The FootJoy Tour Alpha is built for stability, and it delivers.  Great support and cushioning.

Introduction

If you track the golf shoe market, you’ve noticed a trend toward “do anything, go anywhere” shoes.  Those shoes are great for a casual nine or a quick range session.  But when you need to hit the fairway on #18, you want a shoe built for one thing: stability.  The FootJoy Tour Alpha is that shoe.

If you asked me to draw a high tech, top of the line FootJoy golf shoe, I would draw the Tour Alpha.  Looking down, they deliver the clean, classic look you expect from FootJoy.  From every other angle, you see sharp modern lines done with a high level of restraint.  As is their habit, FootJoy has infused a dash of color to pique visual interest in otherwise staid color schemes.

The laced FootJoy Tour Alpha is available in three colorways : white, black, and white/grey (shown).  With the BOA Closure, it’s offered in grey and white/grey with neon green accents.  Finally, the Dual BOA closure is available in only white/grey, but it’s slightly different than the laced version.

Sliding into the FootJoy Tour Alpha for the first time, I equated them to a firm handshake .  They’re not trying to squeeze the life out of you, but they want their presence known a bit.  Despite their athletic look, the Tour Alpha is a leather shoe, so it is likely to get a bit more supple with wear.

As I wore them more, I found that the Tour Alpha sets a definite boundary around your foot .  Within those limits, your foot has ample room to move.  Notably, I found the toe box to be more spacious than expected.  However, those boundaries are hard limits with a lot of structure and support.

Underfoot, FootJoy employs an OrthoLite EcoPlush Fit-Bed for cushioning.  The advantage of OrthoLite is that it does not “set,” so the cushioning remains the same round after round .  Meeker made particular note of how comfortable the cushioning is, and I enjoyed its “just right” firmness.

In terms of sizing, I found the Tour Alpha to fit well in my normal size 13.  Matt Meeker found a slightly better fit in a 9 compared to his usual 9.5.  This could be due to FootJoy’s use of the Laser Plus Last which is slightly roomier , especially through the toe .

Performance

Stability is the focus of the FootJoy Tour Alpha, and it absolutely delivers there.  The replaceable spikes are set wide to create a powerful, secure foundation for your swing .  For traction and anchoring to the ground, there may be shoes that equal the Tour Alpha, but I can’t think of one that surpasses it.

Of course, the sole is only the first part of creating a stable shoe.  If your foot isn’t secured inside the shoe, all the traction in the world doesn’t matter.  FootJoy keeps your foot locked in with a fitted, 3D molded heel and lateral stability elements.  In all the swings I took in the Tour Alpha, I never once slipped, got “outside” my feet, or even thought about my footwork .  These shoes 100% deliver on their claims of stability.

For all their virtues, it should be noted that the Tour Alpha is not for everyone.  The heel of these shoes is fairly tall – the norm for FootJoy – so those seeking “natural motion” shoes may be uncomfortable.  Also, the sole is very rigid .  If you’re coming from a more mobile shoe, you might feel fatigue or discomfort until you adapt.

As noted earlier, the FootJoy Tour Alpha comes in three different closure systems .  Matt Meeker and I tested the conventional laced version ($189).  There is also a lace-free BOA Closure ($219) with the dial on heel.  Finally, there is a Dual Boa version ($249) with one dial on the heel and another on the outside of the foot.

The FootJoy Tour Alpha is not the shoe you’re going to wear to the grocery store; it’s the shoe you’re going to wear to bomb it down every fairway without fear.  If you put a premium on stability and traction, look no further.  The Tour Alpha should be your go to for 2022.

Maybe this is what you were getting at, Matt, but geez, the soles of these shoes look so thick that my feet are a good inch — or more from the ground. Seems like they are 180 degree difference from the TRUEs that you always loved.

Had been wearing Ecco shoes for a few seasons and wanted to go back to a more stable shoe. Bought the single BOA version and love them. Comfortable and stable for the entire round. Feel like I have a much more solid ground connection. No need for custom insole, feels great all day.

I got a pair of these and I love them. Very comfortable and the soles give my feet the support I need

How can I get one –size (6.5 wide) or (6.0 wide). You make it always starting from SIZE 7.0.

Loved these shoes but I say a durability issue after 4 rounds the side of my shoes are blowing out.

Worst shoe of the footjoy range I’ve worn sore heels toes

These shoes are also uncomfortably heavy. Great fit just much heavier than any shoe I have previously worn

The FootJoy Tour Alpha BOA Golf shoe s are the newest version of tour caliber shoes that offers extreme stability with laces, BOA and dual BOA.   These spiked shoes are the grippiest, most stable, lock down, swing for the fences, golf shoes I’ve ever tested.  The combination of Pular spikes, BOA options, Ortholite inserts, OPS (Optimized Performance Stabilizer), WrapID, and ChromoSkin Leather means these shoes can endure the most strenuous environments in golf.  While you may not be putting for millions of dollars on the 72nd hole; that daunting tee shot, or that side hill wedge shot when playing against our buddies can use all the stability we can get.

The FootJoy Tour Alpha BOA Shoes have a sleek look with their wrapped lace system to perfectly lock your foot into the shoe.  The SoftSpikes come in 2 colors in the bottom of the shoe (for looks) to lock your foot to the ground.  The strong connection means stability for walking and throughout the swing.  The ChromoSkin Leather has a “stiffness” to it, yet supple flex for excellent stability while maintaining a comfortable bend for walking.

The FootJoy Tour Alpha BOA Shoes have my favorite shoe feature: BOA.   They offer 2 BOA options, single and dual.  I went single on these with the dial in the back.  The WrapID is locked down on the side of the foot so no laces cut across the tope which allow for a better and more comfortable fit.  Everyone has a different foot shape and height to their arch.  This allows the fit to be dialed in precisely and easily maintained with a click of the BOA dial.

The FootJoy Tour Alpha BOA is one sharp looking shoe.  If you want technology, stability and BOA you won’t find a classier shoe out there.  It looks great with just about everything from shorts to khaki pants.  They are mostly white with some grey accents on the heel and just a pop or lime green.  The combination is very clean looking and because of the Chromoskin leather stays exceptionally clean in dusty and dirty conditions.

FootJoy Tour Alpha BOA Shoes are golf shoes only.  They are spiked and are not going to be worn off the course.  However I was impressed by their comfort.  While it took a few holes to break them in ; I didn’t feel the rush to get them off my feet after I walked off the 18 green.  The Ortholite insoles are really “cushy” and give the shoes a nice soft feel while walking.  They can be interchanged to adjust the fit even more to your specific foot needs.  In many brands I wear a 9.5; but in FootJoy I have found that 9 is the better fit.  So make sure you try these on or know your FootJoy size before ordering off the internet.

Practicality and comfort are two things you can't go without on the golf course. No one likes to play a slow round of golf and neither do they like to be uncomfortable. If you've not heard of BOA golf shoes before, they are a specific kind of shoe that feature a unique lacing system designed to spread even pressure throughout your entire foot. Aptly named to pay homage to the boa constrictor snake, the system features a wind up dial that can be twisted to loosen or tighten a wire lace up system across the shoe. The system was conceived in 2001, by American company BOA, who initially implemented the system into the boots of snowboarders to help them comfortably pop their boots on and off. Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

Perhaps one of the most innovative golf shoes on this list, the Tour Alpha BOA has many of the same features as the standard laced version of the Tour Alpha but comes with a new Wrapid 2.0 fit that features two BOA dials on the heel and side of the shoe. They are designed to help golfers lock their feet in more comfortable while reducing the pressure on the top of the foot. 

FootJoy claims that this is supposed to help the golfer feel more connected to the ground while also giving them greater power and support in their shot. When we tested this shoe, it was a seriously comfortable alternative compared to wearing a laced pair of golf trainers and felt like it gave us a great connection with the ground which made us feel more comfortable swinging through our shots with a lot of power. Admittedly this is an expensive golf shoe, but it is one of the flagship models in the exceptional FootJoy range and if you are looking for something that is going to offer an excellent fit and even better comfort then this is perhaps one of the best shoes for you.

Skechers Go Golf Elite 5 Slip 'In Shoe

What Skechers has earned a reputation for – and this applies right across the  best Skechers golf shoes  – is supreme levels of comfort. This rule applies to the Elite 5 Slip 'In and this pair is definitely one of  most comfortable golf shoes  that we've worn. We’ve never put on a pair of golf shoes before without carefully avoiding applying too much pressure on the back, obviously for fear of causing lasting damage. With the Skechers Go Golf Elite 5 Slip 'In shoes, and courtesy of an extra stiff back, this is not a problem – they slip on just like a pair of comfy slippers – and they feel just as good. So, no shoe horn required. 

Meanwhile, the Twist-Fit dial system located on the side makes them easy to fasten. Again, we can see the appeal for those who suffer with a stiff back in the morning, as there’s no need to struggle with lacing up, plus you haven't got to worry about the laces gradually loosening over time and needing to be retied at the most inconvenient of moments. You can’t talk about Skechers without mentioning the removable Arch Fit insole, which provides podiatrist-certified arch support. Combined with the Heel Pillow, you’re guaranteed a comfortable and ‘locked in’ feel, which is something we also experienced when testing the  Pro 5 Hyper shoe  worn by Matt Fitzpatrick .

Mizuno Genem WG GTX BOA Golf Shoe

This environmentally-friendly golf shoe not only looks great, but feels fantastic on your feet all while reducing harmful ammonia and phosphorous in industrial wastewater - a win-win for the environment and golfers looking for a stylish new spikeless golf shoe.

First things first, the Genem WG GTXs look fantastic. The shoe is currently available in three colorways, but I tested the white and black pair for a few rounds on the course to see if the performance matched the aesthetics. The comfort was instantaneous when sliding into these BOA-powered shoes, largely down to the Mizuno Enerzy - a super soft midsole that has been taken from Mizuno running shoes and transferred into the Genem WG GTX golf shoes.

The upper of the Genem WG GTXs is created through recycled synthetic materials and the BOA wire is also recycled. The BOA system worked seamlessly and provided a really secure fit when walking and swinging.

Ecco Biom G5 Shoe

The Ecco Biom G5 aims to bring together the best elements of two previous Biom shoes into one feature-packed model. Notably, the cleated outsole of the  Biom G3  and the athletic look of the impressive Biom H4. We have to say, Ecco has done a great job and the addition of the BOA lacing system in the pair we tested is the cherry on top.

The first thing you’ll notice with the Biom G5 is the weight, or the lack of it, with the Biom G5 weighing 18 grams lighter than the  Biom H4 , no mean feat given the addition of the cleats on the outsole. Talking of the cleats, there are only six in this model, which are positioned at the very edge of the outsole to provide perimeter stability as well as excellent grip.

G/FORE G/Drive Golf Shoes

Golf shoe styling has moved on a lot in recent times. From particularly traditional designs to new sporty shoes that boast a lot of flair, manufacturers are constantly breaking the mold, designing stylish and eye-catching shoes. And that epitomizes the work that G/Fore do, with their G/Drive golf shoe being a fine example of how the brand have blended sleek designs with modern and unique styling.  

The G/Drive boasts a spikeless sole and also comes with a cable BOA lacing system. As you can see from the images, this consists of two dials that sit to the side of the tongue that you can loosen and tighten to suit your preferred fit. These are perhaps one of the best BOA golf shoes on the market right now and I was impressed by how well they helped pull the top of the shoe onto my feet for a snug but very comfortable fit. Just as you'd find with the BOA lacing system on some of the  best FootJoy golf shoes , the dials were easy to use and also add to the premium look of the shoe. 

The blue and white ‘Twilight’ version we tested on the golf course combines a fairly traditional color combination with some ultra modern flashes, like the large heel area and the trademark G/FORE skull and crossbones branding on the tongue. One final thing worth pointing out is, having heard that G/FORE shoes can come up a little snug, we'd recommend going half a size up from normal.

FootJoy HyperFlex BOA Shoe

We love both the BOA and laced versions of this shoe, we included it in our guide on the best golf shoes for walking because underfoot it feels incredibly soft and during our testing it performed at such a high level over some long days at the golf course. There is more than enough grip too thanks to the seven strategically placed cleats.

As far as which model to go for, this is all about personal preference. The Wrapid fastening system in the BOA gives an excellent fit but so does the laced option for those who want more of a traditional look. Finally the looks are very modern and almost trainer-like which we definitely are a fan of. The colors FootJoy have gone for are very good too.

Puma Ignite NXT Shoes

When we tested the Ignite NXT golf shoes from Puma there were lots of things we liked. For starters we found it to be supremely comfortable, the grip and stability were both excellent despite being such a lightweight shoe and the price tag offered good value. It is one of the few BOA options in the Puma golf shoe range but it has a premium feel with the BOA dial being located on the top of the shoes tongue, making it very easy to adjust when you're on the course. 

These shoes are built from the ground up using Puma’s Pro-Form TPU outsole with an organically-altered traction pattern, featuring over 100 strategically placed directional hexagon lugs for maximum stability and traction. The contemporary and sporty look really jumps off the shelf and thanks to the sneaker's Soleshield, they are extremely easy to clean as well. Finally, we think the looks are a big plus point because they can be used both on and off the golf course. Overall it is an excellent, versatile, lightweight summer shoe that will suit those seeking comfort and a street/sporty look.

Our golf shoe testing methodology revolves around putting models to the test over a number of rounds and in different conditions. This is so we can gain a better idea of overall performance in terms of factors like grip comfort, grip, stability, waterproofing and how they actually look on the golf course. The shoes listed above have been personally used by a member of the Golf Monthly team, while our writer Dan Parker  heads up all golf shoe testing on the site.

This is the best way of testing a golf shoe, as using it in the real world over a number of rounds allows us to see how they perform when variables change like weather, ground conditions, different stances, lies, and so on. We think this also gives us information on the little details as well. For example, our testing process allows us to see which brands come up small or large, which models start to rub a bit too much after 36 holes, and which designs can be used away from the golf course or for the drive home. We are very rigorous in our testing process to the point where we will regularly attend product launches and meet with the manufacturer’s R&D experts to understand the new technology. That isn't to say manufacturers can buy a good review though, as all our reviews are made by golfers, for golfers. 

How to choose the best golf shoe

The golf shoe market features a ton of high-tech options that can sometimes make picking the right shoe quite an overwhelming decision. If you're new to golf or if you're a single-figure handicapper, there are some things that we all need to consider when picking out our next pair of golf shoes. For that reason, we've put together below a list of the key things to consider when purchasing your next golf shoe. 

1. Spiked or spikeless?

Perhaps one of the most important considerations you need to make when purchasing your next pair of golf shoes is whether they have spikes (or cleats) on thier soles. Spiked shoes offer greater grip and stability and can be used in all weathers. But they are perhaps better suited to wet weather and colder climates when the ground is a little softer underfoot. If you're looking to improve your connection with the ground as you rip through your shots then spiked shoes are the way forward. 

But if you plan on playing primarily through the summer months, spikeless golf shoes are perhaps a slightly better bet. While they don't have cleats on their soles, spikeless shoes will typically have rubber teeth or a very grippy sole that gives golfers ample grip on harder, dryer terrain. For that reason, spikeless shoes are also more lightweight and offer greater breathability than a spiked shoe. Many of the spikeless shoes featured above feature cushioned rubber soles that give you spongy underfoot support. Plus they offer more versatility away from the course, with golfers able to wear these shoes on carpets inside the clubhouse.

2. Waterproofing

An essential feature that any good golf shoe should have is waterproofing. You never know when the rain could strike and there's nothing worse than having soaking wet feet while you're on the course. If you live in a warmer, dryer environment, you might consider other factors on this list more significant, but if you live in a colder, wetter climate, then having waterproof shoes is invaluable. 

Some players choose to wear a waterproof pair in winter and a lighter pair of shoes for summer. But one other important thing to factor in when purchasing a golf shoe is how easy your shoes are to clean. Sometimes breathable fabrics can be a lot more difficult to wipe down than a synthetic material or leather. 

The average golfer walks between three and six miles during a round of golf. That means you can be stood on your feet for as much as five hours and for that reason, you need to protect your feet and give them as much support as possible to reduce the risk of fatigue and the amount of stress going through your feet. 

For that reason, it is imperative that you purchase a golf shoe that is both comfortable and gives added support to your feet while you walk. You should bear in mind also that when you purchase a pair of supportive shoes, you are not just protecting your feet but are also protecting your knees, hips and lower back from stress-related injuries. 

Plus if you already have an injury to any of these body parts, you should look to buy a shoe that has a spongey yet supple sole that cushions your step while you walk. You may also want to consider purchasing shoes that give you greater heel support too to reduce the stress traveling up your achillies while you walk. That can also prevent you from turning over on your ankles as you traverse the undulating fairways of your local golf club. 

One final thing to note is that golf shoes can sometimes sacrifice comfort and stability for performance-enhancing features to help you get more distance on your shots. That's why we recommend always trying out a shoe in your local club shop before you buy it. That way, you'll get a better idea of the feel and comfort the shoe provides. 

4. Getting the right fit

Along with support and comfort, you also need to get the right fit. If you purchase shoes that are too tight, you'll find you'll quickly develop blisters on your heel and on your big toe. But if you purchase a shoe that is too loose, you'll struggle to feel well connected to the shoe and therefore to the ground which will prevent you from playing good and powerful golf shots. 

For that reason, it is always important to try on a pair of shoes before you buy them and we have a couple of tips you need to bear in mind when doing that. When trying on a new pair of golf shoes, listen for the 'whoosh' sound when you slide your feet in. That is the sound of the air leaving the shoe, showing that it is the right size. On top of that, you need to do a walking test to ensure your feet aren't too restricted but are snug inside the shoe. 

Another tip is to try on the shoes with the type of socks that you intend to wear them with. If you're buying a pair of spiked shoes for winter wear, you may want to wear a slightly thicker sock to your fitting session than you would if you're buying a spikeless shoe for summer wear. The better the fit, the more control and power you are able to generate in your golf swing and that means you'll be more confident when addressing the golf ball. 

Obviously, style is perhaps one of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a pair of golf shoes. While brands have started to innovate with the technology involved in the golf shoes, they have also modernized some of the styles you see in golf shoes currently on the market. 

But that doesn't mean that they have neglected more traditional styles of golf shoe, with many brands producing classic styles that still look very trendy on the golf course. Whatever your style, there is something for everyone these days. Khimki is part of the Moscow conurbation, on the banks of the Moscow channel and the Klyazma river, and one of the highest density rate in the region.

Before the city, there were several noble lands, which villages are still exist. During the late 19th century, the site of Khimki station became (and remains) the place of Muscovite dachas. Khimki was granted city status, and the Stariye Khimki development was completed. Since then, development programs have turned the countryside into an important city in the region.

Today, Khimki is not only a residential district, but also an important economic and trade center of the Moscow conurbation.

Since Khimki is close to Moscow, has very high population density and a lot of development projects, the city is under blockade by Moscow to protect the capital's transport infrastructure from the flood of people and vehicles migrating in and out every day. There are no ways of comfortable and fast way to get the city.

Khimki is accessible by car via Leningradsky Hwy from Moscow. The part of this highway from Moscow till end of Khimki city limits is the busiest road in Russia.

By public transport [ edit ]

By suburban train from Leningradskii station to Khimki station or Levoberegnaya platform (a district on the left bank of Moscow channel).

A lot of buses and marshrutkas run from Rechnoy Vokzal metro station, at the north end of the Green Line. You can also reach Khimki by marshrutka, bus or trolleybus from Planernaya metro station.

Khimki is a city located in Moscow Oblast, Russia, which is situated about 23 kilometers northwest of Moscow. Cam'ron Explains Wild Interview: 'You Call Me on CNN for the Bullsh*t, I'm Gonna Give You the Bullsh*t'

The Harlem rap legend stated CNN or any major news outlet never reaches out to have him or Mase speak on the positive things they do in their communities.

Cam'ron  has given an explanation for  his viral appearance on CNN , where he was asked about  the graphic video of Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie . 

On the latest episode of  It Is What It Is , Cam addressed what happened in his CNN interview with Abby Phillip, which made headlines on social media. People online criticized Cam for his appearance, feeling he was being unprofessional by taking a sip of his PinkHorsePower supplement and admitting he was going to have sex after the interview while also refusing to go into detail about Diddy's situation.

According to the Harlem native, CNN didn't invite him to speak on any of the positive things he or Mase does for their community and instead would rather have him speak on issues that he really has nothing to do with. He stated that they have a successful podcast that airs five times a week, in addition to Mase speaking to the youth about chasing their dreams, but in CNN's eyes, they're a better fit to speak on negative issues.  

"We do all these positive things, and you call me on CNN for the bullshit, I'm gonna give you the bullshit. That's just what's gonna happen," Cam said before explaining that everything Phillips asked him was self-explanatory while admitting he was upset he didn't get to promote more of his products.

"I got us some free promo, I didn't get to shout out the Dipset Couture. Make sure you go online to DipsetCouture.us and order some shirts and everything else, but yeah, I just felt that you tried to use me, pause, to whatever Diddy going through to down him and listen, the video, I don't support it, I don't believe in domestic violence, I don't believe in anything that has to do with being a pedophile. I don't believe in sex trafficking. I think what I seen the video is egregious, and the charges are fucked up. They really fucked up."

Despite his feelings about the video, Cam stood by his actions and claimed CNN should've known better, citing his viral appearances on  60 Minutes  and  The O'Reilly Factor .  

"But n***a, I said what I said. I gave a disclaimer at the beginning, and we got on the commercial. That was that so that's how that went yesterday," Cam said. "I don't know why they didn't watch 60 Minutes . They ain't watch Bill O'Reilly . This is what I do in those joints, pause. Y'all be inviting me to Fox, CNN, 60 Minutes y'all already know what the résumé is with them shows with me."

He added, "What I really want to focus on cause I know we play and joke a lot, but y'all call us up there for that but don't invite us to talk about shit that's positive. It's cool y'all call me like this. We did this in less than 24 hours. You could have called us up for a bunch of positive different things that we do, but you want to play games, and that's what you got. That's just what it is. I don't think we were playing games I just went up there to promote all the different things we got going on."

Jemele Hill hopped on X to offer a response to Cam's explanation behind the interview and claim that "something ain't adding up." According to Hill, CNN producers usually tell their guests what they're going to talk about and the type of questions that'll be asked. If the person is new, a "pre-interview" would be conducted.

"So either 1) a producer didn’t tell him or his team what kind of questions he would be asked or 2) a producer told him or someone on his team and he purposely decided to use this opportunity as a publicity stunt anyway … or someone in his camp didn’t tell him what he was being asked," she wrote. "And I’m betting that if someone in his camp didn’t tell him what he would be asked, they’re not going to admit that they messed up. Also, if a producer not being on their job led to this, today is going to be a tough day for that person."

Before every single appearance, a producer tells me or someone on my team what my segment is about and the types of questions that I’ll be asked. How Jennifer Lopez’s co-star Simu Liu defended her after bold Ben Affleck breakup question

Simu Liu is sticking up for Jennifer Lopez.

The actor defended his “Atlas” co-star on Wednesday when a bold reporter asked Lopez point blank about split speculation surrounding her and husband Ben Affleck .

After the Grammy nominee, 54, said that the reporter should “know better than that,” Liu also chided the individual.

“OK, we’re not doing that,” the 35-year-old said. “Thank you so much guys, really appreciate it. C’mon. Don’t come in here with that energy, please.”

Liu went on to sing Lopez’s praises during the Netflix movie’s press tour with Sterling K. Brown.

The “Barbie” star even made sure to end the press conference “on one thing” — Lopez’s producer role in the film.

“The reason why I’m here and the reason why Sterling was in this beautiful movie is because Jen cares,” he gushed.

“Jen cares about things like representation and diversity,” Liu continued. “She’s a boss and she’s an incredible creative and an icon and that’s what I think we should celebrate her for today.”

The action movie begins streaming on Friday, with Lopez making headlines all week for Affleck’s absence at both the Hollywood and Mexico City premieres .

The couple wed in July 2022 and have been hit with divorce rumors while living separately .

Affleck, who we hear has been house-hunting in Los Angeles , has “come to his senses” about his “fever dream” marriage , a source told Page Six Monday.

While the couple have yet to address the chatter, they have put on a united front and continued wearing their wedding rings — for the most part .

Lopez did, however, recently “like” a pointed Instagram post about being in a relationship with someone who “is disconnected from themselves.”

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer has tied the knot three other times , marrying Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony in 1997, 2001 and 2004, respectively.

Affleck, for his part, finalized his divorce from Jennifer Garner in 2018, nearly 10 years after their nuptials.
