History of Tri-State Lacrosse

Tri-State Lacrosse was founded in 1989 by Bob and Margaret Turco. Coach Turco had already been running junior lacrosse programs and coaching at the high school level for years when his eldest son, Ross (now Tri-State director) entered Ridgewood High School. The team was filled with many highly talented players and it was clear that there was a need for more opportunities outside of the high school season. Thus began the first club lacrosse programming in the Tri-State area. Decades later, Tri-State Lacrosse is still a family owned and operated business. Tri-State Lacrosse has coached countless High School & College All-Americans and program offerings have expanded to include a nationally recognized all-star program, high level camps & clinics and top level tournaments.

At the core of the Tri-State philosophy is a growth mindset. The “One Goal” mantra shows Tri-State athletes the path within this mindset. “One Goal” is an individual and group mindset of breaking down large, seemingly unattainable tasks into smaller, more attainable tasks. The mindset teaches resiliency, discipline, and focused energy. The “One Goal” huddle break refocuses the individual and the team on the steps it takes to be a champion in sport and in life. It was first used by Tri-State founder Bob Turco with the Ridgewood High School Hall of Fame boys lacrosse team in 1990. The team went on to win forty-four straight games (the second longest in NJ HS History) and capture two state championships from 1990-1992.

We are very proud of our Riot players who have the desire, disclipine, and skill to continue their lacrosse career in a collegiate setting.  We assist our high school players in receiving optimized exposure to college recruiters by having them work with our Director of Recruiting, placing their highlight videos on our YouTube Channel, and hosting multiple boutique Prospect Day events with the attendance of prominent Division 1, 2, and 3 lacrosse college recruiting staff.

Riot® Lacrosse was conceived by forward-thinking lacrosse parents who have lived in the trenches of the game since their boys were little.  With years of experience under their belt, they were determined to create a new organization: one that encompassed all the positive aspects of prior organizations and one that eliminated the negative aspects. The Riot Lacrosse goal was to change the existing club mentality and “corporate” structure of existing lacrosse organizations. Our mission today remains the same is it was upon our founding: to be a premier organization that focuses on high-level play year-round, creates a fun environment in which players consistently learn, foster a deep love of the game, and a brotherhood.

The founders of Riot Lacrosse share the same vision not only for our children, but for all the boys we have raised in the game over the years, and the young men we intend to raise in the game in the coming years.  We strive to honor the game by not just competing, but teaching as well.

Who is Blue Star Lacrosse?

Based out of Basking Ridge, Westfield & Medford NJ, Blue Star Lacrosse is a leader in the lacrosse industry focused on developing lacrosse players from youth through high school. We run year-round lacrosse training with camps, clinics, box lacrosse, and travel all-star teams. Our All-Star teams are among the most competitive in the country. What separates us is our level of dedication, communication, and ability as teachers of the game that we love!

Teams will have a "home base" and practice out of one location - Basking Ridge/Westfield or Medford.

The youth program will be divided into three local, geographically-based teams to allow younger players to enjoy becoming a part of Blue Star. There will be youth teams based out of Basking Ridge/Westfield and Medford at each grade level. We have broken the teams up geographically with an emphasis on convenience for our families. At this age, building fundamentals and a passion for the game is paramount!!!

Limited mandatory commitment to allow kids to play other sports year round! The only mandatory commitment is the summer season. We also keep driving distances to a minimum to keep it convenient to our parents.

Youth Program Schedule

*Note - Fall, Winter, and Spring programming is optional for players in the youth program. That being said, if you are available to participate in these year-round options we highly encourage you to participate!  Fall -6 All-Star Fall Ball Sessions(Sunday mornings from September to October)  -2-3 Tournaments (October) - bringing teams together, age-dependent! Winter -Blue Star box lacrosse program (November to January)  -Small group Winter training sessions (weeknights from December to February)  Spring -Spring Mini-Camp (March) - mandatory  -2-3 Youth practices (Sunday evenings in April & May)  -Spring All-Star level training (April & May)  Summer - Mandatory!!!! - Summer Mini-Camp (1st weekend of June)  - Minimum of 10 practices (June - July) 2x a week - 3-4 tournaments (June - July) - almost always local such as PA, NJ or DE

Elite Girls Lacrosse New Jersey

Triple threat elite girls lacrosse.

Triple Threat Elite Girls Lacrosse NJ teams are based out of the Somerset and Hunterdon County NJ area. Each team trains and competes on a year-round basis including tournaments, position-specific training, and HS winter league.

Triple Threat Elite teams practice out of the state-of-the-art facility Iron Peak Sports and Events. Learn more about the facility here.

Each athlete receives team practices, position-specific training sessions, and entry into tournaments with a high level of competition and exposure. In addition, Triple Threat Elite athletes will receive a Shake School Player Membership, recruiting tools and expert guidance, and free game film through IWLCARecruits.

Get an Evaluation At Any Triple Threat Elite Lacrosse New Jersey Practice!

We understand that scheduling may be difficult at this time, but we want you to make sure you have a chance to get on the field with us. Every athlete has the opportunity to come to one of our current elite team practices and receive a full evaluation.

Our ID sessions are run in a clinic style where players not only are being evaluated but they are being taught! With a team of coaches evaluating players, we can track players in all areas of the game. Whether you make the team or not we are happy to have a staff member evaluate your daughter and give you appropriate feedback.

Registration Saver

Triple Threat Elite Lacrosse is now able to offer Registration Saver, an AIG insurance product that offers you relief from our “No Refund Policy” (see bottom of page *).

Triple Threat Elite Lacrosse has a “No Refund” policy on registration fees. However, Next Wave Insurance offers Regsaver so you can ensure your non-refundable registration fee in the case injury, illness, or another covered peril occurs. Triple Threat Elite sets player fees from a budgeted amount per team. We are not able to refund families even in cases of injury or job transfers. For more information, please visit: www.registrationsaver.com/triplethreatelite .  Limitations and exclusions apply. Next Wave Insurance, CA License #: OF00755.

In order to help protect your Elite team fees in the event your player suffers a partial or season-ending illness or injury (on or off the field), Triple Threat Elite highly encourages you to purchase Registration Saver insurance. This insurance policy covers your registration investment. The premium cost is 7% of the Elite Team registration fee.

Please note: if you purchase insurance and submit a claim at the time of injury, all Elite team registration fees need to be paid in order to receive a refund as per AIG Insurance policies. If you are on an installment plan, all payments through May, 2020 need to be paid in full. You can still remain on your established Triple Threat Elite payment plan but a claim will not be paid until proof is provided that all Elite team payments have been paid in full.

You may choose to insure your entire Elite team fee or choose a lower total to insure if you prefer, for the corresponding 7% premium (ie $500 of insurance coverage for $35).

Registration Saver Insurance perils covered include:

• Sickness/Injury
• Uninhabitable Residence
• Active Service (Parental/Guardian)
• Pregnancy Complications (Parental/Guardian)
• Job Transfer (Parental/Guardian)
• Felonious Assault

Registration Saver insurance WILL NOT cover pre-existing injuries that occurred prior to the purchase of an insurance policy.

Click on “Apply Now” and select the “Season” policy option. Additional application instructions are below. If something should happen to your player before the Triple Threat Elite team start date and you have purchased the policy, you can obtain a refund of your season fees as long as the policy was paid for prior to injury. (Your injury must be diagnosed by a certified physician and you must show proof of paying full registration fee). If something were to happen to your player during the season, you will receive a pro-rated amount, i.e. if you play 25% of the season and need to file a claim due to injury or illness, you would receive a 75% refund.

All Triple Threat Elite Players will have the opportunity to purchase a participant insurance policy to cover their club fees. NO Refunds will be given for any reason. If a player becomes injured or has a family circumstance that results in the player being unable to continue playing for Triple Threat Elite Lacrosse, the player is still responsible for paying their Elite team fees in full
