills on a Simulator, i.e. you'll trade with fake money, build your confidence before you make the leap to live trading)

Create a comprehensive trading plan and an exit strategy that are aligned with your income goals (if you're an advanced trader)

Make trading for income a reality without losing sleep, money, and your mind!

These outcomes are totally within reach for you and your lifestyle goals (whether you're starting from scratch or have been trading for a while).

Group 604 (6)-min

But don't just take my word for it

See what existing trade and travel students have to say, meet annette.

Skeptical at first... and then she made $2,500 in a day!

"I was ecstatic. If you're having any doubts if this could be for you, I'm telling you... take the course."

He was your basic everyday blue collar employee. Working as a security guard he was stressed, overworked and dreading his every next day

Meet Alex & Selenia

A couple with different jobs in different cities... no longer a challenge! "We didn't have to wait for the right opportunity for me...

because I already had the opportunity."

Meet Gretchen

"Teri's trading philosophy ... it allows me to do it where people who've been in this industry for years might not even know how to do it. It doesn't matter how smart you are, anybody can do it as long as you follow the process."

And this is what fills my heart at night

Trade & travel is a family - and this is what keeps the travel & travel program strong.

And before you make up your mind

I want to share with you some more, it took me 13+ years lots of mistakes and hard-earned lessons to create proven strategies that eventually got me to $1,000+ days., and if you allow me, i can help you do that too.

Athena, Trade and Travel Student

Thank you so much, Teri Ijeoma! I've always been afraid of the stock market. I didn't think I was "good at money" or skilled enough to learn about something so seemingly complicated. You've taught us an invaluable life-long skill set, you've given me knowledge and confidence. I hope this wealth grows and multiplies so that I can bless others with the gift of this financial abundance too!

image_92_1-transformed-min

Let's Do This!

If you've ever wanted to learn how to trade but thought it was too complex, you're right; there are no overnight successes or magic wands!

When I started trading stocks over a decade ago, I saw it as an opportunity to supplement my income so I could afford luxuries such as travel. I was so successful that in 2017 this side hustle turned into my full-time income, and I founded Trade and Travel.

With more than 13+ years invested in my trading education, courses, workshops, having spent thousands of dollars, with a lot of trial and error, I developed expert strategies and proprietary intelligence that fast-tracks the learning journey and earning performance. These very same strategies enabled me to transition from working in my old school office - to traveling the world doing what I do best; trading.

Get on-board and start on the journey to financial freedom!

Travel agents are the professionals in charge of making the dream vacation of many individuals and families come true.

They are in charge of guiding people from the moment they start thinking about traveling to the moment they go back home.

Travel agent training will help professionals initiating in the traveling business field to gain basic knowledge and skills for the job.

What Is A Travel Agent?

A travel agent is a professional in charge of planning trips and everything that it’s included.

These travel professionals simplify the time-consuming process of planning a trip by providing consultation services and entire travel packages.

Travel agents can perform all tasks related to the trip including booking flights or cruises, renting cars, and booking hotels, as well as planning events during the trip and the entire schedule.

These professionals have the expertise to solve any inconvenience there can arise during a trip, and they will also provide consultations regarding migration procedures for traveling.

Ozempic: Weight Loss Miracle Drug or Something Darker? Johann Hari on The Benefits & Risks

This week, I’m joined by Johann Hari, New York Times bestselling author, journalist, and speaker, to explore his journey into the world of the new weight loss drug phenomenon: Ozempic. Johann shares his surprising firsthand experience injecting himself weekly with the drug for over a year, leading to dramatic weight loss but also complex side effects. We discuss the staggering potential of these “magic pills” to curb the global obesity epidemic, but also the alarming risks like thyroid cancer, pancreatitis, and muscle wasting. Johann provides a nuanced look at the bigger picture—examining the role of pharmaceutical profit, societal pressures around body image, and whether medicalizing thinness addresses root causes. His investigation stretches from the science labs of Iceland to the food culture of Japan. This discussion ultimately confronts sobering philosophical questions about the ethics of pharmaceutical shortcuts versus growth through struggle. Please enjoy! More ROLL ON

In the name of all things glorious, please, more Roll On shows. Once a month would be a treat and standout in the landscape of noise.

My absolute favorite podcast

Listening to Rich feels like hanging out with a good friend, who has really interesting friends. His voice puts me at ease like the Calm app. I count on Rich to deliver relevant info and I trust his opinion about the products that sponsor his show. Most notable is Rich’s vocabulary- he uses diverse and articulate language, its a real treat to learn from him.

Drifted off course…

This podcast was a great source of information years ago, but this will be the last time I listen. Rich has always interrupted female guests repeatedly…or talked over them…but it has become ridiculous. The guy needs to learn how to use a period at the end of a sentence. In the ozempic episode he talks over the guy with lived experience and decries Big Pharma…and then cuts right to a plug for supplements. The hypocrisy is tangible.

Hungryroot Review: Our Honest Take On This Hybrid Meal Delivery Service

Our registered dietitian and testers tried the service over the course of three months.

We've been independently researching and testing products for over 120 years. If you buy through our links, we may earn a commission. Learn more about our review process.

Hungryroot , a hybrid meal and grocery delivery service , aims to solve this problem by offering a one-stop shop that takes the guesswork out of healthy meal planning. But the service does come at a premium, so you may be wondering if Hungryroot is really worth the cost. I tried the service firsthand myself, and even sent Hungryroot kits to five different GH+ testers across the nation for real life feedback on their experiences preparing the food in their homes over the course of three months. Here is everything you need to know about Hungryroot, including the quality of recipes and who the service is best for.

Hungryroot Meal Delivery

Meal Delivery

How does Hungryroot work?

How are the hungryroot groceries and recipes, our hungryroot testing experience, how much does hungryroot cost, where does hungryroot deliver, who is hungryroot good for, is hungryroot worth it, why trust good housekeeping, what is hungryroot.

Hungryroot describes itself as a "personalized grocery service that makes it easy to eat healthy." It's essentially a master meal planner — the service will generate a list of groceries for you paired with recipes for the week and ship everything straight to your door. You can have the service just handle dinners or opt for lunches and breakfasts too. This two-in-one grocery and meal delivery service takes the hassle out of having to meal plan or keep your fridge restocked, and saves you a trip to the grocery store.

Start by taking a quiz to tell Hungryroot about any of your dietary needs, who you're feeding, allergies and more. Multiple dietary preferences can be met, including dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, omnivore, soy-free, nut-free, gluten-free and more. You'll then input your payment information and the service will create a grocery plan and fill your cart with suggested groceries and recipes to meet your needs. You can always edit the delivery to get exactly what you'd like (just made sure to do so before the cut-off time prior to your upcoming delivery).

You also have the option to add on individual grocery items like snacks, breakfast foods, fruit and more if desired. All of the items that Hungryroot offers are free from partially hydrogenated oils, artificial sweeteners, high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors and artificial preservatives. You can give feedback on your groceries and recipes so the service can improve deliveries each week.

Groceries include everything from fresh produce to premium proteins and health-conscious shelf-stable items. You'll also find Hungryroot prepared sauces which can help add a great dose of flavor to mealtime in a pinch. Recipes are abundant (there are over 3,000 to choose from) and include everything from grain bowls to pasta dishes, tacos and stir-fries. There is even a section of kids meals and family meals. The volume of meals can feel overwhelming, so it's nice that the service does provide suggestions.

sassos testing hungryroot meal delivery service for good housekeeping

I tested the service myself several times and also sent Hungryroot to five different GH+ tester homes across the nation for their real-life feedback. Testers rated Hungryroot as one of the best services in our evaluation, saying that the meals were so easy to prepare and that the portion sizes were generous. Busy families appreciated that the cart would auto-fill and generate not just groceries but also corresponding recipes.

One tester said, "It was so fresh, the variety was amazing and everything was so quick to put together. Loved that everything came precut and prepackaged." Another tester commented, "I really enjoyed the recipes that were provided, and I liked that most of the ingredients were prepared (salsas, sauces, chopped veggies), so cooking was simple and quick. Specifically, I really enjoyed the delicious sauces!"

For my most recent Hungryroot testing experience, I tried the following recipes:

  • Seared Sirloin Steak with Mushrooms and Potatoes
  • Pesto Linguine with Chicken Sausage and Broccoli
  • Juicy Chicken Fajita-Style Tacos

The website was easy to navigate and I chose to accept the groceries and recipes that the service recommended, but it's nice that you can opt to change items in your delivery. As far as the actual delivery, all items arrived cold but organization could have been better as some of the products seemed to be tossed around in transit.

In addition to the recipes, I also received some other groceries in my box including a salad kit, chicken tikka naan toastie, classic fruit salad, almond chickpea cookie dough and more. I wouldn't have put the toastie or the cookie dough in my cart, but those were pleasant surprises. The toastie made for an easy and flavorful lunch paired with the salad kit, and the cookie dough was a nice vegan sweet treat after a long day that I could eat out of the container but ended up baking for a delicious warm cookie.

As a dietitian, I was impressed with the assortment of items and that many of the offerings were on the health-conscious side , like the cauliflower linguine which had a great texture and paired well with the sauce provided and the riced broccoli which was in a convenient 90-second microwaveable pouch. Even my steak was good quality, grass-fed beef sirloin steak from Rastelli's, one of our favorite meat delivery services . "The quality of the ingredients was amazing, the variety was excellent, I loved everything in the shipment, and the recipes are easy to follow," one tester noted.

The kit has little time savers that make the world of a difference during meal prep , like the pre-washed potatoes that just had to be sliced, the pre-chopped veggies and the prepared sauces, which made the recipes quick and easy. I liked that the recipes were included on the packing slip, or I could scan the QR code to go to the site or app for my recipes. The recipes were each different and quite simple to prepare. They weren't the most inventive or unique but I felt that they were true crowd-pleasers for the whole family.

"My 12-year-old son followed the recipe cards and made the tortellini and chicken sausage dinner himself without any assistance," one tester even said. But the sauces are really what make the dishes, so don't skimp on those — without the sauces and condiments, the recipes would have been very bland. I do wish that the kit had included more spices and maybe some citrus like a squeeze of lemon or lime, but I was able to make do with what I had on hand. Everything was in good condition except for the fruit salad which could have been fresher, although another tester said that all of their fruit was fresh and nothing was rotten or bruised. Even the pre-cut vegetables and the meats in my box were good quality.

I had a few leftover ingredients, and the brand provides a virtual cookbook with an index of thousands of recipes that can put your food to use, so you don't have to worry about waste. I also appreciated the option of rating my food, so the service can give even better suggestions and recommendations in the future. I reached out to customer support via their contact us form and text support and received prompt responses.

Cost ultimately depends on how much food you order and which groceries you choose each week. Meals start as low as $9.69 per serving and deliveries can have anywhere from three to eight recipes that serve two or four people. The brand offers free shipping for orders over $70. However, there is a $6.99 shipping fee for smaller orders. We did find the cost to be a bit high compared to standard groceries, likely since some of the items are already prepared or semi-prepared.

Hungryroot delivers to most zip codes in the 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C. All of their deliveries are shipped via 1-day or 2-day transit time. Communication about delivery was great — I received timely emails from the brand on when to expect the shipment, as well as links to my recipes and tips on making the most of my order.

Sustainability is always top of mind for us at GH, so it was nice to see that the box, food protector and paper cooler that comes in the Hungryroot shipment can be recycled with cardboard and paper materials. The gel inside the ice packs can be discarded down a drain and then you can recycle the #4 plastic bag. "I loved that the box that everything was shipped in was eco-friendly but also kept everything cold. The ice packs could be reused or used as plant food," one tester said. As far as the food packaging, you'll want to check the package for instructions. Since much of the groceries come pre-prepared or pre-cut, we felt that there was definitely more food packaging and single-use plastic in this box than other services we have tested.

I'd recommend this service for singles, busy couples or families of four who are looking to make more health-conscious choices at mealtime. Since the service combines meal planning and grocery shopping all in one, it can be a true time-saver for putting together healthy meals. The recipes are well-balanced and family-friendly, but if you're an experienced home cook looking for more inventive meals then the recipes may fall short. "I would recommend this service especially to busy families who don't have the time to meal plan because everything comes ready to make so it eliminates the stress of trying to come up with meals that the whole family will enjoy," one tester commented.

If you're trying to make healthier choices in 2024 but don't have the time to meal plan or even get to the grocery store, Hungryroot can be a great solution. This hybrid grocery and meal delivery service checks a lot of boxes, delivering not just fresh groceries but also curated recipes directly to your door. You'll pay a premium, but the service cuts out the middleman and takes the guesswork out of healthy meal planning. Plus, it accommodates for a wide variety of dietary preferences to keep the whole household happy.
