Welcome to Fun 2 Dive Manatee Tours where we specialize in five-star small, semi-private, and private manatee snorkeling tours. We are open daily, year-round.

We conduct tours to swim with manatees in the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. Tours are conducted from stable boats with heavy duty ladders, where we enter the water to encounter wild manatees in their natural habitat.

In 1983, the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge was established in Kings Bay to specifically protect the Florida manatees that consider this area their home. King’s Bay is fed by 40 natural springs, which maintain a constant temperature of 72 °F (22 °C) — a temperature that the Manatees love and need.

Ryan and Jessica were great to tour with, extremely knowledgeable, and went out of their way to look for manatees further away from the crowds when possible. We saw several manatees and a few calves with their moms. Fun 2 Dive staff are very friendly and respectful to the environment and the animals which I hope we all learn from in the years to come. They also take excellent photographs, so you can leave your camera at home.

Just went on our first trip out to see the manatees. Captain Jason and guide Bree were amazing and so patient. The knowledge they both shared made the trip magical. If you come to see manatees I would definitely go with Fun 2 Dive. The entire staff was awesome and worked together to ensure we all had great tours and made memories to last a lifetime.

This was worth the money. We visited in the "off season" for manatees and were a little worried we might not find one. However, our guides knew all the best places and we were in the water for over 2 hours within a few feet of them. The equipment provided was like new and we were given helpful instructions on appropriate behavior when interacting with the manatees. We chose the 6 people or less in a group option and I would say the smaller the group had better the experience.

One of the absolute best experiences we’ve ever had. My dive partner Ryan, and our Captain Jason made this trip one of the best we’ve ever done. They are professional, knowledgeable, and absolutely delightful to be with. Even if you’re not swimming & you just stay on the boat to observe it's a fabulous way to spend a few hours. If you’re ever looking for an exceptional Florida adventure, look no further! We’ll be back!

I can honestly say this was my greatest experience to date. Dani was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable searching for manatees. She took great pictures and made sure our group was all accounted for. Captain Ryan, our boat driver, was very informative about the areas and waters. He knew key spots to dive into. Also had a couple laughs along the way. Top notch service!

Great staff, super friendly, great with our kids, very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and more! We had a great experience with them, and were able to be out with the manatees for quite a while. They seem to genuinely love their job. We really enjoyed our time with you! Our family of 5 had our own 6 person boat with Megan and Ryan. They found a mother and calf for us to dive with for almost 2 hours! Plus we hit a crystal clear spring. Awesome service and all their equipment was clean and in great condition. Highly recommend them and we will return with 3 kids aged 10, 8 and 5.

Jake and Evan were awesome. They were great with instructions and making everyone comfortable. They gave a flash drive at the end with amazing pictures for us to remember which they included. Most tours charge extra for this. The best part was the experience though. They definitely know where to go and the best time. We did the early morning but SO worth it. Slowly but surely we were surrounded by the gentle giants. All very safe and it is something we will never forget! Thank you guys! We will tell everyone!

Evan and his team personalized my trip and went out of their way to make my experience perfect. They provided pictures and other unsuspected amenities to make my day memorable- truly a customer-centric mindset. This set them apart from the other companies offering manatee excursions. Most importantly, I would now consider them friends and will visit them again soon.

We went out with Evan & Jake last week and had a FABULOUS experience! There were 5 in our group (age range 16 - 80) so we were able to rent the whole boat and have a private tour. We lucked out and hit the jackpot in terms of seeing lots of manatees. We were nervous because we weren't able to go out until the 10:15 tour (due to having to drive a distance first), but Evan knew right where to take us and we saw lots of manatees - even an adult and nursing youngster! Evan drove the boat and kept my mother-in-law company (who chose not to swim). Evan shared lots of interesting information with her while Jake hopped in the water with the rest of us. He gave us lots of tips and took pictures. At the end of the tour they gave us a thumb drive with the pictures - included in the price! Evan & Jake are very personable and made it a fun tour four all 5 of us. They are clearly knowledgeable about the area and the manatees and shared lots of interesting information. Their smaller tours are definitely the way to go!

An experience we will never forget! These guys were full of information and got us up close to many different manatees including a mother and calf. They were able to find them away from other groups which was great because it can get a little crowded in places. The guide in the water (and one watching from the boat) was tremendously helpful to spot the manatees and get us right to them. The benefit of having a photographer taking photos in the water is priceless! We have these awesome pictures to look back anytime we want! To top the trip off, we found some dolphins and followed them around and watched them feeding. Recommend these guys 100%! Fyi… they were with another top rated company and went out on their own. I called the other company, they were booked, and they recommended these guys and I’m so glad they did.

This was probably one of my favorite life experiences! We got really lucky with the weather and due to a last minute cancellation, it was just 3 of us with Hina as our guide and Carlos as our captain. We were able to see around 6 manatees, including two pairs of moms with babies. Hina is really knowledgeable and told us lots of great info such as how we could tell that one of the babies was adopted by another momma manatee. She also got great photos for us! I recommend getting an early morning tour, it’s rough waking up but worth the sunrise and the experience! Hina and Carlos did a great job of making it a fantastic morning!

We had a great time on our swim with the Manatees! We liked that the Nature Discovery boats take out smaller groups. Once we got to the springs, there were quite a few other boat and people, but being on a smaller tour gave us more individual attention from our guide and boat Caption. We got to see and swim along side many Manatees. They are super big, and being next to them is an amazing experience. We were provided with wet suits, masks, and snorkels. The equipment was in Excellent condition. The store front where we changed was clean, and they have a cute gift shop. I love that the guide took photos of the experience. I would definitely recommend Nature’s Discovery Manatee Tours!!

For over 20 years, I've wanted to swim with the Manatees. When you've built something up for that long, it has the potential to not live up to expectations. Thankfully for me, it was amazing. The staff made sure it was everything I'd hoped for. They were super friendly. Explained clearly both expectations and what was included. Ample pictures were taken, and a real effort was made to take multiple "$ shots". They were also dog friendly which was huge for us. I loved my experience and will definitely use them again if we ever come back to Crystal River. I really loved Hina, our guide.

Fun 2 Dive offers world class tours to snorkel with manatees in their natural habitat. Come join us on this amazing adventure that is only available in Crystal River, Florida. Over the last 25 years thousands of people from all over the world have joined Fun 2 Dive for this unique adventure that takes place within the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. Tours are conducted daily, year round. Reservations can be made online from our website. Our decades of guiding visitors on this adventure have allowed us to perfect our trips. Our groups are small and each group has it own personal in-water guide who will be right by your side every step of the way. Even though our boats are designed to accommodate more passengers, the maximum number of people that we take on a tour is limited to no more than 6 per boat. I had an amazing experience today snorkeling with the manatees! I'm still somewhat of a new Floridian resident, and this has been on my to-do list for some time now. This was my first time snorkeling and my first time swimming with aquatic life. Fun 2 Dive made this an amazing experience for us. I went snorkeling today with my group Outdoor Afro. Apparently Jan is the best month to do this due to the cold weather. The manatees tend to migrate to this area of Crystal River due to its warmth. The water stays around 72 degrees. Today was definitely a perfect day for snorkeling because the temp outside at 7:30am was 40 degrees. We were SURROUNDED by manatees! It was so awesome! Our guide Captain Storm was very knowledgeable, provided great instruction and guidance, and was very patient with our group. We all were provided with a wet suit, snorkel mask, and foam noodle for the activity. Cap Storm guided us to the more populated areas and took great photos and videos for us! When we finished snorkeling and boarded back onto the boat we were treated with hot tea and hot cocoa. I definitely recommend booking a snorkeling trip with this company. They were very professional and ensured that we had a great time. Photos/video are available to purchase for around $45. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid people traffic in the water. The less people, the more manatees!

Our guide Crystal was amazing and so was our captain. We found a couple of manatees near the 3 sisters springs. Then went into the springs and it was pure magical! What an amazing experience. The staff are all amazing folks and really want you to have a great time.

These guys are so nice and friendly and knowledgeable. I had a tiny issue with photos and they fixed it in less than 5 min over the phone. Thank you Fun 2 Dive! The dive was great too and we got to see some lovely manatees. Cute gift shop too!

Our guides were amazing!! Crystal and Gavin are pros and led us to like 5 different manatees.

Your worker who separated, mama from baby, should be in jail! It's illegal and immoral!

Not even giving a 1 star review after seeing their video where the guide separated a mom and baby manatee. First, that is a violation of the law and 2) its morally wrong.

Yall harass babies WITH THE MOM and violate FL law. You disrupt their habits and are a nuisance to them for a profit. Shameful. We all saw it.

Tour guide had explosive diarrhea and also held the baby manatee hostage from its mother.

If you're going to do a Manatee tour, go in February and book it HERE!!! We came for the first time in 2020 (also in February,) and our first experience was awesome. We raved about it and told everyone that they needed to do it should they ever visit Florida. So when we found out that we would be here again in February for a wedding, we knew we had to bring our kids!!! We got SO lucky with Captain Dylan & our guide Jessica. We had THE best team. Dylan operated a drone to check the area and find them & Jessica was in the water helping all of us get THE closest encounters I could have hoped for! We saw at least 5 manatees and got up close noses and some accidental "manatee rides" which happens if they come up for air and you're above them. Our group this time was incredible as well. Everyone was very respectful of the manatees and other snorklers. I have to say that Jessica went above and BEYOND in my opinion. She made sure we got close ENOUGH without getting too close, helped the kids (especially my son... constantly!) with their masks and with positioning us so we had the best views and couos just freeze. I cannot say enough about our experience today. Absolutely TOP Notch. Thank you SO much Jessica and Dylan!

If swimming with manatees is on your bucket list, Fun 2 Dive can help to make it happen. It felt like we chose the coldest day of the year because it was 37 degrees when we went out in the morning. We booked our trip a couple weeks in advance and decided to go first thing in the morning based on what we'd read about the springs. We filled out our waivers and watched the recommended video ahead of time so we had a pretty good idea of what to expect. We checked in and directed to restrooms & coffee and tea while we waited. When it was time for our trip we were greeted by Kaylee (guide) and we were given wetsuits to put over our swimwear. They have an area with small changing cubbies with curtains that you can use for privacy when donning your wetsuit. We changed and put our clothes in the car as we were warned that anything on the boat would get wet. Because it was so cold we all wore coats and brought towels for after. Then we got on the bus to the dock and we met Dylan (boat captain) and all got comfortable for the ride. We rode around for a bit and saw a couple manatees but there were other boats around them so we continued to look for more. Dylan pulled out the drone and found some in a small lagoon out of the way so he pulled the boat in and we all got out. We followed Kaylee through the water but it was challenging to keep up with her while balancing on the pool noodle and remembering not to kick too much or touch the bottom. We immediately saw a manatee upon entering and even saw a mom and baby swim by. We were in the water with 4 manatees during our trip. It was awesome seeing them in their natural habitat while just going about their normal day~ swimming, eating, sleeping, and coming up to the surface to breathe. It was amazing and a trip that we won't forget. Before we knew it, it was time to head back. We all hopped on the boat and dried off as Dylan offered hot beverages which we were glad to see. The boat returned to dock and we were shuttled back to Fun2Dive where we changed into dry clothes to prepare for the ride home. Couple items to note: Knowledge: ask any questions you may have. Kaylee and Dylan were very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We learned so much about the area and the manatees. Timing: the approximate 3 hour trip is your total tour time from when greeted by your guide to arriving back at Fun2Dive. You're not in the water with manatees for that amount. Real time in the water was less than an hour. People: we booked the semi private swim (max 6) for the 4 of us and another group of 2 was on the boat too. Next time we will book a private swim. With more people in the water and everyone jockeying to see the manatee, it was tough. My husband and I stayed back further from the manatees because we wanted our kids to be able to get close. Restroom: they have 2. Use them after checking in and definitely before putting on your wetsuit. There was a restroom at the dock but will only lessen amount of time in the water. Photos: While in the water Kaylee took photos that were available for purchase ($45) We had a GoPro so we didn't purchase them. Gratuity: they have an atm but I'd recommend bringing cash so you don't have to worry about that after your swim. Shop: they have an awesome selection of manatee stuff and goodies to commemorate your swim. We enjoyed looking at everything while waiting for our trip.

About This Experience

When it comes to taking a manatee tour, there’s no place better than Crystal River Watersports in Crystal River, Florida. Get the chance to experience these gentle creatures in the only place where you can legally swim with manatees! Beyond the manatees, our incredible location on Florida’s Nature Coast provides the opportunity for a scenic nature cruise down the Indian River to the Crystal River. There is the opportunity to see a lot of wildlife including dolphins, river otters, bald eagles and many other birds. Once non-resting manatees are found, you enter the water to snorkel with them. Time permitting you may have the chance to also snorkel in one of our nearby beautiful springs – a beautiful natural area with crystal clear water.

We limit the number of guests to 10 per boat so that everyone has a semi-private experience with our knowledgeable Captains/Guides and with the manatees. We also provide all of your in-water gear (masks, snorkels, snorkeling vest and wetsuit).

• Crystal River Watersports is a proud member of the Save the Manatee Club Guardian Guide Program , promoting responsible ecotourism.
• There will be no more than 10 guests on the boat with the staff to ensure your semi-private experience.

Our captains and I have been conducting  Manatee Snorkel and Swim Tours   in the   Crystal River Refuge and Homosassa River   Florida every day for over 19 years. Our most popular manatee tour is three to three and a half hours long, from start to finish except for our All-Day Private Tours. We try to keep you in the water upwards to an hour and a half, although we or anybody else cannot guarantee how long you're with the manatees for they are free roaming, but we do our best. The  "Swim with Manatee Tours"     are conducted in a educational and instructional manor, to ensure the best encounter for the manatees and your family. We are also permitted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service  (permit # 09038)  to conduct the manatee tours in   Crystal River and Homosassa River   daily. During the winter months, hundreds of manatees head to our bays to warm up and escape the colder temperatures throughout the Gulf of Mexico. Which months are best for seeing manatees?

The peak season for observing manatees is November through April, and the local manatee population swells to its largest size between December and February. You can spot manatees in our waterways all year round, but the population is much smaller during the summer months.

What time of day is best for swimming with manatees?

When planning your trip, consider visiting the springs in the early morning and during the middle of the week. Local springs will be less crowded on weekdays and the manatees are most active and playful in the mornings.

Where can you go to see manatees?

Manatees typically live and play near the warm waters of natural springs. Three Sisters Springs and Homosassa Springs are two of the best places to find manatees. Local tour operators and nature guides provide a variety of options for experiencing these awesome sea creatures. Can you touch the manatees?

We’re so glad you asked! Thanks to our community's commitment to the health and safety of our large manatee population, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service encourages passive observation, which means not initiating contact with manatees and calmly observing from a distance and at the surface. Visitors must NOT approach a resting or feeding manatee, chase a manatee, kick/splash/poke a manatee, or touch a manatee.  For more information, we recommend watching the US Fish and Wildlife video Manatee Manners for a complete overview of the legal guidelines. If you head out on a swimming tour, then your guide will also share all the do’s and don’ts for interacting with these precious creatures. Swimmers and divers should minimize noise, avoid splashing, and make slow, deliberate movements. Manatees are very curious and social and they will frequently approach humans in the water. 

Can you see manatees without getting in the water?

There are many ways to meet manatees without taking a swim. You can view manatees at the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park , which serves as a refuge for rehabilitating captive-born manatees and helping them return to the wild. The park’s daily educational programs are open to the public. Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge is another location where you can observe manatees by land. You may also find a local tour guide to set up a boat tour, kayak tour, or paddleboarding trip.

No License Needed, Free Ice, Water and Scallop Cleaning   Manatee Tour & Dive conducts snorkeling tours year around at 7:30am,10:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm and 2:00pm.   Senior & Group discounts available!

 Cancellation Policy We require 48 hours notification for parties of  if you wish to cancel a tour.  This is consistent with airline, car rental agency and hotel policies.  If you have reserved a tour for a group of 10 or more, we require a 3-week cancellation notice.  We will not refund short-notice cancellations.  We pre-charge all credit card reservations for the cost of the tour.  We have always required a credit card to hold a reservation.  Unfortunately, we have had a lot of people reserve spots on a tour and then not show up.  We make a commitment to you, who often travel long distances to get here, that you will have a seat on one of our boats.  We need the same commitment from you that you will arrive and be on time.  Otherwise, we needlessly disappoint someone else who would have liked your space(s) on the tour and / or we pay a Captain that we did not need.  This cancellation policy is to give us time to re-sell any seats left vacant and helps us keep our prices reasonable for you.  Thank you for understanding.

TOUR CANCELLATION In order to ensure all of our customer's satisfaction and to be fair, our cancellation policy for our tours/activities is within 7 days after booking is made. If you need to cancel, and it is more than 7 days after the booking date, you will receive a rain check, which has no expiration date. If Manatee Tour and Dive needs to  cancel due to weather, you will also receive a rain check, with has no expiration date.

How to Explore the Great Outdoors in Crystal River, FL

Crystal River is The Manatee Capital of the World, but did you know the area also offers a plethora of other outdoor adventures?

This was a stop on our Weird and Wild RV adventure through Florida and it’s definitely a place I intend to spend a bit more time. I wasn’t able to get out in a kayak on the Chaz River so I need to make that happen soon!

I did, however, explore a lot of the great outdoors here and I think you’ll see why a return visit is on my list.

Seriously, this area is perfect for those that love playing in and out of the water.

King’s Bay in Crystal River is fed by more than 50 springs, which creates an environment that Manatees love.

Aside from King’s Bay, the Homosassa River and Chassahowitzka River are also hotspots for manatees because of the springs connected to them.

You can get up close and meet these sea cows in person. You can swim with Manatees and watch them eat some water plants such as algae.

The waters are so clear that you can easily spot the gray-colored manatees slowly swimming underwater or just lying on the bottom.

This is the only area in the United States where it’s legal to swim with Manatees. Honestly, this is a once in a lifetime experience and one I highly recommend.

Above Water

If you don’t fancy a swim, you can still see the large manatees while in a kayak or on a paddleboard.

There are many tour companies that can take you to meet the manatees. They can also guide you to many other exciting activities around the nature coast of Florida.

Take an airboat ride and feel the breeze while enjoying nature.

If you’re in the area around July to September, you can go scalloping in Homosassa Bay.

For all the fishing fans, there’s inshore and offshore fishing and even spearfishing. Fish for mackerel or even sharks. You may also spot some dolphins in the gulf.

End your day with the colorful sunset that you won’t soon forget.

Other animals that are housed in the park include alligators, Florida panther, black bears, and others.

You can also go on a hike for more than a mile, have a picnic while being surrounded by nature, look for treasures through geocaching, have a boat tour and spot some wildlife, and other activities you can do in the area.

Citrus County Springs

The dozens of springs that flow around Citrus County deserve your attention when planning a trip to this area.

Many people do come for the manatees, but the springs are also just as amazing to behold.

It would be a great idea to plan as King’s Bay alone has more than 50 springs. Also, not to be missed, Seven Sisters Spring and Three Sisters Springs.

Make reservations to stay at Nature’s Resort located on the Hall River with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico! Seriously, I don’t think there could be a better location.

Plus, the RV park offers all the amenities you could possibly need including laundry (always a struggle for me when I’m on camping trips).

Needless to say, this RV Park did not disappoint. It is, however, busy so make sure you book as soon as you have travel plans.
