Tomb Mold and Horrendous Announce 2024 North American Tour

T oronto death metal trio Tomb Mold and Philadelphia death metal quartet Horrendous are joining together for a North American tour this summer. Dubbed the Enraptured by Fate’s Tangled Thread Tour, it begins on July 4 in Toronto, Ontario, and lasts on through to the end of the month, concluding in Brooklyn on July 27. See Tomb Mold’s complete list of tour dates, which includes stops at Sled Island and Austin Death Fest, below.

“Ever since an all-too-brief weekend stint of live shows in 2018 with the masterminds behind Tomb Mold, we’ve dreamed of uniting forces for something greater,” Horrendous said in a statement. “Six years later, the time has finally arrived!”

Both Tomb Mold and Horrendous are coming off of standout albums from last year. Ontological Mysterium , Horrendous’ fifth full-length, was released last August, while Tomb Mold’s The Enduring Spirit , their ambitious fourth LP, dropped that following month.

Tomb Mold and Horrendous Plot Summer North American Tour

They'll pummel Toronto and Montreal in July

Tomb Mold and Horrendous are joining innovative death metal forces for a North American summer tour behind their respective 2023 releases, The Enduring Spirit — one of Exclaim!'s 50 Best Albums of the year — and Ontological Mysterium .

"Ever since an all-too-brief weekend stint of live shows in 2018 with the masterminds behind Tomb Mold, we've dreamed of uniting forces for something greater," Horrendous said. "Six years later, the time has finally arrived!"

The run kicks off in Tomb Mold's hometown with a Toronto show at Lee's Palace on July 4, followed by another Canadian gig at Montreal's FouFounes Electriques on July 5. Dubbed the Enraptured by Fate's Entangled Thread tour, the remainder of the dates will take place stateside throughout July, wrapping up on July 27 in Brooklyn, NY.

Notably, Tomb Mold are also playing Toronto in June as part of Prepare the Ground and will make another Canadian festival appearance at Calgary's Sled Island . Tickets for their tour with Horrendous go on sale tomorrow (April 26) at 10 a.m. local.

Ontario death metal outfit TOMB MOLD today announces a massive live assault this July.

In the wake of detecting a problem and violently rebooting at the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in Philadelphia, TOMB MOLD will head to Texas this weekend to play at the inaugural Austin Deathfest. On June 1st, they will take part in the inaugural multi-venue Prepare The Ground Fest in their hometown of Toronto, and June 19th will see them performing at the diverse annual Sled Island in Calgary.

Announced today, the Enraptured By Fate’s Tangled Thread Tour will see TOMB MOLD crushing through cities across North America, joined by their allies in Horrendous, for three weeks, the trek beginning in Tomb Mold’s hometown of Toronto on July 4th, ending in Brooklyn on July 27th. After releasing three albums in three years and then spending the next four years in the wilderness, TOMB MOLD has been reborn on their fourth album, The Enduring Spirit , a thoroughly unabashed step into vast new territories. Yet for all its frenetic daring and audacious exploration, The Enduring Spirit is never anything other than unmistakably TOMB MOLD . The album overwhelmed year-end lists as one of 2023’s most acclaimed albums with media and fans alike, including a cover feature for the esteemed Decibel Magazine. A band with boundless creative energy, as TOMB MOLD is, was certain to expand the scope of their vision, and on The Enduring Spirit they’ve shaped a record with a cinematic environment that offers unlimited avenues of exploration, both for themselves and the listener.

The Enduring Spirit was recorded at Boxcar Sound Recording by Sean Pearson (Tomb Mold, Dream Unending), and mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (Tomb Mold, Dream Unending, Kommand, Gravesend, Power Trip). The album’s artwork was handled by Jesse Jacobi who was also responsible for the Planetary Clairvoyance artwork, with additional artwork by Karmazid, layout and design by Chimère Noire, and photography by Colin Medley.

Following two crushing release shows for the album, TOMB MOLD was just announced as headliners of the inaugural Austin Death Fest in Austin, Texas on April 27th and 28th alongside Mortiferum, Outer Heaven, and Phobophilic, with the full lineup to be announced shortly. Metalheads everywhere are still having a hard time deciding whether to crown Ontological Mysterium or The Enduring Spirit as the best album of 2023. They don’t have to choose any longer, because Horrendous are going on tour with Tomb Mold .

Let your chariots ride this summer with two of this generation’s most celebrated death metal bands. The tour starts in Tomb Mold’s native cavern of Toronto before blazing into Horrendous’ hometown of Philadelphia. From there, these kindred spirits will crush their way down the East Coast before spinning heads during a final transcendent performance in Brooklyn, New York.

Johnny Marr and James Announce Joint North American Tour

Johnny Marr and James have announced a joint tour of North America, starting at the end of summer. The coast-to-coast run takes in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and more than a dozen other cities. Check out the dates below.

Marr and his fellow Mancunians first toured together in 1985, when James supported the Smiths on the Meat Is Murder tour. In a press release, Marr recalled of that tour, “We admired them and even did one of their songs in our set. I’ve been a fan of theirs ever since and being out on tour again after 40 years is a really great thing.”

James’ Tim Booth said of the 1985 shows, “We were met with such generosity and kindness that it changed our DNA. Co-headlining an American tour with the true Gent and genius that is Johnny Marr, is an honor and pleasure. We look forward to making magic together.”
