Originally posted by Kelban : thanks yea I was looking for the monthly not lifetime. $300 not worth it to me at this point since i'm just starting and not sure how long ill play
Originally posted by The Arkady : Truth is though, unless you're an altaholic that really benefits from bonus stuff across many characters, it might be a bit late in STO's lifecycle to be worth LTS anymore, even at sale prices.

Gold Members are players who have elected to subscribe or continue subscribing to Star Trek Online. The Features Matrix describes these differences in more detail. Q: How do I become a Gold Member? If you choose to subscribe or continue subscribing to Star Trek Online, you automatically become a Gold Member.
I read about gold membership but I cant seem to find out how to get it. Did it go away or am I just unable to find? You go to the Perfect World page and follow the links.

Gold costs $15 USD per month, but you get a free month with a retail box copy of the game, which is often cheaper. Most benefits are retroactive, meaning even if you're max level, you'll receive the benefit as if you'd been paying since level 1.
Starting June 6th at 8am PT - June 8th at 10am PT, the Star Trek Online Lifetime Subscription will be 50% off on all platforms! Then, June 8th at 10am PT to July 11th at 12pm PT , the subscriptions will still be on sale, bringing the price down by $100 to $199.99 on PC, and discounting the Subscription by 33% on Console!

Lifetime (gold) membership - is it worth it. Just started to play STO, and I’m delighted as a Trekkie, that I always was. Question: I read about the lifetime membership, which costs almost 300,- Euro.
If you like the game, the lifetime account has a number of perks that I find valuable (auto-dil refining, monthly stipend, unique ships). Gold membership has value in some of its perks, but you can buy the options in the zenstore for less (IMO) - a bank cap expansion is a MUST HAVE.
