we had such a fantastic day thanks to JZ! he planned a well balanced, nice and easy day where we never felt rushed. I was so overwhelmed by the sheer number of wineries in Paso, it was so helpful to have him suggest a few and then just pick the 3 we found most interesting. I would def visit all of them again! JZ offered some historial tidbits along the way and was a most gracious host to our group. highly recommend!

Thanks Erin. You guys were an absolute blast!! It's part of my sober entertainment when I have Paso knowledgeable groups like you guys on a tour! Until next time, enjoy all that great wine you bought! Cheers, and thanks ~ JZ

Our group of six people had an exceptional day of wine tasting with John back in July for my Father's birthday. We visited 3 different wineries in the span of 5 hours. You pay for your tastings upon arrival but John curated the places and reserved our space at the wineries. When I booked with John, I told him what we wanted in our experience and he nailed the wine recommendations and wineries! John was fun, informative and prompt. Cannot recommend his service enough! The van felt like a luxurious treat! We were picked up and dropped back off at our hotel. If you are in the SLO or Paso area and are looking to get an incredible tour of wine country with your small group, you must book with John!

Not only did John provide exceptional service during our drive, he outdid himself overall by making sure to make our experience memorable. Our group had a great time and felt like we received VIP service. He made sure we were taken care of at each winery. From making our reservations to even carrying our bottles to our ride at each winery. John is very thoughtful and accommodating. Not to mention has a great sense of humor which went along way with our group :) John-- from all of us a HUGE THANK YOU!! Another thing our group really enjoyed was John being our paparazzi throughout the trip! We got really great shots from John. When visiting Paso Robles to go wine tasting there is no other choice you should be making, but to book John! We HIGHLY recommend!

Absolutely amazing experience, JZ made our family trip to Paso unforgettable. My family and I went to Paso for a quick trip and used Elite Wine Tours and JZ (owner /our driver) went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. His personality, his humor, his desire to make sure everyone is a having a good time made a great trip even better. The van was clean, the AC was ice cold (just how you need it when in the sun all day) and we could use our phones and hook up to the Aux cord to play our own music. Everything about this company and JZ himself were pure perfection. We loved it so much, my family and I already have another trip planned with them! Highly recommend and encourage you to use them, you will not be disappointed!!

I've used JZs wine tour services several times and every time is a great experience. JZ goes out of his way to give you a great experience and even plans out your wine tour route. He is also very knowledgeable about the wineries and will give any recommendations you may need. He is informative, generous and provides great customer service. I have used other wine tour companies and elite wine tours is the best. The only reason I've used other wine tour services is due to JZ being booked. So plan and reserve ahead of time so you can get the best!

JZ went above and beyond for every aspect of our trip. We are so appreciative of his knowledge of the Paso wine area. He was extremely helpful is arranging all our tastings for our large group. Would definitely use again, everyone had a blast!

Wow- just noticed this Brittany. I really appreciate your kind words! Thanks SO much! So glad your crewe had a great time. You were a super fun group! I look forward to our next wine adventure filled with lots of laughs and great wines! Cheers ~ JZ

This review is for two tours with JZ. The first was two years ago, and the second was last weekend. We enjoyed our time with JZ so much the first time, that we booked him again! Both tours were very different, by design, but that's the type of magic that JZ brings to a trip, and what makes him so good. He can make your tour with him whatever you want it to be. Our first time, we had four wineries planed, but had such a great picnic lunch and an extended stay at Oso Libre (Red Scooter Deli lunch that JZ picked up for us before our tour started) that we ended up skipping our last stop. The flexible, no-pressure approach was lovely and we had a blast. Our most recent experience was a trip we took to Paso with friends, and it was easy to get lost in conversation, and JZ did a phenomenal job of keeping us on schedule so we'd make our next appointment time. He's a pro, and judging by the reception he gets when we arrived anywhere, he's clearly well respected and loved by the community. Would book again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for your support, Zach. Super fun day with you guys, and love the spots you chose! So funny to run into your group at Rangeland the next day- awesome burgers- right? Sorry to be in a rush- was preoccupied with getting a charcuterie/cheese box for clients, who were down the road at Paix Sur Terre- they got hungry before we arrived at Daou for lunch. Hope your visit to Paso was memorable. I've got a list of ideas going for your next adventure. Thanks so much for your patronage and kind review! Cheers ~ JZ

Photo of Mike B.

We actually did not use JZ but wish we could have. When I was referred to Elite from the owner of the AB&B we are renting, I reached out, but JZ was booked already. About a week prior to our arrival, I reached out again to JZ to see, by chance there might have been a cancelation. No luck, but JZ referred me to a couple other similar companies each time I sent a note. He continued to send me more links and referrals and I ended up booking another company that JZ referred to me. My review is based on outstanding service even though we didn't get to use his company. He wanted to help and went out of his way numerous times with suggestions of his competitors. I can't imagine how great his tours are if he is putting so much effort in trying to help us enjoy our time in Paso even though we weren't able to book with him. Next visit, my first call will be to Elite. This time 3 months in advance. Thanks, JZ! M&L

Thanks for your kind words, Mike. Whether people use my service or not, my goal is to be a good ambassador for our region. I enjoy providing ideas and info so people can plan a great visit to Paso! It's been quite entertaining meeting people on the wine trail I've helped, but have never driven. Thanks for your support and choosing Paso! Cheers ~ JZ

spent the day with John on 5/22/2022 and without question it was the highlight our our vacation. in researching the Paso area I found John's company and was interested in the idea that my husband and I could have private transportation and plan the day that we desired. John provided excellent communication from the start and helped us plan a great day. He's very knowledgeable of the Paso region and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend JZ and will definitely use his services again when we return to the area. Thanks again, JZ!

Diamond Wine Tour Experience

diamond-wine-tour-experience-034

Mix and match Diamond, VIP, and Elite experiences to enhance your tour, and discover wine enjoyment like you never imagined!

All tours are tailored to your wine preferences, but feel free to use my encyclopedic knowledge of SLO and SB County wines and wineries gathered over 13+ years and 1,300+ wine tours.

Diamond, VIP, and Elite are my simple way of expressing tour possibilities from a basic Diamond level stand-at-the-bar tasting experience- to unique VIP or Elite upgrades.

Start with Diamonds: Start with diamonds in your glass- the basics included in every tour. Use all my knowledge and great services included in my tours to choose fantastic walk-in regular tastings:

  • Hundreds of high quality wine stops available on-the-fly/day of tour, or planned in advance- I always call ahead to make arrangements so your group is always welcomed
  • You’ll be delighted with the special experiences some wineries include with a regular tasting
  • An average regular tasting stop takes about 45 minutes. Tasting fees average between $8 and $20. Many wineries offset tasting fees with bottle purchase, or wine club membership
  • Food planning – if logistics allow I pick up to-go before your tour at no extra charge. I set up your picnic while you taste. There are also stellar sit-down dining possibilities on your tour if you wish
  • Bottled water and clean tablecloths included
  • Pro-photos capture your day
  • Wine cases are kept tasting room temp in my special cool bags. Wine shipping can be arranged
  • Full concierge and limo style service – wine and packages carried to car, along with all the perks that come with a seasoned limo driver: dinner reservations, logistics coordination, trips to the super market or drug store- you name it and I’m happy to do it
  • Spit cups available- tasting room peeps think you’re pretty cool if you enjoy your wine that way. It’s a great way to avoid a hangover
  • Tasting fees for all experiences you choose are paid directly to the winery. I do not receive kickbacks for hooking up clients with wineries- I’m quite happy with a thank you once in a while, and the strong professional relationship that I’ve built
  • Tasting experiences chosen do not affect the hourly rate of the tour
